NEOGEO以前のゲーム詰め合わせがセールで安かったので購入。
懐かしいのとプレイした記憶がないのが混じっているけど詰め合わせだからこんなもの。
セーブと巻き戻し機能があるので根気があればクリアできるはず。
ちょこっと遊んでみた結果はこんな感じ
・アテナ　こんなに難しかったっけ？ゲーセンではワンコインクリアしてたのに
・サイコソルジャー　こんなんだったけ？1Pだけだとあんまり面白くない
・サスケVSコマンダー　懐かしくて面白かった、シンプルなゲームはいいね
・ファンタジー　なんか楽しかった、いろいろ理不尽だけど
・ヴァンガード　なんか楽しかった、シンプルで好き
・オズマウォーズ　駄菓子屋で遊んだ記憶がある
駄菓子屋とかデパート屋上でゲームしていた40～50代にオススメ！

Foi bem legal conhecer (jogando) de onde alguns personagens que viraram ícones no The King of Fighters saíram, como por exemplo a Athena Asamiya.

O que me surpreendeu foi a coletânea trazer tanto os jogos da versão arcade quanto dos consoles. A diferença visual é brutal, mas em alguns casos a versão de console perde de um lado e ganha de outro. Vale jogar para experienciar as diferenças.

Destaque para o "museu", que funciona como um modo galeria, onde você tem uma timeline da história dos jogos da SNK desde o final dos anos 70 até o início dos anos 90. Há scans de caixas dos jogos, pôsteres, curiosidades e por aí vai.

Os jogos são variados, indo de navinha até carrinho, esporte e shooter com mira na tela (com zumbis dando tiro) e, claro, side scroller. [b]Nunca tinha jogado nenhum dos games da coletânea e foi uma boa experiência. Vale em promoção.[/b]

Almost all of these games are classics I love, so buying this was a no-brainer for me. It's also presented in a way that allows me to play for a few minutes at a time between work projects when I need to reset my brain. With all this content, it's a real value. It also has cool bonus content for those who are old as ♥♥♥♥ like me and have loved these titles for years and years.

こんなの買うやつは昔ゲームセンターでプレイした層なんだし、エミュ移植でも文句は言わないんだろうけどさ。
いやこれ相当酷いなあ。
まず設定が酷いというか「ない」。
音量設定もなければ画面設定もない。
フルスクリーンかウィンドウかだけ。

ただでさえちんまい画面が、プレイ開始するとさらに小さくなるとは予想もつかなかった。
16：9環境で4：3になると左右に余白が……なんてレベルよりさらに小さくなるから困る。
音量設定もないのでOSから弄るしかない。
うちでは「うるせー！」だったが環境次第では「小さい」にもなるらしい。
キーコンフィグもなし。

これエミュそのままはまだしも、設定だけでもどうにかしないと話にならないんじゃないだろうか。
サイコソルジャーやってみたけど、アテナが謎言語で歌い始めた時は頭が真っ白になった。
一々日本語版にしない限り英語版がスタート。
サムライスピリッツでもそうだったなあ……いや設定保存だけで解決する話だぞ？
もともと日本向けじゃないにしても酷いわ。
CSだと日本語版発売さえしていなかった時点でお察しするべきだったわけか。
PS海外版ディスク買うより圧倒的に安いじゃんで飛びついた自分が馬鹿だった。
日本語版はあくまで「いらないだろうけどオリジナル言語版もオマケしときますね」って扱いなんだろうな。

A seguir faço minhas observações e caso você esteja na dúvida, como eu estava, é uma coleção boa pra quem curte o gênero, vá sem medo! 🤙🏻[/i]

[b]1 - Visão geral/gráficos[/b]
Eu tava sem muita empolgação pelas próprias imagens aqui na página. Sim, muito jogos não possuem gráficos melhor elaborados, mas alguns fogem à regra. Mesmo assim, eles rendem boa jogatina. Pra se ter ideia no estilo de fato museu, há algumas gemas do tempo do ronca no formato Atari. Porém se você quer jogar, confira tudo e devore esse menu!

[b]2 - Funções/recursos[/b]
Tem rewind e save (slot único) pra jogar mais do que tranquilo. Há também uma função extra chamada Watch, um recurso bom em que você pode assistir o gameplay e pode jogar exatamente de onde estiver vendo.

[b]3 - Conquistas/Perfect[/b]
Dá pra conseguir o Perfeito sem esforço algum! Mas é recomendado você dar uma jogada em todos. O segredo é você usar o recurso Watch e ir pro final. Lembrando que não são todos os jogos que precisam ser finalizados. Apesar da facilidade parece haver um procedimento que achei em algumas discussões: Você faz o save perto do final (não testei se é preciso ou não dar o último golpe ou já ir após o chefe ser derrotado); só carregar o save não pulou a conquista pra mim, tive que sair de SNK 40 e quando voltava é que saía a notificação da alegria!

[b]4 - Dificuldade[/b]
Os jogos aqui não são tão fáceis, portanto podem exigir um pouco de tempo alguns. Eu já fiquei triste logo nos 2 primeiros, chamados de "Alpha Mission" e "Athena". Estes 2 não consegui zerar e nem passei do primeiro chefão, aparentemente tem que fazer upgrades, portanto não pode perder algumas partes específicas no mapa. "Athena" é bem engraçado que tem estilo anime e a protagonista começa só de biquíni e você precisa achar as roupas/armadura dela, pude ver isso no Watch. Depois desses 2 terrores foi só alegria, acho que zerei tudo, com exceção do jogo de RPG, né?💀

[b]5 - Falhas[/b]
Pelo que lembre 2 jogos estão com falha, um deles é jogaço "Beast Busters", "Beast Busters" é originalmente de fliperama com "armas" pra se atirar na tela e aqui a mira simplesmente não se mexe! Há discussões pra supostamente resolver isso, mas não sei se é verdade. Em "Beast Busters" dá pra zerar só amassando o botão, porém algumas partes você precisa ter um pouco de noção do que fazer e o chefão final tive que ativar os outros player pra poder acertá-lo. Outro com falha é a gema de nome "Time Soldiers", dá pra jogar mas o seu boneco vai ficar virado em uma só direção.

[b]6 - Achados[/b]
Como bom collection, há uns achados. Embora alguns estejam com esses gráficos mais rústicos, há jogos de encher os olhos!

[b]7 - Interface[/b]
A interface achei mais ou menos. Os jogos das conquistas vem com um papel de parede e os que não contam conquistas são reproduções da [url=https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3604172326]capa do NES[/url]. Não dá pra mudar o papel de parede, é único, porém deve ter opções de deixar sem ou aumentar a tela.

[b]8 - Extras[/b]
Além deste collection ser museu, ele vem com extra de museu (ba-dum-tss)🥁. Uma visualização com a história da SNK, seus jogos do tempo do ronca e que eram fliperamas até um pouco de console. Também tem trilha sonora com os jogos das conquistas, com exceção do Iron Tank.

Esta coleção é formada de 25 em 1!

Concluindo, é um bom collection pra quem curte o estilo. Tem seus defeitos - não falei, mas deu eventual crash, coisa eventual que não atrapalha - porém é um senhor achado! De repente sirva até pra novas gerações. SNK 40 é coleção pra dar um expurgo na mente! [i][b]Recomendo!👍🏻[/b][/i]

他プラットフォームで無料で貰えたけれど、Steamで手軽にやりたくて購入しました。
つまりサイコソルジャーが手軽に聴けます。

SNKの歴史としてはNEOGEOより更に昔の骨董ゲームなので、昨今のリッチなゲームとはゲーム性が比べ物になりません。
でも、ゲームセンターが暗くて怪しくて如何わしくて小学校で禁止されるような場所だった時代。
友人と一緒に悪い大人の世界にこっそりと踏み込んだような気がしてドキドキしていた子供の頃。
そんな当時に置いてあってキラキラして見えたタイトルたちです。

ぶっちゃけそんな思い出補正があっても今プレイするのはちょっとな・・・としか思えませんけども。
それでも年に数回、レトロゲームをやりたいな思うことがありまして。
その瞬間に手軽に起動できることこそがSteam版の大きなメリットですね。

The SNK 40th Anniversary Collection is an absolute treat for retro gaming fans and history buffs alike. It’s packed with beautifully preserved classics, offering both arcade and console versions, along with bonus features like rewind, save states, and museum content that dives deep into SNK’s early years. The presentation is clean, the emulation is smooth, and the attention to detail really shows how much love went into this collection.

The included titles are a wonderful reminder of how innovative SNK was long before the Neo Geo era. Games like Ikari Warriors, Crystalis, and Guerrilla War play great and feel just as fun today. It’s a great way to experience SNK’s origins before their fighting game dominance took off.

However, it’s disappointing that Baseball Stars for the NES — one of SNK’s most beloved and influential sports titles — wasn’t included in the Steam version, even though it appeared in other releases. Its absence definitely leaves a noticeable gap in what’s otherwise an excellent lineup.

It also would’ve been great to see some ADK games added to the mix, though it’s understandable since ADK wasn’t officially part of SNK back in those early days. Still, a few nods to that legacy would’ve made the collection feel even more complete.

Even with those omissions, SNK 40th Anniversary Collection remains an outstanding celebration of gaming history. It’s informative, nostalgic, and a joy to play — a must-own for fans of classic arcade action.

This is a fun little collection of 24 early (pre-Neo Geo) SNK games made up of a variety of arcade quarter munchers and Crystalis, which is in my opinion the best 8-bit RPG ever made. Being able to play this gem again without having to worry about an old cartridge glitching up or the backup battery dying is the main reason why I bought this collection, but there are a few other games that are worthwhile, including the arcade versions of the Ikari Warriors games (the crappy NES versions are here as well, if you want to play them for a laugh). POW (the NES version) is an under-rated beat em up, and Beast Busters is fun to mess around with. There are some cool hidden gems which never left arcades, like Psycho Soldier, Search and Rescue, and Paddle Mania. Some of these games had unique controller setups in the arcade, which are not replicated 100% perfectly, but everything is still playable even on my old bootleg Xbox 360 controller.

About half or more of the games are shoot em ups, so if you are a fan of that genre you are in luck. I would've appreciated the inclusion of a few of SNK's early sports titles, but this collection contains most of the important early SNK stuff. Again, this collection does not include any of the Neo Geo titles, but a lot of those are available elsewhere on steam. Some missing versions of games, like the Genesis version of Street Smart or the Atari Version of Vanguard aren't really missed.

Otherwise, you have some QOL stuff here, like rewind functionality, a turbo button for most games, infinite continues, etc. There's also a bunch of neat extras like old artwork, soundtracks, and info on a bunch of other games, including unreleased stuff.

Your mileage with this collection may vary, but what's here plays well, it is frequently available at like 85% discount, and it does not come packaged with Denuvo or any of that BS. I'm just glad these games (Crystalis mostly) are available on steam, so for me it's worth it for convenience alone.

The SNK 40th anniversary collection is a nice little package of SNK titles spanning a good part of their history. This collections features 24 games in total and features an art gallery and soundtrack playlist for some games. There is also options to play the arcade or console version of some games which is really nice. Overall the quality games here is good featuring some classic games and series like Ikari Warriors, Athena and Crystalis.

The games play really well overall and the only real issue I encountered was a weird stick drift that happened once or twice but restarting seemed to fix it. There is a nice mix of action platformers, shmups and arcade games here. Some of the games certainly still hold up today while some not so much but it's always great having these games preserved and if you haven't played some of them it's always great to try another classic.

Being a big shmup fan myself I was really happy to see Prehistoric Isle, World Wars, Bermuda Triangle and Chopper 1 present here. Crystalis is also another highlight in this collection and is an incredible JRPG that is definitely worth playing. Athena is also another title that was very popular when released due to the games branching paths and weapon/armor upgrading and I do enjoy this game so it was nice to play through it again.

There were also a few games in here that I have never had the chance to play such as Sasuke vs Commander, Ozma wars, Fantasy and Beast Busters. Beast Busters was the only game in this collection that didn't really work too well being a rail shooter, it doesn't play so well in this environment but it is still nice for it to be here for people to try.

The package itself features alot of modern features most of these retro packages have like the ability to rewind, save at any time and a watch feature.

The extras such as the Museum are great. There is lots of interesting information, screenshots, advertisements and back story to a lot of the games. I always enjoy being able to see some of the original artworks and advertising posters (they were so cool back then) for the games. They do also go in depth with some of the games and the releases for each game and to be honest I wish there was more I really enjoy the history and stories behind titles.

The music player is also nice although I doubt I would use it in game but the games are there and you can listen to the music and the always catchy Psycho Soldier song.

For those like myself who are achievement hunters this game has a very easy set of achievements. The achievements are all the same there are 14 in total and they all require you to finish certain games. There are no other achievements than that. Luckily most if not all allow for infinite continues so there isn't really a game you can't beat which I like it allows you to enjoy the game without worrying but it does lessen the challenge. For me it took about 5 hours to complete them all as most games are short and I've beaten Crystalis (longest game) many times so I can usually get through it at a good pace.

Overall I really enjoyed this package and being a big retro fan I had a good time with this collection and hope we see more like this in the future.

Im not sure why this game still gets positive reviews with the bug im about to describe.

Basically, several games in this package such as Ikari have been converted from their original arcade controls, to modern twin stick. This is great in theory, but there is a bug where the stick inputs get 'stuck' in some direction, making you lose control of the gameplay until you wiggle the sticks all the way around and then rewind the game because you obviously just died because of that. This happens all the time, like every few minutes. This trashes the enjoyment of the games, unfortunately.

So i had to refund, its a shame because other than this showstopper bug, the product seems pretty neat as a showcase of SNKs work prior to the neogeo. I would rebuy if this bug were fixed. Though i will mention it only features about 25 of the 75 ish pre-neogeo titles, i assume they must be the best 25?

収録されている作品数は多くプレイ感覚もループレバーのゲーム以外はそのままの移植でコイン毟り取り特化の鬼畜難度ばかりなのでコンティニューしまくりで定価で買っても一瞬で元は取れるお得なコレクション
この手の詰め合わせ移植定番のゲームの途中セーブや巻き戻し機能も装備しているので、当時(主に予算的に)諦めたり敬遠していたゲームも楽々とはいかないがクリアまで持っていけるのは素直にありがたい
アーケード版だけじゃなく一部のゲームは家庭用移植版も一緒に収録されているのはいいと思うがゴッドスレイヤーの浮きっぷりはなんなんだろうｗ

総じてお勧めではあるがシステム周りの作りが雑というか手抜きで、どのゲームもデフォルトが海外版で毎回日本版に変えてから始めないとだめで実績もすべて海外版でクリアしないと解除されないので脱獄を3万円分ぐらいコンティニューしてクリアしたときは何も起こらず？？？となって調べてみて愕然とした
更に全てのゲームに実績が設定されているわけではなく一部だけで、先回りして航空騎兵物語をわざわざ海外版にして泣きながら2週クリアした時に何も起きなかった悲しみは無想転生を会得しそうだったので、実績狙いの人はまずオプションでどれが実績対象かをよく確かめましょう

Some classics well emulated. Tough as nails old arcade style. Ability to rewind or just let the game play itself and then you can jump in and take over make it a lot easier. Especially if you just want to jump to certain levels or end game.

However ultimately I expect you'll only get something out of this pack if you were around to play these games on the original arcades back in the day and have that nostalgia boner of revisiting them.

They all play fine so I'll give the thumbs up that this emulation setup works really well to be able to replay any part of any game without needing to grind through early levels etc

移動操作をデフォルトでカーソルキーに設定されていて、直すのがめんどくさかったです。

- Как и большинство сборников классических игр вроде тех, что выпускала [b]Sega,[/b] или той же [b]Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection[/b] (на который я делал [url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/Megadue/recommended/1018000/]обзор[/url]) от ребят из Konami, [b]SNK 40th Anniversary Collection[/b] не создана для привлечения массовой аудитории или какой-то аркадной экспансии на рынок видеоигр. Это всё-таки скорее развлечение для старичков, мужичков и прочих чков, кому не плевать на ретро-игры и ретро-аркады в частности. Таких людей немного, но и немало, раз это дело продолжают выпускать, ну а я, собственно, и не против, ведь мне есть что обозреть, чем я, собственно, сейчас и займусь. Ну и по классике обзор будет поделён на 2 части, в первой расскажу про сами игры, а во второй непосредственно про их порт, поэтому не стесняйся мотать вниз, если про игры ты и сам всё знаешь, такие дела.

📌 [u]Данный обзор — мнение абсолютного ньюфага. И если я чего не знаю и не понимаю, а я по-любому чего-то не знаю и не понимаю, то ругать меня за это не стоит, а вот указать на ошибку стоит, благо комментарии для этого открыты.[/u] 📌

[h2]Об игре:[/h2]
- [b]Alpha Mission представляет из себя шутемап, причём весьма фиговый.[/b] Убиваете врагов, долетаете до босса, судорожно ищете его слабое место, умираете и всё по новой, пока таки не расковыряете босса и он не пустит вас дальше. А дальше только хуже, ведь вас ждут лаги от количества врагов на экране, в общем, не советую.
- [b]Athena представляет из себя платформер по типу Shinobi, но гораздо хуже.[/b]Тут вам и максимально неотзывчивое управление, и ужасная музыка, и предсказуемые, но нечестные враги, а про платформинг я вообще молчу.Благо игра короткая, но советовать игру я не стану.
- [b]Beast Rusiers — это первая игра в сборнике, которую я не осилил, и не потому, что она какая-то сложная или плохая.[/b] А просто потому, что она не работает нормально, за 15 минут попыток хоть как-то её приручить я просто сдался. Так что, извините, кроме того, что она сломана, ничего сказать не могу.
- [b]Bermuda Triangle представляет из себя шутемап, причём весьма фиговый...[/b] Опять какой-то корабль, бонусы, враги и одноклеточные боссы. Собрав в охапку пачку бонусов, убить вас будет нереально, так что, если хотите лёгкой прогулки минут на 20, дерзайте, а я пас.
- [b]Chopper 1 пока что самая клёвая и интересная игра из сборника.[/b] Тут вам и более-менее справедливый (для аркад) челендж, и клёвая графика с кат-сценами, и креативно сделанные враги и боссы. Я прям доволен, ради этой игры я бы сборник ещё раз запустил.
- [b]Crystalis — это, по сути, прокаченная версия первой Legend of Zelda, но есть нюанс.[/b] Тут вам и необычный сеттинг, и весьма интересный сюжет, ну и хоть и не очень удобный, но всё же клёвый геймплей. В целом от игры я остался доволен, хоть и совсем не любитель Legend of Zelda,советую.
- [b]Fantasy — это короткое, невыразительное и кривое нечто. Однозначно не стоит вашего времени.[/b]
- [b]Guerilla War — весьма неплохо сделанная милитари-пострелушка с видом сверху.[/b] Управление в ней, конечно, убогенькое и неудобное, баланс оставляет желать лучшего, а враги не блещут ни разнообразием, ни интересностью, но интересные решения в игре есть, да и выглядит оно красиво. В общем, я заценил.
- [b]Ikari Warrior — что по геймплею, что по духу очень похожа на предыдущую игру.[/b] Что-то там сделано лучше, что-то хуже, но в общем и целом те же яйца, только в профиль. Так что попробовать можно,но оставив надежду.
- [b]Ikari Warrior 2, к сожалению, взяла всё самое плохое, что было в первой части, и возвела это в абсолют.[/b] Уровни стали длиннее, врагов стало больше, а геймплей будто окунули в нечто вязкое и дурнопахнущее, отчего прикасаться к нему повторно нет никакого желания.
- [b]Ikari 3 из шутана превратился в битэмап а-ля «Golden Axe», но от второй и первой части игре перешло ужасное управление.[/b] Ну и копировать ребята вообще не умеют, ибо с точки зрения игрового процесса игра сосёт невероятно чего не делал оригинал,так что вердикт очевиден.
- [b]Iron Tank — очередная военная игрушка с примитивной графикой, где ты катаешься на танчике и делаешь пиу пиу.[/b] Опять были проблемы с управлением, но они компенсируются разнообразием в геймплее и сложностью. По мне так, игра вполне себе, советую попробовать.
- [b]Munch Mobile выглядит и играется максимально странно.[/b] Есть машина и куча мусора на обочине, используя огромную руку нужно это дело собрать и доехать до конца уровня. Ну и всё это с вхождением в повороты и обходом препятствий. На любителя, короче.
- [b]Ozma Wars просто клон Space Invaders но с фекальной механикой вместо жизней.[/b]Не советую,короч.
- [b]Paddle Mania на первый взгляд представляет из себя прикольный аркадный теннис, на деле сборная солянка из кучи видов спорта, которые проходят на теннисном корте.[/b] Идея прикольная, реализация достойная, советую.
- [b]P.O.W., ровно как и Ikari 3, это битемап с военной тематикой, но такой убогий и кривой, что просто жуть.[/b] Проходить эту игру было реально пыткой, даже заходить в игру не советую.
- [b]Prehistoric Isle — это прикольный шутер про динозавров.[/b] Летаете на самолёте и отстреливаете динозавриков, лутаете бонусы, вот в принципе и всё. Игра достаточно короткая и надоесть не успевает, советую.
- [b]Psycho Soldier — это такой своеобразный ребрендинг Athena , типа теперь это не богиня, а обычная японская школьница с суперспособностями, и даже несмотря на изменения, игра(которые отчасти сыграли игре на руку) всё ещё мусор, так что проходить игру крайне не советую.[/b]
- [b]SAR представляет из себя шутер с видом сверху в сеттинге фильма «Чужой».[/b] Причём враги здесь настолько слабые, что их проще обойти, чем тратить на них своё время, что можно сказать и про игру, проходняк.
- [b]Sasuke Vs Commander — это снова клон Space Invaders, только здесь дождь из мужиков...[/b] Поиграете — поймёте. Можете зайти кека ради, конечно, но не более.
- [b]Street Smart — весьма интересный эксперимент по смешению жанров битэм ап и файтинга.[/b] Тут вам и свобода передвижения по экрану, и соответствующее управление, а с другой стороны — простые комбинации и бои 1 на 1 с ботами, которые используют свой
- [b]Time Soldiers представляет из себя шутер с перемещением по разным эпохам.[/b] Есть 2 типа оружия, вы их умело (или не очень) комбинируете, и как бы всё. Картинка в целом приемлемая, сложность терпимая, а игра не особо длинная, так что поиграть вполне можно.
- [b]T.N.K. 3, как я понял, это приквел к Iron Tank (исходя из даты выхода обоих игр), пройдёмся по изменениям: во-первых, врагов стало в разы больше, во-вторых, уровни стали более узкими в плане территории, а игра из-за этого в разы сложнее, особенно ближе ко второй половине.[/b] Так что, как и Iron Tank, советую.
- [b]Vanguard - скучный и старый как говно мамонта шутемап по геймплею очень напоминает Scramble но не такой сложный с большими скоростями ну и с передвижением и стрельбой не только в бок.[/b]Удовольствие весьма сомнительное.
- [b]World Wars — это прям 1 к 1 Bermuda Triangle за некоторыми незначительными изменениями в виде сеттинга кораблика и количества врагов на карте.[/b] Так что вердикт аналогичен Bermud-е.

- Ну а что тут говорить порт классный:
🔷 - Игры за редким исключением летают.
🔷 - Управление можно настроить под себя в любой игре.
🔷 - Для каждой игры подготовлен свой раздел со справочной информацией концепт артами и статьями об.
🔷 - Присуствуют сохранения и прости господи функция Rewind.
- Разве что часть игры откровенный мусор,ну тут ничего не поделать.

[u][b]SNK 40th ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION[/b] — одно из лучших классических переизданий за последние годы. Да, некоторые игры убоги до жути, да, часть лагает. Crystalis is the most formative video game of my childhood. It introduced me to the world of JRPGs, and I could not stop playing them after that. This game contains irreplaceable memories that made me who I am today.

Crystalis, in my opinion, stands the test of time. It's an action RPG set in a science fantasy world that has magic swords and monsters right alongside technological wonders and killer robots. Each character has a unique personality and character arc. Its gameplay, consisting of using swords, magic and tools, changes with each new area where you earn new ways to fight and solve problems. The soundtrack is beautiful. Sam Dillard made a Crystalis Symphony on YouTube that does justice to the musical score.

Now for the criticism: You [i]will[/i] need a guide, especially for bosses - they won't take damage until you achieve a certain level!

Despite its difficulty, this game changed my life forever. It's wonderful.

It brings back some great memories with my favourites including P.O.W, Street Smart, and Ikari Warriors.
The collection is well-crafted, with modern features and it's a great way to experience a piece of arcade history.

I already own this on Switch but got it here because the overall experience more stable, and this was the first time I realized that Digital Eclipse was a force to be reckoned with in the compilation arena. While others churn out basic (if competently emulated) games for the Western market, Digital Eclipse made this experience into not only a who's who of pre-Neo Geo SNK games, but also included a nice history of the company, along with information on games released during this period. It's a great reminder for those that either forgot or don't remember that SNK had a life before Neo Geo cabinets. Features typically include both Arcade and Console games (where applicable) as well as a handy "watch" mode (which also allows one to take over at any time) and some DIP switch options and Region switching.

[h1]★ゲーム内容[/h1]
ネオジオ以前のSNKゲーを24タイトル+ファミコン移植版を収録したコレクションソフト。
ファミコン移植版は、怒シリーズ3作、アテナ、脱獄、ゲバラ、ASO、グレートタンク。
ゴッドスレイヤーは、ファミコンオリジナルのアクションRPG。
ちなみにKOFでお馴染みの麻宮アテナ&ケンスウ、ラルフ&クラークのデビュー作も収録されている。

国内版と海外版の選択、ディップスイッチ、中断セーブ、画面フィルター等、設定や機能は一通り揃っている。
ループレバー対応タイトルは、ゲームパッドで遊べるので安心してほしい。
PS4のゲームパッドでプレイしたが、遅延は特に感じなかった。
実績だが、海外版でクリアしないと解除されないので注意！

ミュージアムモードは未収録タイトル含め、チラシ・インスト・ガイドブック等の資料、BGMが鑑賞出来て資料的価値が高いが、
清水香織さん等の実在の人物にモザイクが、かかってるのが残念だった！

ネオジオ以前のSNKゲーは高難易度+ゲームバランスが悪い。※ネオジオ初期も酷かったが･･･
なので、ライトユーザーが気軽に遊んで楽しめるゲームは殆どないと思う。
ファミコン版移植タイトルは、アーケード版より難易度が低いので比較的遊びやすいと思うが。

2タイトルを簡易紹介
■アテナ 1986年
成長要素のあるアクションゲームで、SNKのゲームとは思えないほどゲームバランスが良い。
破壊可能なブロックに隠されてる武器や防具を回収していくとアテナがドンドン強くなるぞ！
しっかり装備を整えていけば難易度は普通、収録されたゲームの中で一番遊びやすい良作。
モンスターランドなどの成長要素のあるアクションが好きな人はハマると思う。
余談だが、アテナは麻宮アテナのご先祖様。
SNK VS.CAPCOM SVC CHAOSでは隠しボス、ネオジオバトルコロシアムではプレイアブルキャラで出演している。

■ストリートスマート 1989年
SNK最初の格闘ゲームだが、ゲームバランスが非常に悪い･･･。
ひたすらソバットを当てていくタイミングゲーとなっている。
女の子が可愛くなっているメガドライブ版が未収録なのが残念。
ちなみに1面と最終面のBGMは、餓狼伝説でも使用されている。

あとサイコソルジャーのボーカルは、清水香織さんが歌うバージョンと、
海外の人が歌うバージョンがあるので、聴き比べるのも面白いよ。
最後にSNKのネオジオゲーを収録したSNK NEOGEO Anniversary Collectionも配信してほしい！

Most of these games haven't aged fairly well. But many still are impressive and remain timeless classics.

High recomendations: Prehistoric Isle, Guerilla Wars, Beast Buster (with actual gun/mouse controls), Psycho Soldier, and absolutely Crystalis.

Fantasy from 1981 was mindblowning to hear (understandable voice samples? Hot damn), especially for the times it was released.

昔遊んだ脱獄をやりたくて買ったが、音量が小さいのと、日本語版で遊ぶのに毎回ボタンを押して変更しないといけない。
遊んで終了した直後でもまたデフォルトの海外版に戻ってしまっている。

I'm very familiar and grew up with Neo Geo but seeing the SNK games before the famous arcade machine was created is very fascinating.

on a sale this is a gem!

Crystalis I feel never has any appreciation for what it was and when it was released near the end of the NES life span. Action RPG with a bit of story. Upgrades to your various weapons. Simple yet back in 1991 this was amazing!

This game actually got me into the whole action RPG and in so into RPGs and MMORPGs in general. Awesome little game! Get it when its under five bucks and you can't regret getting this gem along with arcade hits of the 80s!

Each title may have 2 games (1 arcade port and 1 NES port). TNK and Crysalis are console games only, while some others are arcade games only. So the game count is way over 25.

Games range from early arcade from the 70s all the way to 1990s RPG Crystalis. Lots of Ikari Warriors variables, which is what the SNK brand was going for at the time before NeoGeo. It also has platforms, vertical shooters, horizontal shooters, and brawlers.

Ikari Warriors trilogy is available and they are glorious! Each Ikari warrior game feels different from each other and have their own charm. 6 Ikari warriors games to play (3 for arcade and 3 for the NES).

The Arcade-only Paradise is an interesting game that showcases countless minigames. Amazing for its time!

You can customize all controls. NES games can be played with authentic or third party NES controller (I played with a third-party NES controller). Arcade games can be played with arcade stick control, or a modern gamepad (Power A's XBOX controller is what I used).

It works on the Steam Deck.

I would give this a thumbs up, but the controls are bugged. After a few minutes of playing the controls get stuck so the game is constantly registering that a direction is being held when it isn't. I am experiencing this on 2 separate computers and my Steam Deck, so this clearly isn't an isolated environment issue. It is a bug in the game's code. This controls bug is in the game itself, not the emulator(s), so when it occurs you need to close out of the entire collection and re-launch the collection.

Luckily you can make save states at any time during emulation, so if you start to experience the bug you can immediately save state and then close the collection and re-launch it, but this is just too big of a bug and deserves a thumbs down until it is fixed.

Only bought and played for the Crystalis RPG.

It's a cool game. It does feel dated, but if you compare to the games at the time, Zelda, FF, DW NES titles, this is such a hidden gem. If you expect some commentary on religion and war, because the cutscene at the beginning touches on this, unfortunately there won't be anything deep.

Good emulation. The emulator offers rewind on the spot, which is basically cheating. I didn't use it until the final boss, for pacing reasons. The game ramps up the difficulty and punishment. Limit yourself how you want. This definitely adds to accessibility for an old game.

There is the original Japanese version available, with uncensored religious sprites. But unfortunately it is in Japanese only. There's no option to play with English text and uncensored sprites.

The selection of games is fair enough. All those early SNK arcade titles are here. However, some games are about the same theme/gameplay so that may be a weakness from the pack. Some games are really difficult, and require a lot of patience. The rewind and watch options are a nice touch that allows you to rethink your strategy when hundreds of shots and bombs are coming your way. If you were there when these games where the tits in your local arcade center, this compilation is excellent. I wish they made a volume 2 with more classic titles.

I'm a huge fan of packs featuring retro games, but this one didn't click with me. Out of the 24 games included in the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection, only a few were relatively fun to play. The rest, unfortunately, didn't seem enjoyable even after giving them a fair try. One possible reason could be that I don't have many fond memories of these games. Still, I love trying out various games, no matter how old they are. Maybe these are just average and best played with a nostalgia high?2

The collection isn't exactly cheap, so I suggest waiting for a sale.

A fantastic adaption and presentation of retro games.

Each game has a 'watch' mode which allows you to watch a playthrough of the game. You can also jump into the game at any point during the playthrough.

Each game has the console and different region versions when available.

There is a lot of bonus content in the 'museum' for retro lovers who want to know more about these games.

I bought this specifically because they had the arcade version of P.O.W. The rest of the games are decent, many of which I remember seeing and playing in the old arcades of yesteryear.

Also, I didn't notice it then, but some of the game designers at SNK seemed to have a weird affinity for Justin Trudeau's old man.

A nice collection of old school SNK titles, but damn these games are hard even with the rewind & save features. I think I wore down my rewind button with the amount of times I used it. 😁

I love the overall presentation though, with its smooth transitions, background video gameplay, and having the option to choose between the arcade and console version as well as switch regions.
I also like the museum section. It's cool looking at all the promotional material / bonus content and the ambient music was quite calming, reminded me of the Polymega.

One issue that would randomly happen was the controller movement would get stuck in one direction and I would have to do a couple of rotations on the dpad to free it up. Mostly happened when playing Crystalis, which is a game I finally got a chance to play. 👍

The highlights for me were Guerrilla War & P.O.W. Prisoners of War. I used to love playing the NES version of those back in the day.

This is way better than it has any right to be, including the not-annoying menus and historic content. It is certainly better than many other equivalent products from similar publishers.

For someone that knew SNK primarily from Ikari Warriors and the Neo Geo this was eye opening as well. Some of the games are outright awful, which you would expect, but the whole thing does have that spirit that everyone came to associate with SNK of just being a bit more everything than anyone else.

This is a great collection with wonderful presentation and game descriptions, good configuration features, and practically no latency in the controls. Digital Eclipse has been the best at producing collections for a long time, and SNK seems to have really supported this one. I'm also playing this on a GRS Ikari Warriors Super Joystick which has been really excellent with this collection.
