Rather than simplifying hospitality management into abstract systems, the game leans hard into granular realism, asking players to think like architects, interior designers, human resource managers, marketers, and financial planners all at once. Its core appeal lies in the promise of complete creative and managerial freedom, allowing players to shape hotels from the ground up while navigating the economic realities of the service industry.

The game begins modestly, with players inheriting or constructing a relatively small property that must be expanded into a profitable operation. From the earliest moments, Hotel Giant 2 emphasizes customization and control. Rooms must be carefully laid out and furnished, not just for visual appeal but for functionality and guest satisfaction. A good premise, obviously, and what looks like a really detailed interface to get into to tailor the hotels just as you want them.

But it seems to be buggy - there are tasks pertaining to specific parts of hotels that customers simply stop going to for no discernible reason. I think there's like a momentum sort of gameplay thing? That just cuts out at times if you close for renovation and doesn't seem to start up. Also it can take a super long time to make up a shortfall caused by renovation, and after a while (after I'd recouped almost 100k of costs) something changed and having made 100k on my rooms I just started losing it all again, as people stopped coming to the hotel. If you get better at room management you can avoid this to an extent, but it's a game whose engine has weird things happening below the surface that it's not clear how to remedy, because I think some of the things shouldn't be happening. All in all, not fit for sale.

This is the worst sim building game I have ever seen, why is it so weird about where I can place things? I can't place a bed near a wall, or even in the middle of the guest room, I have to place it NEXT TO THE DOOR?! This was AFTER I had to spam click the door and then spam click the wall, it wouldn't add the door to the room... Very clunky.

Wiele osób wspominało, że w grze wywala jakieś "Chińskie znaczki", że gra nie działa itd. Faktycznie, przy pierwszym uruchomieniu były jakieś problemy. Z tego co pamiętam przeszedłem do ustawień graficznych i widziałem tylko te "znaczki". Dało się jednak zmieniać ustawienia. Przestawiłem chyba pierwsze dostępne ustawienie (rozdzielczość?) na pierwszą dostępną opcję (widząc tylko te znaczki) i gra zaczęła wyświetlać się prawidłowo. Po tej zmianie przez 6 godzin gry nie zauważyłem żadnych innych problemów. Myślę, że to wysoka rozdzielczość w domyślnych ustawieniach była problemem, ale przecież do takich gier nie wraca się dla grafiki. Naprawdę wciągająca gierka.

Fun game. Great game play experience except for a few glitches. As others have noted, as soon as you start the game you may need to go to the settings and change the settings for the brightness of the light if you don't want a glow so bright that you cannot see the graphics. Also, the game should be saved often because of an error that shuts the game down abruptly sometimes.
Still, the game is fun overall, but can be challenging to address the "room is too small" complaints from guests unless you want to make rooms so big that there isn't enough room to make a lot more guest rooms, sub rooms, or businesses within the hotel.

This is a mixed review. It is good and it is bad. The good is in the concept and the type of ideas that you would hope to see in a game of this genre. It has good options for room variations and decorations. It has the parts that make up an in depth game with a tutorial, campaign, and a sandbox mode. It has a lot of settings available for personal customization. It has in depth management systems.

The problem now is that all of the aforementioned is clunky. The key bindings are odd...but functional. I mentioned a lot of settings. When I tried to adjust the resolution, which I was able to do, but an issue with the mouse hand getting stuck ensues and you have to bring up the task manager to get out of the game. The plus side to that if you go back into the game after pulling up the task manager, the mouse hand will become functional again. So, there is a work around. The tutorial is pretty well detailed. Takes you through some steps and gets you going.

Where I caution potential buyers is that you will need to decide if you will want to spend the extra time dealing with the clunkiness when there are so many other games of better quality available. I really want to get into this game, but it feels like it pushes me out of playing longer simply because you wasted so much time working through the clunky parts which is largely due to poor optimization. Also, to consider, I have not even made it to the depths of the management side yet because I'm moving through it so slowly with the clunkiness. However, I am drawn in enough that I am not ready to give up on the game. I think that once I get used to the controls and become well acquainted with its quarks, I think I would really enjoy the game and there is not another like it available as far as I know. This is a sequel, so, obviously there are older models of this specific genre, but I'm not sure that there is anything available other than a House Flipper style hotel management game that has mixed reviews.

I would say if it is really your thing, you will probably find it worth your while, but get it on sale!

Se você gosta de projetar interiores, o Hotel Giant 2 vai entretê-lo por horas. Pena que não há mais nada a fazer além de colocar itens caros nos quartos.

Se você gosta desses tipos de jogos de simulação e gerenciamento pesados, a Nobilis preparou um pacote potencialmente atraente para você por um bom preço.

É verdade que este jogo é uma joia em seu gênero - você não encontrará um simulador de gestão hoteleira melhor sem muita pesquisa - mas não estou dizendo que este é um jogo perfeito sem espaço para melhorias.

J'aurais aimé pouvoir vous donner une critique constructive de ce jeu, mais faudrait-il encore pouvoir y jouer. Lorsque vous débutez une partie vous avez l'immense joie de tomber sur un écran blanc qui en plus de vous détruire les yeux vous empêchent de voir le jeu. Was hatte ich damals Spaß im Game Hotel Giant 2 .
Hotel Giant 1 und 2 sind für mich bis heute die besten Hotel Simulationen auf dem Markt.
Es gibt so viel Einstellungsmöglichkeiten, um sein Hotel erfolgreich zu führen, es macht aber auch riesig Spaß
die Gäste einfach nur zu beobachten. O. k. ich gebe zu dass ich nicht sicher bin ob ich es für 8 Euro gekauft hätte, da ich meist enttäuscht bin wie schlecht die alten Simulation auf neuen Systemen laufen.
Was soll ich sagen Hotel Giant 2 läuft auf Windows 11 wie geschmiert.
Ich habe jetzt 1,59 € bezahlt, hätte aber auch 8 Euro für die Simulation hingelegt, wenn ich sicher gewesen wär dass sie anständig läuft.
Es gibt ein paar Kleinigkeiten die man beachten sollte um die Einstellung der Auflösung zu ändern.
Aber es startet wirklich ohne Probleme, und man kann sofort loslegen.
Für alle Simulationsfans eine 100-prozentige Kaufempfehlung,
und ein großes danke für dieses tolle Update vom 1.1.2024.
Schade das ist für die Speditionssimulation "Der Planer" nicht auch so ein Update zu Verfügung steht.

Nach Installation ohne weiteres kein Start möglich da erst manuell msvcr110.dll-Datei heruntergeladen und in das Verzeichnis installiert werden muss. Unglaublich, dass dieses Produkt so verkauft wird.
Habe nach 49 Std. Spielzeit keinen Unterschied von Hotel Giant 1 und 2 feststellen können. Keine Verbesserungen, nur rechteckige Zimmer und keine Variablen möglich. Keine Verbindungstüren zwischen zwei Zimmer möglich, Grafik alles andere als gut. Neu ist allerdings das sich jetzt Gegenstände tw. nur schwer an den Ort anbringen und verschieben lassen, da Maus tw. keine Reaktion zeigt.
Keine Ahnung was sie die Macher von Teil 2 gedacht hatten. Grafikauflösung etwas aufpolieren und alle die mit Teil 1 zufrieden waren, den gleichen trash als Teil 2 "andrehen"?
Hatte das Spiel vor Jahren gespielt und habe es jetzt neu auf Steam gekauft. Ist eigentlich etwas für behagliche Menschen, die keine Lust auf Zeitstress haben und in Ruhe, ohne Zeitdruck etwas aufbauen wollen, aber es funktioniert halt nicht wirklich. Dabei ist es völlig egal auf welcher Grafikeinstellung.
Nach 49 Std. Spielzeit hatte ich mit Mühe und Geduld viele Zimmer errichtet. Nachdem ich aber die Bar fertig hatte und diese auch schon gut angelaufen ist, stürzt das Game jetzt nach wenigen Sekunden ständig ab und ist nicht mehr spielbar! Noch zwei Stunden versucht Fehler zu finden, aber nichts mehr zu machen und werde ich dann deinstallieren müssen!

Geld- und Zeitverschwendung und somit nicht zu empfehlen!

Hotel Giant 2 is an ancient game from 2010. It's a whopping 14 years old at the time of this review. The game lacks support for the typical features of modern gaming PCs, hasn't been modernised or updated to run smoothly on contemporary machines. The game looks and feels dated. Despite this lack of modernisation, it carries a pretty high price tag for such an old game. This seems to have be lingering on Steam with an inflated price to try profit from abandonware.

It's a hotel tycoon game as the name says, build and manage hotels, sort out the facilities, attract guests, balance the chequebooks... these games can work quite well and be very popular if they're implemented well. Which this isn't.

On the upside, the game does feature customisable controls and resolution, so at least some of the basic, minimum requirements have been met. Unfortunately there's a number of other technical defects and shortcomings which contribute to the game being difficult to recommend to gamers.

From my experience with the game, it's somewhat bug riddled and has design/implementation/stability problems that will render this unplayable for many gamers. There's a lot of issues with stability, poor compatibility with modern builds of Windows 10/11... it can be a challenge to even get the game to run, and the developer shows no interest in maintaining the game (but they do want your money!)

These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

You don't have to take my word about how bad the game is, we can measure the interest in a game by how much people bothered to play it. Hotel Giant 2 has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game absolutely failed to capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for building a nice restaurant, trivial to achieve, but less than 8 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. That's a tiny, tiny proportion of gamers who even bothered with this. Ouch.

The game never really caught on with the millions of gamers on Steam, with a very low peak player count close to launch, and then just a handful of players launching this game every couple of days. This is undoubtedly caused by factors such as those raised in this review. It's always helpful with buying decisions to consider how popular and successful the product is, and unfortunately while this did accumulate a few participation trophy reviews, overall, people just aren't using it.

So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?

Hotel Giant 2 is relatively expensive for an abandonware nostalgia gouge, at $8 USD, and it's not worth it. The game is just too old, hasn't been modernised. And as the old saying goes, you can't go home again.

For comparison, the $8 asking price for this game could get you games like "The Witcher 2", "Batman: Arkham Asylumn" or "Shadow Warrior". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this.

Napiszę krótko... totalna porażka. Grałem kiedyś w "jedynkę" i miałem z tego sporo frajdy. Nowa odsłona tej gry jest po prostu niegrywalna. Miejscami jakieś przejaskrawienia obrazu do takiego stopnia, że nic nie widać. Musiałem zbliżać maksymalnie kamerę, żeby cokolwiek zobaczyć i to też tylko pod pewnymi kątami kamery. Na szczęście kupiłem w przecenie za niecałe 6 zł. Nie polecam!

Es hat zwar den Charme der Späten 1970 frühen 1980 Jahre vom Design her, ist dennoch nicht uninteressant. Man muss als Spieler verschiedene Faktoren beachten, als Beispiel Zimmer Größe, Preis, Qualität der Einrichtung, Personal, Fix Kosten im Monat... , dann kommt noch die Entscheidung dazu ob man Personal Weiterbildet oder nicht, sowie Werbung ebenfalls nicht zu Unterschätzen ist. An den Entwickler es wäre nett wenn ein DCL mit Grafischen update der Gegenstände in die Heutige Zeit geben würde, bzw. bessere Gegenstände wie den Schreibtisch geben würde, den meine geste beschweren sich über diesen, obwohl ich in Jeden Zimmer den Teuersten habe den es in diesem Spiel gibt. Falls es Mods gibt mir bitte schreiben würde die gerne ausprobieren. Danke für Eure Zeit

Etant un ancien de joueur de Hotel Giant 1, il est clair et net que le 2 apportes du mieux au niveau graphisme (couleurs, effets LED, objets plus dans l'air du temps (2010) et plus que Hotel Giant 1.

Cependant, cette Hôtel Giant 2, apporte avec un gros problème d'ergonomie dans le placement des différents objets, éléments qui composerons vos pièces ainsi qu'un énorme problème dans le management et la conception de vos pièces (chambres, restaurants, bar, café...).

En effet, dans le Hôtel Giant 1, il n'y avait pas forcément besoin de faire des toilettes à tout bout de champs pour satisfaire les clients. (plaintes à répétitions, car manque de toilettes Femmes et Hommes dans le café, le bar, la piscine...) Il aurait était préférable de pouvoir créer des toilettes (commodités) dans l'hôtel comme pièce unique au lieu dans devoir poser partout. Il s'agit d'un hôtel pas d'un Rez de chaussé avec un énorme bar, d'un second étages avec un énorme café, et un troisième étages avec un énorme restaurant, et au quatrième une piscine avec encore des demandes de toilettes et vestiaires... Techniquement l'échelle des pièces à construire avec tous ces éléments et trop grande pour 1 étage d'hôtel.

La dimension de certain éléments son devenus 2x plus gros (les tables de chevets sont trop grosses), par rapport à Hôtel Giant 1.

De gros problème d'ergonomie dans la pose d'objets sur les tables par exemples. Poser un bureau ne sert à rien car on ne peut rien poser dessus (pourtant dans Hôtel Giant 1 c'était possible...).

Gros problème dans le niveau de classification des chambres à coucher (Economique, Normal, Luxe I et II, Suite).
Dans Hôtel Giant 1, le niveau était basé sur le nombre d'objets coûteux, de la décoration (luxueuse et service proposés) et du nombre de couchage ou type de couchage ainsi que de la taille de la chambre.

Dans Hôtel Giant 2, la classification des chambres ne se fait que par la grandeur en surface m² des chambres. Les objets posés dedans ensuite, ne comptabilise plus le niveau de classification (augmentation Ou diminution). Donc on se retrouve avec des chambres économiques (entre 30m² et 50m²) le client vous demandera: Un coffre, un minibar, une penderie pour 4 personnes, un miroir de beauté et une corbeille de fruit...
Sauf que la chambre (économique) et pour 1 personne à 90$ la nuit. Même à ce prix la dans la vraie vie pour du Première Classe ou Fast Hôtel il n'y a pas de coffre fort ou de minibar et encore moins de corbeille de fruits...

La satisfaction clientèle et sa réclamation son totalement invraisemblable dans ce deuxième opus...
A corrigé rapidement, car, on est très loin du réel.

Donc on se retrouve avec des chambres normal à +80m², des chambres luxueuses qui vont prendres un demi étage de place à construire pour 140m²... Autant vous dire que même 8 étages ne vous suffirons pas.

BE CAREFUL!

I owned the original Hotel Giant on CD rom, but never had Hotel Giant 2. The recent sale reduced this game to little over £1, just under $2. Seemed like a good opportunity to try it out.

Be careful about buying games like this one, you are playing a game that is by modern standards, very much outdated, the UI is bad, the controls are awkward,as such, this game bought me nowhere near as much joy as it did back in the day, when spectacular games like Skyrim didn’t exist. I’ve not reached even an hour on Hotel Giant 2, but it’s already uninstalled.

It’s good that these old games are worked on to make them playable on modern machines; otherwise hundreds of timeless games could be lost forever. The HD remaster… isn’t really that impressive. No HD textures, no HD models, it still has that grainy look about it, but perhaps having the choice of original or modern standards of texture upscaling, might have worked better.

I didn't notice any severe glitching or crashing while playing, like described by other reviews. It may have been fixed and updated, but I can only speak for myself on my own system.

Conclusion 5/10

Nostalgia is for most part the driving force behind purchases like this, but nostalgia if I wasn’t careful, I would spend countless dollars on random, cheap nostalgic games.

Nostalgia has become a huge business in recent years, retro, vintage, words that never really existed back when games like Hotel Giant were around. Buying a game like this is buying into this business. It’s cool, a nice throwback, but be prepared to be disappointed. Unless you love this game so much, please, SAVE YOUR MONEY, towards that $60 game that you really want. Better to play a few games for 100 hours than just for the sake of it.

I’m just glad I spent £1.11 instead of £5.50.

Got it on sale for $1.59 and still feel ripped off. Steam said I somehow played more than 2 hours when this game was almost unplayable. I didn’t have known issues with the white lighting but then again couldn’t get far since all the pieces I kept trying to move that the game said I could place would never let me place in certain areas or without closing the option to move it and reopen the option multiple times. After moving 1-3 other items I could no longer move a different object without closing and reopening the option to move objects. Can’t even add doors to hotel rooms, menu prices can’t be changed by setting a price. Can’t move the elevator location, no food option for buffet. I know it’s an older game and the HD update made the game decent to look at and even some newer games look worse but if you want a game you can customize colors or choose decorations or turn to match then your out of luck.

Acheter avec le pack Industry Giants et Transport Giants. Le jeu ne marche pas, clignotement en haut de l'écran et écran blanc. Le dernier défaut est réglable en modifiant les paramètres d'affichage mais le clignotement sur le tiers haut de l'écran continue et rend le jeu injouable. Non remboursable car j'ai joué 4 heures sur Industry Giants avant. Le non fonctionnement de Hotel Giants par steam n'est visiblement pas un problème pour Steam.
Moral de l'histoire : ne pas acheter de packs chez steam ou contrôler le lancement de tous les jeux du pack avant de commencer à jouer.

I loved the first game of Hotel Giant when it was on CD Years ago I'm so glad i got this on discount Id Rather spend my money on a actual HOTEL Then this game, but at-least they tried, i might play this again every now any then if the in hope they fix screen options, i was literally dizzy from the background when trying to sort out the settings to discover theirs no option to turn off full screen nor a screen setting to change to for my current screen size.
i would not recommend this game but if your feeling adventurous PLEASE get a discount.

Okayish game but still fun in some way.

If you had Problems like when you start, it gets completly white as soon as you select something then turn the grafics to the minimum than it works perfectly, havent had any issues since.

Played it before outside steam and it is still as i remembered .... in a good and bad way :D it kills some time for sure and is at least something different to play now and then.

Beim Start hängt es sich öfter auf, dann muss man eben einmal das Spiel neustarten, die Grafik lässt sich leider nicht hoch einstellen, da der Bildschirm sonst völlig überhellt ist. Sonst aber eine gute Simulation ohne Knkurrenz.

今更ですけどWindows10 Proで起動してみましたが駄目ですね。
画面が真っ白に光ってて駄目です。
ズームでかなりカメラを寄っていけば白いのが消えますがこれではまともプレイ出来ません。
オプションのグラフィック回りも触ってみましたが改善しません。
プレイ目的では買っちゃいけないゲームかな。

Hey guys, sorry for my bad English. I just want to tell you guys my experience. I have just downloaded this Hotel Giant 2 and played it. At first, when read all the comments, I had a little confuse and worry. Because a lots of people said they cannot play the game. My laptop gaming is MSI and run Win 10. I love this game so much when I was young, so I decided buy it and think about take a risk if the game cannot run too. But lucky for me, the game run very good, but at first, the game will out about 4-5 times before the main menu appear, but I just click icon on the 'taskbar' to go in back again and again about 4 or 5 times. When the main menu appeared, everything is good - no out game anymore. Another thing to mention is The screen will be Glow, you guys just need "turn off" the Glow option (from "low" to "off") and now you can enjoy the game!! No problem!
