This is a very good game, and one of the best metroidvanias out there. I liked it similarly to Ori and Nine Sols. Based on the reviews I thought it would not be very good, but I liked a lot (I think some of the bad reviews were not about the game itself). The graphics are very good, there is a lot of content, and I liked the skills that are unlocked.

The platforming is challenging but very good. The enemies are fine, and the bosses are hard but not so much (different than Hollow Knight). You can change the difficulty to be easier, although I did that only for the last boss (and last special boss) of the Mask of Darkness DLC, that is harder than the base game, I considered the default difficulty on point for all the base game, not too easy, and not too hard.

玩这种游戏类型前只玩过心渊梦境和勇敢的哈克，初次进入游戏给我的震撼是极大的：独特的美术风格，多样的攻击招式，设计出色的关卡boss，以及难的有点红温的跳跳乐。玩过不少育碧游戏的我对于波斯王子这种我自认为与之毫不相关的游戏感到惊艳，如今50左右的史地价格对于我来说可以接受。

This game is so close to being very good.. so close. Unfortunately, the design leans way too hard into punishing platforming, which I get is supposed to be the staple for PoP, but, in this case, it's frustrating and not fun. The number of excruciatingly long platforming segments where one small mistake will lead to having to start all over is just way over the top. The game constantly expects you to react to unforeseen obstacles at the last second, flawlessly, or you get to start the entire section over again. You'll be doing this over and over again. Who finds that fun? Not me, and I love these kinds of games.

The combat isn't quite there, either. It, again, is just not fun. There's something that just feels unrefined about it. Enemies don't telegraph their attacks nearly well enough and half of the time you'll be taking cheap shots that simply don't feel like you were given a fair chance at avoiding to begin with.

This game has potential but they simply went too far with it. I think they know this because of the exceptionally high amount of difficulty modifiers they've put in. Unfortunately, these don't really solve the core issues with the design and I can't bring myself to play it any longer than I have.

Великолепная игра.

Сразу вспомнилась старая Ubisoft, которая могла в геймплей и самобытность. Сначала немного напрягал странный дизайн персонажей, но, через пять минут я забыл, что играю в принца Персии, расслабился и начал получать удовольствие.

Собственно геймплей представляет из себя стандартную метроидванию, с отличным управлением, жесткими таймингами и действительно интересными загадками. Боев не то чтобы много, элемент исследования выражен здесь гораздо сильнее. Особенно понравилось обилие жесткого платформинга в DLC и на некоторых локациях. Из минусов - разве что наличие учётки Uplay для игры в стим. Один раз сервис у Юбиков прилег отдохнуть и мои сейвы не смогли синхронизироваться с облаком.

The game is overrated imo. Combat is fun against bosses but other than that i found most of the game just boring, i played on immortal and the game wasnt that hard but the exploration was really unrewarding, and honestly after like half of the game i started to get bored. 六边形水桶横板，整体更侧重包括平台跳跃在内的ACT内容，各方面都十分均衡没什么短板，场景美术非常强，大厂炸鱼这一块

硬要说缺点的话，boss设计差了点（特别是最终boss），后期数值平衡有点崩，有几个高难度挑战设计的很粪，总体影响不大

I didn't know if I would like this entry in the Prince of Persia series- but I am happy to say that I do and it challenged me the entire playthrough (the DLC Mask of Darkness however....im not sure I have the patience for haha). Very happy I picked this game up, I was legitimately proud every time I passed a boss I never thought I would be able to get past. It's all about patience and pattern recognition.

A damned fine metroidvania that's a joy artistically to look and listen to, keeps you on your toes with a great suite of combat and traversal abilities and brings the joy of exploring a bigger-than-expected interconnected map.

Special shoutout to the suite of quality of life & accessiblity options - the ability to make a screenshot that's then added as a pin to the map is an innovation I'd be happy to see spread over other exploration-focused games. Being able to remind youself visually why you couldn't explore an area was a great boon.

It's biggest weakness was the story that, while it has intriguing time curse shenanigans at its heart and does make good use of a repeat villain, has just too many plot lines start and fizzle out unsatisfyingly to land at anything better than an "okay".

Первые 5-6 часов игра неплохо имитирует годную метроидванию, однако как только очарование новизны и боевки проходит ты видишь типичную юбисофт-песочницу в 2д, с искуственным растягиванием геймплея, огромными пустыми и бестолковыми локациями, наваливанием экспозиции через длинные записки и пустые диалоги, бестолковый лут за непростым платформингом ради очередных штанов для героя. Красивая, абсолютно стерильная и бездушная поделка.

А теперь подробно)
Начать думаю стоит с того, что в РФ начать играть было той ещё задачкой. Первая попытка не удалась и я делал возврат средств, ибо Uplay не принимал версию из Steam (просто не хотел обновлять библиотеку и всё). В итоге, была скидка на игру и я решил попытать удачу ещё раз, тем более по скидке. С VPN бубнами и прочими благодетелями - Uplay всё же снизашёл на меня и игра добавилась. Радости не было предела.
Поскольку я фанат мертвых душ и кольца элдена, решил сразу проходить на максимальной сложности, не пожалел!
На всё прохождение у меня ушло 52 часа!! 98% пройдено, остались только испытания (слишком уж душный платформинг там).
Не жалею, игра огонь)

P.S. Сейчас перепрохожу на легком уровне, просто ради достижений, которые почему то не прошли (начальные)

[h3] Fantastic revolutionary gameplay that isn't matched by its poor story [/h3]

I've played a lot of 2.5D games out there on my not so high end laptop, but this is the first Metroidvania game I've ever played, I liked the idea of open world 2D world map with fast time travels, what draw my attention to this game is the gameplay, the gameplay is revolutionary probably one of the best in the 2.5D gaming market if not the best out there, custom difficulty, the ability to change the difficulty at the save game runtime itself without starting a new game, treasure map, 2D maps, this is the first time I've experienced something like that and man, in some way the gameplay mechanics of this game saved me hours of watching YouTube videos on how to unlock secret items and treasures, there's also levelling system, upgrade system, treasure loot, shop system, grinding system and some slight light RPG mechanics through the amulet system where you can customize your character and equip it with different abilities.

I still have some criticism, the game lacks cheat codes, also while the customizable difficulty fixes some broken or so hard boss fights, there are a lot of difficult parkour hard to reach area with no cheat codes to workaround it, one of the most annoying one was the impossible climb yeah that is broken as hell, and you must collect all bells at once not one at a time, that is just stupid, you should provide a cheat code method to workaround hard to reach areas something like unlimited jumps for example would be helpful.

Other 2.5D game developers must take some important notes from this game, also you should provide a way to play old cutscenes, and you should provide the ability to battle side mini smaller bosses the same way we can fight main bosses.

[h3] Trash unconnected story [/h3]

The storyline is where the game falls too hard, the first half is phenomenal, it concentrates about a conflict for the throne of Persia with enemies outside and inside Persia seeking to control it, you got the Kushans an outside invaders and you got inside enemies who are plotting a coup to overthrew the current king and take the throne for themselves, the game is filled with politics, betrayal, backstabbing, twists and turns at least the first half, the second half is pure trash it diverges away from the first half of the story, where basically the main antagonist of the game wants to acquire a super power to destroy the world and start a new, this is a lazy meaningless poorly trash writing, not to mention the ridiculous strange power scaling to out for the trash plot, and for some reason the main antagonist decides to [spoiler] leave Persia and its political conflict behind [/spoiler] I don't know the story can't match the revolutionary gameplay.

I heard about this game from ChatGPT, I asked ChatGPT to list some demanding heavy hardware resources 2.5D games and it listed prince of Persia, when I looked the game I was blown away by its amazing graphics and levelling system,

unfortunately I won't buy The rouge Prince of Persia, due to its low budget, low graphics quality and lack of RPG elements and overall very simple design, also cancelling sequels was a wrong decision a better decision maybe is to delay sequels till the game reaches the expected desired revenue, also the game sold 3 millions copies, I don't know what was Ubisoft expecting with this 2.5D game.

I also won't buy 2.5D Assassin's creed games because stealth doesn't work for 2.5D games,

Prince of Persia The Lost Crown was the near perfect 2.5D game that attracted my attention.

It's really sad that Ubisoft disbanded the team behind this masterpiece of a game, Ubisoft must pay some serious attention to 2.5D gaming as there are a lot of people who like simplicity also there are a lot of people who don't own a high end graphics card capable of running AAA titles so they will turn into lighter 2.5D games instead,

9/10 for gameplay.
4/10 for storyline.

Як же в мене горіла ср@ка в певні періоди проходження! В той час я лаяв гру за те що вона як пародія на "Ori and..." та на дарк соулси всілякі, та за просто неймовірну кількість т. зв. бектрекінгу; а тому хто зробив кімнату де ти протягом трьох хвилин і сотні спроб мусиш ухилятися від пилок щоб отримати у винагороду нові штани для персонажа має бути окрема жаровня у пеклі. Сюди ж відносяться і інші лабиринти шипів і палаючого гузна.

Окремий пункт - повістка. Ну припустимо, чорношкірий парубок на службі корони - ок для Персії. (Дякую за скін Принца Персії 2008). Жінка-коваль це абсурдно. Жінка-наставниця ГГ в той час як серед Безсмертних є більш вправні Ваграм і Артабан? Вона Саргона мабуть гачком в'язати вчила? Я поважаю жінок але всі повинні грати Свої соціальні ролі, навіть в іграх.

Вцілому я раджу грати гру якщо ви не чутливі до високих температур нижче спини або не будете, як я, намагатись проходити її на 100%. Хороший сожет про зраду і прощення, цілком не погана музика і візуал. (Локація з розбитими коряблями застиглими у часі - моя окрема повага художникам)
Гра хороша, хоча, я був би більш радий добротному ремейку Prince Of Persia 2008.

PS: Гра добре шуршить на Лінукс і до неї є ідеальний на 98% Українізатор. Шкода що нативно немає Української.

gra płynna, nie zauważyłem większych błędów. Bossowie ciekawie moim zdaniem zaprojektowani. Topka jeżeli chodzi o zagadki logiczno-platformowe niektóre naprawdę oryginalne. Jedyne co w tej grze było męczące to dialogi (źle przedstawiona fabuła, której koncept ze szczegółami był dla mnie naprawdę ciekawy i boli mnie nie wykorzystany potencjał) i nie spójność w dopracowaniu przejść między lokacjami, nie jest to płynne i czuć nie spójną wizję artystyczna jakby każda lokacja była robiona przez inny zespół z różnym stopniem zaangażowania w projekt. Takie 7.5/10 jeżeli chodzi cenę do jakość (60 PLN)

I had downloaded this game on my steam deck for a long flight. But could I play it? Noo... Ubisoft just had to require an online connection to start playing. Not a bad game, but not a great game either. Online requirements, and need to create Ubisoft account for a single player experience puts this at a clear do not recommend for me. [h1]Шикарный платформер-метроидвания с кучей механик и черным Принцем Персии.[/h1]

Сражаемся с чудищами и богами в 2D цветастом экшене от разрабов Rayman Legends и Rayman Origins. Вышло мега годно, проходил на релизе в стиме на одном дыхании, и сейчас быстренько пробежал сюжетное DLC, которое там выходило. Игра напомнила мне самые первые части Принца Персии, но в современной графике, с кучей интересных для платформера механик и боссов.

Сюжет сейчас помню слабо, но он присутствует, и не чисто для галочки. Семеро бессмертных воинов защищают Персию, один из которых наш Принц. Есть небольшие кат-сценки, русские субтитры. Помимо основных квестов есть также побочные. Локации большие, с разным ландшафтом.

Геймплейно это прям сок для любителей платфомеров и метроидваний. Куча механик для паркура: двойные прыжки, подкаты, бег по стенам, притягивание крюком-кошкой и многое другое. Можно оставлять свою временную копию и потом на нее телепортироваться. Но при этом и много приемов для боя: разные комбинации приемов, блоки, парирования, ультимейты, которые можно получить из боссов, стрельба из лука. Чередуются сражения и по большей части платформинг, иногда встречаются небольшие головоломки. Восстанавливать здоровье можно у деревьев.

Игра выполнена в приятных цветастых тонах, имеет красочные анимации, которые при этом не отвлекают от происходяшего на экране, что нередко бывает в данном жанре игр. Боссов в игре не так уж много, как хотелось бы, но выполнены они качественно. Можно переигрывать сражения прямо из главного меню на скорость для каждого уровня сложности. Сложность тут гибкая, но ее, вроде бы, нельзя сменить по ходу игры. Впрочем, она влияет только на сражения, которые тут не такие сложные. Наибольшую сложность может вызвать именно составляющая платформера, особенно в DLC. Впрочем, для любителей жанра, особых сложностей не будет.

Отдельно по DLC Mask of Darkness. Я взял Complete Upgrade пак, куда входит DLC, но стим считает, что его у меня нет. Поэтому отдельно туда обзор написать, как планировал, не могу, и оставлю вкратце здесь. DLC - чистый платформинг, причем всю прокачку и умения забирают. Это побочное задание, которое можно получить где-то в середине игры. Так как у меня слетели сейвы, пришлось ставить готовое, чтобы сразу отправиться в дополнение. Там всего два босса и немного сражений. В основном это хардкорный побег от глаза, который летает за вами. Сохранений немного, однако есть контрольные точки в случае падений, где снимают совсем немного хп. Проходится за пару часов. Мне понравилось, но оно значительно сложнее основной игры, хотя там есть кое-какие испытания и посложнее. Брать на свой страх и риск, если у вас хороший опыт игры в платформеры. При частых падениях там предлагают какой-то режим упрощенных прыжков для помощи, но я его так и не попробовал.

[h2]Итог[/h2]
Это, вероятно, лучшая метроидвания и один из лучших 2D платформеров, в которые я играл. Несмотря на повестку в лице черного Принца, исследовать мир игры и проходить - одно удовольствие. В меру сложная, в меру продолжительная. Красивые анимации, много различных локаций для исследования. Сюжет эпичный и интересный, с путешествиями во времени и сражении с богами и мифическими чудовищами. Для любителей платформеров рекомендую обратить внимание на игру, даже если вы не знакомы с Принцем Персии. Играть лучше на геймпаде - управление на нем очень удобное. DLC - это чистый платформинг, более хардкорный, чем сама игра.

I have always had a soft spot for the Prince of Persia games, going all the way back to the original in the 80's. This is just a perfect little game. I'm playing it on SteamDeck, so it's fantastic to just pick up, play it for a bit and put it down. And still feel like you have made progress, thanks to the great save system. I thought I would get overwhelmed by the open world, but the ability to screen shot areas, with markers, or items you can't reach yet, fix that issue for me. I think if there is any issue it's Ubisoft, making me having to be online to link in with their portal. As I said, I play this on SteamDeck, and I don't always have access to WiFi, and I don't want to use my mobile phone as a hotspot, just to play this game. Talking of Ubisoft it's a shame that this fab game, and the studio (now defunct) who made it were a victim of poor marketing by Ubisoft. The demo which I played prior to buying, also did not make me want to buy the game. Because the demo to me made it just look like a massive open world, challenging platformer. But as said before, the actual game makes that a non issue.

Assuming you don't have problems with Ubisoft Connect being installed and getting logged in.... (yes, you have to bite that particular bullet here unfortunately).

This game gets a bit of a bad rep because... well... its artistic design is, shall we say, a bit off key. It doesn't even star a protagonist who is a Prince of Persia. It's kind of problematic like that. That said, the dlc does include a couple character skins that are much more fitting for a "Prince of Persia" and fit the theme better.

It's too bad about the way this was received in general, because honestly this is a really great game. The action is snappy and fun, the platforming is fun and interesting, the world is beautiful, the music is good, the voice acting is good, the story is decent... this is true AAA quality. I'm really enjoying the game so far, and I feel like its a Metroidvania made for the masses rather than for a select few hardcore punishment fanatics like "ahem" some other famous Metroidvanias. This one has really great options for customizing the challenge and overall I've found it super rewarding. The combat here can really push you if you crank the difficulty.

This game also has some very nice QoL options like map markers as well as screenshot markers, which really help with backtracking. Helps prevent you wasting time. It also has two modes, one where it highlights your next objective for the main quest, and one where it doesn't. You still get hints in your log, but it just kind of lets you explore and figure it out. I love that. Options for everyone, so no matter which way you enjoy it you have what you like. Very well done in that regard.

Two of my favorite games are Ori 1 and 2 and, while I wouldn't quite put this on par with those, it's actually closer than most games on the market and that's saying a lot. I do recommend trying it out if you haven't... it's quite a great feel for the genre.

This game is very well designed, you can clearly see the influence of its predecessors and was able to get all the positives without the negatives that could be attached to other Metroidvanias. The Bosses design philosophy count on the mastering of the mechanics by the player especially the most difficult mode, Immortal. Playing on the Immortal mode clearly makes it comparable to a souls-like 2D platformer like Hollow Knight, the platforming part clearly is inspired by Ori in its cinematography and by Celeste in its difficulty sometimes. The world is big and interconnected, my only issue would be the waiting time sometimes which can be too much . A 9/10 metroidvania, very underrated.

Even though I haven't played many Metroidvanias, this one is the best so far. Excellent combat, fluid responsive controls, great challenging bosses, interesting puzzles, pleasant artistic style. On top of that, you get like 30 hours of content.

The only downsides are that the plot was a bit boring and lean, and the soundtrack didn't catch my attention.

Overall a solid 9/10 from me!

Prince of Persia als 2D Plattformer ist eine ziemlich coole Idee und die Umsetzung ist wirklich gelungen. Das Bewegen fühlt sich gut an, mir kommt es aber so vor, als ob vereinzelt Eingaben nicht richtig erkannt werden (Richtung vom Dash, Absprünge).

Der Kartenaufba ist zu Beginn etwas verwirrend aber ansonsten normal und passend für ein Metroidvania.

Kämpfen fühlt sich zu Beginn ebenfalls etwas clunky an, aber nachdem ich das Training
[spoiler] in der Zuflucht [/spoiler] gemacht hatte war ich abgeholt. Es gibt echt coole Kombos und Optionen seine Feinde zu erledigen. Gruppen von Gegner sind etwas anstrengend, da man sie oft schlecht parieren kann, es gibt aber theoretisch genug Möglichkeiten. Wenn man wie ich kurz vorher Nine Sols gespielt hat ist man es nur anders gewöhnt.

Story ist bisher simpel aber gut. Kann sich noch in verschiedene Richtungen entwickeln und daher (für mich) nicht vorhersehbar.

Negativ anzumerken ist die Notwendigkeit eines Ubisoft-Kontos, weswegen ich mir erst Jahre später geholt habe, obwohl ich sogar ein Konto zum Zeitpunkt der Veröffentlichung besaß.

Meiner Meinung nach trotzdem sehr empfehlenswert!

Good game. Like the story and combat. Only dislike is that some of the puzzles and platforming are very difficult. If you get stuck or frustrated, close the game and come back later to play that section again. Also try to buy the maps for each section so you don't get lost.
Edit: After getting stuck at another ridiculous puzzle during chapter 5 for days I ended up quitting and uninstalling the game.

I honetsly really enjoyed the game however, I am a bit of an achievement hunter and there are some bugs when it comes to triggering achievements (from what I have seen online, Ubisoft has no plan to fix these as this game has been out for a while and people have been having these issues from 2 years ago). The lack of care given to small bugs like this really puts me off. It's a thumbs up for the game, but a thumbs down for Ubisoft's bug handling

Одна из лучших метроидваний которую я проходил за последнее время . Честно говоря даже не верится что эту игру сделали Юбисоф , не секрет что Юбики в последнее время делают только калл .
По ощущениям эта игра хороша во всем: интересный сюжет , хороший геймплей , качественные боссы разве что мне не очень нравится внешний вид ГГ , когда на него смотришь в голове появляется слово "Зумеры" .
Если вам хочется поиграть в хорошую метроидванию то это ваш выбор :)

It's a solid metroidvania with cool gameplay, has a lot of neat ideas and very nice QoL features other metroidvanias could surely use. The combination of PoP moving in some platforming is also a really cool idea and would probably be more enjoyed for a fan of the series.

That said, it kinda falls short later on with a lot of stuff. Unlikeable characters for starters, it's insane but it's probably a game where I couldn't care about any single character as well as no memorable bosses and terrible art design, which is a shame because animation wise, there were some really nice stuff but the immersion breaks when you see the characters.

Some bosses, especially you know which one, were absolute terrible design wise, having to constantly chase the boss throughout fight was definitely not fun at all.

Excelente juego, los controles son responsivos y el genero metroid vania le queda perfecto al estilo del principe de persia, en ocasiones molesta la cantidad de caminos bloqueados hasta que consigues las habilidades para llegar hasta alli, pero una vez que las consigues todas es un deleite recorrer el mapa, la otra queja que puedo dejar es que me parece injusto que en las tablillas de desafio no te puedas llevar tus amuletos para superar el desafio con tu build favorita, pero entiendo porque se hizo de esta manera, te exige mejorar en los controles (aunque tal vez lo logra demasiado bien, derrote al enemigo final de un intento gracias al exigente entrenamiento que me dieron las tablillas)

Ce MetroidVania estampillé Prince of Persia est plutôt convaincant pour les amateurs du genre tel que moi. Le cocktail action/plateforme fonctionne à merveille sans que l'un ne prenne trop le pas sur l'autre. J'ai trouvé le jeu un poil trop facile mais avec 4 niveaux de difficulté disponible, je pense que chacun peut y trouver son compte.
Les mouvements du prince sont très fluide et il est agréable à contrôler. Sa montée en puissance est très grisante en fin de partie malgré qu'elle soit très peu convaincante au début. J'ai vraiment eu l'impression qu'on me donnait juste des pouvoirs "prétextes" à des puzzles ni très variés ni très intéressants alors qu'un simple et classique double saut (que l'on débloque par la suite) rend le jeu plus nerveux et procure un sentiment de puissance bien plus tangible.
L'autre chose m'ayant pas mal déroutée a été la "construction" du monde. Tout au long de ma partie, j'ai eu la sensation d'un amas d'idées (souvent bonnes) mais qui ne s'enrichissent pas au fil du jeu. Chaque zone à son gimmick et reste en vase clos. Dommage. Et si on ajoute à ça un manque de transition marquante entre chacune des zones (même si certaines le sont : Port-Noyé/Mer Déchaînée), ça renforce ce côté vase clos désagréable.
Enfin, les combats sont très satisfaisants. Esquives, parades, coups spéciaux, combos, tout y passe et les petites cinématiques en combat (bien qu'un peu répétitives parfois) apportent vraiment un souffle épique à l'ensemble. Les boss ne sont ni très nombreux, ni très compliqués et c'est peut-être un point que les plus hardcore d'entre nous jugeront négativement mais ça m'a largement suffit. Petit bémol cependant, malgré la tonnes de breloques de collier disponibles je n'en ai à peine utiliser qu'une fraction et idem pour les coups spéciaux (3 utilisés sur 10 au total). Et je ne suis pas le seul puisque seul 8% des joueurs steams avaient débloqué le succès consistant à utiliser tous les coups spéciaux. Ça a sans doute à voir avec la difficulté mais je laisserais les plus puristes d'entre nous critiquer plus précisément ce point là.

Давно не грав у метродванії і слава богу. Не пам'ятаю як там в інших але тут ну повна срака з паркуром, так мене складність тільки в дарк соулсі душила. Бо треба "ідеально в таймінг" або починай все заново. Проте якщо я всю гру пройшов, навіть 2 на мій розсуд найскладніших момента також, то в доповнені розраби відігрались по повній без половини скілов та нормальних чекпоінтів, а також майже вся прокачка у пізді(не пройшов паркур за 5 хп, відлітаєш на дерево). Ще мінус це файтінги, бо в деяких боси тупо юзать комбо, теж не паривув у таймінг - сидиш фоткаєш. Дуже хотілось би мінімапу, але думаю тоді "магія" паркура би зламалась, коли одразу знаєш куди пригати та який скіл юзать. А так непогано: 6.5/10.
