I like it when the numbers go up.
Really great mmo in an old school style. Don't let the graphics throw you, it's made and run by a very small team that does a great job of getting stuff out. There's a wealth of skills and things to do. It doesn't follow standard leveling experience. You combine two skill lines at a time to make a unique class you like. Want to be a Cow that takes its enemies to therapy? You can do that. Want to be a cheesemaker who tosses fireballs? Have fun! Want to be a farmer? You can! There's a ton of customizability. Now there are issues here and there, no game is perfect and you'll pick up on them. Some stuff needs a LOT of time investment, very much in the vein of old MMOs.
Overall, for the price and monthly fee (you don't have one... unless you want VIP). It's great.
I am sad that I did not experience this game sooner. The best way I could explain this game is a mix between osrs style leveling systems with open world mmorpg gameplay like asheron or world of warcraft, though the game is unique in its own right. I would recommend any new players join the server listed in the game launcher (I started on Strekios as it was recommended and am loving it). If you're looking for a classic style mmo with deep leveling and progression systems definitely check it out.
If you like old-school style MMOs, a small community, devs who communicate and constantly update/fix, and game that's not afraid to get weird and fun with it, this WILL be your jam.
I didn't know it before I played this game but this was the MMO I was looking for. Not a themepark MMO where you get shuffeled from one mediocre set piece to the next but a open world full of quirky characters with the tons of skills and hidden mechanics to discover. I may have missed my chance to play everquest but I can play Project Gorgon.
Got it in early access, went in blind, joined a few other randos and had a superb time. One of my favorite parts was saying "What do you think is over there?" Then exploring and finding something interesting, fun or profitable. Coming across new skills was also a ton of fun. One doesn't need to but try going in blind before checking any guides. Also feels more organic to just ask around for info/help, people have been VERY helpful.
like everquest and runescape had a baby but actually fun to play
Best MMO
A great game were you pick a race and travel the world doing cool and fun quests.
Pure Nostalgia. Reminiscent of games of the past. A small but great community, who will answer any questions you may have along the way. Highly recommend to try the Demo!
Nutty, old school style mmo/rpg, strong sense of community - this is my bag baby
Very nice MMORPG that does not hold your hand, it respects your intelligence, has a lot of freedom to kill your character wherever you want, but even in death there's XP to be had. :)
good game
Great game with a lot of detail despite not having the greatest graphics,. There is soooo much to do, should keep you from getting bored anytime soon. lol
This is the game I have been looking for since leaving wow at the end of WotLK and before that Runescape. This game is best experience with very minimal wiki looking up and instead rely on community(global and guild). I am very excited for future content but hope the game sticks to the old school nature of questing(favors) and discovery.
One negative comment would be performance at times in cities even without alot of players present(Serbule) and the lack of main quest additions, I for one care about the story, for once!
jeu qui change les codes de ce qui est à la mode, on peut prendre son temps sans perdre du plaisirs. Dommage que ça ne soit pas traduit d'en d'autres langues.
Feels like an old MMO in the modern era. if ESO and OSRS had a baby. It feels fun and confusing and good.
I should have played this years ago. It's a slow-paced, exploration and community-based online game that hearkens back to early MMOs; it's very reminiscent of my early wanderlust in Everquest. If you're bored with all the online theme parks that have you rush from one quest hub to the next and wish to participate in a community rather than zerg your way to "engame" after a week, then give P:G a try.
I have played many MMOs and consider myself a connoisseur in the genre. There are other reviews stating that Project Gorgon is a cross between Everquest and Runescape, and I agree with the assessment. This is the ultimate "number go up" MMO I have ever played or seen, with an insane number of skills, uses, synergies, and and unlocks.
It is rare to see anything unique in the MMO space anymore, which is why the focus on favor levels with NPCs is a welcome surprise. The game really leans into using quests and dumping items on NPCs to unlock storage spaces or training or shops, giving extra value to the quests or making sure there is always a use for the one millionth bear ass you picked up.
While the game lacks the polish of the massive companies that run the big MMOs today, the jank becomes part of the charm the longer you play. What PG lacks in flare and bedazzlement it makes up for it with well-crafted systems and the freedom to use them. Edit: A patch today fixed a lot of the visual issues I was experiencing. I dare say the game looks good now, even if the style itself is generic fantasy.
Probably not a good fit for someone's first MMO. I can see someone getting frustrated by the lack of direction or instruction. However, Project Gorgon is something special for an MMO veteran and I intend to enjoy it until my old bones, hands, eyes, back, schedule, etc can't handle the grind any more.
Special warning if you have hoarder tendancies- there are a lot of items in this game. They all have uses but storage space is precious. You may go insane trying to keep them all.
yes
can only have one char if you bought the game, extra slots cost are same price as the game.
It starts out slow for new players, but the freedom to mix classes the way you like is awesome. I tried the demo and was hooked. There is so much to do that I haven't gotten bored and that is always an issue after playing for a while. Well worth the money (I am not a VIP).
Im gonna be spending way too much time playing this game.
Rad game with a nice sandbox feel and friendly community. Could see myself spending a while digging into it.

In Short: If you liked Ultima Online, Dark Age of Camelot or Wurm Online, you will love Project Gorgon!
No "meta build", no "Game starts at max level" or any of the negatives of modern MMOs for the masses, this game lets you do What ever you Want, How Ever you Want it!
This might sound cheesy or weird, but if you feel confused and don't really know what to focus on, you are doing it right! :-D
I don't ever leave reviews. This game is incredible. It took a minute to grow on me but now I don't think I'll ever leave.
Hidden gem of a game. If you like classic mmo's of any kind, you will find something here for you. Sandbox style with SO much room to grow and enough content now to keep you engaged.
Great variety, be and do what you want!
Honestly? The best MMO to come out in years. I figured it would be a passing fancy but the game is really wide, while individual skills are all very unique, creating a wonderful depth. You find yourself constantly working your way through chains of activities to get to the next goal, while making tangible process the entire time. Very, very fun to grind, because it doesn't feel like grinding when you're switching between different things on your way to accomplish your goals.
Espectacular mmorpg, no sentía esta inmersión en un mundo desde metin2.
This is a game
great! wonderful writing. tons to do.
Really cool classic-styled MMO. Built around having a smaller community so don't fret about not having a 10mil player count. The trial is also incredibly generous, so check it out.
Might be a good idea but the execution is trash. The game crashes on a regular basis and I am running latest hardware.
good stuff
old school skill and favor based complex gaming system. appeals to detail oriented gamers. funky combat system that makes you feel like you are having an impact. wide range of scale so travel through the content lasts a long time.
The game I've been looking for to capture that old magic.
Project Gorgon is a new MMO with old-school bones, wrapped in substantive quality of life innovations and a respect for player agency. You can be anything you want, from a psychoanalytic pig to a fae combat mycologist. If you miss the old days of the genre, this may be the antidote to the pay-to-win hellscape most new mmos inhabit.
pretty good. i bought this game 2 days ago and i have 28 hours in
Best mmo
This game is simply not good. There is a lot to do, but very little reason to do it other than make number bigger. The community is horrific. I'm guessing the reason this is popular is because of nostalgia and dopamine hits, because there's not much to do that matters. The community seems to want to accept broken things because nostalgia. You can make some numbers big with a bunch of rude users and admins, so if that's your thing, you'll love it. Otherwise, this is a complete rip-off.
B. in Lava springen) gemacht habe.
3. Das System motiviert nicht zu weiterspielen
Normalerweise levelt man Skills, indem man gut spielt – hier levelt man sie, indem man absichtlich schlecht spielt.
Keine sinnvolle Progression, keine Belohnungen, keine Strategie – nur repetitive Aktionen, die keinen Spaß machen.
Fazit:
A fantastic game-it's a little hard to get into, but well worth the time.
It's a fun experience if you aren't looking for themepark MMO's and can look past the graphics. I myself am more of a ''gameplay makes the game'' type of a guy and Morrowind'esque graphics are actually very nostalgic for me.
Meillleur MMORPG old school existant actuellement !
One of the best MMORPGs I've ever played, and from me, that actually means something:
> I tried WoW; For 20 years, raided in Blood Legion, Astral, Deuk, and Ghost Riderz as a multi-time raid-boss-world first holder on Illidan-Horde.
> I tried OSRS / Runescape collectively, and maxed both.
> I tried Everquest 2 in it's heyday and recently; Not for me.
But this game? Project Gorgon? It's the best, friendliest MMORPG on the market today; The community is great, the economy and jokes and everything are just solid- The gameplay, the skills. And the devs ACTUALLY listen on the PG Discord.
I can't wait to turn my (14 hours played) into many, many many more.
Like honestly, at least try it, I sunk 10 hours JUST INTO THE TRIAL, and you can EASILY squeeze out hundreds more, if you really wanted.
This game is a bit different from the usual. The first few times I played it, I thought I was done with it when I shut it down. Nope, I couldn’t wait to get back to it.
Here are the highlights of what sets this apart from the typical MMO. You don’t pick a class, none at all. You start out knowing how to swing a sword and throw a punch. Using those skills grows your ability, and you’ll naturally learn new techniques, like how to kick. You can also pick up other skills along the way, such as Mentalism, Necromancy, or Warden abilities, if you decide that living life as an animal (e.g., cow, pig, deer, or spider) is for you. None of it follows a straightforward, cookie-cutter track. You might need faction standing to train a particular skill that you can't get through experience alone, or you might need to complete quests to unlock others. You also don't have access to everything from the start; some require many levels before they can be unlocked.
Speaking of quests, there are plenty, but it’s not like visiting a hub and knocking out tasks for XP. You have to talk to NPCs to learn who they are and what they do. They all have "faction'. Specifically, you have a relationship with each one, and the quality of that relationship determines how much they will do for you. If you want to buy armor from a smith, you might have to prove you aren't a fool or a weakling before they’ll let you wear their gear around town. If you want to learn fire magic, well, Velkort’s a busy guy. He’ll start you out, but then you need to research your spells on your own. If you progress in the skill and earn his favor, he’ll help you along the way.
Also, you’re going to die. That’s a skill too, in a way. You get XP toward it, but the point is that this isn't quite as mindless a grind as something like WoW. In other games, you just put in the time and there’s very little risk of death. Here, you will get overwhelmed and you will be killed. You have to pay attention, and that’s great.
I should include a note about its jankiness and "old school" approach. There are many "quality of life" details missing. For instance, you can’t just sell to any merchant. Even after running around to several vendors to sell your loot, they will eventually run out of cash, which only replenishes on a weekly cycle. During your first 30 levels, you’ll easily blow through all the merchants' cash in a day and spend the next six carrying around or dropping junk. This is just one example of several intentional design choices. It’s not enough to overcome my addiction, but consider this a fair warning.
The performance is also dismal. On a high-end machine where I run most modern games at 100+ FPS, this one drives my video card to its limit and will drop into the low 20s in the starter town (which is barely big enough to be called a town). In the open world, I’ve seen it go as high as 70, but 50 is more common. The environment is more like EverQuest than anything else. The characters have more detail, to be sure, but the world looks like it’s from the mid-2000s. That’s cool, but the performance feels like a Cyberpunk sequel set to release in 2049.
For the price, I'd say give it a shot and see if you get addicted. I did.
Great fun if you have a longer attention spawn than a tik tok video
I kickstarted this game like 10 years ago. It was absolute garbage when it first "released", so I stopped playing after maybe an hour.
Recently, my friend asked me to come play it with him, so I reinstalled it. The gameplay has definitely gotten better over the last 10 years. I was having fun.
Then after a few days of playing, I was just unable to connect to the server anymore. It just times out, no message, no real error, it just cant connect. I could connect to all the other servers no problem, and I tested my connection to the server itself to make sure it wasnt my router randomly blocking it or something. Obviously something had happened to my account on just that server, it has become corrupt in some way.
So I went to their discord, and submitted a ticket, the only way to get any kind of support (their support channel just tells you to file a ticket). I waited THREE DAYS with no response.
Finally, they replied by... immediately closing my ticket and telling me to wait for a game update thats happening next week, to see if that MAYBE fixes the problem (what problem? WHO KNOWS, they didnt say), but if not, then just open another ticket! Dont worry about having wasted all that time leveling your character! Dont worry that your account could become inaccessible for absolutely no reason at any point! Just keep on waiting while we smugly close your ticket after half a week of complete silence!
No thanks. The game sucks, the support sucks, the company sucks, and I regret giving them any money 10 years ago. I would never, ever ever ever ever ever ever ever recommend anyone play this garbage game or give this garbage company any money.
Get bent.
Caveat: My time played is about half of what is listed. The loading screen counts as time played. I still have played a lot.
I am an old school MMORPG player. Asheron's Call, Dark Age of Camelot, FFXI.
I do not like most modern MMOs. I like difficulty. I do not like P2W, dailies, and I like camping/corpse runs/no fast travel.
The good:
- Travel is excellent, you skill up teleportation, you have to think about where you bind, and you improve your ability to traverse the map without being able to go anywhere at any time.
- Favor system is fun, makes you think about what you need to save, creates an interesting economy.
- Game has unforgiving mob placements and difficult environments (Gazluk is cold, therefore you need warmth abilities/items to keep from freezing, if you get this down, it's a great place to grind)
- Mature playerbase by and large
- Fun content. Lots to explore.
- So many secondary skills. Challenging. Not derivative, some are easy some are hard.
The not so good, but not game breaking:
- Excessive inventory Management is necessary because so much stuff drops, and much of it is useful. But even if it is not useful, you never have enough money, so you want to keep it to sell. You also need it for favor.
- Encourages spreadsheet use: To keep track of what to sell, what to favor, what you will need later on. This gets old after a while.
- The graphics/ambient sounds are very mediocre. I'm being kind with this.
The reason why I think a lot of people quit before getting to the gatekeeped late game that makes the remainder quit (I had just started the Statehelm grind, so I can't comment on that favour sink):
THE GOD AWFUL DAILIES. Egg runs and the books that drop are game breaking. Povus is a Zerg nightmare and one of the most unenjoyable experiences I've ever had. It's incredibly choppy, and the need to jumpwalls/rooftops with the worst jump mechanics ever, along with the terrible clipping, it's just gross. The other dailies feel necessary from a loot perspective. Couple that with long term other dailies means you are falling behind if you are not playing 2.5 hours a day doing mindless zerg stuff.
Consequently, the population is dropping every week on the four new servers. The game does not respect your time. It has a lot of that starting magic (if you are fine with lacklustre graphics and ambience) up until level 70, and then it falls apart fast.

Grindy, but fun!

Don't think, just drink
oink, i'm a pig now.
I would love to give this game a positive review sadly... can't The community from the old server of over 10 years has such a ego trip they want the game to stay flawed because they had to deal with it. Any feedback you ever try and give is met with people just being condescending to very real issues. There is a lot of "get good" mentality. The devs have given unchecked power to random community members who get an insane ego boost and do as they please.
This game has so much potential but will do nothing for it. I get the dev team is small that's fine but when you get a big influx of players and there is constant feedback about issues caused by said influx without being addressed it will slowly turn people away after enough frustration.
This game was made as an oldschool game with old mechanics in mind over a 10 years period by 2 people.
It has many good things about it and many bad things.
Unfortunately for me the bad things outweight the good things and the small manpower on the team of developers is unable to fix these problems.
To make the things worse, old playerbase is overprotective and don't want to hear any criticism or suggestions on how to improve the game. This makes it very hard to believe in this project further. Moderator team on official discord channel also protects old playerbase, albeit of them breaking several server rules, where these are agressive and disrespectful towards new players.
Avoid if you want your sanity to be intact.
Ever wonder what it would be like if you combined Diablo 2 with Ultima Online? Project Gorgon will show you.
So here's the funny part: When I first bought this game, I absolutely hated it. Too much confusion, too many hidden features, no explanation for a lot of what I was expected to do...and yet I kept giving it another shot. After about 20 hours I got it figured out, and the game hooked its claws into me and never let go.
So what is Project Gorgon? It takes the idea of a non-hand-holding, old school MMORPG like, say, Everquest 1, and gives it a couple interesting gameplay tweaks to make it a bit fresher, more palatable to a wider array of people. Things like loot drops being more frequent and having a naming/affix system very similar to Diablo 2. They even have a re-rolling mechanic you can unlock through an NPC you meet early on.
There's also the skill system, which is classless and a bit heavy in the way Ultima Online was. Like that game, basically every action in the game has an associated skill with it. Cooking, foraging, dancing, dyeing...and even dying (Yes, you earn skill points in dying when you croak, and you'll get a nice surprise with that) You can spend your time fighting and grinding, or making stuff if you wish. It borrows a lot from UO and isn't ashamed to add a fair bit of sick humor into it as well. Nice touch.
What shocked me most though was the speed of the combat. It's....fast. Like ARPG fast. This isn't a slow-tick high TTK MMO from the 90s, you actually need to react quick and know what you're doing before you do it. Attack rotations, combo moves, skill synergies...read up on the wiki or learn from other players or else you'll be hopelessly lost.
...but like all good RPGs, you will get out of it what you put in. Make an effort, and the game will bring you hundreds of hours of joy. I can honestly say this is one of my favorite MMOs I've ever played, and I think anyone who enjoys that classic Diablo 2 item re-roll tweak-fest will too. Highly addicting.
project grognard for all us elders out there
so good
17 hours have flown by and am enjoying a old school uo grindy type of game!
Got lice and couldn't cure it until, about 65 hours in, I found and bought a (used) louse comb for 20c.
I'm Best Friends with a guy who gave me lethal powdered mushrooms. I ate them in the town square while aspiring bards played music and a wolf howled.
I have been wandering through the same three low level zones in an infinite loop of distraction for a week.
I am permanently haunted by the undead skeleton of a little girl who appears and starts burning me alive while I'm organizing my inventory. There are often a dozen people nearby but none of them notice I'm dying because they're also elbows-deep in their inventory.
The wolves run like they have wobbly cat syndrome. Some players are spiders with wheels. My horse can run up a 70 degree incline.
10/10.
This game perfectly embodies the Old World Jank of late 90s/early 00s games, and it doesn't apologize for it or even bother to explain itself.
Note for people who never played those older RPGs/MMOs: This is NOT the type of game where you can pick up 10 quests at a quest hub and then have them all completed in an hour or two. But that's okay, because quests are not the primary method of getting experience in this game.
And that's honestly one of my favorite aspects of the game. Progress in skills is primarily earned through good old fashioned grinding of mobs and crafts. I've always been kind of annoyed that modern MMOs and RPGs all collectively decided that completing quests should be the main source of experience.
Project: Gorgon is a wonderful throwback in both mechanics and quirk.
Also note: Even though it harkens back to a time when quests weren't streamlined and you can get killed real easy by wandering a little off the beaten path... it's okay, because there is NO DEATH PENALTY and NO REPAIR COSTS!
Incredibly weird MMO, and that's why it succeeds. It's not trying to be a huge commercial success, so it's not trying to appeal to everyone, which is part of its charm. A short story that might explain why I love it:
Found a group deep in the goblin dungeon and we decided to go as far as we could. We found a riddle on a wall about needing to destroy 7 green crystals within a certain amount of time to unlock a treasure chest. We rushed through, fought strange beholders and mystic deer, ice golems, and crystal turrets, and destroyed all seven. We couldn't find the chest, but there was one last hallway... that flashed an un-ignorable warning out on the screen: BOSS AHEAD, CHANCE OF FATE WORSE THAN DEATH 173%. I had died at this point and was trying to make my way back, but the party pushed forwards and fought a giant Mystical Deer that-mid fight-turned them all into deer. Those with mental-based fighting skills fought on, but those that used swords, shields, daggers etc found themselves unable to fight because they now had hooves instead of hands. Needless to say, they all died, and soon found that they were stuck as deer until they could come back and defeat the boss.
This is not a bad thing.
Deer is actually a valid class, just like knife fighting, sword, psychology, or any of the other ~20 something combat skills. You can level it up and it's actually a pretty great off-tank, with AOE taunt and high mobility.
But many were upset with their fate and asked in global "how do I stop being a deer", but because "beast speech" is yet another skill in this game, at first it came out as "how naaaa I stop naaaa a deer". After leveling up beast speech a bit and some educated guesses later, they found that one NPC sells a very expensive Potion of Un-Deer. The catch? She won't talk to animals. And in fact most NPCs won't talk to or sell to animals. So you have to rely on friends to buy the potion for you, and thus, everyone was thankful I had died before the boss, the lone non-deer who could barter for potions of un-deer.
It was a memorable night.
Amazing game that has the best community!
Grind-centric, ADHD/attention trap where most skills mesh and interconnect with other mostly related skills. Higher tier/level combat skills drop exclusively from randomized loot or are otherwise sold or traded through players/player-owned shops. Very much an old-school MMO, but with a one time purchase and extensive demo that allows leveling of most early game skills but locks you exclusively to early zones and restricts you to only your loot drops. Definitely expect frame drops in cities with a high player count regardless of your system so try the demo before purchasing if you're unsure about performance
You can irreversibly become a lycanthrope and have your chat messages be replaced with howls
DEFINITELY RECOMMEND
I keep logging out thinking im never going to log in this game again
But I keep logging in every day???
To be fair I enjoy this game quite a bit. But there are a lot of areas of the game where it seem's as if they have been completely forgotten. Its overall fun but some of the non combat classes seem to get annoying after a while. Heavily relying on you purchasing from other players which okay. But the cost of things seems harsh for newer players. After progressing a bit it feels better but sometimes the game feels to punishing. Still enjoying my play time.
Also be wary of who you disagree with. If you upset someone you might end up being temp banned. Kind of ridiculous but you can ignore them.
One of the best MMO RPGS right now. It truly captures the feeling of Sandbox, COMPLEX crafting and feel of a real actual MMORPG, Like these were back in the day. This is a true gem. I hope it succeeds. It has been made with love/passion and attention. It deserves attention. A must play. It has completely taken over my life and in a good way. I let it do so and I am having a great time!
Best decision I've ever made. If you long for the nostalgia of oldschool mmos, this game might be what you've been looking for. I've played nearly 100 hours as I post this review and I've barely scratched the surface. This is the lighthearted, fun escape I've been craving and every day I find something else that makes me laugh.
PG doesn't hold your hand and the amount of skills/crafting/etc options will scratch your dopamine itch. Sure, there's standard builds like sword and shield, archery, mages... but you can also do things like use psychology to lecture a mob to death, turn into a deer, or 100 other wacky skills. The community is also A++. Servers are alive, chat is full of goofiness, and people are always down to help out. The only downside is my irl chores have fallen to the wayside because I can't stop playing. While PG may not be everyone's cup of tea, there's a free demo that doesn't hold back. I've played WoW, FFXIV, GW2, etc. but Project Gorgon is my new Forever Home. Much love to the devs for this labor of love, you guys rock!
I don't know what else to say other than I'm obsessed. And for gods sake, drop a pig snout for me already.
10/10
Really fun to play and grind, worth the money to purchase it, check out the demo to see if you would like it!
An MMO that scratches every itch!
First and foremost, my review should not be taken as a full review of the game. It looks great to play, has plenty of systems and things to do. That being said, currently I personally cannot recommend the game due to bugs and issues playing it.
Most issues are easy enough to overlook, lag and such in town being the obvious example. However for whatever reason, and without any consistency the game will freeze for me. Five to ten seconds is a pretty rough hiccup, however when it happens in combat and i'm greeted after a frozen screen with the death overview it becomes very hard to justify. This is also a repeating issue, I ended up dying 4 times to the same low level wolf in a row thanks to game freezes. My pc itself isn't incredible and is a bit dated, however its ability to play modern games like cyberpunk and other MMO titles on the market suggests its not an issue with hardware.
Once again, I hope this is more of an isolated issue so people can enjoy this game, but unfortunately I am currently unable to and can't recommend it as a result.
There is a great deal of crafting diversity, the maps are large enough and the combat is reasonably balanced. Some things take getting used to, like the fact that you can receive quests in what appear to be "beginner's areas" but the quests are impossible for beginners; you have to circle back and finish some of them many levels later.
My only real complaint is that the recent update made nighttime and dark effect areas too dark and lacking in contrast, in my opinion the game is unplayable at certain times. When I find areas like that I either move on to something else in the game or I log completely out of the game and do something else....like write a review. If the dev's would reverse some of the recent darkening, this would probably be one of my top 3 games. As it stands now, I like it but don't love it. I recommend it to anyone who likes complex crafting but I don't highly recommend it, instead I recommend it and say "take it with a grain of salt"
Never been an mmo gamer but the zero hand holding oldschool gameplay is king and idk why
I'm an old Everquest player and was looking for something new, and this fit the bill nicely. Skill system is amazing! Started as a sword/animal handler and just changed to staff/shield. If I ever want to go back to sword or animal handling no problem they will be there. Very nice concept.
I was banned for simply saying in chat that some of the Vision in the game was not helpful to people with Poor eyesight... I was given a lifetime ban for just insisting to the MOD that he should pass this on to the Boss... No swearing no abuse I just repeated my point 3-4 times.... The game needs to take a look at who is running the games MOD's
Most fun i've had playing and MMORPG since wow first came out. Graphics can be a turn off at first, but overall really great game. Tons of skills and things to do. Open world sandbox.
good
Its an excellent game that will waste........i mean cause you to have many hours of enjoyment. 1.Buy it. 2.Play it 3.No regrets unless all the others things you need to do in life are neglect because of it.
Hurts my eyes.
its real good
Completely not woke. Has tons of skills and combinations of play. Wanna be a pig necromancer? You can! Yes, you can be a pig! You can also be a werewolf, deer, cow, and so much more! Changing yourself into animals allows you to gain skills! Who thought of that? It freaking rules! There are even talking sentient mushroom people! You gotta learn their language to understand them though. Top it off with some crazy lore and fun dialogue, you'll never be bored.
The game is good, having a classless game where you just pick up a weapon start using it and getting experience with it. There is bad lag issues even on the new servers.
This game has a ton of content and a really well designed flexible class system. While it looks a lot like old MMORPGs like Everquest, it has a lot of depth and QOL that you'd expect from a modern MMO.
The crafting is deep and meaningful, and there's literally hundreds upon hundreds of recipes to learn.
HOWEVER: This game is one massive grind, and it feels less rewarding at high levels as the grind goes from "takes a few hours to feel like you've made from progress" to "takes weeks to make ANY progress" around level 70 in both crafts and combat. If you're okay with a long repetitive grind, get this now as it is really fun. If you're not, expect to hit the level 70 cliff and quit after a couple of months. I'm definitely in that group and held out to level 80 before quitting.
This may be better in the long run when there's a lot more content to play through, but right now being trapped in the same content to grind over and over for weeks on end just isn't fun.
I have never died more often in any mmorpg then in Project Gorgon. How the mobs add each other is often times simply cruel.
The icons of inventory items do not have a consistent color code, so sometimes its hard to find what you really need in the inventory. You can only press one sort button, but not rearrange items and freely place them on slots, better Inventory sorting and organisation becomes an ability that you have to earn later. I find it ridiculous that flaws in the ui are fixed by having to earn an ability ingame. How about at least one of those folders at the start?
The actionbars are severely limited in slots, there is a sidebar meant for special skills or consumables, but it should be 12 slots by default. There are items, that increase the sidebar slot amount temporarily, but i find that mechanic nonsense. It is a needed and missing UI feature to have enough sidebar slots.
Until you have all abilities of your skills, you will regularly find items that boost abilities, that you do not even have yet. Sure many can be given as gift or deconstructed with transmutation, but until then they clutter your inventory.
Just to not waste anyones time i wrote the obvious negatives of Project Gorgon, so readers might get an idea, if they can get over that or not.
The fact of the current MMORPG market is, that despite all the above, gorgon is still one of the most viable choices for an mmorpg-gamer to invest their attention and commitment into.
The skill system is extensive and this is an understatement. You will get overwhelmed with options, this is made easier, if you know what you really like.
Check the wiki and read through all combat skills and where to learn them.
Take your time, dive into the world, read everything and do not be shy to make friends.
Do this and Project Gorgon could be an mmorpg you can dedicate your attention to.
The more you focus on what you love to do, the more proficient you will become at a more convenient pace.
This focus is important, because you will be faced with the necessity to learn many supportive skills in addition to your combat skills.
Right click on items and use the info window extensively.
I do not recommend this game for players who enjoyed only the current most played mmorpgs, but you can always pick up the demo and check the game out.
I do recommend this game for everyone else wholeheartedly. Are you an mmorpg-gamer for practically your whole gaming life and your current age is around 40+? You might find your game here.
The community of this game is unique and possesses a rich history.
Отличная игра в старом добром стиле.
Fun! I love games where you don't directly pick a starting class, but instead get good at things by doing them. Lots to do and see for only $25 (no subscription required).
TLDR: Don't play if you hate daily quests.
I want to love this game so much, but after 60 hours I just can't bring myself to play anymore, which is sad because I feel like this game has a lot of potential. However, this potential is being squandered by a few borderline game breaking elements. This game had me hooked. The great sandbox design married to an extremely vast skill system is what makes this game so fantastic and addicting. Having played OSRS, I can say this game certainly scratches a particular itch few games can. Now the bad. The combat feels lackluster and unintuitive. I am not sure what the devs are aiming for in this game but it feels like they are discouraging solo play. This is because engaging with mobs in the world will often pull multiple that will aggro from far away. It is often very hard to engage with one to two mobs at a time. This is poor design and discourages any kind of strategic gameplay. The nail in the coffin for me was finding out that daily quests exist at endgame. This completely obliterated any kind of motivation to keep playing. This sticks out like a sore thumb and seems to go against the grain of an "old school MMO." How can you put something like that in a game that encourages exploration and sandbox play?
I would not recommend this game.
good
It's got me, easy to get lost in the sauce. I'll be sticking with this
All around great game. brings back some of the old school mmo
Hell Yah! Finally a developer gets it right!
love it!
Highly recommend this game to any old school MMO enjoyers.
Fantastic game with some unique elements. First MMO in years where I found random group in a random crypt and we were chatting and fighting toghter.
Play the demo and see If you like it - I played the demo for 7 hrs before buying the game.
Looking for a chill MMO experience with a quirky sense of humor and an active community, look no further. Skills based so only a few choices (werewolf for instance) are permanent. Otherwise you build the character you want. Tired of sword and shield and want to be a deer/warden, go for it. No need to start a new character. Want to be a spider/necromancer. Cool, folks will be happy to help you get there. Launch of 1.0 was a little bumpy, but the devs spun up new worlds and outside of weekly special evens that will impact the zone they are in, the game runs fine.
I have never been a pig before. Life changing!
If you love that 2010 MMORPG feeling , with no pay to win this is the game for you me and my buddies have been playing non-stop.
