[u]Recommendation[/u]: Another fun entry in what may be the silliest series of hidden object games Artifex Mundi has published.

[u]Critique[/u]: This is a bog-standard Artifex Mundi hidden object game: it doesn't make sense, it has terrible deepfake character animation, there's a little helper (who looks like a cheap Spyro knockoff), there's a blend of supernatural and fantasy technology, there is a meta-game of finding/collecting certain objects from the "adventure" screens for achievements, you use a coin as a screwdriver, you rescue an imperiled family member, it has a good mix of different types of puzzles that all strongly resemble the puzzles you find in nearly every hidden object game you've ever played, and the hidden object puzzles are generally fair (few instances of not knowing what you're trying to find) and not too difficult (getting the 'solve a puzzle in less than a minute' achievement is almost a given).

That this is the fifth in the series doesn't matter - any connection with the previous games is tenuous at best, and there's nothing you need to know from the series that will help you understand the plot better. Are you playing the same protagonist from the previous games? You can assume so, but it doesn't really matter if you are or not. The main villain MAY have appeared in an earlier "Secret Order" game, but if so, this is the first time he has a name: Chiron, a leader of the Order of the Dragon. I'm not sure that the Order of the Griffon - the order we have represented in the previous games - is even mentioned in this game. Most of the game takes place in an undersea biodome, but it's never clear WHY it's taking place underwater: there's nothing in the story or setting that involves the ocean until you've finished the main game and are playing the bonus chapter, where the ocean becomes a setting for a couple of adventure screens. But why worry about the plot? Like most hidden object games - and particularly the "Secret Order" series - the plot is just a loose framework for stringing a bunch of unconnected adventure screen locations together in a series: you enter a new location unrelated to the last, interact with an NPC there who gives you a mission/asks for help with a random task, and then you move from one adventure screen to another in that location, solving puzzles and gathering items until you fulfil the random task and can move on to the next location that has absolutely no connection with the one before or the one after. These locations include: an undersea facility, a castle in the sky, a dream dimension, and so on.

All of this is pretty standard, and feels comfortably familiar to me. One of the few things that annoyed me in this game was when you arrive at a new location and can see a dragon egg and/or a morphing object (the two collections that you are trying to complete for achievements), you cannot click on them (or anything else) until you talk to/interact with the NPC who is waiting to demand that you help them with some random nonsense that they should be able to handle themselves ("I lost my gloves").

Also, why is it referred to as "the Buried Kingdom" when the whole game takes place under the ocean? Shouldn't it be "the Undersea Kingdom?" That was jarring, every time.

[u]Review[/u]: You play a woman [spoiler]whose archaeologist friend is kidnapped in a hilarious cut scene where she is on her phone and she is grabbed from behind and the very near-sighted villain grabs her phone, brings it up to his face to see what he's holding, and then ends the call. You take it upon yourself to rescue her. As part of your investigation, you discover that the people who took her are members of the Order of the Dragon, and they are looking to harness the power of dragons for world conquest. The dragons disappeared from our world long ago, leaving for another world which can only be accessed through the Buried Kingdom, which your archaeologist helped find. The Buried Kingdom itself is accessed through a secret science facility on the ocean floor, so you dive down and enter the facility. Going to the world of dragons, you see that the Order has captured the Mother of All Dragons and is holding her hostage so all the other dragons will do the Order's bidding - their plan is to bring the dragons through into our world so that the Order can conquer everything. You put a stop to that by freeing the mama dragon. On the way, you find your friend, who is miraculously still alive, and escape out of the undersea facility.[/spoiler]

I feel I need to put my foot down here, usually I love hidden object games and it doesn't matter if some puzzle feel the same or are similar to some extend... but this game had zero originality and felt like a clusterfest of pipe puzzles from beginning to end.

At least try to jazz things up a bit guys.

Новая редакция игры-головоломки, продолжающей сюжетную линию противостояния ГГ и таинственного ордена. Сюжет тут, в основной своей части, это ширма для оригинальных загадок. Сами загадки стали проще и требуют в основном внимательности. Все картинки отрисованы хорошо и радуют глаз деталями. Игра подходит чтобы "размять" мозги и она достаточно короткая, чтобы не успеть надоесть.

[i]The Secret Order 5: The Buried Kingdom[/i] had the opportunity for a fresh start (after we managed to return to the present in the [url=steamcommunity.com/id/atisz2/recommended/517360/]previous installment[/url]) and to get back on the track where the amazing (and now evanescent) [url=steamcommunity.com/id/atisz2/recommended/399890/]2nd part[/url] ended. While the mentioning of the conflict between the Order of the Griffin and the Dragon Clan seemingly makes this sequel somewhat more coherent and closer to the original, it feels just like an excuse as we visit a magical kingdom deep underwater without any time travel involved (there's an explanation to that though, since the order has decided to destroy every device capable of time travel).

The plot is barely existent: after giving us a quick summary of what happened so far, our high school friend, Julie informs us about her recent discovery: the location of the Buried Kingdom. Shortly after, she is kidnapped by the latest representatives of the Dragon Clan (their leader does actually look like a half-dragon humanoid).

As much as I disapprove this approach - an installment leaving the path laid down by he previous part(s) of a series - as a hidden object game, [i]The Secret Order 5: The Buried Kingdom[/i] functions rather well. There's a large selection of puzzles and minigames with all the necessary elements of the genre. Some of the items must be combined (the ones with a + mark) and there's a special dragon eye which is required to view a past event that occured at the given location. Upon each use, we have to solve a pipe puzzle to recharge it. There's an assortment of valve-, pathway-, measuring-, mirror- and ring puzzles as well. As for the ring puzzle - which can be bothersome - there's one, a 3 circle rotating puzzle that can either take ~half an hour or just a few rotations, depending on whether we know what we are doing or not. I thought I was and I managed to solve it in less than a minute, but it turned out that I moved the matching colours to the wrong side - since the game didn't provide any hints on which colour goes where. Needless to say it's not a very elegant way to prolong gameplay time.

In addition to the dragon eye, we also receive a little dragon helper that can reach things we cannot + can set things on fire, so if we get stuck, we should always check around whether there's anything that can be set ablaze.
As a matter of fact I got stuck at one point, where shoveling coal was the key to progress (I thought the coal being there right at the furnace was enough) as our shovel casually breaks so we can get a handle... for a pickaxe. Also, later on we find a ceremonial dagger that's not strong enough to cut a rope, but it has to be used to force open a grate? The game at least does give an explanation why we can't use otherwise potentially right items at unintended situations - instead of the commonly utilized general error messages - it still feels forced and illogical. I know that hidden object games shouldn't be compared to pure point-and-click adventure games, but relevant item use should be a standard procedure here as well.
One other thing which has been present in several other HOGs before: the cobweb + broom anomaly... why can't it be removed just by our bare hands? :/

Besides being able to choose from preset difficulty modes, several elements, such as hint recharge time, penalty cooldowns can be adjusted separately on a slider and the sparkling effect to reveal hidden object scenes, that's automatically available on casual.

In the bonus chapter we have to save the Buried Kingdom after an explosion and rescue our friend - again. While it's the direct continuation of the main game, it's basically a 30 minutes long fetch quest with lots of items we carry around from screen to screen. The use of the dragon eye also feels forced here, there's a point where it's necessary to remove a piece of cloth to reveal a ladder which we can use to reach our friend, even if it's very apparent that the cloth is concealing something - without the use of the dragon eye...

There are many types of collectibles we have to look out for: blue, green, purple + lava (in the bonus game) eggs and shapeshifting objects. Since locations consist of just a few scenes, it can be easy to walk past some of them.

The graphics are great for a hidden object game and there's quite a variety of different locations - underwater, a fantasy realm and a strange, dreamlike area. Character animations are pretty good too, although some of them appear to be of low quality when compared to important characters.
Again, just like in the previous part, the high quality sound effects and ambient sounds are well done and I really liked the music at certain points.

[i]The Secret Order 5: The Buried Kingdom[/i] seems to be quite far away from the first parts of the series, trying to mix too many things together, but in some way it still has more to do with the originals, than the previous part, which was just about floating between time and space. On its own, it's an OK hidden object game, but if we expect a worthy sequel, we are likely going to be disappointed.

I really, really don't understand why this game is so well received. It's clearly a popular entry in the series considering it does have a sequel, but to me it's super just 'meh' ''average' or '3 star' To me it's just average at best. The puzzles are borrowed from the previous entry with little new variation. Most of the puzzle design is incredibly lazy. They are incredibly repetitive and not that good or creative. Plot is okay, HO scenes are a little better. It's just so average, why does this game have such good reviews? I don't get it's popularity at all.

I did a switch with the HOG game i wanted to play, the criminal minds one had a bug that didn't make me progress further. So i switched to this one even though I didn't really fancy the story line, but the game is really great. The music is amazing too. Short and sweet, the cute pet dragon which you can have and enabling him to do certain tasks is really creative. There is also a chargeable dragon eye which is directly linked to a mini-game that part is very innovative. The artwork is pretty, I think the character art might need work but it's overall fine. Liked the HOG puzzles they have a good creative touch up. The achievements are okay and not that difficult to get if you are a novice HOG player. Overall would i be interested in playing the next game in the series, probably if it really have good reviews.

Uhm....... This game was so different from the other Secret Orders in the series... That I thought I booted the wrong game.

It looks the same... Has the same character and a helper, but... It doesn't feel the same.

It's not necessary bad, however, if you get used to four other games being one way and then it throws you in for a damn strange loop? You either hate it or don't.

I just mindlessly played it. It was odd and rather easy. You guys know that you can hide items better, right? I mean... When I enter the H.O. scene...? I already know what items are going to be needed... WITHOUT looking at the list!

Maybe I played these for too long or... Games like these don't offer much of a challenge nowadays.

Uhm story... I forgot. Like others in the series it had Dragons Versus Gryphins. While that happened and yet.......... It was like "Here friend in danger. Go help friend. Meet bad guy. Oh! Can't defeat him too early! Get thrown off. Walk around for aeons and find yourself back in the place you started... Okay NOW you can defeat bad guy." *Claps*

Where was the Time Travel?! Where was that sexy, overly powerful ship?! I mean... You guys messed everything up in the world...! But it was fun! (And for those who say that the ship was wrecked... TIME TRAVEL. There are OTHER copies of it elsewhere! So shh...!)

Who were any of these people?!

What happened to the family members and the ORDERS?!

WTH was the BONUS GAME ABOUT?!

Also, you said the "Dragon Eye" shows the past, right? Then how in the hell is the "past viewing" ability capable of "physically altering things in the future?" Is it... A powerful spirit...? No. I am not helping you!

Also x2... Why didn't the "Dragon Eye" power work on that hanging blanket in the end? Was it because we could've resolved the issues in the Bonus Game in a few seconds instead? Lol.........!

You want easy and mindless? YOU GOT IT!!!

В целом неплохое приключение с драконами, магией и зельями. Такие приключения у Артифекс довольно частые. В целом скоротать время получилось и достижения довольно простые. При внимательном зрении или при использовании руководства можно пройти за один раз, чтобы найти все коллекционные предметы. А в остальном здесь полный набор плюшек магазина и после прохождения будет ещё одна идеальная игра в коллекцию.

Но всё же издателям и разработчикам стоит поработать над переводом. Тут главный злодей почему-то говорит про себя в женском роде. Также в поиске предметов не всегда точный перевод некоторых вещей. Несмотря на огрехи, проходится довольно просто для уже заядлых поклонников серии.

흥미로운 스토리는 아니지만 보너스 챕터까지 했을때 기승전결 딱 떨어지게 끝나는 스토리.
오타가 조금 보이긴 하지만 이제 제대로 띄어쓰기도 되어있고 무엇보다 발번역이 많이 줄어듬.

퍼즐은 매번 보던거긴 한데 한층 난이도가 쉬워진 느낌.
다만 드래곤 아이 충전 퍼즐은 똑같은 퍼즐만 쓰지 않았으면 더 좋았을텐데..

도전과제용 수집품 중 그린, 퍼플, 블루 드래곤 에그는 본편에서만, 라바 드래곤 에그는 보너스 챕터에서만 획득 가능하며, 변형하는 물체의 경우 본편 16개, 보너스 챕터 4개로 총 20개입니다. 이쪽은 드래곤 에그와 달리 합산이기 때문에 무엇을 놓쳤는지 모르면 메인이랑 보너스챕터를 전부 다 해봐야 하는 불상사가 생길 수 있으니 주의하세요.

중간중간 등장하는 동물들이 참 귀여운데 정작 도우미인 아기 드래곤은 별로 안 귀엽...

[h1]Easy if you are used to the genre[/h1]

This is another in the series of Hidden Object games in the Secret Order universe. Here, we have another story about magical creatures - this time we discover a hidden realm of dragons under the water.

Despite being the fifth in the series, you shouldn't feel like you have to play the others first as it works fine as a stand alone title. There is a (very) brief synopsis regarding previous titles, something about destroying all time machines and outlawing time travel (if you are interested I encourage you to check out the other games), and then it seems to disregard the Order completely, as the story runs its own course around yourself (who could just as well be any random person that discovers the place).

The games and hidden scenes are on the tame side, but having said that there is no need to play on Expert difficulty to get all the achievements. Instead, you are free to customise almost all the gameplay elements, so you can play as easy or as hard as you want. I probably played on the easy side, but one minigame - the sliding rails to get through all checkpoints only once - was surprisingly good.

Pipes puzzles probably show up way too often. This game has a gimmick in the form of an amulet that periodically needs to 'help' you through areas - even if you think you know where something goes, the game won't let you do it until the amulet does its thing. But to power it up it is inserted in these pipes puzzles, so the energy can reach the amulet.

Trust me, you'll get sick of that one real fast.

As there is a lot of repetitive puzzles often encountered in previous games, this title doesn't replay well. You will likely only want to play it once, and be very sure to pick up all the collectables as there are several checkpoints that lock you out of backtracking, and you REALLY don't want to replay the game trying to find them.

Having said that, it is a good game. Best played as a chiller in-between longer RPGs or as a break from MMOs... something you don't have to think very hard at. Alternatively, it could work very well for a much younger audience as it is colourful, has a storybook feel, and is full of cute little creatures. For all I know young kids are the target audience anyway. Which makes me sad, as now I feel like they don't really want me to play it as I'm too old.

Kolejny HOG od Artifexu (a przynajmniej przez niego wydany) - to dalej "to samo". Jak podobały się poprzednie gry, to ta też podejdzie.

Mało literówek, bez poważnych błędów. Grałem chwilę po poprzedniczce, która była wyjątkowo słaba, więc może gra mocno zyskuje w porównaniu, ale była bardzo ok. Nie irytowała tam gdzie tamta. Dalej trochę ograniczają typowe sceny z ukrytymi obiektami, co mnie smuci, ale też te nowe zagadki są ciut lepsze niż ostatnio, choćby dlatego że dostajemy informację, ile interakcji zostało na ekranie, więc jest mniej błądzenia. Przyjemny wieczór, prosta "setka" z osiągnięciami, standard - choć tu chyba łatwiej przegapić opcjonalne rzeczy niż w paru innych.

Though it is short (took me +-4 hours including breaks to finish the game twice plus the bonus chapter once), it is a polished HOG that I would recommend for lovers of the genre. Like most of the previous secret order games, this one has great artwork, above average voice acting and story (still not fantastic, but that's inherent to the low budget genre) and an okay difficulty. My only minus is that I felt the minigames were too easy, perhaps explaining the short playtime. Get it on sale and it's a nice time. I hope the HOG genre will start to develop more difficult games though, if anyone has tips for me please do! I like playing HOG's, but they're almost always too easy.

I am playing through all of the secret order games in order. This was a real upgrade from 4, the puzzles made more sense, the plot made a little more sense, it was a smoother game in general. If I were to start over I probably would skip the first four games and start at five. 6/10

This was middle of the way on the Mountain Crime Requital scale.

Everything was just a little bit on the average, nothing to write home about or anything particularly exciting. It was okay. Some puzzles were repeated a lot, and weren't particularly fun but were also not frustrating so it was so-so. Although the "interact with items" HOP style mini game was nice and I liked that.

Even the story was a little so-so, with a little side trip that didn't seem to add much but padding.

I'd recommend this if the game was on sale.

[h1]Der bisher beste Teil der Serie[/h1]

...oder sollte ich lieber sagen “der bisher am wenigsten schlechte“? Denn so sehr gefallen haben sie mir bisher nicht. Warum? In erster Linie weil kitschig und technisch nicht auf der Höhe.
Teil 1 (nur außerhalb von Steam spielbar) kam noch in der Realität geerdet daher. Damals hatte man versucht (und das zog sich bis in die nächsten Teile), die Cutscenes in 3D zu rendern. Eigentlich nicht schlecht, aber inzwischen halt optisch lange nicht mehr aktuell (Wimmelbildspiele sind ja sowieso eher hintendran). Ab Teil 2 wurde es dann absurd, weil man mehr und mehr in Märchenwelten abgetaucht ist. Und leider waren die Cutscenes pixelig und die Animationen ausbaufähig. So habe ich Teil 2 noch wohlwollend den Daumen nach oben gegeben, danach war es mit meiner Gnade aber vorbei.

[h1]Inhalt[/h1]

Wieder knüpft ein Teil inhaltlich direkt an. Das ist gut, allerdings in dem Fall nicht besonders aufwändig, weil Teil 4 tatsächlich erfolgreich endete. Sarah ist wieder in ihrer Gegenwart angekommen. Eine Freundin, Julie, möchte mit ihr auf ein Abenteuer gehen. Prompt wird Julie allerdings entführt und bei dem Versuch, sie zu befreien, wird man dann auch wieder in eine Zeitdimension geworfen. Dahingehend hat sich also nichts geändert.
Wieder ist man in alten Königreichen unterwegs (wie der Titel schon impliziert), und diesmal steht die Geschichte im Zeichen des Drachen. Man bekommt auch einen Jungdrachen als Begleiter – der allerdings nicht so niedlich designt wurde, wie ich es mir wünschen würde. Er kann höhere Orte fliegend erreichen und auch mal Feuer speien. Na sei’s drum.
Im Bonuskapitel rettet man nach dem Finale nochmal Julie, das Unterwaserkönigreich und schließlich sich selbst. Das Bonuskapitel ist inhaltlich keine Riesenbereicherung, aber auch nicht komplett überflüssig.

Von der Verteilung Realität : Märchenwelt ist es etwa 50/50.
Jedenfalls kommt auch der fünfte Serienteil nicht ganz kitschfrei daher, aber irgendwie verzeihe ich es ihm, vielleicht weil’s mir optisch tatsächlich gefallen hat. Außerdem gab es nach zwei aprupt endenden Teilen mal wieder ein Finale, was sich zumindest spürbar aufgebaut hat. Und einen klaren Bösewicht, der ganz interessant daherkam.

Leider ist diese Ausgabe recht kurz, bei mir waren es vier Stunden für das Hauptspiel und ca. eine Stunde für das Bonuskapitel. Bin ein langsamer Spieler und “anständige“ HOGs ergeben bei mir sonst eher sechs Stunden Minimum.

[h1]Technik/Grafik/Sound[/h1]

Endlich stimmt das optische Gewand. Der Titel kommt qualitativ vernünftig daher. Die Szenen sind zwar recht bunt gehalten, und so surreal die Umgebung damit teilweise auch sein mag (es gibt z.B. auch einen Fabelfuchs mit drei Schwänzen), ich fand es ok. Es wurden zum Glück nicht mehr ganz so viele Epochen in eine Dimension gequetscht wie es noch ganz schlimm im Vorgänger der Fall war.

In The Secret Order 5 ist es mir das erste Mal in einem Wimmelbildspiel überhaupt passiert, dass ein Minispiel verbuggt war. Relativ zu Beginn musste man mit Hilfe eines Magnets einen Zündschlüssel aus dem Gully fischen. Ich holte den Magneten aus meinem Inventar und er war einfach weg. Ich musste das Minispiel überspringen. Es war vom Aufbau nicht der Rede wert (keinerlei Herausforderung und auch kein Rätsel), aber damit fehlt die Errungenschaft, alle Minispiele ohne Überspringen gelöst zu haben :-/
Im Bonuskapitel war mal eine Hitbox eines Wimmelgegenstands zum Verzweifeln klein oder verschoben (am Ende hat's doch noch funktioniert).

Die musikalische Untermalung hat mir gefallen. Es gibt ein paar schöne Szenerien, die davon profitieren. Ich erinnere mich an eine Szene mit einem Ofen, die auf mich sehr gemütlich wirkte.

[h1]Gameplay[/h1]

Vielleicht hat auch der Flow des Inventars und sämtliche Minispiele und Wimmelbilder dazu beigetragen, dass ich diesen Teil mehr mag. Alles hat gut funktioniert.
Die Wimmelbilder sind zu einem Teil Aktionsbilder, in denen man innerhalb der Szene mit gefundenen Dingen arbeitet.
Das Inventar ergibt Sinn bzw. leuchtet ein.
Die Minispiele sind meist Standard, keins ist zu schwer, und es ist auch das ein oder andere dabei, was man nicht schon ständig in HOGs dabei hat.
Im Bonuskapitel war die ein oder andere Sache nicht mehr ganz so glasklar (Inventar und auch mal ein Rätsel).

Man kann übrigens viele Parameter des Schwierigkeitsgrades individuell einstellen, z.B. Cooldowns oder Tipps, Glitzern und sowas.

Auch in diesem Teil gibt es Sammelgegenstände zu finden. Abgesehen davon, dass so etwas leider zu Beginn nicht kommuniziert wird und man dann irgendwann zufällig eins findet, während man schon drei verpasst hat, sind es hier übertrieben viele. Man sammelt vier(!) Arten von Dracheneiern und zusätzlich noch Chamäleonobjekte. In einem teils surreal überladenen Spiel fällt sowas erstmal überhaupt nicht auf ^^
Das Bonuskapitel hält die vierte Art von Dracheneiern bereit, führt aber tatsächlich die Chamäleonobjekte aus dem Hauptspiel fort.

Die Reihe hat sich endlich verbessert, die Qualität stimmt, ich habe wieder Hoffnung. Mal sehen was der Rest bringt.
Aufgrund der Kürze warte man besser auf einen Sale.

This game is very SHORT, so consider that when thinking if it's worth it, but it plays pretty well. Pretty standard hidden object game with a crummy story and (mostly) simple puzzles.

On the achievements: I did skip a puzzle because my friend was impatient, argh. As for the collectibles, there are MANY spots where you're suddenly whisked away and can't go back, so that's the fault of poor game design.

I don't have much to say about TSO5 that I haven't said about previous games. This is not a series with much variation, change or improvement between sequels (other than the massive change in tone and style between TSO1 [not available on Steam] and TSO2).

There weren't any of the glitches from TSO4, so that's good. This game's characters and its cartoon villain aren't based on caricatures of real men from history, so that's good, too.

The game's opening movie says that the Order decided to ban time travel and destroy the time machines. Time travel was the Order of the Griffins' whole business, so I don't know what they're supposed to be doing any more. Indeed, TSO5 isn't even a mission for the Order.

This is a bizarre direction for the series to go down and I'm intrigued enough by it that I'm going to immediately play TSO6 to see where it goes lol.

Und nun muss Sarah erneut "The Secret Order: The Buried Kingdom" ran im Fünften Spiel von Artifex Mundi, muss sie nun ihre Freundin Retten, die von einem Drachen Clan gefangen gehalten wird. Die Wimmelbilder sind hier recht gut gemacht teils auch etwas schwerer was dem spiel auch gut kommt, da sie im Vierten teil doch wie dessen Rätzel zu einfach waren wurden sie hier etwas schwerer gestaltet. Die Landschaften sind Wundervoll gemacht, die Story geht halt erneut weiter und da uns im Vorgänger Nubi an unsere Seite war kommt nun ein kleiner Jung Drache zur Unterstützung an unsere Seite ich kann es eben so empfehlen wie die Vorgänger.

I quite enjoyed this one, it's definitely a good addition to the Secret Order series.

Pros:
- Map allows fast travel.
- Map shows which locations have an action available.
- Ability to skip dialogue.

Other:
- It took me 2hrs to complete the base game and half an hour for the bonus chapter, with the remaining time being multiple replays in order to get the last achievements.

Maybe it's just me, but this was even easier than the last one and more repetitive. And if you also found yourself uncomfortable with the shaman in the previous game, you'll also cringe in this one. I played it since I paid for it and did the first four, but I wouldn't have stuck with it otherwise. So yeah, content warning if you care about representation of indigenous cultures, otherwise it will fill up a couple of hours of your time but not much more.

The Secret Order 5 is dramatically better than 4. For anyone who played that, I hope you didn't give up!

Everything works in this game. The graphics are, while still on HoG quality, pretty good. The puzzles are fun with some brain teasers but nothing too hard. The story is decent and the sound quality as well as the music is good.

Overall this was a satisfactory game, especially at reduced price. The art is absolutely gorgeous and there are plenty of different environments to enjoy. Some of the spatial puzzles were pretty tricky, but I did manage them all without skipping or looking for cheats or even using many hints (because I'm stubborn) so I felt accomplished at solving them. One really useful feature I can't thank the devs enough for is the map, which allows you to see which areas contain unsolved tasks, otherwise I'd have been running back and forth forever trying to work out the more obscure clues!

Now for some of the cons. The biggest one is that although I collected all the dragon eggs (yes, all, including the lava eggs in the final unlocked scenario) I didn't win the achievement! That was a huge disappointment. No idea what went wrong there, but that needs fixing. The second disappointment is the actual story itself, which was sketchy and lacked continuity. Your very first task is to find the secret coordinates to the buried kingdom so that you can stop the Order of the Dragon from getting to it, which is why they kidnapped your friend, right? But when you finally arrive... the Order has been there all along, making themselves at home and subjugating the local dragons. Wha..? You have to find the hidden coordinates and then the hidden objects required to unlock the undersea portal to enter, so there is no way they could have snuck in ahead, it makes no sense. Oh well.

At this point, I'd also like to ask how 1) using only a spear gun, you could tip over an ENTIRE sunken ship, and 2) how that would make any kind of watertight barrier... I don't have a problem with mixing magic and physics, but when you do use physics as a solution, it should follow the proper known laws. This was just completely illogical and, like a couple of other actions in the story, I only achieved by random clueless clicking around on the screen, because there was no way I could have guessed what should happen. It's a minor gripe though as most actions made sense once you found the right tool for the job. (On that note, you could wish your character, having found a good sharp knife or sawblade or whatever, would KEEP it for future use... but that's the nature of these games!)

My final point isn't really a 'con' as such, just that I found the juxtaposition of elements a little jarring. You have an undersea world with dragons and magic and old fashioned trappings - knights in armour, horses and carriages etc. - and yet, this whole environment is somehow maintained by very modern, Jules Verne style machinery... Who set it up then, and who - even if it was a secret order of lore keepers - stuck around to maintain it? That felt like another inconsistency to go along with the Order of the Dragon somehow having found their way here already, purely to advance the plot without an actual logical and consistent storyline. In other words, great environments, each very well thought out within context, but strung together like mis-matched beads on a necklace.

I've got to say that, overall, despite the satisfactory challenge of the puzzles and the beautiful graphics, the lack of story consistency and the achievement glitch makes me hesitate to try another of these games. I started with #6 because I liked the sound of dragons (and, yes, you do get a baby dragon as a helper but... he really doesn't do much) so I hope the earlier games are stronger and they were just running out of ideas by this point. I'll give it a 6/10 because I was gripped to continue playing right to the end, and the art really is gorgeous, so I will recommend the game, but I wouldn't pay its full asking price.

Another neat entry to the series!

This time, with less of a huge mix with greek and egyptian Gods and mythology, and more on the story of the game itself... telling a bit more on the arch enemy of the Secret Order, the Dragon Clan.
The tiny companion this time is... a tiny dragon. xD
Because of course just because the arch enemy Dragon clan is evil, doesn't mean dragons themselves are evil. :P
This could almost be seen as a bit of a conclusion or a step towards conclusion of the series... but as there are 3 more entries to play on my list, I guess it isn't. :P

Good graphics, modern mechanics and not major problems on this one that I could see.

It has a bonus round, going after a protagonist friend I think, on a sunken lost city under the sea.

于是在紫色龙蛋5个，绿色龙蛋5个的时候，蓝色龙蛋只有3个，肯定以为自己漏了啊，结果不是，蓝色全部在后面，这……

I think this is the best one so far! I really enjoyed the puzzles, all the areas were beautiful (especially the underwater ones), music and voice acting were great, and the plot was fun (if a little silly as always) and a cool departure from the constant time travel of the other installments. Characters were much improved overall as well - still a smidge janky in cutscenes, but overall very decent. I'm very happy with this one! 8/10

한국어가 가능한 외국인을 썼는지 예전에 성능 떨어지는 번역기를 썼는지 단어들을 개같이 번역해놔서 생뚱맞은 물건을 찾게 하는
헛짓거리도 줄어들었다

This is 5 of 8 I believe in this series. It gets away from the first four games a little in this one. Which is nice. They've added in the dragons and the cute fox creature is adorable. Game play just gets better and smoother as they build each game. The early games were hard to play. You would have trouble handling inventory, grabbing items or even following the story line. All those problems have been worked out by the time they got here.

Recommended if you find it on sale. Strong on puzzles and HOP, weak in story line and characters as per the norm for the AM monster. I got 6 hours out of it with the bonus story, spending extra time on one aggravating puzzle that I had to skip but got all other achievements. Bet this one would be a lot more diabolical on a higher difficulty, but that would defeat the purpose of decreasing my stress level.
