I love this game, owned it for so long, played it for a while, but I cant play the Original anymore, and I'm guessing that it is due to Windows 11, it makes me sad to see this game sit on my shelf with dust covering it, and it makes me sad that people hate on it just for how it plays, its a great game!

Took almost 4 hours of playing around to figure out how to map an xbox controller to be close to arcade style easy like GTA. Aside from that, the game is extremely difficult to complete even a single mission without dying at least 20 times. Nearly every enemy grouping kills me multiple times. No homing missles, and flying is incredibly difficult to control. I had high hopes, and the game could be so much better, but honestly, don't bother wasting your money.
I don't know what's up with the negative reviews for this game. I think people were expecting more out of it than it is. It plays like a simple low graphic(but not too low), arcade style shooter that does a good job at mimicking an ongoing war simulation. A large variety of helicopters to choose from, with the relevant missions associated with combat helicopters. I haven't played it much yet, but I can already tell it's way more than the simple old school "STRIKE" helicopter clone I was looking for. It's not complicated, but it has plenty of uncomplicated variation.
Like I said, it's more than I was expecting to find when I went looking for something that was similar to any of the <InsertYourFavHere>Strike games of yore..

If you can get this on sale for $5, I would say it is worth it.
There is a tech tree in which you can unlock other helicopters to use and different weapons for them, but they can only be used on 2 levels for each generation of aircraft. There are 8 levels, 2 for each generation, you cannot use your newly unlocked helicopters on previous levels, so your gen 4 helicopters are stuck on 2 maps only.
There are 4 main objectives that get pretty boring pretty quick
1: destroy tanks or solders at some point~ around 5 total things to blow up
2: capture a point
3: pick up solders from one point and bring them back to base
4: deliver cargo to one base
The gameplay loop is to spawn in a transport helicopter, capture all the bases pretty easily, then do the objectives. Often means flying to base, pick attack helicopter to clear out enemies at an ambush, then fly all the way back to switch to transport again, pick up wounded infantry, fly back to base to drop them off and repeat.
When it comes to having to deal with infantry, good luck finding them. They are all hidden in bushes and you have to wait for them to shoot first so you can follow the tracers. The manpad (lock on anti-air from enemy infantry) usually has no jet stream, so you will have no idea where you are getting rocketed from, leading to random deaths or spraying 500 rounds into bushes to try and find it.
Using the hellfires on the AH-64 (longbow in game) was the main reason I bought this game, only to find out that the FLIR sight is just a gray filter and makes it even harder to spot infantry, because everything is just gray.
When it comes to online, it does make the experience better than solo, so you don't have to keep flying back to base to switch helicopters. You cannot join a game mid-way through, so you often cannot find a lobby to join as many people don't want to wait 15 minutes or more for people to join.
There is the enhanced version and regular, and from my understanding there is more people playing the regular version, but whenever I try and boot that one up, it just crashes and does not boot. I have tried several times to no avail- so good luck with that.
There are some extra little things that drag the review down as well but I can't be bothered to mention it.
Overall, fine with friends if you can all get it on sale. Helicopter models look nice.
It's a fun little helicopter combat game. So if you want to waste a couple bucks to fly around and grind out the tech tree in a couple of weeks then sure.
Online though is basically dead, the only people still playing are playing the co-op mode. Not to even mention that it has been 4 years or so since the last update.
There are also 2 version of the game in the launcher, the 'enhanced' version and the classic version. Basically everybody plays the classic version instead since a bunch of the changes made in the new version are ass.

- Real quality feels a lot worse than what you see on trailer(not because the trailer fake, but because it's feels completely different when you actually play it)
- Progression is gate kept by online, you cannot unlock new helis by playing single player, but online is dead(0 lobbies)
- Trash level sounds and visual effects for everything
- I'm not against arcade controls, but at this point it's so much plastic that you will regret from installing it, feels like some bad mobile heli game from 2015
This game would be bad and outdated even for 2005, better play Apache: Air Assault from Gajin from those times, it's 100 times better in all manner and graphics is still good.

игра убивает всё настроение, на картах где есть конвои они спавнятся через пару секунд, а если отлететь от серой точки то там магическим образом появляется пехота врага и она (точка) становится вражеской. Цена в 600 рублей не оправдана
Полностью не заслуженно забытая всеми игра с.... живым комьюнити, ну или же его очень хорошо сохранившимися остатками. НО, не смотря на мёртвость игроков, небольшой онлайн всё таки присутствует, мне даже старожилы посоветовали что качать, а это уже говорит о том что хоть и мало людей, но новичкам всегда рады, и это не может не радовать, такое вообще редко встречается если честно. Поэтому кидаю уважуху этим людям. Ну и вот насчёт геймплея ребята не поскупились, выполнять задачи трудненько но потом привыкаешь.
Также хочу сравнить этот проект с такой не без известной игрой как War Thunder, да да, ведь в тундре тоже есть вертолётные бои АКА вертолётное ПВЕ, что можно сказать про тундровский режим: Скука которая длится часами, мой друган там остался на 4 часа, то есть отыграл весь бой, и не исследовал даже одну модификацию, тут же прокачивать вертолёты проще, намного проще. Но сама суть должна быть в геймплее так ведь? Да, геймплей мне понравился тем что тут используются грузовые вертолёты, тупо летающие фуры которые ещё и пехоту перевозят, в тундре же такого нету, пехоты нет. Также насчёт гейм дизайна, тут нет особо карт где тупо пустыня пустынь, поля полей, и дальше по списку. Локации очень интересно облетать, а в горах Афганистана можно и в гору врезаться. И это всё сделала инди студия энтузиастов вроде как.

Як казав, один пєтєрбуржський куколд "ВЄЄЄЄЄЄЄЄРТАЛЬОТІКІІІІІ". Власне, гра дуже не реалістична, невистачає флейвору (від банального вміння прибирати шасі, до хоча б якоїсь різноманітності). Можна пограти і повтикати, але очікувати чогось прям Вау не варто. Ставлю рекомендую, бо де-факто одна єдина така гра, з казуальним симулятором вєртальотіков

어렵지만 익숙해지면 재미있기는 한데 포인트 모아가지고 헬기 구매하고 업그레이드 하고 해야해서 귀찬아요.
인헨스드 에디션에서 멀티방이 없다시피하고 일반 헬리본해야 멀티방 그나마 있음.
일반판이나 인헨스드 연동이라 어디서 구매하던 헬기 양쪽다 이용가능하고요.
헬기 구성이 정찰/공격/수송 요래 나뉘는데 요거 알아내는 것도 시간좀 걸렸고, 박격포/RPG/지대공 요런것도 있고...
롱보우 fcr달려있는데 정찰헬기 겸용해야하는거 아닌지...

Got this on sale for $5.99 after being on my Wishlist for a year. I was really excited to play it because I'm a huge helicopter enthusiast. I grew up playing flight sims and have played just about every flight game that has come out in the last decade or more. I really appreciate that it is fully controller compatible and able to customize key bindings. While I also appreciate the mechanics and work that went in to the helicopters themselves, the gameplay is seriously lacking and overall, extremely frustrating. This game is very slow paced and honestly, reeeeallllly boring. So much so that I just zone out flying from one objective to another and start watching IASIP in the background while waiting for my helicopter to traverse the map. Spotting enemies is a nightmare: you're at 25% health before you can engage enemies, they're not marked on the minimap after being spotted, and splash for weapons is horrible (you have to land DIRECT rocket hits directly on the little enemy dots to get kills). Only getting three helicopters per mission is such a bummer because you literally have to grind for HOURS to upgrade or get new ships, and truthfully, they all suck for one reason or another. Also...mission times are 5 mins or less and these are helicopters- which, by nature- do not move fast at all. There are glitches with the PS-47 that do not launch flares, so I'm always getting shot down by anti-air missiles. This game must be past its prime because there are no online players anymore, which is fine, but the "campaign" missions need MAJOR upgrades and to be completely re-worked. I've put in 16 hours and I'm legit over it. This game is also the only game in my Steam library that causes my PC to lock-up, freeze., and need a hard restart. Obviously, this could be my PC, but I've not experienced this on much more robust games like RDR2, BF6, etc. on high settings. So yeah, it leads me to believe it is just purely this game, which is pretty bad because it is just slightly better than potato graphics outside of the helicopters. I'll keep it around for when I'm extremely, extremely bored, but yeah...this is a < $5 game overall and I would not recommend unless you're an aviation enthusiast, incredibly patient, and it's basically free on Steam. Fortunately, it's only 10GB, so I can remove it from my PC and re-download it quickly if I ever get bored again. But I'll probably just go back to Ace Combat and skip this one.

игра хорошая , полеты на аркадных вертолётов 60х и 2000 годов сойдет для любителей аркады но при этом сервера мертвые и ай бог можно будет сыграть хотя бы с 1 игроком но благо можно играть против ботов в том числе и вместе с друзьями против ботов .

I see a ton of negative reviews for this game... but I think the majority of them miss the point of the game. This game is not meant to be to the likes of DCS... this is a shooter game in all essence. This game isn't supposed to have super realistic simulation, it is about shooting the living crap out of others. I love this game for that aspect. It is super dynamic and has great PvP and single player game. The progression system is great as well.

This game never quite got there.
Controlling the helicopters just feels like crap. There's seeminly no way to override the helicopter pitch from the mouse using the keyboard. Every input just feels sloppy and it's so frustrating to have your helictoper just float to a standstill when attempting highspeed turns. (not it's not a skill issue, I was decent at helicopters in DCS World)
I really appreicate that the EU and US servers are still up, and the game is playable offline but it's really not worth the price tag.

飛行手感還不錯,需要爬線,不過比戰雷簡單多了,PVE自己刷一局大概600星左右(頂級機350星解鎖,隱身機500多),不力求全圖鑑全配置的話很容易刷出想玩的型號,低權就是隨便什麼機火箭刷人頭,高權就是武直遠距離機炮或反坦克飛彈點名(近距離很容易蒸發),PVP不清楚,目前沒什麼人玩,可能要自己找朋友一起玩了
今天測試了一下PVE一權的極限值不算獎章的話大概在1300星,應該比四權搬飛彈有效率

Есть такие игры, которые с нулевой не цепляют. И эта - одна из них.
Не понимаю откуда положительные отзывы.
Описание, куча положительных отзывов и трейлеры, (очень)отдаленно напомнившие мне Ace Combat Assault Horizon предрасположили к себе.
Из лаунчера оригинальная игра не запустилась. Заработало только переиздание, по нему и сужу.
С нулевой - после перезапуска часть настроек слетает(особенно звук). Игра отказывается принимать родную герцовку монитора и автоматически сбрасывает до 75 максимум. Игра 2017 года.
Что там может грузить компьютер в 90% видеокарты и выдавать максимум 75 фпс - не ясно.
Выглядит в лучшем случае как Just Cause 2006-го года, в худшем - мобильные игры.
Одиночный режим - шляпа. Крайне скучное ПвЕ с такими себе миссиями.
Кампанию также лень проходить, но хотя бы из себя что-то представляет.
Какого-либо обучения не было обнаружено, как разблокировать новые вертолеты - не понял.
Нормального управления не ощутил, даже для аркадной игры.
Онлайн даже вечером - нулевой. Как понял, разработчики игру не поддерживают - мертва.
Смысла играть в это просто не вижу. Увы, но рефанд.

Had this game for years, came back years later to see if it improved at all, not the case. YS flight is better than this, and it came out in 1999. I know because I tried it after playing this. What you see in the trailers is not even remotely close to gameplay.

Игра прикольная, вертолёты довольно приятны в управлении и глаз радуют, но из-за того что игра заброшена тут можно увидеть много недочётов, однообразный геймплей и быстро утомляющие миссии где какой то отряд 1000 и 1 раз попадает в засаду. Если бы игра продолжала развиваться и обновляться я уверен что это была бы лучшая игра про вертолёты в целом.

Честно не понимаю за что нахваливают игру.
Начнём с азов - управление. Управление максимально топорное. Даже вкладка "продвинутое управление" не даёт полный контроль над вертолётом. Большинство параметров вообще невозможно настроить полноценно. Механика "жми кнопку - вертолёт летит вверх, жми другую - вниз" вообще бред. Сделайте по-человечески ось "газа" в процентах (для справки разрабам, что сделали игру про вертолёты она называется РШГ). Тангаж/крен/рысканье не ощущаются из-за ограничений, т.е. "бочку" вы сделать не сможете т.к. вертушка просто задерёт нос и всё, крен на градусов 20 максимум, рысканье вообще как двухплоскостной стабилизатор, в секунду поворот и фиксация. Кнопки "висения" нет, зато 100500 кнопок "резкого поворота головы" на все 360 градусов по двум осям. Если вы не вкурсе, то доношу до вашего сведения, что есть кнопка "свободный обзор". Так же нет кнопки "цикличного переключения вооружения" либо ♥♥♥♥♥ колёсико, либо кнопки 1, 2, 3 затыкивай.
Графика нулевых, ну честно, FlatOut2 и симатичнее выглядит и модельки более проработанные и систему меньше грузит.
Геймплей - летай выцеливай пиксели на земле, которые будут снайперски стрелять по тебе на любой дистанции. Возвращаясь к деталям, есть оповещение о пуске ракеты, а ни ракеты ни следа от неё нет. Как таковой кабины вертолёта тоже нет, две палки и прицельная сетка, всё чем стоит довольствоваться.
Игра цепляет либо красивой картинкой, либо механикой, либо атмосферой. Ничего из выше перечисленного тут нет.

Що можу сказати — не вистачає української мови, що трохи засмучує, адже хотілось би бачити рідну локалізацію. Також немає можливості прибирати шасі, і це виглядає дивно для гри, де увага приділяється деталям техніки. Хотілося б, щоб кабіна пілота була більш опрацьованою, з реалістичними приладами та елементами управління.
Втім, якщо говорити про фізику — як для аркадної гри, вона зроблена доволі добре. Польоти відчуваються динамічно, керування приємне, а повітряні бої додають азарту. Грати весело, можна легко залипнути на кілька годин.
Від себе скажу, що Heliborne Collection — це гарний варіант для тих, хто хоче відчути себе пілотом бойового гелікоптера, але без складних систем і довгого навчання. Було б чудово, якби розробники додали українську локалізацію, та більше реалізму в кабіні — тоді гра стала б ще кращою.
Отличная игра, искренне советую всем, кто любит подобные игры. Я бы сказал, это весьма оказуаленный симулятор вертолета, где ты выполняешь не только задания по типу "пиф-паф пиу-пиу", но и доставку пехоты, грузов и много чего еще. Прокачка тоже не отстает, есть много разных камуфляжей. Жалко, что игру забросили - было бы неплохо, если бы на нее делали хотя бы моды
единственная игра в таком жанре. Хорошая проработка вертолетов.

Snaží se (a dost dobře) ukázat roli bitevních vrtulníků na bojišti v arkádovém podání. Základ je skvělý, ale hra mi přijde trochu nedovařená.
Pokud jste fanoušky bojových vrtulníků, tak je tato hra přesně pro vás, protože vyplňuje mezeru na trhu.
По-началу управление кажется сложным. Затем привыкаешь. Игра реально интересная, только вот игроков онлайн - кот наплакал.
Ничего личного, ребята старались, и жанр последние лет двадцать практически пустой. Но в конце девяностых и начале нулевых было огромное количество вертолетных симуляторов и аркад на любой вкус - мне кажется, лучше обратиться к этим забытым играм.
Возможно, я что-то упустил, не опробовав мультиплеер; но синглплеер меня оставил совершенно равнодушным.

Самый лучший симулятор боевого вертолёта онлайн на данный момент. Почему-то игра в забвении без онлайна.
This is one of the best games I've ever played in my 30+ years of gaming. But it feels unfinished. Its so sad that the content is so limited. It really needs expanding. You can play it with a mouse an keyboard or with a full joystick setup. And it feels amazing. Its a super challenging sim and arcade at the same time. You can focus on shooting, or just be a ferry under heavy fire. Really fun on the rare occasion you can find someone to play with. So much wasted potential here. Nothing else comes close to the feel of this game.

İlk çıktığı zamanlarda severek oynadığım bir oyun, şuan ne durumda bilmiyorum aradan 8 yıl geçmiş.

У игры был огромный потенциал. В те времена таких игр на рынке просто напросто не было, да и сейчас нет. Вся проблема оказалась в том, что разрабы практически ноунеймы, а реклама не помогла. Если бы не наш любимый Дед, я бы о ней даже и не узнал. По итогу игра просто загнулась из-за малого количества игроков, разработчики прекратили попытки привлечь внимание и сдались.
После, новые разрабы попытались оживить игру, выпустив Heliborne "Enchanced Edition". Старые игроки вместе с относительным "наплывом" новых пошли туда, однако новая версия для своего времени, чем старая, в которой была атмосфера игр 2000-х. И, конечно, большинство новеньких просто ушло в другие игры, а старые поклонники вернулись в первый Heliborne, в котором по сей день сохраняется небольшая активность.
Сама игра на мой взгляд просто прекрасна, по сравнению с тем же War Thunder она намного проще, но в тот же момент задачи для вертолётов в этой игре куда реалистичнее. Задачи по типу: выгрузить десант, доставить припасы, помочь в обороне базы здесь - обыденность. Главными врагами тут являются крупнокалиберные пулемёты и на поздних картах ракеты земля - воздух, а не самолёты. Ветви развития настолько просты и логичны, что просто не с чем сравнить, а геймплей на разных классах вертолётов действительно отличается. Обучения в игре нет как такового, но зато комьюнити здесь намного дружелюбнее и разнообразнее чем во многих играх. Встретить Эстонца в игре и разговориться с ним на английском - куда проще, чем кажется.(Надеюсь SnakeFinger всё ещё жив и здоров)
Кстати иногда по сговорам ПВП сервер оживает и там твориться хаос.(Просто знайте)
Было бы очень классно, если бы вы, дочитав до сюда продвинули отзыв и комьюнити этой игры. Да, вряд-ли эта игра снова станет популярной, вряд-ли проживёт больше чем 10 лет, но я всё - равно буду играть, и вам советую.
Sehr Funny Game auch wenn es sehr alt ist macht es dennoch Spaß.
Zwar wurde viel verschlechtert als zum Release des Games aber nun ja.
Wenn man dann Lobbys findet oder coop mit Freunden Zockt macht es aber immer noch sehr viel Spaß :D
Allerdings muss man mit den Grafik Einstellungen gerade bei Nacht Missionen etwas experimentieren für stabile FPS^^
