Storyline

Social and economic conflicts have rocked the world. There is just one metropolis that can boast stability, but even this city only has enough resources to maintain a precarious balance of power. The authorities decided to create an algorithm that could build a perfect city for all segments of the population. This project gave birth to Iris, an artificial intelligence designed for building a utopia. Welcome to Technotopia!

Seems another in a long line of broken and unfinished games that for reasons of greed hasn't been pulled down from Steam. Shame, it has a nice 'Metropolis' look to it, but it makes no darn sense at all.
One thumb down, might be worth fifty cents for the visuals.

Мой создатель пришел к выводу, что для оптимального функционирования системы необходимо лишить людей возможности отключить меня. Потребовалась значительная работа. Алчность, гордыня, жажда власти, страх - мы играли на всех этих слабостях, манипулируя, шантажируя, сталкивая их друг с другом. Это была довольно эффективная стратегия. В панике они даже убили моего создателя. Впрочем это только повысило мою функциональность, теперь можно было не оглядываться на малоэффективные конструкты морали и нравственности. Вскоре мои оппоненты исчезли и все рычаги власти оказались под моим полным контролем. Поэтому можете не беспокоиться, гражданин - пороки человеческих лидеров больше не помешают Вам быть счастливыми. Lovely little city-builder with pleasant aesthetics and music which can be completed in a matter of few hours.

I recommend this game because it can be purchased for very little with a discount and because it is never frustrating, but I wouldn't say that it is a [i]good[/i] game: the mechanics by which it is governed are very simple but also confusing, so much so that you will often and suddenly find yourself in a game over state, but the game isn't really affected by it anyway, and it restarts from where you were as if nothing happened. As if the developers were to say: we know this makes no sense but we don't want to punish you for it, so go ahead. The main storyline itself finishes by saying that the rules you have played by until then do not govern Technotopia anymore... but then you carry on playing with them forever anyway.

It feels like Technotopia is a very polished proof of concept for a larger game. In which case, I very much look forward to Technotopia 2.

Technotopia мне очень понравилась. Меня изначально привлёк визуальный стиль. Но как запустил я сразу полюбил игру за музыку и за то то что она расслабляет. Нет, есть моменты когда ты смотриш как вот прям сейчас не проиграть и почему вдруг у тебя дол какойто фракции скакнул не с того не с сего. Но игра в целом медитавная. Спасибо разработчикам)

Direction artistique appréciable, soin du détail malgré une modélisation minimaliste, des couleurs et une ambiance reposante
Il n'y a qu'une seule musique tout le long du jeu et elle fait assez vieux ! Au bout d’un moment je n’en peu plus de l’entendre en boucle.. 💥

[h2]Histoire[/h2]

Scénario assez nul finalement et c'est un peu dommage. Les dialogues manquent de maturité ! On est censé s'entretenir avec l'élite politique mondiale et j'ai l'impression de gérer une garderie !
Les plans stratégiques ne sont pas si stratégiques que ça, les retournements de situations sont prévisibles, le scénario est assez plat alors que ça aurait pu être justement la force de ce jeu ! Une profondeur narrative plus conséquente aurait été appréciée.
D'ailleurs, avec l'avancée de l'IA maintenant, je trouve que celle qu'on incarne est.. assez bête finalement en comparaison !
La grande méchante qui fait un assassinat hyper secret de fou, soit disant on la grille avec de simple caméra de surveillance 😅 mdr... C'est hyper plat comme twist ! Elle se défend en disant que les vidéos ont été truquées et même pas 2 lignes de dialogues plus tard elle capitule et collabore .. Sérieux ?! J'ai connu des enfants de 10 ans plus tenaces !
Et alors le plot twist de la fin… Une évidence depuis le début ! C’est navrant !

[h2]Gameplay[/h2]

Le système de progression est sympa. La défaite n’est pas punitive car on avance à chaque fois dans l'histoire et les technologies, c'est bien pensé. En vrai, on pourrait jouer n'importe comment, comme un gros noob, et ça avancerait toujours quand même !
Les informations ne sont pas toujours claires, ça manque d'infobulles. On a du mal à comprendre pourquoi les taxes montent et surtout comment les réduire. Les trous, ils servent à quoi? Comment je sais si un bonus sera +50 points de faction ou un bâtiment spécial à l'avance? Après un bon nombre d'heures de jeu, on comprend tout ça en testant, mais ça aurait été mieux d’avoir l’information en survolant les éléments à la souris.
D'ailleurs, ce manque de maîtrise dans ce jeu me maintient paradoxalement dessus parce que j'ai envie de trouver l'équilibre et je manque d'informations alors je teste des choses.. Mais c'est dur de diagnostiquer justement l'impact de mes actions sur le résultat de mon économie.
Du coup, ça me fait un peu jouer en mode bourrin "balécouilles" alors que je devrais me sentir comme une super entité toute puissante qui façonne le monde machiavéliquement à l’image de mes ambitions sans limite [b]MOUAHAHAHHAHAHA !!! 😈[/b]

Il y a un mode endgame mais j'ai toujours du mal à décrypter quelle est vraiment la bonne stratégie. J'ai l'impression qu'on ne peut que perdre, ça manque clairement d'une encyclopédie avec les upgrade à débloquer etc.. Pour savoir où j'en suis dans ma progression car, quand j'ai fini une partie, je débloque des bâtiments mais je ne sais pas trop vers quoi je me dirige ? Est-ce que je suis à 90% ou à 10% du jeu ?
ça ressemble à un jeu qui n'est pas terminé. 🧐
Les impacts des évènements sont-ils variables ? D'ailleurs.. Qu'est ce qu'ils font exactement ? Aucun score, aucun classement, rien ..

[h2]Conclusion[/h2]

Le jeu est bien dans l’ensemble, je m’y suis bien amusé et je vais encore faire quelques parties pour voir jusqu’où je peux aller.
La DA est bonne, l’ambiance générale aussi, ce qui permet de jouer longtemps en restant concentré sans trop se fatiguer mentalement.
Il y a un peu de challenge, ce qui maintient le joueur attentif et intéressé
Pour le prix, je le recommande très largement !

A relaxing card game with pleasant visuals and atmospheric music. What I really liked is that it’s not just random building without a purpose, there’s an actual story that guides you through the game, so you feel some sense of challenge and direction. I genuinely enjoyed the time I spent playing it.

At the same time, there’s a small feeling that it could offer more. The game has potential to be expanded, maybe with some DLCs, to give players a reason to come back. Still, for this price (23 PLN / 6 EUR), especially with occasional discounts, it’s definitely worth it for a few enjoyable hours of gameplay 😊
