Жаль у меня не идет.
Cannot believe they lock you out of the settings menu until you complete a tutorial match, while blasting metal music at you with every knob cranked to 10. To then only be met with some sort of bug/limitation preventing me from joining a party with my friend to queue. 0/10 do not recommend installing if you value your time at all ( the developers obviously don't. Nor do they value your ability to hear).

Its a great game, it has team based games, one vs one and the physics of the game are just the best. Quake Champions to me is one of the smoothest first person shooter I've played.
I can't even get it to launch. Says it is linked to another steam. Crazy only 1 steam account. How about launching Quake 1 remastered. Q1 was by far the BEST FPS
Listen, The gameplay is fun.
My only question though:
Why?
Quake was fine as is.
It didn't need a Hero Shooter TDM, It just needed to be a single-player main story, with a built in TDM and CTF.
I get it, I guess.
This was during the whole Hero Shooter craze of the 2010's, so obviously they had to get in on that in a way.
But please, please, please, please.
Just let ID give us a Quake Reboot/Remake/Requel.

A great live service game that would greatly benefit from more modes, maps and a more populated player base but it's good old 90s MP TDM fun with all of its junkiness brought into modern times and it's everything i could have asked for. Doom 2016 slayer being playable is just the cherry on top.

Олдскульный арена шутер со своими приколюхами (нет хедшотов, нет перезарядки и тд). Очень быстрая игра. Один минус, по состоянию на 2026, игроков практически нет.
Ich bin zum einen gefühlt zu alt und ggf. durch andere Spiele zu verweichlicht für die Art Arena-Shooter. Ich seh hier im Grunde kein Land mehr und man trifft im Grunde immer min. einen, der halt total abgeht. Der achtet dann schön auf die Respawn-Timer für die Items, weiß wo alle Waffen liegen, teilweise sogar wo die Spawnpunkte auf den Maps sind und zack ist man wieder weg.
Spielerisch grundsätzlich auch stark, sieht richtig genial aus, Waffen fühlen sich ebenfalls einfach nur richtig an und von der einfach wunderbaren Performance kann man fast nur träumen.
Das "Reinmixen" von den Heroshooter-Elementen durch Charaktere mit verschiedenen Fähigkeiten bin ich nicht ganz angetan, aber ich sehe wie gesagt eh kein Land mehr in dem Genre als Multiplayertitel.
Sowas als Singleplayer wäre für mich genau das richtige mit diesem schönen düsteren Grafikstil, butterweicher Performance und schön Durchschnetzeln.

The game has great graphics and is super playable, if only the developers would try to simplify matchmaking to a server list and eliminate unnecessary slowdowns between matches to bring the game closer to quake live or quake 3 in terms of menu speed etc.

After playing Quake 1's multiplayer, Q3 Live and then going back to Quake Champions after 9 years of not playing it, QC has shockingly NOT improved at all.
To start this review the game has great character designs, they all come from different dimensions and uniquely stand out from each other (Sorlag <3) each character also has unique first person animations and it's really nice attention to detail, however the roster falls a little short and maybe ID should reintroduce older Quake characters like Crash or the spooky skeleton for nostalgia value. Their abilities do not fit into Quake's core gameplay loop at all though, your ability or ultimate is essentially a free win button, ID should overhaul this by completely replacing them with a better system, should it be character specific perks or equippable gadgets like in DooM 2016's multiplayer but ultimates were the main thing that drove people away from Quake Champions because it tried to bank on Overwatch's success in 2017 and it does not work, even after 9 years of patches and changes.
Second, customisation, it's really bad in this game, sure there are a few favourites people will have for classic gun models but I really wish Quake Champions had the level of customisation DooM 2016's multiplayer had, changing individual colors and the wear and tear of weapons and armor was really sick and being able to actually earn them through gameplay instead of an in-game cash shop was much more rewarding, ID should add it into this game with some basic colors to work with as a starter and expand on the shader system.
As for the gameplay itself excluding the ultimates I guess it's still a Quake game, although slower with much less gamemodes than Quake 3 Live, they should do some touch up's on the heads up display and make sounds like footsteps louder so players can tell where enemies are coming from.
And lastly, mods, why does this game not have it? there is a reason people still play the original games because of the endless amount of community created content that people playing multiplayer can enjoy even to this day, yes old veterans still exist and people still host tournaments and LAN parties because the newest game Quake Champions didn't live up to it's expectations. Quake Champions with custom maps, weapons and game modes would MASSIVELY increase this game's appeal and longevity, not only that but it would also prevent any pressure on ID from having to make another multiplayer component for any future Quake game should they ever decide to make a 5th one or a remake, it would be a balanced ecosystem for singleplayer and multiplayer Quake fans.
My conclusion? The game needs a 2.0 overhaul for it's 10th anniversary, bring back modding for PvP/PvE and custom content, overhaul systems like the ultimates and rework customisation in the game. It's guaranteed to bring everyone back to Quake and arena shooters if it's fun to play and stays around in the long term, just having ranked levels and non-stop live service MTX bunny ears slop is not fun at all.

this game is pure ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. any players that play this game are absolutely hardened quake-only players that will not spare you. not their fault, its all they know. its not worth trying to learn quake on this game. don't waste your time and play quake live. this is bloated slop that needs to be ended or succeeded as soon as possible. horrible piece of software.
