I was a Genesis kid growing up and also enjoyed Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 on the Dreamcast. I haven't really played any Sonic since then. I've heard it's been a lot of down and up with Sonic over the years, so I had tempered expectations going into this one. It's not terrible, and I was having fun for in the first world. It's fun to go fast, bounce off pads, do loops and such. However, after dealing with a lot of control jank in the boss battle, and then experiencing world 2 which was just more of the same, I was left with a feeling of "meh." For some reason Sonic games in the 2020's can be mid and still get a 90% positive rating on Steam.

As someone that’s an overly lover of the Sonic franchise this game was a shadow of what i thought it would be. Objects appearing when you go closer but disappearing when you’re further away. Same repetitive objectives over and over again. Not really that much customisation bar the Birthday thing. Disappointed but not suprised.

So this is a LoZ Breath of the Wild ripoff right? Not complaining, this is the third Sonic game I've actually liked, after Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic Generations. If something works, may as well learn from the best right? Even if it is kinda funny that Sonic was supposed to be Nintendo's biggest rival a long time ago. Only other LoZ BotW ripoff I've played was that Horizon game, but Sonic Frontiers is better than that other ripoff.

I've seen some people deny that this is based on BotW. Not sure why, it's not a BAD thing, I WANTED more BotW gameplay. So let's go collect some not-Koroks, deal with the not-divine beasts, dialogue with the not-champions and not-Fi, maybe climb some not-Sheikah towers, unlock the map in a dozen not-splotches, and learn about the ancient civilization that was destroyed by not-Ganon. At least until the not-Blood Moon resets everything. Totally different! /sarcasm

This game brought back the magic of Sonic for a lot of fans including myself. It paved the way for a better future for the franchise. We have lived and learned and now we can reach for the stars!

Frontiers respects the lore and characters of the franchise, and Sonic works really well in an open world. You also get to play as other characters in the free DLC. This feels a lot like a modern take on the Adventure formula, and I can't wait to see what the next big Sonic game will do.

This game is only fun if you like open world collect-a-thons. The camera and controls suck at times. The game really isn't that challenging. The battles are epic but not challenging at all. The story makes very little sense. It also has a lot of references to things the characters did before (presumably in previous games) which is a bit jarring if you have no point of reference for those games. By the end it was more of a chore than fun, but I was committed at that point. But it is fun to run around super fast and collect things (again, only if you enjoy collecting things for the sole reason of "collecting all the things"). This review is obviously very mixed, but I enjoyed it more than I didn't so it gets a thumbs up.

It took my 36 hours to earn all of the achievements (which could've gone faster as I also perfected some of the following content). But there's a lot of skippable content that doesn't count towards achievements at all. E.g. you can completely skip the time trial challenges found throughout the islands -- I did a few of the first, didn't really understand how they expected you to get S rank (spoiler (not really), it's more than just collecting the balls of light that show up everywhere, they also expect you to get combo attacks which is not obvious at all), saw that they weren't required for any achievements, and never did any more because I didn't enjoy them. There are also a lot of "NPC tokens" that you have to collect on each map to be able to talk to the "story NPCs" to learn more about what's going on (though take it loosely, the story here is not great), but again, once you have collected enough to talk to each NPC on the map, you don't need to collect the rest.

A couple really good things. All points of interest are clearly marked on the map--you won't need to randomly run around to find all of the collectables. There's a built in jukebox that lets you swap between music while playing, so you can always listen to your favorite songs (that you've found so far).

I enjoy video games, not specifically Sonic. If you don't know anything about Sonic but enjoy collect-a-thons, then you'll probably enjoy this. If you enjoy sonic games in general, you'll probably enjoy this and understand all of those references. If neither of those two points are you, then I'd pass.

开放世界实在太不成熟了：玩家不能自由地去想去的地方；地上一堆毫无指引的机关，你不会知道这一串机关终点是哪里(我玩到后面宁可一路跑到目的地也不敢乱踩地上的机关了，稍不留神就把我送到了十万八千里之外)；各种小BOSS总是强迫我进战，更别提好不容易打完了，立马一个星落复活的恶心感...

在本该最擅长的竞速关卡内：S级评分标准不统一，有的初见就轻松S，有的重复多次才能勉强S；有时2D和3D的不统一经常让我跳出地图；各种展示恶意的尖刺、路障等让人血压飙升...

Кто бы что не говорил, но игра все же получилась неплохой. Однако гринд иногда убивает желание играть долгими сессиями, что спасает так это рыбалка с Бигом, которая освобождает от лишнего гринда, особенно в конце, на последнем острове.
Битвы с титанами просто абсолют синема, несмотря на их достаточно простую механику.
Музыка в игре - отличная, как темы на островах, так темы уровней киберпространства, так и темы битвы с титанами(особенно они).

The good: Sonic Frontiers actually has a really nice gameplay loop which really rewards exploration and experimentation. For the first time in a while, most of the set pieces aren't pre-programmed, but actually rely on the physics engine of the game.

The bad: Sometimes the set-pieces are semi-scripted, meaning you have no idea whether to hold down a direction (and risk catapulting yourself miles) or not (and risk falling down a gap). This is especially troublesome with the Towers. Also, imagine this kind of gameplay but with the Forces storyline and setting; exploring an open world with landscapes and cities, say with a Death Egg looming in the background which you get closer to as the game progresses. Also, the snippets of "boost" gameplay are a bit of a detriment, and way shorter than the levels even in Forces. Oh and most of the storyline isn't great (though the flashbacks to classic Sonic games plot are pretty cool and ground it)

There's a hint of something good here, but it doesn't quite hit the mark. Sonic finally doing something more than just [i]running[/i] again is something they should do more of. There are lots of interesting spins (ha) on the traditional formula if you're willing to give it more of a chance than I have. If only Frontiers didn't look visually worse than Sonic Unleashed (2008).

And if I [i]ever[/i] see Green Hill, Chemical Plant, or Sky Sanctuary again: I will flip my ♥♥♥♥.

Sonic did not come back till Shadow gens. This game has been so glazed and romanticized it has put a dent within the Sonic community. Please if you're planning on playing this game for the first time or replaying the game don't listen to what others say find your own opinion.
Because behind the curtains this isn't much better from forces in terms of characterization and gameplay.

[h1]オープンワールドでやってみたかったことを詰め込んで途中で投げ出したようなイメージ[/h1]
音に関するこだわりはすごく良かった、BGMはもちろん上手くコースを回れたときのコインのチャリチャリ感は癖になる。(多分開発者パチンコとか好き)
ただ、問題はコースを上手く回れるようになる迄にストレスを感じることでギミックやカメラワークが直感的ではなく｢作者の意図を読み取りなさい｣状態であること。奥行きが分かりにくくて落ちたり良く分からないまま2・3度やり直した後｢あぁ、こうして欲しいわけね｣と言う行程が延々と繰り返される。
カメラ周りの分からん殺しも割と多く、3Dと2Dのコースを行き来するために強制固定カメラが何度もでてくるが、この切り替えが唐突で操作も前入力で画面右に進んだり、右入力で画面右に進んだり書いていても意味が分からない。
戦闘周りもこの傾向が強くパターンを把握するまでに何度も死に続けることになり、モンハンやダクソならまだしもスピード感を感じたくて購入したなら間違いなく苦痛に感じる。
ストーリー周りも一本道でまともなサブクエすらなく、広大な無人島に大量のアスレチックを作って一人で遊んでるような寂しさを感じる瞬間がある。
後はオープンワールドにしてはロードが多かったり長かったりとかマップ広い割に描画範囲狭かったりも残念なところ。
クリア後の感想は｢テストプレイちゃんとした？｣あるいは｢テストプレイし過ぎて一巡目の違和感感じなくなっているよね？｣と言ったところ。

game was great till the 3rd bossfight, the knight was hands off with directions. particularly with the shield. then with rhea island i failed to lock onto the spiral platforms. so i had to manually turn, actually pushing my left stick full forward was a no go if i wanted to go upwards instead of restarting. my only non existant gripe is the fact the game doesnt recognize a ps4 controller. i have it working perfectly fine through steam, but it only recognizes it as "unknown". which i think is weird. before the 4th island 9/10. i just got to the 4th island and its such a shard decline in quality its crazy. it MUST be some sort of glitch i am specifically having. but oh my god is it bad.

the final bossfight was genuine ♥♥♥♥ from an ass. you get to fight the red power rangers gundam, who pulls a gun on you and shoots. but the next scene youre fistfighting him like he didnt just shoot a mega laser beam at you from 3 miles away. you get to phase 2 or smth and he has wings now. you beat him, but all it does is release galactus from fantastic 4 (2007) rise of the silver surfer. so the Eggmans digi-daughter bluetooth connects to the gundam abnd chasses after galactus from fantastic 4 (2007) rise of the silver surfer. sonic says "race you there" or some ♥♥♥♥ but the next scene doesnt include him till the gundam actually gets to space. where it turns out that the giant evil fog thing turns into AN EVIL MOON. SO THE GUNDAM DOES THE FASTBALL SPECIAL WITH SONIC, GETTING A 3 STEP QTE. AND THATS IT. i know people arnt playing this for the story but holy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ that right there ruined the replayability of this game. up untill that point i was 100% intending to replay the game and 100% everything so i didnt have to do the monotony of going back to completed zones and collect things,but never mind that.

ソニックの中で一番面白い作品とは思う。
でも微妙に面白くない点も感じる。

ちょっとした操作ミスで谷から落ちたりすると、
10分間は元の位置まで帰れなくなったりする。
落ちやすいゲーム性と落ちた時のデメリットが噛み合ってない。不快。
このゲーム内容なら「リウィンド機能」や「ワープ機能」は必須だったと思う。

ボス戦や戦闘も正直理不尽・不快寄り。

落下でキレそう、操作困難、操作の緊張感大、
失敗時のペナルティ極大、不便な仕様、不快な戦闘、････。

もっと不快感無くプレイ出来る環境や機能を豊富に用意して、
マリオみたいな低難易度なプレイフィールに寄せた方が良い気がする。

Sonic Frontiers foi uma experiência incrível do começo ao fim. O jogo consegue trazer uma proposta diferente para a série, com um mundo aberto grande, cheio de desafios e segredos para explorar, mas sem perder a velocidade e a sensação clássica de jogar com o Sonic. A liberdade para correr pelas ilhas, resolver puzzles e enfrentar inimigos gigantes deixa tudo muito divertido e viciante.

Um dos pontos mais legais é a trilha sonora, que combina músicas calmas na exploração com temas épicos nas batalhas contra chefes. As lutas contra os titãs são simplesmente espetaculares e passam uma sensação de grandiosidade que poucos jogos conseguem. A história também é mais séria do que em outros jogos do Sonic, o que deixa tudo mais interessante e envolvente.

A jogabilidade é rápida e fluida, e mesmo depois de zerar, ainda dá vontade de continuar jogando para completar tudo, pegar todos os upgrades e explorar cada canto do mapa. Platinar o jogo é desafiador, mas muito satisfatório, porque mostra o quanto o conteúdo foi bem feito.

No geral, Sonic Frontiers é um ótimo jogo, inovador dentro da franquia e muito divertido para quem gosta de ação, exploração e velocidade. Valeu muito a pena zerar e platinar. 9/10

Kiepski otwarty świat, powtarzalna rozgrywka, proste i łatwe poziomy cyberprzestrzeni. Fabuła? Słaba, dialogi i cutscenki są kiepsko zrobione jak z generatora, wszyscy stoją i gadają. Grafika na poziomie Generations z 2011 roku i z tej gry tęż ściąga bardzo dużo assetów. Bardzo fajna muzyka, biega się po ttym głupim świecie nawet fajnie, walka jak z fanowskich animacji/gier flashowych.

Lepszy niż sporo Soników ale nawet nie dałbym go do top 10. Oby pomysły z tej gry już nie wróciły.

В начале не выкупил, а потом каааак выкупил и вся середины игры была пиком, шедевр 10/10, арка тейлза крутая, а потом финальный остров и финальный босс душнина ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Надеюсь что типу который додумался сделать последний остров просто бегатнёй за колектоблоссами без диалогов и сюжета, а также сделать ФИНАЛЬНОГО босса ебанной галугой просто будут каждое утро харкать в его открытый рот. Если закрыть глаза на геймплейно ужасный финал и на душненькое начало то игра крутая, один из лучших соников хотя по началу и ненавидел эту игру

A very enjoyable game and this comes from a guy who isn't too big on open world games. I liked the story, gameplay and character interactions. My biggest complaint are the Cyberspace levels, but other than that pretty solid game.

I was honestly 50/50 on whether to recommend this game or not. Overall, it’s quite fun. The gameplay feels very Sonic-like, with fast movement and some really weird bosses — but weird in a good way.

However, the game’s interface really frustrated me. Some design choices just don’t make much sense. For example, who decided that the P key should pause the game or take you to the main menu? And the fast travel system being hidden behind a separate filter on the map is just unnecessarily confusing.

The game itself is enjoyable, but the UI could definitely have been designed much better.
