Сначала ловишь вайбы тех самых кривых-косых игр, даже приятно.
А потом распробуешь полностью......
Квестовые предметы не отмечены никак. Банально даже карточки на втором уровне хрен найдешь, ты реально бегаешь и тупо по всему, что светится тыкаешь E.
Дальше больше: дверь, которая должна быть открыта (или открываться игроком) - тупо не работает. Ты даже по миникарте видишь, что там противники, можешь их убить сквозь эту самую дерь, тебе стопроцентно туда надо, но ты туда не попадешь.)))
В общем: такие игры надо было покупать в 2000-х, максимум в 2010-х.
Сейчас это просто шлак.

I'm a connoisseur of games that are considered "bad first-person shooters", it's been my lifeblood for the last 5 years. During the pandemic I got really into scouring the internet for FPS games that no one had ever heard of, and since then I've slowly been making my way through the list. The latest one on the chopping block is Operation: Matriarchy or Velian, its original Russian title, a game that, according to reviewers, sucks. Well I'm here to tell you that they're kinda right, but also extremely wrong. This is quite frankly one of the most ridiculous games I've ever played. A 'so bad it's good' ordeal that is sooooo bad it wraps back around to being a one-of-a-kind experience that is genuinely incredible. Let's talk about that.
What's the story here? It's the 24th century and humanity have begun their colonisation of space thanks to the Federation of Earth. Along the way they come across a planet called Velia, home to a virus that has infected the female population turning them into freakish killbots. The male population? Enslaved and experimented on! The Velians then instigate an all-out war against the Federation, because why not? The game begins amidst the war when our beloved protagonist PAUL ARMSTRONG (or John Armstrong, but best to just call him Armstrong) awakes from cryosleep to the sound of his ship being attacked. From here on out, I can't exactly say what happens, because the story is disseminated to the player through walls of texts in the loading screens that I did NOT feel like reading, and the occasional text exchange between Armstrong and (I believe) Admiral Horst at the beginning of every level. Horst's daughter is kidnapped by the Velians, and you gotta save her (and also get the ♥♥♥♥ off the ship). It's a generic sci-fi plot that is perfectly serviceable for the game but nothing to write home about. The brief snippets of lore that I read about in the loading screens (mainly detailing the different types of enemies) seemed to invite a lot more questions than answers, but that's neither here or there. You're not here for the story, you're here for everything else.
I'll get the bad out of the way. It's too easy. My health bar never dipped under 80hp. There's always plenty of ammo and it's like the enemies' bullets aren't even landing. They also love to just funnel into a corridor and beeline straight towards you. The gunplay itself also feels hollow. No real punch to the weapons, nor any feedback from the enemies. They show no resistance until death. Some of the Velians are major bullet-spongey, taking hundreds to the chest from my minigun. The structuring of the levels can be a wee bit confusing sometimes (but later on I will defend this). The mini-map marks where you need to go, but the maps, while mostly linear, can massively open up making it a trek to get where you need to go. When I say massively open up I really mean massive, especially in the final hour of the game where there's so much elevation. The mini-map marker also doesn't feel entirely accurate. It always seems to be a few metres adjacent to where you need to be. So when you're trying to find a key card or a switch on a console comprising of about 7 identical switches, it can get a little confusing.
These are all just minor complaints compared to the big one everyone brings up, the sound. There simply isn't any sound. Well that's not true, there is sound. There's SFX for your guns, doors opening, and when an enemy is wounded. It's faint, but it's there. The major thing detracting from this game is the lack of an ambient soundscape. No music, no drones, no nothing! You're on a cyborg-alien-infested spaceship, there's surely going to be a lot of noise. But noooooooope! You could justify the distinct lack of an aural atmosphere as THE atmosphere, a very cold and isolated one. Nary the whir of a machine on this here ship. The fan-made patch is vital to playing this game as it fixes some of the SFX, improves the English translation, and adds in a bunch of music ranging from techno to industrial metal to trip hop, that all having a distinctively futuristic and spaced out vibe to them, complimenting the game very well.
So what does the game do well? The aesthetic. It's the aesthetic. The reason why I'm recommending this game despite some glaring issues and generally subpar gameplay is that the visual aspect of Operation: Matriarchy is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Nuts (literally). What starts off as a generic corridor shooter on a spaceship soon morphs into something much more idiosyncratic and, dare I say it, avant-garde. The first hour, drab and lifeless (but varied) hallways with the occasional docking bay. The last two hours as you plunge deep into Velian territory? Pure H.R. Giger and Zdzisław Beksiński worship. Surreal industrial dystopian phallocentric gothicism up the wazoo. Yes, I did just say phallocentric. There are giant penis structures littered throughout Velia that seemingly serve no purpose but are absolutely striking in their design. This is the most Alien game in existence, yes I'd argue even moreso than Scorn. The creature design alone is absolutely disgusting. Cronenbergian body transmogrifications of the most delightfully disturbing and vomit-inducing variety. Half-human half-machine hybrids make up the majority of the foes fought (up to 10 enemies on screen at a time, very impressive for a budget title). Completely balls-to-the-wall artistry on display here. Everything is gooey and slimey and psychosexual. The Velian landscape is pure biomechanical heaven. The surroundings feel alive. The doors merge into nonsensical Giger-esque organic matter, the walls become fleshy and vaginal. The levels themselves become absolutely massive, giving off this vibe that they weren't made for humans to play in. And that makes sense, because this is an alien world, but wow the design of these levels are insane. There are rooms that lead to more rooms that lead to nowhere. There are ginormous areas with nothing in them but strange structures and Velian enemies. It exudes an abstract alien atmosphere that I haven't felt in any other video game before. It's like I'm really traversing some forgotten world. Some may say this is poor level design and poor direction from the devs to the player, but I'd say this is one of the most incredible experiences I've ever had in a game. Trying to wrack my brain around the absurd Velian environments makes for an unforgettable experience, and one I wish I could forget so I may relive over and over.
As a game, Operation: Matriarchy is a by-the-numbers run and gun FPS that rarely poses a challenge amidst all its broken and buggy glory. As an audiovisual experience however, this might be one of the most mind-melting surreal experiences I've ever had. Equal parts hallucinatory, hypnagogic and downright disgusting, Operation: Matriarchy is best viewed as an example of video games as art. It's not a terribly fun nor enjoyable thing to play through, but if you temper your expectations and understand that it's less of a game and more of an experience, you're bound to have one hell of a time.

Ну про две вещи я все-таки скажу: звуки выстрелов и рикошетов, настолько потешно звучат будто сбежали из мультсериала «Луни Тюнз». Финальный ролик, это вверх драматургии.

Дизайны противниц отличные, всё остальное сделано на отъебись. Включая и саму стим-версию, в которой надо самостоятельно качать фанатский патч на починку звука.
Женщины используют мужчин для получения биоматериала и материнского капитала.
Нападают на мужика, как только он заговорил о своих правах. Яжематери готовы на всё лишь бы уничтожить последнего свободного мужчину.
Игра запускается на современном железе.
IMPORTANT NOTES BEFORE PLAYING - 3 things you need to know in order to enjoy this game.
1: it's in 4:3 aspect ratio so you need to play in 1024×768 or 1280×960 to make sure everything displays properly.
2: for some reason this essential control isn't listed in the game options or tutorial - press G to drop the weapon you're holding! You can only carry 4 guns at a time so you will need to know this in order to use all the different weapons.
3: the game is playable as it comes, but the music doesn't work - so you'll need to get a fan-made patch if you want the soundtrack.

Operation Matriarchy was a very pleasant surprise for me - I wasn't expecting much due to the multitude of bad reviews, but I was drawn to it for its unique aesthetic and I'm so glad I chose to judge it for myself - this is a genuinely good game in my opinion.
I'll start with the aesthetics - the surreal, creepy cyberpunk/biopunk world of Operation Matriarchy is an extremely unique blend of influences - my guesses for the inspirations behind this are Quake and Star Trek (for the cyborg bodyhorror enemy designs of the Strogg and the Borg), Alien (for Operation Matriarchy's Giger-like organic architecture) and Riven (OM has many "liminal" and "creepily beautiful" feeling locations that make it remind me of Riven more than anything else, despite the game being a different genre).
It's an extremely creative mix of influences, and the game keeps serving up new and different, meticulously handcrafted locations in every level. It's honestly a really impressive effort considering it was a small team, low budget release. If you love games that have unique, weird atmosphere, read no further as it's worth a play through for this alone.
Gameplay - a lot of people are saying this feels bad to control, but I'm puzzled by this - for me the controls were smooth and responsive. The action is fairly basic but it works well enough to add some excitement to the main focus of exploring OM's world as figuring out your path through sprawling and sometimes labyrinthine levels. The general combat and level design feel is a little like Chaser or Alpha Prime, but I think OM is better than both these games as the pacing is tighter and the path forward is never so fiendishly hard to figure out that I needed to check a walkthrough. OM adds an additional layer of interest to the action by including drivable mechs/exosuits - later in the game you unlock a jet pack too, so the gameplay is more varied than many indie shooters.
OM's general themes and atmosphere are very creepy - the twisted enemy designs and their nightmarish environments give a strong edge of horror to the experience, which combines really well with the "backrooms"-like surreal vibe. The dark-yet-trippy experience of Operation Matriarchy is similar to Cruelty Squad and Beyond Citadel to me.
In conclusion - this is an unfairly underappreciated game that swam in a lane of its own. It's full of bold, creative design and does a great job at fascinating the player with unpredictable, beautiful and disturbing scenarios. It runs way more easily than many of the "eurojank" fps games on steam, which is a bonus, but my main complaint is that the music fixing patch should be integrated into the steam release seeing as the game is still "actively" being sold. I actually played through it without getting the patch because I don't mind a quieter experience - I didn't miss it much, but I'd have like to get the full experience without needing to do a DIY fix.
Still - Operation Matriarchy comes highly recommended for fans of dark scifi, liminal/backrooms aesthetics and creatively unique games.

В 2005 году, увидев в магазине диск Велиан (Operation: Matriarchy) после прочитанного обзора в журнале Игромания, решение о покупке почему-то не принял, как оказалось и не зря.
А все почему? Да потому-что явно видно, что над игрой работали только художники без собственных идей, что отражается простой переработкой от куда-то подтянутых текстур натянутых на модельки уродцев. Звук — это отдельная тема, его по факту нет, тема закрыта.
Сюжет, но тут никакого негатива, просто скажу — говно.
Игру прошел от начала до конца, с трудом в 2025 году, потратил на нее 37 рублей, и знаете что? Я бы потратил на нее 3700 рублей, если бы знал, что в этому году, ну или в следующем выйдет продолжение Шторма. Была мысль выкупить все права и вложить пару десятков мультов для начала продолжения, но сейчас не то время.
Рекомендую ли я игру Оператион: Матриархи? Не понял что ли еще? Купи лучше Doom 3.

Cool game but it needs a remake. This is one of those bad but guilty pleasure type of games. As long as you lower your standards and enjoy what it has to offer, you should be fine.

A játékban rengeteg fegyver található ezekből egyszerre ötöt vihetünk magunkkal, s nem egyszer harci robot páncélzatot is viselhetünk. Menüt kivéve a zene valahogy kimaradt, vagy csak nekem nem játszotta a játék, vannak helyette lökött gyári zajfelvételek és merevlemez olvasófej cincogás is.
Pozitívumként hozható fel a játékban található pályadizájnok és a nagy terek jó kivitelezése.

Ну что сказать... Я рекомендую эту игру, но лишь в качестве истории российского игростроя. По сути, это ответ Quake 2, но! Она бюджетная буквально полностью. Например, у игры нет музыки. Серьезно)) У игры отсутствует саундтрек и его не то, что вырезали, нет, его не было изначально. один трек и тот в меню. Звуки тоже низкочественые. По продолжительности, ну часов на 6 максимум игра. В свое время, она имела скандальную рекламу за границей - мужик против женщин. Потому что все противники в игре, модифицированные кибер женщины. Не зря название переводиться как Операция Матриархат. Короче, только для истории. Единственные плюсы - неплохой дизайн уровней, особенно, начиная с середины игры и хорошая графика на тот момент. one of the best fps scifi games i played in the last years, and i hadnt bunnyhopped so much and so good since the early days of half life 2 hahaha, i love this game, i had this sitting in my hard disk for two years and never played it, but i'm glad i did.
truly and hidden gem of retrogaming
This is a really rough gem. The game is kinda janky, as the HUD doesnt works in Widescreen, all maps look almost the same, the plot is questionable at best and the gameplay is really outdated for its time, but at the same time it works quite well once you patch it with an unofficial patch, the maps are barely any confusing at all and seemed quite well paced and despite its repetitive gameplay, it is decently fun.
A little gem...Unfortunately it no longer runs on Steam, at least for me, but I have it as the original CD version and I liked it.

The First 4 Hours of the Game is not that Bad.

I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Когда в 2005 году, делали игры где текстуры "натянуты" на всей карте, и нигде не просвечивают...
Детально проработанная история, то - чем "вывозили" разработчики 2000... и чего под час не хватает сейчас.
Как игра, для 2023г. - не интересно, уже графика, геймплей, и ИскИн другие, лучшего формата, и казалось бы рекомендовать её не за что, но как игра 2000, она вполне себе сойдёт. До 2007-10 годов, хороших шутеров было крайне мало, и эта - имеет своё место быть. К сожалению, многие современные игры, не дотягивают даже до неё.
Не рекомендую покупать, игра даже по меркам "того времени" хуева, честно говоря.
Можно разве что купить для числа игр в стиме, фарма карточек и тп, но только по скидону.
Велиан или Операция Матриархат
Operation Matriarchy - освещает новую грань фантастической Вселенной третьего тысячелетия. Война идет между войсками экспедиционного корпуса Галактической Федерации и Оборонительными силами планеты Велиан - одной из колоний, использующей инопланетные технологии.

Давно в детстве как то наткнулся, видимо заинтересовало тоже что и сейчас от части, сильная половина современного человечества)
Так вот когда я наткнулся на эту игру в стиме, я сразу вспомнил при каких обстоятельствах ее дропнул. И мне стало не по себе даже сейчас. А дело в собственно в чем, там в начале, ты некого не трогаешь, я точно не помню был пацаном мелким, изучаю окружение взяли ли я пистолет или они стригерились сами, ожидая увидел женщин(сейчас) тогда просто играл, выбегает какой то краб, мужик, страшный ужас.
Я тогда сразу же alt+f4 и мне снились кошмары, а почему то думал все время что это было в постале 3 хах. А сейчас я значит тоже напугался, детская травма некуда не делась, по в этот раз я поумнее залез на стол, пережил это)
Ошибка моя была в том что я стартанул на высокой сложности, Ужас как задушили на втором уровне. Дизайн локация тут нагнетающий, мне было неуютно. Сначала думал перепройти потом на сложном, но потом понял что сюда я больше не вернусь) А так дизайн сильной половины современного человечества порадовал, было приятно смотреть.

Коротко - Полное Govno и трэш.
Не понимаю, почему у меня запустилась эта игра, только после пиратки я решил проверить, запустится она или нет ещё раз и... внезапно да. Ну ок. Прошёл вот только что, мучаясь от душевных болей личного характера, чтобы отвлечься и вспомнить былое. Лучше мой единственный сын сделал бы камин аут, не так скверно было бы.
Я счастливый обладатель этой игры, покупал её ещё в 2005 году, смотрел сзади коробки скрины, читал крутое описание. Думал, во крутая заруба. Установил на свой пука, запустил и через два часа побежал назад в магазин. В итоге перед нами игра получше чем kreed но по сути такая же мешанина и недоделанный трэш.
Плохо не всё, но очень многое. Дизайн монстров, оружия и корабля велиан, хороши. Но в целом в эту игру лучше играть в пьяным или вгашеным бутиратом, только тогда в ней будет динамика, музыка и драйв, которые в трезвом состоянии в игре отсутствуют так как если их если и запланировали родители этой игры, то сдали сильно после релиза и в другой реальности. Парадокс шутеров с бывшего ссср, могут написать свой движок, инструментарий для разработки, но не могут сyka сделать игру.
Не знаю сколько заняло прохождение игры. Но ощущения у меня от игры такие, как будто врач мне сказал, со смехом доктора Ливси, что мне осталось жить пару дней один из которых я буду мучаться в агонии. Всю игру бегаем по футуристической космической икее и стреляем по садомазохистам, мало игр где нужно в таком колличестве истреблять и бить женщин, буду рекомендовать её фемкам как пример мужского произвола и доминирования.
Как я себя чувствовал в 2005 году потратив все деньги за две недели по копейке накопленные с обедов. Как чувак которому шершавым провели по губам, оттрабанили на всю длинну и оставили на улице. Так как этот диск назад продавец не принял и поменял мне его на Территорию тьмы, ну это совсем другая история. Нет динамики, музыки, сюжета, крутого оружия, нет ничего ради чего её можно было купить здесь и вообще ей существовать. Понимаете?

Запускается без проблем,играется плавно без просадок,есть не большие баги(если последняя миссия забаговалась автосохранение в помощь)!Широкоформат не поддерживается и долгие загрузки между уровнями.
Cоветую данную игру для ознакомления альфа самцам,куколдам и фемкам вход воспрещен,игру можно приобрести на распродажах за копейки 20-30р
This game has very good art direction, the enemies are creepy as hell although a bit bland. i dont know whats going on with this sound bug, or whatever but so far its a janky fps from mid 2000's its pretty cool though theres some awesome ideas here.

Resolution doesn't scale properly. I don't think that this game was worth it back in 2005 either, but some people might enjoy it considering its price on sale.
Great texturing and modeling, some really inspired level architecture and enemy models. Also gotta love the space AK-47
just make sure you play it with the unofficial fan made patch otherwise there is no music and the game looks pretty unfinished on it's original state

Полные коридоры полуголых женских особей. По правде говоря матриархат не удался. Всё уничтожил один солдат мужского пола.
С концовкой только не очень понятно. Можно было сделать ролик где гг забирают его друзья-десантники. Но увы.
Радует что хотя бы сражался не зря мужик. Добывал инфу во вражьем стане.

В целом пiздато получилось))) Рекомендую к покупке для познания структуры женско-паразитического общества на примере расы Велианцев.

Ez a játék ennek a "stílusnak" egy archetipikus példánya, konkrétan befejezetlenül adták ki, nincs zene és az összes hang szabad felhasználású internetes adatbázisokból származik. A kezelés teljesen kiforratlan és a sztori is értelmetlen hülyeség (mondjuk nem az utóbbitól befejezetlen a game).
Ugyanakkor látszik, hogy a készítők többre szánták ezt a játékot, a modellek egész jók (persze 2005-ös viszonylatban), illetve olyan extra dolgok is vannak a játékban, mint az időnként felvehető energiapáncél, ami megváltoztatja mind az interface-t, mind a mozgást, mind a fegyverparkot.
Elakadni nem nagyon lehet, szerencsére jelzi a radar, hogy merre kell menni, az ellenségek pedig özönlenek számolatlanul. Ami idegesítő, hogy a hullák egy része állva marad a lelövése után is, így a harc hevében nem mindig egyértelmű, felfordult-e már az adott ellenség.
Újra mondom, csak annak ajánlom, aki kedveli a ZS-kategóriás, de jellegzetes stílusú FPS-eket. Lehet, hogy gagyi ez a játék, de nem jellegtelenül gagyi!
Ja, és egyszer sem találkoztam gamebreaking buggal, összeomlani is csak egyszer omlott össze (a főellenségnél). Ezt megirigyelhetné sok mai "befejezett" játék is.

Начнем с главного: "Велиан"/ Operation Matriarchy очень и очень плоха. Казалось бы, ее делала та же MADia Entertainment, что разработала культовую дилогию "Шторм" - два крепких для своего времени аркадных авиасимулятора [spoiler](которые на Steam известны как Echelon и Echelon: Wind Warriors; правда, чтобы запустить их на Win10 придется долго танцевать с бубнами)[/spoiler] - однако выяснилось, что это не совсем так. После того, как второй "Шторм" провалился в продажах из-за низкой популярности жанра среди геймерской аудитории начала 2000-х, из студии ушло много грамотных разработчиков; те же, что пришли им на замену, совершенно не понимали как создать увлекательный FPS, и потому решили импровизировать (то есть, лепить что попало в надежде на волшебный "авось").
В итоге у обновленной MADia получился шутер, достойный стоять на одной полке разве что с Kreed, Rat Hunter или самым оголтелым трэшаком от Orion Games (вроде "Метро-2: Смерть вождя" или "Патриота"), а сама студия распалась окончательно, поскольку неудачная новинка собрала еще меньше, чем предыдущий проект.
При этом похоже, что "Велиан" то ли разрабатывалась в жуткой спешке, то ли обладала крайне скудным бюджетом. Половина ее уровней состоит из одинаковых ассетов-декораций, которые встречаются буквально на каждом шагу (на разных картах и вовсе можно найти практически идентичные комнаты). Типов врагов здесь слишком мало даже для шутера класса "Б" (поэтому авторам пришлось забивать локации толпами клонов, превращать боссов в рядовых противников, а ближе к концу и вовсе запихивать их - одинаковых! - по несколько штук в одну комнату). AI супостатов настолько непроработан, что они в прямом смысле умеют лишь подбегать к главгерою и стрелять (причем так делают даже снайперы, которым логичнее было бы прятаться за укрытиями или спасаться бегством). К тому же, вся игра держится на скриптах: пошли по коридору - с той стороны выбежали противники; стоите на месте - время вокруг попросту замирает (даже если вы заглядываете в комнату с врагами, пока не зайдете, атаковать они не начнут). Продвижение по уровню тоже строго предопределено: дошли до сюжетной точки Б, получили новое задание - где-то на уровне сама собой открылась дверь (цепочка из заспаунившихся на уже изученных участках карты противников укажет верное направление).
Контролем качества левел-дизайна явно никто не занимался, ибо он всю игру скачет от примитивных, прямых как палка коридоров до избыточно запутанных лабиринтов с одинаковыми стенами и кучей бесполезных комнат (которые так и просят, чтобы вы бросили "Велиан" задолго до финала). Вычиткой текстов также никто не занимался, поэтому во время загрузок игрок может развлечься поиском громотическех ашыбак в безграмотных описаниях противников.
Но что показательнее всего - в релизной версии проекта вообще нет музыки (кроме одинокого трека, играющего в меню), а звуки для него были позаимствованы из бесплатных библиотек (так что противники женского пола здесь охают мужскими голосами и рычат как орки). До сих пор непонятно, что стало причиной этого удивительного факапа - экономия, спешка или бездарный менеджмент процесса разработки - но, как вы уже догадались, именно в таком "коробочном" виде Operation: Matriarchy по сей день продается в Steam.
Парадокс, но первые пару часов "Велиан" даже может увлечь непритязательного игрока, ибо "Легкий" уровень сложности здесь оказывается действительно легким: враги гибнут с пары выстрелов, рядом с каждым скоплением недругов непременно стоит хотя бы одна взрывчатая бочка, аптечки и патроны разбросаны по картам в конских дозах, а заблудиться на них практически негде из-за прямолинейности коридоров (заодно, если что-то пошло не так, всегда можно забежать в соседнюю комнату и по одному расстрелять глупых противников в дверном проеме). На третьем часу сильных врагов становится в разы больше, аптечек - заметно меньше, при этом действие переносится в огромные пустые залы; выживать в таких условиях приходится благодаря регулярному абьюзу функции save/ load. На четвертом-пятом часу локации становятся просто огромными, но такими же пустыми - теперь герою необходимо пешком преодолевать бессмысленно большие расстояния, при этом расстреливая отряды врагов, которые недавно представлялись игрой в качестве боссов.
Главным аттрактором "Велиана" на момент релиза должна была стать обласканная в пресс-релизах топовая графика - на деле же она уступала как вышедшим на год раньше Half-Life 2, Far Cry и Doom 3, так и более старым релизам вроде Unreal II: The Awakening. С освещением здесь - полный провал (оно "работает" до тех пор, пока вы или противник не начнете стрелять, после чего все тени исчезают, а комнату заливает белым). Со световыми эффектами - тоже (враги стреляют разноцветными лучами, исходящими из световых шаров, которые закрывают треть модельки в момент выстрела; это выглядело нелепо даже 15 лет назад). После смерти противники принимают не менее смешные позы, чем солдаты из "Метро-2" (и буквой "Г", и враскоряку, и кверху задом - настоящее буйство рэгдолльной физики!). При этом оптимизация настолько ужасна, что при выставлении максимальных настроек проект из 2005 г. подтормаживает на компьютерах конца 2010-х гг.(похоже, в таком виде авторы запускали его лишь для съемки рекламных скриншотов), а загрузки длятся по сто лет даже при минимальных настройках.
Второй главной фишкой "Велиана" должны были стать локации в мире инопланетных мутировавших женщин, выполненные в стилистике Г. Гигера (одного из отцов киновселенной "Чужой"). И да, они здесь есть - два терпимых уровня в середине и череда жутко утомительных лабиринтов с дико фрустрирующим платформингом в финале (на которые лучше глянуть в YouTube). Все остальное время главгерой бегает по совершенно шаблонным "космическим кораблям", "космическим станциям" и "заводам" с одинаковыми мониторами, ящиками и стульями.
Поблагодарить авторов можно разве что за радар, подсказывающий число врагов поблизости и направление до следующей контрольной точки (возможности включить карту в игре нет вовсе), за автоподсветку патронов да аптечек (которые иначе сливались бы с пестрым контрастным окружением) - ну, и еще за тщательную работу над модельками дверей (их типов здесь чуть ли не больше, чем типов врагов). На деталях вроде расставленных по уровням экзоскелетов, в которые можно сесть перед битвой с бронированными противниками (ради повышения защиты при снижении скорости) или возможности выбора между "человеческим" и "инопланетным" вооружением (обмен происходит путем сброса ненужной пушки на букву "G", ибо у героя есть всего 5 слотов для таскания оружия) останавливаться не будем вовсе - с их помощью проект можно было рекламировать в игровых журналах, однако геймплейное однообразие они никак не скрашивают.
Вердикт: ужасно слабый отечественный шутер, подобный которому сегодня любой желающий может собрать на движке FPSCreator. Впрочем, за неимением на Steam легендарно плохой Kreed, у него появляется неожиданная ценность: "Велиан" можно без иронии рекомендовать начинающим авторам в качестве наглядного примера того, какими шутеры быть не должны.
P.S.: И да, в мире находились люди, которые хотели улучшить даже настолько безнадежную игру - например, в 2009 г. немецкий моддер под ником "*AHO" выпустил Operation: Matriarchy Enhancement Addon, делавший ее текстуры более объемными, а в 2012 г. композитор под ником wkduffy написал для нее собственный неофициальный саундрек в стиле sci-fi фильмов класса "Б" (параллельно признавая в readme-файле, что затея эта просто безумна, ибо большинство игроков считают "Велиан", цитата, "куском г*вн*"). Однако даже такие улучшения не могут исправить общего качества проекта: неторопливый расстрел одинаковых толп совершенно безмозглых врагов что в крохотных комнатушках, что в вытянутых коридорах, что в извилистых лабиринтах, что в гигантских пустых залах веселее с их установкой не становится.

На первый взгляд типичный проходняк, но постепенно игра раскрывается с неожиданной стороны и становится интересным аналогом серьезного сэма. Большое разнообразие оружия, красочные атмосферные локации, довольно приятная стрельба, все это можно назвать причиной попробовать эту игру (но брать, конечно, по скидке)

Всем добрейшего вечерочка мои дорогие друзья, с вами Берникс и это обзор на русский шутер, который называется "Операция: Матриархат", или в другом переводе Велиан(не путать мультик с Голубями Пернатым спецназом).
Когда то у меня был диск с этой игрой, я незнал как он у меня оказался, или диск был не мой, вообщем я пытался его запустить на своём тогдашнем железе, но игра просто не работала у меня по каким то непонятным причинам и я был расстроен. Я хотел узнать что это за девушка на обложке диска была .
И спустя много лет, я решил эту игру попробовать найти и как же я удивился, когда узнал что такая игра и взаправду есть). Правда почему то название у неё было другим и на английском, ну тут наверное дело в переводе. Тем не менее игру я купил и начал проходить.
Сюжет рассказывает о человеке, который борется с инопланетными созданиями именуемыми Велианками, а дальше спойлеры, поэтому советую вам сыграть в такой шедевр . MADия и Бука вложили на эту игру много сил. По графике игра очень похожа на Doom 3, я вам больше скажу в игре есть пасхалки, но они весьма незаметны.
1 пасхалка это звуки открывания дверей, а всё дело в том что видно разрабы у Халф Лайфа подглядели, как надо озвучивать открытие дверей), это очень приятно. А 2 пасхалка заключалась в звуках издаваемых противников . Дело в том что у велианцев есть такой класс бойцов как ниндзи и когда вы им причиняете боль они мычат. Так вот, эти мычания принадлежат самому Анарки из 3 Квейка, потому что при выстреле в него, он издавал в точности такие же стоны, как и ниндзи из этой игры .
Насчёт музыки, то она есть только в главном меню, в самой игре её нет, но хотелось бы на самом деле, особенно если бы мой ГГ с кем нибудь сражался. Но я готов простить эту игру за это, я же любитель стрелялок всё таки). Моя оценочка этой игре 10 монстров топтунов из 10.

Что то среднее между Doom 3 и Half Life. Любителям данных рекомендую к покупке, игра стоит своих хотя брал по скидке. Прошел игру с огромным удовольствием. Нашел 2 минуса 1) Нафиг не нужный ПНВ (фонарика в игре нет) в игре. 2) Коряво настроен джетпак на боевом скафандре.

Когда я брал Old School Shooter Pack, предчувствовал, что [strike]я дурак[/strike] все игры будут так себе, кроме этой. От этой я ожидал чего-то низкобюджетного, но самобытного и по-своему интересного (для копателей донных глубин шутеров в стиме). Но нет: такая же мура. К моему большому сожалению. Ибо могла быть интересная игра. Но изгадили всё, что только можно. Нет звука собственных шагов, нет звука появления и подхода врагов. Звук оружия — унылые пуки. И это я только про звук поговорил, а ведь игра много из чего состоит. Сюжет подаётся в основном текстами на загрузке. Уровни — невнятные коридоры. Отстрел — вывалят кучу из воздуха, они все толпятся, бегают, спотыкаются друг об друга, больно смотреть.
Из плюсов: интересная эстетика, о чём я упоминал в начале. Что-то есть в этих уродцах, в криокапсулах. Ассоциации со Scorn, с «Чужим». Жаль, визуальный потенциал потонул в горе каловидного ВСЕГО. Вынужден поставить «палец вниз».

Безнадежно сломанный бессмысленный и пустой кусок отвратительного кошмара. Бука решила откровенно посмеяться в лицо людям, выпустив это в Steam (да ещё и с КАРТОЧКАМИ, Карл!).
Перед нами каноничный пример возведённой в абсолют лени разработчиков. Этим людям вообще хотелось делать игру? Враги не имеют звуков шагов и появления ([i]что сначала меня даже напугало[/i]), звук перезарядки у всех ружей одинаков, да и само оружие ощущается так, что как-будто оно стреляет воздухом.
ИИ просто бежит к игроку напролом, никакой тактики отстрела кроме взрывов раскиданных по всем уровням бочек нет. Сюжет в тексте между загрузками уровней, Википедия говорит, что отсутствие в игре музыки связано с поломанными файлами на релизе игры.
Когда я взял это чудо за 10 рублей по скидке, я был готов, что будет плохо, но не думал, что настолько. Меня заинтересовал безумный дизайн врагов на скриншотах, и я был готов ко всему, но получил я просто недоделанные помои вместо игры.
Единственный луч света в этом ужасе - текстуры последних уровней в стиле великоуважаемого Гигера. Человек, что делал их, где ты сейчас? Как ты туда попал? За что тебя заставили делать их для этой игры? Это единственное, что мне теперь хочется знать.

в общем, игра очень понравилось, это было интересное приключение, очень понравилось как реализована стилистика в пластилине, звуковое сопровождение просто на высоте, прям конкретно от игры был в высочайшем восторге, можно отметить несколько минусов, таких как при долгой игре начинаются какие то подтормаживания, будто игра не выгружает из оперативной памяти данные и просто комп не справляется с нагрузкой, малость затянутый эндшпиль, после того как я прошёл игру мне стало понятно почему в отзывах все жалуются на концовку, но на самом деле вышло довольно сносно, очень хотелось бы увидеть в данной стилистике, возможно даже в данном мире роглайк в стиле айзека или ETG, вообще я очень предвзят к пластилину, поэтому готов поддержать любой пластилиновый проект, вобщем хочу сказать разработчику спасибо за этот чудесный опыт и пожелать НЕ забрасывать вселенную, потому что она вышла (на мой взгляд) просто восхитительной, игру советую брать, как минимум по скидке просто обязательно
Ознакомиться с "Велиан" в рамках исследования отечественных трэш-шутеров двухтысячных годов было интересно, но не то чтобы приятно.
Хотя графическая составляющая сильно не режет глаз, остальные аспекты выполнены на довольно низком уровне.
В игре имеется только три с половиной катсцены, причем говорят персонажи только в одной, не открывая ртов. Весь сюжет, если его можно так назвать, подаётся между уровнями в виде текста, но прочитать его не всегда получается.
Ситуация с саунд-дизайном более странная. Звук перезарядки не совпадает с её анимацией (для некоторого оружия её даже не сделали), а музыки нет, за исключением трека в главном меню. Все, что можно слышать на уровнях – отвратные звуки оружия, значительная часть которого вообще бесполезна, непонятный скрежет и крики противников.
Последние лишены искусственного интеллекта и просто двигаются к игроку, стреляя и периодически застревая.
На фоне этого как-то трудно удивляться тому, что протагонист ходит по поверхности космической станции без всяких приспособлений. Любопытно, что на экране задач можно увидеть его комментарии в виде какого-то подобия шуток.
Отдельного упоминания заслуживает эпическая (нет) битва с финальным боссом. Для победы нужно всего лишь несколько секунд удерживать нажатой левую кнопку мыши.
Найти какие-то плюсы сложно. Положительно можно выделить оформленные в стиле Гигера локации, хотя они и представлены лабиринтами и коридорами. Дизайн противников тоже создавался под влиянием известного художника. Даже сейчас подобное выглядит интересно.
Вряд ли "Велиан" можно кому-то рекомендовать. Только если вы не собираете отечественный трэш.

Trailerを観たとき、おそらくあなたは本作をクソゲーだと思ったことだろう。そして最初のステージをクリアしたとき、あなたは本作が間違いなくクソゲーだと確信するだろう。だが、待ってほしい！
本作は銃をバリバリ撃ちながら敵を倒しつつ、カードキーやスイッチを探して先へ進むステージクリア型のアクションシューターで、言うなれば正統派DOOMクローンとでも言うべきオールドスクールFPSなのだ。まったくDOS時代のFPSをプレイしている錯覚に陥る本作は、近年の「自称オールドスクール」とは一線を画する古臭さを放っている…これは褒め言葉だよ！
武器の種類はそれなりに多く、サブマシンガンやアサルトライフルはもとよりロケットランチャーやスナイパーライフル、ミニガン、プラズマガン、火炎放射器、さらにはエイリアン製武器複数種といったように一通り揃っている。ステージによってはパワードスーツが配置されており、重火器の一斉掃射で敵を薙ぎ倒すのは爽快だ。
とにかく序盤の出来が良くないため、本作がアクションシューターであることすら気づく前に「出来が悪くキモいクソゲー」と投げ出してしまう可能性は果てしなく高いのだが、それは勿体ないことだ。
BGMがタイトル画面にしか用意されていないとか、敵が一切足音を立てないとか、特に攻撃を喰らっているわけではないのに主人公のダメージボイスが鳴るとか、そもそも鳴っているのが何の効果音なのかわからないとか、基本的な部分でいろいろマズイことをやらかしているのは確かなのだが、ロシアゲーなのにハマリやフリーズが無い点はおおいに評価したい。
敵のデザインも相当好みを選ぶのだが、大部分を占める女性型エイリアンのフェティッシュな造詣は素晴らしいと言わざるを得ない。というわけで、女性型エイリアンが好きな人はマストバイ。
＊いちおう解像度はワイド画面に対応してますが、HUDが4:3用にしか作られていないためアイコンの上下が半分見切れてゲームになりません。大人しく4:3の解像度でプレイしましょう。

The ONLY reason i "recommend" this is the later half of the game, which features a lot of biomechanical sprawling levels of MULTIPLE different designs. But don't get too excited, it is still a severelly underbudget eastern european FPS. Though, its weakest point is unexpectadly the sound. There is no music outside of the menu, everything is poorly mixed and the ambient is repetitive and terrible. Enemies aare usually silent and all shots are pathetic.
If games weren't such complex and closed system someone sould've take everything what is present here and rebalance it, add missing parts and fix minor problems to have a complete game on par with Prey or Half-Life.
The game is of the type where you have to endure the onslaught of mindless enemies, and the level structure of realistyc type, instead of set-piece type, so expect to see a ton of repetitive same rooms in the first half of the game. There are no sawtooths and the objectives have you run back and forth across the levels, so you have to check your goals regularly, instead of rushing the linear path like in modern "games".
The enemy design is clearly inspired by the works of H.R. Giger and looks great, but your arsenal is pretty generic and boring. You can pick up some alien weapons, but most of them are pretty useless.
Technically the game works in widescreen, but it uses pan&scan, so you'd better to set it in the nearest 4:3 legacy mode. Also you can't change FOV and the default one is below 150, which is really noticable. Your character moves slowly and awkvardly but you can use rhythm-jumping.

Но!.. Есть огромная разница! Приблизьте лицо к монитору. Чувствуете? Чуете запах старого засохшего дерьмеца? С этими едва уловимыми нотками анального кровотечения? Это старый добный игропром 2000-х, запомните этот запах!
А слышите эти звуки? Такой мерзкий писк? Если зайти в игру, то он появится через несколько уровней. Вы сразу услышите его, потому что вне меню в игре нет музыки. В этой игре абсолютно отвратительное звуковое сопровождение...
В этой игре отвратительные анимации, дизайн уровней, сценарий, AI, - в этой игре ужасно и отвратительно АБСОЛЮТНО ВСЁ!!! Это не создано для того, чтобы нормальный игрок получал удовольствие! Это сделано лишь с одной целью - вызвать у вас самопроизвольно завязывание кишечника в узел!
Я говорю это с полной серьёзностью и... я купил, прошёл её... Полностью... Потом собрал значок, который является дикой халтурой (оранжевый гружок)... И я не жалею, потому что вся эта дичь носит очень простое название. Ностальгия.
Подобные игры запретили ещё в 49-м на Женевской конвенции. Покупаете на свой страх и риск, запуск для некрещёных строго запрещён. Смерть грядёт!
Ugh! Don't bother. Even though I spent less than half an hour on this I seriously doubt I'll go back for more. Would have been a good deal at .99 but at 6 bucks leave it alone. Seems like a good story at first but poorly done, mindless enemies, bare minimum controls. Much better available for less coin. Could not play at 2K res because all the info was off the screen. Dialed back the res and it didn't fill the screen. Did not have any problems with running the game, 965, 16 GB ram, 1070, 7200 HDD. No glitches encountered.

My, some of the other reviewers are harsh on this game. It's a budget FPS from 2005. Indubitably flawed, but fast-paced fun if you know the kind of thing to expect.
Let's tacke the major technical problems first. The sound is bare-bones and most of the music is broken. Fortunately, there have been patches to fix this for nearly a decade. Now, look at the trailer. It is in 4:3. Look at all the screenshots. They are in 4:3. One might expect based on this this (and I'm going out on a limb here),a game that plays in 4:3! Playing the game in most widescreen resolutions results in a diminished field of view, cutting off the HUD. There is, however, at least one widescreen resolution that it runs fine, with no loss of field (see the discussions for the exact one).
The AI is pretty dumb, no getting around that. It can be hard to spot objectives on the screen. Fortunately, they're marked on your radar, so you aren't likely to get stuck for long. Gameplay is pretty linear, with some decent-sized but not that big levels for you to explore.
Gameplay is frenetic. Simplistic, to be sure. There are large numbers of enemies in relatively tight spaces, every one of whom seems to have shotgunend two Red Bulls just prior to engaging you. So be prepared for some bustling firefights. The game may, as someone in the forum proposed, be running faster than intended. The challenge is reasonable enough, however, that it's still playable. The key to going far in "Operation Matriarchy" (at least the half dozen or so levels I've played thus far) is to NOT CONSERVE AMMO. There's heaps of it lyng around, and generous helpings of health and armour.
There isn't that detailed of a story. I've read that the manual and the other games set in this universe tell a larger and more interesting story, but only the basics make it into the game. Voice acting and writing are cheesy and not memorable (hardly a surprise), though one of the patches improves that. Graphics are all right for a budget Doom 3-era shooter. Some enemy designs are creative. It starts out with spider-legged robots and "wow-Kurt-from-MDK-got-bosomy" cyborgs, but soon enough you start seeing more organic looking and progressvely odd life forms. The setting also takes a turn to the weird as you eventually leave the generic metal spaceship and travel to more alien landscaped. Nothing groundbreaking, but pretty nice for 2005.
Many of the enemies are female, with some dressed . . . sexily? I'm not going to analyze whether this game is sexist or not. Certainly less fetishistic than, say, Gynophobia.
Do you like the rapid, fairly mindless gameplay of lower-tier FPS games from days past, with enemies chump but plentiful? Then maybe you'll like this. I did, since I wasn't expecting anything great. Operation Matriarchy is just strange and different-feeling enough to make it worth a casual playthrough, particularly for those who want something that feels hyper and challenging but probably won't frustrate most FPS afficionados (as long as you rely on the radar). But I do urge you to wait till it's on sale. Think of it as finding a budget title n the clearance bin at Electronics Boutique.

Operation: Matriarchy - достаточно интересный, но неоднозначный продукт.
Из безусловных плюсов стоит отметить:
Во-первых: реально интересный, почти гениальный концепт расы биокиборгов, которые в качестве "сырья" для создания солдат используют только женщин.
Во-вторых: проекту безусловно пошло на пользу то что в команде разработчиков были люди, которые за него дейтсвительно переживали. Это очень заметно по тому что пишут на экранах загрузки и как оригинально, и по-своему тщательно прорисованы враги.
В-третьих: это один из немногих проектов (кроме этого - Metroid и Alien), стиль которого создавался безусловно под впечатлением от стиля "Биомеханики", и работ Ханса «Рюди» Гигера в частности.
В минусы же приходится записать все остальное.
- графон не блещет, проблемы с движком, который не может в формат экрана отличный от 4:3;
- звукового сопровождения сильно не хватает;
- косячный геймдизайн, главная проблема которого заключается в примитивном AI, из-за которого боты со всего уровня практически в первые же секунды после загрузки уровня сбегаются к вам. При этом у вас в руках оружие "под реализм", т.е. которое нужно перезаряжать каждые 5-10 секунд. К оружию, требуюшего ежесекундной перезарядки и толпам тупых врагов прибавьте ОЧЕНЬ узкие коридоры - и поймете почему я не смог в это играть.
Итог: рекомендую этот проект только как эдакий древний экспонат достижений игрового хозяйства. Как игра он очень слабо играбелен, и врят ли сможет доставить удовольствие любителю шутеров.
