I just looked up a guide to speed run this game. Its okay I guess. Oh yeah there was so dwarf or something idk +1
It's not bad, it was just not necessary.
This is the biggest "buyer beware, kindda". If you liked Puzzle Agent then this is just more of the same, except... it's more grounded? or resolved I guess, which kindda removes some of the atmosphere from the story and universe.
It really should have been an anthology. It almost feels TOO explained, like EVERYTHING in the previous game and in this has to have been explained, which is just... too much.
Most of the puzzles are fine, alot of them are really fun, but there are definitely the few that feels very cheap. A late sequence feels almost buggy, (the one where you've gone mad and is running with the ray) because you cannot re-read the instructions after they were shown first and you only have a limited amount of tries or it's on a timer, I accidentally clicked the instructions away and I didn't know what to do so it would just keep failing me until the timer or amount of tries ran out, this sequence btw. decides which one of two ending cutscenes you are gonna get. so that was very annoying.
Puzzle agent 1 is definitely the much better game. but IF you are starved for more puzzle agent, then Puzzle Agent 2 is *fine*, it's just... Puzzle Agent 1 was AMAZING

Puzzle Agent 2 is, for lack of a better description, a rushed sequel intended to tie up the loose ends of the first game when plans for an episodic release (akin to other Telltale titles) fell through. It suffers from numerous visual bugs (primarily in the latter half of the game) and the story is very clearly a heavily condensed version of what could have been that skips around, a lot, with characters often getting dropped entirely on short notice. All of that said, it still does what it sets out to do and does so adequately enough that I haven't found myself feeling disappointed by it over the years. If you enjoyed the first game, you'll probably enjoy this one too.

Puzzle-Agent Nelson Tethers hat nach den Ereignissen in Teil 1 eigentlich erstmal Urlaub bekommen, aber es geht nicht anders - er muss zurรผck ins lรคndliche Minnesota. Die Radiergummifabrik von Scoggins lรคuft wieder, das Weiรe Haus bekommt also endlich Materialnachschub. Heute wรคre der besonders wichtig, so viel wie es da gerade zu Radieren gibt.
Naja, Agent Tethers ist das wahnwitzige Tagesgeschรคft in Washington D.C. erstmal egal, ihm geht es um die dicken offenen Fragezeichen, die nach der "Lรถsung" des Falls im ersten Teil verblieben sind. Wo ist Fabrik-Vorarbeiter Isaac Davner? Und was hat es mit den Hidden People auf sich?

Das Spiel greift die mysteriรถse Stimmung des ersten Teils gelungen auf, auch wenn es meinem Gefรผhl nach nicht mehr ganz so viele Unheimlichkeiten gab. In jedem Fall empfiehlt es sich stark, den Vorgรคnger gespielt zu haben. Erst zusammen ergeben die Teile ein vollstรคndiges Puzzle.
Ganz so einfach zusammengesetzt ist das jedoch nicht, weil es wieder wild hergeht. Auch wenn Tethers wie gewohnt seine Arbeitsschritte per Voice-Memo festhรคlt, hรคlt das Spiel Erklรคrungen der Ereignisse oft eher dรผnn.
[b]Eine gute Auflรถsung?[/b]
Ausgehend von den bekannten Fragezeichen gewinnt das Mysterium an Tragweite. Dazu machen wir auch Bekanntschaft mit einer kleinen Anzahl neuer Charaktere, die sich nahtlos in das Bild der schrullig-schrรคgen Bevรถlkerung von Scoggins einfรผgen. Perfekt getroffene (englische) Synchronisation und witzige Interaktionen mit dem liebenswerten Puzzle-Agenten natรผrlich inklusive!
Trotz ein paar Unklarheiten im Detail war ich mit der Auflรถsung des Mysteriums zufrieden. Nach dem Cliffhanger im ersten Teil gibt es diesmal also ein rundes Ende.
An der spielerischen Front hat sich nicht viel getan. Wie gehabt bewegen wir uns im Point&Click-Stil durch Scoggins. Regelmรครig eingestreut lรถsen wir dann bekรถmmliche Rรคtsel, die auch aus dem analogen Knobelheft fรผr den Strandurlaub stammen kรถnnten. Die Abwechslung bei den Rรคtseltypen ist diesmal gefรผhlt etwas geringer, ohne das empirisch belegen zu kรถnnen. (Auf der Shopseite steht "Grรถรere Varietรคt intuitiver, jedoch schwieriger Puzzle" - naja, weiร ich nicht. Letzteres stimmt schon mal kaum.)
So oder so hatte ich aber eine gute Zeit mit den Puzzles, man sollte nur keinen echten Anspruch erwarten. Meist war es die grรถรte Challenge, mich von der Erwartung zu lรถsen, dass das vorliegende Rรคtsel irgendeine auf den ersten Blick nicht sichtbare Komplexitรคtsstufe haben kรถnnte. Aber das ist fรผr so einen entspannten Winternachmittag ja auch mal was angenehmes.

This game is totally similar to the first one, but that is not at all bad. It feels like a continuation as both setting and characters are the same and the story is continued from where we left off in the first game. I like the graphics style and the voices very much, I only miss more animation. The story is still good and mysterious and the dialogues hilarious at times. The riddles as a key gameplay element are nice and not frustrating with the hint system. But I played through the game because of the story in the end. Play the first one first to be able to follow the story better.

Wish there was a neutral review
It's still a decent game, but it's very noticeable downgrade in all aspects, especially puzzles. Either too simple, or too tedious, or outright nonsensical. And even the story doesn't give the same spooky vibes the first part did, and is much more confusing (not in fun way), and some plot threads are outright dropped with no reason
But I still leave a thumbs up, because it's still enjoyable - just not as much as the original
Puzzle solving requires a little less visualization than the original. The interesting mystery story kept me moving through, more than the slightly dull puzzles themselves.

SUPER story rich XD
Not as good as the first game, with a weak conclusion, but a worthy sequel that holds up most of the first game's strengths (good art style, interesting set-up, decent puzzles).
While the story is as mysterious and engaging than the first, some puzzles in Puzzle Agent 2 is unnecessarily hard for casual puzzle lovers, and not in a fun way of hard. While the answer is everywhere in the internet, I expected something better than this. I'm not saying it is a bad game, but the first one is better than this. Still recommended as the price is cheap.
A fun short game, beautifully animated, in which you follow an interesting story and progress through it by completing diverse puzzles, that I say do not get boring due to their uniqueness. I really enjoyed it, just like the first game.
It's more Puzzle Agent, but now it's focused on tying up all the loose plot threads from the first game so the creepy small town atmosphere is a little lost and also the puzzles aren't as good.
Still going to recommend it because it's still a charming little game and I adore that distinctive Graham Annable art style; I just wish going from fighting a Minnesota gnome cult to fighting The Governmentโข didn't feel like such a downgrade.
The main problem is that the puzzles feel just a tiny bit worse now and it made the achievements, which require you to solve all of them without messing up or using a single hint, extremely grueling without cheating and using a guide. (Which, as a quick aside, can we talk about the fact that this puzzle-based game incentivizes you to get every single puzzle correctly on the first try? And if you mess up [i]one[/i] puzzle, you have to create a new save file? Professor Layton doesn't do this because this is evil.)
The first Puzzle Agent's puzzles weren't [i]amazing[/i] or anything but the batch in the second game feels like a weird mixture of rehashes from the first game, repeated themes (there are a lot of sequential photo sorting and slide puzzles), or questions with completely esoteric answers. I've played six Professor Layton games to completion before playing Puzzle Agent 2 and none of them asked me if I knew binary counting.
My other problem is story-related. Since the writing is focused on resolving the mystery from the first game, you're retreading a lot of old ground and talking to a lot of the same characters, who now just feel too damn helpful and willing to help solve the mystery. There's a reason for this (the cult from the first game is falling apart) but the barely restrained hostility from all of the residents of Scoggins before they try to kill you to satisfy the whims of the town's Brotherhood was one of the best parts of the first game. Here, Nelson Tethers will bring up "hey, remember when you tried to kill me?" as a conversation option and it usually gets shrugged off as a "haha well, y'know how it is in Minnesota" before they give me the coordinates to my next clue. The main pushback you get comes from, as stated before, The Governmentโข. And the occasional person going "haha gee idk man you sound crazy rn, ay".
However, despite all of this, I do like seeing all of these characters again and it was fun seeing more of the astronauts and the moon gnomes and the hostile Minnesota law enforcement. Is it, as the common consensus seems to be, not as good as Puzzle Agent 1? Well yeah, but it's also a two hour long game so I can't bring myself to be *too* disappointed that this game tripped and stumbled a bit before reaching the finish line.
But I'll allow myself to be just a little disappointed that there's less dead bodies and attempted murders via chainsaw this time around.
I do, however, appreciate that Nelson Tethers does something that you would never see Professor Layton do, which is [spoiler]run naked through the woods after a government space laser fries his brain.[/spoiler]

So most people reading this have probably seen Ross Scott's video on Puzzle Agent (Ross's Game Dungeon). In his video he praises the first Puzzle Agent but sort of discourages from playing this second game.
Gameplay wise this is almost exactly like the first game however they've made new puzzles (albeit the different style of puzzle reappears a few times just like the first game). As Ross explains you return to Scoggins to try to find out what happened.
So is it worth it? I would say yes. It took me about 2-3 hours finishing so it's short, but in my opinion this game feels like more of a wild ride. There's more at stake, for better and worse, and in a good way this game is more exciting and unpredictable than the first.
I played this game just after I finished reading "The Pendragon Legend" by Antal Szerb and coincidentally I feel like that book and this game convey the same feelings. I would say that if you truly enjoy this game I get the feeling you will enjoy that book as well. This game definitely feels more like an adventure than the first. You don't know which characters you can trust and at any time something could happen that would turn people to or against you. I really loved that feeling of uncertainty, that was to me the best part of this game.
So what is worse with this game? Well:
[spoiler] It's actually just the ending. Up until that point I felt like I was taken on a journey but with higher stakes comes higher requirements to tie the bag together, and the game doesn't really get that part right in my opinion.
Just like Ross says, they're lifting the veil of mysteries that shouldn't be revealed and that removes the sense of mystery and clears away the tension they had so successfully built up. Some things, just like Ross states, are better left unexplained.
If you want to play it but don't want to ruin it, you should stop playing after Tethers speaks to Glori in the diner when the FBI has arrived.
The Pendragon Legend also sort of fizzles out by the end of it, but it's still worth finishing.

This game is a great continuation of it's predecessor. If you were left wanting more after playing Puzzle Agent, this does the trick. It's nothing overwhelmingly new and exciting, but it scratched the itch for me. I really enjoyed the puzzles and found quite a few to be challenging. Overall, I would recommend if you loved Puzzle Agent.
Definitely a great way to kill some time. Some puzzles are very simple, others need a bit of logic, some are near nonsense. All fun, though. The humour and story are the attraction, for me.

A great follow up to the first game! Fun puzzles that have a fun difficulty curve without being too much to handle. Really fun vibe and the story concludes nicely.

If you played and enjoyed the first one, might as well see how the Scoggins story ends and play this one too. The puzzles are a far bit harder in this one compared to the first game. For achievements hunters this game has no unmissable achievements. Any achievement or puzzle you fail in your playthrough can still be obtained after the credits by clicking the puzzles / posters / gum bowl in your office.

Definitely enjoyable (and really should be part of Puzzle Agent 1, itโs one continuous story).
Story wise, no spoilers, but it gets cuckoo crazy to say the least.
The puzzles are generally very reasonable and well tuned.
However, it is annoying to require a full playthrough with perfect guesses on all puzzles to unlock the secret puzzle. Would have been nice QOL if they allowed you to replay puzzles to get the perfect rating.
If you are going for 100% completion, check your answers with a guide before submitting to get access to the last puzzle.

Great sequel to a great game that left me wanting more and wondering where the story could lead. The humor is still there and a bit more development on some characters. It has the same great pace of storytelling along the puzzles. Some of which I found quite challenging. I appreciate the limited number of hints that still make it a challenge. Just felt it was overall a bit short because of how much I was enjoying it. Looking forward to another sequel.
Puzzle Agent 2 continues the story that began in the first game. Agent Tethers is back in Washington and is told to forget about the case in Minnesota but he canโt let the unsolved mystery go. The game is much the same as the first with clicking for hint bubblegum, talking to the locals and solving puzzles. I felt the story found in the first Puzzle Agent was stronger than the story here but it was still a decent wrap-up to the series. I enjoyed playing it and was sad when it was over. I would definitely recommend these games.

As others have stated, you will have to play the first game as this sequel greatly expands on the narrative & picks up nearly right where it left off.
Let's be real here - if you enjoyed the first one, pick up this sequel. If not, then it probably isn't worth your time.

This is an absolute gem of a puzzle game. The story and art style is so fun and goofy. Gives a 90s mystery vibe, like "Twin Peaks" for kids (except the red gnomes are truly unnerving).

Puzzles aren't too difficult, beat it before and bought here on a whim to replay.
Runs well on steam deck, controls fine with the track pad and shoulder buttons or touchscreen.
Its a shame we never got more from this world, rather then years of the same game with different IP skins slapped on top.
Short and sweet but cheap to boot.
Commits two unforgivable puzzle game crimes:
1. Several puzzles rely on "general knowledge" (e.g. being familiar with the coins of a currency I've never used).
2. Includes a sudden quick time event in a game that otherwise lets me take my time.
Other than that, I generally had fun with this sequel, though I got a little bored of the handful of identical puzzles that kept coming back in different disguises. I think I would have liked it better if Puzzle Agent had been one longer game.

It's a charming game but lacking in game part. There is nothing really to explore or wander around, everything is very on rails.
Much like the first game the ending sudden and lacking closure but this time somehow feels worse.
The second round with Agend Tether was pretty good, but the puzzles felt too easy and the story was a bit all over the place. It really needed a stronger ending. Iโd say it's mainly for fans of the first one.

I enjoy puzzle games and this comic styling made for a good time, and for a pay off of over an hour per dollar spent makes it an instant win.

If you like games like Proffessor Layton or Ace Attorney you will have a good time here
It's definitely got charm and the art is nice and unique. Definitely a fun game for fans of adventure titles

Puzzle Agent 2 is a fine game, but not nearly as good as the first.
I think the puzzles are a little tougher, but there wasnโt much that really tied me in knots. As other reviews have pointed out, a few require knowledge rather than reasoning. It was really only the Monosaki puzzles that really stumped me; I cheated on them because the gray illustrations and numbers were turning my brain into mush. Everything else just requires a little time and meticulousness. Honorable mention goes to the hedge maze puzzle, [spoiler]by making me narrow down the correct center pieces and experiment from there,[/spoiler] while dishonorable mention goes to the raccoon puzzle [spoiler]thatโs given away by the snow tracks, even though youโre supposed to be looking at the number of raccoons on the dock[/spoiler].
The lack of involvement from the first gameโs supporting cast lends to the feeling that Nelson is in so deep and only he can solve the mystery, making the atmosphere more intense. However, I much preferred the offbeat variety of moods in the first game, which could be comfy, quirky, silly, threatening, and mysterious. Characters like Bjorn, Sheriff Bahg, and Glori were much more interesting and active in the first game, and there were more interactions with minor characters that made Scoggins feel alive. Here the townsfolk are mostly sitting back and waiting for you to finish the case. The one exception is the new character, Korka, who I canโt really explain without spoiling, but talking to them is the most fun I had in the entire game.

I think the five dollars are still worth getting closure [spoiler]after the first gameโs cliffhanger[/spoiler]. Itโs not a spectacular ending; it comes a bit too quick, and there are a couple of loose ends left over, but thereโs enough intrigue, humor, and catharsis to make the journey worthwhile. The forums suggest that there were plans to make more of these before Telltale turned into a glorified CYOA publisher [spoiler]and the postcard from Isaac and Glori suggests that door was at least open[/spoiler]. That would be a damn shame, because thereโs definitely room for more Puzzle Agent in the world. Iโd love a Puzzle Agent 3, though Iโd hope that the designers try thinking of some new puzzles.

I really dislike adventure games with bad puzzles, even if the rest of the game is generally alright.
You need to play the first one to understand the story. It is still fun, but some puzzles need knowledge instead of logic, and those just tedious. Like, you have to know Pi's first 10 digits to solve one...
Good story, love the characters and the art style is great! All in all awesome game!
wraps up story from the first game but still opens a possibility for a new entry (please). and theres exactly TWO puzzles that drove me insane because i am expected to know a real-world information for a thing that might not be common knowledge. still nothing to difficult, but the controls for the sliding block sequence feels really heavy somehow.

This and the first game are basically the same. I recommend playing both together. Specially if you find them on sale.
Most puzzles don't require using hints, but some can be quite challenging.
Due to the nature of the game it doesn't have much replay value, and you can finish it in a few hours.

Playing Puzzle Agent 1 is an absolute must as the second game expands on that story. The game is the same good quality as the first part with the same problems: the puzzle descriptions are often very poor.
Despite that it is a very good game. Its a shame that this is way shorter than the first part (around 2 hours).

Puzzles are quite spread among different game genres nowadays, so it is very cool to play old-school puzzle point-and-click quest and chill. But some puzzles could be really mind-blowing!

Unfortunately fails to improve on the first game and even regresses in parts. Conclusion to the story is absolutely nonsensical, puzzle variety is poor despite short length, difficulty is flat and on the easy side (without any harder optional puzzles), rules are not precisely written and can be confusing. It's amazing visually and has a great mysterious vibe, but that's it.
Better than the first 1 but still confusing puzzle(7.5/10)
