Taking the intrinsically silly 'gun-fu' concept and actually delivering a competent implementation with supporting animation is rather commendable.

Somehow everything feels a little bit wrong and I don't even know how.
My PC is rather powerful as it can play games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 with no problems. But this game doesn't even launch and will crash back to desktop after a few seconds. Apparently quite a few others are having the same issue. Some say it is an Nvida driver issue, but I am not sure. Regardless, the developer is silent on the matter is and no where to be found.
If any member of Steam reads this, this game should be de-listed or at the very least come with a warning.
Do not buy this game.
Seraph isn’t anything special. All-around, its presentation is pretty generic. The environments are visually plastered with dull office colors that mostly serve to allow the colored projectiles to stand out, except for the blood-red drapery in the last area. The demon designs aren’t very original, with appearances from familiar archetypes like the flesh spider, the flesh centaur, the pointy succubus, etc. The story is delivered in unvoiced back and forth dialogues that leave a lot to be desired in engagement and exposition.
That said, while the presentation is forgettable, the gameplay is solid enough. The jumping isn’t quite as fluid as I’d like, and the hitboxes are a bit strict, but the auto-aim, double jump, and phasing give you enough freedom that they aren’t a big issue. It can be a tough fight to make it to the next checkpoint, but you keep accumulating crafting materials and crystals to power yourself up, so you incrementally increase your experience, health, and damage buffs as you retry the harder stages. It was hard to distinguish the pickups, so it felt a little arbitrary, but it wasn’t really an obstacle.
The difficulty worked pretty well for me, though normal was still a bit of a challenge. I think the procedural generation screwed with me a bit. I like how after a room is generated that you can usually keep replaying until you make it through to a later checkpoint, but it can create some strange bottlenecks. The lockdown rooms, which trap you with enemies for 60 seconds or until you die, can be placed very inconveniently. There was a small one in Area 4 that had me stuck for hours, and then there was one I actually [i]couldn’t clear[/i] in stage 5-1, but for some reason the level got regenerated. I have no idea how that happened. Also, I’m not sure how the dynamic difficulty works. For some reason the dynamic difficulty didn’t go below 5 in the later stages of normal mode, even though I don’t think that’s how it’s supposed to work.
For the challenge alone, this is a decent bargain, and it has some interesting progression mechanics. If you’re intrigued, go right on ahead, but don’t be prepared to be dazzled or shaken.

Took me years to finally finish it, not because it's long or hard... it's because it's meh at best. The progression system sucks, it has rarities ranging from common to legendary, but when I finished the game I barely was able to unlock a few rares. It is meant to be grinded hard, but it's not remotely interesting to do so. Why would you ever wanna grind this is beyond me.
Ultimately is a big NO from me, I'm glad I can finally remove it from my installed games list.
Not once have I gotten it to work. It closes/crashes every time I try and play no matter what I do.

Cool concept, though some might dislike the idea of having aiming removed from the equation entirely (you always autoaim meaning movement is your only problem pretty much)
However the main issue here is the adaptive difficulty, doing well means you're gonna end up getting hit in the face by a difficulty wall (and it is a brutal one at that) but a a little big it'll be just right and if it's high enough the game will drastically increase drops to help you with progression, doing bad means you won't get drops but will stumble your way through much farther, so basically the game is a constant exercise in juggling between doing perfect and intentionally getting hit so that the game doesn't force impossible odds against you to stay in "the right spot" on the difficulty level (indicated helpfully at the bottom of the screen.
Beside that the game is spot on and despite the main big issue is still decently fun to play with.

Progression can feel maddeningly slow due to the veeery little incremental upgrades you get, I wish it was just a bit more generous with them. Also the walking animation with the standard guns drives me CRAZY, for a game all about being acrobatic and jumping around you would think one of the animations you will see the most would be better (I know, absurd nitpick, it's just been eating me inside for years). Anyway, pretty entertaining, looks nice, hope they make something else building on top of the premise.

Seraph is yet another of literally thousands of console ported 2D retro platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. It had a gimmick where you didn't need to aim where you shoot, but this really doesn't help an old, dead genre. On the upside, at least it wasn't yet another pixelcrap game. The devs actually hired an artist for this one. Shame they couldn't work out how to do 3D graphics. Or make their game work beyond 2021.
Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this only happened once, around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. They can't play it, because it's broken, so all the game activity here is just card idlers. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards.
Unethically, the developers have left this on the Steam store in an unplayable and broken state. This is harmful to Steam and to gamers, because it takes a share of the marketing space and visibility away from other games. It's polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuine games and for genuine indie developers who put months or years into making proper games find an audience.
The developer is deliberately and unethically trying to scam gamers into paying them the insane price of $13 USD for a game they know is broken. Don't give it to them.
One of the best action/shooting side scrollers for Deck out there. So fun and amazing performance! This needs more attention!

Muy buen juego de disparos 2D con mucho looteo. Se parece mucho a un roguelike, con niveles procedurales, pero no lo es realmente. Básicamente controlas a una mujer-angel con dos pistolas que va matando todo lo que se le cruza. La mecánica más inusual es que el personaje apunta automáticamente al enemigo para que te concentres solamente en la evasión y plataformeo. Con todo el loot que vas juntando se pueden ir adquiriendo mejoras de todo tipo.
La parte floja es el diseño de niveles, le falta mas variedad y se vuelve repetitivo como suele pasar con los procedurales. Y lo peor del juego es que desarrolla una larga y compleja historia para después concluir abruptamente sin ningún final.
Es muy divertido y rejugable para jugarlo de forma casual.

一款2D平台射击游戏。
基本要素还算齐全，多种武器、多种主动技能、角色升级、武器技能升级，加上在当年的独立游戏来说还不错的音画效果，粗一看有佳作潜力。
但是关卡设计仿佛复制粘贴，从教程关结束之后我打了六七关基本长得都差不多。
升级所需的材料简直惊人，仿佛需要肝日常的手游。
相比之下，在墙附近跳跃总是撞墙这种明显的操作设计问题只能算小毛病了。

I do not recommend this game at all. Limited dodges, a lot of finger cramping from consistent jumping which is the point of this game, the chest are not rewarding and do not provide healing. There is no dialog with voice acting for the story. The cool downs are way to long. It is to much of a grind which is also the point of this game. Killing the bosses/mini bosses is not rewarding enough and provide you health especially since there is no recovery. Just overall not a fun game to play. Definitely could be way better. Only two powers to have on hand really limits the game play. The guns do not swap when you run out of ammo. Can I get a refund?
Seraph is an absolutely underrated gem, especially due to its properly working adaptive difficulty mechanism, which manages to continuously and gradually increase the difficulty of the game while you "git gud". Now the impressive part is that I rarely had the feeling that the increase in difficulty was unfair, which is a point at which many "hard" games fail, especially those bragging about how "souls-like" they are. I really like the visual flair of the game and the powers and the enemies are designed greatly. Also, the dark atmospheric soundtrack is absolutely amazing.
If there is one thing that I have to criticize then it's the fact that the randomly generated levels often make little sense -- I have often been in levels where a powerful temporary power-up can only be collected after pretty much killing all enemies in that level, thus making the power-up completely useless...
Once you get the hang of the controls, you can really get into a state of "flow" and the fact you can focus entirely on your movements and dodging, while your character auto aims is refreshing. A fun game

Ну или генерация уровней была бы поинтересней то могло выйти хорошо. Прокачка унылая. ДЛС виде костюмов серьезно? Там и качество дерьмовое, лучше бы бесплатно дарили.
Like many have stated on their reviews. The game starts off amazing with great combat fluidity and character progression but after the first few levels it just gets repetitive and uninspiring.

- 맵 구성: 중후반부터 수직형 맵이 등장하는데 발판 사이의 간극이 커서 조작이 어렵다. 이건 개발자가 의도적으로 스테이지를 어렵게 만든 장치이지만 이건 어려움이 아니라 불편함에 더 가깝다.
- 무기: 탄약이 무한인 쌍권총과 탄약이 한정된 무기 총 2개만 가지고 다닐 수 있다. 문제는 쌍권총은 기본적으로 약하며 이외의 무기는 탄약 구하기가 어렵다는 점이다. 사실상 쌍권총이 강제되어 전투력이 약해진다.
--- 너무 긴 성장구간: 캐릭터 성장에 필요한 시간이 꽤 많이 드는 편인데 여기에 환생이라는 시스템이 더해져 필요한 시간이 기하급수적으로 늘어남. 환생 레벨마다 일정개수의 최고등급 샤드가 필요하고 환생 시 가지고 있던 모든 업그레이드 및 재료들이 초기화됨.
문제는 환생을 해도 능력치가 소폭 상승해서 필요성이 느껴지지 않음. 필수는 아니지만 과도하게 플레이타임을 늘리려하는 개발자의 의도가 느껴짐.
어려움과 불편함의 차이를 모르는 전형적인 못 만든 인디게임 중 하나. 차라리 스타일리시함을 더 강조했으면 좋았을 듯.

kein leichter Schwierigkeitsgrad. viele gleichwertige Waffen, zu viele verschiedene Aufwertungen, die nichts bringen. irgendwann zu schwer.
enemies are sponges..you will basically be stuck with default guns (pea shooters)..upgrades and such are laughable..and towards the end you will be stuck cause the game will set you costantly back..game is a joke, a bad one..too bad cause the mechanics are fun per se (plot is forgettable)

Pourquoi ?
Commençons par le début.
Jeu FR qui vous met dans la peau d'un séraphin ayant prit le corps d'un mortel pour quelque chose de pas joli-joli. Au fur et à mesure du jeu et de l'intrigue qui se déroule en lisant les bouquins dans chaque niveaux (il y a 19 bouquins au total) on découvre pourquoi notre seraphin est sur terre et pourquoi il s'est fait piéger par des humains.
Alors parlons du jeu en lui même après le bref résumé de l'histoire. Le gameplay nécessite absolument une manette, il est impossible d'y jouer sur le clavier ou alors il faut s'entraîner comme pas possible auparavant et ne pas craindre la tendinite. Là avec la manette c'est limite, je sens que demain je vais avoir les mains qui vont souffrir mais bon. La musique est sympa et colle assez à l'ambiance du jeu. Les sons par contre c'est une véritable chierie sonore, il suffit qu'il y ait 4-5 monstres à l'écran et c'est partit pour le mal de tête tellement tout se superpose dans une bouillie infâme.
Mais passons.
Le jeu est plutôt pas mal, il y a des composante rpg en plus d'un metroid vania. Le fait que l'on est pas besoin de viser est une bénédiction, ça saute tellement dans tout les sens que se serait affreux autrement.
De même, plus vous êtes bon, plus le niveau de difficulté augmente. Alors sur votre première partie, si c'est la toute première fois que vous jouez, vous allez en chier, car très rapidement le niveau de difficulté augmente et malheureusement les améliorations de vos armes et de vos pouvoirs traînent en longueur.
Perso il m'a fallut faire 3/4 du jeu pour simplement mettre 4 skill passif au niveau max. 4 sur les je sais pas combien qu'il y en a. Et c'étaient seulement 4 skills orientés sur les flingues.
Parce que bon, faut pas se mentir, les sorts ne servent à rien ou presque. Les cooldown sont bien trop long et ça ne fait pas assez de dégâts. Encore, si on pouvait les spammer au taquet ... bon ... je dis pas. Mais non, impossible. Sachant qu'on ne peux embarquer que 2 sorts en même temps. Qu'il y a un type d'ennemi dans le jeu qui ressemble à un naga qui vole et qui crache des boules de poison qui oneshot ou presque, il vous faudra donc prendre obligatoirement le sort bouclier pour pouvoir repousser les saloperies de boules vertes qui se planquent derrière les mobs qui viennent de tout les cotés. Donc il ne vous restera plus qu'un seul sort ... et ils sont tous tellement naze que bon ...
Résultat j'ai focus les armes. J'ai avancé dans le jeu. J'ai lu les bouquins et suivit l'intrigue. J'ai bien aimé.
Là on pourrait ce demander pourquoi alors je ne recommande pas le jeu ?
Environ 5h pour finir le jeu de bout en bout, avec 22 niveaux de mémoire.
A la fin du jeu il y a un choix cornélien. Etre gentil ou méchant.
Et ... quand vous choisissez d'être l'un ou l'autre, après avoir buté le dernier boss ... RIEN !

Non parce que là ... après 5h à toucher de manière intime votre manette dans tout les sens et risquer la tendinite, avoir buter le boss de fin, pas de cinématiques, que dalle. Est-ce que ça pourrait me donner envie de refaire une partie ... ?

Je vous déconseille fortement de dépenser de l'argent sur ce jeu qui ne gratifie même pas le joueur pour tout l'acharnement qu'il a eut pour finir le jeu !
Fun twin-stick shooter without the twin-sticks. Platforms, gribbly daemons, Roguelike unlockables, and many bullets.
Not sure why I bought it back in the day, something about the visuals was compelling to me. And it was the style of it that made me play it to the end (though, I bought it about 4 years ago and played it just now).
Generally it's a fun and challenging action platformer. Dynamic difficulty really helps to always get challenging situations, increasing power level bit by bit. Combat feels fluid, like a nice and balanced dance with the great pace.
One thing I didn't really notice is the procedural generation. It felt like the locations didn't really change from one time to another.
Two lacking sides of the game: story (it's better to imagine there is no story at all, let's put it this way) and repetitiveness, the latter being the bigger one. The game with a huge emphasis on replayability gets exponentially more boring the more you play it. Every monster looks generic, every location looks the same. Challenge is keeping up with you as you get better with the game, but it feels synthetic, it's just not real. And the main playthrough lasts like 4 hours.
It's already 6 years old as I'm writing this, so it's probably not a big deal for anybody. But if you're looking for a nice game to kill a couple of hours while getting some action and challenge - this one is fine. It would work great as a portable game (on a Steam Deck, for example).
I'm not sure it's worth its price, but if you'll get it 50% cheaper, it's decent.

Embora promissor, Seraph acabou sendo meio que decepcionante.
O jogo realmente possui uma boa quantidade de ação, movimentos rápido, balas e tudo mais, trazendo uma boa dose de adrenalina. Entretanto, tudo acaba sendo em vão por vários defeitos diferentes. Seguem os pontos positivos (+) e negativos (-):
+ Bastante ação;
+ Exige muita habilidade;
+ Sistema de upgrade;
+ Sistema de missões diárias e semanais para ficar mais forte;
+- Música de fundo e efeitos sonoros sem grandes peculiaridades;
- Essa mulher gruda na parede com muita facilidade, e quando vc tenta se soltar ela se joga pra outra parede;
- Bastante grind;
- Depende de sorte, pois tem fases que são feitas para te matar obrigatoriamente;
- História superficial;
- Tem apenas 2 boss;
- O final é brochante;
- Sistema de reset do personagem para pegar uns buffs quase insignificantes;
- Pouca variedade de fases;
- Pq prenderam ela descalça?
- O jogo é feito pra você morrer e resetar, mas ele nunca te diz isso.
- Altamente estressante
Em outras palavras, o jogo te obriga a grindar várias e várias playthroughs até o meio do caminho para poder resetar algumas vezes e ter chance de dar final, tendo que suportar os pulos quebrados e as fases com pedaços que TE MATAM obrigatoriamente.
NÃO RECOMENDO, a menos que você for masoquista.
I bought this game, because I loved the idea of a barefoot angel-possessed woman gunning down hordes of demons. Can a game get much better than that? Well, after having played through it all, it turns out it can.
- For starters, if you die, it would be nice to start again from the level you were ACTUALLY ON, and not the previous level. Sure, you can collect a checkpoint gem that'll let you resume from that level if you die, but by the time you do so, you'll likely have already cleared most of the enemies in the level. And honestly... why have that? Why not just let the player restart from that level? The game is already challenging enough, without having that kind of punishment.
- I also don't mind only being able to carry two weapons, but the default pistols shouldn't have to be one of them. Not when there are other kinds of handguns to carry. I would've been pleased to find the revolvers, if I could switch out the default pistols for them. Why can't I? I wouldn't have even minded if ammo for them was limited, provided I could find some on every level.
- Those coins/rings/whatever that add to your defenses are nice, but why can't I keep them between levels?
- But worst of all, is what happens when you finally beat the final boss. Not only is he a HUGE pain in the rear end to beat, but when you finally do, you're given a choice of whether to destroy him or join him. And what do you see, after making that choice? Nothing! That's right. You just press a button and it immediately cuts to credits. No image, no wall of text, nothing. What the HELL, devs?! What happens?! Does Seraph leave Talia's body and ascend to Heaven? Does she go on to annihilate the demon army/the human race? Do demons take over the world? Does God try to intervene at all? Explain, damn it! EXPLAIN!
To think I actually bought THIS game, despite it being the only one on my wish list that WASN'T on sale!
Let me start this review off by saying that Seraph is most definitely NOT a Metroidvania. Don't believe what the tags say, and do not go in expecting that kind of experience. It's not. It's basically just an actiony battle arena platformer with soft roguelite elements. There is no backtracking, no true exploration, and no progression beyond getting more damaging skills or weapons as the game's level scale increases.
Stages are, frustratingly, extremely similar in both look and design. There's not a lot of variation, and it all ends up feeling extremely samey. I assume this is because the areas are randomly generated (they at least come off feeling that way), but the lack of diversity between tilesets doesn't lend itself well to the game's aesthetic.
Gameplay wise, the formula's pretty basic. You go to an area, clean it of enemies, and move to the next area. You can upgrade your abilities, modify your weapons, and change up your equipment loadout. Ultimately, though, the core gameplay remains the same. There's just too much repetition and stagnation, and not enough diversity or growth. All areas feel the same, and it becomes frustratingly stagnant early on.
I tried to give this game a fair chance, but it just wasn't for me. If you enjoy repetitive, mindless action, this one might be for you, but as someone who played this going in expecting a Metroidvania-like experience, or at the very least, some form of structured progression, I found myself pretty disappointed.
If the game was shorter, and progression was quicker, I might have given this a more positive take, but the pacing is just... not good.

Сподобалася ідея з денними/тижневими випробуваннями з іншими гравцями, за які даються бонуси для прокачування персонажа, але й тут умови для змагання несправедливі, тому що у суперників може бути різний рівень на момент старту забігу, та відповідно і перевага( Візуальна складова приємна. Для того, щоб вибити всі досягнення довелося витратити величезну кількість часу через нескінченний одноманітний гринд, інакше дуже складно виконати найскладніші ачивки.
На жаль, але я не можу рекомендувати цю гру всім, тільки для затятих любителів даного жанру.

Графически и аудио все отлично, картинка и музыка порадовали.
Сюжет есть и он интересный, но чтобы его узнать полностью надо пройти игру несколько раз, чтобы собрать все журналы. (В Руководствах выложены все журналы, чтобы не приходилось гриндить их)
Управление простое, прокачка героини тоже не вызывает проблем.
Сама игра вначале достаточно простая, но потом становится тяжко.
Один раз проходится примерно за 7-8 часов.

[h1]I hate this game for what it could have been[/h1]
[h2]The Good[/h2]
[b]Seraph[/b] is an acrobatic skill based platformer with the coolest adaptive difficulty I've ever seen. When you collect drops called 'motes' from enemies, you gain experience and difficulty. Your difficulty is essentially your score, and the better you play the harder it gets. You have a multiplier up to 6, and every time you get hit you lose half your multiplier. If you're going for perfect play, you wince every single hit you take as you watch your multiplier plummet to zero. While you have it up though, the difficulty skyrockets rapidly.
You have your main pistols that you'll use for most things, and your alternate weapons you'll want to switch to for the big enemies. Alternate weapons have ammo, pistols are unlimited, so you can fire to your heart's content. You don't have to aim, which sounds weird but plays [i]super[/i] well. The focus is on acrobatics, and when you're invincibility framing through attack after attack with a double air dash while trashing foes you feel awesome. Your abilities called Miracles contribute to this, giving you extra firepower and mobility in your toolkit.
And you are mobile, with wall jumps, multi-directional air and ground dashes with invincibility frames on a short cooldown (which you can upgrade to be shorter) makes it so getting hit is mostly your fault. Movement feels good and it lends itself well to a core gameplay loop that's just incredibly fun.
There's also daily challenges, so you can compete against other players in short scenarios. They can be pretty difficult, and getting a high score in those can yield great rewards.
Many of your character's stats are upgradable with the assistance of shards that drop from enemies. You can do things from improve your blink, increase your damage, make enemies drop health, and so on. It can be a bit of a grind upgrading your character, but it's worth it for the stats. You also gain experience from motes in campaign and survival, and level ups grant new abilities like damage over time, heal from smiting enemies, damage after blink, and so on. The game is basically a closet roguelike, as you start at level one with each new run in survival but your shards remain.
[h2]The Bad[/h2]
[b]Although[/b] the game itself is really quite fun, it's not without it's flaws. Levels are all pretty much the same, and although the background and tileset change as you progress it's not very dramatic of a shift. Later levels look and play very much like the start of the game. The color palette is muted, and enemies are all similar shades of grey. In chaotic situations, they can often blend into the background.
Because enemies don't stand out much, it can be hard to see what choreography there is for attacks. The bigger guys that shoot fire aren't too bad, but the enemies that turn off all your abilities wind up looking pretty similar to the ones who teleport. I don't need to list many enemy types, because even at higher difficulties there aren't many.
There aren't many level types either. You need to kill a miniboss or a couple of structures that spawn enemies and get to the exit, that's both of them. The backgrounds change, but that's all you do the whole game other than the main bosses. Levels are randomly generated, but the chunks aren't always the best designed; sometimes there's long corridors of nothing but a couple of motes that look like they would connect to another room in a different setup.
There's technically a story to the game, but it thankfully gives you the ability to turn it off. Don't bother with it, it's atrocious.
[h2]The Conclusion[/h2]
[b]I[/b] recommend the game hesitantly. I honestly think it's a lot of fun, and I've clearly spent a fair number of hours on it. I think despite it's flaws it's worth picking up. The flaws are many though, and they can be hard to overlook at times. If you can, there's a real experience here. I really hope for a sequel one day that can iron out some of the flaws, because then you'd have an absolute gem.

Chapeau à la petite équipe du studio qui a fait ce jeu, malgré qu'il soit très compliqué d'avancer sans bien l'appréhender, mais il n'est pas infaisable.
Mention spéciale à la direction artistique digne d'un jeu indépendant bien amené et dans le thème de l'univers du jeu.
Great platformer with adaptive difficulty system – the better you do the faster it ramps up. Easy and fun to play since you don’t need to aim, so your focus solely on movement which is pretty open here as you can dash in every direction twice with double jumps adding to that and in combination with some skills and upgrades you can keep yourself in constant movement.
However, there are some flaws of the gameplay that you’ll encounter at higher difficulties because of which you will find yourself enjoying the game the most at mid difficulty.
One of the most questionable is “Reflective Flesh”. This ability allows enemy to reflect damage towards you. It has little to no vfx clarity and almost instant cast time what makes it insanely hard to react to. Even if it would have great vfx clarity with huge cast time I think overall that this ability shouldn’t exist in first place, because it does feels like artificial to the gameplay where all other abilities force you to utilize environment with constant movement while keep fighting back. Meanwhile the “Reflective Flesh” forces you to do nothing, because there is auto-aim in-game and you don’t want to risk your luck in that regard.
There is a way to lock on a target, but in a heat of fight you most likely won’t do it since you have already enough stuff to track on.
Second issue is that always annoyed me on higher difficulty – lack of post-invulnerability after “Smite” ability. You see, you must use “Smite” on Elites in order to kill them once their hp reached 0 or otherwise they’ll respawn. You have invulnerability while casting “Smite”, but not afterwards, so even if you spam dash you will most likely get hit and lose your difficulty scale stacks. Keep in mind that some of Elites will constantly spawn enemies or you’ll be in area with constant enemy spawning so you kinda forced to accept chance of getting hit in order to destroy an Elite.
There are little bit of other flaws, like decision regarding “Shotguns” and “Revolvers” that you must press attack for every shot, our of screen attacks or too much verticality in level design, but they are more like "from time to time noticable".
Overall, the game feels great – very fluid and fun, fast-paced with bunch of skills and equipment progression to customize your runs. Daily challenges and survival mode that provides stimulation for revisiting the game. Yes, couple of flaws, but you'll get over them.

The first few hours of this game are amazing. The combat is fluid and fast-paced, and the titular Seraph is incredibly mobile. Seraph auto-aims, so the focus is on using your mobility tools to dodge attacks and get close enough to finish off downed enemies. Double-jumping and blinking all over the map feels frantic and fun.
However, as the game goes on, it quickly starts to feel repetitive and grindy. There are only a few different mission types, and they're repeated over and over without any real variation. The levels are randomly generated, but they all look so similar that you feel like you've played them already. Enemies turn into bullet sponges, and the various upgrades you get as you level up are so insignificant that they feel almost pointless. (e.g. "Pistols do 1% more damage" or "You start with 5 more health.") As a result, in an inversion of typical video game progression, Seraph feels less and less powerful as you proceed through the game.
By the time you hit the first boss fight, taking a hit from any enemy will knock off at least a quarter of your HP, if not way more. In a better platformer, this would reward your skill at evading split-second attacks and being smart with your mobility. But Seraph has an annoying tendency to stick to walls and get stuck on parts of the environment that are difficult to see, so you'll often find yourself taking hits that you were sure you were going to dodge. This frustration is compounded by inconsistent hitboxes and the sheer amount of bullet spam the game starts throwing at you, along with many homing and AOE attacks that feel nigh-impossible to evade. Unfortunately, controlling Seraph just doesn't feel precise enough for the kind of game it's trying to be.
If you can get the game on sale, it's fun for the first couple hours. But after that, it really doesn't feel like it offers anything new. That said, I'm glad I gave it a try.

The gameplay is pretty fast and simple. Because you technically can't ever lose a level, or at least I never experienced that, you can basically just blow through most of the content pretty quickly. It took me about an hour to clear about ten levels, since you just follow the location markers and can skip basically most enemies (or kill them if you hold down K). And normally this would make for a short enjoyable game except there's nothing fun about the story. The MC is unlikable, the Guide makes you feel like more of a jerk and the only character reunion I would have enjoyed ended with the death of one of the characters before it could ever get close to that rewarding point. It makes the story a slag fest to slog through with no hope of an actually enjoyable experience as you are, as previously stated, playing as a huge jerk with zero redeeming qualities.
So far so good, i will update this.
It is fun
Seraph is a short game focusing on mobility and skill usage. Here’s the quick lore rundown so if you don’t like spoilers, just look at my thumbs down rating and call it at that. I’ll also note that I can’t guarantee that this is 100% the “true lore” since there are logs I never read but I’m not replaying the game just to get those so come at me bro.
Seraph is a being who is borrowing the body of a woman named Talia. The borrow period was intended to be 48 hours but let’s just say someone overstayed their welcome. The goal was to assassinate some person we’re told is evil. Unfortunately, Talia ruined the plan, alerting a group called “The Faith” who captured Seraph and Talia and imprisoned them on a ship that is meant to never be seen by most of the world. They do this with the intent to research Seraph and it seems some of their research bore fruit since they got some kind of medicinal stuff from it. This boat sails for three years and then… we don’t know what happens next. Seraph allegedly calls in some Daemons and they slaughter the guards permitting Seraph to escape.
Seraph began this mission without permission from God so she’s told that He’s abandoned it. Seraph is tempted by Guide (who is later discovered to be the game’s equivalent to Satan) to abandon God fully and join Satan in ruling the Earth. Whether you join Satan or not is up to you.
Clearly there’s meant to be a lot of religious references here. Seraph is never going home, so everything it does is meaningless if it plans to return to Heaven. Satan offers an alternative where if you’re stuck on Earth no matter what, does it really matter what you do? Do you strike your conscience if there’s no reward to be found at the end of the tunnel?
That’s probably the best case I can make for the “Question” of the game’s story. However there’s really not a whole lot in the game that reinforces this question and these themes. The game is surprisingly short, having only 2 boss battles. The story dumps for Seraph happen only at the beginning and end of each level. And there were what, 20-25 levels? Something like that.
The game is a run and gun platformer with crystals you can use to enhance your abilities. You have a dash that provides iframes, you have miracles you can use to help clear enemies. For each stage, you need to beat a minor boss and move to the next stage. Sometimes you have to like a wave defense sorta thing instead but it’s the same, only in this case the boss is the portal-ish crystal. There’s a difficulty scaling which I never figured out how it increased but I’m sure it’s important for something. Aiming is done automatically (thank God) so all you need to do is focus on your positioning.
I do not like the movement in this game. Jumps were clunky and there were many times where I did not get my second jump when I felt like I should. I suspect it’s timer based not touch-floor based. The blink is also clunky to me. Controlling your jumps, blinks, and midair movement is just so clunky that I pretty much always felt like I was fighting the controls to get my character where I wanted them.
Map design isn’t the best either. The clunky movement could be a bit more forgivable if the levels were a bit more open so you have a bit more leeway on the clunkiness but many of the levels have various barriers around you. You can shoot through floors and thank Christ you can or the game could’ve been a lot more annoying. One of the worst things for me is how from a design view holes and platforms aren’t readily apparent. Sure, since the holes in the floor or ceiling are consistent per stage it won’t take much time to figure it out but I think floors and holes should not disappear into the background the way they do in this game.
I said earlier that it’s a run and gun and that’s really all it is. Your pistols have infinite ammo, you fire them when you see enemies and you hold that fire button down until all enemies are gone. See a boss? Switch to your secondary weapon (SMG for me) and you blink through their attacks or you use your repel skill if you still have it equipped. Minor bosses can be really trivial and many of them are depending on the room you wind up fighting them in. It was as simple as reading the attack and blinking backwards and forwards through them. Even the final boss took me a mere 4-5 tries and I’m not going to say that I was any good. Was still using low level gear.
Some other minor notes: It seems that the game was designed to be replayed as after you beat the boss you can NG+. Though after making my choice I didn’t see any kind of indication that it mattered. No immediate cutscene, no post-credits cutscene. Did any of this make a difference? Maybe I gotta find all the lore bits for that but that involves playing through the some 20-25 levels at least once more completely and then a little more if the achievement for 50 means “all of them”. There’s also Twitch integration stuff which I was unable to test because that sorta thing requires an existing audience to put in commands. Also I refuse to use Twitch.
Unfortunately if your game is going to be a run and gun you need the running and gunning to be satisfying and I’m sorry to say that level design and controls make this a no for me. The story simply falls flat, there’s nothing that makes the characters stand out. It’s a little too bland for me. We give it the thumbs down.

An underrated side-scroller that more people need to pickup. The music in Seraph is fantastic and it happens great. The story, while not award winning, is very interesting. More than interesting enough to pay attention to.
The real winner is how the game mixes a bit of old school twin stick action along with a Metroidvania style. Grab this game if you're a fan of action platformers, you won't be disappointed!

like a lot of things about this game, but something about the level design confuses my eye- often end up unexpectedly falling through what I thought was solid or getting hung up somewhere I didn't register as a barrier. Tried to get used to it for an hour before giving up
What is really interesting, fresh and an ultimately pleasant gaming experience in the beginning, very quickly devolves into repetitive janky nonsense.
There are a lot of very odd behaviors and dubious design decisions involving stacking enemies that regenerate/revive after a kill, which also prevent you from using the only ability that can permanently kill them (Smite). The field restricting your moveset stays after they have been downed for the "finisher" making it even more infuriating to play against.
One level towards the end locked me in at the very start in a tiny room for a minute while demons were stacking at a door and once the time was over, murdered me in one attack.
Seraph has a propensity to stick to walls like glue and bounce off them at odd angles, making controlling her acrobatics in close quarters a complete nightmare.
Generally the longer I played the less fun the game became and the less i appreciated what it was trying to do.
All the levels feel the same, there is very little variety and very little incentive to explore beyond just getting XP and materials.
Ultimately its about a 6 hour game that feels like a 30 hour game for some reason.
Shame, i did like it at the beginning when the encounters were fewer, more meaningful with less added ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Far too repetitive and uninspired. There are some good things about the gameplay, but it was kinda boring for me, just moving through the samey corridors while holding down the trigger and trying to dodge the multitude of demons coming for you (in higher difficulties). The levels are randomly generated, and there are several "themes" or areas, but they all feel the same.
It doesn't feel like a bullet hell, because you can't really have precision with the controls offered (plus there are a lot of homing and AOE attacks), nor timing based, because if you dodge one projectile another will hit you. To win in higher difficulties you have to be more careful, kiting the enemies into already cleared locations while they soak up bullets, but that is boring.
There are upgrades, but they are of the +2% type. You can get +10% in some attributes, such as damage, but usually only if you grind a lot. There is a plot, but no ending.
Overall it's not a bad game, but I can't really recommend it.

Non è che sia brutto però caspiterina l'ho finito solo perché avevo promesso di farlo. Il problema non è che non è divertente, il problema è che il gioco è molto confuso. L'interfaccia grafica dei potenziamenti è pessima, la storia non ha senso e soprattutto i livelli hanno una grafica così poco chiara che a volte confondevo un muro con un passaggio e non sapevo mai se la parete poteva essere attraversata dai proiettili o meno. Seraph is a 2D grinding platformer shooter game. Gameplay is simple: you spawn, you shoot your way out despite demons in a random world, either bosses, mini-bosses or spawn pylons, while trying to manage the kind-of fast paced action, use some acquired shards, money and materials to upgrade some perks and equipment, rinse and repeat.
It features really simple but good and clean graphics and the music is awesome, usually following the action well. Controls are intuitive (playing on a gamepad that is): move, dodge (up to 2 times in a row), shoot, skill 1, 2 and 3, "action key" (which is used for weapons switching, chest and locker opening).
Procedural generation of level is okay, some weird things happening here and there, but it does the job, offering you some changes while playing. Story is there, but you'll quickly learn to tick the "skip dialogues" option.
The amount of action is promising: each room you enter can have demons (out of 5 different types) that you'll have to shoot to collect loot from (XP, money, materials, shards). Sometimes, some rooms lock up for an emergency state, where demons will spawn continuously to try to kill you for a minute. If you die, you respawn at the beginning of the level, with your max health reduced by a third (for this level only). The game maintains a dynamic difficulty which is only increasing. So you start your first game, Difficulty 1, and it ramps up, increasing the difficulty of enemies, allowing mini-bosses to have more skills, etc.
So far so good, been enjoying the session.
But then the grinding part comes in play: each monster will give you only a small portion of what you need (understand: 5/6 stuff out the thousand you need to craft). They sometimes give you shards which you can combine to put in perks to have a ridiculously small bonus, the better the shard (combining at a rate of 3 to 1 for level up), the bigger the bonus... but is it? Well, not really, you usually end up with a +1 heal on healing motes per level... knowing that at one point (difficulty 5/6), monsters will basically 3-shot you. But hey, you found a healing mote that can heal you for not even 1/20 of your health, yay!
Also, you usually end up falling in a pit just to end up facing 5 monsters that will jump your bones without you being able to do anything, instant respawn. Spawning of monsters doesn't seem to be regulated: you can get 1 every 10 seconds as you can get 5 bosses in 5 seconds during an alert, regardless of the type (try to battle 3 Void bosses that prevents you from smiting, yay).
Behaviour of the game is uncertain at best: killed monsters do not always result in same thing, some have their projectiles and effects removed, some do not, hitboxes (yours, demons' and their projectiles) are uncertain, often leading you to a case of "I dodged! Wait what?", one third of your health gone. Did I mention demons that can protect others with an invincibility shield? Imagine three of those in the same room.
Weapons feel weak at best: apart from Revolvers and sometimes Railgun, all others will take half of your ammos to allow you to kill a boss, monsters after a certain difficulty take forever to kill as the difficulty is not compensated by weapons upgrades or skills increases. Perks are meh at best, offering you a tiny bonus despite being on max level.
Dying does not remove upgrades or loot, so you'll end up grinding up to the boss, just to realise that you cannot kill the thing, so you'll go back to the beginning and start the grind again.
You'll grind XP, which gives you level perks, but yet again, you only take the level 1 because their upgrades are insignificant. To give you an example: +10% damage after a dodge (blink), improvements just give you +1% damage more. Oh, and you'll only be able to level up one out of 4 random.
Then you discover the revive! Oh blessing upon this ear... oh wait, it's just +3% per revive level of damage. Forget what I said. It kind of gives you a faster way of spawning perks shards though (+20%) but it barely compensates for the difficulty again.
What started as a good experience just ends up in a grinding and try-hard experience which is beginning to leave a sour taste in your mouth.
I really want to love this game, but the randomness and the grinding make it hard to persevere. I'll do it just to maybe one day to be able to kill the final boss. Also, a lot of accessibility and simple features are not present which could help the game: configurable perk scrolling speed, a map (give us a map, please!), a radar to avoid those random 5-in-your-face-you-cannot-do-♥♥♥♥ encounters or the possibility to look away, reliable monster behaviour, actual healing orbs (not those cheap stuff barely healing you, even with the perk, I get you might not want people to heal too much, but this is barely insulting), giving importance to improving stuff (levels, oaths, skills, weapons), level up respec because you quickly learn that some perks are just straight up useless (looking at you chill), allow us to chose which level skill to level up among all of them, slight difficulty reduction if you die too much.
This is more of a "meh" recommendation I wanted to give, but there's no possibility, so frustration gives into the "no".

■気になる点
・同じようなロケーションが続くので飽きやすい
A good concept for a twin-stick shooter marred by a few major deal-breakers. First off, it has the "Dynamic difficulty scaling" that sounds great on paper but in practice is entirely broken in its difficulty curve. Even when I'm taking it too easy it scales at a higher level way too quickly, and there's no way for the game's difficulty to curve back down which defeats the purpose of the "dynamic" part of its feature!
We also have an unnecessarily confusing and grindy upgrading system. For example, I love the idea of upgrading my max health and have better healing per orb, but before getting that why am I required to upgrade other stats with so few shards that are dropped in-game? Also, Life Seeker and Soul Stealer makes the game bearable, but that robs you from getting the needed attack upgrades to progress through the acrobatic chaos. This again defeats the purpose of getting the upgrades you seriously need, and the long-term upgrades are paltry at times! And what's the point of unlocking a spell that allows you to plunge down to where you can't see a thing when upgrading your existing spells is the better option?
Speaking of which, we go to another deal-breaker: The camera! You only have a fixed view that desperately needs to be zoomed out, as you can barely see more of what's ahead of and behind you. In a game that ramps up the difficulty level too fast, you will have enemies appear in front of you or in vertical "blind spots" from out of nowhere, where you would have much better reaction time if you were given any choice to zoom out and see ahead of you! And why can't this game allow you to see more of what's above and below you, both of which within half the distance of your horizontal view? Super Mario World can do that, yet this game doesn't have that! You can't even plan how to approach those areas unless you like winging it, which is risky.
Overall, go for a better twin-stick shooter than this unbearable ordeal. DX

[b]Seraph[/b] is a shoot em' up platformer with procedurally generated levels. You play as an angel, who's been trapped in a human body and locked away in the cell. However the demon invasion begins and the protagonist awakens free from its cell. The story is given via dialogue on the radio between levels. The goal of each level is killing a couple of powerful demons and escaping to the next level. Your default weapon is dual pistols, but you can pick up a couple of other weapons on the level, however they have a very limited supply of ammo. You can also upgrade them between levels. You also have a couple of active abilities, like shooting a ball of light or pushing all enemies away from you.

I liked the gameplay at first, but got bored of it in a couple of hours and couldn't play anymore. Don't buy it, unless you're into this type of gameplay and don't mind the lack of variety.
Fun game, shooty-shooty-bang-bang side-scroller. Very twitchy, lots of fun. AI can be a little bit stupid at times but that's okay. Devs did a good job of balancing things and making it fun, but I will say that machine pistols are just godly and don't bother with any other secondary weapons. Overall, good fun game, would recommend.
Delayed control, very frustrating.
This game is an incredibly fun action rogue like with a persistent story mode, and checkpoints which allow you to save your progress to some degree, with a large emphasis on skill, as well as dodging, this game is definitely worth trying out!

Y en el episodio de hoy de Manqueando... "Que seraph, seraph"
Si hay juegos que merecen el Goty, este sin duda merece el Coty. ¿Que es un Coty? Muy sencillo: Chasco of the year. Mecagüen... vaya cara se me ha quedado al terminar. Que nadie se engañe, esas 11 horas son porque cuando llevaba 6, reinicié juego, y 2 horas más tarde, reinicié el guardado para empezar de 0. 3 horas y tira que te matas. Y por que el boss final se me atragantó al principio.
Pero rebobinemos un poco. ¿De que va esto? Pues es un shooter lateral de saltos y monerias varias. Nos encontraremos en un nivel más o menos "laberíntico" en el que deberemos acabar con el guardián que mantiene sellada la salida al siguiente nivel (no es un boss, más bien un miniboss), o a todo lo más, habrá niveles en los que deberemos destruir los cristales que hacen de portal para los enemigos.
Y ya está. No hay más objetivos diferentes. Nos abriremos paso hacia la salida a tiros, y entre niveles, podremos mejorar algunas cosas, o asignar runas que nos darán ciertas ventajas. Muy sencillo.
Y todo esto podria ser bueno, y de hecho lo es. El control es más que decente, la historia se ve venir a kms, pero no está mal, técnicamente luce bien y no me he encontrado fallos... vamos, que muy bien.
Cuando llevas unos 10 niveles más o menos, te topas con el primer boss, que si bien no es más que regulero, parece que marca el pase de "mundo". Una vez superado dicho boss, tenemos otros aprx 10 niveles más con un aspecto algo diferente. Superados esos 10 niveles, tenemos otro boss, este un poco más currado, pero no para tirar cohetes tambien.
Superamos ese boss, y nos dan la opción "unete/mátalo". Y Fin. Creditos. Yastá. Reinicia partida y podrás usar las runas que tenias, pero perderás el resto de buffs (los de subir nivel). Me tomas el pelo, ¿verdad? Ni siquiera hay una conclusión a la historia. Y ni el que sea un rogue es excusa (si es que lo es, que no lo tengo claro). Rogue Legacy, Lost Castle... tenian un final, aunque fuese cortito. Aqui no hay nada, ni siquiera un triste "congratulations you have passed the Black Tiger". Creditos y a correr. Wow.
Es cierto que la jugabilidad es buena (aunque puede hacerse cansina), y que el juego es entretenido, pero claro se acaba de repente y no dura un pijo. Tambien es cierto que podria recomendarlo, por que no es una mi*rda. Pero no lo puedo recomendar.
No le veo aliciente como para darle 20 vueltas si es que eso es lo que alarga la historia, y no tiene una historia ni original ni terminada como para mantener mi interés. Y para dar tiros sin más, hay más y mejores alternativas. Que lástima.
En fin, le voy a cascar un 6, pero como digo... No lo recomiendo, salvo que te de igual lo expuesto, claro.
Y en el próximo episodio de Manqueando... pffff... yo que sé, para cuando me decidí por este, ya se me habia acabado.

There is so much good here that it really pains me to give the Thumb's Down. But because ultimately I don't recommend this game, I will largely list negatives, even though I though there were certain things the game did well.
First off, graphics. I am not the kind of player that is woo'ed by fancy graphics. What I look for are graphics that are correctly layered, aesthetically pleasing, and where graphical elements are grouped into logical and distinct color palettes (groups).
One could argue that the art style is a personal choice, but I find most of the art for the character, foes, foreground and background to be perfunctory. There is very little texture, dimension or life on anything. "Flat" would be how I describe everything in the environment.
The layering is very good for the the different sprites (foreground, player, enemies, projectiles, etc), but the graphics don't work in terms of being pleasing or logically colored. Everything kind of comes from the same dingy "grey" color scheme and it all blends together in a smear of grime.
The way things are colored don't do anything to assist the player in seeing what to attack, where to go, or what to pick up. You can't really distinguish the foreground from the background, and in combat and exploration you'll find yourself constantly bonking into doorways you didn't see, walking into walls you can't distinguish, and trying to fall through gaps in the floor that aren't actually there.
One particularly conspicuous example of bad color-choices are the XP "motes" which have been placed around by design or scatter from enemy drops... they all have the same color and have the same color palate of stationary environmental lights, so you are always visually confused what's a lightbulb and what's an XP mote. But you have to collect the motes so you end up doing a lot of needless jumping around at lightbulbs.
There is little visual fidelity in the monster graphics; They are all white/grey/beige assembly of blobs with no real texture. They all look like they're made out of inflatable grey balls glued together. There are so many needless coronas on things yet nothing has any color, vibrancy or life, so you feel like you're playing wearing sunglasses for darkness and patroleum-jelly rubbed in your eyes for blur.
All of the above graphical complaints boil down to a feeling of visual monotony, and more than that, irritation. Because the design of the graphics and the color choices work SO HARD AGAINST the player. It gets very frustrating after a very short while... even after 2 hours of playing I hadn't really seen a new graphical element or something exciting at all.
I played for about 2 hours before putting down this review, but the fundamental game didn't feel any different at any point. The procedural level generation should be a good thing, but the maps are far too expansive and boring to make it feel exciting or tight. This is often the trade-off for procedural generation: you get long games with lots of levels, but a very flat experience in the levels since there are no puzzles, monsters, secrets or special level arrangements made by hand, the way a masterpiece like SMB3 would have. There wasn't a good enough variety of enemy types to make me feel like it was worth continuing.
I liked the different rings, weapons and miracles you can use, but they don't feel particularly game-changing. A lot of time it's just better to hold the trigger on your pop-gun and not risk getting hit.
I liked the idea of being able to harvest demon parts for upgrades, but the upgrades were boring and the menus are really confusing. The special "oaths" that you can use have pitiful benefits and didn't change the play experience much.
In the first 20 minutes I thought this game was going in great places, but after that I realized it's going nowhere.
2.2 hours of playtime before this review. Anything past that is now me card idling.

Core gameplay is fun, but leveling up your equipment/abilities is so slow. Only playing the campaign, I just couldn't get past the 2nd boss and had no way to turn down the difficulty. Quite frustrating.

超難易度激マゾストレスゲームで全くオススメできません。日本語はありません。
セールで１３０円で買いましたがかなり後悔しました。ひとまずラスボスは意地で倒しました。
コントローラー必須です、左薬指以外は全て酷使するので右手が壊れます。
色々な部分で噛み合っておらず、実の所はもう少しで良いゲームにもなると思うのですが
開発期間が足りなかったのか調整に飽きたのか、何故か全体的に投げっぱなしのままになっています。
まず第一に当たり判定が大きすぎます。
春麗の見た目でありながらザンギエフ並みの当たり判定です。
敵の弾は波動拳に見えますがサイコクラッシャー並みに当たります。
一般的な弾よけアクションなら頭の上をかすめる様な弾道でもバコバコ当たります。
これが災いして画面が狭すぎて避けられない＆無駄に壁に張り付いて死にます。
壁に張り付いて三角跳び出来るという要素は他のゲームにもありますが、大抵はそれなりの空間の中で飛び回るわけですが当たり判定が大きく通路が狭い為、操作の邪魔にしかなりません。
避けたいのに壁に張り付いてしまいガスガス弾を食らって死にます。
これはマップの設計にも問題があるのですが、とにかくキャラに対して通路が狭すぎます。
キャラを６０％ぐらいにして丁度なのではないでしょうか。
この狭い通路に巨大な敵と巨大な敵の弾がひしめいて避けるなんてとても出来ません。
そしてマップの色合いも悪く、背景が黒で壁も黒なので、どこが通路でどこが壁なのかとても分かりにくくステージが進んでも殆ど景色が変わらない為、かなり退屈なゲーム進行になります。
敵のＡＩはよくある同人系の追従して攻撃するだけの物で、良作のお約束である攻撃テーブルの変化と難易度によるスケーリングはありません。
このゲームの難易度は高くなるほど外道攻撃＆スポンジ体力の敵が大量に沸いて弾を連射する事であって、攻撃テーブルが賢くなったり超反応したりする訳ではありません。
そんな敵が通路の角等に５～６体詰まって動けなくなっているという状態もしばしばで、そんな所を撃とう物なら突進する敵＋ワープする敵＋ホーミング核爆弾＋レーザースナイパーで即死します。
正直どうにもならないのでコンティニューするしかありません。
ボダラン等を見て敵の動きとか研究した方がいいと思います。
パワーアップは地味すぎてほぼ意味がありません。つけても外しても体感は変わりません。
他の方も言っていますがNot Work状態です。
レベルアップすると体力が上がりますが、その時に追加でボーナスＨＰが得られる、というスキルは１段階につきＨＰ＋１です。ラスボスの段階でレベル８でしたので＋８が最低値です。
敵の攻撃は一発８０以上あるので＋１０とか言われても殆ど機能してません。
パワーアップはすべからく＋１％とか＋１とか雀の涙ですので、全部ＭＡＸと全部無しだともしかしたら少しは違って感じられるのかもしれません、というぐらい効果がありません。
そのぐらい強くなる頃には敵の方が大変な事になっていると思いますので、果たしてパワーアップの意味はあるのかどうか疑問です。
武器のパワーアップは確かに強くなりますが、まともに材料を集めようとしたら１年ぐらいはかかりそうなのでこれは無理だと思いました。
これも別の方が書かれているのですが、このゲームには何も新しい物は無い。というのが言い得ている表現で、本当に地味な苦行です。
週間プレイヤー数が３～５人という現状を見ても納得してしまいます。
ラスボスは運が８割占めますが、もし運良くボスが中空に位置してくれて、運良く武器庫にレールガンとかが入ってて、運良く弾が５０発とか入ってたら倒せるかもしれません。
現在見つかる攻略動画は１．０４版ですが、その後変わったらしく、現在の１．１３では、第二段階の攻撃が大鎌プーメランのホーミングが超強化され、更に連射する様になっていて外道具合に磨きがかかっています。
また、第一、第三段階の避けられない扇弾も連射する様になっていたり、着爆スナイパー攻撃は３回、５回の時に絶対にプレイヤーを狙う様になっている為、必ず３と５はダッシュしないといけません。
ただし扇弾に関しては、ボスがある程度の高さにいれば、ボスの真下に軸合わせをすれば中心と右の一発の間に潜り込めます。ボスがこの高さにいる時が数少ない勝利のチャンスです。
ボスが地面にいたり画面外から攻撃してきた時は、即ＱＵＩＴ ＧＡＭＥしてやり直した方が良いです。
手持ちにマシンガン残弾ゼロとかもやり直した方がいいです。
お手玉攻撃は変わって無いので、強化された扇弾と爆裂スナを避けられれば、第二段階で何人死ぬか次第です。
自分の様に買ってしまったが、クリアせずに詰むのは負けた気がして悔しいという方に、ラスボスで勝てるかもしれないというポイントだけ書いておきました。
旧バージョンの動画でもコントローラー投げてますが、開発者としてはラスボスは無傷で倒せるという事らしいのでもう好きにすればって感じです。
最近モンハンとボダランやってたので、どちらも本当にいい作品だなと改めて感じました。
とりあえずやっつけたぞ。
Short and sweet. More of a game you zen out to, than the type of game you practice at and get better until you master.
Seraph is all about ninjadodging in an 2d environment while shooting down enemies with auto aimed guns.
Sounds weird? Its awesome! Gameplay wise it gets some interesting new playstyle in the good ol 2d Run and gun Genre.
Something i was very positively surprised with is the actual Rogue LiTe DNA this game has.
You can refine and modify your playstile by Levelling and customizing guns,. gear, abilities and - Perks. (1 per lvlup)
The length of the game ist just right. When it gets repetitive it already kinda ends before you have a grindfest.
For those who want to keep playing - there seems to be endgame content and so on... but im done with the game for now.
I had 5 Hours till i saw the credits (and no real ending... :-( ) And gamepolay wise they were a blast.
Basically i can absolutely recommend the game to everyone who thinks the screenshots on the store look cool to them. Because thats exactly what you get- and more.
Seraph is a relatively small but highly ambitious game with high amount of replay value.
In Seraph, you play as an angel who has been captured by humans some time ago and set free by a chain of events that released daemons into the realm of reality. You find a pair of auto-pistols and you start to shoot every single daemon in your sight with acrobatic moves and special powers which, along with character and weapon upgrades, can be upgraded to different tiers throughout the endless journey. Death, on the other hand, is a new beginning.
This game, right here, is a secret gem. It's nothing unusual when it comes to game-play features, especially with "die to start over stronger" pattern with play-through upgrades. Music and art style, however, keeps you going. You find yourself in this weird trance in which you feel this insatiable hunger to hunt more - to upgrade more - to feel the hunger much, much better, perhaps in the flesh. Story, on the other hand, is more of a justification process to tutor the player in many aspects of the game-play. At least, that's what happens in the first couple of hours or so.
Should you buy Seraph? If you're a fan of similar titles or just want to try something different, yes. Does Seraph justify its initial price or should you buy it on a deal? It's not that pricey, so I would still buy it if I knew about it before the Summer Sale. - If anything the soundtrack alone is worth the price.
It's okay, I guess? It plays fine, but there's just not really any compelling content.

I've given it some thought, and I don't think I can recommend this game.
It can be fun, but ultimately, the grind and monotonous AI kinda get boring.
The shard system is one of the most grindiest mechanics in the game, to the point where you HAVE to do the dailys and weekly survival runs because the payoff offers so much more than just running through the campaign.
After a while, I got to my first rebirth, and it just kind of dawned on me. I wasn't really having fun, this became a literal chore.
The combat of the game didn't really evolve, some of the enemies were just poorly designed, and tedious to fight. The miracles are largely kind of boring, and dodging is kind of limiting at only 2 charges. At higher difficulties, it just gets bad.
I wish I figured this out sooner to when this game first released because maybe back then, the developer could've done something about it, but they're at Riot now.
Totalmente recomendado si te gusta la dificultad eventualmente subirà a niveles insospechados y requerira la mayor capacidad gráfica de tu tarjeta de video ya que habrá lamento 40 o 50 demonios en pantalla. Aún así vale la pena
Можно было бы подумать, что игра, в которой by design нет прицеливания, будет крайне казуальной, но Seraph прекрасно справляется с этой задачей, оставаясь весьма увлекательной и не слишком простой.
Плохо здесь лишь то, что складывается ощущение игры в демо-версию. Локаций мало, боссов мало а сюжет обрывается буквально в прологе. Остается куча доступной прокачки, а игра такая "я всё".
Vale la pena pero si te lo regalan, lo ganas de algún sitio o lo compras en alguna oferta muy buena,es muy repetitivo y sin ningún cambio,pasas de nivel matas a los que tienes que matar y sigues asi,sin mucha adrenalina o algo especial,es muy lineal, y es en 2.5D, seria mejor en FPS.

+ стрельба сделана приятно, геймплей удачный.
+ история сама по себе тоже ничего.
+ цена.
Минусы:
- дизайн здесь близок к ужасному. Почти во всем. И интерфейс в меню не самый удобный и уровни все однообразные, с чуть измененными порой текстурами. И "читабельность" этих самых уровней никакая. Что лампы, что собираемые шарики с опытом на лвле - все одинаковые монотонные белые шары.
- способ подачи истории (да, которая сама по себе не плоха) Она подается в виде пары предложений перед началом и в конце миссии + по 1 записке, если поискать. Ничего не озвучено. Никаких даже простеньких катсценок. Особенно это печально в конце игры, где тебе дают сделать выбор... и в любом случае ты попадаешь после него сразу в титры. Выбор есть, а где смысл? как оценить последствия выбора?
- Цены на улучшения очень кусачие. Разрабы явно планировали, что ее будут перепроходить по много раз, вот только смысла в этом никакого. Если в других играх после прохождения дают хотя бы новые костюмы и повышенную сложность. То тут есть пара костюмов, которые предлагаются только за реал.
Bullet hell, action platformer, roguelite? Yes, all blended together into a slick mixture of speed and adrenaline.

So uhm, you an angel, in an african-looking girl's body, in a huge complex, underground, and humans locked you down there.
Sounds about right and to make it even better, you saved when demons show up to say hi.
After all of that, what can you do? Obviously you start gun blazing your way of there while doing god's work on them hellish arses, duh.
Different levels/stages, different mobs/bosses, different abilities, nothing new there
But who would ever expect martial art style based on guns.
Game itself is not that original but the effects and general good ol' murder makes the game pretty fun.
好了，通关，这游戏让我想起了曾经的一张恶搞图。类比如同：
1级，我拿着LV1的手枪讨伐“普通的恶魔“；
10级，我拿着LV2的手枪讨伐“强化的恶魔”；
50级，我拿着LV3的手枪讨伐“终极强化的恶魔”；
100级，我拿着LV4的手枪讨伐“终极强化的超级恶魔”……
这个游戏论游戏操作，剧情，音乐，关卡设计感觉都是平庸水平。但凑在一起就成了无聊的组合。开发组是打算做成RL系列的刷刷刷游戏，可惜的是重复度实在是太高，让人在游玩过程中备受煎熬。
稀少的敌人种类（6种），BOSS只有2名。精英怪就是普通怪换个颜色，加几个BUFF就来和你肛，但可惜AI比较傻，常常容易版边可以耗死。
主人公成长技能实在看不出变化，有时候你加了某些技能，在游戏中的反馈着实微弱，根本可有可无。
背景色调太过灰暗，有时候会和实际场景产生混淆。
随机生成的关卡地图毫无特色，有时在关卡中生成的BUFF房间竟然是在精英怪之后。呵呵，我都TM打过了还要那BUFF干什么？
小章节关卡目标任务过于单调，不是击杀本关内精英怪，就是击破关卡内3个召唤水晶。从第一章到最后一章，没有变化。
作为刷刷刷游戏，一周目下来我拿到的技能点数和升级内容可能都只有15%，但却没有更多的动力去刷了。因为驱动力实在太少。
这个游戏不推荐的理由不是因为游戏做得烂，而是“过于平庸且单调”。

A hidden gem to be sure. Although it can be a bit grindy in the later stages, Seraph is a fast paced action platformer with a large focus on positioning and smart use of you skills. Your weapons lock on automatically to targets, so your only real goal is to avoid dangers and stay near you targets. This creates a very fast paced gameplay that really rewards timing and location as opposed to just tanking attacks. Enemy attacks hit very hard, so you'd best get your platformer shoes on cause you're in for a hell of a ride.
