The quaint island town of Redfall, Massachusetts, is under siege by a legion of vampires who have blocked out the sun and cut the island off from the outside world. Honnêtement, le jeu n'est pas SI mauvais que ça. Il est pas bon, c'est sûr, mais pas SI mauvais.
Pourtant ça commence bien, l'endroit est plutôt joli, esthétiquement c'est soigné, l'ambiance est pas mal, mais ça tourne vite à la purge vu que c'est ULTRA-répétitif, en pratique, niveau game design, on retourne 10 ans en arrière, on flingue, on ramasse des trucs, on achète des trucs, on flingue du demi-boss, du boss, et c'est reparti pour un tour. Sans compter l'IA des adversaires totalement hallucinante. Genre, on flingue à distance, sans silencieux, si on reste à couvert, les adversaires un temps affolés se détendent vite du slip et retournent à leur occupations et on peut continuer le massacre.
Finalement, ce qui caractérise ce jeu, c'est qu'il est profondément stupide.
Mais pour être honnête, il y a plein de jeux incroyablement stupides qui ont leurs fans hardcore (Farcry par ex.).
Alors disons que ce jeu est profondément stupide ET ennuyeux.
Mais j'ai vu (nettement) pîre. Et les jeux en question ne sont pas aussi mal notés.
Le problème, c'est que c'est un jeu Arkhane, b0rdel de m3rde !!!! Et ce qu'on pardonnerait (un peu) à d'autres, est ici rédhibitoire (même si Arkhane a pondu une suite nullarde à Wolfenstein dans le temps).
Donc n'achetez pas ce jeu ou alors attendez qu'il tombe sous les 10 euros, parce qu'alors, ça sera rentable.

I had the chance to play and beat this one on xbox game pass a few years back and had a great time. It's on sale so we picked it up and tried co op. Very fun. No tutorial phase where you gotta "get to a certain spot" in order to unlock co-op. It just works first thing. Loads pretty fast and has a fun art style. The playable characters are fun but nothing you haven't seen before in an RPG. Still good though.

Honestly I dont think redfall was as bad as people portrayed it to be. What really killed this game was the xbox vs playstation war with fans and media outlets from the release of the Xbox Series X and PS5. Playstation was making better games at the time and Phil wasn't helping by double speaking so this game by default just never had a chance. Now I get to experience it on my 5090 and it's beautiful.

Redfall was an attempt at an Live Service game by Arkane Austin, and failed horribly.
In 2022, Arkane Austin was mandated by Zenamax to develop an Live Service game to dabble into the market, failed miserbly due to a troubled development cycle marked by a lack of clear direction and terrible mismanagement, severe understaffing (Less then 100 people worked on this game, AND many old devs left!), and enforced an live service direction, which did NOT work with the devs who mainly worked on linear, singleplayer games. The game launched, and it was a disaster. It launched broken, unfinished with tons of bugs, and gameplay issues and online-only connection which was very unstable. It was so much of a disaster, it caused Microsoft to close Arkane Austin in 2024, and caused all future content for the game + live service integration, PREY 2, Dishonered 3 and many other projects to get canned.

Story : This games story is actually not that bad honestly, but it's an basically has the Arkane sterotypes.
You got your supernatural elements, and some weird psychic stuff.

The game follows in Redfall, Massachusetts, an island off the coast as it gets invaded by infection that turned people into Psychic Vampires and causes an massive solar shift, trapping the island in itself, and turning inhabitants into either cultists that worship the Vampire Overlords or demons of the night, with Survivors that stay off the streets. Meanwhile, a PMC Called BellWeather is making it's way onto the island, raising even more questions about involvement.

You start out in Redfall Commons, an fishing town, and your objective is to help the survivors stuck in the city, and kill the Hollow Man who is terrorizing the commons. Once you do that, you make your way to Burial Point, help the survivors go against new bosses such Bloody Tom, and Miss Whisper before fighting the main honcho, The Black Sun.
You play as 4 characters, each with a sorta psychic ability.
Jacob - An former BellWeather Soldier turned PMC, and the events left him with a Vampiric Eye and an Loyal Crow. | Stealth based with an Crow UAV and Cloak, and a Energy Sniper

Devinder - A Cryptozoologist and aspiring inventor, and was on the island to document the Vampire Threat | Crowd Control, uses Electric powers, an Translocator and an portable UV Light.

Layla : College Student in engineering who volunteered for a medical trial where something went very wrong. | Jumpad, Mobile abilities and an Vampire Ex-BF she can summon to help in combat.

Remi - A Combat engineer who has spent her life on the frontlines and is determined to help rescue Redfall’s survivors. | Healing Abilities and an drone to summon in battle.
(There was ment to be 2 More survivors but they got scrapped when support dropped, that being a Forest Ranger with a Bow and a Prisoner character)

The story isn't really that interesting, but the themes are cool. The idea being that a Pharmacudical company was doing trials only to make a sorta weird hivemind infection, and just ended up causing the world to almost end.
It gets really uninsteresting though due to the lack of cutscenes. The game's narrative isn't animated, you got stillframe cutscenes with diolouge, as if they lost their budget halfway through and makes it seem cheap.
Also, the game ends after you kill the boss. You get an ending with a cliffhanger, No traveling back to Commons or postgame, just back to the menu and do a NG+.

Story gets and 6/10
I was invested, the game's story is pretty good but the game doesn't offer much replayablility unless your playing the other characters.

Gameplay : Ohhh boy...
On Launch, this game was a mess, AI was broken, gameplay was busted and was missing content. Also unstable servers.
The game was fixed up a lot since launch, they added tons of fixes and content, and also added Neighborhood Watch systems where you get overworld and player upgrades as you do side missions. And added an OFFLINE MODE to play the game! There is a nasty bug where it can't connect to it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ servers and the menu is busted, (fixes in other reviews) so they added an Offline mode for people to play solo, so it's sorta just an Sandbox RPG.
However, the game still isn't in a good state. It's still filled with bugs, repetitive gameplay and same NPC types and I had 1 or 2 crashes in my 16 hours. The game suffers a lot of these problems, and I had one before where my HP was at 0 when an enemy executed me but it didn't kill me, so I was stuck floating in midair in a bridge while the vamps just jumped at me lol
It's basically a Pre-Alpha state, it's a full game but it just feels like a Proof of Concept, and the Live Service Elements were never implemented due to the shutdown so it's just kinda stuck in that limbo.

The game is an standard Arkane RPG, you got Psychic Abilities, an linear narrative and guns. lol
Basic Looter elements and exploration systems, with an small map to explore.
You got Human enemies where you can kill them with just normal guns, Demons (Watchers) who can be killed with guns or UVs and Vampires, who can be gunned down but require a takedown or UVs to finalize a kill.
It gets boring quick, as the game is very repetitive as you'll be fighting the same enemies over and over again, or variations of them. It's not as bad as KTJL levels but it kinda follows that.
I enjoyed the gameplay myself though, it's still a bit rough around the edges but I thought the exploration and gunplay was fun.

Sadly, no modding cause of a DRM and COOP doesn't function. So you'd be stuck by yourself,

It's still so damn buggy though. I can't give it a flawless score, as it was abandoned long ago. And it's said as an COOP RPG but literally none of the COOP Elements are even functional anymore, so it's mainly just a Singleplayer RPG. It sucks because I was hoping to play this mess with friends.

Graphics : It has that Arkane styling with it, simular to Dishonored. Where it's cartoony realistic styling.
The visuals are pretty good though, but the maps are a bit empty. The game's screenshots and videos don't lie, this game has some nice visuals.

Now, what can I say about this...?
It's alright.
It's rough around the edges, suffers from some bugs still prevalent and has a few issues but I enjoyed this game. It had some love put into it, as it feels like it had some effort but it shows that enforcing a studio that is known for Singleplayer games for 10+ years to make a MULTIPLAYER LIVE SERVICE GAME does NOT work. It isn't gonna work at the first try, expecially if you just force them to do it or it's their ass, and that Mismanagement is what led to Zenamax being bought out.

If you want a time waster, are curious and are a fan of Arkane games, pick up a key for like, $10 or wait for a sale. If you want a COOP Game to play with friends or something you will spend hours on, go play something else.

I am not entirely sure why this game has so much negative feedback. Is it the best I ever played? No, but it is decent enough. I played way worse that had way better ratings.

The story is decent enough though the exposition is a bit tortured at times though using some clever devices to tell it. The gun play is ok, though the amount of gun options is somewhat limited, but some interesting clever tools for your arsenal exist there too.

My game was one runthrough at the Nightfall(?) difficulty, which is the hardest you can do before you finish the game. Maybe that is the flaw? It is too easy? I just normally play games on the default level, but I had to turn it up. Vampires are a challenge, and some of the bosses are tough. Humans are kind of dumb at times, which is why I turned it up. But not all that much different than some other games with higher ratings.

I played solo, offline, with the Jacob character. He can get quite OP if you choose specific skills to their max, especially one in particular. No spoilers but you will surely figure it out, since you can get most of the skills with a max level and doing all the quests.

Bugs - none that I experienced, though the graphics would get 'muddy' every once in a while (think maybe 5-6 times total in 30+ hours), and simply changing the setting from Epic to High or back fixed it.

You have to get it in a bundle or wait for the retail prices to fall more. At the time i posted this, ITAD says the cheapest it has been is $14-17USD but it was in a couple of bundles. Wait for USD$5 or less on sale, and at that price, I think it is 8+/10. at $14-17 you have to really like vampires ;)

I think there may be some hate around never released DLC content, and Arkane Austin was shuttered by M$. Offline was apparently added later (`24), along with some graphics improvements (`23), and the ability to pause, so take some older reviews with that frame of reference.

Cuando salio este juego era un desastre, afortunadamente yo lo jugue cuando ya estaba todo resuelto y terminado. Desafortunadamente el estudio cerro porque la explotacion laboral y la presion a los trabajadores hizo que entregaran un producto incompleto, asi que el chivo expiatorio fueron los trabajadores del estudio.
El juego es divertido ahora y mas si puedes jugarlo con amigos.

No se como fue de salida, es un juego estilo farcry pero mas orientado al cooperativo, lo estoy jugando offline y me parece divertido, me e encontrado con pocos bugs la verdad, es una lastima lo mal que le fue, como singleplayer podria haber tenido un gran potencial, la historia tiene puntos muy interesantes, las localizaciones te invitan a explorar, los personajes me parecen originales, en fin una lastima lo mal que lo encararon. Lo recomiendo con un descuento, es divertido y te pasas un buen rato.

dev team is gone, say goodbye to any update/content you were hoping for. those 2 new characters that were semi shown at the start of launch, say goodbye, youll never know their names.

story felt ok. progression felt unneeded at times with the random scaling of enemies. gunplay was okay, sometimes the weapon would look like it would hit but somehow doesnt. theres odd weapon bloom if you can call it that. side missions felt like random little errands that didnt give much or desire to do. collectibles were a ♥♥♥♥♥, some were only in some missions and others would sometimes glitch and might not be possible to collect. lacks replayability, other charcacters arent as fun or good like jacob. once you finish the first area/leave, you can never go back and finish something you may have forgotten todo, even after you beat the game. boss fights were pretty cool ngl, felt like a good borderlands raid boss or d2 nf/strike. finale boss felt like a complete pushover and joke compared to anything else in the game, never felt so disgusted to finally be at the end and it just be over with little fight.

4/10, lot left to desire and be better. maybe someday someone will pick it up where it left off. the ending that was a cliffhanger to what looks like would be a dlc or story pack will never get released or shown. gg. youd get your moneys worth and time spent of fun by getting avatar the complete edition then this game basic

Ripetitivo, vuoto e dimenticabile

Ho voluto dare una possibilità a Redfall, anche dopo il suo lancio disastroso, sperando che con le patch fosse diventato un titolo solido. Purtroppo, al netto dei miglioramenti tecnici, resta un gioco estremamente ripetitivo e pressoché vuoto di sostanza.

Il gameplay ricorda moltissimo Borderlands: scegli tra alcuni personaggi, ognuno con il proprio albero delle abilità, e durante l’avventura raccogli armi di rarità diversa con statistiche casuali. Sulla carta può funzionare, ma qui manca completamente il carisma e la profondità che rendono quel sistema interessante. Tutto sembra già visto, senza alcuna personalità.

La struttura delle missioni è monotona: vai in un’area, elimina nemici, raccogli oggetti, ripeti. Dopo poche ore diventa evidente quanto il mondo di gioco sia povero e poco stimolante da esplorare. La mappa sembra grande, ma è sostanzialmente vuota e priva di momenti memorabili.

La trama è incredibilmente debole, tanto che l’ho abbandonato proprio perché non mi ha preso minimamente. Non ci sono vere cutscene, ma solo pseudo-scene in game con modelli statici mentre una voce narrante (dal punto di vista del personaggio scelto) racconta ciò che sta accadendo. Questo approccio spezza completamente il coinvolgimento e rende tutto piatto.

Anche sul piano tecnico, nonostante i miglioramenti, rimangono problemi evidenti: le animazioni dei nemici, soprattutto quelle dei vampiri, hanno momenti di “rottura” e risultano legnose o glitchate, rovinando ulteriormente l’immersione.

Sì, oggi è un titolo giocabile. Può persino divertire per un paio d’ore, magari qualcosa in più se giocato in compagnia. Ma nella sostanza non offre nulla di davvero interessante o memorabile, e la noia arriva in fretta.

Peccato, perché l’idea di base poteva avere del potenziale. Ma allo stato attuale, Redfall è un’occasione sprecata.

No sé por qué, pero por algún motivo a mi juego de un jugador le falta su dosis permanente de acceso a internet. ¡¿COMO?! ¡¿CÓMO se les ocurre!? Se me queda el juego cargando con el mensaje de "conectando" y un "acuerdo actualizado" de fondo, sin que pueda interactuar, porque se me está conectando. Qué porquería inmunda y asquerosa. Una cosa es que el juego sea una porquería y otra es no poder jugar esa porquería.

До сих пор ни разу не писал обзоры в Steam, но решил, что в случае с Redfall это необходимо сделать. Дело в том, что, по моему мнению, разрыв между тем, какую критическую оценку получила игра, и тем, что она собой в реальности представляет, просто катастрофический и очень несправедливый.

В целом, как известно, Redfall полностью провалился в продажах, а Arkane Austin, разработчик игры, был из-за этого закрыт спустя год. Redfall не пинал только ленивый, общее мнение такое, что это недоделано, совершенно неиграбельно и не заслуживает никакого внимания. Поэтому я вообще не собирался покупать и играть в это. Но, поскольку все остальные игры Arkane мне зашли хорошо, а это по-видимому их последний FPS, то всё же решил купить на распродаже и попробовать поиграть. Ещё так получилось, что играл в Redfall я сразу после прохождения другого FPS 2023-го года, сделанного по известному фильму Пола Верховена, и тоже начинающегося на "R". И вот играю я в Redfall и ничего не понимаю: Redfall превосходит этот "R" абсолютно по всем параметрам, но при этом "R" имеет очень положительные отзывы на Steam и 76 баллов от Metacritic (у Redfall 53 балла). Как так-то? У каждой из этих игр разные, не пересекающиеся аудитории? У меня удовлетворительного ответа нет. Предполагаю, что игроки ничего не ждали от Teyon, а в их игру, как оказалось, даже можно поиграть, и в то же время от Arkane ждали шедевр, но Redfall не дотянул. В общем, лично мне очень обидно, что Refall так опустили, а студию закрыли.

Я даже консультировался с AI, он утвеждает, что провал Redfall - это следствие технических проблем и неправильного маркетинга. Возможно, действительно эта игра не очень хороша для прохождения в кооперативе. Я играю соло и спустя 3 года после выхода, и как по мне это почти шедевр. Кстати, играл за Джейкоба, и вроде бы это как раз тот персонаж, который обеспечивает наилучший игровой опыт.

Плюсы, которые особо хочется отметить:
1. Как и всегда у Arkane визуальный дизайн. Это 10 из 10. Визуально всё очень детально проработано, очень красиво и имеет свой оригинальный стиль.
2. Геймплей как таковой: мир интересно исследовать, а сражения с врагами доставляют удовольствие. Сюжетно игра разделена на две игровые зоны, причём вторая зона примерно в полтора раза больше первой и более насыщена NPC, поэтому с продвижением по сюжету играть всё интереснее и интереснее.
3. Суперспособности Джейкоба, особенно невидимость и призрачная винтовка. После прокачки ими очень приятно пользоваться, и это дополнительно разнообразит игровой процесс.
4. Автоматическая штурмовая винтовка "Образец заурядности". С момента, когда Джейкоб её получил примерно в середине игры, бой с культистами, наёмниками Барракуды и вампирами стал доставлять особое удовольствие.

Минусы:
1. Самый серьёзный недостаток: игра постоянно вылетает, то есть внезапно закрывается с ошибкой и предложением отослать репорт в Microsoft. Это особенно раздражает на фоне того, что ты не можешь сохраниться в любой момент, а значит миссию надо начинать сначала. После очередного вылета вроде бы даже начинаешь в какой-то степени понимать хейтеров. Однако! По совету AI отключил Масштабирование (Upscaling) в настройках графики - и всё, вылеты прекратились.
2. Кат-сцены, которые вместо привычного видеоролика представляют собой статичные изображения, пусть и стильно нарисованные, в сочетании с закадровым текстом. В этот момент понимаешь, что разработчикам не хватило времени до даты релиза, чтобы сделать всё в совершенстве, и они решили пожертвовать наименее существенной частью.
3. Всего три кнопки для быстрого выбора оружия. Трёх видов оружия не хватает, хочется хотя бы четыре, а иногда и пять. В Call of Duty и Halo это такая принципиальная концепция, часть игрового процесса: игрок должен учитывать, что у него одномоментно всего два вида оружия, и соответственно с этим подстраивать свою тактику. Но в Redfall это не является частью концепции, поскольку в любую секунду можно полезть в рюкзак (игровой процесс в это время стоит и ждёт) и достать тот вид оружия, который нужен именно сейчас. То есть иногда приходится во время боя прерываться и лезть в рюкзак, хотя правильнее было бы нажать 4 или 5 в дополнение к 1, 2 или 3.

Резюме:
Увлекательная и очень недооценённая игра, абсолютно не заслуживающая настолько низких оценок. Технические проблемы к текущему моменту в основном решены, а геймплей с самого начала был хорош. 9 баллов из 10.

Tried to give this game an honest shot. its definitely not the worst game ive played, but for me this game struggles to captivate. the enemy ai isnt good and there just isnt enough substance to make this game interesting enough to keep playing. which is a shame cuz a game like this couldve been a good 10-15hrs of fun maybe with friends if there was just more to it.

La propuesta es clara: eliges un personaje (sí, hay protagonista femenina y un elenco con personalidad), sales a cazar vampiros y cultistas en un pueblo que grita “New England, pero con colmillos”, y alternas entre explorar, lootear y limpiar zonas. La primera impresión es… curiosa: hay ideas buenas y una ambientación que intenta, pero el juego se empeña en recordarte que su mejor modo tal vez sea el cooperativo, y aun así el mundo se siente extrañamente vacío para un “mundo abierto”.

Redfall es el tipo de juego que te vende una fantasía deliciosa: cazar vampiros en un mundo abierto con amigos, disparos en primera persona, poderes y vibra sobrenatural. Y sí, hay momentos donde la ambientación y el concepto se alinean y piensas: “ok, aquí hay algo”. Pero luego el ritmo cae, la IA se porta como extra mal pagado y el mundo abierto se siente más como “mundo… abierto… pero sin mucha vida”.

Lo más controversial: para un título con ADN cooperativo, ver [b]7 jugadores actuales[/b] es como invitar a una fiesta y que lleguen dos y uno sea tu primo. [h3]Half-finished and laughably bad[/h3]

If this was from an indie studio, I would give a more optimistic review; however, this is from Microsoft, so I'll do no such thing.

I'll start with the combat. It feels floaty. I tried adjusting the sensitivity, dead zones, aim assist, etc., but nothing I tried seemed to help. It almost felt like the gameplay settings were added in the last moments before release and don't actually adjust anything. They are just for show.

And then there's the enemy AI. It's terrible. I have played indie games from 10 years ago that put this game to shame. Also, in just 1 hour of gameplay, I had 2 separate encounters with enemies that were invisible. I had to run away and bait them to chase me until they eventually popped into the game and I could shoot them.

The story makes little sense; they brush over important questions that anyone would have when first introduced to a new game/world. 'Don't think, just consume content' seems to be the developers' mantra.

The idea behind this game has potential, and the style they went for is also appealing to me, but there's no soul here. No passion. No talent.

Decent game. The story is pretty simple, but the atmosphere is great. Sadly, it starts with a major UI bug, just as you try to start the game for the first time. There are also the occasional crashes, but I've definitely seen worse.
If you find it on sale and you give it a chance, it'll surprise you!

This game while not a great, is not even close to as bad as other people claim it is. It is basically a watered down Borderlands copy. The story itself is somewhat interesting, gunplay feels smooth, and is not filled with non-stop side mission unlike other games of recent times. I honestly would recommend getting it on a deep discount (under 20$) and giving it a fair shot. I had one crash in all my playtime, and that was it. I think people were way too harsh when this released personally.

This game does fall rather short compared to other Arkane titles but if you realise this and can grab the game at a hefty discount then I'd say to give it a shot (just limit your expectations).

I'm playing Solo and to be honest it's the perfect game to throw on if you want to enjoy the classic Arkane art style & scenery without having to think too much.

Redfall is a nicely thought out location, no copy-paste rubbish and there are sections that can become a little tricky if youre not too careful.

As others have described, its a little bit like Far Cry with vamps and id go one further to say its got a hefty Left for Dead vibe as well. It's honestly not as bad as others make out especially after the patches.

Yes it couldve been soo much more but if you want to have a wonder around an environment that to me is a blend of Twin Peaks & Alan Wake, id say dive in.

I understand all the negative reviews; they are mostly based on disappointment.

But in hindsight, if you play with a friend and don’t expect a multiplayer Dishonored, this game is worth $10–15 on sale.

Also, it is an American game. As you should know by now, most American gaming companies have become greedy beyond imagination.
If you want a great game without monetization nonsense and with long-term support (Baldur’s Gate 3 – Belgium, Clair Obscur – France, Enshrouded – Germany), or a great redemption story (No Man’s Sky – Great Britain, Cyberpunk – Poland), you have to buy European. From American studios, you can mostly expect mediocre or bad AAA games with little to no long-term support for single-player titles.

Even within Arkane, the better games came from France, while Austin brought us… well, this.

So check where the game you’re interested in was made and manage your expectations accordingly.

Oh boy. This game was not very good but some might enjoy running around and collecting items while fighting/avoiding vampires. Feels like this game went through dev hell.

Art style isn't for me. I'd describe the character models as ugly fortnite characters. Sometimes it feels kind of creep[y going through dark houses while a vampire taunts you. Then you see him and expect him to break out in a fortnite dance. Not sure what they were going for with this style.

The story is boring. Mostly told through reading notes and seeing some audio/visual logs while exploring. Before missions you get some visual novel cheap scene. Yeah not much effort was made.

Enemy AI is not very smart but you might have a decent time exploring and doing stuff around the map.

Personalmente lo disfrute incluso antes de la última actualización, pero no se puede recomendar comprar un juego inacabado y encima con Denuvo.

Hum, j'arrive après la bataille, après la sortie terrible de Redfall.

Je viens de le découvrir, patché et avec moins de bugs semble-t-il.
Alors le jeu reste assez moyen, même si on peut y passer du bon temps. C'est du shoot, un peu vide qui mise surtout sur la difficulté (relative) des ennemis vampires (les autres, les humains ne sont que des cibles faciles).
On notera une ambiance sonore ma foi fort bonne grâce à un son design efficace. La DA n'est pas dégueu mais la technique à la ramasse déçoit. La technique rend le jeu moche, alors qu'en vérité le jeu a une personnalité.

Les cinématiques n'ont pas eu le droit au budget (des plans fixes avec des dialogues), on les zappera sans culpabilité. L'écriture n'est pas le fort du titre malgré quelques sous intrigues sympa.
Le shoot et les pouvoirs sont chouettes, mais se trouvent ultra limitées si on ne fait le jeu qu'en solo (puisqu'une partie des compétences récompenses le jeu en équipe).

Les armes sont peu nombreuses (dommage dans un jeu où le loot est important) et on tournera quand même souvent sur les mêmes trucs.
Etonnement, le jeu propose une deuxième carte, plus grande (moins dense aussi) dans sa deuxième partie. Moi je pensais le jeu terminé après la première mais en fait non, le jeu est donc relativement long.

Mais on est loin des précédents jeux d'Arkane, Austin ou pas. Difficile pour Redfall de passer après Dishonored ou Prey. C'est même une complète régression et on ressent le fait que le studio ne savait pas quoi faire avec ce jeu. Il y avait sûrement un potentiel, mais il s'est perdu en chemin.
A cela s'ajoute des problèmes mineurs mais bien lourds. Exemple quand on termine une quête on a un popup qui s'ouvre pour nous dire "Quête réussi, blablabla". Appuyez sur Echap ou T pour retournez à la caserne. Le problème c'est que ce popup prend un tiers de l'espace, que vous pouvez avoir fini une quête mais toujours être en combat, et que tant que tu n'appuis pas de manière prolongée sur T ou ECHAP, tu ne peux pas utiliser les pouvoirs car les raccourcis sont désactivés...putain c'est hyper agaçant.

J'en retiens donc uniquement une ambiance plutôt réussi (malgré un humour en décalage, les protagonistes étant très "Forza Horizon style" dès qu'ils ouvrent la bouche). Le scénario aurait mérité d'être approfondi et la partie FPS aurait dû être plus étoffée, ne serait que dans la variété des armes et des approches.

C'est peut être moins un désastre qu'à sa sortie, mais ce n'est pas une pépite digne du studio.

i played it all the way solo , Redfall functions like far cry clone on a smaller scale with borderlands loot system , the reason why its bashed so hardly is due to expectations from Arkane , thats it.

if you are looking for a small open world FPS game with a good gunplay that doesn't take 40+ hours to complete , this should be worth a pick up when its 10$ or so.

Rumor has it even the developers hoped Redfall would be canceled after Microsoft acquired Arkane. It might have been an average L4D knockoff had it been released a decade earlier while Everything Was Vampires but somehow still ended up being kicked out the door unfinished. It's a looter with no reason to loot (why? There is no crafting!) and a shooter with very poor AI and gunplay. It couldn't decide whether to be a live service cult-stomping power fantasy or a coop grind or a single player narrative experience with a storyline straight out of mid 2000s True Blood, complete with over-the-top southern accent narration. I commend the developers for fixing the performance issues and overhauling progression after the game was dead and studio shutdown had been announced but I have to wonder if the effort was worth it. I am determined to beat Redfall because I paid for it and will likely end up with dozens of hours played, but I do not recommend buying this objectively bad game.

It's been some time since the terrible launch and I wanted to see if it was worth playing now that it's gotten some updates. I bought it at a heavily discounted price, so I figured why not. After booting it the main menu, I was given the options to "Enter" to enter Redfall, or "Esc" to leave Redfall. Deciding that, since i had downloaded the game, I wanted to play Redfall, I hit enter. A "Connecting to server" window popped up, and a "Updated Bethesda agreement" window popped up. the only window I could interact with was the "Connecting to server" window. If I hit cancel, I go back to the main menu. But to connect to the server, I have to agree to the agreement. Which I can't do because I'm connecting to the server. I have never seen a more blatant sign from a higher power that i should not play this game.

Heed my warning, fair Adventurer. Do not buy.

This game had an amazing signature Arkane style, a really cool horror-esque setting, an interesting story, and a solid core gameplay idea that could be boiled down to "Far Cry with vampires", but greedy executives screwed everything up by forcing devs to release a half-baked product while trying to follow modern trends for soulless live service games.
I bought this game on sale after they patched everything they could, and after the utter disappointment that is Borderlands 4, Redfall feels like a fun walk among the ruins of what could've been amazing.

I went into this hoping for the best, in spite of how negative everything is surrounding [i]Redfall,[/i] but this really is bad. Before I get really negative, the big highlight for me was the backstory for the world. I wished the main/present narrative would have followed the tone of the "[can't remember the name right now] Echoes" and all of the notes you find around the world. If they'd gone in a more [i]Dishonored[/i] route and made this with a tone that didn't feel like a sh***y Joss Whedon script, I would have enjoyed the plot too. The antagonists have some pretty good lines and have some of the best performances in the whole game.
But that's it. Those are my only positives.

The gunplay is awful. Swapping weapons takes too long, reloading takes too long (even when you get better versions of those guns, the stats barely change except for the DPS), every shot feels like it is RNG on Damage (shotguns especially), vampires hit you even if you're 10 feet away, you get stuck on nothing or fall through the world randomly, climbing is super bipolar, upgrades are mostly useless except for the community perks, and I could go on. Everything feels stupid janky. I ended up sticking with the same 3 guns in my loadout after killing The Hollow Man. The biggest failing of this game is the absence of matchmaking, just an absolutely moronic decision. After you collect 80/100 Grave Locks, the game starts recycling the first 20 Gateway audio diaries. Why even record so much if you weren't gonna fulfil each one? Why have there be ONE-HUNDRED of these things to begin with? Just to pad out the abysmal runtime?

I hated the protagonists. The same 12 quips over and over, mixed with just terrible abilities (I can say though, I can see how each character's powers would be better in co-op, but I have no friends, so that's just a theory). I wanted to take the main cast seriously but the combination of cringe "that just happened"/"first-draft" dialogue and the mediocre performances dragged everything down. I also couldn't take anything seriously due to the crap "cutscene" animatics. They felt cheap. I wish the heroes lost.

i love the aesthetic and the environments are super pretty
there is some jank but after all the updates it plays pretty well imo
super sad they fumbled the launch this game deserved better

Yeah I recommend it, I don't care. The only things that I like about this game are the Fortnite-esque graphics which I'm partial to, and the Fall setting which I'm VERY partial to. Despite the fact this game is an abhorrent abomination, I still appreciate that they did some good here... only SOME. It's bare-bones and awful in ways, but it's got a good atmosphere and I like CHORES. It's a CHORES game. If you like CHORES then Redfall is good. I think it's good.

I bought this back when it came out and then stopped playing it before finishing it once the Development Studio got shutdown by Microsoft.

Great idea, horrible implementation. The game is a buggy mess and has been since Day 1, patches were released but never made it any better. The main story is "ok", but the side missions and safe house missions are boring and repetitive.

Such a shame, could've been a great game but once again got nerfed by Microsoft.

Habs nochmal versucht in 2025. Furchtbar und ja es geht um Vampire somit könnte "furchtbar" hier eigentlich auch ein gutes Attribut sein, aber nein, das Gameplay ist einfach schrecklich und zum davon laufen.
Ich habs mehrfach versucht, es macht einfach keinen Spaß. Bethesda sollte das Ding eigentlich jedem erstatten müssen, auch wenn man über 2 Std. Spielzeit auf Steam hat.
FInger weg, definitiv Finger weg.
Ich hab gedacht, hey negative Reviews sind nicht alles, schauen wirs uns mal, aber nein. Das geht gar nicht, es ist auch komplett auf Koop ausgelegt und macht Solo vermutlich noch viel viel weniger Laune. Es ist wirklich stupide, schlecht insiziniert, die Grafik ist ziemlich mau, das Gameplay ist nicht der Rede wert, die Map ist mau, der Loot ist DA, mehr auch nicht. Es gibt einfach nichts motivierendes am Spiel und wie sich die Vampire und Gegnerhorden im Kampf verhalten nervt einfach nur.
Ciao Arckane Studios, ihr wart mal fähig.

I've loved this game so far, had no issues at all and the game has been really fun.
It's now a completely working game and it's definitely worth playing, it's very unfortunate the terrible release has killed the game because it has so much potential to it and i'd love an expansion/sequel.

After completing the game i have to say the final boss fight was a complete let down, i was expecting more from that fight.

Still loved the game and really disappointing we'll never get a sequel as in its current state it's a really solid and fun game.

Decided to play it again right away with a different character on eclipse from level 1. The beginning feels super hard but after you rack up the community standing it becomes super easy again, bosses are a lot tougher but still beatable as long as you have up to date weapons, last boss once again was a complete disappointment, by far easiest of them all, i disappointed myself hoping for a secret second phase on eclipse but nope. Since some achieves are coop only and i play solo i've given myself them as i complete the story with them, one day i'll come back to the game and do the others but doing 100% runs both times was enough for me for now. Came across a few crash to desktops on fast travelling this time.

Very enjoyable game.

Главный минус этой игры встречаешь уже сразу, на момент входа в игру - это неработающие сервера. Приходится по 5 раз прокликивать кнопку переподключения, пока игра тебе не предложит играть в нее в оффлайн режиме...
В самой игре баги есть, но не то, чтобы противные, один раз игра вылетела

Ничего оригинального в нем нет, но и абсолютным мусором его назвать нельзя. Репетативный, однообразный геймплей, без особых изменений в ходе игры. Некоторые скиллы командные, которые ты попросту не используешь (потому что с тобой в это никто играть не будет). Прокачка довольно скучная, базы по типу Юбисофт игр, пушки разной редкости, ну и все... Импакт от оружия нулевой...
Игра очень сложная - поскольку протерпеть это практически невозможно до конца

[b] Сюжет - 2/10 [/b]
Сюжет подается через статичные картиночки, движение которых анимировано через Power Point. Сам сюжет можно скипать. Персонажи не запоминаются, в основном, все кринжовые и пластилиновые

В целом, рисовка и стилистика в игре прикольная, и это единственный приятный момент здесь, как по мне

Музыка далеко не всегда отражает то, что происходит на экране, да и вообще не попадает в атмосферу (можно без звука играть, так будет лучше)

Вроде как и есть, а вроде как и нет. Вроде игра про вампирскую тему, а ощущается как детский пародийный спектакль. Ночи не такие страшные, как хотелось бы

if you get it dirt cheap its fun enough to blast some vampires, but you can literally point out every inclusion box they were checking off as you play, and the end product suffered for it.

La verdad es que el juego me parece divertido sobretodo para jugarlo con algun amigo como es mi caso, pero entiendo que haya sido un autentico fracaso, ya que aun que ami me funciona bien el juego esta plagado de buggs y con el tiempo que a pasado ni siquiera los han acabado de solucionar, mi amigo tiene un Pc de 3k y cuando jugamos se le cierra el juego de golpe y ami a veces al iniciar no se me conecta a la red, a parte el mapa es pequeño y la historia nada impactante, en fin si teneis la suerte de poder jugarlo sin ningun error quizas te pueda divertir pero no esperes gran cosa, podia a ver sido un gran juego y es un juego normal y con demasiados fallos, no lo puedo recomendar si no es gratis

There's simply no way to recommend this game to anyone outside of a purchase price of $5. The story is bad and told through a series of stillshots like powerpoint slides which totally remove the player from engagement. The characters are bad, not just the character designs but the fact that they have two specific powers that aren't all that fun to even use. The gameplay itself is incredibly bland, the AI being brainless kind of makes the enemy encounters feel dull almost immediately, it's yet another looter shooter leveled system, and the weapons altogether just aren't interesting. If I will give this game any praise for anything, it's that the only semi-decent thing about the game in its entirety is the world design and asset quality. It feels like the environment artists they put in charge were really good at what they do, it's just a shame that their talents were wasted on this game.

this is going to sound crazy but its not bad. i mean its not that good ether but if you get it for like 10 bucks then its A very good deal. i don't know man i had a pretty good time for the price i paid. bring a buddy and it gets a little better.just don't go into it expecting a 10/10. go into it expecting a like 6/10 then you will have a better time.

Redfall is basically Far Cry 3 but with vampires.

Recently picked it up for $20 on sale on Steam and I wouldnt recommend buying it for anything over that price. I had heard about the awful reviews and bugs and hate, but I have a bit of a love for trashy games.

So I decided to check it out and honestly, it felt like playing an xbox 360 game.

There are

Open world map with safehouses you need to reclaim and a tonne of collectable items.
Leveling up/perk system thats very basic
Loot system that is just the same guns but higher damage and maybe one perk on it that makes it good
Go to A, kill enemies, basically being the bulk of your missions
Awkward terrain traversal/platforming

It should be noted though that the game was updated to be playable offline.

By the time I played I didnt get any noticeable bugs or glitches other than the game crashing once when I fast travelled and a collectible item (cosmetics) being stuck at 99% even though i had collected all of them (tbh this one really pissed me off despite being inconsequential, there wasnt even an achievement for 100% collection i just hated seeing it not completed).

Surprisingly decent variety of enemies too, you have your regular humans but there are different factions. Basic thugs, mercenaries and cultists, alongside vampires.

The vampires have special types like the angler that pulls you to them with a hook, or the shroud that obscures your vision by dropping a ring of smoke around you that moves with you so you have to run around until you run into the shroud so you can kill them (they throw ranged attacks at you thankfully so thats how you track them).

Least favourite vampire type was the siphon that basically tethers to you and starts draining your health and only way to break it is to either down him or break line of sight.

This one really ♥♥♥♥♥ you over in open areas but luckily i picked the character that ended up being the most broken (Devinder).

The a.i isnt anything special, they shoot, they flank, they rush, they run, what youd expect from enemy ai but the challenge mostly comes from the vampires bum rushing you at melee range while the humans shoot at you from afar.

The human enemies are oddly deep for being throwaway goons, you can hear them talking to each other and theyll talk about selling out their friends and families to the vampires to survive.

Some feel guilt, others wanted power, others were just using this as a chance to off of someone they didnt like. Even weirder they'll often cry out when you kill their allies, get used to hearing "that was my friend you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!" when ever you kill someone.

I played on the 2nd hardest difficulty which is midnight, the hardest difficulty is locked behind eclipse which you need to beat the game once to unlock.

Overall there is enough variety of enemies for the game to feel fresh throughout your playthrough, which shouldnt be long.

I essentially 100%'ed the game collecting everything and doing every mission and sidequest and it still only took a little over 20 hours.

I managed to bang this out over a weekend and a friday.

The story is all style and no substance, cool premise but there arent even any animated cutscenes.

The cutscenes are literally just slideshows with someone narrating over them.

There is some cool lore and environmental story telling but the problem is that its all in codexs and journals lying around and i find that the laziest form of story telling.

Even more dissapointing is how dark the game actually is, but it loses its oomph when its all in written text.

For example a family lured another family member back home so they could kill her and use her blood in a ritual to become vampires.

You can even find the body in the basement, despite that because you read it the impact is lessened imo.

Another scene has a soldier torture a nurse begging for her life, where they put her in a kiddie pool and electrocute her until she dies.

But its done in this weird spirit flashback way so alot of the heaviness is lost.

Its this weird tonal whiplash that kinda shocked me at first cos you have Devinder talking about "what up youtube its ya boi again fighting eldritch horrors and ♥♥♥♥, welcome back to innocents massacred monday" and then they hit you with the above.

Speaking of Devinder, hes basically a streamer who chases after the paranormal.

I had heard alot about the "millenial" writing in this game, about how its cringe and very "hes right behind me, isnt he?" styled.

But honestly, I didnt really see much of it, granted i only played Dev but he was actually quite morose after the initial opening of the game.

Spoiler alert but basically the vampires became vampires because a girl had special blood that gave people super powers.

The game tries to science it up but its basically magic if were being real.

Doctors come along, convince her to use her blood to help others, realise her power, and bleed her dry and use the blood to turn themselves into vampire gods.

Dev's character arc (what little there is) basically goes from guy whos giddy about discovering real vampires, to guy who wants to avenge this girl who suffered and he becomes much more serious.

Simple but effective, and the voice acting was really good. As for the other characters I dont know, maybe they suck, but Dev was cool.

The setting is real unique, and I really loved the environment, seeing these new england style houses really tickled me for some reason.

unfortunately the game has two maps. Map 1 you kill the first boss. map 2 has 3 bosses.

Why they split this up I do not know but for some reason you CANT GO BACK TO THE FIRST MAP ONCE YOU LEAVE.

It does warn you about this so i did everything before leaving but why even do this?

The loot system sucks ass im gonna be straight up. Basically the same 5 guns except yellow is the best colour and grey is the worst, ground breaking stuff.

Im not gonna lie i put drum and bass music playlist 24/7 on the background and kinda just zoned out playing this, it was kinda like i was in a trance (kinda ironic cos in this game being a vampire is called being under the blood trance).

And i enjoyed it, dont get me wrong this ♥♥♥♥ is not even close to a masterpiece, hell im even hesitant to say its good, but despite it all, i still had fun in a way.

I can genuinely say I liked playing this, (NOT AS A CO-OP HUGE BUG THE GAME CRASHES ON CO-OP ONCE YOU HIT MAP 2 AND IT NEVER GOT FIXED).

Like if this came out in the state it is now with all the bugs patched and ai fixed in 2012, i could see it being a hit.

Truth be told its just an old game, that just hasnt evolved, but i was feeling nostalgic and thats what this game did.

I wouldnt recommend this game, im not deluded into thinking people would like playing a game that was time capsuled from the early 2010's into 2023 but I think sometimes you run into a game thats emulating the right era and your mind is in the right time frame and it just clicks.

Overall I think the hate RedFall got was justified on release, but as it is now, its a fun quaint little throwback.

Fun little side notes

. Apparently werewolves exist in this world

. theres 100 audio file collectibles called grave locks but only 84 recordings made, so for the last 16 they just pick a random audio file youve already discovered and play that

. the girl whos blood made the vampires spirit arrives at the end as a spirit and thanks you, but shes stuck in limbo untill all vampires die, which is kinda hell when you think about it and also sequel bait

. the female vampires in this game are so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hot i swear to god

. this would be arkane austins last game before they got shut down

Потрясающая игра и PEAK геймдизайна Arkane - стоит каждой потраченной копейки и каждой потраченной секунды в нее. Очень качественный и богатый лор, сильная драма с девочкой Эмили в середине игры, потрясающая нарративная составляющая, грамотная подача сюжета, крайне разнообразный и богатый на бэнгеры саундтрек, харизматичнейшие персонажи, которые очень вплотно вплетены в сюжетку, живой открытый мир, запоминающиеся боссы, требующие индивидуального подхода и обмозгования тактики, иммерсивность в каждом задании и приятная стрельба с чувствительным импактом, в общем отличная игра, не понимаю почему все так рвутся.

Спасибо Леночке Усаги за то, что разделила со мной эти увлекательные мгновения.
