I really enjoyed the common route on this one, it was hilarious and compelling. The main character is compared to christ to a ludicrous degree, his name is literally Masaya (too close to Messiah). He is sweet and funny and honestly not a real big perv, I found him pretty refreshing in terms of other protags but he is portrayed as a practically flawless human being which is kinda weird. His family life is really an interesting way of bookending the story and overall I think the story is written well enough for a romcom.
I ended up picking the childhood friend for my first playthrough and it started off SO BAD that I had to put the game down for a bit. Thankfully it did get better after that, and while i've not played the rest of them I'm pretty sure the other routes will be enjoyable. (after note: I have finished all of the routes, all of the other routes are great if a little ridiculous in how perfect everything lines up)
To me this VN's production comes off as "we didn't have budget for a full on anime but we were able to cobble together a VN". I feel like if they had just cut out the other girls' routes and made Rise the sole focus as she helps them, it would have been a better product. Admittedly, probably wouldn't have sold as well, but this is the only way I can rationalize them producing this without a Ruriko route.
Didn't work on steam deck/linux very well when I tried it.
tl;dr the art is cute, music is entirely forgettable, and stories are fun if you're able to go with its flow. 7/10

不过可惜的是，本作发售的时间太早了，游戏不支持官方中文。并且Steam全年龄版需配合MangaGamer补丁解锁完整内容（你懂的）。若你能接受这些算不上是缺点的缺点，那这100块钱的票价换来的将是堪比《白色相簿2》的情感震荡。

首先最重要的一点是本作没有中文，只有日语和英语，英语勉强可以啃，但还是建议找个民间补丁，找不到可以用机翻(我之前有一个补丁突然用不了了，后面只能机翻啃)而且steam自带的f12截图键这里也用不了(可能是ui系统比较老的原因)想截图的话可以用壁纸引擎或者电脑自带的截图。

游戏的流程非常长，20多章，在我玩过的这么多gal game中也算很长的，可以选择的线路非常多，与可攻略的女主相对应，有四位之多，剧情进展上不拖泥带水，该有的铺垫一个不少，同时剧情本身很容易理解，大概就是落魄穷小子因为意外遇到了富家千金然后被送去贵族女校上学，而且几位女主的全程配音给我的体验也非常good。

I can't read another word. After chapter 2 finished I was fed up.
I don't mind a visual novel that does something different - I started out thinking the premise seemed like a cool idea - some kid down on his luck with no place to go gets 'rescued' into a school exclusively for girls. Apparently the school has a funding problem and is willing to test opening the doors to boys as well, but the test is based on this single kid.
It starts out innocently enough but the sequence of events is just utter lunacy. No one lets people into their room and then lets themselves get kicked out into the hallway wearing only their underwear, so some b1tch3s search for 'hazardous materials' (porn). No one sees someone they know and get smashed in the face by them, then gets sent to the headmaster to be basically told it was their fault for putting their face in the way of a swinging hand.
THE VERY NEXT DAY HE GETS SMASHED IN THE FACE AGAIN BY THE SAME OLD FRIEND.
I have no more words. Maybe this VN is better suited to girls because this isn't entertaining, it's torture. 0/10 I'm deleting this from my library.
I loved this visual novel until I read through Ayaka's route and the writer revealed his true colors. He abandons everything that he wrote earlier and starts in with the secular theories and conjecture.
Marika is supposed to be beautiful? No. No, she is not. It is the preconceived notion that all blondes are beautiful. Her head is shaped like a light bulb and her hairstyle is ugly. Ritsuko is the best girl.
I have played a Princess Evangile that is not the steam version.

The English writer doesn't know how to use 'scramble' in a sentence. He's always using it and a sentence will make little or no sense when he does.
The writer wrote "hit the lottery", which means to play the lottery, not win it. You say either "win the lottery", "hit the jackpot" or "win the jackpot." The writer had three perfectly good options and chose incorrectly, missing the target completely.
The writer draws his prose from the same tired well that most VN writers draw from. He uses "blown away", "going/moving forward", "reach out" and a bunch of other overused nonsense phrases that have been making the rounds.
狗屎一样的机翻和UI 右键时不时卡住 游戏都关不掉
I only recently finished this VN after having it sit in my library for years. This is not because I disliked it and had to get over it or anything, it just kinda so happened I never bothered.
First things first, the common route of this game is fairly long. You only really start making decisions starting at chapter 13 or something and you basically need to choose the same girl everytime to get into their respective routes.
The VN features 4 heroines, no hidden/side-routes you unlock by clearing someones route like some other games. If you are interested in how romance would go with the other very present side-characters would go: those are all in the fandisc w happiness.
The MC of the VN isn't overly perverted or dislikeable, all in all just a very average guy. His backstory is honestly way out there, but I guess the premise of the story itself, him getting into this girls school, is no different on that end.
The love interest are all likeable and interesting imo. They all have their own personality and charm. I went in the order of Ritsuko, Ayaka, Rise and Chiho, although I think any order would work. I saw someone mention that Ayakas route contains spoilers for Ritsukos route, but honestly it is so minor, that it really doesnt matter. I also kinda wanna stress that there has been routes in other VNs that I only did for the sake of completion, while not really liking the character featured in it, however it didn't feel that way here at all.
I liked all routes for different reasons. Ritsukos imo had a lot of tension at certain points that kept entertained, Ayakas and Rises route had some pretty dramatic elements. The one I liked the least was Chihos because it "wastes" a bit of time to get going, as the other routes are very straight-forward while this one is not as much. Regardless, it was still well written, the pacing threw me off slightly.
I also wanna point out, that the game has something like a built-in glossary, so you can check the majority of french (titles/names) by just clicking on it and get context.
I personally got the Mangagamer Version on sale a while ago after having this in my library for a pretty long time and since there is no patch, that is the way you are gonna have to go, if you want that content as well.
The only things I disliked are QoL stuff, that I am used to at this point. While fullscreen, I wasnt able to tab out, so I had to go to window-mode everytime (which is part of a quick menu but I would prefer this not being an "issue" in the first place). There is, to my knowledge at least, no way to skip from choice to choice, so when you are trying to play the other routes 1. make sure to save at the first one and 2. be prepared to fast-forward to the next since that is the only available option. The resolution also isnt "great" but the VN is on the older side so that is to be expected.
I would recommend this to anyone that likes lighthearted pure love stories with a dash of drama in each character story (well honestly I think some of the routes are also just more dramatic than others). Given the length of the game, I would say the price is also fair, however I'd still recommend waiting for sales. Then again I did buy the game twice.
a fun game that i have replayed a few times in the past. I would recommend this game to anyone into romance or slice of life anime/visual novels.
Honestly this is probably a bit of a strange review coming in from 2023, but I definitely wanted to share my experiences. I've actually had the game I think since around the same time it came out, but just never really committed to it because I was a bit too young to really grasp the more geared towards adult themes of the story.
Overall, it is a very good game, the characters all have a unique charm to them, each of their stories are all wonderful and honestly pretty deep at some points. I can personally relate to the main protagonist Masaya, where growing up in an environment without really truly being able to make friends and having that desire definitely struck a cord with me.
There is a "common route" where the first 13 Chapters are all the same main story though with a few minor differences in dialogue and interactions when you pick a certain girl (which you have to pick the same one about 5 times in a row or else the game will just literally tell you it's a bad end). After the common route is where each character whom you can romance has their own unique stories, where generally there's the overall plot that's the same, but you really get to dive into a lot of different personal things pertaining to each character. It's honestly, very charming.
My only real complaint, is that once you focus on one romantic interest, they become the hard focus of the rest of the game. You don't really get to see too many major interactions with all of the rest of the cast, it just feels a little bit forced. Though none of it is inherently a bad thing, I just wish there was more opportunity to explore a bit more of their personal lives outside of just the major dramatic points.
There is also a part of me that feels a little bit empty after playing it, I decided to do every girl's route, because each route genuinely does explore unique interactions and story threads that are really truly worth engaging in each of them. But, the part that feels a little sad is that You don't really get to see it all pan out as one true ending, it's 4 different endings. And some of the stuff that happens in each ending, without spoilers of course, feels very significant and important to each character. It just feels a little, sad that not every feeling of each ending can be explored in a true ending way, so it does ring a little hollow just feeling like when you do finish one of their endings, you kind of have to pick in your mind which one is the "most canon" Which, is pretty hard when each story is all profound and wonderful in their own way.
Honestly though, that may just be the nature of the visual novel genre as a whole, if you are supposed to have a choice as a player. It does make a ton of sense as to why it feels that way, A lot of changes would need to happen to each story if the entire narrative was the same, since obviously, there wouldn't be dialogue for you dating 4 people at the same time (though that could be an interesting bad end), though I think the nature of the game and how profound each of the character's stories are, would maybe lend itself to be a little less profound if it were changed too. I'm still very happy to have been able to experience all of their stories and such, though I just wish that it didn't leave me feeling so empty.
I feel like the ending (again no spoilers), does conclude at the same point regardless of the route you go, the difference being which romantic partner you picked, though and again maybe it is the nature of being romantically attached to that character for that story, it does really feel like it just kind of ends. It is a conclusion and I guess the real conflict is dealt with, but it still makes me sad and want more if that makes sense. Which probably means the story and writing were really good though haha!
Masaya is definitely a little bit dense, he does have that "Anime Protagonist who is oblivious and indecisive" energy, but the fact he genuinely does mean well is also a very admirable trait. And it is an anime visual novel after all. I did have some good laughs during some of the dialogue moments as well, though sometimes the delivery did feel a little off, especially when a joke that works really well in Japanese, doesn't quite make as much sense in English in certain contexts.
This has all been a super long winded ramble about a near decade old visual novel game. I do recommend picking it up, though perhaps purchase the "W Happiness version." It has more content in what I believe is 5 "Alternative" routes with a selection of the other female characters in the game (also there's I believe an 18+ patch if that's something you would be interested in). I will probably give that a purchase myself when I feel my loneliness for this game's story set in a bit haha.

My review might be biased because I highly adore the elite all-girls academy (sometimes religious) setting like the anime [spoiler] Maria Holic, Ladies vs Butlers, Haganai, Mashiro-iro Symphony, Shomin Sample etc. [/spoiler] so please proceed with a grain of salt. This is my first galge (gal / bishoujo game) review on Steam, where I actually finish all the heroine routes.
[h1] The Plot [/h1]
Princess Evangile starts with your average [strike] bland self-insert [/strike] MC (main character), Masaya Okonogi, who is at his wit's end as he is caught in a debt-ridden situation caused by his dad that already run away. Then his life turned upside down when he met one of the story's main heroines, Rise Rousenin, who he did save from a somewhat "perilous" situation. She instantly invited him to attend the elite all-girls catholic Vinceness academy, to become the "male commoner sample".
The whole plot starts there as our MC meet a lot of attracting main heroines and side heroines. The story is centered around how Rise wants to integrate the school to become co-ed. Enjoy up to 15-20 hours of main story (common route), where you will meet different main and side heroines as you progress to each chapter of the story. Experience the small drama theater of all-girls school conflict, goofiness, and romance comedy. Almost all heroines in the main story chapters have their own screen time, making you care about them a lot and wonder why there's no routes for them. Each main heroine routes have its own story to tell, including some plot twist and more world-building as you proceed to read their story. The main selling point of Princess Evangile is all about the all-girls academy's cultural gap with the ordinary outside world. The main stories and routes cover different themes surrounding the academy, starting from family affairs, girl-to-girl problematic friendship, breaking one's shell, following the family's footsteps, self-acceptance, to breaking old standards [spoiler] and many arranged marriages. There are only four main heroine routes in the game. There are no actual bad routes as the game will tell you,"This is a bad end, please try again to get the heroine routes." and that's it, no more explanation to the story.
I recommend playing them following the order from the top-to-below style according to what the game represents you. It's also okay to play which one you like the most, but it could potentially spoil the story as you might not understand some part of it when you progress through.
Every route follows the same main events happening in the academy, like the school festival, sports festival, the votes etc. The difference is that every route has different outcomes as the main heroine and the MC, need to interact differently with the academy environment. You can play up to 6-7 hours of each main heroine routes.
1. Rise Rousenin - the brightest student like the sun, determined to change the academy.
Rise story is what I consider what Princess Evangile is all about. The conflict, the comedy, the drama, the relationship of the heroine to the academy, and how it starts with the presence of the MC, it's all there. I played this route first because it's what I feel I need to do after progressing the common route towards the end.
2. Chiho Sagisawa - the childhood friend who have hard time accepting herself in the academy.
Chiho story is kinda like pushing how you want to start her route after Rise. More context is given and what's actually happening with Chiho and Masaya's family, where Rise is out of the frame.
3. Ritsuko Kitamikado - the tight stick-to-the-rules little sister who thinks has her life planned.
Ritsuko story is like how someone presence in life can change them 180 degrees even with the same personality, making them a better person even if it's considered bad by others.
4. Ayaka Kitamikado - the easy-going older sister who have hard time finding her place in the academy.
Ayaka story is telling more about accepting the past and how you need to stop pretending as if nothing happened to communicate better with others. There will be a lot of [spoiler] family drama, soap opera like [/spoiler] in this route.
If I try to rate the story I would say Rise > Ayaka > Ritsuko / Chiho. I feel like Ritsuko and Chiho route towards the end contain heavy use of [spoiler] deus ex machina [/spoiler] and the [spoiler] damsel-in-distress [/spoiler] situation.
[h1] Art, Music, Characters [/h1]
The art is exquisite even after 11 years (original Japan release in 2011), you will get a lot of CGs and cute chibi arts from the common route and more CGs from each heroine route. The soundtrack and SFX are on point with the scenes going on, and there's nothing out of place that is worth mentioning.
All the heroines are cute and lovable, you can't dislike them. You can identify each heroine quickly with their way of speaking and how they interact with the MC. I can say with certainty that it's hard to mistake one of them for the other with how different they are. They act with a different goal in mind that have good chemistry with each other. That's why their daily conversations are always interesting to see. Unfortunately, the side characters (mostly one-time villains) are not well-written and it's just like forcing you to hate them with how they are act and voiced, a convenient plot device to keep the story moving.

[b] This game is the All-ages version, the only way to obtain the 18+ version is by buying the physical copy directly from MangaGamer. [/b] There is no patch like other visual novels on steam since it's counted as a different game. Luckily, the all-ages version contains some additional scenes for the routes to replace the nudity. I didn't feel a lot of character developments are missing by not getting "some scenes", as it's mostly there on the conflict going on each routes.
The story might be not be for some people who look for a heavy and serious plot. Princess Evangile is meant to be played light-heartedly where you don't need to overthink to enjoy the story.
The game engine is quite old, so you can't use steam overlay and there are no steam achievements (it's a thing for some people).

Princess Evangile is a hidden-gem visual novel that isn't that popular like other VNs on steam, but it's definitely worth a look. The game offers not too much in terms of a "mind-blowing" story, but it's good enough to make you think, "why they don't make a 12 or 24 episodes anime of this?"
The game is friendly to everyone who just started dipping their toes to galge. You will be introduced to many trope (read: dere types) heroine characters that you will meet a lot in other VNs.
I wholeheartedly recommend the game for sure.

Princess Evangile is a really high quality moege with a very atmospheric setting. As other reviews mention, there is an 18+ version which you may be more interested in, but even if you are craving some simple romance this should be able to settle that itch, 18+ or not. The routes are quite varied, and for the girls you wish had a route they have a fan disk also on Steam to amend this issue. Whilst the story plays it quite safe, it's still an enjoyable experience however if you already have a ton of moege under your belt this one doesn't do anything particularly new to stand out.

A quite enjoyable game, with great characters and decent drama. Many of the solutions to the drama tend to be more hand-wavy and humorous than realistic, but honestly I found that it works with the generally light-hearted and optimistic tone of this game.
A wonderful little slice of life game
My favorite girl is romancable in W Happiness the spin-off game which I also recommend, however I love this game. Every single route is marvelous, and while it has been a long time since I played last I still remember enjoying the writing for each character. The comedy was a hit quite regularly. The emotional pay-off at the end of each route is super satisfying as well. This is a VN I recommend for anyone that enjoys a good romance VN.

Whether you want to play this for the base version or unlock the 18+ patch, this game is an example of what every visual novel should strive to be. Get this if you're even a tiny bit interested. 10/10.
i hate the headmistress with every fiber of my being
One of a few visual novel that made me feel the passage of time, Princess Evangile was a long journey. What impress me the most was how colorful the cast and how very arcs was built up carefully and detailed. The message about changing and facing the future was very well conveyed. The girls were cute but a too “perfect” protagonist was a bit plain for me. Slice of Life moments were good but over the top drama involving crime and religious turned me off bit. Nevertheless, it was still a pretty good visual novel.

I must admit, now i kinda feel bad for buying it on sale, instead of full price.

Top Visual Novel
This might be longer than I planned. So before you continue reading - answer one question.
Are you here for cute girls?
If yes - then just buy the game. Even for full prize. Heroines and side characters (but I'm just talking about students) are well written, have their stories, personalities, good and bad sides. Add to that good voice acting!
If you expect All ages version - then maybe it's not really good game for you. It's filled with sugestive talks, pantyshots and stuff like that. Sex scenes were cut off and some minor details are lacking but it's still not what I would call "all ages" version.
Other thing is h-patch witch.. does not exist. Because why allow people to patch game if they can buy DLC aka Fan disc aka PE W Happiness (and patch it for H-scenes). Somebody here really wants your money I guess.
Now to things that caused this review to be negative.
Main character (MC) and plot.
I just hate MC. In contrast every female character in game loves MC (except servants of evil ofc). He is described as Mr. Perfect all the time. Even compared to Jesus Christ. In the meantime he behaves like total idiot.
Plot is terrible. It has more holes than Emmentaler. Mafia is trying to hurt MC? He wins fight by being lucky.. 3 times in a row. Huge debt? Winning lottery ticket! Huge blood loss? No problem - plot armor is there for happy ending :3
Whoever was writing it should abandon the idea of quoting bible and basically whole christianity background. Writers should do their homework before writing stuff like that. It screams "FAKE" each time it appears. Also some research about how schools actually work would be nice. I don't believe that any school head would allow to steer boat or work as lifeguard for student without proper permissions or something like that.
What else? That's minor issue - but it's not a dating sim. It's more like kinetic VN (you just have to choose one of 4 routes in the middle of the game). Most choices are fake. For example - you can either help the damsel in distress or not. If you choose to help - MC helps her. If you choose to not - then MC says that it's not his business, walks away... and then says that it's not in his style and helps her anyway..
Other choices that I hate are choices that doesn't change anything... but are counted towards reaching certain route. For example MC have to choose one of the girls to kiss.. but then does nothing. Remember to save at first choice like that - you will have to choose the same girl all the time or you will get bad ending. That's painfull when it comes to replaying and aiming for different route. You have to change decission in all choices - even if you play on full auto and max speed - reaching new route from first choice will take about 1 hour... So be sure that you have something to read to kill the itme.
Music is forgettable.
Same with backgrounds.
Steam overlay is not working and you can't alt+tab the game.
To sum up. All effort put in this game was placed upon creating waifu material. Every other aspect of this VN is poorly made.
Two things are pretty important to know about this:
1. Ruriko is the arguably the best girl and doesn't get a route. To add insult to injury she is even the banner picture after buying the game. In fact there are a lot of side characters that get just as much screen time as the main four that don't get routes. This game was practically designed so you'd buy the fandisk (Princess Evangile W Happiness) so you could get your particular waifu (9 total routes in that as opposed to the 4 here).
2. This is a censored all ages version. I ignored this game for years because of that. However the H content is so vanilla and boring it is no great loss. You won't even see anything for probably 13+ hours it is not the focus of the game at all. You can download the uncut game and drag and drop overwriting the files to play the uncut game on Steam. No official patch exists to uncensor it. The uncensored version also has no mosaics but it doesn't look so good.
This game has 4 routes and is told in 26 chapters like an actual anime. The first 13 are the common route and take about 11 hours to read. The last 13 are for whichever girl you chose and are about 5 hours long.
The story is nothing special and is something you've probably seen before (1 boy in an all girls setting). It has some humor and the characters are pretty entertaining. 4 main girls but there are just as many side characters that get just as much screen time. At least 3 of the chapters in the common route are focused almost completely on the side characters. There is forced dumb drama every once in awhile and I only bothered to do one route because of it. Rise is probably the cannon girl for story reasons but I chose Ayaka.
The art isn't bad but I find it has a generic anime look. The characters aren't that detailed and neither are the backgrounds. The characters only have a few actual sprite poses so it gets old after awhile. Those same poses do have a few different clothing variations though.
The music was 100% forgettable. The voice acting was decent with nothing really standing out but also nothing bad.
I enjoyed my time but I don't care to read the other 3. I'll just look up a summary.

Weeb Novels Good
First, ignore the playtime, I have the non-Steam version as well and played through that.
Princess Evangelie is an excellent romance VN that, for me, hits all the right notes and is strong in almost every area. Of course, you have to be willing to suspend a little disbelief about the premise of a boy suddenly enrolling in an exclusive private all-girls' school and the happenings there, but I don't think this ask is any bigger than those of many TV dramas. And once you buy in, you'll find a vibrant cast of characters and compelling stories full of warmth, drama, and romance waiting for you.
PE's greatest strength is its heroines. All four are vibrant, developed characters with their own strengths, weaknesses, dreams, and fears. From the brilliant sincerity and shy naivety of Rise to the quiet resolve of Ritsuko, they feel breathed full of life. Because of this, the relationships that you build as the MC, Masaya, have an authentic feel of give-and-take with risk and vulnerability on both sides, rather than the girl throwing herself at the MC while he risks nothing, a failing that is all too common in VNs, and this ultimately to leads to well written and satisfying romance arcs. After a common route which is about 50% of the game, each heroine has a unique branching storyline. Rise's story in particular is outstanding, fitting for the "princess evangelist." I enjoyed the other routes as well, even if they did not achieve quite the same heights for me.
The other aspects of the game nicely complement primary heroines and their romance arcs. The pacing is excellent. The timeframe of the story stretches out over a year, and the game provides the right amount of scenes to bring school life at Vincennes to life and show the development of the characters' relationships without getting bogged down in mundane detail. The secondary characters are of course not as developed as the MC and the heroines, but they complement the main cast and play their roles well, whether for humor, antagonism, or character growth. The CGs, while not super HD and unable to compare to something like Hoshi Ori Yume Mirai, are attractive, and the voice actors play their parts with gusto. I also particularly like that PE's bgm is more sweeping and melodic than those of most VNs I have played. I think it heightens the emotional impact.
The version I played was the 18+ version, while this steam version is all ages. I don't think that the 18+ scenes are necessary to enjoy the story, but I found them to be surprisingly romantic and well written, rather than excessively purient.
Before I finish, I want to address a few criticisms of PE that I often see and don't agree with.
1. Masaya is a boring loser - I don't think so, unless you're going by "red pill" standards. He is certainly very different from say, Yuuji of the Grisaia games. Yuuji is forceful, aggressive, and a massive ♥♥♥♥, and so engages in much more active controlling behavior. Masaya is kind, trusting, and relatively laid back, and so more willing to roll with the punches. I think his kindness and trust are, on balance, good things and contribute to his developing authentic feeling relationships with the heroines. Additionally, he will and does take strong, decisive action when something important is on the line. He is also much more willing to take on risk and give up control to help his friends/girl than Yuuji, who constantly tries to be in control of everything and minimize risk to himself.
2. Some of the happenings at school aren't realistic - I mean, yes, on the surface, but that's true of so many books, movies, and TV shows. Furthermore, as someone who grew up going to single-sex private schools, many of the things that happen feel simply like exaggerated versions of the kinds of things that did happen in my schools. Families did use money or privilege to bend the school administration unfairly to their will or for political reasons sometimes. Certain students could get away with more because they had connections or a reputation. I didn't find it difficult at all here to suspend disbelief. No more so than I would watching a TV drama like Good Morning Call.
3. Misato is absurdly evil - Again, she's definitely an antagonist, but I think the role she plays in PE is very similar to the one Snape plays in Harry Potter. Regardless of what Snape does in the end, he spend 6 years being unnecessarily cruel to Harry and his friends for personal reasons that don't have anything to do with Harry himself, and none of the other adults at the school do much to stop him.
All that being said, if you are a fan of romance, drama, slice of life, or VNs, I can't recommend Princess Evangelie enough. Even though it may seem silly on the surface, it has heart and delivers where it counts.
Disclaimer: I got to Chapter 10 (About 7 hours in) and had to uninstall. It's a very well done visual novel but it has some severe story problems that don't make any sense and pull you out of the immersion.
This is going to be a quick review just so you can get the gist of why I don't think this is for everyone.
First of all, design wise the novel is great. It's fully (and very well done) voiced, the translations are good, the graphics are great and the soundtrack is wonderful. Design wise it's really up there in terms of the sheer amount of effort put in so there is no worries there.
The story, unfortunately, is completely unreliable, full of holes and uninteresting characters. Maybe they get interesting later on but I think 7 hours in is enough to tell whether or not you like something.
The story follows Masaya (you, the protagonist) after a series of events that end up getting him enrolled in a highly prestigious all girls school. Less and less students due to it's cost and selective admission so the school wants to trial what it would be like to accept boys in. You are scouted by the one of the Student Body presidents after helping her randomly on the street and after getting accepted, you and her try gain popularity among the students before the end of the year as a vote will be called to decide whether or not to accept boys. It's interesting (if a little unoriginal) but it has some serious flaws.
- Most of the characters, even the main ones (and all the unseen ones in the school) don't want any interaction with boys at all. For some reason they just hate men and think they're all perverts, as if they're oblivious to the fact that they will eventually graduate and, you know, get jobs where they'll have to interact with men. They treat men and boys as foreign, disgusting species.
- The president of the council that opposes boys joining the school is one of the main characters. She's vehemently trying to stop you from joining yet has no problem having lunch with you and the other girls, making conversation and participating in activities with you.
- This is supposed to be an 18+ visual novel, yet it's completely unrelatable to anyone over 18. You, a guy, joins an all girls school and instantly gets a harem and has to spend a year trying to persuade probably 500+ all girls students to like you, even though you only ever talk with like 6 of them. You efforts and achievements are written about in the school paper, so none of the students are even going to have first hand experience with you.
- The students constantly talk about things not allowed to be done in the school, yet constantly break those rules with 0 consequences.
- All the characters are tsudere except for one. They all have almost exactly the same personality, none of them admitting they like you and just waiting for you to say you want to date them. Sure, if it is one or two girls then fine but having all the main characters be like that? There ARE other personalites in life.
Overall I recommend the visual novel for it's design, but not for it's story. If you're into high school romance novels then sure, this is a great one. But it's very long (around 40+ hours) and nothing interesting happens for at least 8 hours.
For me personally, this visual novel is not anything mind blowing at all, but it was still a very enjoyable read. If you enjoy just relaxing and reading some moe-blob to kill time, then you will enjoy this.
The common route is very long, but very fun. Then the routes themselves had their ups and downs. Some of them felt like they were dragging a little. I personally feel that Ritsuko and Ayaka's routes were the best routes. I struggled to get past Rise's route. Chiho's was alright.
I feel that this VN's weakest point is its soundtrack. None of them really stood out. The use of it during the drama moments didn't really fit in all the time either, but it wasn't all too bad during comedy scenes though.
On the bright side, this VN does have an awesome cast of characters, 'some' awesome routes, and lovely art. I'm off to read Princess Evangile W Happiness now. As I would like to see the routes for the other girls too :D

STOP! If you are reading to find out if you should buy this game or not... The answer is: YES! 100%! I won't lie, I was kind of skeptical at first, worried the characters might be super stereotypical, and everything would just be all cutesy. I was WRONG. Each character gave off different emotions with each story, and each story I fell in love with and connected with. I especially connected with Asuka's story. The romance is a LITTLE rushed once you start each heroine's route, but not to the point where you lose interest, which you definitely won't especially with each story. I'd rate the characters in order like this: Rise, Asuka, Chiho, and then Ritsuko. Rise's story definitely was the most tense and thrilling. However, I like Asuka's character more, as I connect with her on a personal level. Chiho's romance was a little iffy. Ritsuko's kinda killed me inside until the end because I was dying for more romance to happen, which it didn't really until the final chapters. Overall, I'd rate , 9.5/10, the only reason being that I wish they had a little more build up on the romance for Chiho and Ritsuko, but other than that, I literally stayed up for two days taking my time going through each character. Was 100% worth. Highly recommend.

I'm a sucker for wholesome stories with realistic attributes despite its emphasize of fantasy. Thats exactly what Princess Evangile is and all i could hope for is that some time down the line this game gets remade to look ans sound even better. If you want a great story of hijinks and love, this is your game.
I'm an avid reader of visual novels and this is probably one of the best I've read to this day, beaten only by Katawa Shoujo, at least so far.
The characters in this story have some real depth to them. Its not just another "This girl has the attitude, this girl is the bubbly idiot, this girl is the quiet and reserved one" situation. Yes, the girls do match those stereotypes in a lot of ways but there's also so much more to them and the backstories that you uncover while reading really gives you insight into who they really are and what they've been through.
however, one of the characters can come off a bit annoying and for those of you who have read this already, you probably know the green haired pain in the neck in particular who I'm referring to.
The story is quite long and has a lot of content to keep you reading without making you feel that its just a bunch of filler. There are a few points that kind of feel that way but they're fairly rare and far between. Not nearly enough to make this a terrible experience.
I love how it flows very well but I do wish the choices that lead to different routes was a bit more diverse and complex. Then again, perhaps that's just me being spoiled by Katawa Shoujo.
The way you access each route is that you simply pick which girl you're thinking about or who you like in a handful of events, which is fine but you have to pick that same girl each and every time in order to gain access to a character route. If that's how they wanted it to be set up, then why not just give you a single choice to make late in the main route?
Regardless of that, there are plenty of different and even intense moments that make this story a joy to read and I highly recommend it.
There is, of course, the issue with the W Happiness continuation... But that's a review for another game.

Quite possibly the most lovable cast of characters I have ever come across.
Over the course of this visual novel you will find yourself experience a wide range of emotions.
At times I found myself feeling Genuine sadness, anger, or embarrassment. But most of the time I found myself laughing or melted into my seat by the overwhelming display of cute that has bombarded my senses.

Almost everything within the story and characters is tropey and formulaic, but I have never seen said tropes done better anywhere else. Every scene is like magic.

The Story so far is really good, I enjoyed every seccond and it was kind of relaxing.
[code]You are Masaya-san and about to end at street, followed by debt collector. You walk around city, no place to return as you suddenly find a Girl troubled by a group of males (?) bodyguards....
One leads to the next and you find yourself in a All-Girls School which tries to change from All-Girls to a integrated school to escape their financial problems. But the most girls don't want boys on their school. Will you change their opinions and do you finally find a place you can call home? [/code]
To avert spoilers I don't go further in the Story. But thats roughly the start.
This Game contains 4 Routes and over 50hrs Gameplay ( I mean I just finished Rises-Route and I have around 50hrs... But I'm also a slow reader so... deceide for your own. You should still have over 50hrs Gameplay. )

And a major problem I have is(with Rises Route):

The Problem with Rise and her mother was solved in around one chapter, which left a threadbare taste of quickly finishing and ending. Kind of putting a 24 ep Anime in 12, but the 12 extra episodes are all in the last episode.
I kind of overlook this, because in the end it was still a good game and... "still a better lovestory than twilight". It is just... a bit disapointing ...
Like I said, it has a bland aftertaste in the otherwise great and amazing story. [/spoiler]
Besides that, nothing else which really disturbed me.

Parto con una premessa, ho comprato questa versione senza sapere che vi era una "steam edition" della stessa che, oltre le prime 4 route ne comprende altre 5, indi per cui se siete intenzionati a comprarvi questo gioco procuratevi la versione completa, cosa che ho fatto in seguito e che a breve comincerò a giocare.

Parlando di questa versione, che ho completato definitivamente da qualche minuto, posso dire che mi hanno colpito lo stile della grafica, la caratterizzazione dei personaggi e l'articolazione della trama, con tanto di rapporti tra le famiglie dei vari protagonisti antecedenti i fatti narrati nel gioco.
Parlando della trama vi dico solo di non aspettarvi chissà quali scelte durante il gioco, in pratica si tratta di decidere al fianco di chi e tramite la prospettiva di quale ragazza, vi troverete a proseguire la storia.

Per finire un bel gioco, del quale consiglio la versione completa, o steam edition che dir si voglia, a tutti coloro i quali intendono godersi un racconto con diversi ed articolati punti di vista.

Princess Evangile can best be described as your typical slice of life galge with added drama scattered throughout the plot. It is divided into two parts, with the common route having you getting to know all the girls, while the second part is mainly about getting closer to the girl of your choice. Nothing out of the ordinary here. However, despite the fact that the plot is fairly bland and straightforward, it achieves what it set out to do and manages to stay interesting most of the time.
[b]+[/b] As one would expect from a VN of this type, Evangile has both decently fleshed out characters and a mostly proper story. I especially enjoyed the chapter conclusions which included a little jingle and art to make you reflect over what you just saw. The story itself is generally consistent, with characters occasionally looking back to past events and drawing conclusions based on them. Characters are also not particularly annoying, with the exception being Konomi. However, it should also be noted that the story is fundamentally eccentric and over the top, which I can definitely see causing disinterest amongst some people.
[b]+[/b] While the Steam version is missing some events from the 18+ version in the form of hentai, it is still a fully enjoyable experience if you don’t care for them. If you do want them though, it’s possible to mod them in. However, keep in mind that there’s only a handful of scenes for each character that only really appear towards the end of the story, which mainly exist to further prop up the scenarios and characterise the relationship with the girl you’ve chosen. So, if you intend to play this for the H-scenes, I’d definitely recommend you looking elsewhere.
[b]+[/b] It took me roughly 50h to complete the common route and one of the diverging routes. It’s worth keeping in mind however that I read VNs by clicking autoplay and watching them through fully, in order to immerse myself in the story. A friend of mine went through two routes in less than 14h, but he also skipped voicelines and sped through a couple of parts. Playtime will therefore be based on your own preference while reading VNs.
[b]-[/b] Rarely do you get any interesting choices. At times characters are in conflict and they will ask for the opinion of Masaya (you), but he simply answers vaguely. Extra choices, as meaningless as they would be, would inject even more life into an already lively story. If this had also expanded into you having any input over the trials he has to pass, it would’ve been great as well. About the only decisions you do make are related to which girl you want to pursue, and they are very blatant.
[b]-[/b] Some observations. Like other VNs with childhood friends, Chiho doesn’t get enough background before her route to make that fact more known. Ruriko doesn’t have her own route, which was a bit strange considering how much focus she had gotten compared to the other side characters up until the first choice. Occasional issues with things being said by the wrong person, or duplicate sentences. Spelling is generally consistent, with few errors.
I would therefore recommend Princess Evangile if you enjoy VNs of this type. Within its genre, it is about average, but also probably one of the better ones that are available on Steam. Kinetic stories themselves are not inherently bad, but dating sims in general would benefit a lot from having more choices. Some things are a little cringe and Masaya gets into quite questionable situations from time to time, but I feel that these things add to the type of story this is. It’s not supposed to be too realistic, and I appreciate that the story itself realizes that and doesn’t take itself too seriously either.
With that said, Ritsuko is a conservative bible-reading atheist. That also objectively makes her best girl.
I have already started reading this VN outside of steam, but decided to pick it up during the 2019 steam summer sale, and I can gladly say that I was able copy the 18+ game files, and play the 18+ version of Princess Evangile through steam. The story is very good for what I've gotten through (the first two chapters) and has very cute characters. I also plan on purchasing Princess Evangile WHappiness-(contains an epilogue for the heroines in the first game, and I believe it includes routes for the remaining girls in the game)-when I complete the first game that way I get the full experience of Princess Evangile. Just FYI Princess Evangile WHappiness has a 18+ patch on mangagamer's website. I look forward to continue reading this VN.

游戏在文本方面诚意足到令人不适，长达16章的共通线，和10章的个人线，很需要花点时间才能完全体验。这个章节也很像是模仿半年番来的，章节之间的节奏感也恰到好处，整体阅读体验连贯而流畅。
然而本作没有汉化，据我所知也没有民间汉化组接手，虽然英文文本+日语语音还是能供一般的日呆玩家顺利阅读的，但是能够阅读不代表看得爽，尤其配合着多到爆炸的剧情内容，内心一股mmp……

[h1]高质量的音画方面[/h1]
立绘、常规CG、Q版图，游戏都展示出了很高的品质。虽然由于年代的原因，人物的画风略显古老，从现在来看似乎大了些的眼睛略微违和，但并不能掩盖游戏本身的美术质量。人物线条流畅，用色鲜亮，层次感强，角色立绘的服装、表情、动作种类都不算少，减少了游戏体验中的枯燥感。CG也是数量足质量高，人物表情活灵活现，但是场景的细节表现略显不足。另外游戏的Q版CG也值得一提，诙谐的表现让充满欢乐的日常又增加了不少笑点。
配音方面虽然熟面孔不多，阵容可能算不得豪华，但日式专业配音的水准仍毋庸置疑，人物的阳光、忧愁、感动、悲伤，各种情绪借由CV之口都很好地传达给了玩家，成为了角色魅力的一个重要组成部分。
游戏的UI界面美观性也相当好，尤其是快捷键设置板块的中古打字机画面，很有感觉。其余方面的设定繁杂但全面，且版面布置紧凑，美观性和实用性都挑不出毛病（我会说我一开始老半天找不到音量在哪么）。

If you're looking for a visual novel that has an amazing story that would get you glued to your seat for more then you might want to find something else.
But for those of you looking for a visual novel that allows you to turn your brain off and allow you to enjoy cute girls? Then this is that game for you!
I'll never ever forget Vincennes. The cast is impressive, 9 detailed heroines but just 4 routes (Rise, Chiho, Ritsuko, Ayaka) to date the other 5 girls (Ruriko, Konomi, Marika, Mitsuki, Tamie) you have to get the W Happiness version together with this one.
I spent over 70 hours reading and still wanted more, so much that I went to buy the W Happiness right after. Common route was perfect and each heroine route as well, with the perfect balance between happiness and sadness, true love scenes and the obstacles your character will face to make it happen. They even give you a good background and believable explanation to why you ended up the only boy in an all girls school.
Rise's voice is so good, pleasing to hear, luckly she is by far the one who speaks the most. On the opposite Ayaka's voice sounded like it was recorded on a pretty bad mic, I neraly wanted to mute her which is kinda sad but in no ways ruined my experience.
Other than that the only issue I have is with the choices, 5 total choices and each time you just have to pick one of the 4 girls, The problem is that the first 3 times doesn't change anything at all and then if you didn't pick the same girl every single time the game just kicks you to the menu after the common route ends, no bad endings. That's really stupid, I hate when they do that, why not just put one choice at the very end of the common route then?
Still, that VN raised the bar really high for me in the most important aspects.
*sigh*... Still waiting for Steam to implement a non-binary rating system.
Anyway, I'd say this game is decent, but not great. It's REALLY long, so if you find it at all interesting, it won't be a waste of your money. But the pacing suffers somewhat for it. It does a pretty good job of being a pointedly non-ecchi rom-com in the common route, but I didn't find the individual heroine routes very engaging.

目前的评价：人设尚可，剧情不错，音乐与配音出色，但最要命的是没有中文，啃英文有一定难度，本来想刷个 I need Chinese，估计也没多大希望了，推荐给对英文有自信的宅友

Great visual novel. Well-written, vibrant characters, interesting plots, and intriguing concept. So, the gist is that Rise, a student of Vincennes Private Girls Academy has snuck out to try and find a perfect specimen for reform of her school (this has been allowed up to a point because of the wish to vote on reform vs. tradition). She comes across Masaya… or more to point Masaya sees her being assaulted by a gang of toughs (though that later turns out to have been the female security of the Academy) and rescues her… and thinking that she has found a perfect candidate wrangles him in as the first male to attend… well, more like a trial specimen.
Forces in both the staff and student body do not like the idea of change (and the idea of a boy running around an all-girls school less) try to stymie this effort, and even get rid of the irritant as soon as possible.
And it isn’t like Masaya didn’t have problems before when his deadbeat dad dumped his 50-million-yen debt on him… And beginning to have flashbacks to a past tragedy.
For the most part the student opponents are rather decent (or at least become that way after shaking off certain influences) in their approach. One of the staff… not so much.
There are four available love interests. Rise’s has the most info on that tragedy as she was involved, and can be a bit… chaotic. Ayaka is a girl one grade higher, while her sister Ritsuko is a grade lower (and also the head of the Association [student group] opposing change). And then there is Chiho, the childhood friend. Of the paths, I think I liked Chiho’s the best, with Ritsuko close behind.
Each of the routes features at least one parent of the students being varying levels of insanity or evil. Of note, Ritsuko and Ayaka’s mother is the Headmistress… and depending of the route she is varying levels of awful. In Rise’s she seems a bit tragic, whereas in Ritsuko’s… she’s a full-on ♥♥♥♥♥. Kind-of sad as she is one of the more prominent Christians in the game. (There are others who are good Christians in the game. And a lot of people that aren’t Christians but act more Christian.)
There do not seem to be any bad endings, with Masaya pledging forever with his chosen love interest. And well… [spoiler]reform passes in all the routes[/spoiler].
Highly recommend this game. Note: Got a free key for buying the Limited Edition… which is the uncensored version. (The love scenes were done well for the most part.) (I will also note that the opening video includes a few images from those love scenes, though with any “naughty” bits covered.)
Heck, I decided to go through the Steam version (mostly to get screenshots of funny moments), and have found myself again rereading the text (and that’s after going through the “common route” of the fan disc.)
(Though some of the choices for replacement CGs are a bit strange… Take Chiho for instance. Instead of the ten CGs for the five love scenes, you get a CG of her showering [with strategically placed steam] and then one of her sitting on Masaya’s abdomen in a dress shirt.)
Princess Evangile is a very fluffy rom-com with bits of drama sprinkled in. The first half is your typical rom-com setting as the main character adjusts to life at an all girls school, but the second half leads into the more drama heavy character routes.
On the whole, everything is presented very nicely and it quickly gets you into the swing of things. The only extreme negative about the story is the headmistress. I don't know why they thought it would be a good idea to write the most obnoxiously unlikeable character in the history of ever and constantly have her inserted into sections throughout the story. Her motives are completely obscured until end sections of particular character arcs, and even with that info out in the open it doesn't change the fact that her actions throughout the story were highly illogical and served nearly no purpose whatsoever in the grand scheme of things.
While that is the only significant detractor from the experience, the rest is very enjoyable and fun. Princess Evangile still remains one of my favorite stories 3 years after my original read-through!
Princess Evangile is a good visual novel game. It has a strong cast of characters and an interesting plot. It's also got some rather amusing scenes, let's take Chapter 19 from Rise's route for example, Masaya sends a grown man flying with a single blow! Anyway, the art style is really neat, although I think the SD art is, to be frank, a bit on the crappy side. But then, that's coming from someone who isn't fond of SD art as a concept.
I was kind of surprised at how heavy-duty the censoring of the steam edition is- I think it's just because Moonstone must do more heavy-duty censoring for their games than for example, Sekai Project. But I don't quite get why they took out what they did though. H-Scenes go without saying, obviously, but there is also some other stuff taken out or replaced as well.
While the common route wasn't exactly engaging all of the time, the character routes definitely make up for it. In fact, after you get into the second part of the game, you know you're bound to witness something very exciting; there's drama in every route.

Rise: 9/10
Chiho: 8/10
Ritsuko: 9/10
Ayaka: 7/10
Rise's route is amazing. I thought playing the routes in reversed order was a good idea; Ayaka > Ritsuko > Chiho > Rise because Rise's route is more of a true route since it answers more questions than the other routes and the drama gets thick later on, when you get to Chapter 25. We find out how [spoiler]Rise's mother, who started the shrine fire, seems to be a deranged, hopeless lost cause who couldn't deal with change, yet she is actually living in a dream and was in an aggravated mental state[/spoiler]. The whole thing was just incredibly gripping. There were loads of funny moments, too, like when [spoiler]the Goons came and crashed the Culture Festival. My god, I've never seen someone completely LOSE it to the point they don't know their own strength[/spoiler].
Ritsuko's route is a close second; it's actually really touching and you get to see how she becomes open and honest with her feelings, therefore able to show her true colors. The drama is an uphill gradient, and practically touches the sky near the end, well, Chapter 24 is called "[spoiler]An Incident[/spoiler]", for instance.
Chiho's route was also pretty good. There are some very funny scenes like when [spoiler]Masaya gets the number wrong and summons the wrong girl to the Guardian Tree[/spoiler], and things get very exciting when [spoiler]Masaya's father is on the loose[/spoiler]. And overall we get to find out how Masaya and Chiho met and came together.
Ayaka's route was a bit lacking, I'm afraid. It just doesn't have the same dramatic effects the other routes have, although when [spoiler]Ayaka gets into a fight with the headmistress[/spoiler], and stuff like that, I can see why this route, despite not being exactly gripping, does have its interesting and thought provoking moments.
Overall I give this game an 8 out of 10.

시나리오
시놉시스만 봐도 완벽한 클리셰 덩어리고 캐릭터들도 정형화되어 있는 왕도계열이라 결과를 예측하기 쉽지만 그만큼 최소한의 재미는 보장된 편입니다. 또한 애니처럼 26개의 챕터로 이루어져 볼륨이 꽤 큽니다. 공통 루트인 15 챕터 이후로도 캐릭터별 개별 챕터가 10개나 되니 총 56개의 챕터의 분량이니 볼륨의 크기가 대충 예상 될겁니다.
캐릭터
정형적인 캐릭터들이지만 성격들이 매력적이고 성우들의 연기력이 괜찮아 몰입도도 나쁘지 않습니다. 특히 캐릭터 루트 확정 후 히로인 시점의 히로인들의 행동들이 진짜진짜 귀엽습니다. 다만, 공략 캐릭터가 단 4명으로 볼륨을 생각하면 어쩔 수 없이 제한한게 아닐까 싶습니다. 매력적인 조연들이 아깝다는 생각이 드는데 속편에서는 공략이 가능하다고 합니다.
구매 팁
한글지원이 안 되는데 이 게임은 모바일로도 출시되어 있습니다. 모바일 게임은 한글화가 되어 출시 되었으므로 만약 영어가 안 된다면 모바일 버전을 구매하시는 것도 방법인 듯 합니다.
물론, 영어 공부를 위해서라면 영문판도 나쁘지 않습니다.

Прикольная, хоть и несколько нудноватая, интересная и абсолютно карамельная, выдержанная в чудовищно девчачьих розовых тонах - и все это на множество серий. Девочки-красавицы бегают вокруг ГГ кругами и уже всего через три-четыре серии перестают скрывать, что ревнуют друг к другу, как кошки.
В all ages версии понятное дело, ничего не покажут. В unrated версии покажут все и тут проявляется единственный недостаток этого карамельного мира - кукольность. Художники, похоже, когда рисовали хентайные сцены, использовали в качестве моделей не настоящих девочек, а куклы - только этим можно обьяснить, что хентай тут выглядит так, как он выглядит.
Впрочем, игре это нисколько не мешает. Главным здесь все же является не хентай, а именно вот погружение в эту атмосферу "всеобщего карамельного счастья"...
Нет, не стоит думать, что там мир во всем Винсенне (Закрытая Частная Женская академия Винсенн). Там есть и свои войны, и свои генералы, и свои полковники - и даже свои принцессы! Разумеется, на фоне общих проблем, их карамельные дела мелки - но они есть. И ГГ, который с ходу попадает в самый центр противостояния "традиционалистов" и "реформаторов", в этом очень скоро убедится...

It's pretty good

Kind of cheesy, but fun.
The set-up is about as self-indulgent as you can get, with one guy in an otherwise all-girl school. Heck, he even won the lottery on top of that. The antagonists, such as they are, are all cartoonish to the max, with exaggeratedly evil character traits. But it doesn't stick on any one story arc for too long, so no single conflict or issue really overstays its welcome, and they mostly play to their strengths, which is moeblob comedy hijinks and romance.
And the romance *is* cute, it has some decent comedy moments, and it holds up as an enjoyable little read and doesn't feel compromised despite the--*cough*--missing content. I've only played through one route so far, but all of the girls seem like they're equally fun. You could do a lot worse than this for light romance fluff reading if you grab it on sale.

The first Visual Novel that i have finished it completely. Though bought it in 2015, at the time I thought I had wasted my money just for some eye-washing scenes (included R18 patch), but when I played it seriously in 2018, from the start, it really hooked me up.
The story was so damm moving, some people said it was bland because the protagonist was a lucky guy (hit the lottery, entered the school for girl,...) but if you understood his circumstances in the past comprehendingly, I would say it wasn't too much of a bland story at all.
It was easy to choose which route you want to play, which is a good point for a beginner who wants to start playing VN. Nevertheless, each route had its own interesting story, and I found it a well-written story. ([spoiler] Honestly, I cried every time when I got to the end of each route because it was so romantic and moving that I couldn't hold my tears. And since they were 2D, it made me feel more the sadness :((( [/spoiler])
[spoiler] Even with the R18 patch patched, I still cannot f*p because of the PURITY of their love, since I really love vanilla. It's not like I'm hentai or anything b-baka [/spoiler]

Princess Evangile is honestly one of the strongest VN's out there. Whilst it doesn't do anything particularly new, or revolutionary, it does a fantastic job on what it does do. The game itself is split into 26 Chapters, which makes one full playthrough take around 40 hours give or take. I have finished one route in the original, and am in the process of doing another in the Sequel (w/ Happiness).
Now, as someone already has mentioned, if this game appeals to you, pick up the 18+ edition from Manga Gamer directly. I feel that the game itself benefits a lot more from it. w/ Happiness includes the common route for this game, but it doesn't include the actual routes for any of the four heroines in this game. If you are looking to play this, I highly recommend picking both the original and the sequel, and then playing through w/ Happiness's common route. It means you can skip a lot of the game to get directly to the route you want, as with Happiness includes 9 routes instead of this versions 4.
Princess Evangile has Rise, Chiho, Ritsuko, and Ayaka.
Princess Evangile w/ Happiness has a follow up route for those 4 heroines, and new routes for Marika, Mitsuki, Tamie, Ruriko, and Konomi.
Overall, I'd say this VN is definitely the strongest bang for your buck out there, as I can honestly see it taking 300 hours for all of the playthroughs.
My breakdown:
PROS:
+ Art. Moonstone's game's all have beautiful art. Everything here is of suberb quality, from the CG's, to the sprites and backgrounds. Not once did I think it was poorly made.
+ Characters. Every character is likeable in their own way, and almost all of them have a sprite and voice acting to go with it.
+ Long. Once again, this thing is really long. I'm not that fast of a reader, and I get distracted a lot, but it is definitely lengthy. Took me well over 50 hours to do Rise's route. For anyone else, this could be anywhere between 35 to 45. Excellent value for money.
+ Voice acting. Full Japanese Voice Acting. Whilst I don't speak the language, I can definitely tell they each did a great job at playing their character.
+ Great dramatic story moments. Whilst some moments were cliche (see the cons), there was some amazingly well done scenes, in particular at the pinnacle of some of the character arcs (Marika in particular). Helped make the experience memorable.
CONS:
- Protagonist. The protagonist is easily my least favourite part of this game. The guy is in high school, took a year off to work, and somehow has more life experience than my entire family combined. This guy has managed to travel halfway across the world on a fishing trip, work with computers in an office, manage to do a jobs in replenishment, all whilst continuously moving around with his father. At the start, he was fine, but over time it really pissed me off that he's just a jack of all trades with no weaknesses. On top of that, he's a pretty blatant self-insert (not neccessarily a bad thing), that the writers try to pass off as an interesting character. If you play the game, you'll see what I mean. It hurts the experience (which is why the character rating isn't a 10), but it definitely isn't worth dropping the game over.
- Choices. This game has what my friends and I have coined "If My Heart Had Wings Syndrome". 50 hours of gameplay, and maybe 7 choices in total. 3 don't even matter, and don't do much at all.
- Locked in too quickly. The first decision that makes you locked into your route is done well before you learn the story behind the girls. I'm pretty sure Ritsuko is in like, four scenes max, before the first choice. And Chiho barely has any presence until after that first choice. It was frustrating as I'm fairly certain I would have enjoyed the game much more (and I would've changed routes) if I was given more time to decide.
- Cliche. The plot itself is very cliche. Whilst it is done well, it is very blatant what will happen for most of the game.
- Generic soundtrack. Weak and inoffensive. I muted it after the first hour for my own music (turning it back on a few times during the story to see if it was any better (it wasn't)). Would have benefitted a lot more with better music.

This is a long and very good Visual Novel!
It is really a long read, but somehow the story manage to make it feel the opposite, it is so good!
I have read it for 3 days about 30 hours before I even get to start one of the four routes. The common base story is more of a Kinetic Novel since you only get a couple times to pick a choice, but they mostly end up meaning nothing. The romance is really taking its time to build up in the main character, since there are a lot of times between the choices that will lead to whos route you will start.
In my opinion this made the story feel more personal and 'realistic' in a certain way.
The music is generic Visual Novel soundtrack
The kissing and lewd sounds were not that really good in my opinion, I've heard better.
Maybe the fact that this story is pretty long will scare a few people from buying this game, but I would say, that don't be scared!
If you like Visual Novels you will love this, the all age version or the +18 version it doesn't matter. The story is so well written and the voice acting makes it even better.
So in the end, Ithink this is a most have to any fans of Visual or Kinetic Novels!

You know, I don't really know how to feel about this game. I like the story's premise, I like most of the characters, the writing style and artwork creates an engaging experience, but there are a few issues that kind of get at me.
First off, the main character and the protagonist, Masaya. He's a nice enough guy so that I care about him and what he's going through, but he's so dense sometimes. The girls clearly have a thing for him, it's so obvious that even I could see it if I was in his situation. But he doesn't even have a clue most of the time until they straight up say it to him. Secondly I find that once a girl has been chosen, most of the other girls fall drastically to the background. That'd be fine, even normal, if it wasn't quite as drastic as it was in this game. I went with Ayaka first and for the next three chapters after that choice was made, most of the girls didn't show up at all. I get that you're meant to be spending your time with one of the girls that you like best but that doesn't mean all the other characters have to be shoved out of the way this much.
Thirdly, and this is mostly a nitpick but it still bothered me; the amount of opposition Masaya faces is almost cartoonish in it's overwhelmingness. When they say "over 99% of the girls are against integration", what they should say instead is "99% of the girls are ridiculously sheltered sexist ♥♥♥♥♥". It felt like we were facing a real challenge, but that caused tension that I didn't expect out of this kind of game. That can be considered both a good thing and a bad thing.
Other than that, I think that this game's quite good, and I got it for dirt-cheap for a bit of a gaff. If you can get it on sale for under $25 I can not recommend it enough if you're a fan of VN games.
I wish that dream would never end and I could delate my memory so that I could play the story with the same feelings again (:. If there is a heaven, it must be like this.
If you like school visual novels with beautiful girls this might be the right visual novel for you.
The english in this story is very easy to understand with basic english skills.

I know it says I've only played the game for less than an hour but I already played the 18+ version a long time ago.
Protagonist is a blatant self-insert. Guy got a winning lottery ticket, gets into an all girls school, all the while proving to all the girls around him that he is a cool guy and isn't like other men. Story is very generic and bland. Most situations exist just to prove he's a trust-worthy guy and girls should flock all over him. I don't care much for simple choices in visual novels but I can't help but point it out in this game because I think it's part of the reason why this game is bland. Even Osanadai is better than this ♥♥♥♥.
It's not even worth $38 CAD
This is one of those "I really tried to like it" games. It is a pretty typical romance VN, but it odesn't offer much beyond that in the way of characters or story. The biggest problem tho is that the other characters in the game either love you, or HATE you, and that starts to wear this really quickly. It makes almost every encounter cringy
Alright, so before we begin, I would like to say that this IS NOT A BAD GAME.
It's actually a pretty good game, and I thoroughly enjoyed a few scenes in it.
With that being said, here are many flaws.
The main character (MC) has a wonderful backstory and first couple of chapters. However, much potential was squandered for character development. There could have been a much more exciting plot considering how strong the game started. 6.5/10
Voice acting:
No complaints. 9/10
The soundtrack:
It's not bad, but it's quite simplistic. The best song (shown after chapter 0) is rarely used and it's a real shame. Over time, the music gets really repetitive and even annoying. The music tells you what to feel, instead of guiding you to those feelings and enhancing the experience. Sometimes the music starts too early (like it'll start right after a scene change) and will ruin the scene for you by telling you what kind of scene happens next. Overall, it's boring, bland, and not immersive. 4/10
Plot: pretty predictible for the most part. There are some twists in there, but I mean, if you're familiar with this kind of literature, you basically know how this VN will generally play out by the first few chapters.
The tropes are very strong in this VN's general arc.
Rise and Chiho get sidelined a bit into comedic relief by being predominantly used as being part of a love triangle. I feel this really takes away from their potential as characters.
Motifs: This game takes place at a Christian school and thus has very strong Christian, specifically Catholic themes. Well, let's just say that that was the attempt at least. How did the writer do his research into Christianity? By watching Cartoon Network? The way that this novel tries to integrate Christian motifs is abysmal. Much of it is a blatant misrepresentation, and anyone familiar with Christian theology will see this very quickly. It's a shame that the writer(s) couldn't have put in more effort researching something that's so integral to the core of this game. 2/10
Pacing: It's pretty slow; there is a good bit of filler. The endings (after the plot's climax) weren't very long, much to my dismay. Also, you need to choose the same girl 5 times in order to get their routes and not a bad end. Which tbh makes for a bit of unnecessary skipping on replays. 5.5/10
So did I enjoy this game? In general, yes.
Would I recommend it? Probably not. It takes a good bit of time to finish the routes, and there are much better things to do with your time. I'd recommend playing Doki Doki Literature Club and "If my Heart Had Wings" instead. Maybe once you're done reading all the good VNs out there, you can come back to this one. Or don't. Because it'll seem bland in comparison.
Final Verdict: 5/10 for experienced VN readers. 6/10 for newbies. Generally wouldn't recommend. Not because it's a bad VN per se, but because it takes a long time to read, and in the time it takes you to 100% this VN, you could have been reading much better VNs or doing other things.
A superb game with a strong, core storyline that you get to investigate through the four companion choices in the game. I thoroughly enjoyed this.
I dont usually like visual novels, but the story is well written and i legitimately laughed so hard i snorted at a few points. it was certainly worth buying and I am looking forward to playing all routes to the end.

As for a good graphic novel Princess Evangile falls high on my list of good games. With a good cast of characters and great story it is a good game to try if you like Graphic Novel Games.

I enjoy Graphic Novel Games and this was a good one to play for me. I would give it a try if you want a good novel to play through. I give it a 4 out of 5 in my own opinion.

My personal favorite Visual Novel. Its a long read, but well worth your time and money.
I could go on for hours and hours about how much I love it, but instead I'll just say, If you're at all interested in Visual Novels definetly give this one a shot, its one of the best All Ages versions out there.
