Storyline

The row system helps to keep the JRPG genre feeling fresh and provides fertile ground for rewarding, strategic combat encounters. Map making is a highlight of the Etrian Odyssey series, and this trend continues as it had in the original Nintendo DS and 3DS releases; map-creation is intuitively adapted to accommodate a single screen, an aspect of Etrian Odyssey that was of personal concern when learning of the HD Collection's upcoming release following its announcement in the summer of 2023. Just as well, the music and art direction are of an equally high quality and, when paired with Etrian Odyssey's map-making, help to make the series stand-out among its contemporaries even now, 19 years after Etrian Odyssey 1's initial release.

Unfortunately, Etrian Odyssey HD does not include any of the work present in Etrian Odyssey Untold: the Millennium Girl. Etrian Odyssey HD, in spite of this, is still a spectacular experience worth the time of anyone who is a fan of JRPGs and Dungeon Crawlers alike.

ゲームの内容知ってる方向けのただの感想文です。
世界樹シリーズというかアトラスゲー自体初です
難易度BASICで25層エンディング到達　多少クエストこなしつつ大体35時間くらい？途中からメンツ変え、最終的にパラ・ダークハンター・メディック・レンジャー・アルケミストの5人が主体となり55～59レベルにて25層ボス撃破しました。　医療技術スキルが頭おかしいくらい防御性能上がるのでパラに挑発入れて医療技術だけで大体どうにかなりました。
スキル振り直しでパラからフロントとバッグガードは0ポイントにして挑発と防御力スキルに降り、シールドスマイトで火力要員にもなって貰いました。　ダークハンターはドレインバイト撃ち続けてれば即死しない限り死なないので守る必要なし！
レンジャーは採掘・採取・伐採　合計20ポイントくらい振っててもダブルショットだけで問題もなし
終盤辺りになるともう防御捨てて如何に攻撃される前に相手を殲滅する方が楽でしたね(一部FOEを除く)
メディックのキャンプ措置MAXならTP消費も節約出来、むしろメディック以外にアムリタ・アムリタ２がぶ飲みしてもらいました　火力が正義！
とはいえボス戦各種は結構ギリギリでの戦いばかりでしたのでゴリ押しで行くのは結構きついゲームだった感じです、エキスパートの難易度これより高いんやろ？ヤバくね？って思いましたね。
２０～２５層は攻略にすごい時間がかかりましたショトカも必死で探しましたがどこにもない・・・警戒歩行を持っておらず1000円の鈴を買って、戦闘から逃げ続けやっとのことでボス戦　いや本当ショトカないやん・・・
26層に足を踏み入れましたが、リマスター２をやりたいので一旦26層から先の裏ボスとやらは置いといて２やりに行ってきます26層入って何度もワープで戻されちょっとダメージ入ってるので・・・さすがにちょっと攻略見ないと辛いかもです　１もかなり楽しめて２やりつつ他プレイヤーの世界樹１HD実況(ボイスロイドのみ)ラジオ感覚で見つつ進めて行こうと思ってます。
結構ハマってしまったので３DSでしか出てない世界樹迷宮４以降のシリーズもやってしまうかもしれないですね
スチームで新・世界樹含め世界樹シリーズ出してくれたら嬉しい限りです

A really good game that just remind me of the simpler times on DS. The map being made by you based on the exploration is such a changing and fresh things in RPG, however i wouldn't really recommand this one for new players. This one is still their first draw and test with this mechanic and compare to the 4 and 5 ( sadly on DS stil ) or even 2 and 3 its a bit plain in the character choice and mechanic gameplay. But it's still a blast if you want to play the full trilogy.

Playing this game is the most fun I've had in a dungeon crawling game. If I searched for dungeon crawling RPG most people on the review will sometimes compare it to Etrian Odyssey and how they're itching to play Etrian Odyssey likes games. So I tried playing this game and it exceeds my expectation. The dungeon crawling is really fun and not gonna lie creating map for each floor in the dungeon is pretty rewarding. You can label mining spots, tell where the hidden path and put an icon for a place you can't access yet. The battle in this game consists lots of strategy so building your team right is most crucial because you will die a lot of time. This is coming from someone who starts with the expert difficulty which IS the ORIGINAL DIFFICULTY of the game. It is really harsh and not welcoming at all which makes me understands why lots of people don't recommend playing the first game as the start of the series. But let's be honest, that is just an excuse because newer games are better and balanced. The first game is already really good even though it is unforgiving. So if you're up to the challenge to play a hard dungeon crawling rpg where you map out the dungeon as you play, buy this game. If you think the game is too hard just play the game on basic or picnic. You can change the difficulty later on if you want to try the original difficulty which is expert.

I got this because it was on sale and liked the idea of needing to map out the dungeon.

I haven't even finished fighting the first boss and I already plan on fully beating this game and the rest of the series.

If you like slow dungeon crawls and retro turn based combat, then it's perfect.

By slow, I mean expect to go back and forth from camp several times to map out a single floor, then do it again for 4 more floors, then re-explore as you unlock new paths.
I like that, but I understand others may not. There is a easy difficulty to speed it up slightly (via a 50% exp gain bonus, among other difficulty adjustments), and all the animations can be sped up, which can help depending on how slow you want it.

It's a remake of an DS game, which is where the mapping part makes more sense, although this leads some controls being a bit clunky, especally on controller (I haven't actually tried using keyboard, just controler).

Another thing, the game doesn't give you any information, so you'll have to consult the wiki for what stats actually do or how much damage a skill does.

世界樹の深淵を探求する3DダンジョンRPG

*進行上で取り返しのつかない要素は一つ、「ギルド名の変更はできない」だけです。
エンディング後に2へのほんのちょっとお得な引継ぎ要素があるので1から遊ぶと良いです。

*REMASTERになり難易度選択できるようになりましたが、オリジナル版の難易度はBASICではなくEXPART。
被、与ダメージに20%のダメージ補正があり結構きついけど遊びがいがあります。

自分の好きなキャラクターを作って脳内ロールプレイしながらボコボコにやられる楽しさのあるRPG。
自分でマッピングをしないといけないのが魅力だけど、めんどうならオプションである程度オートにすることも出来る。

リソース管理しながら色々なキャラクターを育てて冒険していく楽しさの詰まった良いゲームでした。

Not a terrible game but pretty bad as far as blobber/crawlers go. The first real boss, which is a boss and 6 minibosses at once, requires you to be lvl 25-30 grinding like mad or build a specific party up to 20 because your gear will suck and youll get wrecked otherwise. If you have to grind for endless hours to start playing thats bad game design.

Skip this one and the second game.

Appealing to those looking for a truly classic dungeon-crawling RPG experience.
It is a game laser-focused on the feeling of scraping through hostile and wonderous territory step-by-step, learning via trial-and-error. The commitment it exhibits to that end is both for the better and worse; if any of that sounds annoying to you, it will be.

If the fantasy of bouncing between a cozy little explorer's town and a parade of infinite monsters wanting to stop you from exploring a neat set of dungeon biomes sounds good, then it will be!

돈 노가다는 5계층 가고 포탈 바로 옆에 채굴 있으니 채쿨스킬 10렙 찍고
5계층 바로 앞에서 왔다 갔다 하면 허접 오니까 걔네들 잡고 1렙들 2~3마리씩 10렙 만들면됨
솔직히 포탈 앞에 캘거 있으면 걍 아무 데서나 되는 듯

6계층은 클리어 엔딩 이후인데 노가다+종결급 장비를 일본위키보고 필수로 맞춰야 마지막 까지 도달 가능인데
노가다 캐릭이 커스메이커여서 그냥 여기까지 시간도 존나 오래걸린다

그리고 스킬 한개 배우면 그걸로 끝났으면 하는데
메이플, 던파 마냥 스킬 한개 투자 하는데 10업해서 10포인트 박아야 하니 까 좀 그렇네
스킬 잘못 올리면 렙 떨구고 초기화해서 귀찮으니
미래 생각해서 스킬 투자하고 막보 잡을때가 55렙이니까 55포인트 미리 생각해서 투자

게임 첨 시작할 때 1층 지도 그리는 튜토리얼 퀘스트 자신이 직접 임의로 지형을 안가봤는데 미리 그리거나 하면
버그 걸리는거 같음
다 그렸는데 안되면 처음부터 다시 해야 됨

I'll continue to beat these games over the head for the base price being a crime against humanity. Have sales be sales and not mandatory for being able to get the game at a reasonable price. Pricing aside this is the first etrian game and its...rough. The maze feels more maze like this time around and the quests are more old school RPG style. There's no sub classing and the skill economy is very unbalanced. It's rough overall but still worth playing. The last two stratums are some of the most memorable in the series, so it's got that going for it.

I absolutely loved this game as a kid, however the woke crybaby left (who has never learned how to "git gud" and who gets their wife's boyfriend Tyrone to beat bosses for them) has inserted two new difficulties, "picnic" and "casual"; while also labeling the normal, default difficulty of the original as "expert".

Only get this game if you like old school dungeon crawlers and drawing maps and if you intend to play on Expert as God intended, otherwise if you play on any of the easier modes then you deserve to be forced into a work camp until you do enough hard physically labor that you learn how to be a real man that mows his own lawn.

Edit: This is still just as fun and addicting as I remember. I absolutely love this game.

I played this game twice; Once in basic, and my 100% run was in expert (the original difficulty of the DS version). The basic difficulty is very fair and balanced, so if you die, it was likely due to a lack of preparation and/or a skill issue. The expert difficulty isn't too bad either. I would recommend items for the last floor of stratum 4 and the boss of stratum 6 but a protector, medic, and survivalist will do the heavy lifting most of the time. Skills get a more noticeable boost at levels 1, 5, and 10 in case you aren't sure where to allocate points.

* A dark hunter can help you with bosses
* Troubadour has good buffs, bows are the best to equip them with
* An alchemist will serve you better if you decide to go through Claret Hollows (dark hunter and troubadour can help with that boss too)

Across both difficulties, the mapping and item pricing are excellent. The expanded map options compared to the original was a sigh of relief since that meant I could leave notes for myself and even paint a path for later. As for the shops, you have to provide the required items first. Stock can (and will) run out, prompting you to restock the stores with the ingredients harvested again from the labyrinth. Even after 100% completion, I could not afford to purchase more than one ultimate weapon. Similarly, you need to be frugal with your money during your playthrough, but money is not scarce enough to require hoarding (except for one achievement). FOEs are a challenge at first, but once you reach the third stratum you can take them out pretty easily on both difficulties.

That being said, if you want to explore all of Claret Hollows (or try to 100% the game), then my review is slightly different. I would not recommend the postgame to anyone who is not a masochist. I would also advise that you bring an Alchemist if you don't want to escape most battles. Luckily, the postgame final boss has a set attack pattern that alternates between exact elemental attacks and using a pool of physical attacks (make sure your party can resist instant death). A protector with level 5 or higher anti element shields and a medic that uses a boosted level 10 immunize should help you get the job done.

If you are stuck trying to get the dragon scales: Quicksave before fighting the boss in question. Kill the dragon, then reset and fight one more basic enemy than your last attempt before fighting the boss again if the scale didn't drop. Rinse and repeat this and you should be able to get the scale in less than 11 attempts with this method.

Don't be ashamed to use picnic mode. This game is a good dungeon crawler, but play Etrian Odyssey 3 or Labyrinth of Refrain if you aren't familiar with the genre.
