One of my favorite fighting games of all time. It is was my first alongside Blazblue, and I feel that it is easy enough where you can get into entry level, but the characters and matchups are interesting enough where there is so much to learn and improve on. I personally mostly play DIzzy, Elphelt, Ramlethal, Jack'o, May and Bedman with some other characters, so if that doesn't show how addicting it is I am not sure what will. The graphics of this game are often downplayed, but it is beautiful and the character outfits, ultimates and moves are extremely expressive. In addition, characters really feel like they go past their archetype, while maintaining a core identity and helping you learn said archetype, in other words it can be more grounded than a game like Blazblue. Also overall, it may be more of a discord fighter, but this is one my most favorite games to play with friends, because of the mechanics in the game. Firstly, you don't Roman Cancel at specific tight times like Accent Core, which makes the game more beginner friendly. Also bursting is quite good in this game and not full screen like Strive, which I think is good. There is also a very good balance on meter gain and dust attacks alsi have different purposes and allow for enders, extenders or other utility. So overall, I would say it is one of the most expressive Guilty Gear games, while offering more dynamic kits than other fighters and it can teach a new player to the genre, a lot of really cool tech with some awesome characters to go with that.

This game really upsets me and I want to like it because it controls like silk but the things I am controlling are worse iterations of the things in the other two important guilty gear games. I understand that it was an attempt to make +R more approachable, but so many quintessential character tools are missing that playing Xrd variations feels like a downgrade. Strive may catch a lot of flak (from me included) for being a bit of a casual baby game, but that just makes it that much easier to play it with people who don't play fighting games at all, and at the very least strive's RC system is excellent. At least this game has Haehyun. And old Bedman, even if he deals no damage.
At best it's the middle game of a grime-o-meter, you'd play this if you think +R has too much grime and Strive doesn't have enough grime. I think this game does have the best mix of movement and system mechanics in the series, but that these tools are more or less an inferior version of Blazblue's system mechanics. I just don't think this game captures enough of the best parts of the other two... though the presentation is fantastic, are you seeing these stages and character introductions? They do a perfect job of encapsuling the characters. And this music, that's my jam! Yes!!! And the random cutscene about Sol and Ky being related??? Immaculate storytelling.
Also Zato is straight up incomplete in this game like what is he doing, stray hit into nobiru into no advantage? His belt literally teleports up his ass when he summons Eddie, and half of his kit is gone?? And the cool shark super is apparently useless??? (basically every super in gear is outclassed by RC usage but it's a funny shark c'mon man)
But hey, at least he has a sick jacket when he wins. Wish you could toggle it on, really.
Anyways great game, but maybe make it again but better, shouldn't be too hard

It's like how more people play third strike(iconic but flawed) than fourd strike(an improvement but not as widely recognized and experimented with). Go play Rev 0.]
