With City Connection, it's always a roll of the dice. You either get a decent port or a garbage one. This is the latter. The game defaults to Japanese and you have to mess around in the menus or find someone's guide to change it to English. Game play is also tied to frame rate so unless you set your display to 60Hz, controls will be so touchy that the game's unplayable. Don't support junk conversions like this.
A somewhat lousy presentation of a really fun unique game, I'm still giving this a thumbs up because the game [i]is[/i] very enjoyable but there are a [i]lot[/i] of asterisks to be aware of.
MOST IMPORTANTLY if you have a high refresh rate monitor, you [i]must[/i] lock the game's framerate to 60 in Nvidia control panel (or whatever the AMD equivalent is). I started playing and thought "this is kinda neat but the controls are way too sensitive" until I realized that input polling seemed to be tied to framerate. I have a 144hz monitor and just tapping the analogue stick shot my character way to the side. Once I locked the game to 60 it played how it should.
Beyond that the visual presentation is a mushy mess. It seems like different sprites use different scaling methods. Your character, some of the icons, and the witch lady who helps you out seem to use that horrible "smooth filter" that started appearing in retro collections around the time of the XBOX 360 Sega Genesis collection, the blocks you're supposed to break and some enemies seem to use bilinear scaling, but other bosses, enemies and projectiles look like they're using proper nearest neighbour scaling (which is my preferred type of scaling). This results in the visuals being an inconsistant mess and I really just wish the whole thing let you choose nearest neighbor (display caps out at 1080p as well which probably doesn't help). I watched some footage of the Arcade version and it doesn't seem to have these inconsistencies.
The configuration menu you can launch outside of the game doesn't really seem to do much either. I set the game to "fullscreen" but it launches windowed every time so I have to hit alt enter to fullscreen it.
I [i]could[/i] also say how the game launches in Japanese but honestly that's the least of this port's problems. I'm gonna try and take the JLPT this year so it's reading practice.
[i]That said[/i], once you get the framerate under control, this is an incredibly fun mashup of shoot-em-ups, breakout, and pinball. The basic formula is Breakout/Arkanoid but you have pinball flippers to give your ball some extra "oomph". You can use the flippers to send back bullets which also helps getting pesky blocks that are hard to reach and the game has a satisfying, punchy feel. I've only played a few rounds, but it's addictive and I could see myself putting a lot of time into this. The music is nice and while I hate how butchered the sprite art is the colors and characters are very appealing.
So overall the porting job is pretty bad but the game itself is a lot of fun once you at least get the framerate dealt with. I woudl love to see an update that fixes the issue or for this game to be included in a more proper arcade compilation but it's still enjoyable even with this release's issues.
(oh and as far as I can tell the only way to close the game is Alt-F4 unless there's something I'm missing)
Port of an arcade game from PSIKYO and the graphics are bright and sound is good.
Fan of the game, once past the language adjustment, a very satisfactory breakout game.
You can sometimes hit it with the player rep behind the paddle/flippers.

I used a controller, it does NOT allow mouse side to side, that I would like fixed, but was smooth like butter with a thumb stick on my controller. (8bitdoo SN30 Pro is what I use)
Has Settings outside running the game, but can check a box to not offer the choice anymore.

As someone that has recently gotten to appreciate Arkanoid, I think this is a very good version of arkanoid/breakout. There are a lot of powerups and things that can disrupt you. The flippers make things a little more interesting and you can knock enemy shots back at them while your ball's bouncing around. It feels a bit on the easier side.

問題に対応し、コントローラーで遊べるようになったので、記録として残しておく。調査の結果、どうやら「コントローラーの設定」に問題があるということが分かった。
以下、対応の手順。
「GUNBARICH」が起動していたら、いったん終了する。Steamの「ライブラリ」の左端、ソフトがタイトル名で一覧となって並んでいる場所にある「GUNBARICH」を右クリックし、「管理」→「コントローラ設定」を選択する。「コントローラーの画像」が載っているページになるので、中央最下部の「設定を閲覧」を選択する。「コントローラーの設定 - インポート」と書かれているページになるので、「テンプレート」を選択する。「キーボード（WASD）とマウス」と「ゲームパッド」の２つの選択肢が現れるので、「ゲームパッド」を選択する。「プレビュー」と書かれているページになるので、中央最下部の「設定を適応」を選択する。「決定」を押して、ページを閉じる。これでコントローラーは認識されるはずです。お疲れ様でした。（教えてくださった方、ありがとうございました。）
＜フルスクリーンにしたい、解像度をディスプレイと合わせたい、垂直同期をOFFにしたい場合＞

セール時に６２４円で購入。
2001年に登場したアーケードブロック崩し「GUNBARICH」のSteam移植。ポップで可愛いらしく、人気STG「GUNBIRD」の関係作品であるからか、特殊アイテムのなかにSTGの自機のように弾を撃ちだすものがある。プレイアブルキャラクター２人。全７ステージ（１～６の各ステージ３面、７ステージは４面）。Steam実績、Steamクラウド対応。
１クレジットあたりの自機の数９、コンテニュー無制限でプレイしたみたところ、何度もコンテニューを繰り返しながらも約１５分でクリアー。
ブロック崩しのなかでは簡単な方だと思う。わたし自身、ブロック崩しが苦手で、フリッパーでの打ち分けもまともにできない。クリアーしたことあるブロック崩しは本作「GUNBARICH」とDYA Gamesの「Strikey Sisters」はふたつしかないので、たぶん合っている。元アーケードということもあり、時間制限が厳しく、前半のミスがほぼタイムオーバーになるところはツマらないが、一方で気前の良く配る特殊アイテムによる変化や効果音や画面効果の気持ちの良さは楽しさを引き立てていると思う。基本的に詰めて遊ぶゲームではなく、何かの息抜きや手遊び代わりにボケーッと遊ぶの向いている。疲れている人にオススメ。いや疲れている人は寝た方が良いか……
残念なところは、コントローラーの設定に手間がかかること。設定の関する項目が分断されていて手間がかかること。「Remote Play Together」、「ステージセレクト」、「中断セーブ」、「リワインド機能」がないこと。

Fun game - a cross between breakout and pinball. Gunbarich has responsive controls and colorful gameplay. The pre-2000s Japanese-to-English mis-translations are a chuckle-and-a-half. "If you hamper me, I'll compete with you!" Classic...
Most of the issues reported seemed to be worked out. I don't know if this one is an issue, but I can't get the "clear stage without items" achievement. If anyone else has a clue, please send me a message.

和gunbird打包买的，只买gunbird就好了，建议不要买这个了。。。
《彩京磚塊物語》也算是被時代拋棄的經典之作了，街機的時代早已過去，這波冷飯算不上香但是還是有著不錯的紀念價值。遊戲中玩家選擇兩位不同的角色打磚塊闖關，並且可以獲得各式各樣的道具。放在如今來看這些內容已經顯得過分單純，僅推薦那些彩京的粉絲向玩家補票入手。
正如之前所說遊戲的模式相當的單一，沒有多人對戰，也不能一起開黑，只能選擇一位人物孤獨的闖關，沒三關是一些小節之後就是boss戰，遊戲中會像魂斗羅一樣隨機掉落各種道具來幫助玩家，基本思路就是這麼簡單，喜歡這類復古遊戲和打磚塊的玩家可以一試。雖然現在看來游戲的套路不免有些俗氣，但是依舊能考驗一下自己的技術水準。不過作為一款益智遊戲來說本作的定價反而有些過於偏高了，相比遊戲的內容略顯不值，如果有意向入手的玩家建議打折再做考慮。

游戏本身的玩法画师非常传统，基本上和《DX-Ball （砖块王）》的打砖块游戏内容相差不多。其中多少融合了点《3D Pinball（三维弹球）》的要素，可以同时享受打砖块和弹幕射击两种完全不同的要素。
登场角色除了前作正传《武装飞鸟》中可操作的魔法师少女玛丽昂（marion\マリオン）外新增了个原创少年角色格鲁坦（Grutan\グルグン），至于剧情方面则没有太大关联。本作大致上是说两位少年少女参加了魔术师学校（Wonder School）的考验，在魔女导师的训练下开始客服难关。根据设定来看此时的玛丽昂还只是学校见习女巫，芳龄9岁，而到了系列正传《武装飞鸟2》的时候已经是17岁了，所以本作某种程度也可以看作是系列前传，虽然发行上比两部作品都要晚。
游戏本身没有什么特别玩法，根据指示操控角色打砖块就行，通过类似《三维弹球》的控制器操控小球打完砖块就行。整体上看比起模拟器版本要流畅许多，但缺少了无限投币的作弊功能。玛丽昂与格鲁坦角色能力不同，玛丽昂适合吃道具操作，而格鲁坦适合打砖块刷分，因此到底选择谁作为游戏角色全看玩家喜好，选谁都不影响游戏体验。除此之外，每相隔一段时间魔女老师就会跳出来送道具，不同道具能力不同，算下来还蛮温柔的。
画面风格其实比较复古，整体还原了街机的风格。中间一块屏幕作为游戏区域，像素点看起来比较粗糙，建模锯齿明显，有一种复古感，而左右两边的角色立绘就非常清晰明确，形成鲜明对比。
操作方面实际非常卡手，建议玩家使用手柄或者提前重新设置，不然基本上很难操作，非常容易导致误死。在没有提前查阅设置表的情况下即使玩家脸滚键盘也不一定能够猜到某些必要的控制键，因此与其多死几次考验耐心，不如提前做好功课。

Gráficamente el juego se desenvuelve bien con unos entornos 2D bastante bien realizados, con unos enemigos prerrenderizados que son bastante grandotes y que nos pondrán en más de un apuro. El juego es un port del mismo título que salió en recreativas hace 20 años, pero con gráficos actualizados, lo que quiere decir que los fondos y los personajes protagonistas, así como los enemigos, ahora se ven mucho más nítidos, con resoluciones más actuales (siendo la máxima 1080p).

Melodías alegres y pegadizas nos acompañarán a lo largo y ancho del juego. Los efectos de sonido también son correctos, aunque podían tener un poco más de contundencia en algunos casos. En ningún momento se hacen pesadas o repetitivas las melodías. Tampoco es que haya alguna que destaque sobre las otras, pero acompañan perfectamente la acción.
Tanto la música como los efectos pueden ser deshabilitados desde el menú de opciones.

En este juego, como buen clon del breakout/arkanoid, debemos romper una serie de ladrillos en un tiempo estimado. En este caso, dicho tiempo es de un minuto.
En dicho tiempo hay que haber eliminado todos los ladrillos de la pantalla. Conforme el jugador va avanzando, irán apareciendo ladrillos que no se podrán eliminar. Para completar esta tarea el jugador debe moverse por la pantalla de izquierda a derecha con el mando. Dicho esto, el juego tiene soporte para mando, probado con uno de XBOX ONE, y lo recomiendo totalmente porque es bastante preciso el movimiento con el mando.

El juego da la opción de cambiar tanto el número de vidas como el de continuaciones, lo que lo hará sensiblemente más sencillo o más exigente según lo que se elija.
La perticularidad de este clon del breakout, es que en lugar de la típica pala, encima de la cabeza del jugador aparecen un par de flippers, que nos permitirán, además de darle más impulso a la bola, devolver las que mandan los enemigos.

Tenemos dos modos de juego: el Arcade, donde se nos permitirá jugar con el número de vidas y continuaciones que queramos, y el Score Attack, donde sólo tenemos 3 vidas y 3 continuaciones.
He encontrado un par de lunares en el juego: por un lado que cuando lo ejecutas por primera vez aparece todo en japonés y por otro que las escenas entre fase y fase no están bien sincronizadas. Cuando pulsas el botón que también sirve para mover los flippers, siempre tarda un buen rato en aparecer y luego los personajes que aparecen en las mismas desaparecen demasiado rápido, sin dar tiempo a que termine el texto, que también se queda un tiempo después de darle al botón para que se quiten.
También hay que destacar que no existe opción de cerrar el juego, así que habrá que hacerlo con alt+F4.
El juego es multilenguaje, pero no está en español. También tiene 32 logros pero no tiene cartas ni objetos en la tienda de puntos.

《GUNBARICH（彩晶砖块物语）》是一款街机移植的休闲打砖块游戏，玩家将以三维弹球的模式进行打砖块操作，配合多样的道具，也能够带来不错的游戏体验，但由于游戏较老且比起同类游戏并无本质的创新点，基本就是单纯的萌系打砖块，比起游戏性，情怀价值更高一些。

本作的玩法相当的单纯，跟着剧情走，一关一关打砖块，难度不断提升，也会有更加花里胡哨的道具，如分身出小球、爆炸球、穿透球等等，同类游戏的常见套路了，基本没多少花样，不过本作也算有其独特之处，其机体并非单纯的挡板，而是类似三维弹球的弹射板，操作得当能给小球更多的角度和更大的动力，也给玩家提供了更多的操作空间。不过，道具是开场NPC丢来的，比起同类游戏中更多花里胡哨的道具，还是差了点意思。本作另外的萌豚加成是萌豚画风的角色，女性有更长的道具持续时间，男性有更多的打击分数，自己的角色有个萌豚形象，起码玩起来蛮乐呵。不过U1S1，比起模拟器上99个币拉满无限续关，真正移植PC却会因为投币的限制，对玩家的操作提出了更高的要求，不能随心所欲，正版游戏受害者确认。

《彩晶砖块物语》是由日本的彩京（PSIKYO）公司于2001年出品的一款休闲类街机游戏。
玩起来有点像是小时候玩的打砖块游戏。
剧情，嗯，剧情嘛我也没看出来，反正就是一个打砖块游戏，剧情什么的都无所谓了。
本作的用的是PS的移植，在操作上来说，比使用模拟器玩流畅多了，几乎没什么延迟。不过虽然流畅了，但是感觉并没有模拟器的版本玩的过瘾，因为模拟器的版本可以作弊，还可以无限投币，娱乐感更强。(本作只能投币3次，3次之后就GG了)。
游戏中玩家可以从两个人物中选择一个然后就可以开始打砖块了。
一男一女，区别就在于男性角色可以用普通攻击打出更多的分数，女的吃道具可以持续更长的时间（大概是这样）。
游戏中每过一会魔女就会出现给玩家输送道具，吃掉道具之后再打球就可以打出特殊的效果。
哦，顺便说一句，打球的方式有点类似于WINDOWS系统自带的3D弹球那种样式。
特殊效果也比较多，比如一段时间内可以穿透所有砖块，爆炸，分身球等等。
而且除了普通关卡，游戏每过几个小关就会出现一个boss，攻击方式就是用弹球击打。
操作上因为习惯了用鼠标玩这类游戏，导致玩本作的时候不管是用手柄还是用键盘都觉得非常不习惯，明明看到球速不快要想过去接，可是手却有些迟钝，结果接不到而死亡。

37块钱的价格买一个街机打砖块游戏，嗯，划不划算还是看个人喜好吧。

キーボードで操作しようとするとキーコンフィグによらず決定ボタンとキャンセルボタン以外無反応で遊べず。
コントローラーでは遊べたがちょいちょい自機の動きが止まってストレスフル。
(右移動キー入れっぱなしなのに途中で止まってしまい、もういちど押し直さないと動かない等)
別の人のレビューによると十字キーではなくてアナログスティックを操作に使えば止まらずに動かせるらしい。次はそうしてみる。
やったことのない彩京のゲームなのでもうちょっとちゃんと遊んでみたい。
とにかく入力周りをもうちょっと頑張ってほしい。
2/15/21 Edit: An update dropped today that seems to have fixed most of the issues, including the bug where the game crashed when trying to exit the Game Settings menu after making changes. This has greatly improved my experience. So despite there still being no way to exit the game without using Alt+F4 yet, I am now changing my rating and giving it a thumbs up as I can now recommend buying this.
First up, there IS a way to change the text from Japanese to English-pause the game to go to Options, select the 3rd option down, then select the 6th option down and press Right ONCE. Select the last option on screen and press A twice.
As for the game itself, this is a block-breaker-style game featuring Psikyo characters, mostly from the "Gunbird" series as powerups and NPCs. You can choose to play as Marion, a heroine of the Gunbird games or a male character.
While the game itself is simple, fun and challenging, there are major bugs that will cause a lot of problems-the biggest one is that, except for language, if you change any Game Settings and try to return to the game the proper way so everything is applied, the game instantly crashes. So you can only play on the default game settings.
I really hate to give this a thumbs down because I love all the games this developer has ported to Steam so far, but until the above settings bug is fixed (among other things) do not buy this game. It's playable but you won't get the ideal experience. Just wishlist/follow for now and monitor for updates and bug fixes, then when this is hopefully fixed I will change my recommendation to buy.
No non ci siamo ragazzi. Scrivo questa review al volo giusto per segnalare che al di là del fatto che i livelli sono giocabili (il gioco di per se sarebbe anche carino), per il resto l'assenza di lingua inglese è abbastanza intollerabile (Edit: ok l'inglese c'è, ma dovrete smazzarvela tra le opzioni completamente in giapponese) e le sequenze d'intermezzo tra un livello e l'altro sono buggatissime, risultando super lente ed inskippabili. Augurandomi un più che pronto intervento da parte degli sviluppatori, l'esperienza al momento risulta fin troppo frustrante, quindi per quanto mi riguarda primo pollice verso per i City Connection.
A decent port so far of a good brick breaker type game except the game's all in Japanese with no way to change it from what I've tried despite the store page showing English text. I'll recommend this game if they fix this.
Update: I found a way to change the language, I'll copy-paste it here:
Here's how to change it to English (assuming you're using a controller):
Start the game then when the title screen appears, press Start.
Go to the 3rd option down (Game Settings). Press A.
Go to the 6th option down (Language-2 kanji characters on the left). Press Right ONCE. Go down to the bottom option (Back) and press A to go back. A second prompt will appear. Press A. This will save your changes. You will return to the title screen.
Press Start again. If done correctly, the menus and text will now be in English.
I still would not recommend this until they fix this
Once again City Connect release a port of a port of a port which end up on steam so broken most user can't even play it. well done guys.
斜め入力で動きが止まってしまう人はコントローラがDPモードになっているはずなので、アナログスティックモードへ切り替えれば8方向どこへ入れても正常に動くようになります。
これ、分からないと不具合に見えてしまうので、DP入力での８方向入力への対応をしてほしい。
コントローラのデジタルパッドで左上右上、左下右下へ入力したときに自機が止まってしまうのは辛い。勿体ない。
アップデートに期待。
