Fast paced chilled out game, perfect for two players to mess around.
Whether this game is worth it depends a lot on (1) if you play party games with friends using Steam, and (2) if your friend group prefers chaotic, barely controlled party games or more skill-based ones. If you're more like me - playing full co-op games with friends online and more card games or board games in person - this game doesn't really offer much.
The game is fairly simple, though the controls are a mess - most likely by design. For the "chaotic, barely controlled party game" vibe, the ships slipping everywhere, almost unable to fly in a straight line, and everyone flying past each other like drunk ice skaters can certainly contribute.
However, outside of the context of laughing at the ridiculousness with friends, the nearly unusable controls mean that single-player, serious play, and even just playing it consistently will result in it quickly growing old. Single player is also made harder by the AI being quite competent, making it rather difficult to win as others have said in other reviews.
So for a player like me, a game like this just isn't really worth it. However, your mileage may vary, especially if you have regular party nights with a Steam Deck or the like.

On a deeper level, it is a great local multiplayer game, that really brings out that frustration and fighting spirit that a local multiplayer game should.
It tells you controllers recommended, which I would highly recommend as well, this game is at it's most fun played with friends.
I sadly only have had the chance to play this with friends for 13 hours, my only regret is that I didn't get to play more.

This game would honestly be perfect if it was online multiplayer. The devs seem to have abandoned the project, or moved on to bigger/better things. These days, it's the snappy and fast multiplayer games that end up spiking in popularity. I think it would be beneficial for them to figure out Online multiplayer for this and re-market it.

When playing four player local versus, the camera is so zoomed out you literally can't see enemy bullets. The background is a horrible blue checkerboard that also makes it impossible to see bullets against it. Even when you can see (which you can't), the game is just... not interesting. There are so many other great local versus games out there, but this isn't one of them.

It's about balance. No matter what rocket will choose other player, the one that choose double rocket always win. I'm trying new tactics, try to understand possibilities. A fast paced asteroids-style game where players and AI shoot rockets, missiles, and bombs at each other, with short lived shields to deflect opponents shots. The camera is incredibly spastic, constantly zooming in and out of the action, especially when there's only two players remaining. The game is very obviously a local multiplayer game. Only purchase it if you have friends to play with, either locally or through remote play. The game is not very deep - after 2 or 3 plays you understand everything the game has to offer, and there are only a few maps and game mode types. Even with AI the game only supports up to 4 players.
It feels like a Mario Party minigame turned into a full concept. The music is pretty good, everything else is just sort of passable. Controls are easy to pick up but difficult to master in any way by design - the game is meant to feel spastic and out of control constantly. If you have friends that would enjoy it, you'll probably get a few nights of fun out of it, which is pretty good for seven bucks. Otherwise, pass on this.

Bueno si, la premisa es un poco tonta y el juego aburre rápidamente, además no tiene un modo campaña ni nada parecido, es solo un versus entre 4 cohetes como máximo y unos cuantos mapas que tampoco ofrecen variedad. La mecánica es disparar a lo loco o lanzar bombas y esperar a que el enemigo no active el escudo para poder acertar el disparo. Lo único rescatable es el Soundtrack pero todo lo demás me quita las ganas de seguir jugando. No lo recomiendo ni gratis y al parecer los logros están bugeados.
My absolute favorite party game. It is fantastic for late nights where everyone is on that thin edge between awake and asleep when you need something simple but with enough jank to cause some hilarious moments. Is it a perfect game? Absolutely not. Is it even a good game? Debatable. But nothing comes close to this game in terms of chill fun with just enough competition to keep everyone engaged.
The soundtrack is absolutely superb by the way.
This game excels at many things. Graphics, sound design, interface, and game flow are all great.
But this is basically a party game: it's not gonna have an online multiplayer feature, and it's meant to be played with other people together.
Personally I don't think it's possible to make this fast and tight action game into an online version that doesn't feel awkward. But if it's gonna be a singleplayer game (as opposed to online games), I wish that it has good features a good singleplayer game can usually offer: enough contents to justify playing this game alone. Like an arcade game.

The game itself is fun for, as people stated, party usage. I liked playing it for the 10 hrs on record.
Sadly, last time I played there still were some features announced in the menu that were not there, even after some years after release. I don't think there were any updates afterwards, so this game most likely stays unfinished.
It also lacks some more modes and levels (for long time fun) and some bug fixes.
For two or three yaroos, I would recommend this game. For more you better go and get some titles like Isaac (CoOp) and UnderMine (just pass the controller after each run or when you pass da dutchie).

Вот только core-механика меня расстроила вдребезги. Ровно то же самое, 1 в 1, я испытал, играя в Hyperdrive Massacre - ты просто запускаешь матч, пытаешься сделать хоть что-то против AI - и сосёшь. Как я не извивался, как не прицеливался и какие кнопки не нажимал - ни бомбы, ни мины, ни ракеты не смогли мне подсобить в победе над ботом хотя бы единожды. Поражение за поражением, каждый раз. Даже зайдя в How to Play, легче не стало. Враг тупо постоянно находится в моём ненавистном в играх режиме турели - прицел всегда на игроке, какие бы чудеса ловкости ты не проявлял.
Дизайнеру, художникам, музыканту (Ben Lam), и всем прочим, что отвечали за картинку и звук - нижайший поклон.
Тому, кто отвечал за саму стартовую идею и реализацию - "Ты сам засрал весь проект, изначально придумывая такие дурацкие условия. Поздравляю".
Возможно, я бы остался в полном восторге вообще, если бы с самого начала разделил удовольствие геймплея с друзьями, но запускать пока что мне приходилось только соло - а значит, меня встречал только мерзкий, ублюдский "Совершенный искусственный интеллект". Онлайн мультиплеера нет вообще - а значит, и шансов покайфовать и сменить палец вниз на вверх.

Eh. Not for me. I tried playing it by myself and couldn't even really get past the menu screens as it kept saying 'waiting for second player' over and over and over and over again. No matter what mode I chose.
Once there were a few people around it became playable (and kind of pretty) but there are better local co-op games out there.

ROCKETSROCKETSROCKETS is a party game where you and your friend try to blow each other up. Since there is no story we are jumping straight to graphics.
Graphics:
The art style of ROCKETSROCKETSROCKETS is a bright neon look that enjoy. I absolutely adore the neon look and love pretty much everything that is of the same art style, it's bright and vibrant and just pleasant to look at and people who know me can attest that I absolutely love it, so that is something that I have to give huge props to.
Audio:
The soundtrack is also really good. It has some nice techno-ish music and it's does go along with the game well and provides for some good background noise.
Gameplay:
You and a couple of your friends fly around with rockets and try to blow each other up. It's fun enough, but sadly there's many flaws in this game that make me give this a negative review. Don't get me wrong, the gameplay is fun and with a couple of friends it's a blast, but sadly since the game is local co-op only, there's not much play value here.
You need to have a full party for this game to be truly fun, but even then it won't last long, maybe an hour of fun before you and your friends want to jump into something else. There's no doubt that with Online co-op this game would be much more fun.
Verdict:
ROCKETSROCKETSROCKETS is a fun game, but sadly since there's no online co-op, I don't recommend buying this game, not to mention there's many other party games that allow full local co op and also online co op that are much better.

TLDR: Couchplay combat using clumsy Lunar Lander design elements and a ton of neon and some dubstep. Camera issues.
Short lived and ill conceived. You can fight the controls to try to manage momentum and face your foe. You attack using a spread of rocket, which itself seems to only be triggered after an invisible timer finishes.
So you are constantly holding fire, and spurting out attack rockets more or less randomly, while the camera zooms in and out aggressively with the dubstep and the lights blaring.
The controls and camera behavior was marginally better for the solo singleplayer mode, and I even thought for a second that they might have had a shot at making an actual lunar lander remake viable, but unfortunately that mode is also rather empty and unengaging and serves as little more than a practice mode.
Conclusion: This is arguably worse than Starwhal even due to the unadressed design issues. The brute forced art direction and mood will immediately grate some, while wearing off quickly for others as it becomes increasingly clear that the play experience is just uncomfortable for everyone.

A very limited game which we didnt find very appealing to play for very long with. The Zen mode was a little pointless too

The flying mechanics of this game are so fun, but why did they waste it on a local multiplayer game with so little substance. Don't be fooled by my playtime, that was just for the six ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Steam cards, you might gte a half hour of fun out of this thing.

Nie ma co za bardzo opisywać gdyż jest to po prostu przyjemna, prosta (w teorii) gra, w której można się wyszaleć, [b]walcząc rakietą z innymi rakietami, strzelającymi rakietami[/b] – wiem jak to brzmi, ale uwierzcie mi jest w tym głębszy sens xD
Tak więc cały koncept / schemat gry jest wypisany powyżej, to typowa gra rywalizacji, wygrywa osoba która pozostanie najdłużej przy życiu – prosta ale i zarazem wciągająca gra dla małego grona znajomych.
[b]Sterowanie[/b], nie należy do najprostszych to trzeba przyznać, jednakże po pewnym czasie można opanować tajniki sterowania nasza rakietą.
[b]Grafika[/b], jak i muzyka w grze jest dobra, przyjemna w odbiorze, jak na tego typu produkcie (niskobudżetową) nie ma co wymagać – wszystko jest ok.
[b]Przeciwnik komputerowy[/b], jest trudny, zwłaszcza kiedy gramy jeden na jednego możemy się spodziewać solidnego lania – zachęcam by grać ze znajomymi, gra się przyjemniej.
[h1]Podsumowanie:[/h1]
ROCKETSROCKETSROCKETS to mała, przyjemna gra, odskocznia od bardziej zajmujących tytułów, dająca chwile odetchnięcia, szybki zastrzyk zabawy – tytuł często występuje w promocji wiec można go nabyć za naprawdę grosze.
Polecam.
Fun game for single player. AWESOME game for hot seat action.
Gather some friends and this will be one of the must-have party game :)

Wtf.... Looks cool. Unplayable with 2 STEAM controllers though. Maybe it's my fault for buying into the steam hardware bs, maybe there's a way to get it working, I don't know. I know the 2 controllers work fine in other games, but there are as many games that completely DO NOT WORK. So, TLDR - Don't buy if you want to play local multiplayer with a friend using 2 steam controllers. Or, better yet, don't buy Steam's hardware.

Keeping review in case other people have similar problems. Game seems pretty fun so far!
1) Terrible controls
Instead of forward and backward to accelerate/decelerate then left and right to turn the rocket, you just press in the direction you want the rocket to go. Only a person who has never played a plane/ship game would make the controls that way. And you can't change it.
2) Camera is constantly zooming in and out. What a headache.
3) WTF is up with the menu? Why do I need to hold down a button for 3 seconds in order to press it? Makes no sense whatsoever.
Just a poorly designed game.

It's a fun arcade game that makes for some quick fun sessions but it gets kinda repetitive pretty fast.
Not sure I would have enjoyed it at it's full price but I surely had more than a dollar worth of fun in local coop.
PS: the tags are a bit misleading as I thought there was online coop but only managed to find a local coop option

Es hat mich direkt angesprochen und wurd auf die Wunschliste gepackt. Artstyle, Musik und Gameplay haben im Trailer Wunder gewirkt. Habs im Sale geschenkt bekommen und eben eine Weile ausprobiert. Ich wurde nicht enttäuscht!
OST ist wirklich fabelhaft, wenn man denn auf das Genre steht. War auch sehr beeindruckt wie das Menü auf die Controller-Steuerung reagiert und was sich in diesem kleinen feinen Indie-Hit versteckt. Verschiedene Spielmodi, verschiedene Maps, einen Haufen Achievements und Steam Sammelkarten.. was will man mehr? :D
Freu mich schon darauf Freunde platt zu machen. Das wird ein Heidenspaß!
ROCKETSROCKETSROCKETS is a game with the simple concept of being control of a small rocket with the idea being that you have to eliminate up to 3 other rockets (PvP or PvC) using Missles, Mines, and Bombs. Sounds simple, but the way the game presents itself, and how it makes use of what it has it what makes it such a blast to pIay!
The game's enviroments (Maps) consist of simple neon colored shapes that can be used as cover from incoming attacks from enemy rockets. There aren't many maps in the game at the moment but the maps that are currently availible still manage to offer a grand time with friends
The game's graphics consist of the use of simple neon colors that can be seen in the enviroment as mentioned, but dispite being simple the game still manages to look amazing even though there are no use of any background images. The game allows you to use your rockets exaust trails in order to paint the enviroment, even though you may be left with scribbles because of the fact that you'll be dogfighting with other players, but the game offers a Zen mode that lets fly around, drawing in the enviroment, while listening to the game's music.
Speaking of the music. It consists of Dubstep that DEMANDS your attention, even though there isn't much of it (The Soundtrack only consists of nine songs, but they're all good)
lastly, the game's weapons (Missles, Mines, and Bombs) work like you may expect them to in other dogfighting games (Missles can be shot directly towards an enemy rocket and is the primary weapon you will be using, Mines are bombs that can be dropped behind you to stop any Rockets tailing you, and Bombs can be dropped and blow up any enemy rockets from below.) But a quick thing to note on the weapons is that all of them have the secondary ability to be fired in a barrage attack (which is what I call them at least) which fires mutilple rounds from the gun you're using, this can be done by pressing and holding the fire button for that weapon.
In the end, the game is really simple in design but it offers a fun and challenging experience for those who decide to get this game.

I think... don't quote me on this... but I think this game has something to do with rockets.
Great game, super fun! Rockets Rockets Rockets is very simple and easy to pick up, but difficult to truly master. The design is minimalistic and stylish. The rocket and weapon trails are simple yet very nice to look at and the soundtrack always gets me pumped. I have only play VS the computer so far, but have had a blast and can't wait to try this out with friends.
At a low price of $6.99, I'd say it's very worth it for simple yet addictive gameplay.
Wishlist:Greater customization of the rockets and weapons and perhaps workshop support? (Let people design and upload different rockets)
