I really really enjoyed the first 3/4 of this game but the end seems to just sorta drop off
Disappointed. Sadly. You can feel the game was abandonned.
There is no clear explanation of what you have to do... I had to refer to a walkthrough multiple times and I still don't know how they managed to find those weird steps to advance the story.
Most items do not have any explanation about how they work.
You can't see information (stats) before crafting.
Mana is a pain. Crafting time is a pain.
No, i had fun with the game but this isn't a game i would recommend to my friends or other people play it, basically.
Serin Fate is a duck, an ambitious duck: tries to swin like Pokemon-like games in creatures raising and battling, to walk like the adventure and RPG features of games like Zelda series and to fly like Stardew Valley in the farm simulator and town relationships; all that with a touch of witchery (and necromancy). Being a duck isn't the problem here, actually, is a good idea, the issue here is that the duck here isn't a good duck after all, in my vision.
Basically, for every single cool or good idea or part of the game there is bad or miss handled counterside that i could say. This feels like the developer keeped adding and adding things to here without thinking how connect all that in a well way, he says that this isn't a polished, smooth game in the 'about game" section so i think this is the case. This game is another example of complicated, not complex design that feels so commom these days. Yes, make a complex design that interconnects very well a great number of elements is real hard, but here the complicated part just drop off hard, and that is the main trouble.
To me atleast, the game starts really well in the terms of hype because of the various interesting features, because of the mystery of how the things gonna be and the fast learning of a very few features. Then, after getting lost and lost and finally discovering the things by yourself or getting some guide in the internet (because explations here are pooly explained initially and gather information after its start is really hard to connect), that initial mystery which was full of expectatives is faded away and what last is a mall performed game with lack of coesive game design, full of unecessally grind and full cool ideas underperformed and poorly explored.
Serin Fate feels more like a proof of concept than a real produt, and this and all other things commented above are more or less explained by the developer notes in the store "about game" section. With that in mind, the game strong points should be his systems and features, but i don't even thint that they're too good or like that. The systems we got always feel incomplete, there could have more, much more in every areas. The combat is just gank and gank with exponentially increasing numbers; necromancy is just a couple of buff with a limited time duration and skeleton summons who trivializes the already badly performed battles; witcheries work just as an substitute to farm weapons, feartilizer effects and capture chimeras by random small chances most of the time; the casting system is really cool but is not developted besides his existence; the system of the chimeras is really poorly explained and becomes just a farm of blue coins (magatamas actually) and a free dps because players won't know what to do, how to do and why to do all things, the characters mostly fail in being charismactics, town's people are nothing and the 4 highlighted ones just feel... shallow, lacks substance (especially in moments who should be important like the turtle adventure or last battle), the perk tree idea is great to just get overwhelmed by the level grind and questionable game stuck moments like minerallogy II, a bad execution after all; and so much on...
The worst to me is: this could just be a awesome indie game, having some minors here or there, with the concepts already estabilished in the game. It was just needed more development time, six months or even one year, to polish the thighs, to adjust the pacing, to explain more the features that aready have or even reducing the scope. Minor adjustments in the UX (User Experience), minor add of some elements to connect things could make this a fine product, i think.
As the game is, it's a case of good ideas, bad execution. But i think it's an awesome template and experience for an amazing game in the future, there is much to explore off in a wizardry tematic farm simulator with a mix of adventure RPG, however, if you are searching for that, go lost yourself in Rune Factory which will offer you a more rounded game experience than a proof of concept like this (until Serin Another Fate be released, that will be absolute gaming).
It's a fun game.. and harder than it looks. As other have mentioned it could use a little qol, but I understand the code may be too deprecated to update. For me it's minor things such as keymapping and making it slightly easier to find certain drops earlier on. Dev, if you are reading this, I would consider rebuying if you were to ever make a remaster. I like the concept that much!
I'm sure this game is great, if I could actually get past the first two rooms of the damn forest to actually PLAY THE GAME! I'm bored to tears already bc I cant figure it out. I got the helmet, still dying VERY fast, and everything else to explore is locked or I dont have the money for. I'm stumped. But it being this hard does not make it fun!!!! I want to be in the action immediately, but to where I can actually play >:( !!!!
So underr rated, literally one of my favorites
After some back and forth with the developer, I'm gonna give this review another shot. I think I might have been a little harsh previously. It doesn't change my experience with the game, but if you're on the fence about it and you need your next Stardew fix, this will help you decide if the game is for you.
So first off, as far as I can tell, this entire game was built by one person and it was their first major project. On that laurel alone, this game is an impressive feat. The scope was ambitious and, in spite of it's shortcomings, it does manage to be a complete game.
Serin Fate has charm and polish. There are people who adore this game, but I think most of them didn't finish it. Deep knowledge of this game will get you far. In short, the game tried to be stardew, kings quest, pokemon, and Link to the Past, all at once. It did the Stardew thing okay, but at some point, the game devolves into a tedious resource grind.
Multiply this by dozens if you're going for some of the harder achievements. If you'll look, there are some hardmode ones that far less than .3% of players have managed to accomplish. I'm going to warn you right now, if you came into this hoping you could spend 30-60 hours to get a Stardew 100% (like I did), you can turn your ass right around and play something else in the Farming Humble Bundle you got. This game is BRUTAL on hardmode; muscling your way through it is not an option. You can expect long grinds and ignoble deaths to days-long playthroughs.
I walked away with a bruised ego realizing I couldn't will myself to overcome this. Coming from a guy who beat Darkest Dungeon on hardmode and Triple Crown Victory in Pillars of Eternity, I don't recommend even trying this in Serin Fate. You'll part with in on bad terms (like I did), and the game has enough going for it that it deserves engagement without the 100% mandate. Enjoy it for what it is until you can't, and let it go when that happens.
There's a pretty good walkthrough in steam guides if you ever get stuck, and get stuck you will. Many progress points make sense once solved, but the solutions are unintuitive. Don't try to figure it out on your own, if you get stuck for more than an hour, just read the guide so you can move on. I promise you: it won't be cheating; part of old adventure games was talking to your friends about what to do next.
A lot of the developers explanations as to his design philosophy, and why many of the problems are not fixable anymore, are indicative of a project long past its development cycle due to burnout, feature creep, and unwieldy scope. I can relate; after a years of grinding on a single project, there comes a point when one can no longer meaningfully grapple with it's problems without fresh eyes and dedicated teamwork, and that's even if you manage to build the game from a working concept that doesn't fall into design ruts that can't be altered without an overhaul of the core mechanics. The developer acknowledges these faults. That's respectable.
The game is respectable; perhaps it was I who didn't respect it, than it who didn't respect my time. It can be both.
A---MAZING little indie game! I wasn't expecting much, but this game won my heart. Cute little story with great gameplay loop. The game mainly focuses on magic, so I'd recommend staying in that vein for the most fun, but melee is available as well. If you like collecting monsters and finding the best one for your team, you'll love this game. The art style has a homey, fantasy feel, matching it to a "T". Definitely a recommend!
A difficult game with lots of mechanics, cute art style, and minimum hand-holding, that can take a bit of time to learn but is very pleasant to play once you know what you are doing.
The final boss named Spined Ling is incredible.
S-TLDR: I suggest you look elsewhere and not get your hopes up. This game is disappointing, buggy, and the dev is vindictive and condescending towards anyone who doesn't thumbs up the game no matter the reason. They abandoned it after launch to work on @SoulCrestRPG, that is also forgotten; it's .com is for sale. lol
TLDR: You want to buy this game because it looks like Pokemon mixed with Zelda and Stardew. You'll be disappointed, confused on what you're supposed to do even 40 hours in [unless you want to follow a guide word by word], and soon find out that this game isn't "hard". After all, your attacks auto-target with the staff even if you're facing away from the mob--one of only two weapon types--and more so you're expected to grind for hours between the unbalanced game system. After a few soft locks, crashes, bugs, you'll slowly find unfinished story lines. Then if you happen to dislike the game, you'll be insulted and stalked by the dev and a few of their fans. You'll be called names, have them try to get your Steam account closed, be called a liar, dense, victim, etc.

Look at the dev's responses and the comments from the discord mods and you'll see that this is a game made by toxic people you will not want to support :( ...this is why I took screenshots prior to my initial review, because of their history of this sort of treatment.
The bugs that I found and spoken up about on Disc? Not mentioned in the dev's reply.
There are some forum threads left of the dev and the small set of "discord mods" that have made it clear this type of treatment towards even the slightest negative opinion is normal.

The developer claims they can’t use older versions of Game Maker, even though they absolutely can.
Don’t bother with the Discord. You can be polite and still get insulted or blocked by the same “white knights” who don’t want anyone suggesting the artist that made this game could fix things. They’ll defend every flaw and attack anyone who tries to help.
The saddest part? [b]The developer themselves described the game as a “house of cards”. That if they so much tried to fix/finish it, it would all fall apart.[/b]
It’s a shame, because the game has concepts. I just wish it was finished. Apparently, that makes me “dense,” according to the Discord mods.
You will be soft-locked. You will face challenges that make no sense in terms of time or effort. You’ll be expected to rely on guides instead of discovering things naturally. And if you mention it, the Discord mods will mock you for not “beating the game so hard it crashed.”
If you love the game and wish it continued, you’ll be ridiculed. If you call out a soft-lock, they’ll make excuses; insisting some random loading screen hint you couldn’t possibly connect means it’s your fault.
Still, I love it. I’ll finish it as is. It’s just tragic that the developer sees their own creation as too unstable to touch; a fragile house of cards frozen in time.
It will always be broken, unbalanced, and unfinished; not because it has to be, but because the developer refuses to try.

You can pretend to be a victim now, but that sort of two-faced ingenuine/toxic behavior is not tolerated in the SF discord, and is frankly repulsive - you are banned (along with the secondary/spam account that is also yours). The discord has 1300 members and I've now banned 3 over the course of 7 years. --- That aside To any folks who might be reading: Completing the game is not soft-locked. A few collectable items (that are in no way necessary to progress, and that the fuss above was actually about..) can be unfortunately barred if a particular order of events happens - tho it is rare; this is not by design and is an oversight, you have my apologies! Furthermore, the game received content updates, QOL, and bug fixes for months before and after release to make it the best experience I could with the skills I had at the time. Some folks have said "it's incomplete!" but havent really detailed what that means? I assume they just wanted more or felt the pacing was wrong... Which is fine and fair. That said, it was not abandoned--It is a complete game with a sprawling adventure across the world, filled with quests, cutscenes, bosses, a final boss, and ending cutscene & credits. Is the game perfect? No. Is it a game that was made with a lot of love and that most people seem to enjoy despite its flaws? Yup!"

This game is a hidden gem - like many of its mechanics and quests. Are you an oldschool gamer who likes abit of jank that allows you to reach god mode yet a cozy gamer who also loves min/maxing cute pets? This game is for you.
What this game doesn't do is hold your hand. What this game does do is creature taming, raising, simple farming, active combat with tons of cool weapons (to craft and loot), huge perk tree, auras as a dynamic buff system, magic!
Don't try to play it without a guide, just join the discord.
I'm glad I got a CD key of this game because it's definitely not worth the money spent to get it through steam. There is absolutely no reason for a game to be able to delete your save data, no reason at all and the one possible work around would be to back it up to steam cloud and the game can't even use it. I'm glad I was only about 2hrs in cause I would be pissed if I was farther along and lost everything.

I was really conflicted thinking of whether to recommend this game or not, but I think in terms of what I consider to be a 'good' game vs 'bad' game and decided that this is ultimately not worth getting into.
First big gripe with this game: The developer tells you outright that there is no real tutorials or hand holding and you basically just need to figure out things on your own. I'm perfectly fine with that, in fact, I normally prefer it. However, if this is your approach, your game NEEDS to be intuitive. I'll give a few examples of how counter intuitive this game is:
There are key items in the game that blend in too easily with the background and you can miss it completely. In most games, when you get past a dungeon or find a secret path, there's usually a big open space and in the center is the key item to grab. In this game, it literally blends in with the environment so well that I can't tell if it's decor or a key item. I had to read through guides to figure out where Geez's hat was. As it turns out, I passed it many times because when I was in the area for it, I thought it was just decor or something because there was so much garbage on the map, it blended right in. Same with the rope and shovel. At least highlight key interact-able items.
This goes hand in hand with the previous issue: the puzzles are horribly designed (if you can call them puzzles?). Some areas are hidden or seem inaccessible, which is fine, a part of exploration and adventuring is discovering how to get there. However, the way this game is executed is awful. Like I mentioned in the paragraph above, everything seems to blend in. To access some areas, you have to interact with a hole in the wall. And to me, that's not a puzzle....it's just a 'GOTCHA! It was there all along! - kind of thing, which is lazy game design. The little hole in the wall literally just looks like decor because rocks and crevices have texture so I just assumed that it was a part of the pixel art.
The pacing of the game relies on getting certain resources but does not even inform you about how to get to that step. There is a blue coin currency that you gain in this game by either killing wild monsters or keeping your chimera happy in cages. The former method is inefficient but intuitive to find out, but it took a while to discover that you had to keep chimera pens. I would've figured it out eventually, but I feel like a tutorial quest should include building a pen? Another big leap in resource gathering was iron. No where in the game does it tell you that you need tier 2 in perks to access iron. The perk just says 'you can mine tier 2 rocks' which is just so uninformative. What does tier 2 even mean? It's so vague. You need iron to finish one of the errand quest but by the time you get there, you might've spent all your time maxing out other points because you didn't know to save for that perk. These are two horrible game design flaws that I feel like shouldn't be excused by 'no tutorials'. It feels deliberately hidden to cause the player to slow progression.
Lastly, the pacing of the game is horrible and poorly done. Grinding in video games is healthy when the game loop is satisfying, with lots of milestones in between. This game goes from 0 - 100 real fast and you're just expected to repeat that grind with zero new content or even smaller check points in between. It becomes very unsatisfying and not worth it. The jump between killing a few monsters vs your first boss is pretty big, especially if you go a squishy magic build. I also wish I could reset my build but I don't think there's an option for it? Or if there is, the game certainly doesn't tell you.
The few positives:
I did enjoy creature catching and it was cute to swap between them. The early-mid game is quite fun and the initial basic discovery was quite enjoyable. Using spells felt like a unique aspect and I liked the world building.
The collecting and combat is addicting.
This is a what if stardew had more combat, had skilltrees, and had a decent monster collector with a giant overworld to loot.
Despite what the store page says it runs on win7

As others have mentioned, this is not Stardew Valley. This game doesn't hold your hand. The tutorial IS good, and the information IS there, but you do have to pay attention to everything. When the game suggests talk to everyone, it really means it!
This is a robust RPG with strong creature capture, farming, and crafting elements. I'm still early in the game (5 hr at time of review) so the story is alright, nothing really to write home about, but the mechanics of the game are engaging. Definitely a hidden gem!
I'm only a few hours in, will probably revisit the review when I finish. So far I really like it. I wasn't impressed by the art style at first so put it off but saw the mechanics and decided to give it a go anyway. It is sometimes hard to figure out what things are especially because it's new to me and it is a fantasy world but it is definitely growing on me. The story is going really well and I am enjoying the mechanics around gathering and wizardry!

I’m conflicted about whether to give this game a recommendation or not. It keeps the core elements of a beloved, over-saturated genre, but makes a real effort to mix things up, coming up with some ideas I hadn’t seen implemented before in this type of game and which I really liked. On the other hand, there are just a host of aspects which absolutely decimated my enjoyment, and compounded to make this a frequently infuriating experience.
The primary cause of both sides of this sweet-and-stanky dichotomy is a design ethos with two core tenets: 1) as much as possible, find tweaks or entirely new mechanics and systems to replace all the aspects of the genre which players are (over)familiar with, and 2) as much as possible, make the player “discover” everything for themselves – to the extent of usually not explaining how any of these systems operate, or how to engage with them, or sometimes to even give any hint that they exist. It is not hard to understand why this often produces wildly frustrating results.
It is so clear to see how the dev started out with “I hate the fact that so many games feel so similar to play! I love it when I have to work things out in games through exploration and experimentation!” and then unintentionally created something in which it feels like everything, from the tiniest details up to fundamental game systems, is needlessly opaque despite being unintuitive and often contrived.
On top of that, we have the commonplace (and to a large extent forgivable) lack of polish from a solo indie dev with limited experience. So, while you’re fighting your way through all the previously mentioned issues, you also have to contend with an added layer of friction from very poor UX, and several clunky and unbalanced gameplay elements. Exacerbated by this lack of polish, combat really falls flat, feeling extremely dull and repetitive. It’s a shame, because if the chimera mechanics were just a little more coherent and involved, it would help the game as a whole to feel much more engaging.
All that is not to say there is nothing to enjoy here. In particular, using magic just for utility spells actually works really well, and I loved replacing the grunt-work of mining and chopping with sending out a flank of ethereal, conjured tools to do the work for you. It’s also very satisfying that they continue to work regardless of your presence, so you can wander off to deal with other business, and return later to reap the spoils of their work. I wish that I could just appreciate the other original little details like this, instead of having the whole experience spoiled by the overarching flaws.
I should also point out that my recorded playtime isn’t a remotely accurate reflection of how much I actually got out of the game. I would routinely leave the game running in the background while I went off to scour Steam guides / Discord / YouTube for information about something which they didn’t explain in the game, and considering the frequency with which that happened, that idle time really mounts up. Not to mention the several times when I would lose motivation midway through this process, and just wander away from the computer in search of reinvigorating snacks. Or sleep.

前期基本就是砍树挖矿升级技能树（目标获取护林人 III 和矿物学 III以获取更优质资源，多级技能点1即可），做更大的仓库囤种子囤材料（材料不少，大仓库非常重要）,前期千万别种地，没增产的法术+装备+技能+设施=浪费种子！接下来有一种能永久增加最大生命值的方法，隐藏部分[strike]请在通过[/strike]只能在通过秋日森林黑暗迷宫后才能看！→[spoiler]你现在看，你也没有增产的道具。当获取花园手套(丢帽子的老头卖，8金币，一个绿色的手套)+药草帽+药草包+增产法术+播种机(播种机seeder通过加工台制作)后，再确保技能树点满3级Seedling技能，利用重载存档的办法获取更多的JuJu种子。（假设一共有20颗JuJu种子，一次完美种植后大约能提升100点最大生命值外加大约20颗JuJu种子，没错，正确操作后种子只多不少，产物数量无所谓，反正白来的。种植的步骤：种子的总数➗行数4，上面种2行，下面种2行，中间隔一行放播种机(魔力连接给播种机充能)、魔力连接作物使其快速成熟、佩戴花园手套+药草帽+药草包、施展增产法术、存档、再回来收获。若收获的种子量低于消耗的，直接读取上一存档，再收获。每种作物都可按此方法获得额外的果实或种子收益。假如返还的种子数＞收获的土地数，别犹豫先存档，再继续收获并重载存档。返还的种子数比产物数更重要，千万不要让珍贵的JuJu种子数量变少！JuJu种子也可在Chimera商店购买，Chimera商店在女巫公会左侧，日限购1，需要200💧，比较贵，还是用存档刷种子数吧。（增产法术在通过黑暗迷宫后，北边的森林神庙里获取，增产法术的元素指令是：风暴+阳光）[/spoiler]通过围栏圈养Chimera或将其售卖可获得💧，圈养时需注意其心情和饥饿值，否则不产💧。道具可以用ctrl+鼠标左键更改存放位置，用shift或alt变更数量，shift取一半，alt取三分之一。
秋日森林是第一块探索区域，最终目标是黑暗迷宫里找3把钥匙开门去后面神庙拿自然碎片。刚开始可能是为了让玩家熟悉游戏的基本玩法并发育，这片区域没有最终Boss，抵达黑暗迷宫实在找不到钥匙的话再去BiliBili查找攻略，先自己体验游戏。[spoiler]是的，我看了那个视频后，才有了在此讨论的资格，才有后面的攻略。[/spoiler]通过市中心往南有个十字路口（这路口前期得经常跑，本段的路口都是指这里），路口东边是老头的家，获取地上的铲子，房子后面可以买草药背包，帮老头找帽子后老头开始出售土壤和种子还有增产手套。老头的帽子位于：[spoiler]秋日森林深处的西北角，有一个领鱼竿水手，他正下方有个森林，里面全是蓝色的鸟，帽子就在蓝鸟区域右侧[/spoiler]。路口南边偏东是锯木厂营地，可以买树帽和树包，还有免费的锯木机。免费的熔炉在市中心西边的铁匠商店门口摆放，熔炉加工需要燃料木材或煤，材料放金属渣 ->金属块；湿土 -> 沙；沙 -> 玻璃；放石头 -> 石板；放符文最终会升级到元素符文石，以上升级失败只会获得灰烬Ash。1个太阳元素符文石+12金币可升级成随身携带的羽翼宝箱，全程有用尽早获取，兑换地点在女巫公会东边拐角处。[strike]我前期是靠挖矿起家的，卖煤+石板+各种木板，获取大量铜币。[/strike]1000铜币=1金币。熔炉制作石板需要注意：熔炉的材料放石头，燃料一定要放圆形最低级的木材，不要放煤，因为煤比石板还贵！石板也可以在农场铺地砖，加快行走速度。用炸弹配合法术挖矿能减少部分Mana值消耗！继续回到刚才的路口，路口西边可进入秋日森林，最终需要探索黑暗迷宫拿钥匙开门，通过迷宫后往北走即可获取增产法术和自然碎片，神庙开门需要用斯塔文的神器Starwen's Artifact，出来右拐拿蛋，第一区域就算通过了，秋日森林的小怪还是挺多的。可以将生产工具和大箱子放置在小屋内，在室内生产和整理，外部时间是暂停的，比如锯木机，熔炉，工作台，这些生产工具会经常用到。不需要的物品可以点击物品，详情页面的右上角有个棕色图标，点击后物品会消失并记录到notebook上，仅限一次，奖励巫师经验，记录部分材料还会新增工作台的可制作物品。
然后可以把精力放在挖矿和抓宠物和邮件任务上，好的宠物能为前期战斗提升很大帮助，Chimera的属性主要看三点：1，元素属性值对应品级，直接影响伤害，最低1，上限999，会影响升级获得的攻、敏、防、HP等基础属性。2，宠物技能，最多三个，远程释放并且快速释放的优先，有的技能70Power看着挺厉害，其实释放慢，秒伤并不高。3，有无被动，在Chimera面板的元素属性图标右边有个蓝色的四边形，有的不需要休息，有的不需要食物，还有的能爆金币，类型挺多的，自行探索！提升宠物等级可以打女巫公会二层的稻草人，它不会反击，而且一只存在。[strike]我的宠物是一只紫色蜘蛛，名为VENGAR，吸血鬼被动，技能是Bite咬伤+Wampiric Bite吸血咬伤，攻击速度很快而且远程，小怪无需我出手。[/strike]把邮件任务做完最终会获得光环Aura的使用权，最常用的光环是法术护盾，用魔法值代替扣血，避免被怪打死，当然用JuJu种子帮你提升1000点生命值上限也是可以的。羽翼宝箱能额外增加背包7x9=63格，后面掉落的材料和装备比较多，尽早拿下，不用频繁回城。
余烬山脉是我第二块探索区域，在市中心的西面，最终目标拿到太阳碎片。修复断桥后在西南角拿阳光头盔防热，再往西进下一个房间进入余烬山脉，被鱼吹进水再进洞穴找门口有一个灌木丛的出口（如果不掉水里，大概方向就是往西再往北），用魔法弯刀砍倒后出来，西南是增加25%金币获取的方尖碑，激活后进旁边哥布林洞穴，在洞穴深处拿传奇日历，也可停留刷装备刷药，拿完出来往北走到巨魔高原，进洞再进旁边的洞，右拐过桥再往北到传奇之地，将传奇日历归还基座后与龙交谈，门就开了，开启需要的光环Aura然后进洞打Boss，这个洞穴和矿场是通着的，BiliBili有首战Boss攻略的视频，这时强力宠物的作用就出来了，击杀boss后进北门开宝箱拿独一无二的Crocavile雕像，这个雕像一定要保留好，别记录在本上，地上熔岩裂缝用德姆林的闪亮物品，补好血量后再用绳索下去，获取太阳碎片。洞穴深处有30%经验方尖碑，需要在女巫公会三层购买阴影光环后才能深入洞穴激活方尖碑，第二区域也算告一段落。接下来可以去女巫公会的负一层刷技能树Perk的经验，根据未来想走的方向选择经验奖励并加点（优先要收获经验，点亮护林人 III 和矿物学 III，再选择巫师经验点亮Familiar，可以多解锁一个宠物槽，提升团队伤害）。将8个大雕像+16个小雕像摆满，雕像充能后奖励会提升但也更难打，雕像摆放完站中心圆圈等凌晨0点即可开始战斗，打完出来和NPC对话领取奖励。如果打不过就出来，怪物会消失，奖励也没了并且需要重新摆放雕像。
然后是风暴区域，市中心西边有个沙滩，佩戴快速头巾[spoiler]快速头巾像一个红圈，在工作台制作[/spoiler]与沙滩门口的水手对话即可解锁沙滩，可砍铁树，可抓新宠物，可钓鱼，10条金鱼换一个鱼背包。钓鱼需要鱼竿(必需)+鱼钩(必需)+鱼饵(可有可无，有能增加鱼咬钩机率)，这些都得放在快捷栏上才行。钓鱼步骤：快捷栏选择鱼竿，按空格抛竿，上下移动鱼钩至有气泡的水面，咬钩后按一下空格+连续按E [spoiler]按E可能只是图心理安慰[/spoiler]，但戴钻戒是真的容易钓到金鱼。沙滩晚上有汐，白天区域会更大。白天用钓竿+鱼饵触碰东北角的漩涡，会出来一只鲸鱼，将塞拉莓果派喂它，即可前往尼姆布斯群岛区域，去尼姆布斯群岛后无法使用回家技能。塞拉莓果派的配方：[spoiler]（在矿场负三层的秘洞穴里，解救矿工获取，负三层北部岩石开采完即可看见洞穴，获取配方后回到农场通过加工台制作）[/spoiler]尼姆布斯群岛往北走会有三条岔路口，北和东这两个路口通往的最终地点是相同的，是地板解谜游戏，北路口怪比较多，把第一次给东路口，贴着底部边缘走可以避战。解谜游戏通过后再返回东北路口，在白天往北走，这里的上升气流用Tess的占卜图腾，会给你一个螺旋升天帽，戴上帽子就能在气流上起舞了。往北走终点有许多巨型海龟，用萨马拉的项链Samara‘s Necklace收服一只成为你的坐骑，然后你就可以去地图上的任何一个地方了，包括回家，记得身边要足够宽敞。其余的我还在探索中……
【尼姆布斯岛的地板解谜游戏】：右上角启动开关，光球会在中心向右飞出，遇到⭐直行，遇到🌙顺时针90°∠，遇到☀逆时针90°∠，随后当前地板被点亮。当光球点亮所有地板，桥才会通。（建议由内向外拼，边拼边启动开关进行调试，其实不算很难，只是移动地板有些繁琐）

After playing the story to completion, I can't really recommend it. It has so much promise, but it doesn't really deliver. The story pacing is very unsatisfying, coming to an abrupt and unsatisfactory end. The punishing difficulty is actually really fun as a change of pace to more chill games like Stardew Valley (providing you know to expect it) but in conjunction with a lack of auto-saving and frequent crashes, it becomes very unreliable and frustrating. It also becomes very grindy in the mid-section, and not in a fun a way. I loved the art style and world-building, and I wanted to love this so much more, but ultimately it was not a satisfying experience.

I spent two hours playing, and I still can't figure out what is the main game loop of Serin Fate. Maybe it gots better later, but for now - gosh that game is a mess.
good game, difficult enough to not be boring
This game looks like the typical indie game that tried to mash together too much ideas, genres and concepts.
But it just works. Don't expect much polish on it, but what truly matters is definitely there. This game really has its own tropes, which is a rarity nowadays (but might confuse even seasoned gamers though).
If you have a common interest in farming-sims, creature collection and mild adventure/rpg with cryptic but rewarding world building and progression, you might actually enjoy it much more than many better polished games. This definitely feels like the dev's made their dream game and poured all the passion and soul they could in it.
Absolutely love this game. It was so much fun to play. Capture unique creatures. Use magic to fight, explore etc. Definitely worth your time!

I just had my first death after i got attacked while in a dialogue. You lose a lot from death and to have my first death happen to me completely out of my own control is pretty sad and leaves a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ taste especially since this is basically first impressions. Feel like i just wasted an hour and half.
It's too hard
The game is good. However it isnt executed well. Enemies between levels jump a ridiculous amount. The game gives absolutely no hints how to move forward. You have to spend hours guessing. Overall I have had fun playing it but now I am on the second level and am absolutely stuck. Even after hours of stat grinding. Also there is no good walkthrough available for when you do get stuck.
TLDR: It's The Linear Legend of Zelda and Pokemon but the player moves slow and can only trade blows.
- This is primarily an adventure game with a side of magical farming which you can mostly ignore.
- The spells are purely for utility, it's summoning pickaxes, axes, rain clouds for watering, teleportation etc.
- You only have two weapon choices, your melee stick or your range stick. One requires you to get close enough and do a laughable charge up attack that lets your enemies eat your face while the other stick lets you throw your stick from the edge of your screen so long as you successfully lock onto them and can hold the attack button to auto-attack while still being able to move. Yes I'm talking about the sword being the best ranged weapon.
- Difficulty is purely a numbers game, if you can't outdps the enemy before it outdps' you, you lose. There's little strategy involved.
- There's no player dodging involved, spells will home into you, that leaves only having a good chunk of hp or mp with the spell shield perk to block against damage and the passive "dodge" skill to mitigate it entirely. 0 player skill involved other than managing your potion drinking timings I guess. The final fight was just holding down spacebar and moving the character close enough while watching a video as my character just dodge tanked it while I slowly whittle down its inflated hp while occasionally drinking a mana potion if it's close to 0.
- The game is pretty linear despite it being marked as "open world", there's a clear prerequisite to travel to each region.
- FIshing mini-game is pretty neat, I like the idea of it and would like to see it improved upon.
- Crafting feels too slow for my taste, but at least the items on the ground don't expire so you just set and forget it while you grind.
- Creature collection was mixed it was okay at the start where everything was new but then I realized pets get tired and just neglected them in favor of character power who doesn't get tired. It also doesn't help that the powers it get is a bit randomized. Like the game says, it's free dps.
- Not a fan of the one save mechanic, mostly because if it gets corrupted it goes bye bye. Luckily the game was pretty stable for me until completion.
- Their statement of grindy is definitely true.
- The spell mechanics has the potential if it was the primary means of combat. Unfortunately it did not go the Magicka route with more spell combinations outside of utility.
Overall an enjoyable experience so long as you ground your expectations.
So sad they gave up on this game instantly after release.
This games does a lot right. I loved it and will probably do another play through in the future. Would it benefit from a bit more polishing (i'm looking at you inventory management)? Yes. Do the love interests have beaks? Again yes. It's a great game that hits like a developers love letter to a Harvest Moon/ Pokemon cross over.
Really enjoyed the game, did several play troughs and I wish there was a sequel.
I don't have energy of wish to spent on describing why is it bad.
Charming concept, terrible game design
Save game file can just disappear randomly.
I wanted so badly to like this game because it's clear that there was a lot of love and work put into the game and there's a lot to do. However, it was so poorly designed as a game that I found myself either lost or frustrated most of the time.
I don't mind games that throw you in without much guidance and encourage you to discover things on your own. However, the game design does not allow you to do so in a manner that makes sense, things are all over the place despite some hints here and there. Some of the art also creates further confusion, as it's not entirely clear what is what sometimes or what part of the game is actually interactive/walkable area. I'm not talking about the secret hidden passageways and switches, I literally tried to walk in town through unwalkable areas because they read as a pathway more than a wall. This is exacerbated by the awkward counter-intuitive default controls, so I end up spending a whole day in an area just trying to get something done.
The parts I was able to play, I did immensely enjoy and there's certainly a lot of things to do (monster catching, leveling, crafting, harvesting, etc). I was even interested in the storyline. However, these moments felt trapped between frustration and confusion and overall I decided not to continue the game. If the developer released a new game, I would definitely try it as this game holds a lot of promise and passion already. I would just hope for a better-thought-out game design overall.
If you want to play the game, I highly recommend following a guide (though not too many out there).

Rough around the edges but still very fun to explore and figure out. Definitely a passion project, and one I would love to see more of.
I had a blast playing this game. It's really cozy, yet grindy. To me it has big Zelda/Final Fantasy/Ghibli vibes, and that's exactly why I love it. I find it a bit sad that the story isn't longer, but overall it's a lot of fun. I love the farming/crafting and monster catching/breeding system in this game aswell, it's a really nice addition. This game has a few secrets/hidden area's and riddles that I really enjoyed. It is well worth it's price!
The game isn't completely bad, but it's a chore to play.
So I agonized over whether to give this game a negative review, as I find it very interesting and unique, but also unbalanced, counter-intuitive, awkwardly difficult, and needlessly frustrating. Ultimately the only reason I went with a recommend is because i was able to get a Steam key for under ten dollars on another site and at that price i would wholeheartedly recommend it to others to experience.
I'll lead off with the good because like i say, this game IS very much worth trying. First off, it is VERY impressive for a single dev game. The systems and mechanisms in Serin Fate go out of their way to be unique, which can be both charming and irritating depending on your take but i personally found them to be a breath of fresh air in a somewhat stagnating genre filled with seemingly copy-pasted gameplay. There is also the scope of the game, SF attempts to wear many hats, and by and large does so smoothly. For example, having the monster raising aspect overlap with the farming/livestock aspect highlights both of my above points. Generally, nothing ever really feels shoe-horned in, at least not to me. There is always something to do (sometimes TOO many things) so you only ever feel stuck in a rut when your trapped by a progression grind mechanic (more on this later). Also, I personally LOVE the soundtrack. This game wears it's love for (the SNES classic) Earthbound on it's sleeve, and as an obsessive fan of that series I appreciate the homages.
I just want to be clear, and i can't state this strongly enough: when you have a clear goal in mind and are working to accomplish it, the game SINGS.
And now for the airing of grievances.
The game is willfully, infuriatingly, self indulgently obtuse.
I'd like to start off saying that I am no stranger to games where i needed a guide. I played minecraft since the eeeeeeearly alpha days where the wiki may have well been part of the game, and frankly do not like having my hand held, preferring to skip tutorials and learn on the fly. Ienjoy the challenge of discovery, it is entertaining to me as most games attempt to be at least somewhat intuitive. Things progress in a seemingly natural way, one leading to the next. Not so in Serin Fate. Despite having unique, possibly innovative mechanics and structure, SF chooses to give you next to no instruction on how to progress, and there is NO solid or consistent structure for progression. Sometimes you need to construct a new tier of workbench, sometimes you need to unlock a new spell, sometimes you need to go find and complete a random quest from a random villager. SOMETIMES (warning, FEELINGS incoming), you need to unlock the next level of a spell for mining ore, and then GRIIIIIND in order to unlock a PERK, a perk WELL up the perk tree, in order to ACTUALLY MINE the ore you unlocked the spell to mine hours ago. Nothing in the game informs you of this. There is nothing to infer it from. There is nothing that even HINTS at the fact you need a PERK to use a SPELL you already unlocked. A spell you unlocked VERY EARLY locked behind a perk you unlock MUCH LATER. You must "figure out" such illogical things in much the same way you might use a fish to unlock a door in an oldschool pixel hunt point and click (/feelings). The fact that the wiki is rather barebones and lacking in detail, leaving you to read through/watch walkthroughs (IE have your hand held, ironically) in order to find your next step, doesn't help. All of which throws a large splash of cold water on whatever enthusiasm the game had justifiably built up to that point.
I have a few other complaints, like the perk tree being awkwardly ordered, seemingly at random in places (in order to get to the aforementioned mining perk i had to go through multiple fishing skills i didn't want, and several other perks i would not have chosen if it weren't the only way to get to a progression necessary skill) but none come close to the ways in which this game will leave you scratching your head in frustration when a simple explanation, or even a quest showing the way could have easily dispelled the confusion. Another example, you will get absolutely wrecked by monsters when taking a path you are instructed to take and have little idea how to strengthen yourself outside of griiiiiiiinding, as armor, weapons and accessories have no explanation of what their stats or bonuses are until you craft them, nor are you told that bonuses are randomized so it's encouraged to craft the same piece multiple times (despite many pieces being very resource intensive early game so that is not really an option and you just have to cross your fingers and hope, or save scum). All in all it feels like artificial difficulty, and rather than being challenging it ends up being exhausting.
HOWEVER!
With ALLLL that being said, I honestly and sincerely see a LOT of promise here. There is obviously enough genuinely engaging, origional, and downright FUN gameplay to be had to keep me playing, despite the things causing me to gnash my teeth and tear my hair. At the very least it's inspired enough strong feelings in me to pen this small novella, which is the mark of a strong piece of work. I would very much like to see another entry from this developer, maaaaybe with another person involved or on the team to hopefully offer some perspective and keep the mysteries out of the *mechanics* and in the *story*. But either way i look forward to seeing what they come up with next!

Introdução muito longa e com um tutorial não muito intuitivo.
Os controles e jogabilidade ficaram muito complexos e manuais, sem muitos atalhos práticos.
Como trabalha com crafting e sendo esta uma das partes fundamentais do jogo faltou um guia para esta parte.
Alguns erros básicos.
-Menu de crafiting não acessa os baús para saber se tem material ou não para produzir, tem que tirar do baú e deixar no menu.
-Menu de crafting não tem filtro de só mostrar o que tem material disponível. Assim tem que ficar caçando se tem ou não os materiais necessários.
Enfim faltou um polimento básico que já deveria ter sido feito considerando o tempo que já foi lançado.
O jogo é bom, o aspecto de você ser um bruxo, conseguir voar na vassoura, ter os bichos tipo pokemon, tudo muito legal, porém o jogo tem vários problemas de explicação, ele te joga num mundo onde tem tudo e não te explica nada, não te fala que pra pescar você precisa do anzol e da isca, não te ensina a usar as passagens secretas, as alavancas escondidas, não te dá uma direção do que tem que fazer e nem de como fazer. O combate é extremamente difícil no começo e isso pode ser frustante pra muita gente. Mas como disse, a temática do jogo é interessante, se tivesse o 2 eu compraria. Pra quem for comprar, dá uma lida nos tópicos da comunidade aqui da steam porque lá que vai te ensinar as coisas sobre o jogo.

I really enjoyed the beginning of the game, and discovering the world and game mechanics. Unfortunately, auto-save is a modern invention that should not be discarded even in a 'retro' style game. I am not a teenager playing Chrono Trigger anymore, reflexively saving at every opportunity. i am 40 with a full time job. I don't have time to replay three days of game play after a tree stump monster one shots me, especially as I can't tell the chimera apart from the monsters at this early stage of the game. You have an option for hard core perma death, why not add an option for easy mode where the death penalties are lessened...

I picked up Serin Fate because it looked to mix things I liked. Magic, exploration, farming. ... And it does, to a point. This is, however, not quite a Stardew experience. Relationships with the characters are limited, farming has a few neat twists but isn't as expansive or important - mostly, and magic isn't... what you might expect. You don't really cast spells to hurt. You cast them to mine, to chop trees, to summon rain, to capture creatures pokemon style, to fish, to.. well, you get the idea. I will say conjuring ethereal axes and pickaxes in swarms to mine and chop for me was a pretty cool way to go about gathering resources.
Combat comes in four basic flavors. Swing a sword, swing a staff, summon a horde of little guys using necromancy to hit things for you, and/or the pokemon style creature collection. The necromancy was a bit unexpected, but fun to see. Nothing horribly complicated here. Which goes for most of the game.
The crafting is extensive but utterly obtuse, and it'll take you most of the game to figure out what you're doing. Stats are poorly explained, can't be previewed before crafting, and the crafting menu itself is fairly simple and unhelpful. It's also slow, sometimes. For staffs, mostly. When you start crafting your first new staff, you'll probably think the progress bar is bugged. It takes *ages* to make progress through crafting. I finished the game with an Ice Staff because my attempt to craft a Meteor Staff - which may or may not have even been an improvement, I'll never know - took so, so long (even with a passive Mana Link) that I ended up finishing the game before it. I've heard this was a balancing choice because staff attacks are AoE, but honestly it just feels ridiculous. And it's not like I couldn't just leave the game running while I do something else, y'know? That's just not fun.
The crafting isn't the only thing tough to figure out. In fact, it'll take you most of the game to figure out *anything*.
Serin Fate is a game that forces you to think, explore, try literally everything - including running into and interacting with every wall, piece of furniture or obstacle you encounter. And you'll still probably miss half of everything and completely fail to puzzle out just what you're supposed to be doing at any given time. The game will not guide you, will not explain anything, and its ideas of progression remind me of Deponia in terms of how utterly bizarre and unorthodox they sometimes are.
You can, of course, simply look up answers online. There are several general guides through the game, answered questions and bits of advice here and there. I ended up having to. Several times. Because I just could not figure out how something was supposed to work or even where I was supposed to be going. ... In retrospect, however, I can absolutely see tiny hints here and there and a general flow. It just wasn't at all clear to me in the moment. ... Online resources are terribly scarce in terms of real detail, and a lot of things just have not been asked or answered, however. You'll find a barely half-finished and mostly useless wiki and mostly brief explanations.
If you enjoy working things out for yourself, this is the game for you.
The story is simple and nothing to write home about. But works for the game.
I didn't run into any particular performance issues, bugs, crashes, or other technical problems. The game worked and ran flawlessly and never gave me ♥♥♥♥.
Overall, I do recommend it if it looks or sounds like the kind of game you might enjoy. It took me nearly a solid fifty hours to play through, and I could have done more. I enjoyed playing it. It was charming, engaging, puzzling, and overall just... pretty nice.
Game started off really interesting but once you get necromancy the game is just far too simple and easy. You just watch your minions wreck the screen like a path of exile build while you just walk around and collect loot. Its so simple with the minions that I am able to bring up my inventory and sort through it mid combat. The collecting and farming isnt bad but it just feels pointless and tedious when I don't even need to use consumables or anything. After doing the first few zones and fighting the crocovile boss, I just felt like it was a boring cycle with far too many needless smaller things that the player needs to just figure out or google.

안그래도 난시인데 이게임을 플레이 한 후 병세가 악화되었습니다.
나는 양쪽 시력이 그래도 각각 1.0은 된다 하시는 분들만 플레이하십쇼.
This game is for everyone who loves to explore, farm, upgrade their property and still be able to do adventures.
That said, it's also very frustrating at some point, because you get no clue at all, that helps to understand what you have to do. I had to use Wikis and Community-Forums several times, because I got stuck.
Also it seems, like there is still a lot of content, that leads to dead ends or is unfinished.. but maybe i just didn't find the right tool to interact with it (for example, a flower in the zixis castle, that seems to be important for some quest, but does nothing).
Pros:
+ A LOT OF STUFF TO EXPLORE (incl. Secrets)
+ many cool mechanics, for example the magic system
+ Artwork is great
+ Total freedom with consequences if you don't follow the story in time
Cons:
- Game feels incomplete at some points
- Missing clues on how to interact with stuff or what items are for (venom, fang, etc.)
- Controller Support is very bad (Navigation through inventory, map, etc. is awful)
- only 2 weapon types
- the final scene was kinda dissapointing
But even with so many negative points, the game was a lot of fun and kept me playing for over 80h, so i would recommend it.

A little confusing as to what to do sometimes, but INCREDIBLY cute and fun, with so much to explore. Shockingly high polish for an indie game as well.

Zbyt dużo pracy skierowano na dopieszczenie wyglądu/ grafiki, a pozostałe rzeczy zrobiono byle były, nie trzeba z nich korzystać by gre ukończyć.
This game put Stardew valley through a magical blender spiced up with WAY too many semi-broken, badly explained / contained / managed systems.
The writing was decent at first, but then I started running into elementary grammar mistakes...-Which mimics my experience with the game perfectly: It felt like a great Stardew Valley with magic at first, but every system is cluttered with nonsenical logic and an overabundance of sub-systems that the devs just refused to explain at all...
-Games with insane amounts of wasted promise like this, is why having a QA specialist and conducting Playtesting is essential.
Serin Fate is a console ported 2D retro pixel hybrid adventure/action game that seems to be trying to rip off Final Fantasy, Stardew Valley and Pokemon all the same time. It's considerably worse than all three games, lacking polish, with poor quality graphics (even for pixelcrap). Gameplay is tedious and clunky. The game seems somewhat incomplete despite departing Steam Early Access.
From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result.
While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lacklustre 2D visuals. The resolution maxes out at a bizarre 3360x1890... this is not the native resolution for any gaming PC monitor. What kind of bizarre, messed up resolution selection is that? It's evident the developers never saw or used a gaming PC before.
Because this is a console game, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the inferior console gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the console-centric developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for consoles forces upon a game. Once more, console peasants have made gaming worse for everyone.
Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the GameMaker Studio construction kit/toolset. This is a very poor quality toolset favoured by amateur developers as it's cheap and requires little in the way of development skill, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities. Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine. GameMaker Studio is most commonly used to make retro pixel shovelware and cash grabs, like this.
A strong argument can be made that construction kits like GameMaker Studio should never be used to make games for profit, as the "developer", Vethergen has done here. These construction kits are intended to teach people some of the basic principles of game development, and to make small demos to pass around with friends. They're not intended to replace to actual work of real, professional game developers. So it's inappropriate when amateurs try to use these for profit, without any actual, real game development effort taking place. This doesn't result in products that have any real meaningful value for gamers.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
Serin Fate didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is human, but only around 36 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. Hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the game.
Serin Fate has the laughable, eye-watering price of $20 USD, for which you could easily get any number of older AAA games. This costs more than Stardew Valley, the game it's ripping off. The developers seriously seem to think this GameMaker Studio construction kit garbage is so good, it should cost more than Mass Effect, Death Stranding, Red Dead Redemption 2... it's a complete joke. This is also competing with over 9,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.
This game has so many cool concepts going on, but the implementation is very poor and makes for a confusing and boring gameplay.
The graphic style is poor and makes it harder to discern what's going on.
Even on a high end system the loading times for every little house or area are really bad and detrimental to the gameplay.
I would judge this to be a 5$ game. There are a TON of blaring issues that have been present for several years and as a whole it has a play feel similar to SNES Legend of Zelda mixed with a few Stardew Valley elements and a janky AF pokemon system. I liked collecting them but they were dumb to use. The player owned home system felt like harvest moon where the inside is prefab, position of home is prefab and you have no say about it.
The spell casting system was cute despite being clunky. Inventory management isn't handled well but it atleast has auto-fill to nearby containers. I had no issues with the feat ladder tree system they used. It felt appropriately difficult to climb it. The character equipment system was both good and bad. You're kind of choked into using specific crap early game and the variety only occurs late game. The part I liked was the chance of items having bonus attribute and enchantments. I doubled my mana pool earlygame with a copper helm and never replaced it because of all the benefits it had on it, lol.
On the topic of mana pool, I felt resources were handled great midgame, health was poorly handled early game. Fighting starts as a risky engage with a chance of ♥♥♥♥ spawning right onto you to finish you off. Midgame it was mostly buttonmashing and recouping from the fight cost which felt pretty generic. Being a pokemon master was prolly beneficial late game but I never made it there.
I enjoyed 18 hours of gameplay and would have played to completion had I not had a game crash cause an extremely significant rollback. Lack of responsible autosave is a red flag for me. :c
Kinda surprised how many of these "farm sim RPG" things are out there where they try to staple on a bunch of new stuff to see what happens.
Overall, the game isn't bad enough to justify a thumbs down, but it's a "meh". Really the game's saved by the overall vibes it's got, and having a pretty neat magic system, plus I'm a big sucker for games with skill trees and player-chosen stat increases.
The main issue I've got is the game has the same issue as Sun Haven, but even more.
The devs forgot to balance the game, and mages have the best time, just like in SH. You NEED magic for 99% of the content in the game, from catching monsters to mining, and lots of other stuff, so if you try to do anything but be a mage, you're completely out of luck.
Best example: take three in-game days to grow your plants without magic. Take about 15 seconds with magic.
To nobody's surprise, one of the racial picks you can choose is a pure mage race, and one of the magical bonuses they get is MP regen! Bruh.
For context, the "main" way to get MP back is during every night, you'll walk around in like a "dream" body and collect falling stars. Other than that, there's consumables and some equipment, but at that point you're just playing catch-up, sacrificing equipment slots for a bit of a bandaid fix.
This game is charming but the progression is terrible.
My impression of the game is more or less positive, Maybe 3.5 / 5. At it's core it's a rough but still fun little indie gem with a lot of flaws. Use a walkthrough or you'll get frustrated, the game is very obtuse and often requires you to do a series of seemingly unconnected actions (often at specific times of day) in order to progress.
If you want to break the game put all your points and gear evenly between dexterity and intelligence, use a staff, use spellshield and it's perks, and aim to get Wizardry X and Amplify X buff on all your gear pieces. Dealing almost 20k per hit to mobs by end game with a large mana pool which serves as health, while dodging 80%+ of hits, it's absurd. I can even waltz through the 'instant-death' smite-hexes near the end of the game, dodging or soaking them as I run inside the manor UWU
If you can put up with the idiosyncrasies and use a walkthrough, you'll probably have a fun time. P.S. The game is inventory management hell so get the winged chest and super chest asap if you want to keep your sanity.
P.S. with the right perk you can cut down the magic trees which grant probably the most important crafting material. What materials you can mine are based on your perk tree, not the rank of your harvest spell.

Does what it says on the tin. Frustrating at times but entirely competent. Didn't feel like finishing it but enjoyed my time.
No direction at all. I shouldn't need to follow a walk through to go through the game. Avoid this game.

Overall the game is entertaining
It seems to be mostly unfinished. There are also parts of the towns where random buildings have been placed with no paths leading to them. The tutorial is, well, barely there and the combat scaling is odd. Going into the mine is the perfect example, as you need those ores, but there are monsters there that are ridiculously powerful for your level. Do they expect us to grind to higher levels while not even leaving the first town?
The game is really beautiful and has an interesting theme, but I just couldn't get myself to enjoy it.
At first I picked this game up in Kickstarter thinking of a Magicky Stardew Valley, but as I got to finally play it, it felt kinda stream lined, I guess I expected more of a Sandbox feel.
I really tried enjoying this game, installed and unninstalled it 2 times, but end up not having fun as I played it.

This game is trying to be pokemon, stardew valley, and, rune factory. It just doesn't quite get there, this game needs some polish. The "spells" to farm items or mine are over complicated. The menu is cumbersom and not streamlined.
The mp pool that is used to farm is needlessly low. So you run out far to quickly. You have to eat or wait or manually run along the map and collect mp while your character is asleep. Fallout 76 was less of a hassle than this...

I bought this in hopes it played well on steam deck. So far I can say it plays nicely. Decent battery life too. You do need to play it at 60fps otherwise you’ll play slow mo if you have it set to 30.. Some of the controls are weird but interesting and not hard to get used too.
This game really does give you that new and unique kind of game feel, but it also doesn’t hold your hand either. And considering the store page I’d say that’s intentional. I followed all the tutorials and definitely read up on other players issues to prepare myself and though I’m not exactly sure what I should be doing I enjoyed roaming around and fiddling with the game. I don’t have many hours into this at all, but so far the weakest draw for me has been the Pokémon-like chimaeras I think they’re called. Mines level 4 and seems it’s already going to be a grind to level him. I managed to catch some random nature bug looking one at lvl 24 and I don’t know if that’s balanced or not or what. But so far it seems kind of gimmicky. They don’t gain any experience unless you use their move’s specifically which is ok, but runs out of AP quickly and then you have to attack yourself to build AP back up to use their moves again. Kind of weird how it works and definitely encourages me to use my own wand attacks over them. Much quicker. There are a few things the game doesn’t explain well at all like what necro is or how to gain it. The perk tree was confusing at first but I started leveling and I hope I’m doing alright. Overall I do think the experience is pleasant on the steam deck, well worth trying out if you’re looking for a more unique experience with character. This games got that
I couldn't get over the art style long enough to enjoy the game. I didn't think I was shallow but this game proved me wrong.
This is the most linear crafting game I've ever played.
You can do plenty of stuff, but you have to do them in a certain order, or you will not advance. Interested in growing crops? You can do it for a healthy 30 minutes or so, until you run out of seeds and soil, and until you realize that you won't get anything for doing so. Same thing with mining. You can mine a couple of stones, but they will not refresh, and unlocking more stones requires unreasonable amounts of money that you can't possibly make. Instead, you will have to roam around and try to figure out what the game wants you to do next. And that is exactly what this game is actually about.
If you like point and click gameplay where you need to figure out what to do next, then this game might actully be for you. If you want to make your own choices what to craft, mine, who to befrend, if you want to sell or buy stuff, or want to be able to replay this game, then I would not recommend it.
I've not beaten the game yet but after 24 hours of play I feel like I've got a pretty good handle on the game. I'll start by saying you should absolutely heed the games warning that it is not easy. It does not hold your hand. Many things will not be readily explained to you at all and you will find your game play experience greatly benefiting from reading few a few guides to fully understand what is really expected to you.
In example you will be given a quest to 'bury some monster bones' and then dust them. No problem I thought, I'll use the key shovel item I got and then bury them! Nope. You just use them from your hotbar like any other item. Several times I've had confusion as to what I am really meant to do vs what I am reading.
But really I don't begrudge the game too much for this. It was made by one Dev, his mental mapping of things don't match up to mine. I can work around it. What I can work around less is often how frustrating the game feels. when you die you get to sit there and watch as the game slowly lists out all the bad things that happens to you. You can't speed this up, you can't skip this. It's my biggest source of irritation over anything else in the game.
But the game is finished. And it is mechanically fairly dense. You'll just need to do some digging to find out anything about them. So with all that said, get the game on sale and I think it is a decent time. I think it's gotten a unfairly harsh wrap placed against it. It wore what it was very openly on the steam page, and I went in knowing it touted itself as HARD.
I really like this game. I didn't expect to, but I do. I almost gave up on it after I played through the whole intro and then the game crashed before I could save, I'm glad I gave it another chance. It does enough things differently from Stardew Valley that it's worth a play.
Also, this game is chocked full of secrets, which I like.

Incomplete game with multiple objects unable to interact using the main character. Functions can only be done on the lower tier, and not the higher tier. The whole game experience feel like playing an undergoing developed game.
I read all the negative reviews and almost didn't try to find my way in Serin Fate. Boy am I glad I did!
To set the stage, I'm 54 & just started gaming during Covid. So my gaming intuition is not finely honed and I have relied on walk throughs, Steam guides, etc. to keep games going. To say that there isn't enough of that for this game now on Steam isn't true. In addition, I've learned that games used to be things you had to find your way in instead always being hand held. Welcome to Serin Fate. I recommend checking out the early start guides in the community hub b/c they helped me get the general mechanics of the game from the start.
This game is fun! Yes, it's grindy, but what game in this genre isn't? The concept is interesting and unique. The battles are tough but surmountable. You have to think b/c which runic power will serve you best? Nature, Storm, Void??? Give yourself a chance to find out.
I wish more games would adopt the fishing mini game in Serin Fate it's 10/10 original and good
seems to try and join the genre of stardew valley or harvest moon or rune factory. even adds its own touch of being a creature collector/top down combat RPG. however, to me, like kynseed it kind of falls off for not being intuitive.
I hope all goes well for the dev but i just didnt feel satisfied with serin fate.
Maybe you have finished the storyline of the game, but the game itself is not polished, bugfree and misses QoL stuff.

I bought this game 2 years or so ago, I played it for around 20 hours then stopped with the intent of starting again when the game came out on full release.
The game is fun but feels very unfinished, not much changed since the first day I played it.
Pretty gutted ngl.

It's fun, but... the whole thing seems largely unfinished, and there hasn't been any news regarding updates and patches, despite the 'full release' being exactly a year ago.
All in all, I don't advise paying for a game that doesn't seem like it will be finished anytime soon (if ever).
I like the game. But there is still some stuff lacking...
1. A better MAP, a zoom in version that actually shows the terrain as is. Or at least show paths and vendors in a better way .
2. A better HUD & CONTROLS & OPTIONS.
3. attack in 45 degree angles
4. some bugged objectives " collect flower pedales"
This game is beyond annoying. First of all, literally everything is some hidden secret place. I get having secret spots, but jeez I can't find a damn thing in this game because EVERYTHING is secret. Second, there is no explanation for a lot of very important things and the tutorial is basically worthless. Third, the game seems to have changed so many times that it's impossible to find any sort of accurate guides/maps/etc. I could keep going on and on about how annoying this game is. The character drawings are ugly af, there's a magic mirror that is supposed to give you "tips" but tells you nothing of real value, and part of the main story is locked behind the skill tree (which it does not tell you). I tried so, so hard to like this game because the concept is super fun, but I am uninstalling because it is basically unplayable.

Serin fate is a game that I adore.
To be clear I have yet to finish Serin Fate (Not that I can't, I just enjoy the magical farm life perhaps a bit to much). Despite that I feel like I can give an fair review of the game.
I'll start by touching on it's weaker points and move into the positives.
So Serin Fate tells you very little. Most of what you can do is hidden and requires active exploration and experimentation from the player. This relates to both game mechanics and to the story itself. The former is fine, for reasons I'll get into later, the latter is less so. For example there is a point in the game where you need to befriend a large aquatic creature. This is done by unlocking the beach area. Obtaining a fishing pole. Fishing in the far corner of the beach map to disturb the creature. Once you've done so you'll need to have a specific crafted item to give it. You can only get the recipe to craft this item by saving another NPC on the opposite side of the game map, in a dungeon. The problem is that nothing at all in the game even hints at the relation of these events. You just need to do everything you can, everywhere you can, and hope you've done the right things to progress the story. In some cases players may even lose track of the plot in-between steps to further it. If I were to offer a fix to this it would be have a helper NPC (like a mentor) visit the player at their home every so often to discuss what they might do next. Or you could add a "divination" option to the talking mirror in the players home to offer hints on how to further the story.
Now I know that might sound a bit off putting to some people, but worry not. For what the game itself lacks in instruction it makes up for with its community. There already exists a full guide of the game on steam, along with minor guides to help players get started. On top of that the Discord is a great place to ask other players for advice. This makes a perfect segue into the positive aspects of Serin Fate.
Serin Fate is a story about you. A youth living in a world full of magic and wonder. You live in a small village that gathered around an object called the fate stone. Every so often this stone chooses members of the village to become Witches, individuals able to wield magic. This year it chose you as part of the next generation of Witches. You are inducted into the Witch's Guild, where you are givin lessons on the basics of spell craft. It becomes apparent that the guild doesn't have a long term education plan. The existing witches provide you with what you need to start your journey and that's it. The subtle nuance in this decision is profound.
Rather than have the Guild leaders teach you everything, it is up to you the students (Players) to figure things out as best you can on your own. I imagine this was one of the reasons some called it Pixel Dark Souls. As many things were discovered by players interacting with one another. Not in the form of in game messages, but through each of us asking question, testing limits, praying to dark gods, in order to unlock the secrets of magic. I will continue that tradition here by sharing everything I have learned about Necromancy.
Normal undead minions use your Com and Dex stats to calculate damage. They attack as if they are you. Meaning they use your Witch's Fate element as well.
You can unlock a perk to make Undead Magi which instead use your Int stat. Keep in mind that once you unlock the magi perk summoned undead will be either Normal or Magi at random. You do not choose which of the two.
They also benefit from the 20% damage increase the Storm Fate gives you. So if you're a human Storm which that's a total of 30% damage buff to all undead you summon. 20/60 if you're Serin (20% physical, 60% Magic)
Finally the best way to level Necromancy early on is to visit the chapel with an active aura. While it is active take a seat and focus your dark thoughts. (You may want to afk and live your life for about 8 hours, but after that you should have a decent amount of Necro Exp to play with.)
Now go forth and gently tumble into Necro- Magic.
I was a kickstarter backer and really wanted to like this game. But... 21 hours in, on my third world- I just... I can't recommend it. Honestly at this point it feels like I am banging my head against the wall.
the game itself is charming, has great music, world design- secrets... but good luck getting to most of it. It feels like the game is actively out to get you- like it wants to troll you on purpose. Yes, retro game, yes, it is meant to be hard but no- this is overkill. You enter a new area and pretty much everything can one shot you- eventually you get through after far too long but yeah. Here's how it goes generally.
You reach a new area, you kill some monsters. They are hard so you spend a good deal of time fighting said monsters. More monsters spawn moments after you kill the last ones. You can't fully clear the area, so you move on. You keep pushing forward hoping to find more items, auras or spells to get you through to the next area. The whole time you keep dying, losing stuff and having to do the long and slow walk back to where you came from. Eventually you get statues but all that does is teleports you into yet another area that is ready to one shot you. Also you have like no inventory space, because that's what everyone really loves. Inventory tetris. EVENTUALLY you get a flying chest that makes this mildly easier- but only after stumbling through three uselessly small levels of chest and a lot of trying to find out how to get a "sun rune".
I can't get enough materials for anything important like magic chests, and pretty much everything is locked behind a very linear skill tree where you need to bee line for certain important skills or you might as well be wasting your time. You go into a cave, it has goblins. The goblins are strong but you take out most of them- shame there is a statue there so it keeps summoning goblins in insane levels before you eventually just get angry and throw bombs at them. The bombs do nothing. Eventually you feed your pet, get ready and try again hoping to make it. You make it in, right next to the statue. Now you've dealt with statues before, you just pick them up. Surely it is the same here as in your farm. Nope. This statue is stuck to the ground and can't be moved for anything. Eventually after an hour of trying you force your way in to get the item you need to win the area but at what cost.
Most puzzles or areas require you to be lucky enough to have ran into one line of text and remember it. Good luck. I found a whale by the shoreline, eventually I found a sailor in a bar that said they like pies. So I made a pie, took it to the whale and- nope. It wasn't the RIGHT pie. I need a particular pie that turns out comes from a quest in the mines. So I go to the mines, last time I ran into a massive dragon so I ran away because it was level 130ish while I was like, level 15 tops. This time at least I am powerful enough for the dragons but I get down to a floor. The miner is there but out of reach, there are rocks that I can't break in the way. Thankfully if I stand in the one place the fire flowers don't hit you- until they do. and they do. You don't notice because you are too busy working out how to upgrade your mining spell into level 3 that you die.
You come back down again, and after a long time waiting and mining with your Mining Level 2 spell you finally make it down- to find an entirely unrelated floor. How do I get to the miner? I don't know. The game doesn't reward progress. You never feel the power of being a mage until you no longer need to visit the area again. Sure, you go back to an area later and you feel like a god- but why go back? There is nothing there. If there IS an area you somehow haven't unlocked yet there you'll still be too weak for that level too.
Honestly, I really wanted to love this game I did. I really really really did. I thought it would be a magical Stardew Valley- but no. It isn't even a magical rune factory. It just feels cruel.
I've been having a blast playing the game. The grind is enjoyable and relaxing and I feel like there's always something to do. There's no sense of urgency, just a curiosity on what is around the next corner and the gamble of what chimera will spawn as I walk into the area. The art style is gorgeous, and the music is calming.
As the description says, you will die... a lot. Sometimes dying feels like BS, sometimes it feels deserved, but it is not particularly punishing. You lose some gold and XP, but no items.
My main qualm I've been having is that consuming items and attacking are the same button so I've accidently spam drunk potions because I missed clicking on the sword icon for combat, though I do realize that hitting ctrl will also make me go into combat. I am also leery of other people's reports of their save files corrupting since there is only one save file and backing it up is not straight forward.
Lovely looking game, fantastic concept, but the controls are not very good. it feels extremely difficult and awkward to be using the mouse for only some of the things and then the keyboard for a majority of things. It feels very clunky and the longer i played the more i wished i would just use the keyboard for everything, because half the controls are on one side of the keyboard and the the rest are on the other side and then UH OH YOU NEED TO USE A SPELL FIND YOUR MOUSE. it needs to be able to be played with one side of the keyboard only and then the mouse for more things than just spellcasting (and make spellcasting easier and faster since it is said in the game you need to do it quickly.)the ideal controls for me would be the option to use the spells by corresponding and configuring the different elements of spells to certain keys. like x,c,v,b or number keys or y,u,i,o.
therefore i cannot personally continue playing this game, but it is beautiful and i love the concept and the story and the humor and the gathering.... my literal only gripe is the controls.
