A pleasant, fairly short stealth game saturated in an aesthetic that's part fluorescent synthwave, part gaudy 80s cinema carpets, and part brutalist architecture.
Mechanically it's pretty straightforward, but it does have some nice touches. There's often more than one way to approach at least some of the stages of a mission, and while it never goes as far down that road as a Deus Ex or a Dishonored (which would be an unreasonable ask for a solo developer or small team) it does have enough hints of that approach to make it feel like you have options. As a fun bonus, its hacking minigame is basically Breakout, which I something I don't see very often.
It does have plenty of flaws, but none of them are *bad* things so much as just under-developed things: the various consumable gadgets are mostly not super-useful; the prompt to knock out a guard doesn't always appear when it should and responds inconsistently; too many doors are labelled unhackable, begging the question of why they're there at all.
These flaws only slightly weaken the experience - they certainly don't ruin it. I enjoyed my time with Neon Struct and can comfortably recommend it to anyone who wants some indie stealth.
A wonderful cool night breeze of a game, masterfully mixing tense yet doable stealth sections with danger-free nightly wandering intermissions through malls, churches and many, many bathrooms. These make all that hiding in the shadows worthwhile. The guards aren't very clever, and I love that. Bad AI is my gaming lifeblood, I cherish every cheeseable [i]Dark Souls[/i] boss. Thank you for letting me off the hook.
[i]Neon Struct[/i] is like a distant half-sister of [i]Deus Ex[/i], without guns and goofy goatees. Instead your character Jill shows deep empathy for nearly everyone she meets while on the run.
Don't be fooled by the unassuming visuals. Every space in this [b]is[/b] mundane, but that is the point, and feels REAL, like a Megaten office sprawl.

A dark world, with mystery. Gameplay is exploration and (easy) puzzles. Very simple programming: a 3D world, but with graphics from the early 2000s.
Cons: Not very much there for the money, but I felt it was worth the price.
Pros: Didn't crash. Easy controls.
This indie hidden gem is actually scratching my itch for a Stealth/Immersive Sim that Dishonored and Deus Ex left me with. 100% recommend playing this if you like Dishonored and/or Deus Ex and are looking for something to try out.
Not a perfect game by any means, and definitely has some weak points, but enjoyable game thus far.

quite fun and dare I say immersive, given the fact that it... lacks textures.
It's a blend of Thief mechanics and Deus ex vibes
Cool game with an interesting story, although it can get rather slow when going for S ranks.
Wonderful game. The story is intriguing and does make you stop and think about your decisions. It has amazing inner-self perspectives about anxiety, guilt and so on.. The plot THICKENS! It does start of slow and somewhat boring but it only gets better by the mission. The gameplay is pretty minimalistic and THAT is basically the peak aspect of the game, because it is so unique. You can b-hop and do all sorts of movements to spice the fun up. The music and the atmosphere is great, I was screenshotting pretty much every location. It is just challenging enough on its own to make it a rememberable experience.
All that said I absolutely recommend the game to everyone and make sure to give it a chance past the intro, I promise it's worth it.
P.S. I finished it in one sitting, for 3 and a half hours I did not get up from my chair and I forgot about my surroundings. What game has made You experience that lately?

洋画でありそうな感じ、ストーリー後半になるとサイバーパンクみが強くなります。
英語が全く読めないと詰まるかもしれませんというか詰まります、ミッション条件や途中のヒントは訳しながらプレイするとよいと思います。
とはいえストーリーも楽しんでもらいたいです。

Jesteśmy agentem FBI i wykonujemy zadania dla agencji aż do momentu, w którym pracodawca postanawia nas zwolnić i zrujnować reputację, bo odkryliśmy, że nielegalnie wszczepia implanty śledzące "podejrzanym" osobom. Fabuła dzieje się w różnych miejscach m.in. w Hamburgu w Niemczech. Momentami gra przypomina Deus Ex (spiski, agencje rządowe, organizacje działające w cieniu) choć tu klimat jest jednak lżejszy a grafika bardziej minimalistyczna co też wpływa na jej odbiór.
Co do mechaniki gry to jest głównie oparta o skradanie. Możemy hackować wybrane kamery, skrzynki z zasobami, całe systemy ochrony. Zdobywamy przeróżne wskazówki, kody dostępu, karty, które możemy (nie musimy) użyć do otwarcia niektórych drzwi, uzyskania dostępu do komputerów itd. Możemy również ogłuszać "przeciwników" jest to jednak karane w ocenie danej misji, poziomu.
Tak, na końcu każdej misji, po wykonaniu wszystkich zadań na danej mapie otrzymujemy ocenę z podsumowaniem. Na ocenę ma wpływ m.in. czy zostaliśmy choć raz wykryci, czy kogoś ogłuszyliśmy itp. To teoretycznie zachęca do ponawiania prób w celu uzyskania lepszej oceny, ale przyznam, że dla mnie to słaba zachęta.
Całość składa się z około 10 poziomów, przejście całości (bez powtarzania misji) powinno zająć jakieś 7-9h.

Minimalist stealth game in a fictional surveillance state from the guy that did Eldritch, that Cthulhu stealth roguelite. The trees here are actually electronic! Gets compared to Deus Ex but it’s more because of the theme and in-between non-hostile zones. The game play is closer to Thief. You never get a weapon…mind the the light gage and knock out fools as required.

Easily worth what I paid for it on sale, I feel foolish for holding off buying the game for so long. If you manage to get through the dull intro mission and get your actual gear the game becomes a lot of fun if you enjoy sneaking around and finding info you're not supposed to find. After the second mission the story kicks into gear and though the premise isn't the smartest, being an agent on the run is great fun.
Well done! Hiding in shadows, knocking out guards, and doing side objectives in typical imm sim fashion is what you can expect. Plenty of non-linearity. Atmosphere and color palette are pleasing to sci-fi lovers. It’s quite minimalistic in both graphics and gameplay, which I love. The charm is there for those who can recognize it. I’m seeing a lot of people here complaining about the sound system, which is not unfounded if you are coming from a modern gaming background. It’s a direct throwback to the old Thief games, which had a nearly identical sound system. All of the gameplay took heavy influence from Thief, which instantly made this game A+ since I’m a huge fan. Story and atmosphere are Deus Ex-like, which is great. Being a big sci-fi fan and impartial to fantasy, I actually slightly prefer the aesthetic of Neon Struct over Thief. It would have been nice if the levels were larger, but keep in mind this game was developed mostly by one person. If you’re a fan of the classic Looking Glass games, pure stealth games, or immersive sims focusing on stealth, then Neon Struct is absolutely worth it.
Very well done stealth game. Can recommend it to anyone who craves for (original) Deus-Ex-like solo stealth game.

Imagine a Low-Poly version of the first Thief game, but with Cyberpunk like aesthetics and with more streamlined stealth system. However, don't go into this thinking you'll have mechanics that are up to par with Thief. It's bare-bones and it's quick.

i like it very much. good story, interesting gameplay (even though it is a little boring at times). great music, i reccomend you to check the guys who wrote it and support them. i like gamedesign, you're basically dissolving in it and these minecraft-like buildings become alive as you're getting more and more immersed. i wish this game had voice acting, a little more realistic style and more complex system of movement and stealth. solid 7/10.
Even though you may doubt it by its look, this game is actually brilliant. Yeah, it does look like it was made in a map editor from a bootleg minecraft-like game you find on google play. However, the gameplay is really fun and entertaining. The game has a lot of gameplay mechanics to offer, a variety of levels with some nice maps and a pretty decent story.
I admit that at some point the gameplay gets kinda repetitive. Just go somewhere, pick up something, or do this and that and try to stay silent while doing it (or not, it's completely your choice). But with the changing maps, different strategies you have to apply or think of yourself, and gradually increasing difficulty, I still found it really entertaining. There are also a handful of little side quests and things to encounter that brighten up your gameplay if you try to scoop around a bit and not only focus on the main part of the game.
An immersive sim on a budget:
If you got a thief or deus ex sized itch neon struct might be worth checking out as this might be the closest thing to that one canceled thief game that never was. Its a more traditional cyberpunk stealth game that wears its influences on its sleeve so don't expect stealth take downs or anything like that.
The good:
-Level design is small but solid, it feels like thief's levels on a budget which is fine
-Cyberpunk is a great setting for this type of game and im glad it feels more grounded and doesn't fall into the generic city in the clouds and aggressively (no pun intended) neon aesthetics of a lot of modern "cyberpunk".
-Its a budget imsim but an imsim nonetheless, you got lots of tools and environmental options in order to complete your objectives.
-I don't really get why the game is set in 2015 given the technology presented but the story is well told and feels topical if anything else.
-Doesn't overstay its welcome, solid 3-4 hours with replayibility and custom missions available.
-More games like Thief are always welcome
The bad:
-The AI seems to be a almost copy of the rather limited AI of the thief games, including that weird thing they do where they're searching for you but somehow are zeroing on your position despite not knowing where you are.
-I wish there were more gadgets, tools and environmental interactions.
-The game doesn't really do anything new per say, it feels like a game that has its influences and not much else.
-The brick breaker mini game can get a lil frustrating sometimes
-The art style while I grew to not mind it feels like the wrong choice, its very budget and intentionally so but it gives the game space a half finished feel that hurts the game. As it only can rely on its gameplay (which is thankfully very good) and not its visuals to carry it

Regarding the amount of hours I have logged here, I've played the game once before over on itch.io, and have begun a second playthrough in recent days (though my hours here on steam have mostly been used to try out some of the levels that people have made for the game).
Suffice it to say, NEON STRUCT is not thief, nor is it a thief-level stealth game. Yet what NEON STRUCT offers is something perhaps entirely original in the field of stealth games, in that it is a nigh-minimalist experiment in stripping a genre down to its core in pursuit of finding what exactly was enjoyable about said genre in the first place. As I see it, NEON STRUCT is to thief what Steven Soderbergh's film 'Haywire' was to the action genre, and that's not just because the stories of the two works are quite similar, but rather because they are both high-level and highly enjoyable exercises that excise everything unnecessary to their material of experimentation. Haywire was a mere 90 minutes; NEON STRUCT is a mere 90 mb. Having now tested the level-editor for a bit, the caliber of this project is more apparent than ever, as it was brought to my attention that there were only maybe 15-20 blocks with which the levels were constructed with - and even on my middling first playthrough, I still noted the game for level variety! It's brilliantly designed for what it is, a flash-in-the-pan of top-tier stealth that I am eagerly excited to mess with more in the future. I've liked all of Minor Key Games's first-person works to date and am duly excited for whatever they create next.
A pretty well-polished cyberpunk stealth game! The gameplay is solid - old-school stealth with a couple cyberpunk twists. (If you like Thief, you'll enjoy this, for sure.) I remember the plot being fun, if somewhat forgettable, but it's just fine for the time it takes to get through the game and I recall it being a good time. The music is also a lot better than one would expect for a stealth game - it's legitimately a pretty cool cyberpunk OST.
Overall, I would advise against going into this expecting the next Deus Ex or anything, but like... This game regularly goes on sale for sub-$5 USD. It is absolutely and 100% worth that, and then some. I'd confidently say this game is a solid, underrated retro stealth game with a cool aesthetic. If you're at all interested, I say go for it! It's been a couple years since I finished this game, and I still remember it fondly.
Fun game
Reasonably entertaining, if simplistic, stealth game. Beat it in a single session. My main beef is some of the level design could use clearer signposting on where things are. Due to the simple artstyle, there's no signs pointing to stairs or directories of rooms to find in the level themselves to get around. Other than that it was worth the couple of dollars I spent on it.
This game is fantastic. I would recommend it to people who don't mind some lengthy story building and exposition. If those are things you don't mind this is a quite fun game. Sneaking around to discover the secrets of the world around you is rather enjoyable and there are plenty of tense moments in the gameplay. I would definitely play this game again.

A fun sneak em up game with a good little story. The A.I could do with being a bit smarter- they don't react to lights being turned off or sometimes to noises you make but otherwise it's a great effort and very worthwhile playing.
Deus Ex, if it was developed by Wish. [b]REVIEW DONE[/b]. Ok, ok, there's more to it than that. I don't mean to imply by the Wish reference that Neon Struct is of poor quality, although at first glance one could be forgiven for coming to that conclusion. And it's not exactly ambitious. Nevertheless, Neon Struct: DÏË ÄÜGËN DËR WËLT is a game that tries to mesh the gameplay of the Thief series with the conspiratorial, cyberpunk trappings of the Deus Ex world, but with extremely minimalist graphics. You play the part of Jillian Cleary, an established megaspy who traverses the neon-tinged world doing espionage-y things. Sneaking into compounds. Sneaking out of compounds. Slinking in the shadows. Slinking out of the shadows. Averting the gaze of insolent security cameras. The usual, in other words. But ZOUNDS! One day Jillian starts asking the wrong questions and finds herself on the run from the very establishment she once did unethical stuff for. Along the way, she meets shadowy enemies, shadowy allies, charismatic techno-oligarchs, quirky underground resistance leaders, all of that stuff. Really, the plot is boilerplate sci-fi tropes and is not all that engaging. The gameplay is more promising.
Like Deus Ex, Neon Struct also has pigeons.
As mentioned, the stealth gameplay is Thief-derived, which is probably the best kind of stealth gameplay there is for my money. You have a number of goals to achieve and, in first person view, you sneak through the shadows - either dispatching or avoiding guards as you wish. Different-textured surfaces will produce different kinds of sounds, ranging from kitten-soft to industrial clanking. You have a number of gadgets at your disposal, from the humble distraction coin, to grenades that create a patch of darkness, interrupt electronics, consumables that make you invisible or silent, and so on. There is a trusty light meter which lets you know how shadow-immersed you are - but it's largely unnecessary, because the lighting environment gives you a good indication of where the dark areas are and where you can go to be hidden. Your ways of taking out lights and creating darkness are limited. If there is no switch to be found for a given light, your only option (if you need it) is to use an anti-light grenade, which will create a patch of darkness wherever it comes to rest. You can take out guards, but the game seems to take umbrage with this - you get a score at the end of the level and it docks you for knocking guards unconscious. It also seems to be unpredictable in what it counts for a body to be 'hidden.' I don't care about scores at the end of the level, but carrying bodies is monumentally slow. On another note, you can hack cameras, treasures, doors etc. by...playing breakout. That's it. You thought you had to have a library of programming scripts to be a hacking threat, but no, you just have to be really good at breakout! There's no alternative, either - you either have to be decent at breakout to hack things, or you find a way around it. The maps are ok, some of them are very interesting but they often lack alternate paths and unique points of interest. There's one map that takes notes from Thief 2's "Life of the Party", where you traverse some areas via rooftop - but it's really a bargain basement version and doesn't offer the thrills or interest that the original did.
The sound design is also minimalistic, which can be both a blessing and a curse. It's good in the sense that you always know what you're listening to - patrolling robots always sound like robots, footsteps on carpet sound like they should, and so on. However, there can also be a lot sound bleeding in from different sources. You'll always know if something is a human footstep, but you'll never quite be able to tell if it's coming from upstairs, from the room next door, or even outside. One thing that the game is good for is rewarding exploration: if you go out of your way to discover every nook and cranny of the map, you will usually have items and other treasure festooned upon you. As well there are 5 geocaches in (almost) every level, and finding them will grant you a free distraction coin. There are some wonky things as well - suspicious guards seem to zero in on your location, even if you're moving away silently in complete darkness. Ladders are extremely awkward to interact with, sometimes forcing you to jump when you reach the top - which is of course antithetical to the kind of catlike, restrained movements you want in a stealth game. Finally, cameras don't seem to care about unconscious bodies - they only seem to care about your presence. So if you're cloaked in the shadows, you can knock out a guard in full view of a camera and not raise an alarm.
The game isn't very challenging, but the levels - brief as they are - can still provide a decent amount of sneaky fun. Really, Neon Struct has all the ingredients needed, but it's stealth junk food. You can rip into a bag of its gameplay, but you still might end up famished for Thief or MGS.
A cute game with a Deus Ex style plot (i.e boringly cliched conspiracy nonsense) and it looks a bit like the first Deus Ex meets Minecraft, but the gameplay is more like the first two Thief games i.e stealth is the only option. If you miss FPS hardcore stealth games then this should make you happy, and the game encourages you to play it as sneakily as possible, rewarding you for not being seen etc. It doesn't have the sheer size of the first two Thief games or the satisfying stealing, and the AI is kinda awful, but you also don't have to deal with those games' annoying zombie and creature levels. If you're prepared to take the good with the bad, this is a lot more good than bad.

Decent game but I wont recommend. Foot steps sound are weird that passing though walls and floors. You cant rely on your ear but you cant rely on you eyes either. Leaning in this game is useless so you cant use your eyes

A first-person stealth game? Yes please. One with an invisibility meter and blends elements of Thief with Deus Ex? Bring it on.
This game seems to have flown under the radar, but it's a very worthy attempt. Ignore the blocky visuals, they don't in any way detract from the engrossing sneak-em-up gameplay. You walk quietly in the shadows, pickpocketing guards, turning out lights and hacking security cameras, uncovering a cyberpunk conspiracy, and even completing some small side missions in hub areas between missions. It was great fun.
The game has dialogue options when speaking to friendly characters, but has no spoken dialogue. This means that rather than relying on conversations between enemies and audio clues like that, the player has to make do with graphical awareness indicators that pop up over guards' heads when they are suspicious. To be honest, I thought these were silly in Dishonored, and I would prefer them not to be in this game as well. But then, you can't have everything. Neon Struct does, however, refrain from objective markers, which is great because the levels are well designed and it's possible to find clues that lead you to your destination, not to mention all the missions are ghostable. That's right, you don't have to take down a single opponent. That's a brave move from the developer and one which definitely brings Thief II vibes.
An enjoyable game, and one which should definitely be tried out by Deus Ex fans in particular - there are similarities with the story as well as the game mechanics. Not bad at all!
Solid for what it is, but it is an indie game made by two people so don't expect it to be full blown cyberpunk Thief.
Real highlight is light and sound based stealth. AI is sufficent. Gadgets are hit and miss. Grenade based ones are fine, but power-ups are poorly implemented. No indication of active power-ups or how much time you have left, only real indicator of them running out is sound cue.
Aesthetically it has few things going for it and personally I don't mind block based graphics, but gray concrete is overused.
Story is okay. You have diverse cast (if you care about those things), without any blatant propaganda.
Overall fun game, but I will really shine on repeated playthroughs.
A light mix of Deux Ex and Thief. Ejoyable OST and maps. Kind of too basic overall but still scratches the stealth itch. Has a level editor too but there isn't a community for it. It's sad to see a huge potential going unnoticed.

[i]Deus Ex[/i] meets [i]Perfect Dark[/i], giving us an excellently built world of conspiracy and secrets underpinned by an unusually inventive stealth game.
Normally I would criticize stealth mechanics as simple as the ones found in this game; the variable visibility and lightbar are good, but sound propagation is a crapshoot, and there is no evident volume difference between running, walking, and sneaking (you can easily tiptoe right alongside a guard, making what sounds like a huge racket, and never be noticed). Crucial elements like the ability to lean against a door to more clearly hear what's happening in the next room, are outright missing. But despite errors and omissions, the game achieves fundamentally engaging stealth gameplay in a different way than I expected.
Distracting guards is a critical ability in any stealth game's toolkit. [i]NEON STRUCT[/i] allows the distraction of guards by tossing Geocache Tokens, the equivalent of ordinary coins used in other games for a similar purpose. The all-important distinction, however, is that these tokens are a limited resource that can only be obtained by thoroughly exploring each level in order to locate hidden geocaches. Per map, the player has access to five geocaches, each of which supplies one token, for a total of 100 tokens across the entire game. Locating geocaches is also tied to mission ranking, which, while purely cosmetic (aside from achievements), helps underscore "hey, you're missing out on stuff" if the player is skipping geocaches. These systems combine to encourage the player to thoroughly explore every map -- impressively, the geocaches are almost always hidden in places that are obvious to the exploratory eye, as rewards for seeking out and poking one's nose into every nook and cranny. Incentivizing exploration like this, helps reinforce the otherwise fairly basic stealth mechanics in a huge way.
The other impressive innovation of [i]NEON STRUCT[/i] is the initially baffling choice to [i]not[/i] put background music into most of the missions. But wait, doesn't the game proudly advertise its soundtrack, you may ask? Yes, and it definitely has one, and it's very good -- and it mostly plays [i]between[/i] missions, in restful interstitial areas where the player isn't under threat and is free to roam, talk to locals, take up brief sidequests, buy food (or illegal substances and electronics) using money obtained during missions, and absorb the worldbuilding. These slow segments pace the game excellently, giving the player a breather between sneaky sections. Hearing soothing electronic tunes saturating the air after leaving a mission has an almost hypnotic effect. I quickly associated music with safety and freedom, and the interstitial rest areas became some of my favorite parts of the game. A local food truck will be playing the radio, or somebody will have a boombox in the local market, or some punk teens will be blaring a song while loitering about, or a tune will waft out the windows of the pub down the street -- it's a beautiful effect achieved seemingly effortlessly, by [i]not[/i] putting the music into the levels themselves.
I can't recommend this game enough, for stealth fiends. Refreshingly original. Be sure to pick up the official expansion, "The Dulce Archives", from the game's Workshop page. It's free!
Summary: It's like if Thief 2 was smashed up with the OP Deus Ex.
Since the old Thief series, a lot of stealth games don't commit to the concept and make the stealth mechanics trivial through combat buffs and stuff like that. This game commits to the premise and does it very well. It has an interesting story reminiscent of Deus Ex (complete with moral quandaries and branching endings) and gameplay that is basically Thief 2.
I had more fun with this game than most recent AAA stealth games. Definitely worth the price.

Deus Esque
This is a stealth game that will please players who played Thief or Splinter Cell in their childhood. It has a few issues, one is notably that the lighting often does not correspond to how lit the player is, I believe due to the way the light was baked. The other is that, while the game features a level editor, it is not very user friendly, thus there are only 3 community made stories you can play.
Apart from those two small issues, it's a nice, short, and concise game, and I would say it's definitely worth the money on a sale.

NEON STRUCT se siente como Thief con una estructura narrativa inspirada por Deus Ex. Desde luego hay problemas como la poca dificultad, la inteligencia artificial sencilla de confrontar y niveles bastante básicos para el tipo de juego que es.
Pero aun así se siente muy bien en términos de mecánicas, los controles son muy fluidos y en general ir en sigilo se siente bien, quizás la única pena es que se puede poner bastante fácil en términos de la inteligencia artificial sobre todo una vez que sabes sus debilidades.
Otra cosa que me gusta mucho son los momentos en lo que simplemente exploras e interactúas con el mundo. Y aunque la historia al final pierde un poco su rumbo cumple su objetivo. También ayuda mucho la estética y música que saben complementarse bastante bien entre sí.
Es un juego bastante sólido y apenas tiene partes innecesarias al durar un par de horas.

I enjoyed it enough for what it was. Kind of a stripped back bare bones cyberpunk version of the original Thief. In saying that I bought it 90% off which also helps give it the thumbs up for what I paid. Regular price based on the amount of playtime you'll get out of it otherwise might seem a bit steep (unless you're going for the hardest setting and S rank which will take you a fair while).
Neon Struct is pretty good! It's like a stripped down Thief 2, with Deus Ex sections set to synthwave in between the stealth levels. Futuristic setting rendered in simple blocky graphics. You play as a capable spy working for a suspicious government intelligence agency.
Its world feels robotic and detached at times, it's much more bare bones than something like the worlds of Thief & Deus Ex. However, I usually found that lent the game a feeling at the back of my mind that it may somehow take place in a sort of Matrix scenario.
Gameplay-wise Neon Struct is REALLY close to Thief. Identical movement engine, footstep audio, similar consumables & tools. With just enough collectable depth to not feel empty. The Breakout hacking minigame is... Interesting, but I don't really like playing Breakout. Otherwise, pretty fantastic all around. S ranking all the missions was an enjoyable challenge, even though various achievements weren't properly awarded when they should've been. I seem to be the only player that's happened to, however, so it's likely an anomaly.
I put this off a while out of low expectations from, I dunno, the graphics I guess. Definitely a mistake. Strong recommend to stealth game & synthwave enjoyers. Wait for a sale, then it's definitely worth it.

This is a pretty simple stealth game. It's modeled after stealth RPGs like Deus Ex, but without skills, dialog trees or combat. Everything on display could be described as a streamlined version of what Deus Ex does. It's much less intimidating for those reasons; I'd recommend this wholeheartedly to stealth fans afraid to get into those games. The simplicity can be a crutch; the environmental design and narrative sometimes feel threadbare. Nonetheless, this a fun game for anyone interested in old-fashioned stealth. For its price, Neon Struct is definitely worth a purchase.
I want to love this game so badly, but in many ways this is once of the least polished, barely playable stealth experiences I've had.
Everything feels empty and hollow. Even if there is a clear artistic goal here, the levels are too big and empty and npcs to static to convey this at all. Everything being built out of cubic shapes also hasn't aged well.
Guards are simultaneously over and underpowered. They can hear/see you with no clear line of sight or without you making much noise at all, but also when they do become suspicious they will (slowly) check the exact location you were in and usually nowhere else before reverting back to their original behavior. And peeking is unsafe for some reason?
In many ways it feels years behind the original thief, which predates it by a few decades. There isn't anything really special about this title and with how rudimentary its mechanics are, you're better off playing most anything else.
A simple stealth game but no less fun because of it. =)

Minimalism doesn't work for stealth, I suppose, as I didn't feel any accomplishment taking out or bypassing guards, since they're not guards, they're emotionless robots. As another reviewer commented: It's (boiled-down) Thief without any of the atmosphere. What remains is a lifeless husk.

This is a game that I recognize has a more niche appeal than most.
The graphic fidelity is not on par with most modern 3D games, and that's okay; the aesthetic is unique enough to stand on its own (even though voxel is played out these days, the art style still feels fresh). There's a sophistication to the minimalism--it's clean, and it works.
The gameplay is pretty standard fare for a stealth game, but where the game shines is its charm.
And the soundtrack is a great 80's-influenced style; a real treat.

While Neon Struct was inspired by the original Thief games and Deus Ex, it doesn't come close to them. If this is a dealbreaker for you, Neon Struct is probably not for you. However, if you lower your expectations a bit and if you are ready to dive into the game without thinking of its inspirations all the time, Neon Struct can be a fairly interesting and short game.
What is left when you take away the design and atmosphere from the Thief games and replace them with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ low polygon graphics? The weakest and most dated part of it, the gameplay. They also copied the menu music from Deus Ex: Human Revolution so close, that it pretty much could be copyright infringement. I honestly don't get the overwhelming positiv reviews.
Looks can be deceiving and behind the simplistic graphics lies a surprisingly engrossing stealth game. We are in the shoes of Jillian Cleary, an operative in an agency which tries to get information from all types of sources. Things will go awry fast and you are left with some engaging missions trying to discover what happened.
As I mentioned, gameplay and graphics are fairly simple but it is worth a try for any fans of stealth and a well crafted story.
Besides the somewhat simplistic enemy AI this is a very nice stealth game.

pick it up and play it you will nott be disapointed!
NEON STRUCT is clearly inspired by Deus Ex and Thief but fails to be as compelling as either of them.
It combines Deus Ex's patrolling guards, hacking, and security systems with Thief's visibility meter, showing the player how obvious their presence is. Neon Struct scores points for mixing the two strongest elements of both games' systems, but this stealth fluctuates between "too easy" and "too strict." Guard AI is very simple to overcome, with a generous warning if the player is about to be spotted, but if they are, then a player can't effectively run/hide/retaliate. At least, this is the case for the first 5-6 missions I played, where the player has no weapon except scrambler/darkness grenades, guards run faster than you, and fleeing back into the shadows does not fool anyone. You're clearly meant to use your grenades or break line-of-sight, but I couldn't shake them for the life of me. This means that, as easy as it is to sneak, getting spotted is essentially a game over, with the extra step of waiting for the guards to beat you into the floor. Most stealth games I've played are, in fact, MORE forgiving than this. Maybe I was just bad at it? Yes, the point is to not get caught in the first place, but if I can't fix my mistake, why not just show me a game over screen?
Overall, the level design is very simple. This would not be such a bad thing, but the levels are also large, meaning you'll be doing very little in them for far longer than expected. This is a problem that Deus Ex and Thief also have - maybe don't repeat that mistake? And again, the simple guard and camera AI means that no matter how big the level is, the challenges are never very complicated, but always, screwing up comes with the un-fun punishment of being whacked 3 times and falling over.
The lo-fi environments, while a respectable design choice, aren't detailed enough to sell the "cyberpunk" aesthetic, making the game look like Minecraft with film grain and a neon haze, and yes I know that's a tired criticism of indie games from the 2010s, but dammit, it's true. Buildings are uninspired cubes and rectangles on the outsides, and filled with cube rooms and rectangle halls on the insides. Sometimes there is a purple light, sometimes a blue TV, sometimes a potted plant, but for the chunk I played, it was all dark streets and dull gray offices, indistinguishable but for the nameplates next to their doors. It's not exactly the cool synthwave neon-nights yester-future that most games shoot for. I could not speak to the quality of the story, as I didn't play very far. I do appreciate that this game has a female protagonist, but the plot happening around her seemed rather stock.
Neon Struct has a few non-serious technical hiccups as well. I'm not sure if its stereo sound works - footsteps seem to come from the left when a character is clearly on the right side of the screen, and no, I am not wearing my headphones the wrong way. It froze once, but resumed successful play in a few seconds. Apparently there's a level editor that you can open with a hotkey (why...?) so I accidentally opened it a few times.
I understand this is a small dev team with limited resources, and my expectations might be unrealistic, but this was altogether a disappointing experience that did not live up to the games it was clearly inspired by. I gave it the requisite two hours, but didn't like it at all, and refunded.
For stealth games like this that I'd reccommend instead, try the obvious Thief trilogy (always cheap on Steam), Ghost Of A Tale, Invisible Inc, or even the modern Deus Exes. There's also Gloomwood, but it's only a demo at the time I write this. If you'd rather play a game with a similar but better aesthetic, there's Hypnospace Outlaw, FURI, Diaries Of A Spaceport Janitor, or Jazzpunk.
I'm a fan of immersive sim games and a fan of short, simple stories that have character and a fun feel.
This was both, like a relaxing more casual immersive sim, allowing you to knock out all enemies if you wish, or even get seen with no actual consequence (but you can get a higher score by ghosting and not getting seen etc).
8/10 absolutely worth it if you can get it on sale.
In first missions i thought story is gonna be boring and it's just about gameplay mechanics but this game is definitely tricked me out. Storytelling is really good and you really start to wonder wtf is going on. [i]Neon Struct[/i]'s influences are clear, as it tries to be an immersive sim following in the footsteps of the original [i]Deus Ex[/i] and the Looking Glass [i]Thief[/i] games, and while the aspiration is admirable, it's a damned shame how it seemingly failed to learn the most important lessons from those games.
Set in a near cyberpunk future, [i]Neon Struct[/i] has you step into the shoes of infiltrator super-spy Jillian Cleary, working for a shady government organization when you are betrayed and forced to go on the lam, sneaking around many a heavily guarded building to clear your name. It's a classic spy set-up, even if it feels predictable here, and there is a certain charm in desiring to untangle the mystery before you. Along the way, you'll run into all of your favorite cyberpunk archetypes - the techno-church, the underground anti-authoritarian cabal, the old friends who seem to have changed with time. They're all here. It's immediately apparent that the game doesn't want to reinvent the wheel so much as lavish in its mood.
And mood the game certainly has. From the click of footsteps over tile and metal to the gentle sythwave postrock that plays in the game's hub areas, [i]Neon Struct[/i] sets out to impress with its ambiance. It's a wise move, too; the game's lo-fi visuals (e.g. low-poly models, modest texture work, limited animation, etc.) leave a lot to the imagination, so filling in gaps with subtle touches of audio makes up a big difference. The soundtrack, in particular, is a pleasant and has a pretty chill mood... which, admittedly, doesn't really fit the tone of the story at all, but it [i]is[/i] pleasant, so points for that, I suppose.
The problems begin to surface earlier if you're familiar with Minor Key Games's prior work. Before [i]Neon Struct[/i], they released a game titled [i]Eldritch[/i], another immersive sim with heavy roguelike elements and an emphasis on [i]Dishonored[/i]-esque stealth. These two games share many assets, including the audio files for the main character, which proves... distracting, at least. Furthermore, neither game has the strongest grasp on NPC AI, and their use of modular units for environment design feels less like a way to procedurally generate levels and more like the developers failing to expand their repertoire.
On that note, the gameplay, like the visuals, feels shockingly sparse. You have your standard set of stealth game verbs (e.g. run, walk, crouch, creep, peek around corners, etc.), but very little about the game feels properly "cyberpunk." Even the hacking game minigame, done through the form of ye olde [i]Break-Out[/i] feels tacked on in the best of moments, too reliant on randomness to ever feel [i]good[/i]. What tools the game does give you feel... out of place for the more grounded political thriller plot, and are, wouldn't you know, the [i]same[/i] tools that [i]Eldritch[/i] used in its levels? Furthermore, the game is stingy enough with any other tools, that it discourages the playful experimentation that so often makes immersive sims sing; in other words, it plays in an utterly stock-standard way for a stealth game.
But the biggest problem for me, at least, is that it didn't learn that part of what made [i]Deus Ex[/i], and even more [i]Thief[/i], work was the little details that made the world feel alive. In [i]Thief[/i], guards would hum to themselves or call out into the darkness if they heard you, voices full of worry. They had a slew of taunts and vocal tics and unique animations that made them feel real, if rather goofy. And [i]Deus Ex[/i] went out of its way to lean in on presentation, even if the vocal work feels a little wooden by modern standards. [i]Neon Struct[/i] does... none of this. Guards move robotically and communicate telepathically, never feeling any more real than the androids and security-bots that also patrol. The whole experience feels [i]dead[/i] in the details, and that hurts the experience over all.
Look, I won't sit here and argue that this is some terrible or awful game - it's not. It sounds like a lot of people found the plot engaging, and if you're [i]really[/i] hankering for some old-school stealth design, you could certainly do a lot worse. Saying that this game fails to live up to its influences, some of the greatest PC stealth games of yesteryear, is [i]perhaps[/i] raising the bar too high. I get that. That said, [i]Neon Struct[/i] never really seems to hit its pace. It doesn't have the instant-replayability of [i]Eldritch[/i] or the charm of [i]Thief[/i], leaving it as a pale shadow of the games it draws inspiration from. If you absolutely must, grab it on sale, but otherwise, try the original [i]Thief[/i] games instead.
If you like stealth games like Thief, you'll like this stealth game
Simple, stripped down stealth gameplay and a story that directly tackles one of the major issues facing society today. That soundtrack doesn't hurt either!
This is a pleasant little successor to the Thief series. Though its levels are generally less complex and the worldbuilding a little sparse, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The aspects which weren't borrowed from Thief (such as the occasional level dedicated entirely to story/worldbuilding without any stealth) are refreshing and make the game stand out as an original creation and not solely an attempt to copy other great games.
Imagine a cross-over of Thirty Flights of Loving with the old school Thief games.
The game does a lot with its stripped-down presentation. The stealth mechanics are fun and the soundtrack really adds to the aesthetic of the game. Highly recommend on sale.
Its indie bootleg deus ex. There's no way around it. The aesthethic is different (and imho, worse, i dont like the neon, but its a personal opinion) There's less music, no voice acting, and no RPG elements or weapons, however this is a deus ex in minecraft levels made with creative mode with Thief's light indicator.
Sometimes the AI is fantastic (If he AI sees another guard suspicious they all get suspicious) And sometimes not so much (Guards cant really have a safe area from which they wont aggro you so the level design is made so that you are out of their line of sight outside some areas of the map, they also sometimes get stuck in world objects and will hear and be suspicious of door opening sounds, but not seeing a closed door open. They will be suspicious of the sound of a lightswitch, but not the light atop them being shut off.
I really do wish this game gets more polish or a sequel, because this is a diamond in the rough and after Square cancelled the third Adam "Didn't ask" Jensen trilogy its gonna be the closest someone will get to a new deus ex game other than reinstalling the old game and modding it.
One of the best things of the game is how "Knocking out the guards" is not encouraged. What IS encouraged is to be a proper ninja and never knock someone out or alert them, which is something i like. Not so stealthy in a spy mission when half the guards wake up hours later after being kicked.
Its a great cheap deus ex-like fun. Wish that there were more to the gameplay.
Neon Struct is a game I did not know I needed. It is a inspired by stealth games from the late '90s - early '00s era, mainly Deus Ex and Thief. Like DX, it is set in a futuristic, neon-lit world with conspiracy themes. Like Thief, the gameplay focuses heavily on stealth, and darkness basically makes you invisible. There is no combat, if you get detected you'll have to run and hide, or maybe do a takedown while hidden. You play as spy Jillian Cleary, who was wrongfully framed and hunted by her agency.
This game has a unique, low-poly artstyle mixed with beautiful neon lights. While I have no issues with low-poly artstyle and faceless characters, it would be a lot better if the world was "decorated" more, like another low-poly cyberpunk game State of Mind. It would make the already good world even better. The game is also sadly kinda short. If you're a fan of '90s stealth games, especially Thief and Deus Ex, Neon Struct is a hidden gem that you will definitely love.
Довольно простенький, но приятный на визуал и слух (благодаря неоновой стилистике и ненавязчивым песенкам) стелс. Авторы явно вдохновлялись Thief: разные типы поверхностей, в т. ч. и ковры, от которых зависит звук шагов (как собственных, так и врагов), возможность вырубать свет, камеры, ходячие роботы... Правда, в «Ворах» 20-летней давности всё равно эти вещи на несколько голов выше сделаны. Здесь, например, довольно трудно на слух определить направление шагов противника. АI вообще невероятно тупой даже на последнем уровне сложности: не видит игрока в 10 сантиметрах, на смену освещения не реагирует, теряет в течение пары секунд, если забежать за угол. Чтоб был хоть какой-то челлендж, нужно проходить ТОЛЬКО на эксперте на рейтинг S в стиле призрака — без обнаружений и оглушений, тогда хоть какой-то интерес появляется. Одним из плюсов являются нейтральные локации между миссиями, где можно расслабленно побродить, выполнить элементарные поручения и закупиться снаряжением, отдохнув от ползания на кортах. В целом занятная, но необязательная инди-безделушка. Но поклонники оригинальной «воровской трилогии» могут даже проникнуться и получить какое-то удовольствие на 1-2 вечера. Брать лучше по скидке.

Fun Stealth game. The AI is a little wonky. But I've been enjoying this game quite a bit so far.
NEON STRUCT es un juego de sigilo en primera persona que se siente como un tributo a los Thief originales, jugamos como una agente para una organización que se especializa en el sigilo y por tanto vamos a tener que infiltrarnos en la mayoría de lugares para completar los objetivos.
El juego se inspira mucho en la saga Thief teniendo muchas similitudes como un indicador de que tan visibles somos hasta una mecánica de sonido que nos ayuda a escuchar a los enemigos pero a ellos también les indica donde estamos. En general es bastante sencillo hasta jugando en difícil y sin los indicadores de sospecha de los enemigos, es fácil abusar de la IA y te sobran un montón de items para usar en las misiones, en todo el juego solamente habré usado 2 o 3 items en total. La estética deja que desear, si bien es la onda del juego ser minimalista muchos escenarios y habitaciones se sienten muy vacías, se puede llegar a tener una estética minimalista pero con con más detalle como lo hace el Mirror's Edge.
Como conclusión me parece un buen juego si buscas algo similar a la saga Thief, pero si no es el caso te recomiendo que vayas a jugar los dos primeros juegos porque hacen lo mismo que este pero 10 veces mejor.
Totally sick game. The game is very tight, for length, mechanics, and choices, and the setting features futuristic Science-Fiction (though set in an alternate 2015), corporate and government espionage and surveillance, stealth, gadgets, pseudo-hub worlds between missions, and a retro 80s neon sci-fi visual style and great electronic soundtrack, which I would never listen to normally, but totally complements everything about this game. Your play style really determines how much you enjoy it, I think. If you run in and knock out every guard and just bee-line the objectives, it's a relatively fast (short) game. However, getting the S rank in every level by 'ghosting' through, completing the optional objectives, and finding the collectables in each course becomes a great stealth game. I'm a huge fan of [i]Perfect Dark[/i] and [i]Clandestine[/i], so this game is right up my alley.
If you ever liked the thief games you'll like this. Keep in mind though that this game is a bit bare bones but still fun

A nice little throwback stealth game, seemingly built specifically for fans of the Deus Ex and the early Thief games. I'd give it a rec if that's up your alley, overall the game should last about 4-5 hours for most everyone.
Gameplay: Great, if not a little easy. Just as slow-paced as Thief. Would recommend going for a Ghost playthrough rather than knocking people out, else I think this would be way too easy. There's usually multiple ways to get in and out of areas which is great, though it would've been nice to see more of the larger levels with even more variety. Several open, non-stealth transitional levels are also in there as a welcome change of pace.
Graphics: Stylishly ugly if that makes sense. A little overly minimalistic for my tastes, with some floors and walls looking like default Minecraft textures, but the lighting and general art direction still evokes some cool looks.
Audio: Very basic and repetitive footstep loops will be burned into your brain, unfortunately this is the most grating thing about the game. Still, you always get a good idea of where bad guys are relative to you, and the OST has some fitting darkwave / post-punk tunes that play on various radios - would've been nice to hear more of them.
