[h1]Diesmal war es knapp[/h1]
Der Entwickler Minimol hat ein paar dieser Schachpuzzlespiele auf Lager, und diese werden gerne auch mal in Reihen fortgeführt.
Vor einer Weile hatte ich nicht nur Unlock The King, sondern auch Knight Swap gespielt und fand beide in Ordnung. Kürzlich probierte ich mich an Knight Swap 2, und da war nichts mehr in Ordnung. Dieser Nachfolger steigerte sich auf so lästige Art und Weise rein, dass es keinen Spaß mehr machte. Wie würde es mit Unlock The King weitergehen? Die Sorge war vorhanden.
[h1]Spielprinzip[/h1]
Es geht darum, dass die Königsfigur den Weg zum Zielfeld machen muss. Alle möglichen anderen Figuren stehen im Weg und müssen wegmanövriert werden.
Grundsätzlich gibt es zwei Dinge zu wissen:
- es wird nicht geschlagen, es muss nur Platz gemacht werden
- sobald der Weg frei ist, läuft der König selbständig den kompletten Weg an sein Ziel
Während das Ganze im Vorgänger nur in einer Ebene stattfand, geht man hier in die dritte Dimension. Man hat also ein 3D-Modell, welches man frei drehen kann (rechts, links, oben; unten drunter ist nichts).
Interessanterweise laufen die Figuren in einer Draufsicht trotzdem durch, auch wenn eigentlich Höhenunterschiede bestehen. Wichtig ist nur, dass die Felder angrenzen (oder im Fall des Springers mit seinem Move erreicht werden können).
Dann gibt es noch Felder, die bei bestimmten Figuren bestimmte Blöcke bewegen, und Portale.
[h1]Kritik[/h1]
Was meine Überschrift betrifft, so hab ich mich durch UTK2 ähnlich durchkämpfen müssen wie durch Knight Swap 2. Mit dem Unterschied, dass ich bei Knight Swap 2 knapp unter der Hälfte aufgegeben habe, weil es einfach zu unübersichtlich wurde. In UTK2 bin ich erstmals in Level 38 (von [spoiler]70[/spoiler]) ins Stocken geraten. Ich fand aber immer nochmal Motivation und kam in den 50er-Bereich. Dort allerdings nutzte ich immer mal wieder ein Walkthrough, um festzustellen, dass ich zumindest ziemlich nah dran war. In den 60er Levels verließ es mich dann aber. Bei Level 62 ist für mich endgültig Schluss, hier gibt's einen Kniff, auf den ich wohl entweder nach ewig langer Zeit, aber vermutlich eher nie gekommen wäre.
Damit habe ich aber immerhin länger durchgehalten als in Knight Swap 2 und hatte ehrlich gesagt sogar gehofft, dass der Titel bei mir die Kurve kriegt. Naja, dann wohl doch nicht.
Eine leider erwähnenswerte Kritik, die für alle genannten Titel gilt (also beide Spiele und beide Teile davon):
Der Schwierigkeitsgrad geht rauf und runter. Hat zwar auch mit der Einführung weiterer Mechaniken zu tun und dient auch dem Durchatmen, aber ist schon seltsam, denn zwischendurch kommen immer ein paar Levels hintereinander, die ganz einfach sind und wo man oft nur das Offensichtliche oder einzig Mögliche tut.
Unter Kritik noch eine Erwähnung wert ist der Bug, welcher immer wieder verhindert, dass das Spielfeld gedreht werden kann. Das ist der Übersicht wegen sehr wichtig und kann dann nur mit einem Neustart des Spiels zurückgeholt werden.
Irgendwann in den 50er Levels passierte es nach JEDEM Level.
Während Knight Swap 2 irgendwann nur noch unübersichtlich wurde und die Schachidee in den Hintergrund rückte, hält es sich bei UTK2 noch im Rahmen. Einige höhere Levels erschlagen einen erstmal, weil alles mit Figuren gepflastert ist, aber oft kann man doch noch einen Weg erkennen.
[h1]Fazit[/h1]
Unlock the King 2 lässt im Gegensatz zu Knight Swap 2 noch hoffen und behält sich auch mehr von der Grundidee Schach. Versierte und geduldige Rätsler haben hier sicherlich ihren Spaß, bei mir kippte es zum Ende hin doch in eine andere Richtung.

[u]What I Love[/u]: the 3rd dimension made for some really clever puzzles late in the game, after you start dealing with multiple kings. In particular, puzzle 62 kicked my butt for nearly an hour, and puzzle 67 made me feel smart again.
[u]What I don't Love[/u]: Bugs. Game seems buggier than [i]Unlock The King 1[/i]. In particular: [list]

Overall, fun little puzzle game.
相比于前作，难度显而易见的更高了 但是可以高情商的将其称之为更耐玩了，这是好事啊，而且价格依旧，那自然是挑不出啥大毛病的。
但是，多数新功能都做的跟一坨屎一样。
第一点，选关界面，第一代是以一排排数字从上到下呈现，第二代是以关卡预览图呈现，看似更贴心但是特么得一个一个翻，就不能把两者结合吗，一排排图片从上往下翻不更好吗。不过呢这种游戏基本上玩过一遍之后也不会再玩第二遍，能接受能接受。
第二点，新加的退一步功能，真就只能退一步啊，每走一步才能退一步，只能说是聊胜于无吧，但是！但是！但是！这个功能有bug，比如说可能导致在这一步再之前被移动过的可移动机关回退，比如棋子回退的面不对，你是回退到这个格子了，但这个格子有六个面，这还得掷骰子啊。不过呢本来第一代也没有这功能，就当没有这功能只有重置功能就行了，虽然这一代重置键也得先点菜单键才能用，变繁琐了，不过也是能接受的。
还有一些小bug突然间没法对进行旋转，不过这是个小游戏，重新启动也挺快，也能接受吧。
总的来说都是小问题能接受，主要是价格实在太便宜了，很难挑出大毛病啊。
忘记讲优点了。
第一点，难度的提升，我不认为这是坏处，这使得整体游戏更好玩了，3d，多国王，传送门，我觉得是挺有意思的设计，虽然让游戏更复杂但并不会让我觉得傻逼。
第二点，棋子选取逻辑，第一代中选取棋子之后，如果想再选取另一个棋子，要先取消前一个棋子的选取，而第二代可以直接选取新棋子而不用先取消选取。

最后一关只用移动一步，有种坏人从良的感觉，哎呀好感动。
前期怕你不动，后期怕你乱动！
是推箱子和象棋的融合，但也稍微知道一点各个棋走法就行，有些关棋看着多但大多都是迷惑人的，只用移动几步就够。
但是好评不高是有原因的，有bug比如突然调不了视角，比1代多了立体空间后有些图很难看清层次结构，以及丑丑的外观，除了王，是怎么把其他那么美的车象马后弄那么丑的，以及车和象太像，前期经常看不清。
但无论如何是很有创意的（好）游戏

一代做的挺好的，是国际象棋规则下的路径棋谱；二代搞了一堆花里胡哨的东西反而脱离了国际象棋的本质
凹凸不平的3D几何（只有部分关卡可以调整模型视角，且均有角度限制），很是寡淡的传送机制等等，让人有种莫名其妙的感觉
总的来说，要素很多，但是不适合CHESS，更适合解谜或者迷宫类游戏
Ce jeu est différent du premier opus. Il joue sur les niveaux (le plateau de jeu n'est pas plat). Par contre la vue est infecte. Il n'est pas possible d'orienter le plateau dans tous les sens ce qui rajoute de la difficulté inutile et énervante. L'angle de vue est limité. Il est parfois difficile d'identifier les pièces. De ce fait, ce jeu est moins bien que le premier. Déçue.

The first one was pretty good. This one is wrecked by horrendous angles and multiple levels that serve no purpose other than frustration.
Adds a new dimension to the puzzle and keeps the game fresh. Highly recommend it if you are looking for something to tease your brain with between tasks like writing python code which gets screwed up if you forget to indent or leave something outside of a if loop when it should be inside. Sometimes mild dyslexia will kick in when you put reverse how a method is written and don't catch it because your eyes are frail and you need to increase the font size.

edit - had a bug on lvl 57 where one of the tiles did not load a trigger so it was impossible to solve. had to exit and re-enter so both trigger tiles could load.
Unlock The King was an excellent game, but the sequel leaves much to be desired; it doesn't even make you want to play. The addition of an extra dimension seemed quite interesting, but it stops being fun when you're forced to restart the level because a king just wandered off into a portal that you don't know where it leads. It's practically playing by trial and error, which eliminates the core puzzle-solving factor of the game. I would have expected a dark mode to be added, unlike the first game, but NO, it's incredibly annoying to play this game at night
Spaß ist was anderes. In diesem Puzzle wird man eher verwirrt. Es beginnt wie immer recht einfach, steigert sich dann. An Elementen kommen Portale hinzu, Schalter, die ausgelöst Ebenen bewegen - all dies geschieht in 3d, die Figuren kleben an allen möglichen Seiten des "Schachbrettes". Dieses dreht man sich dann so, dass man wieder sozusagen von oben drauf schaut und bewegt die Figuren.
Es ist vieles chaotisch und die Masse an Figuren trägt nicht zur besseren Sichtbarkeit bei. Es gibt verschieden hohe Ebenen und man muss sich alles wirklich genau so hindrehen, dass nichts verdeckt wird. Oft weiß man nicht, welchen Weg der König nehmen soll. Geht er auch eine Ebene weiter nach oben oder klappt das nicht? Geht er durch das Portal und kommt auch an der richtigen Stelle wieder raus? Man muss es versuchen, rein durch überlegen kommt man teilweise nicht weiter. Neben den sehr schweren Levels gibt es dann immer wieder welche, die sehr einfach sind.
Ein Schritt kann jeweils rückgängig gemacht werden (man muss dazu erstmal Esc drücken oder oben links in die Ecke klicken. Dann noch mal auf den jetzt erst erscheinenden zurück-Pfeil. Warum so umständlich?). Das klappt aber nicht immer wie gewünscht, vor allem wenn ein Portal im letzten Schritt dabei war. Ein Schritt ist für dieses Spiel auch viel zu wenig.
Manchmal hängt sich das Spiel auch fest. Man kann die Figuren bewegen, reinzoomen, das Brett aber einfach nicht mehr drehen. Also muss man das Spiel oder Level neu starten und alles noch mal machen. Was frustrierend ist, wenn es sich nicht gerade um ein einfaches Level handelt.
Wer will, kann für dieses Spiel einen guide benutzen und Schritt für Schritt alles nachmachen. Mir ist das zu doof, darum habe ich mit Level 59 aufgehört (es gibt 70 Level). Weniger wäre auch bei diesem Spiel mal wieder mehr gewesen. Also nur für wirklich sehr enthusiastische Spieler die Spaß daran haben, viel rum zu probieren. Oder jene die nach Vorlage nachbauen möchten.

약간버그는있음 그건 되돌리기를 했을때 생기는버그임 그러니깐 버그걸렸어요 욕하기전에 내가 실수해서 되돌리기를 하지않았나 확인해보셈 참고로 그버그 나도 걸렸는데 4시간컷이 그말은 버그안걸리면 2시간안에 다할수있음 그리고 사라지는버그 사라진게아니다 포탈탄걸 되돌려서 이동한모습 그대로 낀거다 그러니깐 실력이다

My interest died when this became a puzzle game about confusing 3D perspectives and rules about how portals work rather than a puzzle game about chess.
J'adore les échecs et j'ai adoré le premier opus de la série, mais j'ai du me résoudre à arrêter d'y jouer après quelques minutes car cela me procurait littéralement de la nausée. Je suis sujet à cinétose et vu la conception graphique 3d, cela m'obligeait à faire constamment pivoter le plateau pour résoudre les problèmes, ce qui mouvements de caméra oblige, m'a rendu malade.
C'est dommage, car ce positionnement des pièces dans l'espace sur plusieurs niveaux n'apporte pour moi pas grand chose, sinon une difficulté de lecture. Si l'effet recherché était d'augmenter le niveau de difficulté, mieux valait concevoir des problèmes plus compliqués à résoudre que de compliquer la résolution de problème visuellement parlant.
L'intention de se distinguer du premier opus est louable, mais malheureusement injouable en ce qui me concerne. Dommage.
Stupid design
Love the new mechanics and structure that make you think way more than usual about every single move. The penultimate level is so so good. It's a pity the camera bugs out and the Undo button doesn't work as it's supposed to, but I don't think that that alone deserves a negative review.

Unlock The King 2 — шахматная игра-головоломка, в которой необходимо разблокировать короля, убирая с его пути другие фигуры. Разработчик попытался развить игру, добавив высот и трёхмерную доску, но я такую затею не оценил. Нововведения добавляют сложности и над некоторыми финальными уровнями придётся попотеть. Уровней стало меньше. Достижения работают, но не идут в зачёт.
Ошибка: вращение камеры часто глючит, помогает только перезапуск игры.
Недоработки: всё также плохо читаются шахматные фигуры.

The first game was bad to begin with, adding a 3rd dimension made it even worse. This game is all you need to get a headache. It is also very buggy, like undoing a move that had the King move to a portal makes the King disappear, and the rotation locks at random points forcing you to restart the game.
While a set of these puzzles are wasted on locked view challenges that are awkward, frustrating, and don't add to the puzzle, later puzzles in full 3D start to feel fresh and fun again.
Not quite as good as UTK1, but still good fun.

Not a bad sequel, the 3d board adds a bit of extra complexity. Only complaint is the undo is buggy, if you make a mistake on some levels you pretty much have to reset. Not the end of the world but could be better.

The premise looked good in theory, but height changes nothing and pieces still behave as if the board was flat, even when vertically disconnected. It only serves to add confusion since pieces don't read as easily at weird angles and it sometimes makes it difficult to tell where a piece can travel. With many of the most enjoyable puzzles typically those that don't make extensive use of it, it's a sadly missed opportunity.
Mid to late levels introduce portals that can warp any piece from one to the next, as long as both ends are unoccupied. The King will also use portals if accessible, whether it needs to or not, so they often must be kept blocked to prevent unwanted royal travels. A nice addition to the puzzle elements.
Portals are uniquely identified but nearly identical and hard to distinguish, making them tedious to plan and play when present in large quantities on certain levels.
A second king will be introduced towards the end, requiring to direct multiple targets to their destinations. Also a nice addition. Levels then become overenthusiastic with a third, fourth and fifth king added in almost successive levels, as if running out of ideas to keep the game fresh.
For a more rewarding and straightforward experience, I recommend the [url=steamcommunity.com/id/ElusiveOne/recommended/1172510]first game[/url] in the trilogy instead of this one. Still not a bad value for its very low price point.

The developer is out of ideas.
Unlock The King 2 is yet another construction kit template copy+paste from serial shovelware pushers, Minimol Games/Mens Sana Interactive. These guys (or just one guy flipping accounts to mislead gamers) do nothing but copy premade game templates and game tutorials, fill out a few things/stamp out basic levels using the construction kit templates, slap on an asset flipped set of sprites/assets, and dump them on Steam and into DailyIndieGame bundles as cash grabs. Trying to get paid for someone else's game templates, assets... at best, this is shovelware, at worst, it's a scam/cash grab.
Todays copy + paste from Mens Sana/Minimol is a minimalist/low poly chess themed puzzle where you must move the King piece around by dragging your finger around on your iPhone screen to move enough other pieces that the King has a clear path to the exit. They added a 3D mode, badly, but otherwise it's basically a direct copy + paste of their original mobile app, "Unlock The King".
Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics.
The game features extremely lazy, minimalist "art", of the type you normally expect to see in low effort Flash/browser games and mobile apps. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing.
Because this is a mobile app, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the iPhones that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate handicaps and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was an afterthought for the iPhone developers who are to blame for this. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for mobile phones forces upon a game. Once more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. I didn't spend thousands on building a gaming rig just so I could pretend it's an iPhone.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game only ever reached a peak player count of just 8 players. This is a pitiful enough number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is remarkable, but also to be expected. This complete and utter rejection of the game from gamers should be a keen information point for anyone considering buying shovelware like this. Gamers just didn't take this seriously, and for good reason, PC gamers don't like mobile app garbage.
It's also important to note the "developer" here has connections to a number of shady Russian asset flippers and review manipulators who show an organised pattern to scam and defraud gamers with fake reviews and asset flipping the work of others for profit. While reviews are about the games, gamers should be informed when developers act unethically. Whether these connections are the same developer using multiple accounts, or just working closely with other unethical developers, gamers should be warned about the harm to gamers by this developer and their associates. Buying games from unethical developers puts your money at risk.
Unlock The King 2 is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend.
Cool game but a buggy mess. You can't really undo a mistake with portals and kings because it doesn't put them back on the right side of the cube. Also the game sometimes stops letting you move the camera, making some levels impossible unless you restart the game...
Even more chess puzzles for a dollar.
It's a neat little puzzle game. Pretty in its design, decently challenging. I definitely would not a ground breaker in any way, but it's a nice twist on the traditional chess puzzle format.
剛過完一代，覺得輕鬆簡單的倉庫番+西洋棋的益智遊戲，沒想到這一代直接突破平面概念，來了一個立體走位方式....越玩越不相信我的眼睛了........
這代難度大幅上升喔~~由於多了不同面向的移動，每一關思考時間大幅增加，有時還需要走回頭路才能過，給個讚。
P.S：有個BUG要注意，滑鼠右鍵按著可以轉動視角，但有些關卡會卡住而無法轉動視角，需要重開遊戲才能回復正常！

前作からの追加要素として

難易度は前作からさほど変わらず、立体になりただただ面倒になったという印象が強いです。
謎を解くよりも盤面の把握に集中力と時間が割かれます。
ワープマスが追加されたことにより、目的地へのルートが確率されていなくても、ワープマスへのルートがあるとキングが移動します。
道を作れ、ただし王座には座らせん、そして道があると思えば勝手に動くっていうなかなか酷い王様ですね…
主にイマイチな点は
・盤面が立体なので前作から判別しづらかった駒が一層分かりづらい
・パースの影響で移動可能なマスが判別しづらい
・移動不可の黒マスが邪魔
・ワープマスが複数ある場合の視認性が悪い
また、UIが改悪されておりメニューを表示させないと
・レベルが見えない
・やり直しができない
・一手戻るができない
個人的には1度クリアすれば終わりなので問題ないのですが、レベル選択も1レベルずつのスライド式になっているので、繰り返しプレイする方にはストレスになると思います。
あとはバグで「一手戻るを行うと駒の位置が変わるもしくは消失する事がある」ので、一手戻るは使わない前提でのプレイをおすすめします。

Unlike the first game which was very fun and bug free. This is one of the worst puzzle games I've ever played.
The rotating camera breaks every 5 min (without the camera its practically unplayable because you can't see ♥♥♥♥)
and needs restarting to fix it every single time. But even when it is working ''properly'' You can see every side except for the normal view which makes puzzles way harder just because you can only look at it upside down or from the sides.

一応おすすめにしておくがパズルが立体になったのは面倒で見づらく、シンプルな前作の方が良かった。手順を間違えると詰むステージが多くなって難易度は前作より上がったと思う。時々ステージ開始時に回転出来ないバグが発生する事がある。アンドゥするとバグる事が多く駒が別のサイドに表示されたり駒が消えたりするので、難しい面の終盤でバグると腹立たしい。
盤上の駒を動かして8方向に動けるキング（王将）をゴールに辿り着けるように道を作るパズルゲーム続編。
……なのだが、ステージ数、UIなど前作よりも劣化している部分が多い。
タイトル画面を開かないとリトライできなかったり、前作にはあったステージ数の表記がなくなったり、クリア時に盤が上に登っていく演出で妙に時間を取らされたり。ゲーム面でも意味も無く高低差のあるステージや壁面の駒を動かすステージなどが普通の物になり、前作の良さだった『シンプルさ』『遊びやすさ』が失われている。
一応遊びやすいし安いので低評価は付けないけれどもこれで結構なお値段だったら低評価を付けていたし、この路線の続編はいいかな……という感じの作品。できればセールで買って欲しい。
Puzzles are either too easy or buggy that you can't rotate the level and have to restart the game.
The Achievements aren't really steam approved either, you can 100% the game, but it won't count for your profile.
3/10- pretty boring game, not gonna lie. But if you like chess ish games.. It is just like 0.79 euros.. I guess you can try it, but there are funnier things..
Clicking the undo button DELETES the pieces that were last moved, including the king. Straight up deletes them and you have to start the level over.

fun puzzle game very nice
前作より短く、全[spoiler]70[/spoiler] ステージ。クリアのみで全実績解除可能。
立体とか側面とか蛇足で見にくい感じの要素が追加されてしまっているし、相変わらずアンドゥバグなんかが見受けられるが
好物のショートタイムパズルとして（値段の割に）及第点以上には遊べるためオススメとします。
難易度が案外程よい。全て自力で解けました。
購入検討の方は一応1作目からプレイした方がいいんじゃないかな。あっちはもう少し見やすいし100ステージある。
1作目プレイ済みで購入検討の方は、まぁ、購入しても大丈夫だと思う。
Similar to UTK 1 except now there's height and a third dimension to worry about. It adds a bit of a challenge to the puzzles. Don't forget that you can rotate the camera by using the right mouse button.
Some of them like 38 and 41 are insane. 55 is a trap level, do not activate the knight switch. 67 and 69 will trip you up multiple times and are annoying as ♥♥♥♥.
Considering that this is a dollar not on sale, it's worth it if you enjoy this type of puzzle game. I prefer the first one though.

Purchased this one after having completed the first in the series because I really liked the concept. This iteration really builds forward on the basic rules and mechanics set in the first game. It also creatively adds new parts that really fit the style of the game very well and translate into some very good puzzles.
The only downside and the reason I don't recommend this game in general is that it has a lot of technical problems. I've had multiple problems with the game which made me have to restart the game about 20 times in the first 60 levels which is wayyy too much. It's quite a shame because the game is otherwise a very good sequel. Hopefully this gets fixed. If so, I'll gladly change my review. I hope the third game is better because I bought that one as well.
2D is replaced by 3D puzzles. It is more complicated now, harder to manage and understand all the possible move options and possibilities.
At least Undo option is added - that I missed during the Part 1. But this option is buggy sometimes, made the piece invisible.
Level 14 - this was not explained before that you can rotate the view with your right mouse button. Discovered that the second before I was giving up and planned to look for solution. And the rotating stops working sometimes, you need to close the game to make it work again.
You can zoom in and out with middle mouse button.
+ Level 28 introduces new Stargate mechanic.
+ Level 33 has nice trick.
+ Level 60 introduces two kings.
Managed to solve all levels myself, some of them were a real challenge.
Harder than the first one because now the map is a big issue. Your brain needs to understand the different perspectives and levels the map gives you.
I lost lot of energy playing this game, it was difficult to tame.

Definitely a downgrade from Unlock the King 1.
The main issue is the puzzles being 3D. Pieces can move to higher elevations as long as the flattened version would allow for movement, and some puzzles require traversing this uneven terrain. Maneuvering knights across gaps was especially difficult.
The last few levels are more interesting. They involve teleportation and several kings, which requires planning ahead for the automatic movement of the kings (especially to avoid traps), but the undo button does not work properly when the kings move, and this spoils those levels too.
Added new 3D elevations instead of the old 2D gameplay. Sure, some can like that. what I can't like is disappearing pieces through portals, multiple pieces go through one portal, using the undo function only returns your piece back and not the king (if it had moved).
There is also Unlock the King 3, so they chose to ignore the bugs and move on. developers don't care and neither should you.
Different elevations are just a gimmick that make it harder too see. Their is no tactical difference over 2d.

2편에서는 위의 문제점들이 다소 개선되었다.
스테이지 수를 줄이는 대신 나름 퍼즐이라 부를만한 난이도의 스테이지가 늘어났고, 버튼칸은 색을 다르게 해서 갸져지지 않게 해놨다.
추가된 요소는 3d구조, 포탈, 여러개의 킹.
세 요소 모두 재밌는 퍼즐 요소라 긍정적으로 평가하지만, 킹이 움직이는 알고리즘을 파악하고 익숙해지는 데 시간이 좀 걸리는 점이 부정적이다. 이 킹의 이동 알고리즘을 파악해야만 후반부 퍼즐을 풀 수 있는데 이를 제대로 설명해주는 스테이지가 필요하지 않을까.
이 정도면 1100원 값은 한다고 본다.
1편을 끝내고 2편을 시작할 땐 별로 기대가 되지 않았지만, 2편을 마친 지금은 3편에는 어떤 변화가 있을지 기대된다.
Very brain-wrinkly game.
Imagine it’s Black Friday again, and you’ve decided that you weren't covered in enough bootprints the first time around. When the clock strikes midnight and myriads of strangers produce an assortment of cutting utensils—some legal and some not so legal—you realize you goofed for the second year in a row, and it's past time to abort. You shove strangers in oddly specific directions, dodge descending blades, leap over toppled grandmas, and shimmy through paths so narrow they would make a spelunker fill their adult diaper. If that weren't bad enough, someone also turned on a gravity manipulator while firing off a portal gun. You now understand the gameplay concept of [b]Unlock the King 2[/b].

[b]Minimol[/b] continues to make unique chess games that aren't too derivative and have interesting and challenging gameplay. For $1, this game is a steal, so I'll recommend you get all of their games.
Much harder than the first one, still pretty fun puzzles and I mostly appreciate the new 3d mechanic. I do think it expands on the first game in a way that is beneficial to the core idea of the series.
One problem I had was that I basically had to restart the game after every level since the camera frooze and would let me spin it around, a feature that is definitely needed in a 3d puzzle game like this that heavely features puzzle design that requires you to look at it from multiple angles. Other than that a great follow up to the first game!
This second installment barely passes, and it does only due to the low price. It's commendable that the creators tried something different with the 3D boards, but they didn't seem to have any ideas what to do with them, so most of them feature a boatload of figures to wear down the player, silly traps for the berserk autopilot kings, and a broken undo function. What they lack is the necessity to think your way through the levels - this makes the last 10-15 levels quite miserable. You may want to pick it up if you liked the first game, but that one was superior - I spent about half as much time with UTK1, but it was still much better value for money. You've been warned.

The first game was okay, but the developers tried to be too clever in this sequel by adding a third dimension. The baffling thing is, even on puzzles that are completely 2D in nature, puzzles that could have been done on a flat board, they add meaningless elevated platforms, or have the camera angle be so weird that it's like the board is resting on its side. Everything just looks like a mess. Can't be bothered to finish it. The only reason I'm not refunding it is because I got it in a bundle.

Игра представляет собой серию пазлов, в которых нам нужно освободить дорогу для шахматной фигуры король. Как известно по правилам шахмат, король ходит в любую сторону, как по горизонтали/вертикали, так и по диагонали на одну клетку. Здесь, разумеется, король не может срубить фигуру, но так же никакие шах и мат ему не грозят, а как только вы, серией ходов освобождаете дорогу королю, он тут же в припрыжку устремляется к выходу.
Сложность заключается в том, что единое шахматное поле разнесено в пространстве на несколько параллельных плоскостей и получается, что фигуры ходят то вверх по виртуальной конструкции, то вниз. Зажимая правую кнопку мыши можно вращать всю конструкцию в поисках верного решения.
Высокая сложность в игре достигается за счет того, что увеличивается количество королей разных цветов, появляются клетки, куда нужно поставить конкретную фигуру (ферзь, конь, ладья) и плюс порталы, которые телепортируют фигуры.
В игре встречаются баги, в частности у меня были случаи, когда проходишь один уровень, в следующем уровне поле не вращается в пространстве. И для устранения этой проблемы приходится перезагрузить игру (возможно этот баг уже устранен).
Игру я прошел пока только до 68 уровня, в котором сложность, для меня оказалась, настолько высока, что я просто потерял интерес к игре.
Игру можно посоветовать всем любителям головоломок, благо знание игры в шахматы тут не обязательно (хотя приветствуется), достаточно знать, как какая фигура ходит и можно играть.

For me this sequel is better than the first one but still isn't that hard. It takes a little work out what is going on but all levels can be thought through logically and solved. The new '3d' mechanics though just aren't used enough, early on it is a gimmick and it isn't until the later part that it is actually used. For me it is definitely worth the low price it is sold for even though it took <3 hours to finish.
The last few were great levels that really require you to think things through. Just wish more were hard like that but it's still a nice relaxing game.
Приятная головоломка, с хорошим саундтреком. Если интересны головоломки, то игра понравится. Единственный баг - иногда камера перестаёт реагировать и просто застывает в одном положении. К сожалению, чтобы решить проблему надо перезайти в игру.
Good but hard game
This title tells us that it takes the puzzle logic of Unlock the King into three dimensions with 70 original puzzles. Now, I didn't cross-reference the original game, but the first few - those for learning the basic mechanic if one hasn't played the original - are likely the same, or as close as not to matter. Indeed, the first 20-odd puzzles are all so simplistic as to not be worth counting for those who have played the original. There are a further dozen mid-game puzzles where new mechanics are introduced which are likewise filler - one click to solve, no opportunity to get it wrong - puzzles.
But there is further disappointment. A lot of the puzzles simply have their boards extruded, but they remain 2D. Yes, the piece is on a different level, but rotate the board to look down on it from above and it's no different than the original. (Side note disappointment, the rotation mechanism is limited by the Z axis and a hard floor; there isn't full freedom to look at the puzzle from every direction.)
Of the 70 levels, 7 are flat-portal puzzles, introducing the portal mechanism; one is an absurdly simplistic portal onto another surface. In effect, of 70 , only 17 are real 3D unlock-the-king puzzles. Less than half of those are in any way challenging. A few are nicely tricky. But there is so much fluff in this game that it's hard to justify the price, even with it being so low.
Convoluted:
*The combination of a third dimension, portals, piece-specific buttons, and densely packed pieces can be a bit much. In the last 10 levels in particular, it can be difficult to determine what you're supposed to do.
*The portals give no indication of where they lead, forcing you to use trial and error to learn and then to remember which pairs of portals are linked.
*Worsening the impact of the complexity, the undo button does not have unlimited uses.
Buggy:
*The camera often locks, typically rendering a level unplayable. The only fix is to restart the game.
*Pieces often bug out when you use the undo button. This seems to affect the Kings the worst, resetting them to positions they had never been or even to positions [i]inside[/i] blocks.
Poor camera:
*Some levels have very limited camera perspectives that do not allow you to look at the board as you would like. Having to look at the board upside-down or from above, where the pieces look very similar to each other, is annoying.

Lovely graphics and challenging puzzles with new mechanics introduced throughout. The puzzles are difficult enough that you have to mull them over for a while but they're not so impossible that you have to look up solutions. Just perfect.

游戏整体问题不大，但就是视角真的恶心，有的图可以转视角，随便玩，有的图不可以转视角，好难受，大部分地方看不清楚，卡在那里十分难受！
相比1代丰富多了，特别是多了多个面的设定，很有意思，让难度大增。一些关卡也很难，而且整体体现了从易到难的感觉(除了出现新的设定以后)。
修正了1代难度忽高忽低、过于简单的问题。
Adding different elevations and faces does not add to the fun or interest of the original game, only obscures everything and is just more frustrating. Towards the end it just makes the final levels so overly complicated that they aren't enjoyable at all.
There are a few bugs as well, where pieces get glitch out when using undo or going through teleporters, and when starting a level being unable to rotate. The level select has also been changed to linear instead of a grid, so you have to clicklicklicklick all the way through the levels instead of just selecting the one you want. The reset and undo buttons are also in the pause menu, which is just a bit more work. Definitely not as good as the first one.

It's more like thumbs in the middle. I don't want to say thumbs down because it's not awful. I thoroughly enjoyed the first game and looked forward to this one, but this is a significant disappointment. The 3D viewpoint doesn't work. It lost the charm of the first game in the process. I'm not going to get the third one since it's more 3D. I applaud them for trying something new, but "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
