misleading title, you're punching left and right, but it's as much fun as it is simple. not easy though and there's a surprising amount of variety still. some ♥♥♥♥ off mechanics too but when you get into a flow, it can be really satisfying. I hate rhythm (and flash) games and not even sure what made me try this but I'm glad I did.

Waves of different enemies approach you. Time your attacks in the correct order to decimate your foes.
Weapons and usable items will drop, and you unlock skills to vary gameplay to your liking.
The better you fight, the faster the game becomes. This means the difficulty adjusts to your skill, creating a fluid and dynamic experience.

There are only two buttons to press: attacking left or right.
The biggest downside is that there is no way to rebind the attack keys in-game. You either use your mouse with left and right click, or your gamepad with X and B. That’s a bummer.
However, rebinding your gamepad is something Steam allows, so you can change the controls to LB and RB. For me, that feels more intuitive. Thank you, Valve.

The game’s visuals feel out of place and thrown together. I’d guess higher contrast with less clutter and a cleaner look would have fit this game better. But ultimately, it’s not about visuals.
The music can be a bit repetitive, but the sounds are fitting and underline the gameplay well.

There is a reason this game has so many positive upvotes. Easy to learn, hard to master, and rewarding gameplay.
Currently on sale for less than 2 Euros, which is a steal. At 5 Euros, its default price, it’s still very fair.

After not thinking of this game for a decade, I saw a 3 second clip of it in a random youtube video and suddenly got an urge to play it again. And it's just as good as ten years ago (as I assume how fun it was ten years ago, as I have zero recollection of earning all those achievements), just pure visceral fun distilled to simplest form

I honestly found this game by mistake since I was searching through steam for new games and filtering for rhythm games specifically but I absolutely don't regret stumbling upon this game, even though it's clearly not a rhythm game.

This game is just so metal for some reason, it has "hell yeah" vibes all over it. The game itself is easy and simple to understand but definitely a challenge to master.

As you progress through the game, you can really feel yourself getting better at it and so it's very satisfying to just keep playing and see how much you improve. Especially when retrying earlier stages later on and wondering "how did I find this difficult before?".

Considering that this game is not even that expensive, you should definitely give it a try if you want a more simple game without having to worry about juggling a ton of mechanics at once.

Pros: Flow state off the charts. There's so much challenge in this game, it's nearly infinitely replayable. The soundtrack is bumpin' and when I want a simple, execution focused game, this is one of the best.

Cons: When you're really grinding, some of the random slowdowns can get really infuriating. I'm sure about 70% of my misses are because the game slowed down just before an enemy entered my threat range and I prematurely pressed the button.

左右から迫りくる敵をマウスクリックで撃退するお手軽ゲーム。
演出や効果音はビシバシとキマっており爽快感がある。パーフェクトを狙うと結構な手ごたえも。

スローになったり武器を拾ったりと単調にならない工夫がされているが、一方でそれがリズムを乱して理不尽に感じることも。リトライはすぐなのでサクッとやり直せるのは良い。マップ画面の視認性・一覧性はちょっと気になる。

とにかくお値段がワンコインと安い。セール時はさらにお安く。
いくつかあるかわからんくらいがステージ数があり、高難度までのコンプを狙うとおそらくかなりのボリュームになる。ほぼ無限プチプチ潰しみたいな感じで遊ぶと◎。

I haven't exactly 'finished' the game yet, but I've played enough to know it's well worth the measly 5 bucks the devs are asking for. There's a total of three campaigns, though they're all the same when it comes to levels. However, they progressively get more difficult (the enemeis get faster, they take more hits, so on). I'd say even if you only bother going through the first one, it's still worth the price. Though, if you fancy yourself a completionist, maybe think twice - the achievements are absolutely ridiculous (7000 kills in survival mode... SERIOUSLY???)! But if you're a masochist like me, I think you'll find getting a platinum medal in every level quite the thrill... even if it'll take the rest of your life to get there lol

Ridiculously simple, and at least as satisfying. I was harsh on the sequel, but only because I had to compare it to [i]this[/i]. I can't think of any other game that makes getting in The Zone and just Doing The Thing as simple, nor as much fun. Cartoonish hyperviolence isn't usually my thing, the slightly orientalist theming would normally be a little bit of a turnoff, my wrist doesn't want me playing this for too long, and some of whatever instincts I've picked up from here seem to have irreversibly damaged my ability to play rhythm games, but the game is just so [i]good[/i] I can't bring myself to care about any of that, and I [i]will[/i] be putting a lot more hours into it.

Also music's great. Could do without the thunderstorm rounds tho.

Ever since the accident, i was left with 1 finger on both of my hands; the index finger. I knew since then, i would never be able to game the way i used to. As i was scrolling through my steam library the game called out to me.. "One Finger Death Punch" as i stared at the title of this game, i was given hope. Could this be the game i was destined to play?

São poucos os jogos de ação que são focados no teste visceral de reflexo quando excluímos jogos de ritmo da equação. Esse jogo é, em sua essência, isso: um teste absurdo do quão longe você consegue ir com seus reflexos. Esse jogo também dá uma aula de game design, exemplificando como é ir ao limite de uma esquema de controle tão simples como apenas esquerda e direita. A estética dos clássicos stickman dos anos 2000 também dá bastante personalidade pro jogo, se você gostava.

Esse jogo só tem dois lados negativos. O primeiro ponto é que muitas das mecânicas não são explicadas, então você precisa aprender a partir de tentativa e erro - isso inclui a UI do jogo, que é bem confusa no começo. Além das mecânicas não explicadas, muitas também estão fora do nosso controle, sendo executadas de forma aleatória. O segundo ponto negativo são os achievements de mastery, porque precisa de MUITO grind pra conseguir. Se fosse 10k de mastery, até que seria algo sustentável, mas 20k é muito.

Fast paced kung-fu fighting game, that is controlled only by two buttons (left and right mouse button).
Music is catchy (Two Steps from Hell, etc.). Graphics look good. There is big amount of levels and several modes. But after some time it gets repetitive and thus a bit boring.

Overall, unique and challenging game.
I recommend it.

There's something brilliant in this that's hard to articulate. I dislike everything about it...but it's so much fun. I don't like stick figure games, I don't like vintage Mortal Kombat aesthetics, I don't like reflex-based combat, I don't like watered-down fighting games...but! But I'll be damned if the devs didn't understand exactly what they were doing here. It all just works too well and I can't imagine anyone having a bad time.

this game holds up great, there is very little i would actually improve. maybe make it more obvious when your abilities are going to trigger (show at your model). its also not even that easy to figure out stuff to add. great simple but still interesting action game, requiring only two inputs.

Super Spiel für zwischendurch, auch der 2ten Teil der Serie finde ich gut, und die Powerups was man freischalten kann, sorgen für einen gewissen Wiederspielwert ! Außerdem gibts für Trophy Jäger auch genug zu tun mit weit über 100 Trophys was es zu holen gibt! Viel mehr als das ein genaues drücken, und kein Button smashing keine Taktik für das Spiel ist, auch wenn es vlt. für manche so aussehen mag? Für die paar Euro eine klare Kauf Empfehlung.

I was really enjoying this slick beat-em-up as a palate cleanser, but eventually found that even a single stage felt too repetitive. I took a lengthy break, but bounced off it hard when I finally gave it another shot.

It's clever, controls well, and offers a satisfying sense of progression. It's just no longer fun for me.

Quick Description:
-One Finger Death Punch is an arcade style semi-beat em up that packs quite a punch! It reminds me of the games that I used to play at the arcade close to 30 years ago in all the best ways. It's very simple to learn as you only push the left and right mouse. There is a learning curve as there is a lot of flashing stimuli on screen. It's always tough to review a game that came out 11 years ago and has a sequel that improves upon the proven formula in almost every way.

Consensus:
-Middle of the Road Game (Tier 4 and makes up 25% of my reviews). This game is $5 at full price and is on sale for less than $2 all the time. This is a very easy game to recommend for those looking to turn their brain off for a bit and have some fun. This game is best played in small bursts, although there is a good amount of content for those seeking more. The sequel is better, but at this price point, you might as well pick up both if you have any interest in high speed, arcade style stick-man fighting games.
