Es una novela visual muy cozy y reconfortante, con una historia tranquila que se enfoca mucho en el crecimiento de los personajes y en los pequeños momentos de la vida cotidiana. Lo más lindo del juego es cómo tus decisiones realmente influyen en la personalidad del protagonista, haciendo que la historia se sienta bastante personal.
Lo que sí, en algunos momentos puede volverse un poco lento, porque la historia se toma su tiempo con escenas cotidianas y diálogos largos. Igualmente se disfruta mucho, es una experiencia muy cálida, sobre todo si te gustan las historias tranquilas, sin dramas y centradas en los personajes.
Las cejas son interesantes.

很温暖治愈的一个游戏，谁能拒绝温柔害羞青梅竹马养成系啊！本体免费但是没有汉化，婚礼放在了付费dlc...游戏自由度很高，首先可以选择自己的性别，男或女或双性，其次可以选择和男主、家人、朋友是否要建立情感纽带（但是谁能拒绝这个温柔纯情小绿头蓝眼睛的cove呢）。游戏主要故事都挺日常的，dlc的话分别是三个step的补充故事、和cove的婚礼、和derek以及和Baxter的攻略线，美术集的话没什么好买的，step1里面cove的内容多一点，另外两个攻略对象的故事也挺好品的。剧情方面，其实玩的时候一直有被感动，特别喜欢英乙的翻窗文学，谁能拒绝一个翻窗找你只为了和你一起去看萤火虫、旅行回来第一时间翻窗来找你的男孩，每次我都会调侃他是罗密欧。说到调侃，这个小男孩特别容易被逗脸红呀好品好品。而且一旦在step1就开始坚定的选择他的话，他也会在后面每一个时刻坚定的选择你陪在你身边（甚至和姐姐吵架都是因为姐姐不让你和他的小队获得金牌，他自己是没那么在乎但觉得你值得）。自己的话，是在加州和两个相爱的母亲，以及一个有点强势实际上很爱你的姐姐住在一起，而街对面是cove和他的帅气爽朗老爹，还有一个开朗活泼关心你的表姐，以及一些亲密无间的朋友（一定不要和derek渐渐疏远呀..也一定要问Baxter要联系方式啊...）就像真正经历了一场截然不同的美好人生，它并不是戏剧性地去制造心动，而是用一种非常缓慢、温柔的方式，让你真正参与一个人的成长。从8岁到18岁，我和Cove的关系不是被设定好的，而是一步一步“选择出来”的，是主动靠近，还是慢慢试探，是早早喜欢，还是后来才意识到感情，抑或是最终成为很亲密的朋友——这些都是我自己的决定。所以代入感很强，在夕鸟镇的这几个夏天不再只是季节的更替，而是被反复记住的时间。最后那一场盛大圆满的婚礼，或许意味着幻梦的终点，但我知道他会一直在那里，在那个海边的小镇，在那些漫长又温柔的夏天里，和所有爱我的以及我爱的人一起。

Une toute petite, minuscule question toutefois: comment un jeu de romance peut-il être si peu cher (voire gratuit si l'on prend que l'histoire avec Cove) alors qu'il est aussi excellent dans la forme (chara design, background, musiques) que dans le fond (personnages tous aussi intéressants les uns que les autres, le MC pas aussi niais comme ce que l'on peut retrouver dans bon nombre d'otome games, de la personnalisation et beaucoup de choix, de l'inclusivité, parfois des sujets difficiles plutôt bien abordés à mon avis)…???!
Je ne comprends pas, comment l'équipe qui a conçu ce jeu peut être rémunérée à sa juste valeur…?
Un LN d'une quasi perfection, dont je ne parviens plus à m'en passer depuis trois semaines non stop, mais que j'ai malheureusement terminé bien trop vite, du coup je ne sais pas à quoi jouer maintenant haha (au secours…).
Il nous faudrait d'autres DLC / jeux comme celui-ci pour subvenir à cette nouvelle addiction... et vite.

LOVED this!! Found myself going from thinking wavy eyebrows were weird to adamantly defending them. Such a sweet story and characters. Even the free version (base game) is already 100% satisfying, but I bought some of the demos to support the devs and because I wanted more :) Currently my favorite VN game on Steam.
This has to be one of my favorites of all time. I am not usually a visual novel person, I prefer FPS or other action style games, but when I saw this I just had to try it out. The characters are adorable, the sibling and parental angst is so real, and the slowburn love story is just so heartwarming. I am so so excited for Our Life Now & Forever. I can already tell how well the characters motivations and individual personalities are constructed and It makes me excited for November! Our Life: Beginnings & Always will forever have a space in my heart. I am thankful for a game with so much subtle representation.

A visual novel with so much variety. Lots to explore and see the different dynamics. Works on Steam Deck with the trackpad. Edited to add: Steam now says it's unsupported on the Steam Deck. I played the game in August 2025 and it was marked "Playable" then. I haven't checked recently but I don't see why it wouldn't work now. You have to use the keyboard which is annoying but not impossible.

O jogo começa quando vc conhece o Cove, que é uma criança que ta passando por uma mudança delicada, perdida em situações e sentimentos complexos. O Cove foi um personagem masculino que me impactou MUITO, talvez tbm por eu ter achado q esse seria só mais um jogo bobinho de romance, com personagens e roteiros cliches. O Cove é um menino muito sensível e vulnerável. Ele tem muita dificuldade e medo de lidar com os proprios sentimentos e com o futuro. Eu nao sei oq pode mudar na historia dependendo das escolhas, mas eu segui uma rota romantica e foi possivel ver de perto a evolução e o amadurecimento dele ao longo dos anos. Ele não é um personagem masculino "padrão", confiante, que ta lá cuidando dos seus dramas e fazendo suas vontades. Pelo contrário, ele é um menino com limites claros, inseguranças e que vai precisar muito mais do seu "colo" doq vc vai precisar do dele. Isso me chocou muito vindo de um personagem masculino, em um jogo q eu achei q era apenas de namoro. Por mais q esse jogo ja traga msm uma diversidade de pessoas e relações interpessoais muito grande, esse jeito do Cove me pegou totalmente desprevenida e vai me fazer refletir muito. O fato do Cove ser como ele é, tambem tira um pouco o jogador do pedestal de protagonista, e eu achei isso muito legal. As vezes parece q tudo oq importa é fazer ele se sentir bem e não apenas fazer oq vc quer ou estar no controle doq acontece e quando acontece entre voces dois.
Eu falei muito do Cove pq realmente a personalidade e o amadurecimento dele é muito incrível de testemunhar, mas esse não é apenas um joguinho de namoro. É um jogo sobre a vida, sobre relações, sobre crescer e mudar. E da pra ver claramente como esse jogo foi feito com MUITO amor e atenção a cada detalhe, cada personagem, cada desenrolar do futuro. I haven't finished it yet but I'm like an hour in and was forced to be a vegan so sadly i have to give it a thumbs down for now.
EDIT: finished it and you ARE eventually able to choose NOT to be a vegan, so I will remove the not recommend, consider yourself lucky game.
Oh, also finished the story, it was cute.
This was recommended to me by my adult daughter and Im glad I took a chance to play it. I can only say 2 possibly negative things about it: 1- No one's parents are that understanding. I had to cringe at their reactions to the MC & friend's shenanigans. I kinda wanted em to cuss them out. 2- Cove's voice is squeaky to me. I get sounding like that as a child but as an adult, it was hard to "feel" romantically for him. Now Baxter's voice... Whew. Yum.
But this game is so sweet. It reminds me of a time of innocence long past. It reminded me of when I fell in love for the first (and only) time. Who doesnt dream of that forever love that grew over time to be something truly magical? I was lucky enough to have that love and while he has passed away, this game resonated with me; bringing back all the memories of a time when love was new and exciting. The feelings of nostalgia had me glued to my seat playing this almost all the way through in the first sitting. And then, the characters were so intriguing that I bought all the storyline DLCs and will be joining the Patreon for extra content.
Overall, this is a truly beautiful game- the characters, the locale, the storyline, the lessons of trust, compassion, and understanding - all make the emotional rollercoaster well worth it <3

This is the only visual novel that made me obsessed even as an adult. I couldn't think about anything else beside coming home and playing it. I bought all Cove's DLC (I even went to their patreon and got the 18+ contents) but I didn't buy Derek or Baxter DLC because felt like I was cheating on Cove.
Every character felt real and made me feel like I was part of it, that I was living in Sunset Bird and had a crush on my seaweed hair neighbour...
Prior to playing this game, I was imagining a romance story where we followed their stages of life and Our Life was exactly what I wanted, what I desired the most.
This game makes finding another visual novel/ romance/ otome game SO MUCH harder because it's SO good. I still can't get over the fact that this game made me feel like I was 12~14 years old, with butterflies on my stomach and making me have cuteness aggression.
I crave more, but this game feels so short for how good it is.
This game sadly isn't very replayable, even if you try different affection levels, it feels all the same.
But it's a amazing first time playthrough.
The CGs are a bit inconsistent (some of them so goofy, i couldn't look Cove in the eye), probably because there are around 3 artists making the CGs.
Many of my choices felt redundant, because they led to the same conclusion but it was sweet it actually made an impact in later steps.
Cove
Cove is such a wholesome crybaby, he's supportive and a lovable dork. Every time I remember about this game I ask the same question that everyone here already said: Why are you not real?
This game shook me so much, I felt sick and anxious when I was NOT playing it because it felt boring without it

I found this while looking for free games on Steam with my friend and thought why not let's try it. I streamed to him as we played and man... We were squealing over Cove basically the whole time. We're not even done with the game! I'm definitely going to be getting some DLC in the future too
Just play the game. JUST. PLAY. THE. GAME. If you're thinking about it, do it. Do it without context, do it without reading reviews, go into it blindly and I promise it's cheaper (and somehow possibly better*) than therapy. I don't want to give too much away, but the DLCs are all worth it, there are countless hours to play, countless options, endlessly customizable. 15/10 stars at least.

I've started over and played as three different oc's because there's a lot of flexibility! Usually, the story games I've played you're always forced into situations, settings, and relationships! But on this game, you aren't! Mostly, you can choose where you go, what you do, and who you like and don't like! This is FIRE and I love this game so much!
Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show-stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before... okay, meme aside, this is genuinely how I feel about this game and Cove. This is THE visual novel. Nothing tops this. Perhaps Our Life: Now and Forever will be able to, but right now, no VN in existence will offer you what this game does. The amount of choices throughout the game is incredible, the amount of freedom when it comes to establishing your character's identity, the way Cove changes based on your actions too, gods... the replay value of this game is insane. This is THE VN, THE cozy game.
Every time I wear an anklet I think of Cove, any time I see a small coastal town I'm reminded of Sunset Bird. This game leaves a mark, in the most wonderful way.

This game made me cry a good cry. Overall, I would say it is the best visual novel out there. I mean, I don't have much experience with visual novels, but this one really stood out to me. I can not recommend this game enough! It's such a relaxing, sweet experience and I love Cove so much lol. The writing is so well done and charming. The main story romance is sooo cute it had me kicking my feet and grinning like an idiot! Genuinely a life changing game! I came to find it a few years ago and it settled into my heart like something warm and familiar. Coming from someone who did not have the best childhood, it felt like a really kind hug that I needed. Recently, I replayed it for the DLC's and it's surprising how much I fell in love with it again. One of the last things the game says is that you can always come back and I believe it's the sort of game that never truly leaves you. The characters and all that they go through and become are such delightful treasures and I'm really thankful I stumbled upon this game. There's so much content to do and so many choices and it really allows you to immerse in a way other games aren't able to typically provoke. I would recommend anyone to play and find a little bit of home in it.

This game is gorg!!! Cove is a great protag with so many sweet moments and so sosoooo much chemistry when you pursue him. All of the dlcs are 100% worth it with Baxter being my favorite optional suitor. The extra content may be optional but without it you miss a bunch of sweet moments. For being a free game you get so much content with so much different dialog and small tweaks based off of what you say and how you feel. If you like visual novels with an investing story and long playtime this game is for you!
Oh my f*cking god any one who reads this needs to buy the game. I am not gay but the story line and character development is at its peak in this engaging and entertaining story. Cove has got to be one of the most beautiful and well built characters. He is shy but also loving and he also fits whatever kind of mind you have. I would definitely get this game and finish it at least once.

可选特别多，这真是视觉小说能做到的自由度吗特别特别惊叹，能做这么多分支的工程量肯定巨大。
从来没觉得一个游戏能这么包容，不仅仅是角色形象，甚至流动的性向、喜好、社交反馈都非常自由，不必刻意迎合谁只需要做自己，也不仅仅只有恋爱还能感受到真实的亲情和友情。
感觉自己被重新养了一遍，真是特别温暖的作品！强烈推荐！！

A pretty decent game for those who like cozy visual novels.
I played primarily to complete one storyline in particular, and then I played a bit of a second playthrough to see what level of impact choices had.
I bought all the DLC, though Cove was not the character I was focused on, and I didn't play through Baxter's content.
Those are my disclaimers.
What I liked:
* Heartfelt story
* Solid primary characters with distinct voices
* The game decently accommodates players who want their choices to influence things and those who want more control
* Decent music and artwork
* Accessible writing style
* Accommodating toward diversity
* It's possible to rewind memories and make different choices
* Derek!
What didn't work for me:
* The writing style bored me. It's too tell-y, some details were superfluous, and there were instances where writing could have been condensed by using prettier/more impactful word choices. I started skimming through a lot of the narrations by step 2, only focusing on the dialogue.
* A few dramatic moments felt forced.
* In fairness, part of it is probably my monitor, but the text display is a heavy strain on my eyes. A white text outline doesn't really help when the background is also white, but the text would be too skinny without an outline. It would've been nice if there were ways to customize the text and outline colors, if not also the background.
* Like most choice-driven narrations, a lot, if not most, of the options tend to be little colorful things that seem to have very little real impact.
* In your character's customization screens, it's possible to suggest the gendered clothing your character wears, but then there would also be choices in the narration on what clothes your character chooses to wear. So, I didn't understand the point of the customization choices if they didn't influence anything.
* When hovering over choices, there are background colors that are meant to suggest tone, but I felt like, more often than not, the suggested tone did not align with the tone from the choices' labels. I had to force myself to ignore the colors.
* Before each step, you can choose your character's comfort level with a given character. I toyed with it with Derek and quickly played through his first memory. Maybe the character/memory wasn't the best choice for exploring my curiosity, and I probably missed instances, but it seemed to color the narration in very minimal ways.
* You can also choose your character's interest level toward each character. That has more impact, which is great, but at least in terms of indifferent vs fond, Cove mirrors your interest level, and it did disappoint me a bit because I wanted more roleplay potential in the story, or a more natural relationship progression between memories based on the personality I had in mind for my character. To be clear, I grasped the intent from the tutorial and respect the design; this is a purely personal complaint, not an attempt to suggest the game should have done something differently.
* Derek doesn't really appear in step 3. I became fixated on him after his appearance, so I was pretty impatient during that step.
* In Derek's epilogue, there is an expositional choice that, to me, suggested that you visited the family annually while you and Derek are apart, but the storyline itself plays out as if you hadn't seen any of his family between steps 2 and 4. That lack of continuity bugged me, and so did the idea that your character could've done nothing to bridge what seemed like a gap between yourself and Derek. Overall, I enjoyed his content, but yeah.
I love this game! (*^▽^*) I come back to it at least once a year just to replay it. The base game alone is great and long too! (≧ω≦) I have ALL the DLCs and must say, they're absolutely worth it! The game makes me feel something, like finding the childhood friend I never really had. (´；ω；`) It has its fun moments, but also some emotional stuff. (T_T) I also love how there are no RIGHT answers. You can choose what you would actually say. And that's what I love about this game. I don't need a guide for a "good" ending. I can be myself and spend my time with Cove! (♡ω♡)

The most wholesome and heartwarming gaming ive EVER played!!! The inclusivity, the story, the characters, everything about this game was absolutely wonderful. Not only is it visually beautiful but the game itself is. To think the base game is free is absolutely nuts, in a great way! I would pay 30 bucks for the regular story itself but no, I got to enjoy this masterpiece without cost. Not to mention how much the DLC adds to it as well, it is clear that the creators have so much love for their story, characters, and art. I have never giggled, cried, and smiled so much within such a short amount of time. I recommend getting the dlc for the extra content as it does add little cute details and the depth of the connection you can have.

This game became a hyperfixation of mine for months to the point where I was looking up Cove edits on TikTok. Almost every point of this story, YOU get to take the initiative to control the narrative and it was SO fun to see all the different paths I could take. Our Life not only gave you room to customize almost everything, but the story was also RICH, FUN, and so well written! The music was lovely and I have zero complaints about the game. I wish I could play it all over again for the first time.

This game holds a special place in my heart, even among the plentiful other visual novel games I played. There's a unique warmth to Our Life that I haven't seen replicated anywhere and though the main love interest is obviously Cove (who is incredibly lovable), the two DLC love interests, Baxter and Derek, are just as fleshed out with stories that are engagin to explore. It's also surprising how the route where you choose to be cold with Cove all the way through the years still has new content (more family content :D). I always come back to this game when I have time and this is also the first game I bought every single dlc for, including their patreon one. I adore the world GB Patch created in this game.

I don't think I can ever put into words just how much this game means to me. I first played it back in April of 2022 and I was charmed instantly. Watching all the DLCs come out was such an amazing feeling. Cove Holden will forever remain as one of my favorite characters. I grew alongside him and learned so much about myself through this visual novel, that honestly no other one will ever compete with it in my mind haha. If you ever get the chance to play this, please do!

This game is beautifully written and so fun to play. I love the character customization and that your choices actually matter. As someone who has fully played through all of the romance routes (90+ hours on an older steam account and 15+ hours on this one), it is fun throughout every playthrough. It has a ton of replayability and I can't wait for the full release of their next game, Our Life: Now and Forever <3

I love this game a lot, a few years ago I was obsessed with another VN but then once I found this game I slowly started to favor this game. I still play the other game but this game just made me really happy to play and experience growing up in a different place with different experiences. It was really fun!
A super wholesome and well made visual novel game. There are many thoughtful choices, and the family and friends scenario seem very real. This healed a part of my baby queer self, and if you need that too, definitely give this one a try

I discovered this game as I was going through a strong burn out with my school work were I felt no motivation to do anything, I had found it earlier this month and was intrigued by the concept, I have always had a love for visual novels (like 'The Arcana') and hadn't been able to find something whimsical and fun; I had also been going through a long burn out with finding games that peaked my interest as I couldn't find something that felt fresh, fun and immersing. I must say! I have been extremely hooked and even cried when I finished this game, admittedly I bought the DLC's as soon as I was through mid-game play. It is such a beautiful game, I have always had a safe space/feeling towards summer, school summer vacation and the ocean as most of my memories stem from those three. The DLC's, the characters, the vast options, inclusivity and nostalgic feel are the reasons why I absolutely love this game, it is a true gem that I have yapped about to my friends just a few days into playing. If you went through a similar burn out and have an interest in visual novels then I truly would give this game a try, I wish I had found it sooner because it helped me get out of these burn outs. :)
