After missing World's Adrift for so long, I really wanted to like this game. Are they even doing any updates anymore? The entire time I played this game with my cousin, we couldn't ignore the amount of bugs this game has and its poor performance. Our most common comment for the game while playing was, "they still have a lot of work to do". I hope they do the work that's needed to make this game meet expectations of those who played WA. They could of honestly just brought that game back as is and it would have been better than this one in its current state. I'll check back later and see if its possible to give this a positive review.

I wish there was an option besides yes or no. I have to choose no though. I played worlds adrift into oblivion. it was amazing. when Lost Skies got announced I was through the roof excited. Then I found out it was using the farcry style if multiplayer and there would be no mmo style interaction. That revelation took the wind from my sales(pun intended) Bossa studios had a gold mine of an idea with the mechanics and they are gorgeously implemented, but it is just not the same.

全体的に作りが雑。いろいろなところで小さいストレスを蓄積させられる。

飛行船のクラフトは他のクラフト系ゲームに比べるとかなり出来が悪い。設置物の位置を調整しようとすると勝手に回転したり、自キャラが邪魔で設置位置が見えなかったりと、とにかくやり辛い。
地形に張り付いたときや狭い場所に入ったときの視認性が最悪で、特に天井に張り付いたときはキー入力と移動方向が噛み合わなくなるのでかなりイライラする。
銃や大砲のレティクルが１ドットぐらいの白い点で、昼の空ではまったく見えない。
ストレージや制作台などを十分な間隔を開けずに配置すると、まともにインタラクトできなくなる。アクセスの優先度を決める法則も不明で、正面のオブジェクトを無視して後ろのオブジェクトにアクセスすることもある。狭い船内にいろいろ置かなければならないのに、この部分が調整不足なのはありえない。
ストーリーは端末に表示される文章を読むだけ。「ボクの考えた凝った設定を見てくれよ」みたいな内容で、序盤から惹かれるものがなにもない。

グラップリングの挙動がよく出来ていて面白いが、移動にしか使わないのは勿体ない。飛行船よりもこちらを主軸にした方が面白かったかもしれない。

I, as a child, saw videos on youtube of a game called "Worlds Adrift", you may know it.
It was, in a sense, a spiritual predecessor to this, Lost Skies.
I never got to play it, by the time I had a computer it had gone under, but, I found this game, and while it was new, I hoped it would be similar enough.

As of this review, it's very... unfinished.
It feels like the developers are... unsure what they want it to be.
It uses a tech tree similar to ARK, where you get points to spend on a descending list of technologies.
However, instead of getting these points by leveling up as with ARK, you get them by finding them in pre-placed parts of the islands. Some are in the open, but most are either hidden, or behind a puzzle.

This isn't inherently bad. What I don't like, is that you need to return to an specific structure to redeem them. This is... strange to me. This game is about exploring, traveling. It's strange that they would make you loop back to where you start [or to one of the other very rare places you can redeem them] every time you want to use these points.

Alongside the point-based tech tree, you also have schematics you can find as loot. These can be used to unlock what they are a schematic for. This also isn't inherently bad, but it somewhat clashes with the point-based tech tree. You have to get points to unlock things, but you also have to scavenge blueprints for other things.

Sure, the blueprint unlocks are not technically necessary. But they sure do feel like it. You can get way more powerful versions of things long before you get the weaker version in the tech tree. I personally got a much better engine *and* mounted gun before getting to either in the tech tree.

Additionally, and this is a personal gripe, you still get blueprints you already have, and they take up inventory space before you redeem them, leaving your inventory full of useless [already learnt] blueprints that need to be manually cleared out.

Now, another topic, the ships.
They are small. Their size is hard limited by a stat that is increased via the tech tree, the initial size is... tiny.
After 20 hours of flying around and progressing, my ship was still small. I... don't like this. I want airships, flying homes. What I ended up with is... a civilian speed boat with a mounted gun.
I don't think the building system is bad, it's fairly decent, and I'll talk about materials in a moment, but the issues is the limit. The limit is just a stat, but it makes it feel so restricted.

The actual flying of the ship, even if it is small, is pretty good. It has weight, you need to give it time to move, and even with engines and sails you still need to wait a bit while going between islands. I never found myself blaming the game when I bump into an island, it was usually me being overconfident or careless.

Now, the materials, this part hurts me the most.
Like Worlds Adrift, the game this is very much based around, each part has a list of materials it accepts, and depending on what you put on, it get's some stats changed.
For example, something like scrap metal isn't very strong, you can use it anywhere that metal is used, but it will be bad. You can make the exact same thing out of iron, it's the same building, but now it's stronger... and heavier...

Why this hurts, is that there is no reason to ever use anything other than iron or steel.
There are several metals, and types of wood, but the difference in stats is so minute, especially considering you'd have to entirely scrap your current ship to change what it's made of.
Every material can also have a rarity, making it statistically better than a non-rarity one, when I played there was common [normal], uncommon [green], and rare [blue]. Ore and tree in more dangerous places is usually rarer.
This isn't a horrible idea, but, I never found myself making use of it. Things of a rarity obviously don't stack with ones that are not, meaning this can over triple the storage space that one metal or wood uses.
And, again, the stats matter so little, I found myself throwing out rare metals from loot just so I didn't have to store them.

I wish, I WISH, this was done better, differing materials in the same building is WHY I was so interested in Worlds Adrift, it's an underdone mechanic I want to see elsewhere. But it's so... optional... here... it hurts.

I don't want to say this is a bad game, the potential is there, it's just... not ready yet.
It needs... several content and balance updates... Until that happens, this will be a negative review.
I will keep on eye on this game, and if this opinion changes, I will reevaluate my review.
My final opinion is, do not buy this yet. Wait and come back to it, it's not done yet.

There are other things to be said, but other reviews say them well, and this one is already long. Keep looking at others for a full understanding.

This game is NOT worth the agrivation. The ideas are cool, the graphics are good, the puzzles are fun. It just feels like it was built by a group of special high school kids that couldn't drive the game home. Sooooo many glitches. So many setbacks because of game mechanics. Tons of arbitrary stupid stuff that just drives you nuts. The loot sucks, so going to the islands isn't worth it except to find different metal ores. The armor that you get does absolutely nothing. Everything one or two shots you in the higher areas. You MUST be able to build a good agile ship to beat the bosses to get their components to upgrade stuff. Those fights are stupid annoying because they can knock you out of your ship and you can't respawn back to it. Not sure if that's intentional or yet another damn glitch.

This is a tinkerer game that you play to bide your time until a real game gets released. Its not worth investing in though.

Bien, Bossa... tenemos que hablar.

Si comparamos esto con Worlds Adrift... cosa que es necesaria. Tenemos una serie de decisiones... complicadas aquí.

Los cambios.

En primer lugar, obviamente no es un mmorpg online, a diferencia del otro. Pero tiene más elementos de rpg que el anterior, para empezar números de daño. Esto implica que han querido "meter más" sin comprender (supongo que habrá cambiado el personal en el equipo) lo que hacía grande a este juego.
Cualquiera que sepa cómo funcionan los videojuegos sabrá que un juego inmersivo y un juego con meta son opciones irreconciliables.

Para poder jugar meta un juego tiene que estar plagado de información, de datos que poder calcular ponderar y analizar de una manera lógica y consciente. Un juego inmersivo busca el efecto contrario. La sensación de estar en la vida real donde los cálculos se hacen por intuición, y en todo caso introduces mecánicas específicas para calcular cosas manualmente, por ejemplo una cinta métrica manual para calcular centímetros dentro del juego con físicas, a la hora de construir algo pieza por pieza. La inmersión no anula el cálculo. Pero un juego inmersivo tiene que funcionar a ciegas. Esto lo sabía muy pero que muy bien worlds adrift.

Ninguna de las armas que podías utilizar tenía números de daño, y solamente había una pistola para matarse entre jugadores. Con lo cual los diferentes cañones eran completamente impredecibles y sólo te podías fijar en los efectos en el entorno de las armas para saber si estabas ganando o perdiendo. Esto hace que las batallas que además eran largas fuesen absolutamente inmersivas. Y eras incapaz de saber si un enemigo estaba realmente avanzado en el juego o no en términos absolutos.

Al mismo tiempo lo que hacía la exploración interesante era la propia producción colectiva de las diferentes islas que podías explorar. Y es que los mapas había que construirlos en comunidad.

Este juego no tiene mapa. Pero no tiene una producción colectiva de islas. Este juego tiene sistemas RPG pero no es un MMO es un juego de un jugador así que realmente no es necesario. Este juego tiene más diversidad de cosas, en general de assets. Pero tiene menos creatividad.

Las islas son genéricas y son tediosas porque simplemente son inmensas y vacías. Si alguien hacía eso en el worlds adrift era más por trol que otra cosa, y ojo, podría ser guay porque podían ser un buen espacio para ahostaciones entre jugadores.

En world adrift el objetivo de la exploración era encontrar tres barriletes de tecnología aleatoria por cada isla de jugadores. La gente escondía los barriletes como le salía de los mismísimos h u e v o s. Y hacían auténticas virguerías tanto para hacerlo bonito como para hacerlo jodidísimo como para hacerlo un reto simplemente o como para hacer que sea espectacular.

Por supuesto hay jugadores que simplemente se dedicaban a hacer cosas inmersivas también como ciudades o castillos o laberintos o lo que fuese.

Como supongo que una dinámica de MMORPG como la anterior les sale muy caro y entonces no lo van a volver a repetir. Pues haz el juego diferente, más tipo enshoruded o más manipulable como minecraft o un mmorpg con servers pequeños y escenarios fijos como el de conan, ark, Atlas, Scape from tarkov, etc.

Por lo menos podrían intentar y esto sí que sería económicamente factible, que el sistema de las islas fuese colectivo.

Worlds Adrift de hecho no ha cerrado y se puede visitar las islas actualmente. Dios mío ¿qué difícil habría sido no? integrar ese sistema en un juego de un jugador jugable. No habrían perdido tiempo diseñando cosas inmensas porque loles.

Al mismo tiempo el tutorial es innecesario, tedioso, difícil artificialmente e incómodo. Y eso que he jugado unos tutoriales que son una mierda, pero esto es realmente horrible.

Por otro lado como esto no es un MMORPG no hacía falta obligar al jugador a construir astilleros por todas partes para poder hacer que tu nave como mínimo pueda repararse. Solamente para cambiar el diseño completo de la nave pero es que ni siquiera lo veo necesario para eso.

Eran un elemento fundamental en un MMORPG basado en físicas en el que un astillero era una protección teporal contra otros jugadores, y era "divertido" ver cómo había bombardeos a astilleros y batallas de ataque y contraataque que duraban horas. ¿Pero es que ahora qué sentido tiene si vas a jugar tú solo y en cooperativo y no hay enemigos que te puedan atacar en oleadas estando estacionado?... Porque los enemigos son los que están estacionados ahora.

Podía haberse utilizado el astillero de otra manera o de mejor manera quitarlo.

No voy a decir que este juego sea un despropósito pero siendo del mismo estudio y teniendo toda la información de lo que funcionaba en el anterior esto es un desastre.

Metes más cosas para que esté peor optimizado y al mismo tiempo lo complicas todo innecesariamente.

Antes en cada isla había los mismos dos materiales madera y metal que valían para hacerlo todo. Que te servían para producir lo mismo. Pero había diferentes maderas y diferentes metales con diferentes niveles de calidad. Y en función de unos y otros tienes más peso, más agilidad, más resistencia, más potencia de fuego, etcétera.

Pues si vas a construir unos cañones de plomo eso hace que sean muy blandos se calienten mucho disparen mal pesen la h_ostia y pues un desastre. Si consigues titanio pues vas a hacer unos cañones brutales. Y si consigues aluminio vas a poder al menos ir muy rápido aunque no tengas lo mejor en potencia. Lo mejor es que puedes poner diferentes partes de metales con diferentes calidades y diferentes maderas etc.

De esto olvidaros, además han complicado el crafteo, pero no lo han mejorado.

Lo voy a jugar de vez en cuando sí, porque el echoes of nosequé, me lo compré y lo devolví porque todavía tiene demasiados bugs no está del todo en orden, pero cuando lo esté lo jugaré más que este que ya lo tengo comprado.

Han podido hacer que quites completamente el hud cosa que agradezco profundamente. Pero explorar y dar vueltas con la nave se hace mucho más predecible y más tedioso que el anterior, en el anterior aparte de que podías encontrarte en cualquier momento un jugador que te pudiera atacar, todas las islas eran diseñadas por jugadores y entonces sabes que cada uno tiene su pedrada en la cabeza y te ibas a encontrar cosas súper divertidas como podéis ver en el worlds adrift normal... en esto no.

Lo recomiendo para quienes NO han jugado worlds adrift. A quienes vivimos esa experiencia única (Y REPETIBLE, QUE NO ES TAN DIFICIL C O Ñ O YA, SE HIZO HACE CASI DIEZ AÑOS CÓMO NO SE VA A PODER HACER AHORA???) nos pesa demasiado.

It's good when the grappling and swinging works, but mostly stiff movements and horrible jumping mechanics when it comes to some jumping puzzles.
Engine is slow, and frequent lags even with 3 good PCs with fiber connection. Lost our main ship by some bug(we think the enemy spawned in the ship, and wrecked the core, instant boom).
Think this will go the same way as Worlds Adrift I must say unless they improve the engine quite well.
The scattered islands were empty at times, and horrible enemies that are damagesponges, and we the players without proper armor.
Very limited armorcrafting, so almost no upgrading compared to weapons.
Stuff going missing in chests has been a problem as well, and other companions seeing resources but not the player and vice versa.

Edit: Forgot this is out of Early Access as well, this is in fact 1.0 release, but still so buggy.

I would like to preface this by saying I did not play solo, so I will not speak on that.

That said, the review bombing is insane, the bugs are pretty minimal, and those who say there's no tutorial are actively lying. They didn't read them when they popped up and covered the top right corner of the screen because they are tiktok baby ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The spawn area is literally called the tutorial islands. You are probably spending at least half an hour there on your first run. STOP LYING IN YOUR ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ REVIEWS JUST BECAUSE YOU PERSONALLY ARE AN ILLITERATE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WHO'S BRAIN HAS BEED ROTTED BY CHATGPT!!!

Angry rant aside,
The main progression loop is to go to new islands, find databanks to upgrade your skill tree and build bigger ships. The controls also feel great in open areas. Unironically the best grappling and gliding in any game I've played, but can be pretty annoying in confined spaces. **IMPORTANT: The game expects you to have side buttons on your mouse. I think you can remap it tho** Ship flying is simple, but does the job well. The game also really needs a world map. Here's this but it really should just be part of the game. Its a bit too difficult for what it is, but most of your time is spend exploring, so its isn't too bad most of the time. Plus you literally cannot loose your stuff to the void since the bag floats and can be grappled. Loosing your ship tho is devastating, but that is kinda the point. The game is going for something similar to the cyclops in subnautica. You don't fear death, but you do fear loosing your progress.

Overall, I do love this game, even if its flawed. I think my main critique is the lack of good a world map. Devs, if you're reading this, take some inspiration from Raft's gameplay loop since its so similar. Maybe have the arcs able to ping the locations of nearby arks and have the map table available way earlier at like rank 3 as well as making it easier to craft.

Stop giving this dev money. Twice they've flopped the same game, but with MORE bugs the second time around.

Check out Echoes of Elysium if you want something similar to the original World's Adrift, but with the same PvE focus this has. The online multiplayer is already better implemented, there's no performance stutter after a few hours of gameplay, and I haven't had any magical storage mishaps yet. Only thing its missing is the dang grapple hook....oh I miss that grapple hook...

Almost exactly like the original, thank you developers wonderful game, however I do miss that it isn't everyone on one server with pvp, but you can still multiplayer. I miss that always looking around your shoulder and setting up ambushes and acting like a ninja ganking and stealing, put alot more adrenaline into the game. But the survival aspect of the game is still really good, they improved on everything, great game!

From what I've heard from the community and what I've seen from the devs, this game is a cash grab for the devs. They reposted their old game with some reworked content, retitled it something new and sold it to the same people as a new project but sadly all the major issues people have been having with this game nothing major seems to be getting fixed.

How is this out of Early Access? Popped by the page to see the progress and saw this.

Where are the Dedicated Servers? Where is the content? Honestly, gave them the benefit of the doubt after Worlds Adrift because of their horrid networking choice of SpatialOS, but it seems nothing was learned.

This will be the last Bossa Studios game I will purchase.

Honestly a huge let down. I was excited to see World's Adrift 2.0 (essentially), but I have not enjoyed the gameplay or dev backing at all. I understand the lack of resources the team is facing, but almost completely dropping the game for other projects with the most minor of updates and bug fixes is just unacceptable. This game could have been amazing. Took away the MASSIVE multiplayer PvP aspect and the game has pretty much died. There is a small community left playing the game, but the numbers just aren't there. This game is for people with way too much time on their hands; people without families, no jobs, streamers, etc... This is not a game for people who want to sit down, play an hour or two, and come back a few days later. This game is an incredible time sink and the average gamer will not enjoy it.

TL;DR - if you are a streamer or have all the time in the world, you may enjoy this game. If you have responsibilities you should save your time and money and avoid this game.

飛空艇に乗って、いくつもの島を探索しギミックを解き、テクノロジーを解放していく感じのゲーム。
楽しいけど、中盤へ進むハードルが高い。

周辺の島の探索が終わると、風の壁を超えないといけないのだが、風の壁では帆が破壊されてしまうためエンジンの搭載が不可欠。エンジンを使うためには、燃料タンクが必要なのだが、これが多くの探索者を挫折させる。

素材を手に入れるために空中戦で敵艦（エビみたいなやつ）を撃沈する必要があるのだが、エンジン未搭載でかつ装甲が薄い船ではかなり難しい。もうちょっと敵艦を弱くするなどの調整すべきでしょう。

もし、無事にエンジンを搭載し、風の壁を越えられるなら、30以上の島があなたを待っています。

Acho que as reviews recentes são no mínimo enviesadas ou tolas. O jogo é o sucessor do Worlds Adrift.
Isso por si só descreve a jogabilidade.
Perder navios, nascer longe em uma ilha nada a ver, progressão lenta... Tudo isso é parte essencial do jogo.

A bossa studios tem tentado adaptar um jogo MMO para uma experiencia single ou multiplayer em pequena escala, é definitivamente uma missão complicada, mas o jogo deve ser julgado pelo que é e pelo que se propõe.

Quer uma experiência rápida, cheia de luzes brilhantes e combates extremos? Saia. Não é sobre isso e nunca foi.

O jogo está longe de estar completo ou otimizado, os desenvolvedores mantém isso claro e nos atualizam constantemente no discord.

A maior ameaça de worlds adrift era o PVP, agora, esvaziado desse sistema pela falta do MMO, o jogo foca em outro aspecto, exploração.

Uma exploração lenta, motivada pela curiosidade e pela lore do novo mundo.
Não é sobre combates constantes e lutas intensas, e sim uma sobrevivência lenta e construção de um navio para chamar de seu. Amigos na jornada servem apenas para compartilhar o sentimento de exploração em conjunto e talvez facilitar alguns combates, não mais focado na necessidade de se agrupar para sobreviver.

De fato, a falta do estilo MMO é enorme, mas o jogo por si só, vale a pena.
Tenha paciência com os bugs que ainda estão sendo resolvidos e com os desenvolvedores que não desistiram desse jogo lindo, suas futuras áreas depois das windwalls e seu mundo belo.

Das Spiel hätte Potenzial, aber es hat einige Performance Probleme und dazu noch etliche echt nervige Bugs. Wenn man in Stacheln fällt in den man sterben sollte, aber stattdessen nur herumtaummelt ohne je wieder heraus zu kommen. Man bleibt unter Geländern am Abgrund hängen, muss sich selbst töten und all dein Loot fällt in die unendlichen Tiefen.

Die Schiffswerft nervt. Die künstlichen Ebenen die entstehen, verhindern teilweise, dass man von einer höheren Ebene seines Schiffs nicht auf eine niedrigere kommt, über eine Treppe.

Und was soll das mit den Rezepten, die man nicht verbrauchen kann und die einem in der Schiffswerft dann die Möglichkeit geben, eben diese Dinge zu bauen. Meine Kisten platzen aus allen Nähten wegen der Rezepte.

Das ist kein 1.0. Das ist 0.123

If you enjoy building your own sky ship and can deal with some minor bugs (the major ones have mostly been fixed) this game is far and above worth the price. It is a work in progress, no doubt, but it is worth the effort and very fun.
