I tried playing this game for little over an hour and came to a realization that I suck at it. Even the achievements seem rather off-putting and insanely hard for a noob like me. As someone who's not experienced with Tetris or games of this genre I can't really compare it to anything. The game got some negative reviews and understandably so but you need to lower your expectations since for less than a euro (on sale) you can't expect a masterpiece. At least, it has a few gamemode you can choose from, by that I mean, some effort has been put into this game.

В целом на полчасика меня хватило, но залипать уж точно не захотелось, хотя контент для упорных есть. Верю, что игра найдет своих поклонников, но я таковым не стал. Не понравилось.

いかに多くの玉をくっつけるか、連鎖できるかが重要となっていく。
時々降ってくるダイヤで同じ色の玉を消せるという逆転要素が追加されている。
…"基本"と言ったのは実は訳があり…？（後述）
ゲーム内容としては、
一人でじっくりプレイしたり、CPやローカルで対戦ができる「アーケード」
他のライバルを順番に倒していく「トーナメント」
次々に現れる相手を倒して何連勝できるか競う「エンドレス」
パズルを解いて高得点を目指す「パズル」の4つが収録されている。
しかし「パズル」モードを除いて、ルールの改変も選択可能で…？
評価点
・「ぷにっきぃず」フォロワーでは終わらないゲームシステム。
「パズル」モードを除き、細かなルールを変更して遊ぶことができる。
その内容もおじゃまの種類を変える、ゲームスピードが上がらないなど設定以外にも、ゲームシステムを変えるルールも用意されている。
これが肝で「マッチ4」ルールでは、あの「ぷよぷよ通」に似たルールに改編でき、
「1スター」ルールでは、上ボタンで星の玉に変更して同じ色の繋がっている玉を起爆できるという「ポチっとにゃ～」風のルールに改編できる。
「マッチ4」から派生して、おじゃまを色のブロックに変えてぷよ15thの「こおりづけ」の1ターン解凍に似たルールに、
おじゃまを消すと色のブロックになるルールにすれば「ぱずるだま」に似たルールに改編できる。
「トーナメント」モードは最初はぷにルールしか選べないが、ノーマル以上を1回でもクリアすると、ルールの変更が可能に。
1つのゲームルールで終わらせていないところが大きな評価点となります。
・キャラクターが複数おり、特定のスピードレベルを達成すると衣装が変化する、
ブロックを置くとフィールドに砂煙が出るなど、演出には凝っている。
・日本語未対応ではあるものの、ルールやキャラ背景が分かりづらい程度なので遊ぶ分には特に問題ない。
問題点
・スピードレベルがMAXになると、常に最高速で玉が落ちるので非常に操作しにくい。
これの弊害をもろに受けるのが「エンドレス」モードで、スピードレベルの調節が"不可能"となっている。
常に最高速で落ちるブロックを操作して、強敵に勝たないといけない。
・ゲームを抜けるたびにルールやフィールド・音楽設定がリセットされるので、再度同じルールに設定するのが面倒。
ただの1つの落ち物パズルゲームフォロワーと思いきや、
その実態は複数のルールも実装した落ち物パズルゲームフォロワー集だった、という驚かせる仕様の作りになっている作品。
安い時にはかなりお手頃価格で購入できますので、低価格で落ち物パズルゲームを遊び方にうってつけです。

Então, um puzzle que muita gente compara com o Puyo Puyo de forma errônea, embora ele de fato tenha essa semelhança, ele é bem mais próximo de Puzzle Fighter do que de Puyo Puyo.
No geral é um puzzle bastante competitivo e bem divertido, vale bastante a pena.
O jogo costuma pegar preços bem baixos em promoção, se achar esse jogo em promoção, compre.
I'm pretty sure I found this game by accident, but it's a happy lil accident for a happy lil game. This is a pretty small game so my review will be shorter than my others.
Raining Blobs is a puzzle game that is akin to Puyo Puyo meshing with Puzzle fighter. You will connecting blobs to each other and the only way to pop them is to have two star icons be in the connecting blobs. This means you can make some pretty fun combos and explosions if you get you placement right. It's very easy to pick up and play.
The game comes with four modes: Arcade is a standard play alone or against AI for high score. Tournament is the "story mode" which is pretty bare bones, but finishing it unlocks costumes and a character upon completing it. Endless mode is...well...endless mode so you can just play until you lose. And puzzle mode is you trying to full clear a stage with a set amount of moves. For such a small game, there is plenty to do.
My gripes with this game are that even though you can set up to 16 players to fight simultaneously, this game only has couch co-op. You can circumvent this with remote play, but it could desperately use an online mode. Second, being that this is also a mobile game, it's very bare bones in its design. Characters are just flat drawings that lack substance or "omph". The stages and music are pretty alright though surprisingly.
Final verdict? If you're looking for a fun puzzle game to play with a couch buddy or against the AI, this is not a bad game to add to your library. However, I recommend getting it on sale as there really isn't much here to warrant a 10 dollar purchase. I say it's worth more like 5 or less. Thanks for reading!
This is definitely a good game for those for seek a challenging puzzle match game thingy, haven't played one in years so I figured doing the tournament on Normal was a good way to get back into it, it was until I got smacked in the back of the head by a non-family-friendly-item 11 times in a row (love the ability to continue endlessly so I can get my rear end pounded by the machine at an accelerated rate). 10/10 best 2$ I ever spent to hurt my thumb with !!

I recently got really into Puzzle Fighter (and Magical Drop as a side note), but I was looking for something with a little more game play time in rounds. This is exactly it. During tournament mode I sometimes had to pull through 4-5 minute rounds as opposed to Puzzle Fighter where it is usually only a minute or so. If you are coming from these past games I have to warn you that this game requires a little more long term placement than the others. You will get wrecked if you only break 3-5 blocks at a time because the CPU will be setting up to drop 150 garbage blocks your way (don't worry though, they wont drop all at once.) The switch up of needing to use two activation blocks to break other blocks will take a bit of time to get used to, but in the long term it feels like it bumps the use of strategies a bit. My only real complaint is that there isn't much in the visuals department. The characters art design feels Deviant Art tier (which has its charm I suppose), but there really isn't much when it comes to visual rewards for getting a good combo unless you drop a huge one and even at that it's lacking. The only other visual you get on your back drop is when the blocks periodically start dropping faster and you see a falling animation. Other than that this game is a good addition to a niche genre and I highly recommend it if it seems like something you are looking for.

At a passing glance, Raining Blobs (RB) could come off as a Puyo copy, but the gameplay is more complicated than matching four pieces together. Instead, it plays more like Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo for the PSX, where any amount of pieces can be destroyed, but only by an activating piece. Even that isn't exactly the same, as RB requires two activators to trigger the destruction of pieces, instead of only one. It may seem insignificant, but this makes the game more difficult, as it adds another variable you have to keep track of, and requires constant double-checking.
[h1]Gameplay[/h1]
There are four game modes in RB, one of which I'll save for a later section. In Arcade Mode, your objective is to make it to level 100, with levels increasing as you clear blobs. For Puzzle Mode, the field has blobs scattered around, and using only one piece, you have to clear the entire screen. Again, your aim is to beat 100 rounds. A key problem is one piece limits how many unique puzzles can be made, and it becomes repetitive. Another problem is that all the pieces fall constantly, so you have to solve each in a short time limit. Both of these constraints go against the spirit of most puzzle modes, which tend to focus on complex set-ups with precise solutions. Unlike the other modes that stop after you reach an objective, in Endless Mode it only stops when you quit, or your pieces reach the ceiling. You can play either by yourself or vs mode.
What I think hurts the game most is an insufficient learning curve. Unless you're already quite good at RB, which is unlikely with its unique mechanic, you'll get destroyed by AI that's supposed to represent the baseline. I beat tournament mode on normal difficulty, using nine continues, but I felt overwhelmed and panicked. It wasn't uncommon for me to set off what felt like a great play that should devastate the opponent and still lose, while winning rounds where I thought I did terribly. To be fair, I don't have the same level of experience in RB as I do other puzzlers, but I have very little sense for how my opponent was doing, and what I did that worked well, or didn't.

One positive about RB is that you can play with either a keyboard or controller, and I found the controller functioned just fine. Oddly enough, one of the face buttons is used to bring up the menu. Aside from that though, everything about the controls made sense to me.

The mode I haven't yet addressed, Tournament Mode, would more accurately be Story Mode, based on the opening and ending scenes, and how you progress against all the other characters. Either way, you'll select one of the nine characters, and subsequently beat all the others. However, though it puts up the general presentation of a story, all that really carries it is some trash talk. After beating the last person, your character does something nice for the others, and they're all friends again. As far as I can tell, the reason they fought in the first place is because a robot woman wants to break up their friendship, because... robot logic? I suppose it could be argued this is the reason for calling it Tournament Mode[/b], but with all the hallmarks of a story that's simply underdeveloped, I think it's been named oddly.

[h1]Visuals[/h1]
RB's visuals is made up of pixels, and most things look pretty good. The nine different backgrounds make good use of color, and the titular blobs look fully round, and are shaded. However, I don't think the characters look great. In spite of having different hair color and outfits, their designs blend together to me. For instance, they all appear to be the same height, age, similar body shapes, skin tones, etc. There isn't enough here to showcase their personalities or passions, such as a more developed story mode or voice acting, so they don't stand out strongly amongst one another. Many puzzlers have excelled in this department, while RB seems drab by contrast.
[h1]Sound Design[/h1]
I really like the soundtrack in RB. Most of the songs have a nice blend of percussion and upbeat rhythms. The basis of the music makes me think of earlier console chiptunes, and it gives the music a 'funky' vibe I enjoy. There's not much to comment on regarding SFX, but nothing struck me as an annoying sound.

🌟 When selecting a game mode, it's possible to change the rules and mechanics. One variant makes it a Puyo game, and the other reduces the number of activators from two to one.

🔍 If you have problems solving Puzzle Mode, play against the AI, as you can watch and copy them. This is certainly easier said than done with how quickly they move, but it's a theoretical strategy.
🔍 With how difficult the AI is, I'd suggest starting on Easy difficulty.

Unfortunately, the impression I get from RB is that at a certain point, instead of fully developing the content in a way that would make sense, it simply ended at some point. For instance, the scant amount of dialogue and story points presented in Tournament Mode. It's not like it's difficult programming-wise to flesh out the personalities of the characters you make, or add more exposition so we have any idea what's going on in the story. If you're craving a puzzler with something new to offer, RB's unique mechanics may satisfy that urge, especially when looking at Steam exclusively. Plus, in RB's defense, it has been made by a single person, whereas the other games I'm referencing have been made by teams. However, it shows the importance of fine-tuning the details, and making sure all elements are well polished. Overall, I think it's lacking in key areas for me to recommend this title.

美少女版噗呦噗呦。消除同色需要连上2颗白星球。
各个方面功能都挺齐全的，提示也非常友好，很适合新手玩。
根据噗呦噗呦老版本老套路，左右堆满，只留下中间一条竖线，然后简单操作就可以实现多重连消。一招鲜吃遍天。
游戏最后有个隐藏角色，是黑长直的大胸妹。
玩法和系统方面都不错，还很亲切的加入了上局回放功能。

A real hidden gem for those who enjoy similar Puyo Puyo, Puzzle Fighter or similar titles. The only one of its kind (that I'm aware of) that has a coop mode. Highly recommended. One small drawback is that there is no online multiplayer but the remote play feature works fine to help address this.
いわゆる「落ち物パズル」で、ルールはカプコンがアーケードでリリースした「ぷにっきいず」と同等。
同色のつながっているブロックの中に★入りのブロックが2つ入ることによってその色のブロック群がすべて消えるというものです。
他のルールもいくつかあり、ぷよぷよと同等のものやポチッとにゃ～の分岐システムが無くなったものみたいなルールも遊ぶことができます。
対戦は8人まで(COMを入れると16人まで)可能。
1人用モードも通常の対戦協力モード、Lv100までの1人耐久モード、トーナメントモード、エンドレスモード(対戦)とパズルモードと豊富です。
COMとの対戦に関しては連鎖が組めない人お断りな印象を受けました。逆に組める人だと若干ヌル目かもしれません。
どうしても消すのに★ブロックが必要なのでツモに左右されがちですが、対戦はおじゃまブロックが落下するまで猶予がかなりあるのでその間に起爆に必要な★ブロックはツモれると思います。（それでも来ないことはありますが・・・）
対人対戦は未プレイなので戦略とかはわかりません。

画面が非常に賑やかになり楽しい。
ぷよぷよライクではあるものの石が消える条件が特殊であり、「同グループ内に☆石が2個存在すると消える」というもの。
同じ色を4個つなげても消えないため注意が必要。
立ち絵のドット絵のクオリティは近年まれに見るほどであり、イラストブックがあれば買いたかったほど。
長らくローカルマルチのみだったが、steam側の対応でオンラインマルチ化できたためようやく日の目を見ることに。
セール時だと200円ほどで買えるため、気軽にぷよぷよライクで対戦できるのも魅力。

This is a Magic Jewelry(a nes game) copy. Unfortunately it is a really poor copy and it fails to capture the magic (pun intended) of the NES game. Some game mechanics get in the way and ruin any enjoyment.

+ Has a puzzle mode where you get the same pieces every time you play it

- People just will not shut up about this game being a Puyo clone. Sure it has the match 4 rule but that's not the only way to play

このゲームのルールは２つで１組になっているブロックを落下させ
同じ色で連結し消していくゲーム。
これだけ聞くと「ぷよぷよかな？」とも思えるが
消える条件が少しややこしい。
連結させたブロックの中に星が付いたブロックを
２つ連結させる事でようやく消すことが出来る。
つまり星が無い同色の塊を延々とくっ付ける事も可能だし
星ブロックを２つくっ付けるだけでも消せる。

◎耐久モードについて
上記のルールでブロックの消し延々と続け、

初期レベルでは色の種類が4種類あるが
レベルアップすると6・7種類まで増える。
ぷよぷよですら５色の連鎖は難しくなると言うのに
7まで増えたらどうしようもない。
また星ブロックが来なければ消せないと言うゲーム性から、
延々と無印の色ブロックが固まると言う事態に陥る。
どう足掻いても絶望と言うツモだらけの恐怖は
バランスの悪さを感じる。
◎対CPUモードについて
これは対戦モードとなり
連鎖をすることで相手にお邪魔を送りつけるポピュラーな形。
と思いきや個数計算が他落ち物ゲームと異なる。
個数*連鎖数(同時消しも含む)のお邪魔が相手に送りつけられるため
数がインフレする。
10個のブロックを5連鎖目で消したら50個のお邪魔が増える。
当然1連鎖目2連鎖目の分も加算されてなので
これだけで100個のお邪魔はザラ。
一応救済で4つ以上のブロックを消さなければ
とりあえずお邪魔は降らないルールになっている。
とは言え降らないだけでどんどん相手からストックされる。
そしてストック100を超えると時間制限が発生し
０になると降ってくるので猶予（）と言うバランスの悪さ。
間違って４つ消して即死なんて言う日にはコントローラーを投げる。
しかもエンドレス対戦になると、
自分のゲームレベルのみ増加。
耐久モードと同じく色の種類が増え、
6色まで増えた日にはお邪魔の調整なんぞ効く余裕はない。
◎パズルモードについて
・ ・ ・よくわがんにゃい。

辛うじてお勧めになる感じ。
上記では酷評しているものの、

セール時は80%OFFなどで、つまみ食いするレベルでの購入はお勧め。
Great party game (although you can play alone too), working fine on linux with controllers and/or keyboard.
You can add as many as 15 bots to play against, selecting their difficulty. There is also an endless and a puzzle mode (where you get pre-defined stages that you have to clear), everything can be played alone or with friends/bots.
Don't expect animated battles but the girls are cute :)
Wanted to play Puyo Puyo. Was highly expecting this was the same as Puyo Puyo. But a tweak in its gameplay (colors need to have stars first before they can be popped) ruined it for me. Not that I don't like a new challenge, it's just that I want to play Puyo Puyo's gameplay as it is. So yeah, I refunded.
But yeah, for those less lazy than me, cool game.
I bought this game after getting frustrated at level 7-10 of Puyo Puyo Tetris, I wasn't expected much more than a brief reprieve from my Puyo fever, but this game is a gem. If you like blobs-raining-down-from-the-sky-match type games this is an easy purchase you won't regret. The endless arcade is challenging, and despite having a similar aesthetic to Puyo it definitely has its own unique play style and feel to it. Buy it.

This game is exceptionally well polished, but it doesn't really explain to me what I'm supposed to do.
Local 2 Player which works wonderfully from a technical perspective was boring to me and my friend because we sat there dropping blobs endlessly until we quit out of boredom... what is supposed to be so satisfying about this... I don't know... maybe they need a better tutorial and strategy guidance for newer players.
If you are a real strategist and already know these games I'm sure you'll like this one. If you're newer to the genre then pass on this one because the game isn't really fully formed and self-contained for a player coming with no experience like myself.
edit: Upon reflection I decided to flip the thumb up. If you read what I wrote and you still buy I'm 100% sure you will love the game.
edit2: Look at the comments to this review... The dev is right here minutes after I posted this trying to help me out. What more do you need to know? I'm more confident in a thumbs up than even before. I'll move this out of my Hidden Games and into my "waiting" folder to see what future updates bring in terms of helping me learn.
Отличная аркада наподобие super puzzle fighter и puyo puyo. В плане игрового процесса игра просто идеальна но вот с оформлением косяки, половина арта хорошая а другая фуфло какое то. Даже на скринах можно увидеть насколько они контрастируют. Благо, получать удовольствие от игры это не мешает.

Il reprend les bases de son modèle: à la fois dans sa forme, celle d'un jeu de puzzle arcade compétitif, et ses mécaniques basées sur l'assemblage de [strike]puyos[/strike] blobs et le plaisir des réactions en chaîne qui en découlent. Toutefois il offre aussi suffisamment de subtilités dans la formule pour dépasser le simple homage et développer un intérêt propre.
It's essentially Puyo Puyo, a game with an already fun and simple formula, and adds a cute art style, a quite decent soundtrack, and a couple of twists to the gameplay that makes it faster-paced, more strategic, and more fun. In addition to that, who doesn't love achievements and trading cards? If you're a fan of those kinds of puzzle games, love playing 1v1 against a friend, or want a small arcade-style puzzle game to kill a few minutes with, this game is a great choice!
Raining Blobs was a love at first sight.
I saw it on Twitter randomly, and my eyes immediately fired up. What captivated me at first was the mix of cute anime girls and super juicy graphics. But even better—it seemed like Puyo Puyo was finally revitalised and brought to PC, Mac and Linux all at once, in Steam. I couldn’t pass on this.
But with a few hours in, my opinion of it quickly evolved and I saw what it truly is. It's not Puyo Puyo… perhaps it’s something even better.
Raining Blobs is a falling-blocks-style arcade puzzler inspired by classics like Super Puzzle Fighter, Columns and—of course—Puyo Puyo, but the rules here are a bit different. Not so much different as to be confusing, but fresh and unique enough to entertain even the most diligent fans of the genre. Anyone who played any of the aforementioned will feel themselves right at home, but newcomers should get in the zone quite easily too—the game is very beginner-friendly with a nice tutorial and abundance of easing options.
In my opinion, the true benchmark of a solid arcade experience is a set of rules as simplistic as possible, that yet creates a nigh-infinite horizon for self-improvement, while of course being fun and never getting boring over time. I think Raining Blobs perfectly gets all of these points. I keep returning to this game often, and every time I find myself learning some new techniques, setting new standards for my skill, and realising it might be deeper than I thought. But most importantly, there is an online leaderboard for all of the modes—making it a complete package of a highly-competitive game with a skill cap as high as the sky. I would love to see more players get in the community, so the game can flourish in all its arcade glory!
Now, apart from the decently enthralling collection of four single-player modes (which are, by the way, all unique and truly different from each other, unlike most cheap knock-offs in today’s games made only to increase the number in their description), Raining Blobs offers brilliant multi-player experience! Whether it’s on-the-couch with controllers or on-the-knees with one keyboard, it’s guaranteed to bring a fine time of co-op and versus action. The rules here are a tad different from Puyo Puyo too, with a lot of smart tweaks and careful tunes which make for deeper strategic performance. Each of four modes can be played both alone and together, and each mode provides a different gameplay objective for the leaderboards (be it classic highscores, story mode speedrunning, a test of brainpower or endurance), effectively quadrupling the competition. There’s a flavour for everyone.
And of course, Raining Blobs doesn’t fall short in the way it looks and sounds either. All the sprites and animations are polished to bring maximum juice. The music is full of cheer and pumping. The sound effects are wonderfully reminiscent of the arcade era, adding to the nostalgic feel. The animated backgrounds drip with atmosphere. The cast is fully comprised of cute anime girls with distinct personalities, which breathes a lot of character into the game… All of this comes together to deliver a stream of very special light-hearted, playful vibes.
Despite being as deep and quick as an arcade should be, Raining Blobs feels very «light» and chill. It’s a game I can launch at any time for a few quick rounds of action, and I know I am always welcome here and will never be disappointed.
As you can see, I love this game a lot. Its developer, Endi Milojkoski, is an incredibly nice and super passionate indie developer from Macedonia. Making this game has been a childhood dream of his, and now that he has finally fulfilled it, he keeps on polishing and adding new things. His wife Magdalena is a fashion designer, and she developed all the girls illustrations, isn’t that lovely? It’s always been a great game up from the Beta as I remember it, but it’s very impressive to see just how much more it improved, with all the added modes, unlockable features like the Gallery, achievements and even [i]secrets[/i]… This is highly inspiring to me as a wanna-be game designer at heart.
So yeah, whether you’re a long-standing fan of puzzlers or a beginner like me, you won’t regret grabbing this adorable sweet roll of a game! Now somebody go get VyseTheLegend off the charts. This guy is [b]intense[/b].

I'm not sure. I would recommend this game because it is sweet and cute but I bought it on the assumption it was like super puzzle fighter. Now, although it is because it has the same mechanics, it just doesn't have the cosmetics and the fighting animations. You just send stars to your opponents. Great game though and happy to contribute, hopefully some updates in the future.
A very well crafted game for scratching that Tetris itch. The local multiplayer is sure to get people riled up. Don't forget to check the "How To Play" section though. Or you'll be scratching your head for most of the mechanics.

- Why did I just get a ton of white blobs from my opponent?
It'd be perfect if it had online multiplayer. But that may be a bit farfetched for one man. Perhaps Raining Blobs 2?

After spending some time playing the game, I realized I'm quite enjoing it. It's lightweight (perfectly playablle on atom tablets) it plays fast and has great pixel art graphics with nice colors. The gameplay itself reminds me most of Super Puzzle Fighter II from the arcades, so if you ever had the chance to play that game - you know what it feels like. It is, however, a bit too hard for me while playing on normal and since you don't get achievements on beginner difficulty, you are pretty much stuck on normal.

Si te gustan los juegos tipo columns, puyo puyo, puzzle bobble o puzzle fighters este es tu juego, sobre todo si lo que buscas es un modo versus para jugar en local con colegas y pasar un rato entretenido. Gráficamente cumple, y a nivel jugable dispone de bastantes modos de juego.

verry good puzle game
It took me a while to get to grips with the controls and the fast pace is rather intimidating, but it makes it a challenge.
I love the art style and the hilariously awful dialogue in tournament, which contains such gems as 'Will play my violin with you' and 'You have eyes but you are blind'. The gameplay is addictivly brutal.
If you like puzzle games then go for it!

Fresh, fast paced, and very fun! It's a blast against other players.
As someone who is a very devoted fan of Japanese arcade puzzle games (with Puyo Puyo and Magical Drop being my favorite), I think Raining Blobs does an excellent job with its presentation and mechanics. It's very well-thought out, frantic and rewarding once you get in the mindset for it. The various modes cover all the standard game types (arcade, endless...) and the puzzle mode flows really well, making smart use of the game's mechanics.
The only complaint I have right now is a lack of online multiplayer (it still has local multiplayer), but the game doesn't rely on it and the CPU gives you a proper challenge.

Raining Blobs is a very entertaining and addictive puzzle game that harkens back to the puzzle games of old. It feels like a combination of Tetris and Dr. Mario but it adds it's own setup to give it its own feel.
The game is competitive in nature and features gameplay for up to 16 players (8 Humans and 8 AI players) so it's great for some intense couch co-op gameplay.
There's also a tournament mode where you battle your way through each of the game's 8 characters until you defeat the boss Enya. A new mode called Puzzle Mode was released the day we released our review as well.
The game is an excellent addition to the overcrowded puzzle game genre and if there's one game in the endless sea of puzzle games that you should try out, it's Raining Blobs.
We gave the game 4.5 Stars out of 5 and since we enjoyed the game quite a bit we're giving it our recommendation here on Steam as well.

The puzzle genre is filled with so much junk games. There isn't enough quality puzzle games. Fortunately there is Raining Blob. This puzzle game is made with competition in mind. It's much deeper than Bejewels and Candy Crush. Best of all, it's ideal for playing with friends. 8 players on 1 machine! LOL. I enjoy the pixel art & 16 bit style animated backgrounds.
I just tried it out, but the controls are so strange and the menu layout isn't really a good help, cause it is also pretty confusing. After I studied the well hidden tutorial now, I played another arcade match, which I quitted after a while, because it was too boring to me. The tournament then doesn't seem well balanced.
All in all, this game wasn't fun to me, and this is what a game is for.
Because of the reasons above I cannot recommend this game.

As a fan of Qwirks and similar block/stuff dropping puzzle games I can only recommend this.
While there is a single player mode with leaderboards and achievements to keep you motivated, the game gets even better once more players join. And then you can fight in teams and that's just great.
Above that the developer is polishing the game and adding new things with every update, you can set your own rules, etc, Just read the updates and you'll see what you got and what you can expect.

I really like this game, im not the puzzle type game player. So this is my first puzzle game and i really enjoy it! At start i was confuesed on how the keys work but now i got it out and already have 5 hours on the game :P

Love this game. A lot. Slight hybrid of puyo puyo and super puzzle fighter II turbo. I dig the art style, everything works well, controls feel very responsive (I've been using a game pad). It's a blast to play.

Avant tout, le style du jeu est franchement rétro. On a l’impression de se retrouver devant un Amstrad ou un C64 ou un Atari ST.
Ensuite, le jeu reprend des principes de Tétris et des match 3. Des boules tombent , il faut les combiner par couleur et mettre deux boules avec des étoiles ensemble pour faire disparaître la couleur.
Il n’y a rien de spécial jusqu’ici.
Là où ça devient très intéressant, c’est que vous pouvez jouer à plusieurs. Le jeu annonce 8 joueurs en même temps. Vous allez dire que 8 joueurs sur un clavier, c’est compliqué et bien rassurez vous, vous pouvez utiliser aussi des manettes. De plus, comme ce n’est pas simple d’avoir huit personnes autour de soit, vous pouvez assigner des bots aux autres joueurs, mais attention, les bots ne sont pas maladroits comme les humains !

Familiar enough to games like Dr. Mario to be able to jump right in with no tutorials and be comfortable and have a good time. Different enough to be interesting, not boring, and can get challenging and chaotic, not too easy - nicely balanced. Well polished visuals. Good game, give it a shot. I love this game, simple as that. If you are a fan of games like Tetris, Dr. Mario, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, then this could easily be one of your new favorite games. It has some of the same allure, but it's own style, feel, and fun.
It's a ton of fun to play with friends, and with up to 8 players, nobody gets left out! (Unless you actually have a lot of friends...) And there are a lot of rules to play around with that can make it range from super intense and crazy action, to slower and more relaxed play.
The developer is also really cool and you can tell there's a lot of love that went into and continues to go into making this game. It deserves more attention.

連鎖で消すとボーナスが入り，大量のおじゃまブロックを相手に降らすことができます
仕様上ブロックが一瞬で大量に消えるので対応が難しいように感じるかと思いますが，
ブロックを消した直後におじゃまブロックが落下するわけではないので猶予が生まれ，ほどよいバランスに仕上がっていると思います
トーナメントで苦戦する人はカエル積みをして出現頻度の低いダイヤを回していくと手ごわいラスボスも倒せるかと
落ちゲー好きなら是非とも。キャラも見たとおりかわいい系寄り。
連鎖も組めますし相殺もするのでしっかり対応出来ます。
特定数で消えるわけではなく、同色☆を2つくっつければ消えるルールとなっているので最低2つだけでも消えるわけですが、フィールド内全体に塊を作り一気に消すのも中々爽快感がありました。
連鎖を組むかでかい塊を作るか辺りで戦略が変わってきそうです。
若干違いはあるもののぷよぷよ辺りを触ったことがある人なら慣れる感じはしました。
操作感もにてますし連鎖も大体は応用効きます。
ただ星の配置を考えないとなので積んでく順序はかなり考えさせられますし各場所の数もバラバラになるのが難しいですね。
残念なのはオフライン対戦のみしか今のところ実装されていない点。対戦は普通に楽しいので実装希望デス。
ネット対戦があれば満点でした。

This is a perfect puzzle game for those who love puzzle fighters games with an element of Super Puzzle Fighter and Pochi and Nyaa with a great cast.
People, please stop comparing this to Puyo Puyo or Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. It's not that. It's more akin to Puzzle Fighter. Heck, it is basically Puzzle Fighter except with a few but important rule changes.
That said, this is a pretty good multiplayer block dropping game, and in an increasingly saturated marketplace there still aren't many of these. It's like puzzle fighter, except with a few rule changes that creates real good push/pull between players: You rack up block clears and combos to create garbage, but the other player will only receive that garbage if it clears four or more blocks. So your opponent can dump 20 garbage blocks on you, but you can recover given that you have a good amount of blocks or a combo to clear.
It is a little bare, the tournament mode is very simple and it's various endings for each character are only in the form of a few sentences at the end. There isn't a whole lot of visual content to look at, the faux-anime girl style only exists in the character select and backgrounds.
But what is in the game is very solid and polished. Stacking blobs results in a satisfying squish, effects stand out enough and in such a way that you can read your opponent's status with just your peripheral vision. The music is charming and the sound effects are perfect for this type of game. The rules are simple enough to learn quickly and rewards tactful thinking and working under pressure. Also, since indie games do less of this as time goes on: It works. Everything works. No weird glitches, no unpolished bullcrap to swallow, everything just works.

I have to say - The work done with the music and the art is just FLAWLESS.
The visuals in general and & the retro style - combined with great effects are more than just eye candy.
You can never have 1 of your friends "just watching" - if you see you will want to play! And the fact that we can play up to 8 people is just wonderful.

Raining Blobs marks the Steam debut of talented game developer Endi Milojkoski. The game is one of the brightest and fastest arcade puzzle games to hit Steam in some time.
Although the concept of the game is not unique it is definitely one of the best games in its specific genre in years and arguably the very best that the PC has ever had. Games that it compares favorably to include Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine which is considered one of the all-time great SEGA games being first released in 1993 on the SEGA Mega Drive, Game Gear and the following year on the Master System, Puyo Puyo and to a lesser extent Columns and Tetris. Game play is extremely addictive as you match blocks of the same color but can only clear them when you connect them to two same-colored blocks with stars in them. It’s not just a game that requires hand-eye coordination but also a quick and strategic mind.
The game is suitable for one player but you also have the added benefit of playing alongside up to eight other players through the game’s multiplayer. Those who do not have anyone that they can play with are not left out of the game’s competitive mode either as the global leaderboards present enormous challenge to anybody with any desire to compete with the best in the world. It’s the type of game that many players will find themselves trying to claw their way to a higher standing. Even if you’re not such a talented player Milojkoski made the game accessible to everybody by including six difficulty levels. The implementation of a colorblind option further increases the game’s accessibility for the colorblind, an oft-forgotten feature that can render these games unplayable to those who suffer the unfortunate problem. The game makes full use of the Steam platform with achievements, trading cards, the aforementioned Steam global leaderboard system and the Steam cloud. The game is also completely controller friendly.
The anime fans will delight in the anime art throughout the game but as somebody who isn’t passionate for the interest I found that it didn’t detract me from the game one iota as my brain was too busy concentrating on connecting the colors to take much notice of it.
Unless you’re simply not a fan of arcade puzzle fan there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t purchase Raining Blobs. At under $10 it is certain to be enjoyed by most gamers.

Easy to pick up and hard to put down, [b]Raining Blobs[/b] is an exciting arcade puzzler like the old [b]Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine[/b] (or [b]Puyo Puyo[/b]), but better. This game offers six difficulty levels and three different speed levels, along with a solo mode, battle mode (supporting up to eight players) and tournament mode.
To me, this is the best game in the genre since [b]Super Puzzle Fighter II[/b] (1996), and I like how friendly or brutal it can be. Also, it's worth mentioning that there's a colorblind option, making the game accessible to everyone.
The anime appeal is a double-edged sword. I like it (and I'm sure there's a lot of people who'll discover the game because of it), but some people can mistakenly pass the game because of the girls. Either way, it doesn't really matter, since the player will be much more focused on the playfield.
All in all, I can't recommend [b]Raining Blobs[/b] enough if games like [b]Puyo Puyo[/b], [b]Columns[/b], [b]Dr. Mario[/b], and even [b]Tetris[/b], are your cup of tea. For a small asking price, you'll get an addictive and very well made game to play alone and/or with friends - and you can even team up with CPU bots to get the co-op achievements!
