I wish there was a "meh" option. It does have the similarities with the original Overlord games. You are killing stuff with minions and being the evil guy. But, it just feels so underwhelming. Pretty sure I got this one in a Fanatical Bundle, so not much of a loss.

Incredible game! Not as good as the original Overlord 1, but, still, it is a game in the overlord series, so, I LOVED IT! Definitely worth your money if you liked overlord 1. But I do recommend playing overlord one, possibly two first, to get an idea of what the heck is happening. Great lore, Great story, Great gameplay, I like it's difficulty as well. Overall, 8/10 game, pretty good game.

[h2]Overlord jinak… ale je to dobře?[/h2]

Overlord: Fellowship of Evil je izometrické akční RPG, které slouží jako spinoff série Overlord, nikoliv jako přímé pokračování druhého dílu. Samotný přerod z third-person RPG na ARPG je nezvyklý, ale to nakonec není největší problém hry.

Princip je jednoduchý – vyberete si classu a postupně se prosekáváte úrovněmi ve stylu her jako Diablo. Na papíře to zní slibně a prvních pár hodin hra skutečně dokáže zabavit.

Postupně se ale začnou projevovat slabiny. Hra se výrazně odklání od původní identity série. Místo role pána zla, který manipuluje miniony v pozadí, zde bojujete primárně sami za sebe a minioni hrají jen okrajovou roli.

I systém jejich získávání působí zvláštně – namísto hledání hivů odemykáte miniony pomocí boxů, což do světa Overlorda příliš nezapadá. Celý koncept tak ztrácí kouzlo i osobitost, která byla pro předchozí díly typická.

Hra navíc poměrně rychle sklouzne do repetitivního gameplaye. Příběh je nevýrazný a celkově působí titul spíš jako generické ARPG než jako součást série Overlord.

Zatímco jsem zpočátku považoval negativní recenze za přehnané, po několika hodinách hraní jsem jim bohužel musel dát za pravdu.

Well, let's address the elephant in the room before I give my thoughts.

Overlord: Fellowship of Evil is not a follow-up to the first two Overlord games, but it does share a few characters and does take place within the Overlord world. Hence, it's a spin-off.

The game was also intended to be more of a co-op experience, but you will still have a similar experience playing by yourself.

Now, let's begin.

The Good:
The gameplay isn't bad, but it's not great either.
The storyline could have used more work, but I've played "AAA" games with worse storylines.

The Bad:
The minions are all over the place sometimes doing their own thing.
The minions have a tendency to disappear off-screen, never to return.
The minions have a tendency to just perish for no reason.
The minions have no sense of self-preservation and will run into or through "obstacles" and end themselves in the process.
In short, the minion AI was never finished.

The game is very short. It feels like it was never really finished, and it becomes more apparent in the last act how much it feels like things are missing and rushed.

Conclusion:
As much as I love the Overlord games, I can not in good conscience recommend this game, no matter how hard I tried to love it with all its faults.

Dieses Spiel ist richtig schlecht. Ein Tiefpunkt in der Overlord-Reihe. Die Änderung der Steuerung und der Verschiebung des Perspektive sind nicht die gravierenden Makel. Die Story und die Grafik sind einfach schlecht. Das Tutorial und die Erklärung der Tastenbelegung waren unzureichend. Ich fühle mich meiner Zeit beraubt dabei habe Ich das Spiel nicht mal zu 20% der Story gespielt.

I see many people complaining that this game doesn't follow the previous ones, like Overlord and Overlord II, but personally I liked the change of perspective and attempt to continue the story, since this time we're playing with candidates to be the new Overlord, also implementing the multiplayer mechanic. As a big fan of the franchise, I got nothing to complain about, quickly got used to the new game, and it's sad that the project has ended, I hope one day a new game gives this one a continuity

打完了，不過因為我不懂英文，一開始甚至不知道由滑鼠控制攻擊方向，打得很辛苦。遊戲還是好玩的，可以在打折時放心購買。
1)不怪粉絲震怒，我喜歡霸王系列是因為愛看小鬼戰鬥和看他們拾裝備。想創新我明白，但明顯本未倒置了。
2)打塔掉小鬼方塊直接改成接近自動補允吧。
3)1代DLC的彈球、除草和2代的各種小遊戲都是減分的地方，這作的賽跑當然也是。
4)大盾兵只能用重擊麼，打起來費時又無聊。

Не знаю уж где разработчик свернул не туда но этот "шедевр" не играбелен.
По 3 миньона каждого цвета, ты теперь не Повелитель а так, местный гопник с шестёрками. Красные вообще смертники несутся очертя голову с минами на загривке.
Вид сверху. Зачем? Почему? Неудобно как минимум. В предыдущих играх ничто не мешало выкрутить камеру как угодно.
Управление. Хромает на обе ноги. Едва гоп компания призывается летит чёрт пойми куда даже без приказов. Отзыв всех обратно ага - они просто исчезают. Гениальное решение. Если я говорил что в 2 части магия была скудная тут её вообще нет. Спец приём с огромным кд - ну это финиш.
Звук. Попытка выехать на ностальгии - неплохо но провальненько.
Графика. Да даже в 3 Sacred была лучше. Окружение пытается в атмосферу но все вкривь да вкось. Загадки, ловушки, бой с боссом троллем - явно всё делалось спустя рукава.
Итог. 2 и та с натяжкой из 10 хороших предшественников.

On one hand, I feel that the many of the reviews don't know what a "Spin-off" is. On the other hand, it really doesn't change the end result. Fellowship of Evil is not an overlord game... it is a multiplayer Gauntlet Legends style arcade game set in the world of Overlord.

So how does it fare looking through this alternate viewpoint? Not much better. There's a decent core here, but its one that shoots itself in the foot repeatedly. While that's totally in character for your minions... its bad for a game.

On the surface the biggest problem with Fellowship of Evil is that when you start out... enemies are quite tanky taking on average 12-15 hits per kill. This combined with rooms that lock you in and send waves of enemies means that the game proceeds fairly slowly.

Unlike Gauntlet where you're constantly rushing across the maps to hit spawners... while both shooting and using melee... there's very little mobility here. I'm finding the ideal play style is to block a narrow pass and stand still.

In truth, a few of the early levels felt painfully long for an arcade-style game but I don't know if the level was long or the enemies just slowed me down.

But at the 2 hour mark I'm seeing that that's not the real problem because I'm having decent fun now. The problem is tacked-on RPG mechanics that are doing more harm than good.

Throughout each stage you get several types of currency. I'm going to call them "XP coins", "Minion XP coins", "Weapon Coins" and "Armor Coins". After each stage, you can come back to base and spend these coins on upgrades.

But each of these upgrade paths are linear meaning that you're not customizing your play-style. There's no reason to be walking across a moderately sizable base to shops because I have no meaningful choices. It doesn't feel like a fleshed out system that adds to the experience.

The end result is that they made you weaker at the start of the game to ensure there would be a level up system. Because you're weaker these early levels are full of damage sponges and every stage outlasts its welcome.

Here's the thing... I'm having some fun now that I'm into the main game and leveled up almost halfways up the tree. But the opening experience is so dreadful that just over 10% of players even completed the prologue!

It's a bit sad because I do think this game couple be moderately passable with friends, particularly couch coop. But that's not so easy.
- You need friends.
- You need friends that are willing to play 6/10 games.

Since those two categories rarely overlap... you're stuck solo.

Overall, I just can't see a reason to recommend it. If I was going to play one of these games I'd go Gauntlet Legends, Ultimate Alliance or X-Men Legends. At it's best, this game is middle of the road... and it sure doesn't start at it's best.

You cant control your minions. You cant have a big army like in previous games, you start with all your minions but you only get 2 of each, 6 when you upgrade them but i was only able to fully upgrade browns bc game is very short. They change the minions, red is not ranged anymore they carry a bomb run into enemies and explode, they attack one time. Greens tp to enemy and also attack one time, blues heals you in this game so thats good but they dont attack.
They made a big hub but its mostly empty. You have a forge they send you to collect dragon eggs to start the forge and when you do it you cant even use the forge.
4 different characters but they all mediocre and not that fun to play with, very basic gameplay.
Story is not worth to follow, i mean what the heck is The Golden??
Game ends with 1 minute mysterious video and thats it there is no credits or anything. Feels like its unfinished/more content will come or they wanted to make a another game.

If you didnt get this in a bundle dont buy it its not Overlord and its very short, around 5 hours.

This game is awful, do nut buy it. At best it is an okay hack-and-slash with some light puzzle-elements. At worst it is a clunky, buggy, softlocking mess with a boring gameplay-loop. There is no reason whatsoever to play this game. Avoid it and pretend it does not exist. Since it barely works it is not even worth it to play "ironically".

I'm speechless. I never thought this game was as bad as people say. Actually, it's way worse. Nothing works as intended. Combat is absurdly dull and poorly done. Enemies are stupid as hell. The plot is somewhat mediocre but entirely ruined by the idiotic storytelling, and the game tells ♥♥♥♥. Is this an alpha version? Not to mention, it has more bugs than the combined Overlord and Overlord 2. There is only one positive aspect of this game: Gnarl. The rest belongs to the trash can.
And this is a story of how to murder a video game franchise. 1/10

以前玩過一、二代，雖然不算非常喜愛，但依然是讓我留下印象的有趣作品，而本作過完教學關以及第一個關卡後，我就不打算浪費時間直接刪除了。看起來像砍殺遊戲，但其實比較像古墓奇兵光之守護者那樣的外傳定位。但手感稀爛，解謎白癡，關卡設計無聊又搞人，塞一堆地形陷阱還搞時間超短的限時闖關，戰利品消失超快深怕玩家撿完，Minions也缺乏指揮他們的樂趣。無聊就算了，還無聊又難玩。我本來以為末日危城3和聖域3已經是經典IP亂搞的底標了，沒想到下限還能更低。

Overlord雖然需要求變，但絕對不是這種方式。
看了一下原來不是原工作室，而是發行商接手IP來發展。

I can see why this game was a massive flop, however it's not as bad as it might seem, but calling it undercooked is... generous. The Overlord series isn't a shining example of high quality games but this one is notorious.
The **bad**:
- AI
- Cutscenes
- Models
- Writing and Dialogue (serious slop)
- Balancing (netherghul weapons and nigh invulnerable shield enemies)
Thankfully this game is quite cheap and the gameplay and level design can make this fun to play, particularly the first 3 boss fights. Furthermore the addition of 4 different characters and coop might actually advance this game from "bearable" to "ok"

Apesar de ter concluido e ter "gostado" (nada comparado as seus antecessores) eu sinceramente não recomendo.
A narrativa e até a gameplay são cruas e escassas, sinceramente deixam a desejar e é um baita downgrade.
Os minions agora não tem tanta relevancia e utilidade como tinham no primeiro, meio que você é quase obrigado a bater se não é dois anos ali esperando, não tem muita tática e se tu quiser pode até jogar sem os minions e só usar eles nos """"PUZZLES"""" que é só literalmente ordernar o minion especifico pra subir em um botão para abrir uma passagem especifica em momentos especificos. (Nas BOSS fights tambem, mas ai já literalmente inverte e se torna obrigatório).
Sei lá... Por mais que a história tente entregar que tu é lá um lich reencarnado, muito foda. Parece que banaliza totalmente os anteriores "qualquer um" pode ser e fodase... Não queria que fosse bem assim não, mas infelizmente foi feito assim né...
Mas é isso ai, se quer encarar o jogo não é bem uma continuação não, é mais só ligado a franquia em quesito a você ser um OVerlord que comanda minions e boa boa...

This could have been good. A dungeon crawler in the Overlord universe has some promise, but there’s just nothing here. No satisfying loot drops. No expanding combat ability. Nothing but braindead, horrifically designed combat. Oh, and a few utterly insipid pressure-plate puzzles .... This game is so bad.

Qwerty keyboard settings and you can't change it .... games in the 90s had this feature already ... so dumb lot of todays games still use a fixed setting for keyboards. For that i asked a refund!!

Это не отвратительно. Уровни, кстати сказать, задизайнены очень даже симпатично, текстурки с эффектами взяты из великолепной второй части. Я просто на протяжении всего времени не понимал, зачем я в это играю. Будто заставляю себя. Такое ощущение, что они её выпустили чтобы спекулировать на моём детстве. Музыка иногда дисгармонична, иногда просто не запоминается. Многие механики душноваты, непонятны, и в целом излишни. Всё как по канонам современных MMORPG с видом сверху.

Не знаю, кто виноват в том, что в игру не хочется играть. Как по мне, мало всего лишь взять текстурки из прошлых частей, чтобы передать дух этих прошлых частей новой игре. Следовало, наверное, остановиться на второй номерной части. Как разработчикам, так и мне.

I finished all acts within this game and its a sad excuse for a dungeon crawler, and even worse for an overlord branded game. It lacks everything that made the first two overlord games fun. Highly recommend playing overlord 1 and 2, and just plain skipping this one. Hopefully someday they will make a proper overlord 3.

I just beat the game and I can tell you that it is very good. Just a fun little Hack and Slash that does not take itself to seriously. The main focus of the game-play seems to be the "Hero" in the game rather than the minions that you can summon.

Edit: I am glad I ignored the negative reviews.

donde quedó toda esa base? tenía la esperanza de que evolucionase como un souls solo que con minions, como lo parecía tanto el primero como el segundo. En lugar de eso tiene una vista isométrica y un combate que no recuerda nada al de los primeros dos, los minions ahora pegan solos siendo que deberían de obedecer puramente tus intenciones. No posee ni la oscuridad, ni maldad ni combate ni nada de los otros juegos, da alguna idea que suena bien en papel pero en la práctica es horrible.
el primer Overlord era un juegazo con un potencial de ser increíble en cuanto a juegos de controlar minions, imponías terror y poder con solo pararte y más al extender tu mano para comandar los ataques, eso era un Overlord, sin contar la estética oscura de fantasía medieval y la atención al detalle en todo lo que hacía, ojalá algún día salga un Overlord 3 utilizando todo lo bueno de los anteriores, más del 1 diría, más souls y menos... esto.

I had finished the game and i all i gotta say is that the missions are repetitive, the bosses are really easy, and the upgrades don't improve things and last thing is I personally don't like the way the minion system and I also don't like how they changed the reds.

Rien à voir avec Overlord... Vous vous attendiez à la suite de Overlord II peut-être ? Après 30min, rien à voir.
+ meilleurs graphismes, seul point positif
- le gameplay est totalement différent des jeux précédents
- restriction budgétaire : il n'y avait pas de paie pour les voix françaises
- et encore des restrictions budgétaires : impossible de reconfigurer les touches, sortez un clavier querty ou bien essayer [alt]+[maj]

Pourquoi changer une formule qui marche ? Un petit révolutionnaire est passé par là et voilà le résultat, c'est pas Overlord, c'est un autre jeu. Peut-être que j'y jouerai plus tard mais après 30minutes je préfère passer à autre chose.
