super fun arena/movement shooter for crackheads who need an insane amount of stimuli to have fun.
very simple premise, but extremely challenging. trying for a high score is addicting, sat for 2 hours straight just quick restarting after every run to keep trying. needs A LOT of mechanical skill to climb the global leaderboard.
360 degree sensory awareness is very fun and satisfying when you learn how to react to all the information being thrown at you

Acid trip FPS that somehow makes complete logical sense to my autistic ass brain. SO. MUCH. DOPAMINE. Recently got a 100+ score which was pretty good! Would recommend if you like dopamine.

hyper demon seems like a very gimmicky game on the surface, but the moment you get into it, it becomes immediately apparent the intentionality of every minute decision the developers made.
the 180-360 degree spherical vision starts out as a quirky novelty, only further contributing to the constant blizzard of sensory overload. However, as you continue to play, your brain begins to seamlessly decode this insane field of view + rear-view overlay, and it quickly becomes a necessary asset for keeping up with the storm of enemies all simultaneously trying to kill you (I really recommend 180 FOV).
the enemy design is perfect. Mastering hyper demon enemy-prioritization is extremely difficult because everything can be non-threatening and meaningless in one moment, and your absolute #1 priority the next. Controls are also fantastic, and every action you can take seamlessly synergizes with another series of actions, leading you to develop an expansive repertoire of strategies to clear out enemies more efficiently.
at its core, hyper demon is less about surviving (as opposed to its predecessor, devil daggers), and more about killing as much stuff as possible. With the scoring system, (where you're constantly losing points and need to kill to keep it up) replay system, quick reset, and almost 'clip farming' culture of the game, youre encouraged to constantly disregard your safety to take insane risks. playing it safe is not playing at all (+ you look cooler when you send clips/runs to your friends).
the last thing worth mentioning about this game is that it puts you into a flow state like no other game can. maybe its the fact that you have to constantly be 100% dialed in on the 5+ decisions you make every single second, or the fact that your brain needs to allocate all of its RAM in order to even process whats being beamed into your eyes.
the only flaw with this game is that playing for too long causes the backs of my eyeballs to feel like theyre being waterboarded with sriracha.
Game teaches you nothing and the training section doesn't even work, Nothing happens when you click on the training scenarios and every online tutorial just says something along the lines of "The training scenarios teach you the mechanics of the game, so play those first" but I cant access them so I'm just completely unable to learn how to play. Cannot recommend at this time. Unfortunate because the game looks fun.

Play it. If you liked Devil Daggers, definitely play it. If you haven't played Devil Daggers, maybe play that first. Play them both.
Really fun game. Managed to get Top 1000 (882) on the leaderboard and have only gotten within 50 points since then.
It will take maybe a YouTube video / 2 or 3 demo watches of higher scores to really understand what you should be doing, but once you do, it's a really intense and exceptionally fun experience.

I'm only 30 minutes into playing the game and I already have zero intention of launching Devil Daggers again. Already loved DD but this is something entirely different. The visuals, the incredibly polished feeling, the colors, visual effects, new monsters...it's incredible. Multiple times I've caught myself with my jaw dropped and laughing while trying to not die. Insane acid trip of a game. Looks amazing on an OLED, especially in 720p 720hz.

This is one of the best games I've ever played. Every time I play this game I wonder how did someone make this. who could have ever possible thunk and created such a game. I don't know, I don't think the world could ever know. I don't think god knows. 10/10 game hope Sorath makes another game.

Hyper Demon is a perfect successor to Devil Daggers, It has it's own identity and structure as a game which is extremely fun and engaging, while being somehow more chaotic yet less stressful than the former game.

One of the most graphically unique games in recent memory. Pure-blooded PC shooter with tight controls and DOOM Eternal-like combat. Excited to see what Sorath does next.

Best game ive ever played, its simple straightforward and fun, and you can always improve your own times. Visually it makes me think of tempest, its colorful, intense, and fast, hard to make sense of initially, but once you start playing the visual noise fades away and you see only the things you need to see.

They are not lying. I am at a loss for words. Nothing looks like this game. Nothing plays like this game. Nothing makes you lock tf in like this game.
The store page doesn't lie, it really is an FPS like no other, though I don't feel comfortable in talking about HYPER DEMON as if it was some measly FPS. Sure, it is in the sense that you shoot at crap in the first person perspective, but HYPER DEMON manages to trancend the genre, it really feels more like a puzzle game masterpiece that I would liken to that of Tetris and Puyo Puyo, both games that I spent unhealthy amounts of time in during my childhood, games that I would see dreams about, falling blocks on a rectangular board.
This is what HYPER DEMON is to me, but just in first person, the arena is your board, the enemies- your pieces, your arsenal- the way you place them, it is so simple yet also so very deep.
HYPER DEMON sparks great envy in me as an aspiring developer that I could perhaps never come up with something as perfect as this. This game has changed my entire perspective in how I view game design, and games as art, because as far as game mechanics are concerned, HYPER DEMON is art in it's purest form and in turn makes you an artist inside the game, the world is your canvas, the enemies- your paint and your arsenal- your brushes. Even though the game is simple, everything in it is so meticulously designed, combined with an audiovisual experience that doesn't even feel like it belongs in our dimension and it makes me convinced that Sorath is not even of this Earth.
I still haven't "beat" the game and I feel like I still have a long way to go, but this game pushes me to keep going, everytime I hit a new highscore and that female voice jingle comes I just get a rush that no other game can give me anymore, even though I only got better by 0,12 seconds. I never thought an fps could make me experience the Tetris effect, yet as my closed eyes bring me to the land of dreams, I do see the red crystals and incomprehensible golden monsters scurrying upon a plane of existence that can only be described as liquid nothingess

Arena boomer-shooter on acid, it's hard to describe how satisfying it is to play, learn, find strategies and improve until you unlock that single, incredibly hard to get achievement... and beyond that, the strive for personal best and leaderboard climb.
The game has a simple premise and a flawless execution, fantastic mechanics, beautiful player skill expression.
With Devil Daggers, one of my favorite indie games ever made.
P.S. Everything's much easier to understand and follow when you're the one playing, don't be discouraged by the videos.

Hyper Demon is a blast to play and also a blatant reminder of how video games are an art form.
Always sucked at FPS games till this game forced me to get better at them. Five hours in and I'm realizing major mistakes I've always made for years. Very simple, very challenging, very elegant. Probably one of the most well designed shooter games I've ever played.

Playing this game makes me enter a trance. I don't think when I play this game, I just do ♥♥♥♥ instinctively. I only register what I saw and did AFTER I have already done it. It feels like every part of this game was specifically designed to overstimulate your senses. It's all so much that when you're actually playing the game there's no room to think about anything else apart from what you're seeing and hearing in the game. This game is awesome. Buy it, play it.

once the game clicks you really do enter a flow state. I got fixated on getting my score higher and higher. I can do better. Just one more run.

Купил по скидке, игру не понял. Дизайн и звуки прикольные. Есть ошибки в туториале например тот же уворот (dodge) нужно нажать 2 раза пробел, а не 1 как написано в подсказке. Слишком маленькая задержка между быстрой стрельбой и дробовым выстрелом, часто он просто его не делает когда нажимаю лкм 1 раз. Я так понял пвп тут нет либо я не нашел. Короче не моё - удалил
in less than 4 hours I hit the top 16k in the scoreboards, imo this game is just an LSD acid trip reskin of Devil daggers, with minor dlc added in.
This game is sick. I couldn't tell what was going on in the trailer. But its actually really intuitive when you're playing. I'm addicted to the high score sound effect now. Easy recommend.
