First, they made the game F2P for Quest users bringing a bunch of screaming children into the game and then they remove it from Steam because of "cheaters" when the Steam Frame is supposed to be a thing this year. Wow.
Listening to people get mad when they die.. Priceless Entertainment.
was pretty fun
I recommend it but you can't play it. Sucka!
Absolute Trash. Never ran and corrupted windows for countless users.
BEST GAME I HAVE EVER STREAMED. @hater1981gaming on twitch...
could've been a cool game, like a VR Fortnite but done in an intuitive manner. went downhill once they made it F2P and added a ton of microtransactions
and now they don't even sell it on steam
Population: One is one of the best multiplayer shooters in VR. Its standout feature is full vertical freedom. You can climb anything and fly across the map. This makes every match fast, dynamic, and tactical. Gunplay feels solid, team communication is easy, and the game creates a strong sense of presence that traditional shooters can’t match. The learning curve can be steep for newcomers, but the payoff is a highly immersive and competitive VR experience. **Verdict:** A must-play VR shooter that really shows what competitive VR can do.
fire game but terrible devs
Sparatutto battle royal accattivante e dinamico.
They got rid of it from store page ;(
Another PCVR-hostile developer who is now solely focused on targeting the largest possible market and squeezing it for profit. I hope this decision backfires on you one day—especially if the upcoming SteamFrame helps PCVR grow to a sustainable size in the future. I will be avoiding this developer from now on.
Amazing hame
Fortnite VR.
cfrg
Fun game but it's riddled with cheaters these days
great playing
Won't launch, keeps getting stuck on, "Connecting..." splash screen indefinitely.
Peak VR shooter experience imo. Awesome community and probably the most intuitive gameplay of any FPS VR game. Unfortunately the game has been dying since the Meta acquisition but still a banger.
haha shoot gun is fun
I love it
this game was awesome back when it released. the core mechanics, item balancing, modes were simple etc which made it so good
then bigbox was sold to facebook and the game went free to play so mostly babies who cant even form a sentence play the game on a quest headset AND every single game is filled with bots since no real people actually play this game
the game faces many issues even now and is abandoned by the devs so don't buy if on pc and if you REALLY want to play the game then get it on quest where it's free. If you want to play a br in vr play contractors showdown and i'm sure you'll have a better time there
its a shame all this potential went to waste
Effectively vr fortnite. Nonetheless imo p1 is the funnest online vr shooter by a wide margin. Map has great verticality, lota of seamless gameplay innovations. For example, from any hight you can fly by extending your arms. Simply tilt left and right to steer. It works quite well. You can also climb any surface by holstering your weapon and grasping left and right. Pulling yourself upward. Nice variety of weapons keep things interesting. There is 2 ways to aim weapons both work well. Except the sniper which us awful. It could be a skill issue. But Honestly, after a few matches you everything seems to come together and I found myself winning more often than not.i wish the graphics were a tad better, I understand that it's likely necessary because the game has to be able to run natively on a quest 2 or 3. Which is weak hardware compared to even a modest gaming pc. Playing from a pc will grant you slightly better graphics. I've never played using the quest 2's internal hardware, so your experience could vary.
8/10
Fr tbo this is by far one of the best VR titles I’ve played in a minute. The immersion? INSANE. The gameplay? Clean. And the graphics on Steam? Chef’s kiss 💅totally worth copping it there just for that visual flex alone. For $10, it's a straight steal. If you're into VR and not playing this yet… what are you even doing? Trust me, I don’t miss when I drop a review like this.🔥
Its free on quest, I don't know why they would charge for the pc version. AT LEAST half of the players in every match are bots. If you're having a bad day, this game provides some easy wins to recharge you. The only benefit of pc vs quest is that if you are wearing headphones, you can hear exactly where anyone is within a moderately larger area. Other than that, pretty decent fortnite clone.
broken controls for pico vr
finely adjusted mechanics for VR. It's good if don't live in the area with people who have no VR, otherwise it takes ages for finding a match.
This game is the most unbalanced, ♥♥♥♥ made broke vr game in the world. No solos, no duos, but two squad modes...
This game has broken shadows, the sun is leaking and sometimes only on one eye at specific angles, the controls are very Index unfriendly forcing you to fiddle around with the steam bindings so that you can actually grab things and not accidentally pick up or climb the wrong thing at the wrong time and the graphics presets do absolutely nothing different.
PCVR got neglected hard in favor of the Quest. Stay away and only get it for free standalone on the Meta Store if you have a Quest
Best First Person Shooter game on VR
Fun game
For me, this is the best online VR shooter. It’s simple. It’s fast and has a great level of community created content.
The skins are a lot of fun
And the combat is top-notch, the guns, the gliding, the climbing, all good
And there’s lots of people playing so you’ll rarely ever feel alone
Definitely worth playing
Its crap.
The controls are broken if you try to play on steam through a Meta headset.
i like how you can fly and stuff but why i dont like the game is i dont like the site
Comfortable play experience. Several hours can be spent in the map builder to create unique battle maps and game modes.
Its just the best battle royale game :)
very fun and good to play
Ever since about a year ago I've been having this bug that makes the game nigh impossible to play. It's probably related to me using a pimax 5k+. The problem has to do with there being a certain direction that if I look in my headset almost does a snap turn temporarily. Then when I look in another direction it corrects itself. So if I'm fighting someone in a particular direction, then I'm pretty much screwed because I won't be able to control where I'm actually looking.
As a comp player from this game i can say this game is good on the right circumstances. The thing about this game is the concept is good, but the updates and the devs are TERRIBLE. Devs neglect the game and produce rare but disappointing updates. There are 2 game modes that are basically the same thing. No solos ruins this game terribly.
Pretty much the most addicting game possible. Cray fun!
Great game, but an awful experience
Population one has solid gameplay and can be fun under the right conditions, but I can’t recommend it, mainly due to the player base, poor optimization, and lack of moderation.
The player base
Every now and then, you’ll run into someone who's actually chill, but most of the time, it's just annoying kids screaming at each other. Many of them can't even handle dying once without throwing a tantrum and rallying the entire server against you just because you killed them. It gets frustrating fast.
Optimization? nonexistant.
If you have a low-end PC and try playing this on SteamVR, don’t be surprised if your system turns into the sun. The game is BARELY optimized for larger servers, and once the player count goes above 12, the lag becomes HORRID. The best experience you'll have is in a 7-12 player server—anything more, and it starts feeling like a powerpoint slideshow.
Toxic map creators and lack of moderation
As if the player base wasn’t bad enough, many map creators are EXTREMELY toxic. One of my worst experiences was with the creator of the "McDonald's 2026" map. I tried to give feedback about how they ruined the original map, and their response? Mocking me in a nerd voice and throwing slurs at me. Just ridiculous.
On top of that, moderation is almost nonexistent. I've seen plenty of sexual content in some maps, and it stays up because no one moderates the game properly.
Why this game could die
One of the biggest reasons this game might fall apart is that some smaller map creators (like myself) and mature players are quitting due to:
A: The lack of moderation—offensive content and toxic players run unchecked.
B: The toxic and immature community, making the game feel more frustrating than fun.
Final verdict
If you can find a small, stable server, you might have fun. But between the immature player base, terrible optimization, and nonexistent moderation, Population: One is hard to recommend unless you really know what you're getting into.

Hi, OG Bannana Here. You Squeekers suck. That is all! Good day, and good game! ;D
good.
yay
♥♥♥♥ so garbage
Fun BR. Not to be taken too seriously, which I enjoy. Steam version gives you in-game currency to buy items with.
If Fortnight was better...
often extremely laggy
if you like playing vr shooters this is the game for you. if you just like hanging out with friends you can play battle royale and make a custom. if your good at the game and competitive you can comete in leagues like ARC, GO, C class, and more. And thats why i think you should play this game.
pretty cool
I certainly enjoy playing this game, but I recommend playing it with friends. My experience with random groups has not been great, apart from a few rare exceptions. That’s why I stopped playing with random people and now only play with a group of friends. If you have a Meta headset and don’t mind using the Meta ecosystem, the game can be played for free there. However, keep in mind that if you switch to a different headset and want to continue with your account on Steam, that’s not possible. That’s why I bought the game here, even though I own a Quest 3.
10 out of 10, would recommend again!
No audio no matter what I do. Also after I play this, it breaks the audio on ALL of my VR games and I have to reboot my PC. It was never like this when I last played a couple of years ago. This is the only game that breaks all the audio. If I do not launch this game, I can play any VR title just fine with audio.
macht laune
games dead and is free on oculus
This game has potential to be very good. Unfortunately, it is full of bugs/glitches and broken maps. Also, this game has no anti-cheat detection, which makes this game very vulnerable to hacking mods. Stale game modes and really no new content to speak of in almost a year. Add in a very toxic game community and there is really no reason to waste your time with this game.

Best multiplayer FPS I've played yet!
The game has extremely annoying adverts - which would be fine if it was free, but it is not a free game on PC. It also crashes steam VR on exit. Otherwise it is a great game, but I just cannot recommend buying it.
THIS GAME IS W I LOVE TO KISS ALL THE MEN IN IT ..
Meilleur battle royal VR
Uzas parada wow fortnite na vrko
developers discontinued sale of the pcvr version with little explanation and no warning, supposedly to protect the playerbase (from what is unspecified)
im expecting this version of the game to get abruptly discontinued at some point.
original review below:
basically vr fortnite (except it may as well be no-build because ive never seen anyone actually use the build controls outside the tutorial, and they are the one part of the game that dont feel natural)
i have more playtime on a friend's quest 2, but i bought the game on steam because i bought a second-hand htc vive pro. the game definitely feels like it was designed for a quest 2 (e.g. the instructions for how to bring up the map show a quest 2 controller (you need to hold down the back trigger of the left controller on the vive pro), and the tutorial just highlights the entire right touchpad for reload early etc without providing indication of where to click, and the game suggests double-clicking a nonexistent left stick to sprint) but it plays ok on my htc vive pro (the right touchpad is dividied up into multiple regions that both provide for snap rotation and functions such as pings and early reloads, with no indication on where to press for the ping and quick reload functionality, other than just trying until you get it). despite movement not being teleport-based, you dont get motion sick unless you play for a while with the viginette turned down, and i personally find that i am so tunnel-visioned when walking around that the viginette never feels intrusive (on the vive pro you click and hold down on the left touchpad and drag around as if it was an oversized thumbstick).
only other issue ive noticed so far is that upon closing the game it appears that its event loop spinlocks instead of terminating (you have to force-stop it from steam). also if you have a meta quest headset, this game is free on the meta store or whatever its called, so get it there instead of here (i didnt get a meta quest headset because i want something that has a higher chance of working on linux and a lower chance of selling my entire life story to advertisers). this does also mean that there are quest kids, so use the voice chat to remind them of how to distinguish friend from foe when they inevitably shoot at you.
tldr: recommended unless you have a meta quest headset, in which case you should get the game for free from metas store instead of paying for it on steam
oh also one final funny story: while playing on my vive pro i stood in a spot where the tracking failed (one of my lighthouses is below head level at the moment, so i can sometimes block their line-of-sight) and walked off the starting area before i could get the tracking back. survived it and won the game (the collision mesh out behind the mountains at the edge of the map is rather inaccurate and you might walk on air for a bit, but you can just walk over them).
remember that it is easier to aim when you are closer to your enemy, and the big sword is good for rapidly eliminating people who walk directly into you from around a corner. also gamers dont look up, and you can climb literally anything on the map and then glide around - use this information as you wish.
Epic FPS lame devs
Bad version of a battle royale. Bullets And More VR - BAM VR
Video game is so much beter.
Only cosone peasants play this "population one" game
I really liked it. I wouldn't pay more then $20 for this experience.
Keep in mind it's very basic like CS, but with wall climbing and gliding. Doesn't have many options, just skins for guns and yourself. But the basics are really clean and polished. No bugs I noticed, just make sure you select the region you live. Otherwise lag.
Still has some player based, but not much. Only one level.
Warning to folks considering purchasing on steam versus the free to play option on Meta Quest. Despite having to pay for the steam version, you still have to purchase in-game currency to unlock all access. Without unlocking all access, your progression in the game is limited to level 10. In other words, the unlock for all access applies to all version of the game -- not just the free to play.
Still a pretty fun game even for the casual VR gamers.
Didn't know I was going to get matched up with bots all the time.
This game works but if I wanted to play against bots, there are other games that accomplish this better that this one does.
steam tax is worth it to avoid strapping a battery to my face!
smooth
good game....just ignore the children

hackers and bot lobbies. ByteUs discord server proves it.
Fun game:D

fun
I play this a lot of Meta Quest 3, and till this this day I think this is one of the better VR battle royal games. It just does a lot of things nice for a VR game.
game freezes when i join a match, unplayable
I enjoy the game. Hands down it's the best POV shooter game that feels like my movements and hands are in sync with whatever I'm doing at that particular moment. I bought this game when it was $29.99, and when it went free, instead of refunding the money, I received skins, a cool character and the title "Original Banana". They (Big Box) obviously were going through a 'thing' and I wasn't going to ask for my money back. I couldn't if I wanted too because it had been almost a full year before I put my headset back to population one. So, all in all, I'm happy with the game, and would like to see it go to full maturity when they eventually install an ANTI-CHEAT factor. Other than that, other than the BLATANT hacks and exploits, the game is awesome. You'll enjoy it more than you'll know.! bye for now, ivabigmouth.
still laggy
Don't be like me and play this game its ass
Was kinda fun but Contractors Showdown is just a straight upgrade.
