Uma mistura de NFS The Run com Bornout. Se escolher o carro certo é ótimo, se errar vai achar ruím. Tem carro pra drift e pra grip. Sabendo disso achei excelente.

Ridge Racer™ Unbounded é daqueles jogos que começam prometendo, mas rapidamente se sabotam com decisões de design bem questionáveis. A sensação inicial é boa: visual bacana, clima de destruição urbana, carros pesados, aquela pegada mais agressiva de corrida arcade. Só que, depois de alguns minutos, fica claro que o jogo erra feio no que deveria ser o seu ponto principal: o ritmo da corrida.
O maior problema é o uso excessivo das cutscenes em câmera lenta sempre que o carro bate ou destrói alguma coisa. No começo até parece legal, estiloso, mas depois de poucas corridas isso se torna insuportável: a tela corta para um mini “filme” lento, que dura tempo demais e quebra completamente a adrenalina. Em vez de você sentir o impacto e já voltar para a ação, fica preso olhando o carro rodar em slow motion, como se o jogo estivesse mais preocupado em se exibir do que em deixar você jogar.
Para piorar, enquanto essa cutscene acontece, os oponentes continuam correndo normalmente e te ultrapassam. Ou seja, além de tirar toda a emoção do momento, ainda te pune de forma artificial, não pela sua habilidade, mas porque o jogo decidiu te arrancar do controle por alguns segundos. O resultado é uma experiência frustrante, truncada, em que o fluxo da corrida é constantemente interrompido. Ridge Racer™ Unbounded até tem uma base divertida, mas o abuso dessas câmeras lentas e cutscenes no meio da ação mata boa parte do prazer de competir.

Story:
Das Spiel bricht mit der Tradition der Serie. Statt eleganter Drift-Wettbewerbe geht es hier um die "Unbounded"-Crew in der fiktiven Stadt Shatter Bay. Als neuer Fahrer musst du dir Respekt verdienen, indem du nicht nur Rennen gewinnst, sondern die Stadt sprichwörtlich in Schutt und Asche legst. Eine einfache, aber effektive Street-Racer-Attitüde, die perfekt zum aggressiven Gameplay passt.
Technik und Physik:
Technisch war das Spiel seiner Zeit voraus und sieht auch heute noch fantastisch aus. Die Engine erlaubt eine beeindruckende Zerstörung der Umgebung – Mauern bersten, Säulen stürzen ein und Abkürzungen werden durch Explosionen freigeschaltet. Die Physik ist arcade-lastig und schwer; die Autos fühlen sich wuchtig an, und das Driften erfordert mehr Timing als in den alten Ridge Racer-Teilen.
Gameflow:
Der Flow ist pure Adrenalin-Action. Das Spielprinzip „Drive, Drift, Destroy“ greift perfekt ineinander. Man lädt seinen Boost durch riskantes Fahren auf und nutzt ihn dann, um Konkurrenten auszuschalten oder massive Betonwände zu durchbrechen. Es entsteht ein unglaublicher Geschwindigkeitsrausch, der durch den treibenden Soundtrack noch verstärkt wird.
Kritikpunkt:
Der Schwierigkeitsgrad ist knallhart und kann für Gelegenheitsfahrer frustrierend sein. Die Gummiband-KI der Gegner ist extrem aggressiv und verzeiht kaum Fehler. Ein einziger Fahrfehler kurz vor dem Ziel führt oft dazu, dass man das gesamte Rennen neu starten muss, da die Gegner sofort an einem vorbeiziehen.
Wunsch für die Zukunft:
Ein modernes Remaster mit funktionierendem Online-Multiplayer und einem erweiterten Strecken-Editor wäre ein Traum. Das Spiel hat eine so eigene Identität innerhalb der Serie, dass es einen Nachfolger verdient hätte, der die Zerstörungsphysik mit noch mehr Open-World-Elementen kombiniert.
Fazit:
Ridge Racer™ Unbounded ist ein unterschätztes Juwel und ein absoluter Retro-Klassiker. Es ist zwar kein typisches Ridge Racer, aber als Destruction-Racer gehört es neben Titeln wie Burnout zur absoluten Spitzenklasse. Wild, laut und kompromisslos gut.
Mein Rat:
Lasst euch von den ersten Niederlagen nicht entmutigen! Man muss erst lernen, wie man die Drift-Taste in diesem Teil richtig einsetzt. Sobald man den Dreh raus hat und die ersten Abkürzungen durch Gebäude hindurch freisprengt, macht das Spiel süchtig.

Summary: Destructive arcade racing game
Personal notes: Ridge Racer Unbounded is a interesting entry in the series. Instead of building on what made the earlier Ridge Racer games unique, it takes a sharp left turn and leans much more towards aggresive street racing and destruction. As a fan of some of the older games, this felt nothing like a Ridge Racer game. Despite this, there is some fun to be had. The vehicular combat and destruction are well done making an extremely chaotic experience. In addition, the graphics are also pretty solid considering it's age. The OST is also pretty good. Other than these aspects though, this game falls short IMO. To start off, the handling is considerable worse than previous entries. With cars feeling heavy and despite the variation in car selection, they all feel quite similiar to one another. Additionally, the environment has a really gritty and dark aesthetic all contained within one city which is cool... but felt very muted compared to the colorful identity I knew Ridge Racer for. The sound design is okay, OST is good, but I found it glitched a lot which was frustrating. Talking about glitches, I ran into quite a few while playing this game. Mostly audio but I had a good amount of hard crashes as well. I also found the games overall structure through events to be quite repetitive. It was fun to unlock new cars but all of the events felt similiar after an hour or two. Achievement wise, most are pretty straight forward and are related to completing events and career progression. It does however have a handful of online achievements that are unobtainable now due to them shutting down servers. I was unable to find a workaround to this. All things considered, Unbounded feels like an identity crisis in a game series I used to love. Once again there is fun to be had, the moments when the destruction and speed work together feel great but they are far and few between. The incosistent handling, repetitive events, glitches and drastic change from the series standards hold it back significantly. I honestly wouldn't recommend this game unless it's on sale but even then, I would go for a game like Burnout or Split/Second which do the same thing but to a higher standard. Unfortunately, I think this game was the nail in the coffin for a great racing series.

Начнём с того, что это не Ридж Рейсер, а Флатаут. Помимо одних и тех же разработчиков, у игр схожий геймплей. Где за разрушение городской инфраструктуры и нокдауны дают буст, который тратится на пробив стен зданий.
Главные гимики игры - разрушение окружения и редактор трас. с первым всё в порядке, а со вторым уже проблемы. Все трасы в игре состоят из заготовленных "кварталов" города, которые в основном представляют из себя прямые и повороты на 90 градустов. Из-за чего уже через 2 часа игры уже выучиваешь все "кварталы".
Физика нормальная, но если ехать по прямой. Машины литерали куски мыла. Они еле поворачивают, а дрифт тупо смещает вектор направления. Ещё добавлю, что чувство скорости не чувствуется. Ощущается, что все машины едут с одной скоростью.
Режимы тоже тоже выделяются, но не в положительном ключе. Помимо стандартной гонки, есть режим дрифта, уничтожение, гонка "шиндо", и 2 вариации тайм атаки ".
[i]Гонка[/i] - ничего особенного в рамках игры, действиями на трассе заполняешь шкалу энергии с помощью которой пробиваешь новые дороги через здания. [i]Дрифт[/i] - вспоминаем про физику и проходим через матюки. [i]Уничтожение[/i] - на тягаче сбиваем копов. [i]Гонка “шиндо”[/i] такая же как и обычная, только без главного гиммика - разрушений (на первом круге уже зиваешь). [i]2 типа тайм атаки[/i] – одна проходит на трассах аля трэкмания, а вторая просто тихий ужас. Суть режима - проехать трасу максимально быстро, выучив траекторию и повороты. И в режим в котором необходима точность добавляют мусоров. При условии жёстких временных рамок, постоянно таранящий тебя мусор превращает заезд в ёбанную лотерею.
Всю эту красоту могли бы спасти трассы от комьюнити, но сервера уже лет 10 мертвы.
Зато саундрек огонь.

Брать игру, чтобы играть конкретно на STEAM DECK, не советую. Играть-то можно, как заявлено, но изменить настройки не получится. В менюшке, которая появляется перед запуском, всё остаётся по дефолту. Язык не сменить(по умолчанию - English). Анизотропную фильтрацию не прибавить. Разрешение и соотношение сторон тоже так же останется на 1280×800(16:10) - это плохо, если у вас есть док станция и вы предпочитаете играть на экране монитора или телевизора в разрешение выше нативного. Но если для вас это всё не критично, то почему бы и нет.

What's most annoying and strange about this game is that when you're in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or who knows where, the enemies can just drive and slam you. Instead of any logic or logic in their empty little heads, they have some crazy eyes. And I'll be honest, in my opinion, this is just another piece of crap. It's not a game that had a more similar situation. What about another ♥♥♥♥♥♥-up title like Burnout Paradise Remasted? I don't recommend buying this garbage. It's the worst I could have ever bought on sale (2/10).

Ridge Racer: Unbounded dla mnie jest dość specyficzną "ścigałką". Nie powiedziałbym że jest zła, ale nie spodoba się każdemu - dużo będzie zależeć, czego gracz oczekuje. Jeśli jesteś typem gracza, który przede wszystkim chce dobrego modelu jazdy, bardziej "skillowej" rozgrywki opartej po prostu na ściganiu się - istnieje bardzo duża szansa, że gra Ci nie siądzie. Jeśli chcesz po prostu pojeździć bryką, porozbijać się i pobawić z różnymi urozmaiceniami, boosterami, bardziej szalonymi trasami i trybami polegającymi na eliminacji - nie widzę przeciwwskazań by sięgnąć po tytuł.
[b]Model jazdy[/b]
Według mnie, kiepsko-średni. Sam model jazdy często zachowuje się dość nienaturalnie, nie punktuje "skilla" - często dużo bardziej opłacalne jest odbijanie się od band i przeciwników niż prawidłowe pokonanie zakrętu. Skręcanie niektórymi pojazdami jest BARDZO dziwne (niektóre prawie wcale nie skręcają xD). Drifty są dość nienaturalne i po dziwnej linii. Dodatkowo, obijanie się i niszczenie rzeczy pomaga ładować "boostery", więc premiowany jest raczej chaos i rozpiernicz, a bardziej skillowa jazda może być pokarana. Może dawać fun i niektórymi pojazdami jeździło mi się całkiem przyjemnie, ale no trzeba się przyzwyczaić.
[b]Wyścigi i ich typy, rozgrywka[/b]
Co do samych wyścigów, mamy takie opcje:
a) "czysty" wyścig, gdzie możemy naładować boosta (nitro), poza tym żadnych udziwnień
b) wyścig z eliminacjami - czyli jak wyżej, z tym że wspomniany boost poza zwiększeniem prędkości pozwala nam też na wyeliminowanie przeciwnika, taranując go lub uderzając. Tak samo rywale mogą wyeliminować nas, co skutkuje w "respie" i utracie pozycji/czasu. Eliminacje można robić też bez boosta, ale wymagać to będzie wielokrotnego walenia w przeciwnika albo konkretnego zepchnięcia z trasy. W czasie tych wyścigów, możemy też z pomocą wspomnianego boosta rozwalać ściany i inne takie odkrywając skróty.
c) drift - tłumaczyć chyba nie trzeba
d) "frag attack" - na trasie jeżdżą albo policyjne albo wyścigowe pojazdy, my mamy boosta który odnawia się co chwilę - musimy wyeliminować najwięcej pojazdów jak się da w danym czasie
e) "time attack" - mamy jakiś "kaskaderski" tor, który musimy pokonać w wyznaczonym czasie. Po drodze są ikonki, które możemy "zbierać" wydłużając czas który na to mamy.
Sama różnorodność wyścigów - na plus, potrafią dać fun. Jednak co boli, to że balans pojazdów jest trochę słaby. W danych kategoriach, upatrzyłem sobie raczej jeden/dwa które wyraźnie odstawały od pozostałych, w efekcie - niezbyt opłacało się później rotować innymi. No i nie wiem czy to kwestia edycji, ale miałem do dyspozycji na starcie kilka bryk które no cóż, zamiatały totalnie konkurencję. Lepiej jakby się je mimo wszystko odblokowywało :P
Co do samej rozgrywki - mamy X dzielnic, każda ma X wyścigów, które mają 3 gwiazdki (poziomy zaliczenia). Nabijamy punkty, odblokowujemy kolejne, tak dalej, tak dalej.
[b]Grafika/audio[/b]
Co do audio jakiś większych zastrzeżeń nie ma, graficznie jak na rok w którym została wydana - spoko, chociaż w jednej z "dzielnic" trochę wkurzało mnie odbijające się światło.
[b]Podsumowanie[/b]
Tym co szukają bardziej "skillowej" ścigałki, bez większych udziwnień i z dobrym modelem jazdy - odradzam. Tym którzy chcą pojeździć for fun, czasami w bardziej szalonych stypulacjach i z urozmaiceniami i nie wymagają wybitnego modelu jazdy - można ograć ;) Osobiście jestem w pierwszej kategorii, stąd moja łapka w dół.

This is an excellent racing game. It's better than Burnout in my opinion. It feels like a cross between Burnout and Most Wanted 2012 (the weird one) and Ridge Racer 6-7. It's one of the few times where the "edgy" version of something ("Edgy" Ridge Racer in this case) has gone well. Though it is a disgrace that the publishers ever thought this approach was needed or appropriate for Ridge Racer, and that Ridge Racer died after this.
The orange aesthetic is a bit intense and gimmicky, but is unique and beautiful. The handling is weighty and feels good (though sometimes feels broken?). The environment art for the cities/levels looks good, crisp, different from other racing games. Sometimes you can't tell where the given route goes...that's frustrating. It's annoying to get "Fragged!" by the NPC opponents, but that's OK. Sometimes it also felt impossible to stay ahead of the NPC cars, but, it seems that you collect progression points anyway even if you lose, so it doesn't matter (I think?). The "shortcuts" don't actually save time. Using Nitro Boost (the blue one, not the orange one) doesn't even let you catch up to opponent cars.
The only reason this game didn't become mega-popular is because gamers are mostly tasteless morons. It has lots of flaws but it's fun and good and I like it.

ehh, its okay? its not great, but its all of the late 2000's arcade racing games genre into one. it does not feel like ridge racer at all, more like burnout but it feels like im handling a boat at all times, and the game just feels slow. the sense of speed is mediocre, and again, just feels like burnout's special-ed brother. 3/10, buy a ps3 or emulate RR7.
the car designs are pretty lame, there's maybe 1 or 2 cars that i actually thought were solid-looking, but thats about it.

Произошёл миснейминг. По своему духу Unbounded гораздо ближе к серии Burnout, нежели к Ridge Racer. Это хардкорная скоростная аркадная гонка с крайне своеобразной физикой дрифта, заполнением шкалы ускорения через агрессивное вождение и возможностью наблюдать за сочным уничтожением автомобилей противников в слоумо.
Главная фишка игры – разрушаемые объекты окружения. Разные бетонные заграждения на дороге, ящики, бочки, выступающие части зданий и опорные балки сносятся подчистую, а если активировать ускорение, появляется возможность ломать ещё и некоторые стены, открывая таким образом шорткаты. Всё это красиво разлетается на кусочки во все стороны, по физике взаимодействует с другими автомобилями и при этом совсем не просаживает FPS. Игра вообще отлично оптимизирована и летает даже на крайне слабом железе.
Противники не щадят. Здесь нет поддавков перед финишем, аккуратного вождения, адаптивной сложности или чего-либо ещё, призванного обеспечить игроку комфорт. Точно так же, как игрок может активировать нитро и сделать хет-трик из болванчиков, они могут снести автомобиль самого игрока в ответ, причём делают это с завидной регулярностью. Поверьте, заезды в этой игре получились очень сложные.
Гриндвол. В одной гонке ты приходишь на первом месте, а в следующей уже всё время волочишься на последнем, даже без намёка на возможность занять призовое место, пока не нагриндишь себе приличный ранг для разблокировки автомобилей с характеристиками получше. И это скучно. А вот что точно не скучно, так это OST. Господи, что за song ласкает мои ears? Ridge Racer всегда тащили подбором музыки, и эта часть – не исключение.
Ещё в игре был мультиплеер и возможность погонять на трассах, созданных другими игроками, но спустя всего три года с момента релиза серверы были закрыты. Из-за этого же при каждом запуске игры приходится ждать 10 секунд, пока она пытается подключиться к сети. Редактор трасс, кстати, всё ещё доступен, но строить их можно только для самого себя. Отсюда же вытекает моя главная претензия к этой игре: все трассы режима карьеры созданы в этом же редакторе из некоторого количества заранее заготовленных блоков, расположенных в разной последовательности. Даже если намеренно не искать закономерность, эти блоки уже спустя час игры начинают становиться узнаваемыми и надоедать. В разных районах и режимах заездов отличаются только освещение и скайбокс.
P.S. Не ведитесь на скидку на базовую версию игры, ведь набор с ней и всеми дополнениями на распродаже стоит ещё дешевле.
Игра напомнила мне Split Second, только получилась посложнее. Лайк просто за то, что вышла с бомбической графикой и отличным саундтреком.

With no real highlights on the positive side, the negatives quickly become overwhelming:

[*] It delivers Burnout-style racing in a non-Burnout franchise - one that was never known for destruction in the first place;
[*] Drifting feels meh, with very limited impact compared to its heyday, when it was practically a trademark of the series;
[*] Reflections look good, but the lighting is extremely off and doesn’t feel natural (even if I can accept it as part of the game’s creative direction - it still hurts the overall presentation);
[*] Different vehicles all handle far too similarly, with characteristics like handling, speed, and acceleration barely mattering early on;
[*] Crash physics - the supposed highlight of this entry - feel… weird. Most crashes only happen head-on, while side taps (into vehicles or obstacles, regardless of speed) barely make a dent;
[*] Maps across the first three chapters all blend together and feel the same, partly due to the lighting and colour palette.

Alas, the final verdict is that it isn’t a bad game per se. With the lighting issues fixed, it could’ve been an interesting racing title with a Burnout-esque twist. But slapping the Ridge Racer name onto it killed whatever hope this game - and the franchise - might have had.
With multiplayer dead for over a decade, and no rumours or leaks in sight, this feels like a sad ending to a franchise that once introduced some of the most innovative features in the racing genre - and even produced a title considered an all-time great.
Hopefully, with a lot of luck, we’ll see a new entry in the near future, and Unbounded will remain a forgotten footnote that no one will miss.

Поиграть - поиграл, а обзор не написал. Вернулся в то самое время, которое я не проводил за ней, но играл в игры на подобии нее. Для меня сама нотка ностальгии это вернуться в старые проекты и опробовать их по новой. Чисто купить - поиграть пару часиков - продать. Как бы игра однообразная и скучная по мне после 5-ти гонок, но это не значит, что она не заслуживает своего времени. ;3 было клева

A spectacular arcade racer. The biggest issue this game always had was its track piece design. Now that the server are down this is even more clear.
Otherwise, unbounded has the most complex drift mechanic in a "brake to drift" arcade racer I've played. Has a lot of flickering on deck but very playable.

It's highly underrated game, mostly because fans of series expected another Ridge Racer with number next to the title, not the spin-off. But it's not their first spin-off. Remember R: Racing Evolution from 2003 and Critical Velocity from 2005?
Ridge Racer Unbounded is a mix of Burnout, Ridge Racer (obviously) and Trackmania. Mostly in races you will see the combination of Burnout and Ridge Racer but in some time attack events you'll be jumping on platforms just like in Trackmania. And there's more modes. Drifting events, frag challenges where you have to defeat as much opponents as possible. There's a lot to do and game doesn't feel repetitive even if most of time you spend in same city.
Back in days it got released I bought physical copy but not for Ridge Racer but for fact it was made by Bugbear, studio I highly respected back then and still do. Even if their games had more realistic driving model in comparition with this one it's still a fun factor. When those devs make something it's just pure fun.
Better get Burnout Paradise or Flatout

Dont buy this game.
Gameplay is horrible, it looks like they didnt test it. Races are either too easy or too diffficult. Some cars are horrible to handle. Points to unlock new races inside districts makes no sense and it shows how poorly they tested it, there is a district where i have 3 stars on all races (first) but cant unlock the final one because of points you get to destroy stuff and "frag" take down other racers. Soundtrack is also lacking more variety. No wonder this series is dead. Spend more on a game that is worth it.

Gra wyścigowa, fabuły raczej nie posiada jest bardzo nijaka może jej zamysł nie jest całkiem zły ale na pewno ma niewykorzystany potencjał. Warto zaznaczyć że gra nie jest dla graczy casualowych ze względu na jej nie równy poziom trudności oraz tragiczny model jazdy. Ja jako osoba z dość dużym doświadczeniem w grach wyścigowych arcade i simcade miałem problemy z uzyskaniem wyniku do ukończenia wyścigów.

I played this game a lot on PlayStation 3, but it is still a lot of fun to play to this day. You can tell in everything that it is a bit older, but the game is certainly not inferior to games today.

My feelings on Unbounded are conflicted but generally positive. The driving is pretty fun, there's plenty of event variety, I love the very slightly futuristic aesthetic and on paper the modular map design is pretty neat. But in reality, it's not quite all that. Let's explore why through the event types.
Domination Race- the bread and butter of Unbounded, what it does best. Destructive racing with sort-of-power-ups and shortcuts that you can open up. It's genuinely quite fun but it feels half-hearted- Split/Second went all-out on the shortcuts thing and Flatout 2 did destructive urban racing better.
Shindo Race- cleaner racing where you earn points through drifting and instead of destructive power you have a normal boost. It too is really fun, but when it uses so many of the same assets as the Domination events, except you now can't use the shortcuts or targets, it's a bit "here's what you could have won".
Drift Attack- a drift event with time counting down, good drifts extend the time. But you have to nail your first few corners, because later on it just... stops adding as much time on until there's basically none. Doing that after you meet the target score would be fair, Burnout's Road Rage events did that so they wouldn't just go on forever, but this game starts doing it when you're like halfway in and it feels like they're artificially making it harder- kinda scummy if you ask me.
Time Attack- the most varied in and of itself, completing a course in a given time. Sometimes it's stunt tracks with collectibles that give you extra time, sometimes it's fleeing the police and relying on power and shortcuts to make up time. Nothing wrong with this one really.
Frag Attack- has to be the weakest. It's a sort of halfway house between Burnout's Road Rage and Traffic Attack, and nowhere near as good as either. In the truck vs cops ones, you're given a semi truck which is slower than the cars you're trying to wreck and has no handling to speak of so you can't really hit anything. In the car vs car ones, the power mechanic is so overdone that you'll hit one and end up shooting straight past about 5 more that you needed to get the winning score.
Then there's everything else about it. The soundtrack isn't exactly varied and feels much shorter than it is- even if you liked Skrillex before, you'll be sick of that by the time you finish this game. Modular track design is seemingly built for the track creator tool, which is only interesting for about 20 minutes. In regular races it becomes disorienting as the same piece is used in multiple places and you're not where you think you are, especially if you need to reset- which you will fairly regularly because the physics like to freak out and flip your car over or turn it around a lot. On top of that the lighting is... strange. That means everything from your car appearing to be a different colour, to entire sections of track where you can't see anything at all- not good when you're whizzing around corners sideways at like 90mph. Then there's the difficulty- the campaign is split into multiple areas, and although the final two are definitely the hardest, the first two are also weirdly tricky to score well on.

Me desculpem os fãs da franquia, mas eu adorei esse game. Foi o primeiro da série que joguei e gostei muito, apesar de saber depois que este foi o título mais execrado pelos fãs. No entanto, pra mim ele é muito divertido, bem polido e desafiador. A história é bem básica e clichê, então esse jogo é mais pra quem não liga pra isso e gosta mesmo é de correr. Achei as pistas e os cenários lindos, são distintos embora todas sejam dentro da cidade (mudando apenas os bairros). Há belos carros, e bons pilotos (as CPUs muitas vezes são agressivas e espertas, pois elas também atacam como você). O som de modo geral é muito bom e as músicas me agradaram bastante, dentro das pistas e fora delas nos menus. São músicas eletrônicas e eu costumo gostar muito quando jogos de corrida usam esse gênero ou o rock. Comprei esse jogo por 8$ pratas, mas já vi a 4$ em promoção aqui na Steam. Esse game vale bem mais que isso, na minha opinião. Foi uma grata surpresa.
Enfim, se você gosta de corridas frenéticas no estilo arcade em clima de guerra e destruição, vai gostar desse título, tenho certeza. Só não vai gostar quem tiver buscando um simulador ou algo muito próximo da realidade.

Отличная игра. Геймплей динамичный, музыка качает, графон радует глаз. Разве что отрубленный онлайн печалит. А так просто классная игра где можно разрывать соперников на куски, проходить насквозь стены будто Халк.

Per me è un SI; è Ridge Racer ? ...SI. Premessa: ho giocato, al tempo, i primi 4 Ridge Racer su Playstation 1; questo ha la velocità di Ridge Racer, le derapate controllate di Ridge Racer, le musiche di Ridge Racer; pochi tracciati? considerato che i primi 3 avevano 1 pista con 3 varianti, direi che qui si "abbonda"; per il gameplay prende anche da altri giochi ed è un bel miglioramento; il "turbo" va gestito e sfruttato al momento più adatto; se lo sparate a caso perderete inesorabilmente; è fluidissimo e pure molto piccolo di spazio su disco, cosa che apprezzo ancor di più ( è da pazzi fare un gioco di corse da 100gb...). divertentissimo e furioso al punto giusto.
Ridge Racer Unbounded ist mittlerweile ein Spiel einer vergessenen oder sogar verlorenen Ära von Action Arcade Rennspiele. Ich hatte das Spiel auf der PS3 als es raus kam und hatte eine Menge Spaß. Split/Second ist auch sehr empfehlenswert, da es noch actionreicher ist.
Nach all den Jahren ist es immer noch unterhaltsam, aber man merkt das teilweise etwas fummelig ist. Ich kann das Spiel eigentlich nur empfehlen. Es läuft erstaunlicherweise sehr gut auf Windows11 und man bekommt es regelmäßig sehr billig. Wenn man ein paar Gameplay-Schwächen verzeihen kann, dann wird man mit diesem Spiel sicher gut unterhalten!
Außerdem war es diese Spiel, welches meine Liebe für elektronische Musik geweckt hat, vor allem für Dubstep. Zwar nicht unbedingt relevant, aber ich wollte es erwähnt haben.
Bleibt nur zu hoffen, dass diese Spiele irgendwann eine Art Renaissance erleben, aber ich glaube fast nicht. Vielleicht traut sich irgendwann ein Indie oder AA-Studio an diese Art von Spiel heran.

1) You want a Ridge Racer game.
Ridge Racer rewards flow, driving skill, timing, and practice. This game is not that.
Ridge Racer has amazing tracks that stick with you, that look like places you want to go to, that are fun to just cruise around. This game is not that.
Ridge Racer looked amazing. The first one was ground breaking, Type 4 pushed the limits, 5 started a new generation of graphics. It has been technical prowess and style. This game is not that.
Ridge Racer was about racing, the love of racing. This game is not that.
Looking for a Ridge Racer game, you will be very unhappy.
In the framework of Ridge Racer this game is ugly, uninspired, un-fun, that tracks are awful, the handling is worse, the game modes are rubbish and there is no Ridge Racer to be found in this anger inducing mess.
Everything that makes a Ridge Racer game is absent or the antithisis of this game.
2) You don't care about Ridge Racer and you want a fun, smashy, charge around, hit boost and brake things game.
If that's your jam this apparently this is ok/good. Think Burnout. Apparently people who do want that like this game.

Se esse jogo tivesse sido lançado em 2008 como "Unbounded" apenas, teria recebido várias notas 8 e seria considerado uma "hidden gem" hoje em dia. Porém, ele foi lançado em 2012 como "Ridge Racer". E acho que não há exemplo melhor de como um nome pode estragar a percepção que temos de um jogo.
Ridge Racer é a franquia dos céus azuis, cenários paradisíacos e personagens estilosos. Carros possantes "driftando" em curvas por cidades costeiras, montanhas e metrópoles agitadas. Ridge Racer: Unbounded é o contrário disso. Pense num filho bastardo de Burnout e Split/Second. Esse é Ridge Racer: Unbounded.
Aqui, os "takedowns" se chamam "frags", mas você ainda precisa completar seus objetivos para conseguir as 3 estrelas no final da corrida. E os pontos ganhos nelas viram experiência que vai desbloqueando novas pistas e carros a medida que você sobre de nível. Os carros, porém, são pesados, a atmosfera é mais visceral e há um foco na destruição do cenário.
Tudo isso numa atmosfera que grita 2007-2009: o filtro amarelo, o aspecto "sujo", a cidade decadente. Parece que estamos de volta ao mundo dos primeiros Gears of War.
Se você gosta de Burnout, de Split/Second e dos Flatouts antigos, desenvolvidos pela mesma Bugbear Entertainment, provavelmente vai curtir Ridge Racer Unbounded.
Porém, se você é fã dos Ridge Racers do PSP ou do PS3, vai odiar. Ainda mais considerando que esses jogos nunca foram portados para o PC. E, até hoje, não existe nem sequer um indie com uma vibe parecida.
(O online já morreu a tempos. Porém, o conteúdo single player não é mau e, nas promoções, esse jogo custa menos que uma coxinha ou uma passagem de ônibus. Então, no geral, vale a pena.)

If you approach Unbounded as its own thing – not a traditional Ridge Racer – it’s a flawed but enjoyable ride. Perfect for when you just want to blow stuff up at 200 km/h.

Ridge Racer serisi bu oyuna gerçekten çok uzak. Oynanış grafikler çok farklı. Seri ile alakanız yoksa bu oyun oynanabilir kafa dağıtmalı güzel bir oyun. Arada bir oyun çöktü bende genelde yarışlar bittikten sonra oldu. Save alıyor oyuna tekrar girdiğinizde merak etmeyin. İyi oyunlar
This game is actually so atrocious I don't even wanna talk about it, you can't even 100% because the online is gone LOL. Just don't bother buying this, the fact they still sell this at full price is crazy, this ain't even worth the dirt in my balls.
