it have many bugs
Could be really fun, but its frustratingly buggy. to be fair, they fixed the bug that drove me away at first regarding the anvil, but whenever i try to take apart tools given to the adventurer, it breaks taking apart tools entirely. This would be avoidable if it didn't also apply to accidentally messing up a repair order. I lost a save this way, which really turned me off to the game. The bugs are really annoying, and the game could use some polish overall. A lot of potential here though.
Note: There also seems to be a bug with equipping hammers. There goes another save. This game is maddening. If you have the patience of a monk, consider it.

I've never left a review for a game, but this one I feel requires the need for one.
First, the good:
1) I love this game, or rather the idea of this game. I yearn for a cozy little blacksmith game where i can just make tools and weapons all day. And early on long ago (before I had gotten it on steam) this game scratched that itch for me.
2) The freedom to do whatever is nice. I really enjoyed how this game allows you to obtain your materials in different ways. Whether thats mining in the cave nearby to collect ore to then smelt into ingots, going to the local shop to grab guards and handles, or just ordering everything off the catalog in your shop yard.
Second, the bad:
1) I genuinely feel like this game was better a hand full of years ago. And what I mean by that is I was able to progress a decent amount without any hinderance. But now, after a few years, I've booted up again, played just under an hour, and experienced more bugs in that short time frame than I have in the years prior that I've owned and played this game. One of which crashed my game in a way I've not seen before.
2) It still feels a bit clunky. And thats ok, thats to be expected from an indie game. However, for an indie game thats been out for almost a decade... it's a little ridiculous.
I could probably add more negatives and even a few positives if I really sat down and put in the time to think about everything, but I don't. I don't think a lot of people who play cozy games have the time to put that kind of time into something. And I don't have the time to put a lot of effort into playing a game that has been in development for almost a decade for it to be arguably worse than it was years ago. Again, I want to love this game with all my heart. I want to sit down on a day off and become enveloped in this little world serving customers who need swords, shields, and axes. I want to spend a day in game mining to get my copper ore so I can save my coins. I want to explore the amazing world that has been crafted for me to discover. And I want to leave a positive review, but sadly I feel this game isn't there yet.
To the dev: I do cherish the fun times I've had in this game, and I do sincerely hope it becomes the dream it was once meant to be. I will always be rooting for this in the bottom of my heart. I can't wait for the day I sit down again to play and get lost in this paradise.

A peaceful, cosy, satisfying game with some unfortunate glitches/bugs. It's a shame that difficulties stalled the development of the game. The dev really has something here and it hope he's able to finish it someday.
Comprehensively, I love this game.
I mainly play on the Alpha Test Branch and have grown to love it.
I want to focus on a few things the game does that I love, then move on to some improvements.
To start off one of the things I have to say I love most about the game is the amount of secrets and hidden gemstones and Easter eggs and puzzles. These are entirely unnecessary for the function of the game but their inclusion is such a pleasant surprise and adds some depth to the game. So much so that without them it would seem entirely a waste. I also really enjoy the placement of workstations and their modularity regarding their placement and that of storage rack and weapon racks.
I also love the mining system, as a concept mostly, but I see that there is a lot of potential regarding how the mining system could affect the player experience. I have a few suggestions for that which I will specify below. More than anything, I appreciate the looks, the aesthetics, and the atmosphere of the game. It just has charm. I also enjoy the gameplay cycles and layout of the blacksmithing itself.
Do not let what I am about to say be seen as impolite, it is merely reflective about the current state of the game.
It has a few issues, as any game does. Most of the issues that affect My Little Blacksmith Shop stem from technical issues. To be specific, I experience some item physics issues and have sent myself flying a few times, lol. I have two other comments that are more like suggestions than anything else, they specifically look at the player experience over a long term playthrough. The frequency of repair jobs should be lowered a little bit. Most of the jobs I take are repair jobs, I would guess its about 2 to 3 repair jobs for 1 tool/weapon creation job. I understand that repair jobs serve as an important source of income even if you don't have money or income, mainly as a fallback or to get you enough money to buy metal. For that purpose they are exemplary, but they simply allow for less creativity and less blacksmith/weapon design.
The regular blacksmithing where to go a build your owns weapons will likely always be the center part of the game for most people and for progression and it is already very fun and satisfying to me. The designs, the combination and the process. They are all more interesting than repair daggers. I have begun refusing all repair work manually because of this disparity in interest.
My second suggestion is that the mining system be expanded a little bit, or more like it should be tweaked rather than expanded. Right now, as a player, mining can seem like a waste of time. I frequently asked myself why this was over the last three years. I think I have come to a few reasons that if remedied could make mining more worthwhile and more likely to be something that the player is willing to engage with.
The following portion is more like feedback than anything:
One, I think it would be more useful to the player if either the ore veins themselves were larger in the quantity of ore or that when you broke one ore chunk two or three pieces fell from it. I believe that this change or a similar one is so necessary for the player experience because the amount of metal that the player needs for even one single day of blacksmith is so large in comparison to the amount of metal a player can reasonably find while mining. Right now for example in my latest playthrough I want to move from Iron to Steel, however I realize that It would like require 5 days of mining and searching before I had enough smeltable material to allow me to properly accomplish this switch. Even once I do that, I plan to upsell them to adelite as fast as I can in order to compensate for my limited steel stock. This leaves me very little time or reason to enjoy selling steel to my customers as it is a very time consuming substance to come by. This applies to brass as well but not bronze, as I can buy the materials to make that.
Second, the location of ore veins can be a bit nebulous. Sure there is always some in the mine, and from a players perspective that makes sense, so I'm not talking about that one in particular. I mean that there should be a more concrete way to communicate to the player where ore can be found or which types of ore can be expected to be in which places. Right now, the player is forced to essentially walk around the extents of the map and of every wall in an attempt to find ore, and these veins are very scarce and difficult to find. If you could find or invent a way to communicate their locations to the player, and make it something that the player has to actually go an retrieve, either a map, a special tool or even just by changing the look of the veins to be more noticeable. I would suggest for the above ground nodes maybe having some mining equipment nearby like the vein has been actively mined before, maybe a lamppost so that miners that previously dug into the hillside could work during the night. Tiny aesthetic decisions like that would probably be the easiest for the creator, as he is very skilled at using smaller items in this way.
Third, the mining takes too long, I mean the act of mining itself. Maybe lower the health of the ores a little bit, as a balancing tweak. This is the tweak I would be the least confident in.
Stepping away from mining, there are many things the game does great that I love and that could still be improved, mainly how to act and interact with NPCs. They have not implemented any type of dialogue system into the game, nor do I think that do so necessary. Right now you can click to interact with people. its in a very basic form currently and could be expanded upon. From the players perspective, the NPC have really cool armors and outfits and role to play in the world, however other than purchasing from shop, (Why does the parts shop reset every 5 seconds?) the player has little to no interact with the people that have been crafted so intricately in visual design. I love the look that NPCs have and the placement of them, their movements. You even have class stratification in the Northern Kingdom. I don't know where I'm going with this to be honest, but right now its like the NPCs are their for vibes when NPCs could be more than just vibes.
Overall, I love it, I think it is worth playing, but it has a it to go before its something I could call great.

I refunded I couldn't get past the tutorial sucks that the game was so cool in beta but the full game comes out and is unplayable.

I've seen a lot of negative comments, and I wanted to preface this review by saying that I haven't been getting a lot of the same bugs as some people, especially with the tutorial. I picked up this game for the first time in a while after a few years away, and I've had no major issues.
This game is a PASSION PROJECT, for 10 dollars on steam! You can complain that it's buggy or unpolished because it's no longer in early access and that's valid, but keep in mind it's literally one guy working on this. He clearly cares a lot, enough to actively mention community sentiment changing his plans for the game.
I feel like a lot of people are spoiled for choice seeing all the incredible indie games releasing nowadays. It's valid to be upset with bugginess or unpolished gameplay, but a few minutes of browsing the update schedule will tell you what you need to know - this isn't going to be the next Silksong. There is no seasoned team of devs working on this that's been polishing the game for almost a decade straight, waiting for the right opportunity to crash the internet. Game design is an interative process.
So in short, if you like blacksmithing, give this game a buy. It may not be everything you hoped for right away, but the dev WANTS to make a good game. Every update gets us closer to that. He doesn't have the luxury of unlimited time or budget, or the superintelligence needed to do everything right on the first try. I hope that anyone who reads this develops a similar sentiment, and joins me in eagerly waiting for this game to blossom like I know it will.

Spectacular indie game, not gonna lie i did this partially for the game awards around this time, but even then this game is a gem, the persistence of the devs and its core gameplay make it one of my favorite small blacksmithing simulators.

A lot of the positive reviews (like almost all of them) are from previous game versions when the game used to be more fun and playable. Now it has more content and a much larger map buuuut it barely runs, like at all. Just too many bugs. Also progression can easily kinda be accomplished. Like if you can afford 2 ingots of the next tier you just sell those and make a goofy amount of money. So it really can be speed run pretty easily
Yeah, no lol. I played this game in 2020 when it was still in early access. Here's why I'm leaving a negative review:
-If you increase the FOV, the world won't render properly, and you will run into invisible walls
-The game is super dark even in midday with torches lit + a lantern
-The tool tips still say the game is in early access despite Steam saying it isn't.
-My hammer literally turned into a handle, and I got stuck after the tutorial... so now I need to redo the tutorial and waste another 10-20 minutes
-Full of bugs and things that don't work even tho they should
-just retried the tutorial. Honestly, please don't even try. The goal is "wait for a customer to arrive in your shop." One arrived, and the tutorial didn't progress.
-just redid the tutorial for the 5th time and finally got through it SO MANY BUGS OML
-Never mind, it bugged again ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ BRO HOW IS IT SO BAD AFTER ALMOST A DECADE WHAT IS THIS TRASH

It's been a few years since I started to follow and look at this game. I really enjoyed it to the point I actually supported it as a patron on patreon for a couple years. The art was cute, the characters were simple but charming, the game-play was actually kinda fun...
But... I've gotta say, the game has done nothing but gotten worse with every update now. Characters look out of place, the building system is chaos, nothing is properly explained, the tutorial barely serves as a means to explain anything assuming you know how to even read the tutorial letters. (In case you're wondering, don't pick them up. Instead, tap E on them to read them... instead of opening your inventory and clicking to read them. That's on me I guess, instincts and all that-)
It feels... just awkward and bad now. It's barely playable... I know my words mean nothing in the grand scheme of it all, but hopefully it gets pulled around back to being something actually fun to play.

Excellent game, a bit unclear at first, you will be googling a lot of the game mechanics and talking to people on the Discord server to get the hang of it, but after you understand what's going on, it's an an excellent game. If you like Minecraft, more specifically modded Minecraft with Tinkers' Construct, you will LOVE this game!
I really liked this game in the early versions. When I bought it I can say it was at its peak. The gameplay was enjoyable, there was some exploring to do, you could have a pet wolf and there was a hint at some quests that will come in the future. The graphics also fitted with the world unlike now. With more new updates the old worlds broke, so I had to restart my playthrough and with the new character design the game lost what I once loved about it. Now it just feels like a cheap sequel to a good game.

It's barely a functional game. Perfectly fine for a pre-alpha that launched just this year, but this one launched 8 years ago! Updates seem to still be happening, but I'd say it's best to treat this like an abandoned early access game.

Good Game
This game was released in Jan of 2017 it's been in development for almost 10 years. Now I may not know much about the development team if it is a Team but I will tell you about the issues that have ruined the experience of this game for me and what made me want to keep playing through them.
Pros: The game is a physics based rather immersive blacksmithing simulator. You can mine, refine, and smith from Copper all the way up to Titanium with varying metals and alloys between, there are puzzles to solve and customers to keep happy and you can even do some minute armorsmithing as well. Aside from the multitude of bugs that have plagued me since I bought this game I enjoyed almost every minute of it but I've hit my limit for the amount of BS I can tolerate on this game.
Cons: This game has more bugs than skyrim, and these bugs can and will wipe hours of progression from the face of the earth, some these bugs are:
Advanced Smelter wiping it's internal storage after a crash
Poor storage system forcing players to utilize poorly optimized storage crates which will yeet themselves into oblivion rather often
Forgetting to lock Job Crates for bulk/special orders into the wagon can and will often yeet it into oblivion as well.
Having a broken torch in your hot bar and not able to remove it.
Want to replace the weapon your adventurer has equipped? Hope you aimed properly and don't accidentally remove the shield he has on already for it'll wipe it's quality and you'll need to remake a whole new one.
Have 105 Ingots of Adelite sitting in your advanced smelter? Better get them all out at once because if you don't and you melt an amount of them down you'll lose the rest of them.
Have too many items on the ground or resting on tables? Let's hope you don't bump one into a wall and have to make a whole new save due to a cascade error everytime you reload the save.
If you decide you want to play, buy this game on sale, it's not even worth the $10 in it's current buggy state in my opinion, though this game has a solid baseline until the bugs are resolved in some manner or some optimizing is done to it's main mechanics I will stay firm on not recommending it.

Game still needs a lot of polishing, many features feel there but not functioning at all. Items disappearing, especially when trying to store them in crates.
I saw some youtuber play this some years ago, and wanted to try it out. Very much regret that now. The "tutorial" feels half done. It tells you how to move around, but wont tell you how to do the important things you need to know. Moving in the game feels like wading through molasses, and overall it was nowhere near as fun as I had hoped.
I come back to this game once or twice a year to see if it's less of a buggy mess, because this game has so much potential. For the first time, I'm proud to say the game is actually less buggy than it used to be. However, I still get softlocked early in the tutorial (or maybe it's just badly written), give it another 10 years and maybe this game will actually be good

I remember watching a youtuber play this way back when it didnt exist on steam. The idea of making weapons instead of using them was novel at the time and I got the itchio release of this game to try it out for myself. It was barebones but fun and simple. After a while I gave up thinking the game was done, but as soon as I saw it on the store page for half price, I got it immediately only to be met with this confusing new non-blocky game that had so many bugs and new features that were hodgepodged together. Now it seems this game is another abandoned indie game that fell flat thanks too many unnecessary features and too many bugs.
really fun game!! my only problem with it is that it's shelf storage keeps breaking, i sometimes can't disassemble items i'm supposted to repair and my game will sometimes have a fatal error every hour or two and it doesn't autosave.

If the developer focused on fixing existing bugs instead of adding more content and creating more bugs, it would be a great game.
I wish listed this in 2017, since then I have got married, started a company, and a bunch of other things. I figured it had been so long and the reviews said to wait back then, that I would buy this and try it out.
I guess almost 10 years wasn't long enough and it needed another 10. It is very clunky and tedious to me and isn't fun.
They have the greatest selection of games and for a small fee. The Support has always béen a great experience,
I really wish i could recommend this game. I really do. But its a shell of its former self. The dev is great, but went off into left field with development unexpectedly, and changed the way the game looks and plays. Its no longer what i really wanted to enjoy and what was advertised.

TLDR For the price id say this game is mostly worth it for the 1.0 experience alone.
I want to love this game however there are a few issues that Im not sure are going to get fixed. The 1.0 version is as I remember from years ago and is a fantastic start of a game. The game play loops are fun albeit simple in some regards. But it generally still feels like an early access game with the glitches and bugs and general jankyness that it still has. This would not be an issue if it felt like the creator was going to continue working on this version however I have seen post from him that leads me to believe he is dropping support for this game and going to mostly leave as is aside from some major bug fixes. (I would love to be wrong about this btw). The real issue arises from the 2.0 version or the beta test versions which are a huge sidestep to the original. Gone is the cute blocky style of the old and now comes in a more realistic version that honestly makes things feel more dated than acting as an upgrade. The new version does come with some changes and better balancing of the game mechanics and a much bigger world to explore but at the cost of a huge more amount of bugs and glitches that can seriously dampen the play-ability and how much enjoyment you will get.
I would suggest the dev keep this 1.0 version updated with fixes and general QOL updates. However the 2.0 experience really needs a separate steam page given how much work still needs to be put into it. I would think a goodwill gesture to the 1.0 players of being given keys to the new (2.0 version) once split would be fantastic allowing them to play which ever version they like best and allowing the dev to get a more dedicated early access crowd for the 2.0 experience.
Surprisingly accurate while being easy to understand. Find materials and make parts for weapons and tools. I especially enjoy being able to upgrade my tools myself as I progress.

the ORIGINAL version of this game was amazing, and just needed more content (all the game mechanics were there). but then the creator started making a ton of changes that the community never asked for or didnt want. the blocky-ness of the NPCs fit well into the blocky world. And now its abandon ware and the creator left it in a horrible sate with no access to the older version that were playable.
I remember watching some youtubers play this years ago and wanted to give it a try. Safe to say this is the worst video game purchase I've ever made. The game BARELY works. Want to put ingots on the anvil to make an axe? GOOD LUCK.
What a mess of a game, the mini-game for hammering felt like it had a delay reaction, I had trouble attaching a handle to a pickaxe head at the worktable, I got fatigued and had to walk around at a snails pace to get anywhere (300 meters to my next tutorial objective), walk to a bridge and the guard says I need to pay 300-400ish gold to cross it to get to the location the tutorial is directing me to (I have 100ish copper coins), and after reading the comments below I don't even know if I'm playing version 1 or 2.0 of this game. What does 0.1.3 even mean for versions, 0.1.3 meaning 1.0.0 is complete? If so does that mean the game is only 1/10th of the way complete? If this is not a full released game why is this not labeled EARLY ACCESS? The game was released Jan 16, 2017!? HUH? I have 2 hours to test the game before refunding, but I don't really know if I want to waste it on a game that is not yet complete. I'm leaving comments open if anyone doesn't mind taking the time clearing things up for me I would appreciate that. I feel like I would actually like this game, I'm just really confused on what's going on.
None of the actual game mechanics work and everything is a buggy mess.
the game is unique and fun and me and my brother been waiting a while for it to update, every so often returning after few major updates to see the progress and for a while we gave up on the game because it was abandoned with so many bugs and issues but recently noticed multiple updates being pushed out and who ever working on this game is trying again to make it someone despite all the negative reviews. atm its wierd to play but its still worth waiting to see what happens as it slowly improves. if the developer ever reads then then know me and my bro belive in you =)

do not buy this version or the new version it is unfinished and the creator is a scam artist.

Sadly this game will never be finished as they are planing to make a 2.0 version that you'll have to pay for
