I'm excited about this game, something new for me , this hacking mechanics. Wow
一次时隔十多年的补票，3.89加元买下全系列三部曲还是值的（而且每部原价6.49，十分好奇还有谁会单买）。
最早是本科时了解到了这游戏的学习版，好像还是先入坑的续作Untold（大概因为绿色界面吸引了我吧），所以其实算胡乱玩的，单纯觉得像黑客一样在键盘上敲指令是特别酷的事，而且关卡配图也很赛博朋克风，搞得我反而很喜欢夜深人静空无一人的十字路口/大楼，感觉有一种独特的意境。音乐也很棒，可能是我最早听到的未来风电子乐了，后来我们做液氮相关化学实验时的瞎玩视频也被我加上了Untold里的BGM然后投稿到了B站（刚刚看了，视频还在）。顺便也帮我科普了Linux的命令行操作，为我后来来加拿大读计算化学PhD时熟练掌握UNIX服务器的指令起到了重要帮助，而且现在回坑玩的时候也秒按Tab自动补全，不知道评测中吐槽打字太费事的朋友们是否知道这个功能。
然后说回游戏本身。与其说是黑客游戏，不如说是很硬核的解谜游戏，一方面要在各个服务器翻箱倒柜寻找有用的文件网址密码，另一方面也要为资源的合理分配绞尽脑汁。因为每个服务器只能bounce三次，所以在黑一些安全性低的服务器时使用太多bounce就不划算了，最好是在每次都差点被追踪到之前完成骇入行为。而且每关的钱和trace level是继承的，你在前面不知不觉做的一些浪费操作很可能就会为很后面卡死埋下伏笔，但你又复盘不出到底之前哪里搞错了，那就大概率只能重开了，颇有一种50层魔塔的“打了不该打的怪就要整个重开”的美感——当然如果不想重开也不想手动记录每关的最优指令的话可以使用神秘代码[spoiler]xmoney[/spoiler]来搞点启动资金升级下硬件，省时省心。
所以能预料到很多非硬核玩家不会喜欢这种容错率很低的解谜，那可以去玩Uplink，那个是真的爽，记得我当时玩的时候到最后已经bounce到九曲十八弯了（那里面bounce服务器没有次数限制），好像还从某个任务中获得了几乎无限的钱，然后瞬间就把所有硬件升到最高，但游戏也突然索然无味起来——这和开挂毁游戏大概是一个道理吧。因此对我来说，一方面为了情怀，另一方面也是为了我的硬核游戏精神，现在是时候再把Hacker Evolution系列认真打一遍了。

Not really fun to play with
First things first: This is a graphical minimal game. So is the life of a hacker. you connet to servers, you hide your traces, you manipulate datastreams. But like in reality you type, you type, you type and you even type more linux basic commands.
Enjoyable, more so once I figured out that I can play the entire game by typing, no need for a stupid pointing device. And I like the soundtrack.
Ultimately, I think it's a resource management game.

게임이 즐길수 있는 부분을 확실하게 만들어놓고 그곳으로 들어가면 게임오버를 시키며 처음부터 다시 시킨다. 심지어 그것이 잘못된 선택인지 오랜시간 지난이후에야 알아차릴 수 있으며 게임오버를 몇번이고 반복하고 나서야 잘못된것을 알 수 있게된다.
분명히 '해킹'게임이라면 일종의 온라인 세계를 탐험하는 재미또한 있을것인데, 이를 잘못된것으로 규정하는듯한 불쾌한 게임플레이.

It has been some time since I've played this, but my memory says it's good. I don't really want to jump back into it because I don't think I'd enjoy it today. Nothing wrong with it, just my tastes have changed. It's a decent game about "hacking," in the hollywood style that would have made Angelina Jolie rethink her career during Hackers.

Probablemente también sea útil tener un bloc de notas a mano para recordar la diferencia entre los comandos, especialmente decryptpt y crack.
El juego tampoco es muy indulgente, ya que un error más adelante en el nivel podría obligarte a empezar de nuevo. Pero una vez que lo aceptas y superas los obstáculos de dificultad, el juego es genial y, curiosamente, te da la sensación de que todo es real, lo que lo hace emocionante.

Muy recomendado si eres de las personas que te gusta experimentar el mundo del hacking. Con este juego te sentirás toda una estrella hacker de hollywood, ya que todos los niveles siguen una historia bien definida y cuidada. También cabe destacar que la jugabilidad pega mucho con la realidad, utilizar solamente el teclado para completar cada uno de los niveles haciendo uso de la consola de comandos y teniendo que utilizar estrategias definidas para resolver los diferentes puzzles que te encuentres en cada nivel haciendo uso de la lógica misma.

2. 1/2 cup white sugar
3. 1/2 cup brown sugar

5. 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
6. 1 pinch salt
7. 5 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
8. 1 pastry for double-crust pie
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
2. Combine butter, white sugar, brown sugar, water, cinnamon, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, remove from heat and set aside.
3. Roll out half the pastry to fit a 9-inch pie plate. Place bottom crust in pie plate; pour in apple slices.
4. Roll out top crust into a 10-inch circle. Cut into 8 (1-inch) wide strips with a sharp paring knife or pastry wheel. Weave the pastry strips, one at a time, into a lattice pattern. Fold the ends of the lattice strips under the edge of the bottom crust and crimp to seal.
5. Pour butter-sugar mixture over top of pie, coating the lattice, and allowing any remaining sauce to drizzle through the crust.

I recommend
Hacker Evolution is an engaging game that you can easily burn an afternoon with. At it's core, it's essentially a puzzle game transposed over typing exercises. It's not exactly easy either, it is one large brain teaser challenging your attention to detail. It requires lots of trial and error to get to grips with the gameplay mechanics and may even require a total restart of the game as your progress and choices carry over level to level and can quite literally hardlock you if you are not careful. Combine that with a tutorial that QUITE LITERALLY sets you up for failure, and you may be in for a frustrating exercise if you don't catch on quick, as the game does a horrible job at fully explaining what it expects of you. That said, I still recommend the game. It kept me engaged with it's challenge all the way through to the end in 1 sitting, so it is clearly doing something right.
The OST while repetitive is fitting and never got annoying, it's just the right blend of not being too obnoxious to upset your concentration but not too boring and slow to put you to sleep while staring at the text on your screen. The presentation does it's job. It's not perfect, certainly not reflective of what most programmers/hackers would be using, but it relays all the information it needs to perfectly and still has it's own charm.
If you like brain teasers, I say give it a try.

What is this game for? As far as hacking goes it's very unrealistic which I get, its just a game at the end of the day and I have no issues with this kind of "pseudo" (or sudo?) hacking in games. I love Uplink for example. This game lacks what Uplink has though, including. Specifically:
1. Black and orange terminal. Really? Black and blue, sure, black and green is classic. Orange is urgh.
2. The music is stereotypical, forgettable "hacker techno". Again, compared with Uplink the music quality pales in comparison. ("Digital drams washing over the sea... scene... whatever. - Point is Uplink's music is better.)
3. The tutorial is broken. One of the tasks has you "login" to something like "user.hacker-evolution.com" by downloading a file called "passwd" from another server. Sounds almost real right? Ha... So to login you have to type (as the tutorial says) login user.hacker-evolution.com pass945 - so you do that. Error comes back saying httpd port doesn't support password authentication. I'm following your instructions, which are wrong, game. I'm assuming I shoulda portscanned it somehow first and found an ftp/ssh service on the server and logged in using that - but instructions don't stipulate this and I don't care enough to find a guide.
Hacking isn't about just typing commands and certainly nothing to do with bouncing connections across different servers to a great extent. I don't mind this so much. What I mind is an awful looking screen, terrible music and incorrect tutorials.

One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Unfortunately the game doesn't have any adjustable settings or key organizing, so when it doesn't recognize my lap top page up/down keys then it renders the help page for commands completely useless.
This makes darksouls look like minecraft peaceful mode

Довольно интересная штука, чтобы подучить на минимальном уровне базовые команды Unix систем. Но уровни слишком заточены на довольно прямолинейное прохождение - шаг влево , шаг вправо - расстрел. Так или иначе появилось желание поиграть в похожие игры на тему инфобеза.
Итог: на пару вечеров сойдет
I wish there was a vote between yes and no. I didn't dislike it but it isn't phenomenal.
I had fun. got frustrated bc the mechanics can sometimes be really annoying. lotta typing. dont get it if you aren't into wasting copious amounts of time. kinda feels like artificial difficulty eventually, cause if you don't know exactly what you're doing you kinda have to play the game over and over again.
edit: in 13 hours i've gotten as far as level 3 because i keep having to restart due to excess 'trace.' if your trace gets too high it basically becomes impossible to do anything and the level restarts itself every time you hit 100%, putting you in an effective limbo. also your trace carries over between levels (??????????)
you can't skip the tutorial and the levels have to be played consecutively. (you can't select level 1, 2 etc. specifically.) This means that if you ♥♥♥♥ up and have to restart you have to play ALLLLL the way from the tutorial through all the stages you've already played. Idk if you can tell but this is my biggest peeve with the game. I would say it's definitely a fun concept and I enjoy playing it when I feel like I have time but it's definitely not for the faint of heart or people with limited timetables.
I've spent 13 hours just learning the rules of how to play and the patterns of the first 2 levels. it feels very procedural, like it wants you to learn a specific way to play it through trial and error and for some people you might find yourself burning out before you even finish level 1.

This game simulates international hacking using a command line. It's fun and educational. It's very well done and the music is lit. If you have experience with using linux and command line and fantasize about hacking, this game is great.
If you like interesting story, are experienced with tech or just want to have something to relax to, this is a very fun game for you
