No Longer worth the effort, just trying to launch the game after installation is a hassle. Showing nothing but a Error Code "360" because it supposedly can't find the internet host properly or isn't even using it at all. The game used to be good, but now they make it practically impossible to play it.

This game was top tier, very unique taming system, i absolutely adored. I have not yet come across another mmo since that even comes close to this. I stopped playing after 347 hours of gameplay because the game dev's got greedy and it became pay to win. Really a damn shame to see this game end up like this, it had so much potential!.

Mas eu gostava demais, nunca tive problemas de crash, a experiência de jogo foi ótima eu adorava as montarias, as missões, os mapas, as recompensas de login, tuuudo, eu jogava antes uma versão traduzida, então sempre acompanhei a história certinho, esse e cabal foram os jogos online que me chamaram pra esse mundo. só que assim como o outro o jogo foi acabando e as pessoas parando de jogar, isso é triste porque o jogo fica esquecido. Mas se fosse com outra divulgação e uma repaginada geral, é um jogo que vale a pena dar uma chance...
Riders of Icarus was always a fun game to play. It had an interesting story and I loved all of the different mounts in the game. Yes, some were very hard to tame and required multiple steps, but once you succeeded in taming one it was the most rewarding feeling. I didn't like that you had to complete every single side quest or you wouldn't be a high enough level to kill certain bosses and continue the story. I actually got stuck at a certain point because I was too weak to kill anything and it sucked having to go back and grind monsters for xp to level up. Regardless, I'm sad to see this game go.

My favourite game of this type(mmrpg,rpg) It was a lot of fun to play with international friends and collect mounts and hoan the character. Saddly tho the game slowly died first with bugs that were not fixed and then players leaving so ended up being all by myself. Also many of the servers got shutdown

I played this game since it came out back in 2016. Its servers where always rustling and full of life, until it was ruined by greed. I hope someone buys the rights and revives it with a new fresh, twist.
Riders of Icarus has always held a special place in my heart. Few MMORPGs managed to capture the same sense of freedom and wonder that came with taming, riding, and battling atop majestic flying creatures. The thrill of exploring vast skies and discovering powerful mounts was unmatched, and the game’s world still looks surprisingly beautiful even years later.
That said, Riders of Icarus wasn’t without its flaws. The gameplay could get repetitive over time, and the lack of new content made it tough for returning players to stay engaged. It was an older game that could have benefited from more updates and developer attention — but even so, its charm and creativity never really faded.
It’s sad to see it finally shut down. Riders of Icarus deserved more time to shine, and many of us will miss the feeling of taking to the skies one last time. Despite its age and imperfections, it gave players countless unforgettable adventures — and for that, it will always be remembered fondly.

An absolutely goated entry for the MMORPG genre, top tier gameplay and unique taming mechanic where ANY creature you come across you could tame and use as a mount, from kangaroos, to boars, to dragons, to flying whales. Game will be missed <3
Edit : There is a good private server still hosting and updating the game, it's called Icarus Phoenix. Russian based but the connection is good somehow, I've heard the English speaking community is steadily growing in the game.

An interesting concept of an MMORPG that lets you capture monsters and use them as mounts. To bad the character creation is basic as are the classes you get. Also, the ability to capture monsters was locked behind a pay to win energy system. Played it for a little while and never bothered to go back. Not shocked it closed.

Very worth wile if you have people who will play it with you. The bestiary has a great amount of creatures, the skills are fun to use and not hard to combo, and the story is awsome (even if it does take months to get from one story beat to the next).

I am highly disappointed that this game was discontinued. This was one of my favorite games, and I'm sure that because it was free, it didn't get enough funds to keep itself alive. This game was beautiful, wonderful, and reminded me a lot of WOW, but 1000 times better. I hope that this game can come back eventually, and if it does, know that I will do whatever it takes to play it again. I miss this game dearly and will forever.

I really loved this game for the 24 hours I got to play. However, after said "24 hours," my game would crash every time I tried to load it up. I've tried everything recommended to fix it, and it no fix.

I used to absolute love this game when I was a teenager. I still to this day miss games like this and have been trying to find one that could be at least somewhat similar to this but I haven't found one to replace it. It's sad to see that the game is down now. End of an era for sure. Overall the game was everything I was looking for from MMORPG and I would definitely enjoy a game like Riders of Icarus still.

Will miss this game a lot, it was my entire childhood, worth it while it was around, I've got more than 800 hours on, it's likely just nostalgia speaking, but even incomplete and imperfect, it was a good game in it's own.

I'm really sad I missed the announcement about the servers shutting down I really wish I got to play it one last time... I wish I started playing the game back when it released! I only started around 2020-2021 when the game was already dead and still had lots of fun playing! I can only imagine how much fun the game was when it first released and load of ppl played! I also really regret never making it to the end game content it was already getting super cool at my level! (I was around Level 45-50 If I remember right....) sighhh I'm gonna miss this game :(
This was one of the cutest games of the last few years, and sadly one that I only discovered on the brink of its closure.
For a 2016 game, the graphics weren't that bad either. It had gorgeous environments (like Hakanas Highlands and its blue tree in the middle of Morineh Lake), a huge mount/pet roster, and overall beautiful armor designs.
I spent hours trying to complete the bestiary and my most prized possession was Soluna the Spiroon, which I wanted from the very beginning. All in all, I am happy that I enjoyed every single second of this game and I would have liked to see it at its peak popularity, sharing the game worlds with other players.
It's a real shame that they decided to close the server (skipping the merge altogether, as they initially announced), but I can understand the need to let go of a product that has been practically dead for years.
I hope that in the future other companies will use some aspects of RoI in a game with a similar theme (bestiary), but for now I'll try to make do with the good memories of these last few months <3

Ich wollte dem Spiel gerne eine weitere Chance geben, aber leider ist es unspielbar.
Sobald ich versuche zu spielen, hab ich einen schwarzen Bildschirm und der PC startet neu.
Sowas sollte nicht passieren und es ist mir auch egal aus welchem Grund es passiert. Mein PC ist stark genug und ich habe keine Lust lange nach Gründen zu suchen, was nicht nötig wäre, wenn das Spiel vernünftig programmiert wäre.
Dřív bylo chytání mountů aspoň trochu reálné, ale teď ? Když pominu vše ostatní, jako například migraci ze steamu na valofe, při které mi smazali původní vymazlenou postavu, tak teď už nejdou chytat ani ti mounti, což bylo to poslední co mě na této hře bavilo. Dřív byla možnost, když hráč 10x failnul, že dostal 100% mark ale teď už ani to ne. A 12x failnout na jednom mountovi, 10x na dalším a 5x na dalším, to už je přestřel ne ? Tato hra už je opravdu jen ztráta času a zbytečně zabrané místo na pc.

The Good:
- You can tame almost every creature on the game
- Some regions at the beginning make you travel between them for quests, instead of the traditional one map at a time
The Bad:
- Many graphical glitches across multiple maps
- High CPU usage for such an old game (tho it's a bit less on Linux, than Windows)
- Frequent crashes, and i mean REALLY frequent, on Tritael crashes were every 5-10 mins. This is the main problem with the game, i almost didn't continue because of this
- The story is pretty boring
- Way too many invisible walls on the air, so you can't even use your flying mount properly to travel between zones
- The game is not open world, which also contributes to not having a really good experience with flying mounts
- Enemies are way too easy on early levels, you one-shot everything. And half-way through the story, difficulty suddenly peaks with enemies than can kill you in seconds, instead of a gradual increase.
- Sometimes quest characters glitch, so you need to re-do the same quest multiple times
- The last region, Magmapora, is impossible to kill even a single mob without being a pay to win player
Overall a bad experience. Especially considering ArcheAge came 3 years earlier than this with an open-word, better graphics, better gameplay, seafaring mechanics, trading, better performance and no crashing.

Bought this when it first went live but apparently somewhere along the way they went "Free to Play" and deleted peoples bought equipment and accounts with a very small grace period to claim so, all of that is gone now. Feels like theft but can't really do anything but warn people and give them a public thumbs down
