Very underrated game, it's awesome actually! For fans of Kung Fury, who like over the top 80s and 90s action. It's the best Trials game to me because it has story, has lots of interesting mechanics like guns, grappling hooks, trailers, jetpacks and whatnot, you get to go on 80s action type adventures, indiana jones type adventures, starshit trooper type adventure, battle the power rangers, tame giant monsters... IT HAS IT ALL!

I'm not giving this a negative review because it isn't solely a Trials game, but because everything OUTSIDE of that feels incredibly janky. Trying to get A+ grades on most of the courses feels like playing Russian roulette with physics. It's a damn shame because the story is unironically engaging, despite it being a parody.

J’ai joué à tous les Trials et j’adore cette série pour ce qu’elle est : du trial pur, exigeant et précis.

Mais Trials of the Blood Dragon met le gameplay au second plan et impose un scénario lourd qui casse le rythme, avec un ton ouvertement nationaliste américain.

Plus grave encore, le jeu déshumanise les communistes et le peuple vietnamien, les réduisant à des caricatures, allant jusqu’à les comparer à des insectes.
Cette manière de dépeindre des peuples et des idéologies est inacceptable et n’a rien à faire dans un jeu vidéo, humour ou satire ou non.

Quand on sacrifie le gameplay et le respect humain, on perd les joueurs.

Somehow they made Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon back in 2013 which was and still is one of the best standalone dlc expansions in gaming and now 10 years later it SURPRISINGLY got a sequel (that I only just randomly saw the other day) and it is the typical nowadays woke trash.

They just pissed on Rex Colt and made this cringe fest woke garbage in a game.. about riding a bike ? When it could have been AT LEAST a dlc for Far Cry 6 ? I don't know which idiot came up with the idea and which other idiot gave it a green light.

Has its highs but its lows are probably the lowest you can go. Unsightreadable tracks some of the time, you get 1 shot by enemies, which I could forgive if you didnt have to go by one in zero gravity, terrible controls, the gameplay when you get off your bike feels unfinished. I would refund but i bought it too long ago.

"Funny you say that, because we want you to make an entire [i]Trials[/i] game based on that cutscene."
"...I'm not sure we follow."
"Continue the [i]Blood Dragon[/i] storyline where it left off after Rex defeats Sloan and the Omega Force. Rex gets married with Dr. Darling and they have two kids. One of them is named after a The Police song. The other just has a made-up name. Do what you will with the boy's name, but in the year 2019, there is a fourth Vietnam War, and they are sent to put an end to it. Just like [i]FC3:BD[/i], it should be as 80s and over-the-top as possible."

That's the conversation I imagine happened for the development of this game, and boy, was Ubisoft wrong.

As stated before, [i]Trials of the Blood Dragon[/i] continues from [i]Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon[/i]'s story, where Roxanne and Slayter, Rex "Power" Colt and Dr. Elizabeth Darling's children, are sent to shoot up some alleged communists and end Vietnam War 4. Yeah, two 12-year-olds going to war. Some of the plot points are ludicrous even for a sequel to a game based on well-known 80s films. [spoiler]Examples of such are that Dr. Darling is actually a Blood Dragon taking the form of a human, which makes Rox and Slay half-Blood Dragon. Dr. Darling disguises herself as General Ryback to help her kids kill the "communists," because while they could be communists, they're still just other humans standing in the way of the Dragornians, and the Killstar actually corrupts Rex so that it swings him to communism. That, I can understand though, because the Killstar in [i]FC3:BD[/i] used health as ammunition.[/spoiler] I wasn't much of a fan of the Saturday morning cartoon art style they were going for either. They completely butchered the Blood Dragons with it.

The gameplay is a mixed bag. While the APC and on foot sections weren't the worst things ever, the bike and minecart physics never felt all that great. Oftentimes I felt like I had the right alignment with the bike to meet the ground again, only to do an upside-down wheelie and kill myself. Minecarts share the same issue, only with added weight. The levels with the grappling hook bike and jetpack were absolutely miserable. The grappling hook is fun when it's first introduced, but in later levels, you really need to channel your inner Spider-Man to get past them, especially on Triangulation. As for the jetpack, Rox/Slay really wants to go full throttle with it even with the slightest tap of the W key, which makes it harder to turn and easier to undershoot and overshoot everything. In Extermination, where you not only have to deal with bad jetpack controls, you also have to transport a fragile, highly explosive bomb-probe to the mother bug, which does not help at all. What does help, though, is a forgiving amount of checkpoints across all levels. Even if you're not dead, you can still respawn at a checkpoint at any time if you know you're about to, and the respawn time is instant, so you don't have to wait to try again.

I also enjoyed the references to other franchises sprinkled throughout the game, even if some weren't from the 80s. There were allusions to [i]Hotline Miami[/i], [i]Halo[/i], [i]Star Wars[/i], [i]Super Mario Bros.[/i], and even [i]My Little Pony[/i]. Power Glove also made an amazing soundtrack for this game, but do you expect anything less from one of the greatest synthwave artists of all time (and where is "Clutch (Dragon Mix)" in the album?)?

Overall, [i]Trials of the Blood Dragon[/i] is a D game. Even if the plot is ridiculous for an 80s-based game, it's still charming, but gets overshadowed by crappy gameplay and physics. It's not a great sequel to [i]Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon[/i] and it's definitely not the [i]Hotline Miami 3[/i] we've been waiting for. Hopefully we can go back to the FPS genre for the next [i]Blood Dragon[/i] game. [spoiler]Maybe we won't even get another [i] Blood Dragon [/i] game at all since Rex, Dr. Darling, Rox, and Slay all killed each other in the true ending.[/spoiler]

One of the only things that can be considered good is the soundtrack and bike sections (maybe) Everything else is either mediocre or bad. Other sections of the game like the on-foot and jetpack parts feel very janky and sometimes infuriating (not like in a fun way) If you are going to buy this game (hopefully not) just please buy it when it is on sale
One more thing, You can't 100% the game as the servers are down and one achievement is forever locked from that.

Willkommen in einer alternativen Zukunft der 80er Jahre, wo der Kalte Krieg nie endete und Cyber-Krieger die Welt retten. Die Story ist so absurd und überspitzt, dass selbst eine Soap Opera vor Neid erblassen würde. Als Rex Colt's und Dr. Darling's Kinder, hacken sich die Protagonisten in eine Verschwörung ein, die von Dinosauriern bis hin zu Alien-Technologie reicht. Die Handlung ist eher ein Vorwand für den Wahnsinn, aber genau das erwartet man von einem Trials-Spiel.

Blood Dragon infects another Ubisoft franchise.

Story:

Rex Power Colt has settled and now has two kids Roxanne and Slayter. Just like their father 12 years before, they are tasked with a crazy task, take down the Empire of Vietnam and stop their forces and end Vietnam War 4.

For fans of the original Blood Dragon, the story is about the same absolutely over the top and crazy experience, just a lot more toned down for a more younger audience, but the same type of humor is still here. I've seen people say that the new characters are a hit or miss, but I found them to be an enjoyable duo, although they do get on your nerves from time to time and I do think my man Rex is just the best.

Graphics:

Visually Trials of the Blood Dragon oozes the same type of Neon barf that you expect when you hear the words Blood Dragon. Purple and Pink are the two primary colors and I have to say that I absolutely loved how vibrant all of the environments looked, my 80's aesthetic love has been pleased.

A minor negative is that although there are vibrant colors, the lighting sometimes make certain environments look pretty rough, especially when darker lighting is introduced. It's sometimes even hard to see where you're supposed to go and it might end up getting you killed.

Audio:

The developers knew that there was no point in not bringing back Power Glove and they came back with an absolute banger of a score. While the overall score isn't as memorable as the Far Cry Blood Dragon game, it's still filled with great and catchy synth tunes, that make the gameplay exhilarating.

The voice acting is pretty decent overall, matches that saturday morning cartoon style very well and hearing some returning voice was a delight too. Sound effects for the bike and the explosions are also top tier and I wouldn't expect anything else from Trials.

Gameplay:

Ever played a Trials game ? Well this is the same type of deal except now it's Blood Dragon themed. For those who are new, here's the rundown. Trials of the Blood Dragon is a physics based racing game where you're on a motocross bike and have to reach the end of the level as fast as possible without crashing.

Trials of the Blood Dragon, when you play with the bike is an absolute blast and is just as good as when I originally used to play it when I was a kid. The controls are incredibly simple and the bike controls incredibly well, so when you're just blazing through each level, without crashing it's a blast.

However one of the newer additions of this particular game are the on stage segments and the different vehicle stages. Every once in a while you'll have to ditch the bike and do something with a different vehicle. While the actual on foot segments aren't particularly fun, they at least work and I had fun using the twitch shooter mechanics, however as soon as you get control of the jetpack the game becomes incredibly annoying.

The controls of it are so finnicky and going fast isn't really an option because the controls are just so wonky. In one of the levels you also have a bomb attached to you and it's wobbling all over the place and I could never get the controls to work in my favor. It was just so annoying and all I would wish for is to get back on the bike.

Verdict:

Trials of the Blood Dragon is a bit wonky in areas, but when it's good it's great. I absolutely adore the style and I kind of wish Ubi gave out more weird spin offs and maybe that will happen one day, but as we stand today this is still a fun game and worth the time, just don't expect a Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon type experience.

not sure why this game exists but it isn't bad. the gameplay is probably the worst aspect of this game, the only good levels are the ones that actually play like a trials game (you know, with a motorcycle). a lot of the levels have these side scroller shooter parts with the most barebones gameplay and floaty controls, along with some other gimmicky vehicles that are nowhere near as fun. the story is pretty entertaining and is probably the best part along with the graphics and presentation. i think this game is only worth playing if you like both the original blood dragon and also trials, probably a waste of money if you only like one or the other.

First of all, don't go into this expecting a pure Trials biking game since you only use the bike about a third of the time. The bike that you do get is pretty bottom tier as far as Trials bikes go, and the parts that don't involve the bike are a bit awkward and clumsy. However, the over the top nature of the game and the pure fun that can be had out of it makes up for most of these negatives since you can really see the experimentation in the track design and various abilities/modes of travel. No spoilers, but the story is kinda nuts, and it's a blast to see these wild tracks for the first time.

I am recommending this for a casual playthrough, but not really for going for the A+ ranks on each track. This is because the goofy mechanics don't really lend themselves well for consistency and perfection, and you have to have some pretty solid runs to get the best rank.

It's a lot of fun though if you put aside the fact that it's not really a traditional Trials game.

Мало того, что все миссии на время и очки, а каждая смерть или ошибка эти очки отнимает. Дак тебя ещё и прыгать заставляют, а ГГ просто сваливается с этих платформ, потому что ты либо пережал кнопку, либо не дожал. Сидишь в итоге, и после прыжка наяриваешь стик вправо и влево, чтобы отцентроваться!

I ignored the reviews hoping for an interesting crossover of Trials games and one of my favorite Far Cry games. The overall tone of the game is fun and I love the cheesiness of it BUT the gameplay leaves much to be desired. I knew there would be on-foot sections but after 4 missions in a row without using the bike once and fighting with the floaty unresponsive controls, the game becomes more of a slog through the rough sections. The bike sections are great, as few and far between as they are, but the game just doesn't feel good otherwise.

Great aesthetics, wacky story, changes up the gameplay a lot (various vehicles, on foot, jetpack, with guns, highly varied environments, some with a twist) to keep things fresh. Great soundtrack.
For me the hardest and most annoying part are the controls on foot.
I played a lot of Trials HD on xbox360 back in the day, and must say this game is quite different, so don't expect a proper trials game. This feels more like a total conversion mod.
In a sale this game is a good deal for some hours of potentially quite challenging fun.
The story seems to progress no matter how ♥♥♥♥ you ride as long as you cross the finish line. To get the most of this game you should strive to get a good rating on the tracks you find enjoyable, so that means replaying them till you git gud

Trials of the Blood Dragon is Ubisoft's attempt to tie more games into the Blood Dragon "series" that Far Cry 3's famed DLC tried to introduce. It's wacky, filled with nonsense and anime and explosions, and most interestingly does everything within the Trials engine - which really shows off just how much can be done with the creation tools.

But, as a game, it's a bit boring. It has a lot of non-motorcycle segments and focuses a lot on the wacky story, and I both didn't feel compelled to go for higher medals, nor finish the game. It's unfortunately just not what I play Trials for.

I respect it, but I don't recommend it.

К серии Trials я всегда относился с аккуратным интересом. Сейчас это наверное единственная "крупная" серия игр про бешеный триал на мотоциклах с видом сбоку. Вот только почти все игры этой серии были далеки от идеала даже в плане геймплея, из-за которого у меня и был интерес. Вторая проблема этой серии - графика. Уж не знаю какие люди все это делали, но у них явно это не особо получается. Графика во всех играх Trials какая-то странная. Где-то красиво, где-то уродство, где-то вообще текстурки не прогрузились. Именно две этих проблемы и не дали мне возможности пройти ни одну часть до конца и полюбить эту серию.

Но Trials of the Blood Dragon меня зацепила. В первую очередь зацепила конечно же идеей. Вот тебе духовное продолжение FC3BD, но с мотоциклом. На деле все оказалось совсем не так радужно.

Во-первых, физика мотоциклов в игре как и во всей серии - странная. Вроде мотоцикл едет, вроде есть сцепление, вроде даже наклон на что-то влияет. Но что-то все-таки не то. Это не совсем полноценный минус, это больше моя придирка.
Во-вторых, физика всего остального. В игре кроме мотиков есть какой-то марсианский вездеход, люди, велосипед, реактивный ранец. Из всего этого корректно и приятно управляется лишь вездеход, на нем прям интересно ездить. Все остальное какое-то мыльное, какое-то тянучее такое. Странное описание физики конечно, но вот прям с языка стягиваю.
В-третьих, в игре снова, как и всегда, есть проблемы с графикой. Тут тебе и неравномерность картинки, и какие-то уродские комиксы, и просадки кадров в, казалось бы, рядовых сценах.

НО, игру я все-таки прошел. Она короткая, если не зализывать ее до A+, то можно пройти за 4 часа. В игре есть прикольные трассы, которые прям дают тебе пр0cpaться от драйвовости, есть интересные геймплейные находки, есть сносный бредовый сюжет.

Стоит ли весь этот набор плюсов и минусов своего ценника? Нет, абсолютно точно это того не стоит. Но по скидке взять советую, сам забрал за 150 рублей и не жалею

Продолжение Blood Dragon вышло крайне неоднозначным...
Эпичный визуальный стиль сочетается с различными пасхалками и отсылками к старой эпохальной культуре (ретровейв, неон, сериалы и вот это вот всё).
Музыкальное сопровождение на высоте, чего и следовало ожидать от Powerglove.
Сюжет как сюжет, ничего особенного (некоторые твисты всё же порадовали).
Хвалебные речи закончились, пора и приуныть:
Огромной ложкой дёгтя в этом медовом бочонке является отвратительное со всех точек зрения управление.
Механики зачастую работают через пень колоду, физика улетела безвозвратно в направлении заката.
В связи с этим сложность возникает не с геометрией трасс, а конкретно с невозможностью адекватно управлять транспортом.
Основной минус можно разбавить ещё горсткой замечаний и придирок, но это уже кому как.
Лично мне не особо понравился чрезмерно напыщенный юмор, временами мягко говоря низкого качества и обилие нецензурщины.
Помимо этого для понимания большинства шуток нужно как минимум быть знакомым с теми временами.
Всего должно быть в меру, иначе получается что получается.

ИТОГИ:
Рекомендовать можно, но нужно ли? Вопрос остаётся открытым.

This game is the perfect example of experimentation over refinement. This review comes from a huge fan of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, and someone who has dabbled in and played a few of the Trails games in the past. Seeing as I loved FC3BD, and had played some of the Trials franchise, I figured I'd give this one a try. This game was something I had wanted to play for a long time now, but the mixed reviews scared me off from it at first. Luckily, I caught it on sale and...well I'm glad I did.

This game is filled to the brim with experimentation, and has several styles of game-play. It has biking sections (sometimes either with a gun or a grappling hook), truck driving sections (which there are very few of), jet-packing, boss fights, and even on foot gameplay. And what's absolutely absurd is that there are several different subcategories of these various play styles, which change up gameplay even more! My take on the gameplay in a short break-down:

Biking - Hit or miss, but it's mostly fine. The physics seem to have gotten worse from the previous Trials games, which screwed me over a few times, but it's not the worst controls I've ever had to play with. The grapling hook can be pretty jank at times, but I must admit that the gun gameplay merging with the speed of the bike was some pretty great stuff. The level design isn't bad for the most part though, and when the level design is at it's best, it can be fun to zip through these levels, especially with the game's great aesthetic.

Trucking - Probably my favorite, but the only reason being that I don't have to deal with the sloppy or finicky controls that the other playstyles offer.

Jet-packing - Have fun trying to get past lazer beams while flying in this thing.

Boss fights - There was one boss which I actually think was decently enjoyable to fight, but other than that, the bosses felt incredibly frustrating.

On foot - In a Trials game? Why? Just...why. The platforming is not only basic, but very unsatisfying. I don't quite know how to describe it, but it doesn't feel like your character is jumping; more so it feels like your character just levitates in the air as you hold the button, and it's one of things where you really have to experience it for yourself to see what I mean. Anytime I would get into one of these sections, I would roll my eyes and hope to get back to the next biking section.

Now onto the story (spoiler free). It's not that great to be honest, and everything feels so disjointed and hard to follow. Granted, FC3BD didn't exactly have A tier writing or anything, but the game had a very good sense of humor to it, and was at the very least able to keep cohesion all the way through. There were very few points throughout Trials of the Blood Dragon that actually made me laugh. There are multiple twists to this story, which was a pleasant surprise, but these twists have little to no foreshadowing whatsoever, even in spite of them making sense in context of events.

The soundtrack is just fantastic. It is done by Powerglove, the same people that did most if not all of the tracks from Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon. Their work was phenomenal in the previous game, and their work still shines bright neon here as well, but with this game they're really able to show off a lot more of their potential. With the constant fast and action-packed pace that this game tries to portray, they were able to do a lot more with what they had. What's interesting is that I could swear that my ear would pick up on some remixes from FC3BD here and there, which were more than welcome. While I perfer the more atmospheric sounds of FC3BD, this still certainly is by no means bad stuff.

Conclusion: I am VERY glad I got this game on sale. If you catch it on sale and you're a fan of the retro aesthetic and synth music, or if you just want a narrative sequel to FC3BD, then I'd consider giving it a play. It was nice to be able to play the game just to see what it was like, but more than likely the only thing related to it that I will be revisiting is the soundtrack on YouTube.

Отойдём от моих впечатлений и совсем немного об игре:
Плюсы - вся игра кроме минусов
Минусы - Нет урона от падения в беговых оружейных миссиях, то что персонаж остаётся в положении когда нажимаешь на поворот (A\D),всё чистилище, а также уровень с доставкой бомбы и все уровни с джетпаком.
Нейтрально - оригинальное название рестарта уровня и респавна с ласт кт, в 3 раза за всю игру перепутал рестарт с респавном,последний раз на финале за минуту до конца игры.

Tengo que decir que no me arrepiento en absoluto de haber adquirido este juego, ya que es muy extraño, pero sumamente entretenido. Vale la pena mencionar que es un juego más bien para jugadores experimentados, no va a gustar tanto a los casuales ya que en cierto punto se vuelve bastante difícil. Es de esos juegos que se deben practicar una y otra y otra vez para lograr obtener las mejores puntuaciones. La historia es interesante, aunque finalmente lo que termina siendo definitivo es el gameplay. La vibra ochentera ciertamente se agradece, incluyendo la música, la parte visual y hasta la colección de pegatinas que da bastante nostalgia. Juego muy recomendado si te gusta el reto y la acción desenfrenada sin sentido.

A brilliant game! A lot of interesting ideas, such as the grappling hook and SMG combat. The Japanese campaign kicks *ss, and it is easily one of my favourite official levels in the whole Trials series. My only problem is that there is very little to do, other than improve times and scores, after story completion. Plus, the game is a little too easy for my liking. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a refreshing experience and for a pretty game with amazing artwork, animation and music!

So full disclosure- I'm not really into the Trials games. I mean they're fine games, but overall not really for me as I'm not very good at them. I bought this game mostly because I really enjoyed Far Cry Blood Dragon and it's world and such, and since we have yet to get a FC Blood Dragon 2 this game is a nice side story in the same universe. Having said that I think it's a fun game with a good story- and it even has platforming and jetpack levels which are pretty cool. I'm glad I played it and for under 4 bucks on sale I think it's a good value, even if you can beat the game in about 3-4 hours. I don't care about getting the best rankings on each level so that doesn't bother me. But after finishing the story I'm done with it, but it was a fun game overall.

Trials of the Blood Dragon a cette particularité d'être un spin-off, dérivé de la licence Trials : il a donc pour but de proposer une alternative créative et n'affiche ainsi pas de prétentions équivalentes aux jeux canon de la série.

TBD nous fait ainsi suivre un scénario farfelu au cours d'une petite trentaine de pistes relativement variées et dotée d’une vraie narration. Le tout dans une ambiance synthwave des plus travaillées et un synopsis des plus clichés (mais tellement bons) des années 90, tel son mentor Far Cry Blood Dragon, dont l'histoire est d'ailleurs ici la suite directe.

Malgré un charadesign discutable et une trop basique animation des cinématiques, l'habillage du jeu est soigné : hub, stickers, fausses publicités réussies, dialogues, détails ingame... donnent une patte humoristique qui tape souvent juste, et façonnent son cachet au jeu.

Passons désormais en revue les différentes mécaniques proposées, si caractéristiques de ce jeu.

Le squelette principal, chaque joueur familier avec la licence le connait bien entendu sur le bout des doigts : juché sur sa moto, le joueur doit aller d'un point A à un point B le plus rapidement possible, afin de gagner la meilleure note possible, le tout grâce à la toujours aussi exceptionnelle physique du moteur.

Petit jeu oblige, plusieurs piliers de la série disparaissent néanmoins : pas de jeu d'adresse, pas d'éditeur de pistes, pas de Track Central, ni même de replay.

En échange, les véhicules offrent une diversité beaucoup plus poussée que les habituelles motos connues : la moto, le BMX, le char d'assaut, le wagon, le jetpack et le Turbo-Flip :
- Les deux-roues (moto et BMX) ont des feelings très comparables à ceux des Trials classiques, je ne m'étendrai pas dessus ;
- Le char est plutôt anecdotique : assez lent mais puissant et bourrin, il avance en détruisant tout sur son passage, et ne demandera du (petit) skill que ponctuellement ;
- Le wagon est sympathique mais un peu trop imprévisible pour être honnête : régulièrement le wagon réagit bizarrement en atterrissant sur les rails, pas le plus optimal du monde ;
- Le jetpack est une bonne surprise : le rendu y est bien foutu et les lignes de courses bien construites rendent le challenge agréable à jouer et intéressant à scorer. Exigeant mais jamais frustrant, une réussite ;
- Le Turbo-Flip : une des meilleures inventions du jeu. Ce petit drone se joue comme une moto, à la différence que la marche arrière égale la marche avant et qu'il est réversible. Impossible dans ces conditions de provoquer un crash par retournement, on peut foncer où l'on veut en toute liberté, un vrai bonheur à jouer.

Quelques autres nouveautés de gameplay :

- Le grappin : sert à s'accrocher à des zones prédéfinies. offre de bonnes possibilités, une fluidité de jeu et un feeling très agréable ;
- La mitraillette : consiste à tirer des balles avec le stick droit, à la manière d'un dual-stick shooter. Deux types de cibles : des humains (compliqués à toucher) et des interrupteurs (plus sympa à gérer) ;
- Les boss : au nombre de 4, 3 d'entre eux concernent les phases à pied et ne sont que peu excitants à jouer. En revanche le 4e se joue à la moto, et devient de ce fait beaucoup plus intéressant. En effet, il se fait en 4 portions de circuit, chacun exploitant à merveille les spécificités de la moto et du grappin.

Reste à évoquer LA nouveauté qui a fait couler tant d'encre : les phases à pied.
Pour une raison inconnue, RedLynx a cru bon d'introduire des phases à pied. Pourquoi pas après tout : il y a des tonnes de platformers très respectables qui font un taff merveilleux.
On ne va pas se mentir, la prise en main est ici assez molle : des actions comme avancer ou sauter ont tendance à lutter contre une certaine inertie avant de s'enclencher pleinement, à la manière d’un Prince of Persia de l’ancien temps, dans lequel il fallait anticiper les actions d'une demi-seconde pour accomplir un saut ou un demi-tour. Une fois ce fait accepté, il devient tout à fait possible de jouer ces phases sans trop se prendre la tête, voire de s'amuser avec.
Il convient par contre de bien différencier les phases à pied pures des phases à pied avec shooting. Là où sans mitraillette on peut trouver un certain plaisir à parcourir les niveaux, il devient nettement plus compliqué de garder son sang-froid lorsqu'il est nécessaire de combiner précision de sauts/trajectoires et précision de tir. La finesse trop poussée des projectiles alliée aux hitboxes un peu chiche des cibles obligent à faire preuve d'une précision chirurgicale (ou de chance) en toutes circonstances sur les portions dédiées.
De plus, ces phases à pieds ne sont pas complètement fignolées. Par exemple en arrivant sur un coin (que ce soit en départ ou en arrivée de saut), le personnage peut réagir bizarrement : saut impossible, flottement, éjection...

Les phases à pied ont beaucoup participé à une certaine haine du public vis à vis de ce jeu. Ceci étant dit, quelle pondération poser sur cet élément dans la globalité du jeu ?

Le jeu contient 41 pistes : 28 scénarisées + 13 cachées.
Sur ces 41 pistes, les phases à pied sont présentes (complètement ou seulement en partie) dans 13 d'entre elles (31%), dont seulement 9 d'entre elles obligent la mitraillette (22%), et surtout uniquement 4 pistes (10%) composées à 100% de ce duo infernal. Ce sont ces 4 pistes-là (et j'insiste : seulement ces 4 pistes-là) qui sont réellement problématiques et compliquées à scorer.
Les autres, associant un autre gameplay et/ou refusant la mitraillette, sont beaucoup plus abordables, et donc sympa à jouer.
Une fois que j'ai pris conscience de cela, j'ai vraiment appris à relativiser ce côté (disons-le) raté du jeu à sa juste proportion, et ai donc abordé ma partie beaucoup plus sereinement.

Les phases à pied sans arme -tout comme à l'inverse les phases mitraillette sans être à pied- sont donc largement jouables sans s'énerver une fois le coup de main acquis.

Au delà de ces phases à pied, les pistes cachées sont idéales pour pousser les particularités de gameplay (grappin, Turbo-Flip, plateforme pure…) dans leurs derniers retranchements, au point de trouver des subtilités de jouabilité insoupçonnées dans les chapitres de base : un très bon point à mes yeux, assurément.

Durée de vie pour le 100% (tout le contenu débloqué, tous les médailles A+ obtenues) : 35h.

Concluons enfin ce petit compte-rendu : que retenir de Trials of the Blood Dragon ?
Honnêtement, j'en avais de gros préjugés pendant longtemps, mais y jouer longtemps après sa sortie mouvementée m'a fait aborder tout ça la tête froide, et j'y ai donc globalement passé un très bon moment. Ou pour être plus précis : très rafraîchissant. Présenté et effectivement ressenti comme un jeu-blague sur la forme, il n'en reste pas moins réellement travaillé sur le fond, dans le but de proposer une alternative riche en petites nouveautés et sensations nouvelles. Une démarche tout à fait assumée de la part de RedLynx, quitte même à dépasser certaines limites qui donneront lieu à quelques dérives regrettables, sans oublier quelques bugs jamais bienvenus.

I'm not too familiar with the Trials and Far Cry games, so to me, this an all-new experience. Take my opinion for what it's worth.

GAMEPLAY:
--- Basically you control a pair of characters through obstacle courses either on bike, foot, tank, and other various means.
--- All movement is in 2D, but the backgrounds and stages are 3D rendered.
--- The goal is to navigate around the obstacles and get to the finish line in the shortest amount of time possible, after which you get graded on your performance.
--- Memorization of the traps and stage layout are key to getting a good grade.
--- Controls are very simple, involving a button for acceleration, braking, and left/right directionals for tilting your vehicle (think Excitebike for the NES). Similar controls for foot missions, but involve jumping/shooting/platform elements. Simple to play, but tough to master.
--- Lots of unlockables and hidden goals in certain stages.
--- High replay here if your aim is to be the best and unlock everything the game has to offer. Otherwise, expect 5 or so hours to finish your first time through.
--- Supports either keyboard or controller inputs.

GRAPHICS:
--- Looks sharp and runs nicely on my system, which is 5 years old. As usual, visit any game's Steam page to ensure your system can handle it.
--- Vibrant colors reminiscent of the 1980's to help capture that decade's feel.
--- As mentioned before, movement is 2D, though the camera angles may change somewhat depending on the stage.
--- Intermission cutscenes between levels use a kind of cartoon-like animation with 80's inspired elements.

SOUND:
--- Lots of 80's inspired synthwave tunes to help set the tone.
--- Explosions and sound effects sound great on my surround sound setup.
--- The dialogue (and story) can seem a bit childish at times, but might erupt a chuckle or two depending on your sense of humor.

OTHER NOTES:
--- A UPlay account must be created and active while playing this game.
--- Certain DLC items can be unlocked by earning UPlay coins, which are acquired after performing certain achievements

FINAL VERDICT
--- I found this to be a lot fun for what it was. I picked it up for less than $5, and couldn't be happier with my purchase.
--- It's one of those game I'll definitely keep coming back to in order to improve my grades and get better times.
--- If you know nothing about Far Cry or Trials, it's still a simple enough game to pick up and learn without feeling lost.
--- Recommended for those folks who love dirt bike racing games, platformers, explosions, and music/animation with a 1980's feel.

So glad I got this game. I really liked Far Cry Blood Dragon and this is a fantastic addition to the mini-franchise spinoff. The intro is hilarious and the game is full of parody and satire, perhaps more so than the Far Cry game. Just like Far Cry, it is full of epic action and you really feel like a badass when you finish a level with no faults and a good time. The perfect run is elusive yet the gameplay and controls are so fundamentally simple that it's addicting. Furthermore, there's no waiting to restart, it's instant. The art style and music are excellent, as you'd expect, but so are the visuals. It's surprisingly more demanding than I expected at 4K max settings, I get some dips below 60 FPS with a GTX 1060 6GB but overall it's moor than playable and looks decent - better than Hotline Miami at least! Speaking of which, one of the chapters seems to be a direct competitor / parody what with the on foot sections and enemies, level design, masks etc.
Sure, there are some gimmicky and annoying sections where you're not on a bike but when they do get it right, and you have a near-perfect run, the game shines. Leaderboards also allow for near-endless replayability.
I honestly don't understand how this game got rated so poorly. Maybe it's just my kind of game, and this is coming from someone who doesn't follow the Trials series. If you want something satisfying, simple and that is pure skill (i.e. no RNG), even if the skill cap is fairly low, it's a fun game to hop on. The levels are just the right length in terms of the balance between difficulty and content: they're short enough to make you want to replay them and not get frustrated when you fail, but long enough to make it very difficult to get a "perfect" run.

今天把Trials of the Blood Dragon这坨玩意儿打通了，带上隐藏关卡和真结局的收集一共用了5.7个小时。
虽然本作本质上只是Trials Fusion的独立资料片，剧情上沿袭了Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon（远哭3的独立资料片），讲述了传奇赛博突击队员雷克斯柯尔特的儿女，在第四次越美战争时候发生的故事。（没错，在血龙的世界观里，越南佬获得了血龙科技，成为了世界霸主）
游戏剧情就还是很胡逼，和前传一摸一样，但是画风变成了20世纪独立卡通片的风格。但是，如果说远哭3血龙整体是向80年代的科幻作品直径，那我可看不懂特技摩托血龙这是在致敬什么了。
特技血龙的艺术风格，非要说的话，其实和看门狗2的风格很接近。一种说不上是什么鬼玩意儿的地下风格。虽然游戏过场使用了很有新世纪独立卡通风格的手绘动画，但是中间夹杂了很多奇奇怪怪的玩意儿。有多奇怪呢？参考狗2那些尬酷的过场即可。

其实游戏里还是有很多有趣的梗的，其中很多内容对于八十年代末，九十年代初的玩家都是充满了回忆的梗。美式cult片，星河舰队，星际迷航，Power Ranger，铁血硬汉，奇幻故事，高达，哥斯拉，日本动漫美少女，游戏里致敬了很多有趣的梗，但是制作组似乎还不满足，还想加入很多新世纪的梗，结果游戏整体美术风格变得三不像，总之怪怪的。

关卡设计方面，当然游戏里也是有不少还可以的关卡，但是大部分关卡就是一坨屎。特技血龙将横版过关与Trials的特技摩托玩法相结合，游戏里还有很多使用其他载具的关卡，使用喷气背包的关卡，甚至传统的双摇杆射击横版过关。7大章节27小关，加上五个隐藏关，7个还是8个挑战关，似乎可玩内容很丰富。但是并非如此。

这一作让我体验到了，我有生之年玩过的，最他妈糟糕的双摇杆射击，最他妈糟糕的平台跳跃，还有简直和砍掉了你所有手指然后喊你用古典钢琴弹巴赫一样糟糕透顶的喷气背包关卡。给我感觉这一作的关卡，远远没有Trials Fusion里那些手工设计的关卡来得精巧，只能说是小作坊级别的游戏，还不如4399上某些flash游戏。

我觉得我也算是有毅力，真的用快六个小时把这部游戏打通了。耐人寻味的是，游戏的剧情并没有讲完，结局也是开放性结局。Blood Dragon血龙这个IP也算是育碧手上……怎么说呢，与核心IP八杆子打不到一块，也不是某些试水用的新IP，血龙这个IP一直作为别的游戏的独立资料片而存在，我也渴望在未来看到以“Blood Dragon”为副标题，讲述Half human, half machine, and all America的Rex Power Colt与两个孩子展开新的冒险。

顺便这游戏音乐倒是很牛逼，甚至还有完全致敬《迈阿密热线》的曲子和关卡

Never Played Trials Fusion, I probably will give it a second look now.

I loved Far Cry Blood Dragon. This game has the same vibe and humor... The focus is solving the levels so the characters are less important, but twin children of Rex and Doc is a pretty good choice.

I have been less than thrilled with Ubisoft games since about 2015, with the possible exception of "Steep"... this game is also quite fun.
The pursuit of perfect runs became quite addictive and I have not found it boring to re-run the same level dozens of times.

Not sure why this is not more highly rated, but i quite enjoy it.
