One of the best baseball games on steam bar none. Too bad MLB the show is not available on steam but this game more than makes up for it. Most important of all its fun to play and I don't even like baseball that much.

En primer lugar, aplaudamos esos controles. Si alguna vez soñaste con ser el mejor en baseball pero lo más cerca que estuviste fue viendo un partido en TV, esta joyita es tu chance. La jugabilidad es tan amigable que hasta tu abuela podría tirar un strike. Además, los grafiquitos parecen salidos de una caricatura sábado por la mañana – encantador y colorido como ir a un partido en pleno verano.
No dejemos de lado la personalización. ¿Quieres un equipo de puros pelirrojos o de tipos con músculos tan grandes que parecen imposibles? Aquí puedes. Juega con las ligas, sube dificultades, y básicamente haz con este juego lo que quieras, el cielo es el límite... o mejor dicho, el estadio.

Okay, todo muy lindo con los dibujitos y la jugabilidad de ensueño, pero ¿dónde está el drama, el fuego, la pasión? La historia es más básica que manual de instrucciones de microondas. A ver, algo de narrativa no le haría daño a nadie, ¿no? Un poco más de chispa en ese sentido vendría genial.
Y luego está la IA. A veces, siento que estoy jugando contra el equipo rival de un episodio malo de una serie de deportes de los 90. ¿Podemos tener algo más de estrategia, por favor? No solo pelotas lanzadas al azar.

If you like baseball games it can be fun, but the options are really limited and there isn't any kind of training mode for things like batting or pitching. This matters to me because in the time I played it I was only able to manage playing at around 50/99 difficulty (ego as it's called in this game) and didn't really understand what I was doing wrong or how to improve from there. I think later entries in the series added quite a bit, so it's probably better to pick one of those up.
I like this game. I don't like baseball. I don't like sports. I don't even like EA. But I like this game.
If you play baseball you will probably love this game it is really fun I recommend it
It is a very fun game. Quirky in the animations of the characters. Overall very fun to play. Not to mention, its cheap compared to many of the later versions. It also works very well on the steam deck.

I'm a fan of baseball, but I don't really play many sports video games, so I don't exactly have a lot to compare Super Mega Baseball to. However, it is fun and easy to learn, and I enjoy building up teams and playing through seasons. I recommend it.
Que su aspecto caricaruresco no te engañe, este juego presenta un desafío digno para todo amante de este deporte. Cuenta con un estilo arcade muy exigente, que por momentos se puede volver bastante frustrante, por lo que recomiendo no tener nada de valor demasiado cerca (en mi caso, me costó una silla). Y es que todo comienza muy sencillo, pero a medida que el ego va aumentando, el reto se eleva considerablemente haciendo que uno tenga que afilar los reflejos al máximo. Acá es cuando uno debe ser paciente, siendo necesario el desbloqueo progresivo de importantes potenciadores que serán indispensables para conseguir los logros más complicados. Y es que el nivel de progreso en este juego esta perfectamente estudiado y engancha de una manera muy adictiva.
Por suerte los controles son muy precisos, aunque presentan una cierta complejidad que llevará tiempo dominarlos al máximo. El resto del juego no desentona, presentando unas voces burlonas, animaciones vistosas y unos personajes con bastante carisma, con los que uno se termina encariñando u odiando por igual.
En fin, si te gusta el baseball, es de compra obligada.

Soy un padre de 50 años, probablemente una de las personas más viejas que juegan este juego. Soy padre soltero de mi hijo, que ahora tiene 14 años. Mi hijo recientemente descargó Northgard y en menos de una semana, ya había jugado durante más de 20 horas. Desde entonces, este juego ha acercado a mi hijo y a mí nuevamente y ahora también pasamos tiempo juntos fuera de la casa. Este juego me recordó que hay diversión en todo, y nos ha traído tanto a mí como a mi hijo muchos recuerdos felices.
A great casual baseball game. I think other games like The Show can be a little too intricate to be approachable, but this game has the basics. The hitting and fielding mechanics are fairly solid and easy to understand. The pitching mechanic isn't as in depth as other baseball games. All pitchers have 8 pitches available, but some of the mechanics are still there with pitcher fatigue (stamina) and morale (mojo) heavily impacting pitching outcomes. In effect, a tired highly stressed pitcher will be more likely to throw a wild pitch or let one hang too long. Ego levels effect the difficulty, and currently playing at 90 ego. I slowly went up from around 35 to this range and it let me feel like I could still win a decent amount while slowly upping my challenge level. Overall having a blast.

Fun on STEAM DECK, and that is my New Goto for this game, using controller is a nice change the Graphics are awesome and its funny to see the toons get upset

I do not like baseball IRL, but baseball video games can be so much fun! And this one is just arcadey simple fun! Responsive controls, easy to pick up mechanics, fun cartoony graphics and good amount of content to keep things interesting. There isn't a lot available in terms of baseball on Steam, so this is a pretty good option, especially for the price.
the animations are hilarious and the small details like text poppin up just makes the game fun. 10/10 would reccomend.

I love a good baseball game and their haven't been many great ones in a while. When I first saw this I presumed it was just a goofy baseball game due to the graphics and crazy styling of the characters.
Underneath the charm and goofiness is a solid baseball game, with a good season mode to boot.
I only have one issue with the game, if your game crashes for any reason in the season mode the game counts it as a loss. Probably to stop ALT+F4 ragers. But its a shame when your at the bottom of the 9th and your controller dies and plugging it in causes the game to stop responding, yielding in a loss.
I wish I played this much earlier as I want to get SMBB 2 & 3. But the series will probably die.
Metalhead studios seemed like a good bunch with good humour and taste in music. Unfortunately EA has bought them and the franchise will either disappear or be turned into some godawful mess. Prove me wrong EA, bet you cant.

Had fun in the beginning but then the limitations of the game got to me. Ground ball to SS, and the 3rd base doesn't cover his base, so I can't stop a runner from 2nd to 3rd. That's just an example of how weird and un-baseball-like this game plays. Frustrating and it doesn't feel like baseball. Also, pitchers shouldn't have 8 different pitches. Let them specialise like real pitchers.

By far the best baseball game I have ever played. Not a fan of the sport typically.
Could use a few adjustments.
1.Batting system could use a few more precision controls.
2.Setting to change foul hits to not count as strikes.
3.Game was extremely cheap...got it on sale for $2

1.Tutorial during gameplay needs a confirm button. It would disappear before it could be read
2.Could use a full multiplayer experience.
3.inning selection for seasonal play should be implemented.
4.internal guide for how to use the menus would be preferred.
5.No in season trading of players.

Co-op irgendwie nicht so cool, liegt wohl eher am Splitscreen und der Art wie Baseball nunmal gespielt wird, aber solo macht es echt Spaß. Man kann sich seine eigene Mannschaft erstellen und diese immer weiter mit perks aufmotzen. Diese Mannschaft kann man immer wieder spielen, saisonsübergreifend.
Der Schwierigkeitsgrad hier EGO genannt, wird spätestens ab 80 wirklich ein Witz, da einfach alles viel schneller abläuft... er heißt nicht umsonst "GoodLuck!".
Es besteht für die höheren Schwierigkeitsgrade also eine Art von Grindzwang, um sein Team championtauglich zu machen. Man könnte sich vielleicht mit einer Fliege in einen Teleporter stellen und beamen, um mit etwas Glück, deren Reflexe zu bekommen, keinen Plan wie man sonst ein Ego 80 Spiel gewinnen könnte. Aber man verdient auch noch genug Punkte in den loweren Lvls.
Man kann einzelne Matches zocken.. die dauern so um die 20 Minuten oder verschiedene Saisonen mit mindestens 16 Spielen. Schwierigkeitsgrad lässt sich jederzeit umstellen auch während einer Season, dann zählt der Durchschnitt. Höherer Schwierigkeitsgrad bedeutet mehr Punkte, für einzelne Aktionen und Spielergebnisse, mit denen ihr Perks freischaltet.
Es ist gut n bißchen was über Baseball zu Wissen, muss aber nicht sein, das Spiel erklärt sich quasi von selbst und es gibt ein kleines "Nachschlagewerk".
Steuern kann man mit Keyboard und mouse oder nem gamepad.. ez.

A good simulator for baseball games despite its cartoon style.
It was on sale for $1.50 at the exact time I was shopping around for a baseball game to get since I really miss MLB games of old.
Safe to say this looks like an arcadey mess but it is genuinely one of the best non-management Baseball games out there. Simple but hard gameplay and a reasonably deep backend system determining random failures and mistakes.
I cannot wait for the SuperMegaBaseball 3 game to go on sale so I can grab that next.

If you're looking for a cheap/fun baseball game on Steam this is the one. Extra Innings is miles better than RBI Baseball. Picked it up on sale for $2. What more can you want for $2?

I bought this game because it was on sale. Although I have never played baseball in my life before, I thought, "Well this may be a challenge for me!", and bought it.
REVIEW -
There is a tutorial, but it only explains the controls (which is fine, as this game is intended for people who have at least some baseball experience). The gameplay is good; it isn't boring and I actually had fun playing a game based on a sport which I was not familiar with at all. You do get used to the rules after you search them up online and play the game for a bit.
There are no bugs that I have found. There are also no issues (such as game physics issues, and FPS issues (that are NOT caused by your PC)), and everything is "on point".
RATING -
10/10! Would suggest to a person who plays baseball, but not to a person who has no experience in the sport,
