Original game is now dead but it's still available to play via the Side7 discord (check their instructions for installation), you just need a copy of it installed from a Steam library that purchased it when it was available or somewhere else and once you download their client/patch it's available to play via custom servers.
The game itself during it's official runtime was a lot of fun and had plenty of promise, it's a shame it failed and eventually got shutdown due to Bandai/Namco's negligence, disappointing MTX and utter lack of promotion especially in the west.
Still worth the try if you're into Gundam or just Hero Shooter games in general.

I think it's kind of funny that even mecha franchises long past their prime get failed hero shooters. Between this and Battle Operations 2's failed PC launch several times over I'm not sure anyone at Bandai knows how to use a computer. Just have the Aspyr guys do a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of ports and "remasters" with Chat-GPT translations of PS2/PSP games, Bandai. If you're gonna milk this cow so old that using Z and ZZ was 40+ years ago and we're now so convoluted the series is called GQuuuuuuX, just dredge that ♥♥♥♥ up. No doubt that's easier than developing another attempt at a live service game for a franchise that's been in and out of the grave several times over. Gihren's Greed V has a decent enough mostly functional translation online, just play that emulated to get your fix.
Also while we're here I just want to say(and the real purpose of this "review") that I never really believed Tomino's joking about his homicidal impulses until I watched CCA and he included Astonaige for no reason other than to kill him. Quick refresher: CCA was Tomino spending Sunrise money to make the most insufferable females he'd devised yet and subjecting theaters across Japan to Quess Paraya in what can only be described as something extremely wicked, to quote the titular villain. Astonaige was the mechanic side character in Zeta who mostly served to calm Camille down when he was being an autistic child(his words, not mine). He survived both Z and ZZ not only alive, but unslapped and unvegetable'd, a remarkable feat that seemingly demanded correction. In CCA he appears for a grand total of around 45 seconds, attempting to stop a newly introduced psychopathic female character from launching a MS into a battle involving yet another Neo-Neo-Zeon dropping something heavy onto Earth to kill everyone that will quickly get her killed. She obviously doesn't listen and launches anyways, with Astonaige sitting in zero-G completely gobsmacked that somebody is whinier than Camille. The shot lingers for about 5 seconds and then a stray laser hits the ship and kills him. Nobody mourns him, nor comments on it. The movie goes on regardless and unaffected by Astonaige blowing up, you could cut the explosion entirely and nothing would change. The film doesn't even do a callback or explanation like "Look guys, it's me, Astonaige!", if you hadn't seen Z and ZZ you'd think he's just some mechanic. These animated films cost a lot of money, and somebody had to painstakingly draw each frame of explosion that killed Astonaige as well as this random ass death not helping the bloated 2 hour runtime. He was included as if Tomino remembered he forgot to kill him during Zeta's laborious latter half because he was too busy killing off everyone else. That dedication to killing some side character and it being caused by a sociopathic female truly encapsulate the endearing and somewhat unnerving nature of Tomino using a franchise made to sell toys to keep him from murdering IRL. Truly a genius.
Least it ain't F91. Man, that movie was boring. Seabook? What the hell kind of name is that? Okay, Jamitov Hymen and Quattro Bajeena, but least those were funny. But Seabook? Come on, man.

This game was one of my favorite "hero" shooters. I wish it just did an overhaul or redid its store rather than shut down. It was one of the favorite MS games out there and we have so few right now. Its disappointing we get nothing after shut down and the game is now lost forever.
I really do hope Bandai brings it back

I enjoyed [b]GUNDAM EVOLUTION[/b] on console TOO MUCH. The beta tests were so popular, and it continued to impress long after release. The gunplay & gameplay is incredibly good fun, and the unique abilities of each gundam gave you a large variety of playstyles.
Unfortunately, the servers have long since shutdown, due to dwindling player numbers. A terrible decision.

나는 건담을 좋아해서 즐거웠음 오히려 건담이라는 사기 IP를 들고 몇십 년간 좆병신같은 pvp 게임만 찍어내다가 그나마 게임에 근접한 무언가가 나와서 놀랐다
솔직히 잘 만든 게임은 아니었지만 그래도 최소한 건담 게임에 목말라 있던 사람들에게는 재미를 줬던 게임
Its Crazy how companys keep messing up Mecha games, especially Bandai Namco. Game was pretty fun, played like Early Overwatch with a mecha paint scheme. But was pretty obvious to be a cash grab and without heart and soul. I would say try and play another Gundam game like Mobile Suit Operations 2 but that also sucks cause Bandai Namco wouldn't invest in good servers, thats why it was such a flop when it got re-released on Steam. Closest fun hero shooter mech game rn is Mecha Break, still has gash grab attributes but its got good core gameplay.

I loved this game so much I have never left a positive review on a game before its been 2 years since it shut down and I am genuinely Heart Broken.. I still think about the fun I had while playing the game and I was actually willing to buy the skins of multiple characters and did so especially any Skin on Gundam Barbatos or Unicorn my mains.
I wish they would just bring back the game and let people host on their own or maybe just sell the rights to the game to someone willing to take the risk hell that would be an investment I'd personally take out a loan on.
Don't get me wrong the game did have problems all games do and I am not gonna say this one was perfect but the fact it still haunts my memories unlike many other games has left a massive impact in my gaming life.
I heard about Gundam Evolution - Side 7 and am going to give it a try but I hope the creators and producers of this game just give it back to the community and or give it another shot. (but if you do please let me still have the skins I payed for they were dope).
I don't know if this comment/review will be seen or if anyone will really care about it but it has been weighing on my heart a very long time. I hope this gets seen by the right people or at least the ones who cared the most about making Gundam Evolution a Lifetime Experience.

游戏是好游戏，哎，可惜了，听缅怀当年的，一首无敌巴巴托斯，一手无敌能天使，补位拿个狙击吉姆，一路上分几天上钻石。这游戏做得不好的一点就是近战机体一开始太强了但是传统射击游戏里很少人会玩导致胜率膨胀，然后后面一路削弱导致不成人样，会玩的只剩下绝活哥。游戏是好游戏，机体设计的技能交互性也很有趣，就是运营不做人。

I really liked the game, team based shooter with a robots?!?!! AND ITS GUNDAM!?!??! the combat was good imo, with the dodge being fluid and fast, The cosmetics were decent I never bought any but I think I remember them being sort of pricey, but what can you expect from a free game. Good game.

As i mentioned in my review of Super Mecha Champions, these kinds of Projects are a huge display of Passion in a community, and this one is one step away from not only recreating but improving the experience of the Original Service while also having a playerbase active enough to regularly play full lobbies.
