It's a fantastic game and I can say that its a weapon what you can use against overweight! Through the winter I gained circa +10kg what I want to get rid off. When I play, I don't realize that like a cardio training, but it is and if you want go more intense ... put fitness wristbands on. I bought 1,5kg wristbands filled with sand ... game changer! I recommend the game for everyone who likes music, dancing, moving ... its a fun way to burn calories and be or stay fit!

Playing on Quest 3 with BoboVR halo strap, wirelessly using a Davolink "Kevin" dedicated VR access point, streaming via Virtual Desktop on a 5070 Ti / 7800X3D. This game is exhilarating and a fantastic way to enjoy music.

I'll admit I'm not too big of a fan of "dance" music and EDM, but between the 80s and 90s and Muse stuff and some choice cuts from the built-in songs, plus a lot of purposeful picks on the Synthriderz custom song / beatmap site, I've found PLENTY of tunes that I enjoy a lot. The Birdhouse In Your Soul custom map might be my all-time favorite, but the Muse Starlight Experience is also incredible.

I also really appreciate the variations and configurability built into the game. There's a variety of ways to go from mild and chill to tremendously challenging, and everything in between. I've even enjoyed SEATED Synth Riders by using a reduced world scale in the SteamVR quick menu (but most of the time I'm going 1.0x in SteamVR and scaling UP Synth Riders a bit using the built-in setting, so my side-to-side and top-to-bottom spread is extensive and gives a great workout).

I never thought I would do well at these types of games but my skills have improved quite a bit over time, which is a satisfying and gratifying experience. Overall this game has become an absolute staple of my daily VR intake / consumption.

This is one of the best rhythm games you can play.
Addictive gameplay with many challenging play modes.
And you can add custom scenes and songs to it, just like Beat Saber, to extend the playtime endlessly.

Ability to customize the way you play for every song is awesome, but i prefer the feeling of cutting throught cubes (available in another game). Still a must buy for VR players.

당연하겠지만 리듬게임을 하는 사람은 가오를 부려야함 리듬게임과 가오는 일심동체라 말해도 상관없을 정도로 가오는 중요한거임, 이 가오에 충만한 나머지 신스라이더에서 추구하는 리듬겜 즉 댄스와 같은 부드러움은 걍 무시까고 EDM에 춤추는 VR낀 요코즈나로 만듬, 심하면 걍 리듬 조차 무시까는 경우도 많음

이 지경으로 만든것 중에서 탑급이 OSU(핑딱)인데, 걔네들도 리듬맵 개판으로 만든건 개 많지만 물량으로 압도하는지라 체감이 안되는데 체감이 되는 경우가 나듣노 나좋노임 나만듣는거 나만 좋아하는 노래 이런거 찾을때는 똥구데기 같은 비트맵을 억지로 참던가, 아니면 지가 만들어야함

이 게임이 딱 그 길을 걷고 있음, 물론 내 말은 커스템맵이 잘못됐다는건 아님 필요했고 없으면 망했음ㅇㅇ

이건 순전히 맵을 만드는 유저가 적어서 생기는 문제임, 단점이 그거임 맵을 만드는 사람이 압도적으로 적고 거기에 잘만들고 부드럽게 만드는 사람은 또 적음

그러니 나는 작업하러 가겠음 ㄹㅇ로 게임이 아까워서라도 만들어야 겠음

What can I even say about Synth Riders! I adore rhythm games of all kinds. I own high end controllers, I even have a custom SDVX Valkyrie cabinet setup. This game is a big part of my rotation and I love it. The custom song support, and the quality of the DLC songs, is out of this world good. This is deserving of maximum praise. I don't even think I've written another Steam review before now and I've been on here for like a decade.

The DLC is also worth it because the notes are made with care and have all the difficulties, unlike a lot of custom stuff (though the custom stuff is amazing often times as well). Honestly, very few notes

This game is so much fun and it's a surprisingly decent cardio workout. I got hooked on my first play and ended up doing 4 songs back to back only to realize I was sweating my ass off and my glasses were fogging up. The visuals are excellent and the tracking and gameplay feel incredibly smooth. And I love that you can jump in for just one song or turn it into a full workout. This feels like a must own for any VR library, even just to mix things up in between games. I highly recommend it.

Way better than Beat Saber in comparison. Tried both on Meta Quest's store and found Synth Riders to be the peak of VR rhythm games. This is an actual music rhythm game. It gets you moving, not just your wrists. Deserves more recognition. A must-play.

Какашина, в базовой игре мало треков. Нет кастомных треков от пользователей да и вобще возможности такого делать. Хочешь еще треков, купи их отдельно, и это будет дорого. 1 раз всего в неё заходил, больше не буду, лол, сейчас аналогов битсейберу доступных по цене полно с кучей треков сделанных более качественно.

With the variety of modes/modifiers [spin, speed, force, etc.] and the amount of songs, Synth Riders is my go to for cardio workouts [joined by other great games like Pistol Whip and Beat Saber]. The Twitch integration is also chaotic fun, having viewers funk with the colors, speed, add robots that shoot you and more. Also has LIV support so you can put yourself in the game [i.e. record or stream yourself in mixed reality]. Good stuff.

It did not expect that a VR rhythmic music game would be able to surpass beat saber. But wow this one did it big time. Hardly can play beat saber anymore after this.
For me it has a better movement flow that feels more like dancing with the track. It also is not killing your wrists on harder difficulties. It has a nice music selection with tracks that are really fun to play/dance along. Especially all the electronic synth music. (scandroid, dead can dance, etc.) Also the production quality feels very good with a lot of options, stages you can set up just to your liking on how to play the game.

Much prefer this to Beat Saber thanks to the looser and more dance-like motions. Easier on my sore wrists, and much better exercise, especially on force mode. Default songs and DLC are a bit mixed but there are a few bangers. Somewhat limited amount of custom tracks available.

Once you've gotten used to the game and found your rhythm, it really starts to feel like you're dancing. However, it only becomes truly interesting when you download custom songs, where the difficulty can increase dramatically. At that point it feels more like dodging bullets, and it makes me sweat so much that I'd honestly say it's the best workout I've ever had.

I've played a number of rhythm games over the years, having been in VR dev before these ever came out. Synth Riders is by far my favorite. Of them all, this game encourages the most full body movement in time with the music. I've found that if I just let my lower body follow that, then my hands end up in the optimal place just on their own; making the experience both intuitive and dance-like. I've also taken some dance classes and feel the training here has helped a lot with balance and timed motion. Plus, the fan community has a ton of free content, and (unlike the um, 'sword music wrist twitch' game) the team at Synth doesn't routinely break all of the fan content.

I use this game as a tool for losing weight. In this respect it is great and fun but technically it is quite lacking. If you just want to train your brain and break some records in rhythm games then I would rather recommend other similar games. Overall it lacks more content, a stronger community, more tools to customize gameplay, events and online tournaments and much more. Personally I would rate this game 8/10 because it works great for what I use it for but in general as a game it needs a solid rework.

I had this game for a while, probably from a Humble Bundle, but never played it.

I recently broke my wrist, and as such my ability to game is near zero. I was looking in my library for a game to play that didn't require a lot of button inputs.
I figured I'd give Synth Riders a whirl, since I can't play other games, both VR and non-VR.

It's perfectly accessible for me! With the cast, I can barely hold it, and can't use my thumb. I can hold the knuckle controller (Valve Index) and press the trigger, that's it. Thankfully that's all I need.

I finally have a game I can play while I'm wearing this stupid cast... and it's SO MUCH FUN.
I don't have Beat Saber, but I want it. However from reading other reviews, this is apparently better, so maybe I won't get it.

Great game, works fine with the PS VR2 and the new OSS PS vr2 dll. Working on lazy eye coordination. B ut honestly, a few of the tracks remind me of old juggling routines with multiple partners. Will be trying my hand a adding custom songs. Again, great VR experience.

Just wow. Started playing beat saber on original PCVR release many years ago but never tried Synth Riders.

Eventually bought it slightly discounted in a steam sale and forgot I'd bought it. Months later started playing, and uninstalled beat saber because it felt one dimensional after Synth Riders.

Currently playing valve Index in 120hz mode and 250% super resolution (RTX 5090) and 160% brightness with HTC Vive Pro controllers.

Always using immersive mode (all scoring gui turned off) I like to call it "the flow machine" because it gets me moving and grooving like nothing else I've tried in VR.

Hitting the notes and riding the rails provides a hugely entertaining and immersive experience that will punish you hard mentally and physically on the higher settings but can be setup in many ways making it very accessible.

There are many great songs and some real bangers that will have you dancing about and annoying your downstairs neighbours no doubt!

Fantastic stuff, and the developers are very active regularly adding updates. I can easily lose myself in Synth Riders for two hours until I'm dripping in sweat

Very good VR rythm game, can definitelly compete with Beat Saber. Good background enviroments graphics, smooth and engaging gameplay that easily can put you in the flow state. I've followed the long and natural progression from Dance Dance Revolution to Beat Saber and this is my impression from my first day in Synth Riderz.
Edit: Many hours of play later and I've bought the full music collection and Experiences and downloaded all the custom songs (the Beat Saber DLCs never took my interest). Definitely enjoying moving to tracks in a way that is much closer to actual dancing.

I see a lot of comparisons to Beat Saber for this game, but I am going to be honest - I don't really see it. Synth Riders is loads better than Beat Saber in my opinion because the movements feel so much more intuitive to the music, and as a result, the game is a lot more fun and engaging than Beat Saber. I literally want to play until my arms fall off. And there is a really easy way to add custom songs in! This is a must-have VR game.

After playing Beat Saber for 4 years religiously, I can categorically say IT IS NOTHING LIKE BEAT SABER! It has a who different vibe, yes its a rhythm game but different dynamics, music, mapping, scenes and being able to download custom so easily is the best! Loved Beat Saber. If you haven't played any rhythm games on VR buy Beat Saber first, Pistol Whip second, and this last if you've already played the other two for an insane amount of time. The other two feel much better to play, more satisfying, better music, and just overall more enjoyable. Not to say this is bad but it's just fully outclassed and looks like since I played it's gotten worse off of other reviews here.

This Review is now old since Twitch Integration has been readded, I do not know the current state of the game. Leaving this review up to properly thank a staff member for gaslighting me about how the game used to function and that they EVER had anything but dance and force modes. This bridge has been burned.

Sad this game used to be fun, but now its a stuterfest in headset, it locks you out of multiplayer if you reinstall (on a completely new PC), modding support has been removed, and twitch integration has been completely removed (with the PROMISE of it returning).

I'm done with this company as a whole after a long time struggling to support them as a streamer. I was kicked out of their private promoters group for wanting a combined scoring mode and mentioning that I was struggling to keep having fun. This was after spending 9 months and every single weekend volunteering to help promote.

I used to have respect for this company, but over the last 3 years it has become clear that profit drives the decisions for Kluge, and not quality or community. Never reinstalling this absolute trash, and leaving it as a happy memory of what used to be.

Kluge was fun to work with at first, but it has become clear that their ultimate goal of profitability completely supercedes any sense of community, optimization, or sense of quality beyond visual.

I will not be returning to Synth Riders.

i just played 2 rounds in 2 free OSTs in master difficulty in force mode. HOW am i top one in the leaderboard. the game is 7 years old now. i am playing just today for some minutes. i am not even 2 hours in the game and i manage to be first place. ok- other than that. i dont like the way the game is grading and as many people in the reviews said. the good songs are always behind a paywall. nice visuals tho. reminds me of Arcaea if you want play this game i would recommend you to buy it when its on sale.

A jogabilidade do Synth Riders deixa a desejar. Os movimentos são curtos, com pouco movimento e são pouco fluídos, mesmo rodando a 120fps estáveis, a aproximação das notas parece travada como se tivesse queda de FPS na própia animação de aproximação dos "orbs", nada natural, e chega a causar um pouco de náuseas por conta disso. Em comparação, Audio Trip tem bem mais movimento, é mais dinâmico e oferece uma experiência corporal mais rica.

O ponto forte do Synth Riders são as experiências imersivas, que realmente impressionam, além da biblioteca com músicas conhecidas. Porém, quase nenhuma vem no jogo base, e os pacotes custam caro em relação ao preço do jogo.

Não é um jogo horrível, mas Audio Trip entrega bem mais. Se for jogar Synth Riders, já compre com o pacote das experiências imersivas, é o que realmente vale a pena aqui, porém ainda acho que não compensa pelo preço. É ridículo.

Synth Riders est dans la place Vr depuis longtemps , je l'avais chopé dans un bundle pcvr ( le temps des beaux bundles me manque ) , sans jamais l'avoir lancé .

et je dois dire être agréablement Surpris , il s'avère assez agréable, 5 niveaux de difficultés histoire de trouver son juste milieu entre le plaisir et la souffrance . classement mondial et classement amis pour se motivier, et même possible de faire du multijoueur .

Maintenant il est aussi vrai que les musiques proposées dans le jeu de base ne sont pas vraiment mon style , et les Dlc sont quand même pas donné ( à noter que vous pouvez acheter chanson par chanson ) .

Mais si les Dlc vous rebute , je ne puis que vous conseiller d'aller faire un tour sur le site " synthriderz.com " et de vous diriger vers les musiques custom de la communauté .

Car oui il n'y a pas moins de 3800 musiques à utiliser pour le jeu , et même si beaucoup sont en difficulté Expert ou Maître, il reste encore un large choix dans la difficulté Médium ou Hard .

et je suis certain que vous pourrez facilement trouver de la musique qui convient mieux à votre style musical de prédilection

Good game, but song selection is too limited for my liking without having to spend too much money. Only liked 3 of the base songs sadly, End of the Night, Space Rock, and Vampirevania.

i find this much more pleasant and natural than beat saber, synthriders is more like an organic growing dance whilst beat saber is just chaotic whack a mole on crack.

but it is still challenging and physical like beat saber, very underrated, recommend!

I love it, its a really fun workout.

It has a very good music selection too, although I hope they start releasing more synthwave and cyberpunk music, I don't like most of the latest packs.

All decent songs are dlc. All free songs that are included are no name songs from no name bands and are pretty bad imho. Store page is kinda deceptive and will make it appear that you are gettings some decent songs with the game. You are not, they are pretty bad. Only buy on a deeeeep discount. Price is too high for lack of decent licensed music included in main game.

I really enjoyed this game a lot. There is a lot of good music, and the challenge is there. When I was doing well in a song and hitting notes and rails well, it's very satisfying. I worked my way through all the difficulties, but had some difficulty with the final difficulty. I was able to complete some songs, but found there to be a difficulty spike for some that I just couldn't manage. I'm sure I could eventually learn to get good enough to beat all the songs on master, but I don't feel like investing the time. You can see on the scoreboard the perfect scores of the people that demolished these songs on master, and my hat is off to them. Very impressive.

There are enough songs in the base game to keep it interesting for a while. There is some DLC to get more songs, but even on sale and in a bundle, I found the price point to be too high. So that's a pass for me. The price for the base game is fair, but if it's on sale and you are looking for a VR rhythm game, I'd recommend it.

Good rhythm games make you feel like you're participating in the music. This is one of those games. Plus there's an official custom song site ... That alone is an incredible thing for the devs to do. This is one of my most regularly played games, because it makes me feel awesome and I get a workout without even realising. (I also have it from the Meta store with many hours played. I recently switched to Steam so that when I inevitably change my headset, I'll still be able to play.)

This game is a stuttering mess - every track I play will have at least four hiccups in it which completely destroy the flow/immersion. It's inexcusable!
I say this knowing that I have a PC I built less than 12 months ago equipped with an i7 14700K, RTX4090, 32Gb of 7000Mhz RAM, and Samsung SSD drives, and my wifi is 6E. Every other VR title I play is sweet, but Synth Riders leaves a bitter taste of buyers remorse.
What really annoys me is that I when I bought my MetaQuest 3, I played the Meta version during my free access period to the Meta store, and that ran fine. As you can imiagine, I was really looking forward to what should have been the wow factor of running it on my fairly top spec gaming PC. I am so so .... peaved(!) at the developers for such piss poor, inefficient coding. If only I hadn't attempted to play it for > 2hrs

best vr dance and workout rhythm game you can get, endless supply of songs thanks to the free beatmap editor. steam version has slightly better graphics, quest version is better for portability. just get both versions, you will not regret it.

This is a great game and is enjoyed by all of my family. There are some great songs available to get you started but wish the music packs were cheaper. Just go ahead and make a smart piece of software that will take music from another app and create a map automatically. Pretty please?

I originally bought it when it was half the price of Beat Saber, and so many things have been added to the game over the years which is awesome. I don't even want Beat Saber anymore beacause this game looks way better. You can download custom songs as well, which is great!
