the parts that are out now are great.
kind of a tougher game, but a really fun more biology based evolution game.
i really love the detail pages where you can read more background about the different organells

Im gonna start this off by warning those who want Spore 2.0... This aint it.. Atleast not yet.
Right now Thrive is still at the cellular stage and without a shadow of a doubt the cell stage is by far more advanced and in depth than Spore or any Spore knockoff on the market right now. If you want an in depth biologically accurate cell stage then Thrive is for you.
On the other hand I wouldnt expect a creature stage any time soon tho... What you can expect is that when the creature does eventially role out itll be the best youve ever seen.
An amazing game, the true successor to spore and general evolution simulator games. I purchased this on steam despite it being free on their official website due to how much I love not only the vision but the execution of the team. Good work Revolutionary Games, good work.

The game is neat, I can see the direction its going it could mean some funny stuff.
However, currently its somewhat hard to know how to evolve for anyone that isn't too familiar with evolution or just planning about 3 steps ahead to become what they want. Currently the easiest thing for me to do is just speed run becoming an algae type thing, being a predator is somewhat easy as long as you eat you'll somewhat sustain yourself, but the main issue is compounds decreasing alot between generations as more species start to exist.
Otherwise, this game shouldn't be treated as Spore, it is not really Spore where you can do anything you want. It should be treated as a sandbox evolution game, where you need to pay attention to stats and act accordingly (evolution). You can't just run against the environmental factors and expect to live long.
I recommend this game to anyone that wants to see a somewhat comprehensive evolution sandbox. Currently its
in development and the gameplay isn't too expansive. I do not recommend getting it if you are thinking it's going to be like Spore or if you are expecting tons of gameplay content in its current state.

This game doesn't currently have a ton going on, but that's to be expected. What it does have right now is, imo, pretty promising and I strongly suspect we're going to finally have a game a bit like Spore in the next five years or so with this one. If you, like me, sometimes buy games as an "investment" in what they could be one day, this is a good one to get if you like Spore.
the games balance is pure ass, completely unfun.
This game is the reason I am (and was) the best in biology in my grade (for 3 years in a row) because most of the stuff in game is in real life, for example ribosomes create proteins, right? Well that is what they basically do in game! and it uses scientific wording, like photosynthesis or something. Also really fun to play and really interesting to get into. The reason this report says 7 hrs is because this is on my laptop, my Pc has 150 hours and is really far into it. ove this game, would recommend.
If you liked Spore, but thought it was a little too dumbed-down/scientifically inaccurate, then this is the game for you.
