this game is majestic, by far one of the most beautifully artistic games i have ever played.
the game is very playable despite its locked 30 fps
its a slog to get through tho ngl due to no skipping unnecessary cutscenes or dialogue but the art is worth playing the game for

Okami is an all around great game that has aged very well. I played this when it originally came out and it was fun the second time around. Unique experience with the closest series being Zelda. Give it a try.

Okami is a PS2 era classic that shines through its incredible art style, vibrant characters, and delightful depictions of classic Japanese folklore. The combat can feel a bit repetitive at times, and some of the tasks for completion can be tedious, but minor nitpicks such as those shouldn't dissuade anyone from trying one of the most unique and creative adventure games of all time. Performance on my PC was exceptional on maximum specs at 1080p with the exception of one boss battle midway through the game.

El juego no lo conocia de nada la verdad, no sabia que era un juego de PS2 hasta que lo compre y me fije con algo de info. En esa epoca jugaba puros juegos muy comunes y conocidos como God of war, GTA, los Mortal Kombat.

Sinceramente crei que iba a terminar siendo un juego peruca y simple como los Crash Bandicoot que jugaba en ese entonces o los juegos de peliculas como madagascar. Tremendo error, me encontre tremenda joya.

El juego tiene un cierta progresión, en vida, habilidades de combate y un par de cosas más. Ademas de tener muchas misiones secundarias piolas y una historia muy hermosa con muchos jefes que batar.

La unica queja que tendria es que se nota que mi cerebro frito por tiktok no se banca la excesiva cantidad de dialogos que tiene el mogo de Issun los cuales no se pueden skipear tan rapido.

I like this game, I played this game for a first time a long time ago, I have a lot of nostalgia tied to this game because of this, I still to this day think that this is a game that people could enjoy experiencing if its the type of game that they do enjoy.

[b]A story of an unlikely, yet destined hero. [/b]

I would recommend Okami if you like a nice story game (35-60h depending on your pace & completionism tendencies), can deal with the port being 30 fps, and don't mind a the linearity and handholding in the beginning in parts and if you can appreciate the unique art style, storytelling with fun character personality specific dialogues and really impressionable characters.

[h3] Note before purchasing: [/h3]

Above is my general consensus on weather I recommend the game or not, below I go into detail about why or why not this game may or may not be for you & general tips for fist timers.

[*] [b]The button to skip a cutscene on keyboard is F1, you welcome. [/b]

[*] [b]30 fps lock[/b] (old game programming limitation, except in the menu for some reason).

[*] [b]Games graphical settings are tied to save-file[/b], so if you check the settings & change them before starting a game and before creating a save-file, and relaunch the game, you will just loose the changes. [b]Start the game save and change settings afterwards[/b].

[*] As soon as you launch the game, it will throw you into a skippable cutscene before the menu. You will get this exact same cutscene UNSKIPPABLE (at least it used to be) when you actually start the game. [b]Do yourself a favor, skip the first cutscene before the menu at the very start of the game. [/b]

[*] [b]There is no way to change audio sources within the game.[/b] Depending on how complex your audio setup is (looking at you streamers) keep that in mind.
[/list]

Okami plays a lot like Zelda games, boss battles and gameplay is more "mechanics tied progression" than just "I go here and kick the a** of the boss or enemies with all my power".

The battles especially in later game are more like puzzles, enemies have gimmicks instead of just large HP pools, figuring out the gimmicks makes it a lot more fast and efficient to deal with the general enemies, and sometimes are the only way to defeat a boss.

You can find yourself in a situation in the game where you feel utterly stuck and don't know what to do next, only because you forgot about a mechanic that got introduced to you 20 hours ago. This is normal, you are not stupid.

The original game tends to have a weird mixture of extreme handholding, but yet suddenly you having to figure out a mechanic just from context clues. I think they did a better job with having more of a failsafe for this new release, but for people who want to figure it out on their own, it can be frustrating.

Finally a good port from capcom.

Not only is it as good as it is on the console it came out for, it does away with some weaknesses that were in the original, which is mostly that the controls could be wonky sometimes.

All around, strong recommend, this is a "must have played" imho, and this port works perfectly.

Beautiful and makes you feel awesome, yet very casual and comforting, not very demanding. PS2 classic in HD from the team which eventually turned into platinum games (Bayonetta, Nier Automata). At least one of my top 5 of the system. Best with a controller.

Port is not very impressive. Resolution does not want to default to the setting defined. Weird crash like freezes once in a while, but is stable otherwise. Good luck if your going 100% without a guide.

Good game. Performance not an issue, graphics and audio work fine, I used a controller to play through the whole game without any problems. I counted no more than 3 typos throughout the entire game.

Game doesn't require grinding exp/money but it's super helpful to do so at times, just so that you have enough resources and stronger weapons. I wish there were some QoL enhancements to make this game more playable but it's good as it currently is.

I don’t mind casual games, but this is more like a hostage situation with a tutorial box. Absolutely everything is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lecture. This is a handholding simulator for 8-year-olds

I often hear that people compare this game to the Legend of Zelda series, which is insane. Almost every Zelda game is fundamentally about player agency, experimentation, and exploration being at the forefront, but this is not. Sure, in Ocarina of Time, there's Navi, but she doesn't even come close to the level of annoyance that we see here.

This is definitely a game aimed at kids, but even so, having a huge arrow pointing in the direction of movement is still too much, even for a child. Even kids deserve dignity, you know.

I also dislike dogs.

C'est un jeu qui est difficile à aimer aujourd'hui, mais une fois qu'on l'a accepté : ça devient une vraie balade et le dernier arc narratif est si bien fait et agréable à parcourir que ça en valait la peine !

On est bien d'accord oui : Okami c'est vieux. La structure de jeu est daté et ça peut vraiment casser les pieds quand parfois ce qui peut être fait en 30min est réalisé dans les fait en 4 heures. Oui il y a des dialogues non accélerable alors que la vitesse de lecture est d'une leeeeennnnteuuuur légendaire.

En revanche, une fois qu'on y joue un p'tit peu de temps en temps (plus les sessions sont longues, plus il est facile de se dégouter du jeu), plus on apprécie la beauté et le parcours du monde. C'est trop beau et les musiques sont envoutantes. Le gameplay ne révolutionne rien en soit mais rien que l'existence du pinceau rend ce jeu unique !
Le temps s'arrête (et parfois non... je ne savais pas que ce jeu pouvais briser le 4e mur sans en faire des caisses) et on dessines des formes pour invoquer les pouvoir des dieux : contrôler le jeu, invoquer le vent, faire jaillir de l'eau, etc. Et toutes ses mécaniques atteignent la perfection dans l'arc final.
C'est simple, je crois que c'est l'une des meilleur utilisations de mécaniques j'ai vu dans un combat de boss, tout ce que tu as appris : tu l'utilises et tu en as absolument besoin ! Le final est génial pour tout un tas de raison (on finit même par apprécier "la petite fée à la Zelda", alors qu'il est détestable tout le long)

Enfin bref, c'est un oui ! Et c'est seulement à la fin du jeu que je peux le dire : Oui c'est un classique, oui il a un tempo de jeu à l'ancienne, très daté.
Mais bordel jouez à Okami ! Il est unique en son genre et il en vaut la peine !

(n'hésitez pas à utiliser Losseless Scaling sur Steam pour passer le jeu de 30fps à 60fps, vous me remercierez plus tard)

I have bought this game on PS2, Wii, PS4, Switch, and now on my PC. This game never gets old and I will continue to buy it for any system I own. Even at full price of $20, you're getting a lot out of this! If it ever goes on sale, its a steal and there's no reason why you shouldn't own it! Now is a great time to get back into it before the true sequel is released in the future. Excellent story, fun challenges, unique gameplay, and beautiful visuals! This game is a masterpiece! 1,000,000 out of 10!

Jeu de la nostalgie.
Un gameplay que l'on trouve nulle par ailleurs, une ost qui me fait bander, les blagues qui fonctionne pour ma part et une histoire qui reprends des mythes, légendes et comtes japonais pour en faire quelque chose de simple mais terriblement efficace.
les seuls défauts à notés sont :
la caméra qui dans les endroits clos ou en combats qui fait nimp et le début de l'histoire est lente (mais ce n'est pas tant un problème).
19/20 Allez y jouez c'est vraiment une pépite.

Ce jeu est incroyablement beau, le style graphique n'est certe pas réaliste cependant sont style semblable aux estampes japonaises fait tous son charme. Le tout est couronné par des musiques, une histoire et une atmosphère général absolument génial, ce qui en fait mon jeu préférer a cent pourcent.

This is a game I've been playing for many years, and have bought on so many seperate occasions. Because that's just how much I love the game. The pacing can vary a bit, some might find it a bit slow at times, but it's genuinly such a good story.
