Nach 5 Stunden is mir jetz nur aufgefallen dass es für die Grafik sehr ruckelt und ich hatte einen Bug wo ich eine Mission nicht abschließen konnte weil keine Geister mehr da waren, das game aber dennoch wollte dass ich Geister fange, ansonsten kann man nich meckern wenn man das Ghostbusters aus C64 Zeiten noch kennt und die ersten beiden Filme mag is man hier richtig!

This game is in rough shape -- and I mean REALLY rough shape.
It has playthrough-breaking bugs (like crippling gas-consumption if you make the mistake of using the provided 'FFWD' feature) throughout -- and as a result, it's a mixed bag.

It definitely isn't worth over $15 -- they should be charging around $5, especially in the state it is in.
I bought it for a bit more than that, and while I loved what it has to offer enough to play around the many errors, most people shouldn't be expected to.

If you take the plunge, you'll be treated to an 'original X-Com-like' experience of bustin' ghosts for currency in jolly old London -- competing with rival ghost-controlling services for jobs, prestige, and power.
The other agencies are only really there to steal your jobs if you're too slow in navigating the game map -- and you must always play through the storyline (with set goals to advance stages), without an available free-play mode.

What you see is what you get -- a tactical combat & business building/management love letter to 'Ghostbusters', under any other name.

Un ejemplo: a lo largo de una partida de siete horas en modo "Iron Man" no pude mejorar las habitaciones de la base de operaciones porque, cada vez que salía y entraba de nuevo al juego, desaparecían todos los cambios. Eso es malo. Pero aún peor es que haya podido pasarme el juego sin ningún problema a pesar de ello. Por suerte, el juego es lo suficientemente divertido como para, en ocasiones, hacerte olvidar todos sus problemas. Y lo dice alguien a quien las películas de los Cazafantasmas le importan un pimiento.

Took me awhile to start playing this game properly, but I really like it.
So far, I haven't really see big complexity or anything, its a fairly standard light-XCom mashup with a ghost hunting twist. The unique combat feature is guns that have ability to push or pull enemies for some amount of squares, so aside dealing damage - the idea is to set drop traps creatively, aggro ghosts, then use these weapons creatively to get them above the trap.
The overworld management involves stuff like upgrading your weapons, training, healing, refueling your car and one cool thing - it has objectives to follow, which all seem to unlock new cool things. For example, there's a hint of a car upgrade which makes it run on ectoplasm, rather than fuel.

Unless difficulty spirals out of control, I can totally see spending enough time with this one to finish it.

I love the concept, and the equipment system and ghost variety is decent.

But it falls very short in the execution department. You respond to calls by driving to their location on the map... but you need to keep your car gassed up to get anywhere, and there's only a couple of gas stations in the city, meaning you spend more time trying to just keep your car fueled than actually responding to calls. And then if you take too long an opposing company will respond and you lose your chance.

Inventory/gear management was also a little obnoxious.

I was disappointed at the end of the day. I was hoping for more base management a la XCOM and less driving around wasting money on a weird mechanic.

I really wish there was a broader rating scale for games like this. This isn't a really *bad* game. In fact, it's pretty fun for the first little while. The concept is great, the gameplay is well-thought out, it looks nice, if I was an indy dev, I'm sure I'd be very proud of it.

The problem is that is that just gets kind of repetitive and grind after a few hours. It feels like you're just doing the same thing over and over again. There's no real story or content to keep it interesting. I had similar issues with FTL, honestly.

I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars, maybe 65% or so. But when the ratings comes down to "would you recommend it or not," the answer is no, not really.

Bought this game while on sale ($8 USD) being a big fan of the "Ghostbuster" franchise i couldn't say no to this kind of game however, i booted up the game and right away i was having problems, game tells me to equip character, i do so, and then tells me i cant go on mission until i equip character, so restart game , then after getting past that bug i run into another issue with buying more equipment and they don't "exist" but are still in my inventory and cant get rid of them, so a whole bunch of money wasted and then having to essentially start a brand new game, kinda sucks. seeing how simplistic this game should be. i shouldn't have so many crippling game play problems, which turned me off to this game with it being released in Jun 6 2014. Sorry not sorry bumblebee

I love this little game, Great idea but in need of a proper polishing and in need of rebalances to some of the elements of the game, still this is a funny game lots of jokes to keep u happy, love the way it looks, sounds, and the fact that u have to build ur company up from nothing to be the best ghostbusters there is, u can buy new HQs, Transport, weapons, traps, Gear, train ur team, research ur gear and more, as i have said great idea but needed better funding to make it stand out from other games, but yea i would recommend it but would have to say to people to not get there hopes up of there being updates or fixs but if so many people paid for it then like it people may be able to ask for them.

GhostControl Inc sounds like a bargain title name used in a cartoon or TV show to denote a Ghostbusters-like title they need for background noise without actually paying for GhostBuster royalties for clips.
If you think this, you'd be right. Is this game just as cheap? Somewhat but that's a good thing.

For the price of 15 dollars you get a tactical strategy game set on a isometric map that is turn based.
You are managing a team of Ghost Hunters who use vacuum based weaponry and toaster traps to fight and capture spirits, slowly earning money to become better at your trade.

You can upgrade your weapons, characters, vehicle, and HQ. In a way it does remind me of the early GhostBuster game from the Commodore 64. In small casual doses it can be fun. Don't expect to binge nonstop on this because you'll eat through the game very quickly.

However despite the small dose of fun you get, there are drawbacks.
The music is fairly small in selection and very repetitive, so expect to turn it down or off after the first 20 minutes of play.
The artwork, though not the greatest, does the job decently.
The map feels very small for play, but at the same time that small size allows you to zip around the city at a fair clip.

So if I have these problems, then what's the good of the game? Honestly it feels good because of how simple it is. This game's small maps and limited UI doesn't require too much thinking. Lay the trap down, zap the ghost, and don't spend so much time on the map either the location is destroyed or your hunter's sanity (the health meter) goes to 0 and they run away. Your characters don't die as far as I can tell so it can be a forgiving game.

So going back to the beginning of this review, GhostControl Inc sounds like a low budget GhostBusters without the royalties and it is, but it does what it says: Capture these spooky ghosts, earn money, and keep doing it. There's no big story, no grandiose plot, no DLC, no controversy, it is very much that trope of "What's on the tin".

For the financially minded, if $15 is to much to spend on a cheap but fun game, wait for sale then. Aside from that, I don't mind that I got this at full price. The amount of money I put into this game would equal DLC on a big budget game that would maybe provide a portion of fun or an outfit in a MMO. For that amount of cash, I get a fairly casual and fun knock off of a beloved title from my childhood.

Get it, play it, forget it is in your library, then reinstall it again for a quick hit of fun. That's my recommendation.

Fun game while it lasts, but zero replayability. Different cities were planned but never implemented and with the tragic loss of the game's creator it's unlikely this game will ever be officially updated with no mod scene that I can find to make up for it.

For some reason despite looking like a DOS game it CHUGS even on a moden system with decent specs. Very janky in places.

Basically, buy it on sale and it'll keep you entertained for a day or two, but once you've played through it once you'd seen everything.

First thing to know is that the game is buggy. Changing out weapons will cost AP but not work sometimes, If you have somebody training, and you save the game, then load it again, the person training will become whoever the first person in your HQ menu is. Kind of hard to explain, but trust me its frustrating. Training is a good example of the game not being super polished as it is basically worthless. You level up way faster in the field and I spent the whole game with a guy not doing anything but training. The game does everything else right. Its an evolution of the old school Ghostbusters game for various consoles. Last battle in the museum was worth the playthrough but it is sad that it promises another city which doesn't unlock and I'm assuming will never be released.

Ein nettes Spiel für zwischendurch.
Allerdings würde ich empfehlen auf einen Sale zu warten. Es gibt einfach zu wenig Inhalt für 14 €.
Man hat ein Hauptquartier welches sich nicht wirklich ausbauen lässt und mehr als 3 Geisterjäger passen leider nicht ins Auto.
Ein Team von 4 Figuren wäre nett gewesen.
Schade auch das man die seltsamen Namen der Geisterjäger nicht verändern kann (Betty Brutalski habe ich lieber nicht angeheuert).

Davon abgesehen macht das Spiel aber Spaß und ich bin gespannt ob im Laufe meiner Kampagne noch mehr Waffen dazu kommen oder ob ich jetzt am Ende angekommen bin :)

GhostControl Inc. is a turn-based strategy business simulator game. This game is Ghostbusters meets X-Com with business management. You play as a team of 3 ghost hunters at a time, hunting a nice variety of different ghosts while juggling your money so you can hiring new guys, pay for their equipment, and car gas by the week. There are ghost traps, scanners, and jumpsuits. The different effects that weapons have give you a multiple of ways to play. You can play keep away with just push, juggle them ghosts with push/pull, or just pull the ghosts into the trap. I'm not normally for the X-Com turn-based combat, but it was simple enough to understand and be fun. The art work / graphics are charming, and the music is very catchy. There are couple of easter eggs here and there. Downside is that I did run into couple of glitches, and the developer did die, so there won't be any more updates. But I really enjoyed this game very much and I give this a 8/10.

I found this game to be a fun little strategy game. A bit simplistic for a master X-com player I would guess but just great for an experienced player looking for a bit of fun, and I think new players would find it easy to learn and understand. The comedy is just cheesy enough if you know the original Ghostbusters. The only real down side is after the first decent “Boss” you run into the game gets a bit grindy if you want to keep all your gear maxed out. All in all I have had a fun time so far and feel for the price its defiantly worth a buy.

I REALLY want to recommend this. It's an updated version of the old classic Ghostbusters, with some additional turn based combat for good measure. And what's there works.

Unfortunately, the game has numerous bugs, some major. And as the developers show no inclination to patch them I can't in good conscience recommend this to anyone.

Such a shame. If the bugs were fixed this would be a great game

Für Ghostbusters-Fans und Freunde der Spiele der späten 80er und 90er wirklich ein Muss!

Die Retrografik ist nett, das Spielprinzip simpel aber schick und der Sound hat mich überrascht (Sprachausgabe der Charaktere, in verschiedenen Situationen).

Alles in allem ist das Spiel ein wirklich nette Idee und hat mir in den bisher 2 Stunden Spielzeit auch viel Spaß gemacht... Aber leider gibt es keine wirkliche Kampagne, keine durchgehende Handlung und die Aufgaben wiederholen sich schnell. Im Grunde sind die nett gestalteten Telefonate von Kunden, die um Hilfe bitten, nicht nötig... denn es heißt immer: "Ich hab hier Geister, kümmert euch drum!".

Würde ich das Spiel dennoch empfehlen? Klar aber man muss eben wissen, für was man hier bezahlt. Für mich ist es ein Spiel, dem ich immer wieder mal einen Besuch abstatten werde... Für mal eine Nacht durchzuzocken reicht es leider nicht, die Langzeitmotivation ist nicht vorhanden. Gerne hätte ich mir noch ein paar Anspielungen zum Vorbild gewünscht, bspw. die Ausrüstung der Filmvorlage als Top-Equipment - Ich hab geschummelt und in die Zukunft geschaut ;-)

Aktueller Preis 14 EUR ... Wenn man 2-4 Stunden Spaß damit hat, sind das nur 3,50 bis 7 EUR pro Stunde... Das ist doch eigentlich ganz fair ;-)

eigentlich ganz witzig un eine coole retro grafik.... aber kein tutorial... außer einer 2min aktion....
dann zu hektisch un verbuggt? Ich baue einen Trainingsraum und kann niemand reinschicken....
man muss mit seinem Auto überall hinfahren - equipment kaufen, zu monstern, ins HQ etc. aber leider schluckt der kleine Käfer mehr Sprit als ein SUV, sodass man entweder alle 2 min zur Tanke fährt oder für teures Geld abgeschleppt wird... natürlich schnappt einem dann die Konkurrenz die Kunden weg etc. daher sehr nervig un macht keinen Spaß....
daher Idee super, Umsetzung möh

Pros:
- the only good Ghostbusters game (given that 2009 masterpiece has been removed from steam)
- easy to grasp concept
- fun in small doses (i recommend 1 hous daily tops)
- not overly challenging (once you get to know the game)

Cons:
- unintuitive interface
- uneven graphics of ghosts/monsters
- repetitive (did i mention not to play more than 1 hour per session?)
- lack of real challenge except for the very first hour of campaign (depending on difficulty)

Overall, this title compares to 2009 Ghostbusters game like the movie Ghostbusters II compares to the original movie.

The best ways I can describe this game is either 'the people who made it wanted to make a Ghostbusters game, but they couldn't secure the license.' or 'it's to Ghostbusters what Chroma Squad was to Power Rangers/Super Sentai.'

Overall, this is a pretty decent game, especially if you're already a fan of the turn-based strategy genre. I've personally enjoyed it, (though the menu does lag on my current computer, but it's still playable.)

The only thing I have against this game, in my personal opinion, along with those I've personally recommended this to, is that it's NOT worth the US$15 they're asking for. (It's more of a US$10 game, at most.) Just wait for it to go on sale, and then snag it, you won't regret it.

I've owned GhostControl Inc. for awhile, I got about seven and a half hours playing it. I tend to be a big fan of simulation games in general, but a paranormal sim that tries to add a bit of a Ghost Busters flair to it? I mean, it should have been a dream come true.

I'll be the first to admit that I do enjoy this game, it reminds me a bit of Xcom if it were also married to a business sim. But there are problems with the game that often stop me from playing longer peroids of time.

The biggest thing is the lack of help or context, there's a lot you can do in this game, but the game doesn't hold your hand when it comes to controls and context. I can appreciate the fact the developers don't want to bog players down with tutorials, but at the same time, I've actually had to look up guides online to better understand some of the games mechanics.

Further, this game suffers from a massive amount of grinding in order to be able to progress the story. There's been times I've felt like I've made zero progress in the game, simply because of how tedious the game can become.

There's also a really weird difficulty spike that comes out of no where that can leave players reeling.

I think that if the developers returned to this game and made some efforts to better balance the game, this could really be a hidden gem.

GhostControl is an old school turn based strategy game with a basic two action points per turn mechanic. It is good fun to explore your strategy and also the kind of equipment you can get. It starts off a bit slow but I kind of got into it after a while and like it enough to go back playing it. I found the newspaper bits entertaining to read. It would be great if the devs could come back with a few improvements like they have announced in the community.

I have a lot of fun playing this game. It takes a while to get into it. But after reading the PDF strategy guide I had a better idea what to try and how to improve on my ghost hunting strategy and make the income better. I have now a great choice of extra equipment. There are some fake weapons, beware. They are expensive but if you study the stats carefully you'll see they will not help much improving your team.
Now back to some ghost bustin' ;-)

Did I enjoy this game? Yes. It was equal parts nostalgia and well implemented turn-based strategy with interesting mechanics like sanity and overwatch and a lot of different ghost types and equipment. Unfortunately there is only one city map to play in the game, despite the game informing you that you can select others once you complete that map. From what I've gathered that new content has been long promised but devs have obviously put this game aside. Buy it when it's on sale like I did and you'll get your money's worth and hopefully won't be as disappointed as I was on finishing the game.

The game offers some pleasant graphics and really vibrant colours, although some ugly glitches here and there, it is pleasant all the same

The game does suffer with some repetitiveness at certain areas of the game but a fun game nontheless

The game also suffers with some weird bugs and glitches which the developer seemed to have overlooked but they don't hinder the game at all and the UI in this game is simply the most annoying and awkward UI I've ever had the audacity of using

GhostControl Inc. overall, however, is a fun game to play in short bursts!

So much potential that is poorly executed, would love to see a second one done properly.

Pros:
The overworld is done very well with the only exception being you run out of gas too often. I also like the management side of it where you have an upgradeable base. AI competition is also a good way to make it feel a little less empty.

Cons:
Combat is a struggle. The houses are so cluttered with stuff that you end up moving single file through most areas and the combat itself is tedious. Even the mid level ghosts are like tanks that will require several turns of blasting before being able to catch them. I get it that the traps are clunky and cumbersome but the mechanics of them need to be changed. Maybe make it so that ghosts get stunned for a turn or two when you drain their health or something so that you can kick a trap under them instead of always just leading them over your trap then tanking every hit until the RNG gods favor you and you capture the ghost.

Hmm. Es fehlt hier mal wieder ein Mittelmaß... Aber hatte das Spiel schon länger auf dem Recher und jetzt im Sale gekauft. Sogar Erfolge wurden übernommen... o.O

Das Spiel ist natürlich jedermanns Sache und mehr was für die alten Fans.

Was mich stört an dem Spiel, dass es irgendwie an Abwechslung fehlt. Na gut, den Marshmallow Man jetzt durch London laufen zu lassen wäre wohl etwas zu dreist. Aber irgendwelche Storyelement oder andere Dinge würden dem Spiel und der Langzeitmotivation echt zu Gute kommen.

So the two things this game is going to be compared to over and over are Ghostbusters and X-Com. Right of the bat, that's a good thing. What made X-Com special is not just the tactical mission side of the game, but the director side where you maintain your base, research new technologies, and oversee your world defense organization. What made Ghostbusters special was not just the comedy and special effects, but the story of these 3 guys with this crazy idea starting a business, hiring new help, struggling with low funds, and blowing up into a successful organization. Ghostcontrol takes both these ideas and melds them together wonderfully like a tasty peanut butter and jelly sandwich. But how does the game handle the two ideas individually?

When compared to X-Com, Ghost Control is a lot lighter in every aspect. The strategy is shrunk down to just two moves per turn, a smaller number of members in your party, less research opportunities, less ways to spend money, less ways to make money, and overall sort of a watered down version of X-Com. This is great for beginners to the genre, but can feel a little stale if you were expecting a very deep turn based game.

When compared to Ghostbusters, the comedy falls flat, the ghosts are not as imaginative, and the variety of technology is varied but forgettable. The rival companies are a nice touch and overall you can see the Ghostbusters influence and this might scratch your itch if you were really hurting for some Ghostbustin' action.

The graphics are retro and look nice, very similar to the original X-Com. The animation is very poor and I really wish we could get more flavor for the ghost attacks. You hardly ever know what they're doing and what it affects if you don't pay attention to your characters' stats. The sound is just fine but the voice-overs are probably the lowest scoring aspect of the game. This game has an outstanding outline but it lacks flair. It’s not just the notes on the paper, but the musician playing the music that makes something great. This game has the notes, but the guy on the kazoo is not doing it for me.

It's a fantastic idea for a game because too often we just get action shoots from the Ghostbusters franchise and every X-Com clone deals with aliens and gritty darkness. This game really combines the two elements well and it's a fun game, but it needs a lot of work. It needs some better writing for the comedy, it needs some better animators, a slight boost in the art like basic shading, some more imagination in the tech (oh great a get a vacuum cleaner for a weapon) and it needs just more content. I don’t want a 1 point boost in my weapon stats for research, I want to create new technology that’s going to give my company the boost it needs over rival companies.

I'm going to give it a recommendation BUT I would wait for a sale. If you're looking for something as heavy as X-Com, look somewhere else. If, however, you like the idea of X-Com and really enjoy the idea of starting your own Ghostbusters business and you're ok with a light indie game, Ghostcontrol might definitely be for you.

Don't expect this to be a real old-school x-com experience with ghosts. It's not at all as sophisticated, but it has glympses of it. It mostly reminds me of x-com apocalypse, the third game of the series, where you were in a city with competition.

I am about 3 hours in the game and I can't keep playing for long, but still want to play now and then. It's not very addictive, but it has its fun points. It's probably a bit grindy/repetitive. The strategic part has a nice concept but it's always very similar in gameplay.

Sadly, there are bugs:
- Sometimes when you swap inventory items between people, the inventory gets messed up and you don't really know who has what in his inventory. Leaving HQ and going back solves it, but that's something you don't really want to do (and shouldn't have to).
- Also, if you click-e-dy-bit around a bit on the map, you can arrive in place X while the game thinks you are on place Y for some reason. I once drove towards a shop and received a phonecall with a mission, so while driving to the shop, I clicked the mission location (probably multiple times). The car kept driving towards the shop (which was a lot closer) and suddenly, I started the mission at that location. When driving away after the mission, the car flew over the city in a way that is quite impossible.
- Also, sometimes the car goes slow, sometimes fast, sometimes not at all for a certain time.

Bugs aside, it's fun, it has a lot of humour and it's worth a couple of bucks. Buy it on sale (I bought it for 60% off and I think that's the price it should actually be).

The game's theme is brilliant. I've always wanted a Ghostbuster game that tackles the actual business of ghost hunting. So naturally, I backed the game on Kickstarter. Unfortunately, the execution did not live up to my expectations. The combat portions of the game involves pushing and pulling ghosts into a capture device, with very little in variation in equipment. This very quickly gets dull. And on the strategic layer of managing your business, there just simply isn't much to do.

I expected this to be a simplified X-com game that would be fun because of nostalgia. It ended up being way too simple to keep my interest past a few missions.

I was intrigued by the promise of a "ghost business simulator." That is a flat out misnomer. You grind missions to buy things, there is no business simulation going on.

I'm leaving a poor review mainly because I spent $14.99 on this, which is way overpriced. If it had been $3.99 I would have just forgotten about it.

This game has been around a while, and any review I add will just be repeating what others said. After a few hours in it I really feel the need to touch on some high points for those looking at it.

1. The music is amazing! Oldschool (8bit?) style music that has a ghostbusters feel without actually being ghostbusters

2. Dialog that is both verbal and text that is both hilarious and reminiscent of ghostbusters without being ghostbusters

3. A ghostbusting themed casual turn based tactical game

On sale this is worth every penny. At full price it might be debatable.

Only buy this game if its 75% off or more. You'll get 5 hours out of this game and I'll explain why.

The game starts out fun. Its like a combination of the old Ghostbusters game (minus the ghost catching driving sections) for the 128K era mixed with X-Com. You can buy equipment, upgrade equipment, upgrade your HQ and buy new vehicles. So far so good, and then you relise thats it - the game is grindy and repetitive, and not in a fun way like Diable 2

There is little variety in the ghosts and their behaviour, the items don't really work as intended such as the beam weapons. You have a scientist who you can take with you to catch ghosts but they seem to be at a disadvantage so you just leave them at the base.

If you've taken a look a look at the Kickstarter, you can see that 2 additional cities were funded, but there is just London in the game. I feel sorry for anyone who backed the game as they clearly didn't quite get everything they were promised.

Ghost Control Inc seemingly has everything going for it. It's a game where you essentially play team manager for Ghosbusters! And it has a nearly-perfect blend of tactics and management gameplay! What could possibly be more fun?

Unfortunately, the game is marred by several issues.

Firstly, the art direction is uneven at best. Most of the ghosts have very uninspired designs that won't stick in your mind like those of other franchises involving catching ghosts. Several of the ghosts are just recolors or slight redesigns of the lower level ghosts you fight early in the game, so they're both boring to look at and repetitive. This also makes it slightly harder to tell what you're figthing at times.

Secondly, the writing is just atrocious. This isn't a story-driven game by any means, but there's still quite a bit of text, both in item/ghost descriptions and in the dialogue where you're offered missions. It often tries to be humorous but falls incredibly flat, to the point where you'll probably stop reading it after a while. There are also many spelling and grammatical errors throughout the game. The dev team's native language is obviously not english, which explains this problem but doesn't excuse it, as they should really have hired someone who could do a better job localizing the text.

The poor writing also affects the central story, such as it is. Certainly, the real story of the game is just managing your team, but there is an attempt at a mounting threat, but it's very bare bones and unengaging, and marred by more failed attempts at humor. Again, a certain other ghost-catching series knew how to build up a supernatural threat...

Lastly, the game is just incredibly janky and buggy. Crashes are relatively common, items will sometimes not equip properly, the interface will ignore your input, performance will start chugging wildly after playing for more than an hour, certain items and features won't unlock when they're supposed to, and most importantly, saved games will load incorrectly, switching character positions and stats around willy-nilly. It's a very frustrating experience to try to play a full campaign, as the game becomes less and less stable the more you progress and save.

While I would love to recommend this game, I simply can't in the state it's currently in. Some of the problems are down to personal taste, but a buggy game that doesn't save your progress is something that no one should buy.

Getting this game on sale may be the only time to get this game.

With that said I just about experienced all of the game within six hours. The best pull for me, at first, was the busting of Ghosts. Sadly the charm wears off quickly as you realize things peak with better equipment. Any nervousness goes away and not much of a challenge is left. I believe there isn’t much of a game once you hit that point and nothing to really drive towards with all of the bust and making money.

The best part of this game is the art, music, and honestly the humor. I found a lot of it charming and had fun with it for a few hours.

Mostly I would recommend, as is, if the price comes down. If there was an overarching drive for the player to keep going then I’d feel much better about the game and feel it was worth playing the time I spent.

Сильно упрощённый XCOM про охотников за привидениями. 1 город, 2 "базы", 17 типов привидений, десятки видов оружия. Игровой процесс элементарен. На базе покупаем наёмников, снаряжаем их, улучшаем оружие в куцей лаборатории. На глобальной карте гоняем на своей машинке по городу - лечимся, заправляемся, затариваемся в магазинах, выполнем заказы. Их мы получаем по телефону, можно отказаться. На принятую миссию тут же реагируют 2 (на нормальной сложности) ИИ-болванчика, которые мчатся перехватить вызов. Более эти "соперники" ни для чего не нужны. Они не являются прямыми экономическими конкурентами, не разрабатывают своё снаряжение, не получают своих заказов. Они тупо перехватывают твои. Это бесит.

На тактической карте - классический 1й XCOM. Правда, с особенностью - привидение нужно поймать. То есть, обнулить его "энергию" на клетке с ловушкой или бросить оную под "нулевого" призрака и дождаться конца хода. Непойманный полтергейст, даже "убитый", будет действовать как живой. Ещё одной фишкой игры является система "угрозы" - то есть, некоторые виды нечисти летят на того, кто в них стрелял, плюс у оружия могут быть эффекты "притягивания" и "отталкивания". Довольно занятная получается механика с заманиванием противника в ловушки и "пинг-понгом" между охотниками. Тактически значимых разрушений нет, но предметы обстановки ломаются, и их стоимость вычитают из гонорара.

Грфика приятная. Игра постоянно пытается юморить, местами даже успешно. Звуки и музыка отвратительны, отключил сразу. Ачивки, карточки есть. Перевода нет.

Рекомендую поклонникам тактических стрелялок а-ля XCOM и любителям инди со стёбом. Однако контента тут кот наплакал, даже карты очень быстро начинают повторяться. Поэтому не советовал бы покупать за полную цену, но на распродаже или в бандле - самое оно.

Boring and buggy clone of XCom based on Ghostbusters set.

Story: what? set of "and now earn even more money" tasks
Levels: set of 5-8 tiny maps of two types: "you can fire from border to border" and "many rooms for close combat"
Enemies: boooriiiing. or 1-2 shot and gone, or "stay and fire next 10 rounds to kill it". Tactics? Forget.
Eqip: You are not GhostBusters - pioners of ghost hunting and new techs in this area made by yourself. Forget. You are bunch of housewifes traveling between shop A to shop B than to HQ and sometimes at hospital. BUT if you have lab ONE of your people (not more) can spend few days to little upgrade of eqip from shop. Add what you want or something more - forget.
And all this you can put at any place and in any amounts in char eqip slots. Five goggles - not a problem.
Chars: clones without personality. No perks, no skills, five or so stats. Sanity (local HP) and Strength (max weight) - good, other - not needed.
Aaand you can train your team. Only one at a time. 2-5 days... What you say? You rent whole building, travel by helicopter and earn $50000-500000 per month? Only one at one time I said!
Bugs: bought lots of upgrades for car storage? load the game and forget. Reach level 5 objectives? Load the game and forget. And so on...

If you like the original Xcom and the Ghostbusters, You'll love this game. Classic original Xcom gameplay with slightly better graphics and a Ghostbusters-style theme pasted on top of it. Music is reminiscent of the ghostbusters 80's. Voice soundbites of the characters with British accents is nice. It doesn't sound great but it works perfectly. My only issue with the game is recognizing character selection when in battle. Otherwise, the game was made by true Ghostbusters fans for true Ghostbusters fans. They did as much as they could without copyright infringement. They have my utmost respect.

开一家捉鬼公司，每天开着桑塔纳在街上弹射起步去抓鬼，听着一遍又一遍的英伦腔，打着很老式的大概是上个世纪的SLG，混杂着似是而非的时间管理却毫无体验设计，几乎只是随意堆砌了一些要素然后摆了上来做一碗乱炖。这大概就是捉鬼公司的现状。

整体游戏从流程上看，虽然在游戏流程中有很多的任务随机要素，但是游玩过程却几乎没什么意思，游戏的策略系统让人感觉很难受，先打人然后放陷阱这一点将整个场景的意义极度弱化了，说到底也就是卡几个门然后拉鬼推鬼，抓鬼时一股气定神闲的表情也给整个游戏打上了Casual的标签，而SLG讲道理的话就是战略战术的艺术，本来就应该更硬核。

鬼的类型并没有影响其在玩家面前可见的印象，并没有初次登场的魄力，大量纯粹的随机化葬送了玩家的第一次体验，从而让本来就因为Business Simulation变得更加线性的体验缺乏了爆点。

再额外提一下大地图的模式，我玩抓鬼公司大部分的时间是在那张伦敦地图上绕城开车，接到任务之后迅速赶过去。但是对于我来说，开车根本无事可干，除了看所谓的AI公司四处乱跑以外就只有等待。虽然我知道作者想通过给骑车设计一个油量系统，再通过任务完成过程中得去加油站加油，完成后得去总公司清理战果这些设计来营造一个时间管理的系统，但是不得不说，至少在我玩的这么点点时间里，他已经把我的耐心消耗光了。
而且开局第一个任务是搬到大的总部里面，这不按常理出牌啊。

总的来说，体验只能用糟糕来形容，销量差也就十分正常了。

This game is fun. Very fun...but there's not much to it. The game ends after a couple of hours and it tells you to move to a new city that hasn't even been implemented yet. This would be fine for a new game, but this game has been out almost 2 years. There are posts on the message boards from the developers saying they are working on content back in July of 2015. Still nothing new has came. IF you can get this on a sale for a couple of dollars, then great, get it...but don't pay full price. This game isn't completed and doesn't look like it ever will be.

Great idea for a game, but lacks the tactical depth of any of the old-school XComs or other similar titles like JA.

Maps are very small, combat is quite flat, and it lacks RPG elements that would have made the game far better.

Unfortunately this felt like a very binary RTS game:

Answer phone, click shoot, click trap, repeat. With afew annoyances added to hinder you (fuel/health topups and rivals)

Felt very slow and boring, could have livened it up significantly. However the visuals/sound were decent, but not enough for me to play this chore of a game.

Unfortunately I won't be recommending it, although it is ideal for a F2P player as it gets repetitive well within the P2P timeframe.

Enjoyable and fun, worth the money I paid in the sale. A Ghostbusters theme is really a great idea, the whole running a business whilst catching ghosts in a turn based tactial combat sim is something we don't seem to get much of, although Xcom comes close - it's still not ghosts.

Some ideas I would like to have experienced in this game are:
- A new city, the game promises another city but as it stands London is the ONLY city.
- The option to take more than 3 team members. Some ghosts are very difficult to defeat when one of them starts to panic.
- Strategies that work together, like all team members firing at the same time to trap a ghost (much like in the Ghostbusters films).

I realize this is not Ghostbusters the game, it is Ghostcontrol Inc. but the inclusion of Ghostbusters themes are ineveitable. As such, I would recommend this game, but I am slightly dissapointed that it doesn't quite reach my expectations. I am very glad that I played this however.

Short Review: GhostControl Inc.

I finally broke down and bought the game after having it on my wishlist for quite a while so I thought I'd talk about it.

It's a cute little retro-Ghostbuster-em-up where you have you own little paranormal elimination franchise. It hits all the high notes, you have an HQ, a car, gear and you can upgrade stuff. You go out on jobs and try to catch ghosts without wrecking up the scene too bad.

If it had actually come out 20 years ago it would be pretty cool.

Unfortunately, while it covers all the surface expectations the gameplay itself feels really, really shallow. The actual missions are slow and wrote, the commands you give your little busters aren't robust enough to really amount to much more than "Stand here and shoot the ghost until you can trap it" which involves walking up and sitting a trap right underneath it. You will do this over, and over and over again.

If you really need that feeling of owning a Ghostbusters franchise, this will scratch that it, but it won't hold you attention for long. I didn't even manage to upgrade my car before the 'busting' got tedious enough for me to walk away.

Recommendation: Sims 3 with the Ambitions Expansion has a Ghost Hunter career that, if you stick 4 sims with it in the same house, provides a much more satisfying Ghostbusters sim.

TL:DR - 3 Unlicensed Particle Accelerators out of 5, A diehard fan might get some fun out of it but even then you'll be struggling to keep interested.

In a nutshell, what you're basically looking at with Ghost Control is not so much a business simulation game but something more akin to an X-COM with a ghostbusters theme. Just like X-COM, you have to manage and upgrade your HQ, but the HQ management doesn't really require much careful decision making or strategy. It's more like just waiting until you have enough money to purchase a thing and then purchasing it. So there is base management, but it's not complex enough to really feel like a true business sim, and it's frankly not even as complex as the base management in X-COM.

You're going to be doing a lot of tactical battles in this game, and this is another area where the game is basically similar to X-COM but a lot more simplified. You have 2 action points per turn, you fire ranged weapons that have a certain % chance to hit or not based on the particular character's aim stat, and your objective is always to eliminate all ghosts. Where it is different from X-COM is that there are pretty much only two weapons at your disposal: beam guns and traps. However the guns can have different effects (e.g. pushing enemies back, pulling enemies toward you, stunning enemies, multiplying dmg dealt by allies' beams, etc). The traps can also have a range of different perks (e.g. some traps require a ghost to be on the same square, whereas others have an AoE trap effect. Some traps can only be dropped next to you while other traps can be slung a short distance toward the target. Some traps only capture ghosts, while some traps can still stun or dmg a ghost even if failing to capture it, etc).

One thing that is a notably creative feature of this game that makes it more interesting than X-COM or other similar tactical games is the ghost trapping gameplay. This is a truly original idea that in my opinion is the game's most interesting and defining feature. In a lot of these tactical games where you're controlling squads of dudes with guns, you're usually tasked with shooting all the enemies until they are dead or incapacitated. In Ghost Control, all of your enemies are ghosts, so you can't actually kill them. All you can do is shoot them to reduce their "energy level", which can greatly reduce their mobility if low enough, but it also makes them susceptible to being trapped. Your ghost traps have a "max energy level" requirement, which indicates the max energy level ghost it is able to trap. But lowering the ghost's energy level below this maximum makes the trap more likely to succeed. So what you are trying to do is shoot the ghosts to drop their energy level to 0, then position the ghost over a trap to permanently remove it from the field. But remember how beam weapons have certain effects, such as push/pull? This means you can throw a trap on the ground and hurt a ghost AS YOU ARE PULLING it toward you and onto a trap. Or an ally can throw down a trap and you can use a push-type beam to push the ghost onto an ally's trap. Or you can position a ghost on tap of a trap and hit it with a stun-type beam to prevent it from escaping the trap range and boost the odds of a successful trap. This is pushing/pulling ghosts onto traps to eliminate them is an excellent way of capturing the spirit of ghostbusters in a tactical game, and I commend the designers for thinking of it.

One kinda negative thing about the combat is that many of the maps are very cramped for space. You'll be fighting ghosts in a lot of houses and offices, and it really limits your tactical options when the hallways or paths around furniture only allow one ally to pass through at a time. Based on conversation with other players, though, it seems that some people enjoy the challenge of having their mobility greatly restricted in this way. Another positive is that it also restricts the mobility of many ghosts (save for a few ghosts that will teleport or phase through walls). So it could be that you'll find that to be a positive, but just know that residential/office levels put you in VERY tight spaces. The designers realized that the residential/office maps are very cramped, though, so as a counterbalance there are also park/tunnel missions that are more about battling in wide open spaces.

The negative of these tight spaces is not just how it affects gameplay/mobility, though. It also means that there is just a lot of.... STUFF... piled up on the screen. If you are using the default view on residential/office levels, it can be almost impossible to see your characters or where the possible walking paths are. There is some helpful tools in the game to cope with this. For example, walls and furniture become transparent when the cursor is within a certain range. You can also press shift to turn walls and furniture completely off. So there are ways of dealing with it, but some may still be slightly put off by the default view feeling so cluttered.

In terms of the flow of the game, it does feel like it starts to run out of steam after several hours. There are objectives to meet, base upgrades to buy, weapon upgrades to buy, and of course the ghosts will become more challenging. But the game sort of has the same problem as The Elder Scrolls, where at some point you realize that the game basically boils down to 1) kill everything in dungeon, 2) sell everything from dungeon, 3) use money made from selling everything in previous dungeon to buy better things that let you kill everything in an even bigger dungeon, 4) repeat times infinity.

If you love ghostbusters and you love x-com style games, and if you are fine with the old school look/feel, then it may be a game worth checking out.

My verdict using the criteria below is that the game ranks around a 4..

Glad I bought this on sale. The game is great all except for one major flaw. Occassionally when you pick your ghost trpas back up while on the battle grid, the game re-equips it to your character's headslot rather than their hand and makes it so that you can't use it again until you exit the battle you're in and re-equip it properly.

You don't actually manage anything, as there is so little content in the game.
Tactical battles are not very tactical. Low AP, cluttered space, ranged ghost special attacks and low-success-chance traps mean you cannot avoid taking damage, and resort to just tanking with health.

Game is what we really always wanted in a Ghost Busters game. It's easily accessable, has quite a bit of death and can really suck you in for hours! Not to mention it's cheap. The graphics aren't cutting edge but done well, my only complaint is the small selection of voice over stuff from your team members gets a bit repetitive, the ghost fighting however feels fluid and dynamic, keeps you thinking many steps ahead or failing horribly if you aren't careful.

If you enjoy Turn-Based Strategy, Ghost Busters and/or Business Management, there is no way I could recommend this game more highly than I do right now.

Pros: Ghost Busters Simulator (but not so much like Ghost Busters it feels like plagiarism), a great depth of tactics and strategy afforded by different character classes (not so much) and a huge arsenal of weapons with varying abilities (this is what truly adds the depth of strategy), a decent amount of monsters that handle uniquely and require different strategies, decent replayability, great humor in dialogue and missions.

Cons: Buggy achievements, certain combinations of enemies can lead one to feeling like it was a cheap defeat, eventually you WILL run out of things to do (and unfortunately this doesn't take a HUGE amount of time to happen), rather limited party (three in the field at any given time even though you can hire quite a bit more, there just isn't any reason too, especially since stats level up with character usage, it's rarely beneficial to use anything but the same 3 characters in the field.)

Of course, pros and cons paints a pretty limited picture. This game has a lot of interesting systems and mechanics from weapon upgrades, vehicle upgrades and even base upgrades. There is a lot to do in this game and a lot to see, but most people will probably beat in a week with casual play times, a few days with more dedicated time and for the truly dedicated it could easily be beaten in a day.

As much as this game is amazing, and especially with additional content currently in limbo as it's been some time since an update, I would only recommend this game at full price to people who are FANS of all genres this game caters to and fans of the Ghost Buster angle. For everyone else, I recommend waiting til this goes on sale.

Personal Rating: 9/10 (charming pixel graphics, great audio, good controls, amazing game play and content.)
Unbiased Rating: 7/10 (short "campaign", aka list of objectives, buggy achievements, unsure future for the game, steep-ish price for the amount of current content.)

Also, my biggest gripe with this game is how ridiculously overpriced the emotes are, I want to collect them all!

This game is rather hit and miss. The graphics are fun in their own retro style, and the theme works very well with the nostalgia look, but there are some definite rough patches. First and foremost is the cramped level design; I understand urban encounters are the goal, but most of the designs don't allow creative solutions or flanking for strategy. Put a tank in front, give him/her a big gun, and seal the exits. This is not to say the game isn't challenging at times, it's just that most of the challenge comes from conquering high health or high damage monsters.

On the positive side, the gameplay works well and doesn't try to be an epic adventure. It's a point and click combat mechanic based around a goofy B-movie universe. On that metric, GhostControl is a huge success. There is a charming and easily immersive core underneath a very bland exterior. I would recommend it, but be prepared to play for 60-90 minutes at a time. Anything more than that and the game starts to feel a bit tedious.

A surprisingly fun X-Com-style Ghostbusters homage.

The Gameplay takes the driving mechanic of the original Ghostbusters game from the NES, Master System, Commodore 64 era, adds an X-Com battle element and douses it all with a lot of ghostbusting-themed items. Mostly reminiscent of Ghostbusters, there is some Scooby-Doo and other ghostbusting TV show and film references, such as the use of weird, homemade ghost-hunting items that has been a long-running trope far before the Ghostbusters film was made.

In the game, your characters have Sanity instead of health. Once your Sanity gets dangerously low, the character will panic (saves vs Morale) and try to flee. If they lose all of their Sanity, they go insane and it's off to the looney-bin for them (they're dead, Jim)! There are 6 attributes: Sanity (health), Strength (carrying capacity), Constitution (affects movement), Aim (shot percentage), Morale (saves against fleeing), and Intelligence (not sure, will amend when I find out).

There are quite a few items that unlock over time, you can get better cars, your characters level up, you can expand your base, and you can even have your Scientist upgrade certain items to make them better. You will receive jobs through your smartphone, which also controls options, saving, an encyclopedia of the ghosts you've encountered, team management and some other stuff. On the overland map, you have a base, gas stations, a car dealership, and the item store that you can visit. And you're not alone in this map, either. There are two rival ghost exterminators that will take up your jobs if you don't get there quick enough. Basically, you can't just take a job and then sit around. There are linear objectives that will unlock more things over time and present difficult boss-missions.

The graphics are sprite-based and not that amazing. Very simplistic, very cartoon-like, and very much from the Commodore 64 and NES era. Sometimes, the environments can get a bit cluttered, but there are visual modes to hide walls, hide objects, and hide everything (including doors). Ghost types are varied and there is a bit of tactics that can be used trading off damage to push and pull the ghosts towards traps. Some of the levels are small, and some are bit more open, but there usually isn't too much open space, so you need to plan out your movement well. There is a good deal of map variety. You will, obviously, repeat maps, but enemy setups will change and the variety is fairly large. While in combat, you can sometimes destroy furniture, and certain ghosts will destroy furniture, too, such as poltergeists. The amount of furniture destroyed will affect your payout and if too much furniture is destroyed, you will lose the mission.

Sound is simple synth bit-tune stuff, again reminiscent of the older days of games. The music is entertaining enough. It never really grated my nerves, but it is bit-tune kind of music, so don't expect too much. Sound effects are similarly synth-like, and certainly passable. I doubt anyone is going to be knocked over by how amazing the sound is, but it isn't bad and fits with the whole retro motif. The barks from the characters can get rather repetitive, but that's true of nearly every game that has barks.

I've enjoyed the game a lot. It is simple, and there can be times where navigating the maps is a bit more difficult than it should be, but the game does have a lot of depth to it and it does provide a challenge. The sound and visuals all give a solid retro experience, which can be a turn-off for some, but I think it provides a lot of charm and it feels, overall, fairly consistent. The enemies are varied enough that even when you play the same map again, it never plays out the same. Tactics are surprisingly varied, especially once you unlock some of the slingable traps.

I would definitely recommend this title, especially if it on sale.

This is a very good concept and awful execution.
The UI is clumsy, controls seriously lacking in any design and there is no real depth to this game. Gamapley is also riddled with, lack of, design where you receive mission calls at random times, and random positions with random stength that you won't know until you get on site and realize that your single crew member, because you've just started, is not good enough to go against 6 ghosts, hell you don't even have that many traps on you!
Progression is also very liniear and non-imaginative, as new weapons are simply +1s to various stats and super powers, quirky abilities are rare to come and see.

A fun retro style game. Reminds me of Ghostbusters (which I think it's suppose to) and the one liners the characters say while on a job are funny. The team managing isn't too complicated and is fairly straight forward. Though I will warn you once you upgrade from the 1st to the 2nd headquarters the ghosts get harder so make sure you've got your team well kitted out before you upgrade or you'll have a hard time with the tougher ghosts.

Причем, нужно еще не прогореть - следить за финансами, заправлять машину, покупать снаряжение, платить аренду за офис. Ловушки с привидениями после заданий надо не забывать опустошать в офисе. Урон, полученнный от привидений на заданиях, нужно лечить в больнице. За деньги. А, пока едешь на задание (или если решил свернуть на заправку по дороге), его могут увести конкуренты.
Бои с привидениями пошаговые. А карта работает в реальном времени (которое можно поставить на паузу) и звонок может поступить в любое время.

+/- Just a few things to buy for your base, therefore moving to a bigger building doesn't really do anything except to give you the illusion that you're getting bigger as a company
+/ Insanity is a cool mechanic but instead of permanently limiting your character for the entirety of a battle (for example, by limiting your AP, or decreasing weapon damage) they become completely useless when the bar is (almost) depleted
+/- Buildings can feel small and crowded, some of them not built with a few of the unlocked weapons in mind (weapons that require a certain distance before you can actually fire them)

- A couple of gamebreaking bugs
- Upgrading your crew not really worth it if you have to wait for longer periods, especially if they could go insane later on
- Competitors don't really influence your business, feels underused

Small note: the game would've been more fun if it was in 3D I think, giving you a better overview by using a rotating camera. But obviously I understand the decision to make it 2D, as it probably would've cost much, much more.

I've had a lot of fun playing through GhostControl Inc. The game merges turn-based strategic combat with business management to allow you to run your own ghost hunting business while busting the ghosts with the team you put together. As you advance through the game, you'll be able to upgrade things like your headquarters and vehicle, as well as hire (or fire) new hunters that have different classes (such as shooter, scientist and brawler.) With an upgraded headquarters, you'll be able to pay for training for any of your ghost hunters in order to improve their skill set. The weapons and traps are also upgradeable through research, so you can improve the weapons in your arsenal as well as purchasing new weapons and traps (that can also be upgraded).

A typical mission will start with a call coming in on your phone with someone telling you about their haunting, and you have the option to accept the mission or hang up on the caller. If you accept the mission, a ghost icon will appear on the map where the mission is to take place. You'll need to speed your team over there as quickly as you can, as there are rival ghost hunting businesses in the game that will get there first (if given enough time). This is where the faster vehicles come into play, as they will give you an advantage in speeding to your next mission. If a rival company makes it to the mission location before you, then the mission is cancelled out for you, and you'll have to wait for your next call. Once you arrive at the mission, you and your crew will be responsible for rounding up all the ghosts there using your weapons and traps. If a crew member's 'sanity' stat drops too low, they'll go running from the mission, leaving the rest of your crew to finish cleaning up the haunting. Once you've completed capturing all the ghosts on the premises, you'll want to swing by the hospital to cure any fears (lowered stats) that are affecting your crew, then head back to HQ to store the ghosts. Stored ghost energy can be sold, but you may not want to sell it all, as you'll need some ghost energy (as well as cash) in order to upgrade your weapons and traps.

The art style is decidedly retro, and does a good job of giving you the feeling of playing the classic "Ghostbusters" game from the old Commodore 64 days. While I'm happy with the advancements we've made in graphics technology since the days of the C64, this is one of those games that brilliantly shows that it is the gameplay, and not the graphics, that really make or break a game. A game can have the prettiest graphics on the planet, but if the gameplay doesn't back it up, then it doesn't make for much of a game. Here, the opposite can be expected. Very old-school styled graphics on top of a great game make it a great game, period.

It took me a little over 11 hours to complete the game, without rushing through. Fortunately, when the game's 'campaign' is finished, you have the option to keep playing so you can keep on busting ghosts. According to the developer, they have two more cities planned for the future (Cologne and San Francisco), so we can expect more ghost busting fun in the future. They have not specified whether the additional cities will be made freely available or if they'll be paid add-ons, though I would expect the latter, and frankly have no complaint about paying for some add-on cities since the price of admission for the main game is so low to begin with.

Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the original Ghostbusters game on the Commodore 64, and to anyone who enjoys a game with a solid retro vibe that is a good blend of turn-based strategy and business management.

Now I dont usually write reviews So when I take the time to write about a game you know its special. As a long time fan of ghostbusters I always dreamed of starting a company where I can catch ghosts unfortuntly the technolgy is still not there and ghosts are not a huge problem(Some day though who knows a man can dream) Thankfully GhostControl Inc. Lets me fufill that dream by letting me manage my own ghostbusting company and also catch ghosts in a simple to learn hard to master comabt system(Think X-com but with ghosts) Now Dear reader I hear you say But user man this sounds too good too be true surley thier must be some kind of catch Well first of all dont call me surely and secondly your right the game has some light bugs and an interface that might take a while to figure out(maybe like 5 missions) But considering how dirt cheap it is at the time of writing and also just how much love and hardwork went into this by the awesome developers you would be a fool not to check it out AT LEAST FOR YOUR OWN SAKE TRY THE DEMO.

La réponse est simple : si tu aimes X-Com, oui. Si tu aimes GhostBusters, oui. Si tu aimes les jeux de stratégie au tour par tour, oui. Si tu aimes la qualité, oui. Si tu aimes les développeurs réactifs et en prime habiles avec leur communauté, oui. Si tu aimes te priver des plaisirs que procurent les perles inattendues, non. Maintenant déguerpis.
... Je déconne.
GhostHunter Inc. n'a probablement qu'un défaut. Ce n'est pas son interface un poil saugrenue et pas hyper intuitive, ce n'est pas ses soucis de gestion des couches d'interface qui te poussent parfois à faire un déplacement dont tu ne voulais pas, ce n'est pas la gestion parfois hasardeuse de la pause et des coups de téléphone ; non, tout ça s'oublie vite tant le cœur reste intact. Non, son gros problème... C'est PUTAIN QU'EST-CE QUE LA MUSIQUE DE LA MAP PREND LA TÊTE.
C'est tout dire ou presque que d'en arriver là. Le jeu est plombé de petites imperfections qui, si elles n'ajoutent pas au charme, ne diminuent pas de grand-chose l'expérience.
Parce que bon, au final, c'est ça l'important : l'expérience. Le fun ? Il est là, en tonneaux droit importés de Cthulhu sait quel vignoble bien planqué qui raviraient à peu près n'importe qui (enfin, si on est pas entièrement réfractaire au combat tactique sauce X-Com). L'immersion ? Bah pas mieux, le passage du temps réel au tour par tour et vice versa se fait sans que cela se ressente. L'expérience ? Vous pouvez tout améliorer (enfin, je dis tout, ce n'est pas tout à fait vrai. Plutôt une bonne tranche d'un peu de tout... ou quelque chose comme ça), vous devrez gérer les adversaires tant fantomatiques qu'humains (puisque votre compagnie n'est pas la seule sur le coup, loin s'en faut), il vous faudra l'air de rien penser à planifier vos trajets et à ne pas laisser vos chasseurs de fantômes devenir dingues si vous ne voulez pas gâcher du combustible et perdre une partie ou la totalité du cash qui vous aurait servi à payer le loyer et les troupes, tout y passe ; et ça rend le tout diaboliquement efficace.
Les voix sont... Bah, permettez ? Les voix, je vais me permettre d'y revenir un peu plus tard.
Le son est efficace, suffisamment discret pour ne pas irriter tout en gardant bien l'esprit du thème imposé.
Y en a-t-il pour son argent ? Très honnêtement, pour avoir déjà goûté la version non-Steam... Oui, et plus encore. Rien que la version non remasterisée valait bien tout ça, alors avec les ajouts de celle-ci, la question ne se pose même pas. Et quand on pense que Bumblebee va en prime rajouter de nouvelles villes... My money is ready. Enfin, en début de mois, surtout, mais je n'hésiterai tout de même pas.
Les défauts du jeu ont déjà été largement évoqués plus hauts, mais permettez donc que j'y revienne (et là on sent toute l'habileté mise dans cette tournure, rappel discret (ou pas) de celle plus haut et... rhââââ. Ahem.)
Hormis les différents problèmes mineurs, concernant presque tous l'interface et sa gestion, GhostHunter Inc. a donc deux soucis majeurs : la faible variété ressentie de sa musique, et sa traduction.
La VF n'est déjà pas aidée par la perte sans avertissement des voix. Voix qui sont au demeurant tout à fait correctes, hein. Je veux dire, on a pas affaire à Bethesda, mais on ne ressent pas particulièrement d'amateurisme dedans.
Par contre, on ressent clairement le peu d'attention apportée à cette pierre angulaire qu'est la traduction. C'est... Ouais, en un mot, c'est immonde. C'est pas aussi infect que d'autres jeux indépendants, mais suffisamment pour donner envie de hurler : approximations, incohérences, raccourcis faciles, mot à mot, fautes d'orthographe et de grammaire, abréviations louches, tout y passe. Pas assez pour demander une refonte complète, mais... Euh... si, en fait. Pas de A à Z, mais elle aurait GRAND besoin d'un bon coup de balai et du passage d'un mec qui sait à peu près ce qu'il fait dans ce domaine (ressource rare, j'en conviens). Il s'agit - à nouveau - d'un bel exemple de méconnaissance de la chose par les développeurs/éditeurs.
Bref, l'expérience se voit tronquée d'un élément relativement important (et pourtant c'eût été viable, des voix en anglais, puisque les phylactères en sont théoriquement la traduction). Ne reste ici que les mots, qui sont en prime bancals.
De même, pour comble de l'ironie, le(s) traducteur(s) a pris grand soin de laisser les noms d'armes et d'entreprises en anglais (ce qui peut se justifier), mais ne s'est pas privé pour balancer allégrement une référence qui fait tache à La France a un Incroyable Talent. Ce qui enfonce le dernier clou du cercueil de cette œuvre inachevée et à tout le moins baroque. Voire.
À acheter les yeux fermés donc, et à jouer en anglais de préférence.

This is a really cute and fun mashup between two iconic old games, X-Com / UFO (The original, not the remake) and the old Ghostbusters game. A great deal of care has been made to give the game a very specific and consistent 'feel' . Expect siimple but rewarding mini-battles wih spooks, between battle planning/logistics, endless popular references and snarky one liners.

Developers are active on Steam, quick to respond and very personable.

Essentially a modern day non IP related version of the classic Ghostbusters game from the 80s. Great music despite not having any of the actual tracks from the movie and the gameplay of running a "Ghost Control" business was fun. The only catch is that there isn't much meat to the gameplay either in terms of running the business or capturing ghosts. But it's a great foundation and something that I hope we see developed further or get a fully fleshed out sequel from.

from what i've played so far the game is great. loved it straight away because i was itching to play this since i saw it a while ago on youtube and i haven't encountered any bugs so far so that is great but i also believe there will be new cities added in (hopefully, would make for some change of scenery). but all in all, i would recommend this to any strategy/ turn based games (and any fans of ghostbusters ;) ) anyway i hope my review helped anyone in purchasing this very enjoyful game. Also i just found out you need to progress and complete most of your main objectives before you can get all the other cool and awesome upgrades (they are really cool by the way :P). For a small team of developers, they have made themselves a gem of a game and i enjoy it quite a lot :). recommend all the way

GhostControl Inc. is an enjoyable turn based game with some management sim flavor. The closest game I can think of would be XCOM, but in GhostControl you are running a ghost hunting company (think Ghost Busters) instead of running a secret government agency tasked with defending earth from alien attack.

In GCE you'll have to manage your team, a base, and your car. You can recruit additional members for your team from your home office and must keep their sanity maintained, periodically visiting a hospital to "repair" that sanity. Your base is where you'll drop off your ghost goo and perform various other tasks. And while out roaming the town waiting for calls from new potential clients, you have to remember to keep the car gassed up with a few gas stations around the town.

*[While the game is actually quite enjoyable from my experiences thus far, there are a couple minor issues that can be frustrating. One such issue is the fact that every time you select a team member for their turn, their inventory screen pops up in the bottom middle of the screen blocking your view (they can be moved and if you remember to move them, and not close them, on your first couple turns it's easily fixed).]

All in all though, a very enjoyable game. I'd give it a solid 8/10 from my experience so far.

Duplicating items, fights that don't end when you've beaten the enemies (and won't even let you quit the game because you can't continue it), a variety of other serious glitches, and the bare-bones tutorial make for a frustrating experience. GhostControl Inc. would be quite fun if it weren't full of game-breaking bugs. Here's hoping the developers fix their game soon.

Ever since that fateful incident with my neighbor lady's cat and a vacuum cleaner (sorry Cinnamon!), I've tried to find a healthy outlet for my ghost busting fantasies. Until now it has been fruitless. UNTIL NOW. "Ghost Control Inc." provides such an outlet. Part management sim, Part XCOM combat/base strategy, this is a fun little distraction of a game. You name your starting character (My guy is Fat Indiana... you'll know him when you see him) and start your own paranormal cleaning service (I named mine the Ghost Murderers). Time passes as you sit in HQ, upgrading, hiring, firing, and managing equipment - that is until your cell phone rings and your services are required. Then you load up your vehicle, prep your team, and head out; make sure to beat the competition there.

Combat is deceptively simple. Your team opens doors, turns on lights, and encounters nasty ghoulies. Hit them with your lasers until they're worn down and lay down a trap. It's pretty satisfying to wreck ghosts in a fun, lighthearted atmosphere. Your team will suffer physical (and mental) wear-and-tear, so you'll have to swing by the hospital. Your car needs gas, so you'll get that too. And obviously as your business expands, the ghosts will amp up their game. You'll need to buy more equipment and hire new people.

If you like XCOM, if you're a fan of management games, or if you have fond memories of a certain iconic franchise, I can recommend this wholeheartedly. I've just got one question: who ya gonna call?

Die Ähnlichkeit mit "Ghostbusters" (gute alte C-64 Zeiten) ist gegeben, wenn auch dieses Spiel um einiges umfassender ist. Während man damals grade einmal vom "Compact", über den 1963 Hearse (Ecto-1 ;) ) , dem Stationwagon (größter Kofferraum) oder dem schnelleren, aber weniger Frachtkapazität vorhaltenden "High Performance" wählen konnte, gibt es
hier noch einen Helikopter. Auch die "Staubsauger" erinnern massiv an die auf dem Rücken getragenen Protonenpacks (die "nicht-lizensierten Nuklearbeschleuniger"). Während damals noch alles ziemlich flach, sprich zweidimensional, dargestellt wurde, ist hier immerhin schon eine Iso-3D-Ansicht geboten (die vom Handling her an das alte XCOM erinnert). Außerdem wird hier rundenbasiert gehandelt und die Aktionspunkte wollen taktisch klug eingesetzt sein.

Das Setup findet diesmal in London statt und nicht in New York. Außerdem sind Konkurrenten unterwegs, die einem grade anfangs den einen oder anderen Auftrag vor der Nase wegschnappen. Es ist also Eile geboten, um an das nötige Kleingeld zu kommen. Mit diesem kann man dann aus einem wachsenden Angebot an Ausrüstungsgegenständen auswählen (es wird wesentlich mehr angeboten, als damals), um seine "Geisterfänger" ausuzstatten. Da gibt es nur ein winzig kleines Problem: Diese Gegenstände besitzen teilweise Mindestanforderungen, die man erstmal erreichen muss. Zum Glück kann man sein Hauptquartier ausbauen. Das erste hat allerdings nur Platz für ENTWEDER einen Trainingsraum, ODER ein kleines Forschungslabor. Da ist guter Rat teuer. Learning by doing im Feld oder doch besser in den eigenen vier Wänden üben? Letzteres kostet Geld, ersteres bringt sogar noch ein wenig was, wenn denn der Auftrag erfolgreich ausgeführt wurde.

Hat man einen Auftrag überstanden, dann muss man danach zumindest wieder ins HQ zurück, um die Fallen zu entleeren, aber auch ein Besuch im Krankenhaus kann angeraten sein, wenn der eine oder andere Geisterfänger (Absicht!) von den paranormalen Erscheinungen in Mitleidenschaft gezogen wurde.

Es gibt einige kleine Gags, was die Anrufe betrifft (diesmal auf dem Smartphone, das auch gleichzeitig das Spielmenü beinhaltet). Über Anrufe wird man nicht nur auf Geisteraktivitäten hingewiesen, sondern auch auf neue Angebote in den Ausrüstungsläden.

Was ich bisher zu dem Spiel sagen kann (ich habe ja noch nicht lange gespielt):

Besser, als die damalige C-64-Version. Schön ist was anderes, aber es ist zweckdienlich und ausreichend. Vom Hocker reisst mich das nicht, aber für den Preis kann man nicht wirklich meckern.

Ein Mini-Tutorial bringt einem die grundlegenden Aktionen bei. Es gibt nicht viele Auswahlmöglichkeiten und das wenige erklärt sich recht gut selbst. Gehen/Schiessen, Falle aufstellen, Falle einsammeln, Tür öffnen, Licht einschalten, "Guard" (Aktionspunkte aufbewahren und auf sich bewegende Geister schiessen), Runde beenden, Scanner nutzen, Flüchten

Äh ja. Rette London vor dem Super-GAU der Geisterflut und sei dabei schneller, als die Konkurrenz.

Für alteingesessene und eingefleischte "Ghostbusters"-Fans wie mich ist dies wohl eine leidlich ausreichende Neufassung. Wer allerdings High-End-Unterhaltung (grafisch, Ego-Perspektive, Action) erwartet mit Spannung und Abwechselung, der ist hier wohl fehl am Platz. Bei "GhostControl Inc." wird mehr Micro-Management gefordert, was durchaus seinen Reiz hat.

Was mir in dem kurzen Anspielen jedoch aufgestoßen ist:
Meine Teammitglieder haben ihre Aktionspunkte verbraucht, die Geister sind dran und bringen einen dazu panikartig zu flüchten. Hierbei kam dann das Spiel durcheinander und hat in der Übersicht den falschen aus der Liste entfernt und gleichzeitig die Runde nicht sauber beendet. Somit hing ich nun ohne Aktionspunkte in einer Dauerschleife fest und konnte nicht einmal die Runde beenden, in der Hoffnung, das ich mit dem letzten noch etwas reissen könnte. Das wird hoffentlich noch rausgepatcht.

Ich sage mal "Ja" als Empfehlung, aber auch nur, weil es mich an die guten alten Zeiten erinnert. Für jeden, der nicht begeistert auf dem C-64 "Ghostbusters" gezockt hat, würde ich hiervon abraten. Der Preis ist jedoch ok und man macht nicht so viel falsch. Ich finde nicht, dass ich eine Fehlinvestition getätigt habe. Es macht mir Spaß, und das ist es doch, worauf es ankommt, oder? ;)

Seems like a rather nice casual TurnBasedStrategy game. Simple mechanics (for a turnbased veteran at least, but not too simple that it gets booring) that are still rather engageing and forgiving.

Small quick maps, that can still potentially overwhelm you.

It's not X-com: Ufo Defense or Jagged Alliance 2. (Or the newer ones: Xenonauts or JA: Flashback) but still lots of fun.

The turorials are nice and clear. The random newscasts are somewhat entertaining :D

I have not had any problems with it so far.
