Que jogo..., que história..., que trilha sonora incrível... jogando em 2026 zerei com emoção... joguei quando tinha 13 anos e hoje ainda o jogo nos prende devido a história..., os boss de cada fase..., segredos quase impossíveis de solucionar (mas com muita paciência consegue), tudo que os jogos de hoje precisam tem neste (torando limitações gráficas óbvio rs), esse sim merecia um remake!!

Уровни там с сюрпризами и пасхалками и иногда заставляют стоять вот так и думать где использовать это, как это сделать, как это найти, короче игра чуть сложной была для меня была. Ассортимент огнестрела было много, тут тебе и револьвер (классика), винтовка на рычажном механизме (кстати как снайперку можно использовать если прицел найти), однозарядное ружье (можно уаншотить) и многое другое...
Игра короче позабавило разнообразием и дополнительными уровнями... Большой пальчик вверх!

it has an outdated menu and controls but otherwise its a very good game, unlike doom + doom2 and heretic+hexen remaster, the outlaws remaster doesnt add a new campagin or content so it sucks that it cost almost 30 euros, but since this isnt the remaster ill give it a 7/10 just because i cant play at higher resolutions, but thats to be expected from a really old title

One of the best western-themed boomer shooters. Moreover, this might be the very first one too. I liked it, but still was getting lost on some of the levels. The good thing is you get great cutscenes, and quite a unique gameplay.

A classic setting and the devs didn't just tweak the similar games of the era but gave this real atmosphere. Still well worth playing.
A FPS ask for sharp eyes to spot key items and tunnels/doors. It certainly shows its age, but it's quite playable and fun by today's standards. Playing this Western FPS reminds me a bit of Mad Dog McCree.
The map design is both the highlight and the pain point, a maze with locked doors and varied paths.
But first, I must congratulate the Devs on the mapping of the Reservoir Level. A solid big level, the valve turning, then the switch to control the water slides are nice designs, making beating the level feel so satisfying. But what I don't like is that after putting back the gears, the door leads back to the central area I've already explored, resulting in me not knowing where to go next, especially with no new enemies to hint the way.
Actually, most of the time I need to search very carefully for keys and other essential items, and remember which doors were locked where and which wouldn't budge, because I need to go back, and locked doors need keys and doors that won't budge need a crowbar to open.
Too often I thought I found a secret area, but it turned out to just be an area with essential items. This game requires really sharp eyes and good patience, the key can be randomly placed on the ground, under the table, at a corner, or in a dark cave, and the oil lamp burns out fast. Besides, enemy corpses may just cover it, so unless you walk past it, you never know the key is there, it's not unusual to get stuck in the game.
Another interesting level is the mining one. Entering the mining mountain is interesting enough, not to mention later you need to jump to and crouch pass different stories of cart rails and eventually get the evil doctor. Though I must have wandered for 10 minutes before figuring out a well-hidden path, so narrow and it blends in with the walls so well that I missed it several times. The next level featuring numerous pathways is impossible when the oil lamp runs out, it's the last mission till the end so I gave up.
The enemies are easy targets and unvaried. The biggest fun is finding the path in the maze and the cutscenes, and I only wish it went longer.

A fantastic shooter that has clearly stood the test of time and well deserving of it's praises. While it looks like any old Boomshoot of it's era, expect tense blink and your dead firefights more akin to something like FEAR then the OG Doom. Good levels (minus the bonus missions) a Great Soundtrack and talented voice acting round out this memorable gem of the FPS genre.

Ein FPS der guten alten Schule der 90er! Gutes Gameplay, fetzige Wild-West-Musik und rasante Schießereien, wie man sie aus Western kennt - nicht nur für Western-Fans, sondern auch für Liebhaber von old-school Ego Shootern im Stil von Shadow Warrior und Co. ein Versuch wert. Die remastered Version muss ich nicht haben, wer das Game noch nicht kennt oder besitzt und Wert auf optische Besserungen legt, sollte sich die neue Version holen. Outlaws ist lustig gemacht, am meisten Spaß hat das Level im Zug gemacht, da kam richtig Western-Feeling auf! :) Vielleicht ja ein Vorreiter von Westernhits wie Call of Juarez: Gunslinger und Co. Definitiv eine klare Kaufempfehlung im Sale!

I grew up playing this game so I'm biased. However if you like doom clones and western themes this is a game anyone can play. There is a story but it's just to give the game a little bit of a motive other than that it's gun fights and simple puzzles except for the saw mill level, you might need a walk through. Try typing olpostal while in a level.

While this did some ground-breaking stuff back in the day, I think its boomer shooter anachronisms (eg mazes, key hunting, and a lot of janky engine mechanics) and primitive enemy AI will bore and put off players who don't have nostalgia for this game. I am enjoying this game, especially for the animated cutscenes, music and gameplay mechanics that don't hold your hand eg manual reload, I can't recommend this game to general audiences who don't have game history reasons to pick this game against all the other games that have come out since this released in 1997.

I loved this game when it first came out and still love it today. The graphics are dated but i love the classics.
As it stands, i do not recommend the game.
As a game, it's fantastic, but the constant resolution changes just playing it was enough for me to ask for a refund. If the game was implemented properly for modern systems i wouldnt even be upset.
Ich habe das Original damals gespielt und immer wieder bis es irgendwann nicht mehr ging. Jetzt 10 Jahre später kann ich es wieder spielen. Fantastischer Western Shooter. Plot und Atmosphäre fesseln einen direkt von Anfang an. Erwartet aber keine gute Grafik oder so. Das Spiel ist aus den 90ern.
Ansonsten wer Western mag, kommt mit Outlaws definitiv auf seine Kosten.

Played this game so much as a child on my Windows ME Pentium 4 desktop. It’s so nostalgic to play this again. Some tweaks required to play in 21:9, but it’s still a gem that holds up well.
This was my Red Dead before Rockstar ever thought of Red Dead.

Lucasarts outlaws from 1997 is a cult classic game. its not all about shooting, there are very technical puzzles to solve. im thinking its the first shooter with shotguns implimented in game. the developers probably liked making the game as such they put alot of secrets and hidden easter eggs in game as well. This game also shows that you had to work the keyboard like a madman because theres no auto reloader for guns in this game, you must reload yourself. For the price of $6 and change you cant go wrong.

Adoraria lembrar como descobri OUTLAWS. Desconfio que tenha sido por meio de uma demo em algum CD de jogos aleatório, mas não tenho certeza. Tempos depois consegui adquirir uma versão alternativa. Joguei até o final, mas as cutscenes não tocavam por algum motivo.
Não lembro direito, mas anos depois talvez eu tenha adquirido uma versão que prestava, mas finalmente em 2025, revisitei o primeiro jogo single-player que finalizei, fato esse que só lembrei hoje ao reler minhas anotações.
Outlaws foi tão importante pra mim em 2009 que todos os seus efeitos sonoros estão gravados na minha mente até hoje. Rejogá-lo foi uma viagem no tempo.
Infelizmente essa importância não teve o devido reconhecimento no Primo Awards, mas a memória afetiva sempre estará lá, e isso não tem preço.

The best and only western FPS from the 90s I've ever played. Used to play this over dial-up with my brother back in the day before cell phones were mainstream. So, to get it configured right, you'd have to try to connect, fail, call each other, try again, fail again, call again. Repeat until angry or you get the setting correct. Very memorable game and nostalgic. The secret dinosaurs, dog that catches fire, and insane squirrel were bizarrely scary back then!

- Impressive narrative for a game of this genre at the time of its release. Plot and storytelling
have more substance here than in almost every FPS made before Half Life.
CONS
- Lack of enemy variety
- Lack of weapon variety, there are even redundant weapons
- The combat is very repetitive because of the aforementioned flaws. For this reason, the game feels longer than it should.
I recommend it to people that love Westerns and are curious about the evolution of FPS games of the 90s.

Meu pai comprou para mim o meu primeiro computador lá em meados de 2001/2002 e com ele veio o CD original do Outlaws, fiquei abismado por ser em PT-BR, e pelo "realismo" da época.
Tive que comprar, 23 anos depois e totalmente em inglês (agora entendendo tudo), ainda me trás tantas boas memórias daquela época na qual era criança, com meu pai ajudando a passar as missões "difíceis"...
É uma joia esquecida por aí, longe de ser perfeito porém amo esse game do fundo do meu coração 10/10
A bit of nostalgia, but the controls/available technology I think are a good improvement to this game, good range of difficulty in overall game play, platforming and puzzle solving beyond just a shooter based on the old wild west. The story is good with an AMZAING soundtrack, one of the perks to owning the original was that the game doubled as CDs where you could listen to the soundtrack, they knew they had great music. The bonus missions while don't really add to the story, are some fun additional content, and the many Easter eggs are fun as well.

DISCLAIMER! If you want to play this in 2025, you'll most likely need the Outlaws Unofficial Restoration Patch from moddb. Without it my game crashed all the time but with it, not a single time. It restricts you to a smaller screen where increasing resolution only makes texts smaller and you still have black bars, but makes the game playable on most if not all modern systems. Outlaws is also due for a TFE compatibility update sometime in the future (was supposed to get it last year).

Cara, joguei muito esse jogo quando era adolescente, naquelas revistas de PC gamer, acho q o nome era CD expert, devo ter alguma em alguma caixa até hoje, hahahah, comprava essas revistas direto, altos demos q vinham, haha, veio a Demo desse jogo, acho q só tinha um mapa se não me falha a memoria, é o segundo mapa da campanha principal, eu jogava ele, terminava o mapa e sempre ficava querendo mais, hahahaha, esse jogo tinha um gosto especial na minha infância... Jogava no saudoso Windows 95 (na verdade acho q tinha q entrar pelo DOS pra conseguir rodar ele, não lembro, mas lembro q muitos desses jogos eu rodava no DOS).
Comprei ele até tem algum tempo aqui na Steam, pretendo zerar, mas a verdade é q esse jogo, hoje em dia... Só serve como saudosismo pra quem jogou na época, pra quem nunca jogou, não vai ter o saudosismo e só vai achar o jogo ruim e datado.
É uma relíquia, a Steam poderia ter mais jogos assim da velha guarda, fogo ficar tendo q ir rpa outras plataformas, como a GOG pra conseguir algumas dessas relíquias!

I've seen people say this game was ahead of it's time, but it really wasn't. This game came out in 1997. That's the same year as 'GoldenEye 007'. It wasn't even close. And to make matters worse, other games that came out that year included 'Dungeon Keeper', 'Final Fantasy 7' & 'Tomb Raider'.
That being said, it's pretty fun once you get the keybindings set to something a bit more civilised,
although the the aggressively maze-like levels that have you searching every nook & cranny for the next key so that you can progress is frustrating, & obviously intended to compensate for the small number of tiny levels; you can complete the game in about 2 hours if you know where everything is.
Consider picking it up on sale, especially if you have a soft spot for old Clint Eastwood moves (like I do).
You could even be a total a-hole about it & try to beat the game before the 3-hour refund window expires ;P

This game came out the year I was born. It was a game my dad bought the box for. Two discs, had the cheats printed out, everything. Game was my childhood and the first FPS I ever got my hands on. It is a classic that I'll always come back to and enjoy. I've played through it I don't know how many times over the years. Finding it was on steam made me a very happy person.
If you're reading this, buy it. For six bucks, it's got a ton of replay-ability.

This is one of those titles that I really really wish I played back in the day. It's straight up western themed ‘boomer shooter’ with some really cool 2D animated sprites that really deserve the Lucas Arts stamp. Weapons all look and feel solid. And the level design is what to be expected from these types of games.
If you're still a fan of the ‘doom clones’ out there, this is a nice slice of history for a cheap price. Well worth a crack!

Babamın, ben daha doğmadan önce oynadığı bir oyundu. Doğduktan sonra ben de oynadım tabii ki. Bu oyunu ilk kez oynadığım anı anlatarak başlamak istiyorum. Babam, bana kendi kayıt dosyasını açardı ve onun kaldığı yerden biraz ilerleyince bir odaya denk gelirdim. Odanın içine girince, hafif karanlık bir ortamla karşılaşıyordum ve yerde hareket eden bir şeyler fark ediyordum. Küçükken ne olduğunu bilmiyordum ama meğerse o odada akrepler varmış. Zamanında ne olduklarını bilmediğim bu yaratıklar beni ısırıyor, canımı azaltıyor ve sonunda öldürüyorlardı. Bu yüzden küçükken bu oyundan, özellikle o akrepler yüzünden çok korkuyordum. Şu an oynadığım kısma kadar böyle akrepli bir odayla karşılaşmadım. Belki de yanlış hatırlıyorumdur, akrep değil de başka bir şeyde olabilir. Ama aklımda kalan anı bu şekildeydi.
Eğer grafik konusunda takıntınız yoksa, hâlâ keyifle oynanabilecek bir oyun. Bana göre zamanın eskitemediği oyunlardan biri.

este doom de vaqueros es muy bueno y tienes elementos que lo hacen bastante bueno y original con respecto a sus contenporaneos y mal llamados "clones de doom" historia, giros de trama y accion. eso si tiene que pre-configurarlo bien para disfrutarlo al maximo y lo vale.

Outlaws is a fun, pretty overlooked early FPS that features a lot of innovations for its time. It was the first game to have an in-screen sniper scope (as opposed to just zooming the whole screen in). The whole game is voice acted too, and the constant barks and taunts from the enemies really help guide you around the maze-like levels. There are also headshots to some degree- very satisfying to burst into a room and gun down a group of outlaws.
For your own sanity, play it on "good", because the game uses the migraine-inducing Dark Forces engine and back in 1997 they hadn't really worked out how to model "shooting someone below you". I swear, shooting a guy lower down works about half the time. Some levels also require consulting a guide for modern players- remember, back in the 20th century, a slightly different texture on a wall meant that this was something that can be interacted with! - but nothing too egregious.
Health and ammo pickups are plentiful at "Good" difficulty, which doesn't make it a chore to play.
Overall, a fun romp, with a fantastic Spaghetti Western score. I occasionally found myself just standing in the level and enjoying the atmosphere.
The game is also still running fine almost 30 years later. You'll find it constantly resizing the window and tabbing to desktop to play the cutscenes, but it's ok, just let it do its thing. Also, the intro 3dfx logo graphics are a video, skippable with ESC and pausable with space.
Oh, and remember to save. There's no autosave.

Oyunla ilgili söyleyebileceğim tek sıkıntı alt yazıların olmaması onun dışında aynı dönemde çıkan diğer FPS oyunlarıyla karşılaştırınca kontroller inanılmaz rahat ve oynaması da çok keyifli.

It may be an old game from the 90's but for me has brought back good memories.
The worst level design I have ever come across. I feel like kids making Garrys mod levels could pull something better off.

What a great game. A prime example how a good idea and production values can elevate an barely mediocre game. If you like westerns, just play it. It's like regularly 2 euros on discount with 9 missions that are maybe 30 min long each. Install emulator DREAMM (it wont count your steam ingame hours tho) and play it on the hardest difficulty for optimal experience.
