the main story got kind of emotional too!

It is bigger and has a bit of more filler idling around and longer text than a short hike but kind of in this cozy game endless autumn break adventure kind of vibe!

can recommend and the artstyle and animations are very cute!

One thing that impressed me was at cutscenes and transitions the camera and angles were used very creatively!

playtime around 3-4 hours for non completionist

~some characters talk a LOT so if you voice everything it takes a while it is quite a bit of text! but part of the charm!

8/10 recommend, but would be very missed if it did not exist!!

HB月包凑数的小游戏，有汉化补丁，无中文。当时买月包漏发了这个游戏，后面补发了懒得卖就自己玩了。
我对这个游戏的期待是，简单的找物小游戏，自己随便玩一两个小时美美拿个全成就。通关后花了3个小时，拿了一半的成就，发现还有一半在未发售的dlc里。无妨，等发售打折补上就是了。游戏整体比较无聊，典型的杀时间游戏，地图有点大，要是通关后没有查缺补漏的道具真的找不全。剧情很无趣，可能小孩子会玩的开心点。

DLC发售了，一看售价10美刀，子供向游戏卖这么贵，卖给鬼呢。本体76史低38，等dlc打折估计最低也是20往上。这游戏纯纯HB月包陷阱，浪费了我人生的3小时。

I cannot believe the charm of this game. It understands what it wants to do and does it. It does not overstay its welcome and the gameplay evolves enough that you never feel stagnant throughout.

If you love simple, short, indie titles with heart, then you will love Lil Gator Game.

Very cute, funny dialogue sometimes, the dlc is twice as good as the main game, only wish there was about an hour and a half more content in the dlc. Also all the items are pretty cool, some of them share abilities but you can only do so much. If you have 20 dollars on you, get both the main game and dlc, its about an 8 hour experience if youre reading everything (which you should). Main island can be confusing sometimes, but once you identify the landmarks it gets easier.

The fact that my younger brother gifted this game to me makes me emo, it's so cute and I love the story line. Very comforting cozy play. Easy to hop off and play again months later. Definitely recommend for some low stakes chill vibes, with a beautiful soundtrack and fun customizations.

There are very few games that I can describe with the word "Charming" but that is absolutely what this game is. It is the pure essence of childhood wonderment condensed down into a digestible story easily finished in a single sitting. At a mere 6 hours I had the game 100% complete and I enjoyed every second of it. The game is cozy, adorable, and it just oozes charm with it's quirky characters and amazing gameplay. The mechanics are simple and it wears its inspirations on its sleeve but it is a masterclass at condensing down those inspirations to the perfect core elements to make an engaging game that is fun to explore and move around in. And said movement is sublime, play the game yourself but after you do so, go find an any% speedrun. It will not disappoint, the game's movement mechanics are so insanely engaging for being so simple. The music also just really hits somewhere special for me. I don't have the words to describe how perfect it always felt for the atmosphere. It's simple and charming like everything else about the game, but robust and reactive to where you are and who you're talking to making every moment flow seamlessly into the next.

Honestly, an adorable, wholesome little game. The music was nice, especially with it adapting to the areas you walk into, the art style and graphics are pretty simple and vibrant, and adding the simple gameplay mechanics and story, the game practically achieves what it's trying to be, having fun playing in the park.

Definitely recommend if you want a cozy little game to just chill and have some fun with.

A fun time with a cute atmosphere. The side quests are wonderfully goofy and the main storyline has a lot of heart. The only thing that feels like it could have used a touch more variety is the collectathon element. There are so many monsters to break that after a while it lost its shine despite the numerous designs. However, getting 100% is entirely optional and the collecting only needs to be done sporadically to beat the game.

Lil Gator is an infectiously wholesome experience, HOWEVER, it is designed to be potentially a kid's first game, do not expect challenge here.

The game reminds me most of Short Hike, mixed with BotW climbing. You have different melee and thrown weapons, but those are used to break your collectibles, there is no actual combat in the game.
You have some pretty simple and easy time attack race challenges here and there, and you can fall down, making you climb again, but those are the only things you could interpret in this game as "failure states". Thanks to that, the game is not just easy, but basically unlosable, if there wasn't a possibility to fall down unintentionally, I would struggle to even call it a game, more like an interactive adventure kids' story.
You have a limited stamina bar, (with DLC adding something like a mana bar for new items), and it adds a neat sense of progress, yet here's another problem, as after you find all the stamina upgrades, the bar becomes infinite, making a simple game, now almost auto-play. Personally, I don't think it's a great choice, but for a kid's first game, the power trip from such an upgrade must feel great, so I can't be too mad about it I suppose. Luckily, the new bar added in the dlc does not have the infinite upgrade.

The audio visual part of the game is phenomenal, very pleasant color pallette, chariming goofy animations on almost all of the characters in the game, and a cozy soundtrack that only adds to the experience. Sound effects are pretty satisfying too, even if there is no real challenge in the gameplay. Volume mixing was also pretty good, although I played this on a Steam Deck, so maybe some of them are actually loud on headphones.

Story is something you'd expect from the very start of the game, but the ending itself is such a genuine meta message from the devs, basically a love letter to video games, that it actually f***ng melted my old ass heart, as the passion for games is mutual buddy. This may not be my favorite game, especially since it almost doesn't count as one with the lack of failure states, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they got me good, can't be mad at them.

On a discount I think this is worth it, as a one time experience, for the audiovisuals and the wholesome message, at the same time I don't think the game is gonna be too replayable, besides the nostalgia factor. I would love to see more from the devs, after finishing both main game and DLC, there are buckets of passion here, and I would love to see it in another game, where losing is actually possible, so I don't feel like I'm on autopilot for most of it.

整个故事就好像对于逝去的童年的往日重现与惊鸿一瞥，看得人心里暖暖，特别治愈。岛上每一个动物NPC还有主角身边的密友性格人设都设计得很独特很鲜明，主角小鳄鱼很好，朋友们很好，大姐也很好！[spoiler]最后大姐的那番话也像打破了第四面墙，整款游戏都像是大姐为主角、为自己、还有我们玩家献上的一份礼物。[/spoiler]
游戏内在主线全通关后会解锁指引功能，很容易就能把本体的部分全成就。如果打完本体意犹未尽的话还有DLC内容延续主线故事。真的很好玩啊盛情推荐。

Cara, que jogo delícia é esse Lil Gator Game. Eu entrei achando que ia ser só mais um "A Short Hike com jacaré", mas ele me prendeu do início ao fim. É tipo um Breath of the Wild baby, bem baby mesmo: você escala tudo, plana com uma folha de palmeira, escorrega em troncos, nada, destrói decoração com uma espada de brinquedo... e tudo isso com uma animação tão fofa que dá vontade de apertar o bichinho.

A história é simples, mas acerta em cheio no sentimento: o Lil Gator quer chamar a atenção da irmã mais velha que tá ocupada com a faculdade, então ele inventa uma aventura épica pra "salvar" a ilha e fazer ela brincar com ele de novo. É sobre crescer, sobre irmãos, sobre imaginação de criança, e faz isso sem forçar a barra, sem ser meloso demais. Tem momentos que me deixaram com um quentinho no peito e outros que me fizeram rir alto sozinho (as interações com os amigos da ilha são ouro).

Platinar foi tranquilo e prazeroso. Não tem nada missable, nada chato de grind, só exploração gostosa + coletar todos os braceletes (que aumentam a stamina, igual stamina wheel de Zelda) e fazer todas as quests secundárias.
Levei umas 8-9 horas no total pra pegar todos os 41 achievements (contando o base). O último troféu de "enlightenment" com todos os braceletes é bem satisfatório, dá aquela sensação de "terminei tudo mesmo".

Visualmente é um charminho: cores vibrantes, traços cartunescos, animações expressivas. A trilha sonora é relaxante na medida certa, não cansa. E o melhor: o jogo não se leva a sério, abraça totalmente a vibe de "sou um jacarezinho de 8 anos brincando de aventura".

Pontos negativos? É curtinho (principalmente se você for direto pro final, dá pra zerar em 3-4h), e depois que platinou não tem muito motivo pra voltar (a não ser que você queira rejogar só pela vibe mesmo).
O mapa não tem mini mapa de verdade, o que às vezes deixa um pouquinho perdido, mas isso também faz parte do charme de explorar sem pressa.

Resumindo: se você gosta de jogos cozy, wholesome, com exploração leve e coração quentinho, compra sem medo. É daqueles que deixa a gente mais leve depois de jogar. Platinado com carinho e zero arrependimento.

Nota final: 9.5/10
(Perde meio pontinho só pelo tamanho, mas pra mim vale mais que muita AAA de 20h por aí)

There are no elaborate gameplay systems or stunning graphics in Lil Gator Game. It is a purely childish game - not in a condescending or diminutive way, but rather one that focuses entirely on joy instead of complexity.

The game is an open-world adventure filled with cardboard monsters and handmade weaponry, following a young crocodile whose quest has only one goal: to become a hero (and maybe convince their older sister that playing together is still cool). The numerous critter characters the gator encounters across the island mostly serve as excuses for jokes or small gameplay moments. Yet there are so many of them, and their designs are so varied, that they never feel like traditional outposts or quest markers. The world is small, but it is full of purpose and heart. Movement is also quite enjoyable, although the UI could definitely be more polished, especially in the inventory.

The art style is intentionally simple. With crayon-styled dialogue windows and the overall handmade feel of the environments, Lil Gator Game captures the sensation of childhood - when anything around you could become the most exciting game in the world. Even though many of the tasks are essentially fetch quests, the dialogue made me chuckle numerous times. I completed the game over a year ago, and although by the end the characters blur together into a colorful but somewhat indistinguishable group, I still enjoy remembering them.

Lil Gator Game is the first title since A Short Hike that truly translates the joy of exploration and the feeling of being a kid again into a video game. It is a short and youthful adventure that captured my heart with vibrant characters and an endearing story.

やさしいちびっこワニの物語に癒されました。4時間ほどで全キャラ発見とイベントをクリアしました。(DLC除く)
最後は不覚にも泣けてきて良かったです。
山肌を登ったり盾サーフィンができるのがブレスオブザワイルドっぽいです。お手軽で気楽にオープンワールドが楽しめて面白かったです。

The pretend-play nature of the story is quite fun.
The gameplay is simple but fun enough for the short run time.
and it scratches the collectathon-itch well.

But really what sets this game apart is it's simple, cozy, childlike charme.

Highly recommend if you are into that sort of thing.

Adorable little cozy game, where you play as a lil gator - make friends, kill enemies (cardboard drawings), and go on many quests befitting a lil hero. The DLC really holds up as well - overall highly recommend.

like a less tight but way more featured and more sweetly written A Short Hike. Lil Gator Game is really touching and all the items are clearly the devs following what they find fun to program. the DLC's big issue for me is the underground is pretty hard to navigate-- they try to make distinct zones and markers that guide you between them, but fail-- but the writing is even better and i love all the things it adds.

Went digging for gold, and found this diamond. 100% the game (non DLC) in about 3 hours, and enjoyed myself every step of the way. The game is somewhat a cross between animal crossing and the legend of zelda, with it coming together into one of the most peaceful games I've ever played. 10/10

Very cute open-world adventure as seen by a little kid (I mean, a little gator) trying to have fun with his friends while enacting a very personal plan.

The gameplay is easy and light-hearted, and the story is kinda touching. Recommended for all ages and especially for people learning to navigate a 3D game world, getting used to a controller or new to the basics of modern games - like controlling the camera with the second analog stick.

Also, one of the characters clearly has ADHD, so I feel represented.

A laid back, charming collectathon with super fun traversal controls that really surprised me. The game plays very fluidly despite it's funny ragdoll physics and so moving around the game world collecting scraps while upgrading equipment was a ton of fun.

On top of this was a bunch of anthropomorphic characters who were written far better than I ever would have expected and themes such as loneliness and adulthood were conveyed really thoughtfully.

This game is a bit of a gem, and definitely worth about 8 hours of your time.

Highly recommend. It's happy, sad, inspiring and hopeful all wrapped up in an adorable little game about a gator goin on an adventure with their friends. I wish I could replay both the base game and the dlc for the first time again, 'cause it's one hell of a slice of nostalgia I would love to see again and again!

I haven't even played for two hours but I can confidently say that even if the game turns to ♥♥♥♥ after this, it will still have been worth every cent. No game has ever made me smile and just feel free of worries for every single second of playtime like this one omg
(for reference i am a stressed, overworked physics student. It's not easy to make me smile or not worry for a bit haha)

Both the base game and the DLC were so fun. I'd get lost exploring, collecting stuff, meeting NPCs... I don't think there's something negative I can say about them

And please, release the DLC soundtrack!

TLDR: Lil' Gator Game is better than RDR2, takes up almost no storage, has a very short yet compelling story, and has an excellent art style, but is a little pricy for the games length.

This game is very casual and short, so if you are looking for a peaceful 4-8 hours of gameplay I would get this game. It takes up less than ONE HALF OF A GIGABITE, so if you are lacking storage, then have no fear. The art style is very simplistic and cute, which makes it look almost like a children's cartoon (ex: Bluey). The story is VERY charming and wholesome, and may or may not have made me cry, in a manly way. The "combat has zero stakes, ad isn't really combat (you hit stationary cardboard cutouts with sword adjacent items). The movement is very fun, and can get extremely fast if you know what your doing. One of the best ways I've heard this game described is "Breath of the wild for Neurodivergent people".

Lil' Gator Game is the best game I have ever played. I first tried it through gamepass in February of 2025. I immediately fell in love. It was sadly taken off gamepass on April 1 of that year. I was very close to 100%, but I was never able to achieve that goal. Earlier this week I saw that a DLC for this game had become available, so I bought the game + DLC for full price, and I have been loving it. This game is so good. It is better than rdr2, Mafia, BTD6, Star wars: Jedi fallen order + survivor, Ultrakill, or any other game I have played to this day. I STRONGLY recommend this game to whoever can afford it. (This game may be the BEST GAME EVER, but it is a lil' pricy for the length since the main game takes less than 10 hours. [It would really take less than 5 hours if you you aren't slow]) I have yet to complete the DLC, but so far it is just as good as the main game. I would recommend getting the game if it's on sale.
