"if it aint broke, don't fix it"
It's EDF 5 with more enemy types, and some much needed polish. It's hard to determine how much of this is new content vs old, so some of it feels recycled,... At the same time, the enemy variety is much greater this time around, which helps refresh the game. It's a mix of existing content and new content, I'll update this review when I finish the game to determine how much of the content is new vs old.

Несмотря на то что EDF6 выглядит как EDF5 и на половину состоит из несколько изменненных миссий пятой части, тут действительно много как гемлпейных улучшений в сравнении с 5 частью, так и большое количество новых, крайне раздражающих, противников. За неплохим сюжетом теперь следить проще благодаря субтитрам. Но дороговато, это да.

いつもの地球防衛軍なのですが、おすすめとおすすめしないの中間な感じです

まず、今回も武器やアーマーの自動回収がありません
MODで自動回収ができるようになるけど公式で対応するべきだと思う

ストーリー上、ステージがほぼ同じ内容のものを何回も繰り返すのでもういいよってなる
あと5の使いまわしも多い
5の後の世界で復興していくのか滅びるのかそういうのを期待してたのになあ

ゲームとしてはいつもの地球防衛軍なので好きな人は遊べるとは思います

There's a LOT of things to adjust to coming from EDF 5 to 6 but this has got to be the most over the top EDF game I've played yet. Cleared the whole game on hard as fencer and going back through on inferno, the only thing I can really say is bad is the pacing of the first third of the game, once you get beyond that introductory phase of the game the way it escalates over and over again is incredible. Also has a lot of plot for an EDF game, I won't spoil anything for you, if you liked 4 and 5 you're in for something special if you see this one through.

It's so far the best EDF and most coherent in story. Or more like they finally stitched together a believable story to their chaotic mess of missions. Which are mostly pretty good, barring a couple very repetitive ones that pop up, some for "plot" reasons. But most of these also become rather cathartic to "repeat" later on in the story, for "reasons" that finally make story sense.

If you're new to EDF, it's the best one so far. A lot of new enemies and missions and weapons that scale to absurd ridiculousness. Play normal through the first 20 missions, it may feel easy, and that's fine. Then dip into hard and discover how much harder the game gets. You get better loot though. This helps, but doesn't completely replace the difficulty. And there's still two more difficulties after that, which unlock you the other half of the weapons after you beat the game once.

If you've played EDF, you know what you're getting into, and frankly still a great buy. Feel free to be patient though and wait for a sale. There's a lot of missions they recycle pretty blatantly. But it's nice it makes more sense when and where it happens in the story.

The classes also got rebalanced and the Ranger actually became good, but this is coming from someone who has only ever ran Ranger.

It still has the stupid loot system. I recommend an auto-collector of some form. But that being said, Probe got buffed since Ranger did, so it's a little less terrible as-is. It's just a little too grindy for annoying reasons and pads out playtime a bit. Which the game already has tons of missions and content now which adds a little too much onto what's really plenty on it's own to go through.

지구방위군 5에서 이어지는 이야기로, 여태 짝수 시리즈들이 그랬듯 해당 세계관을 마무리하는 내용으로 구성되어 있다.

이번 테마는 시간 여행으로 지구방위군 5 엔딩 이후 끝나지 않은 프라이머의 음모와 이를 이겨내기 위한 주인공과 프로페서의 영겁의 노력을 담고 있다.

그렇기 때문에 구조상 지구방위군 5가 계속 반복되는 느낌이 없지 않다.
하지만 이를 치차하더라도 기본적인 구조는 동일하고, 좀더 개선된 플레이를 지원하기 때문에 확장팩 같은 느낌으로 보면 좋겠다.
단... 지구방위군 5에서 이미 뽑아먹을만큼 뽑아 먹은 플레이어라면 재미가 없을 수도 있겠다.

온라인에는 모드 유저들이 많아서 정석 플레이를 희망한다면 따로 공지를 하고 진행하는걸 권장한다.
6으로 입문한 플레이어라면, 레인저로 본편을 클리어한 뒤, 온라인 플레이로 다른 병과들도 플레이 하여 파밍하는걸 권장한다.

~10, ~20 미션 까지는 노말로 진행하고, 다시 하드로 처음부터 돌면 큰 어려움 없이 파밍을 마무리할 수 있으니 참고하기를.
이 게임은 무기만 잘 먹어도 매우 잘 풀리기 때문에 새 난이도 도전 시엔 이를 염두해두자.

Earth Defense Force 6 gets a tepid recommendation from me.

Hardcore fans will love it and it's a great entry point for newcomers but as someone who's played quite a few of the games even some of the spin offs I can't help but feel disappointed this game doesn't do more.

The good thing is this is more EDF. Following on directly from 5 we find ourselves again battling 1000's of alien insects across a planet ravaged by the events of the previous game, if you're someone who just wants more of what EDF 5 offered then by all means this is another great entry.

But for someone like myself who likes the games but wishes they would adapt more features from Iron Rain I can't say I absolutely love this entry, it feels like a big dlc with some admittedly nice QoL and cool new enemies. But also copy pasted a lot of assets from 5 whilst also some weird stuff like the first few missions just being a nightmare to play.

But look we all love EDF for it's cheap janky nature. It has impossible difficulty spikes, ass voice acting and hundreds of useless weapons just as we'd all expected, and for many they wouldn't have it any other way.

Loved EDF 4.1, loving 5, but not loving 6. Severe multiplayer desynchronization results in unintended deaths, ghost enemies, and other weirdness. And though I'm only 10% through the story so far, it's just about the blandest level design of the series. Fight in a city of rubble. Fight five or six waves of the same enemy, repeat.

As far as the classes go, expect to be disappointed in the Air Raider! Twelve missions in and half of my arsenal is locked, none of my vehicles bar one terrible one is accessible (on HARD!). Perhaps they unlock eventually but I'll be bored out of my mind by then. Stick to 4.1 and 5.

A fantastic co-op game to play with friend, randoms, and even on your own.
There is a lot of content to experience and a ton of replayability.
The game is much better enjoyed with the context of having played EDF5 as it is a direct sequel to the events of that game.
It spares no time getting you used to fighting the enemies that EDF5 introduced, instead taking time to introduce the new EDF6 enemies instead, so I would highly recommend playing through EDF5 first but it's not a mandatory requirement to enjoy this game.

The game introduced new weapons and rebalanced all the classes from EDF5 in both minor and major ways so every class feels both fresh and familiar allowing for new and old tactics to be equally viable.

However not everything is sunshine and rainbows: the game's engine is noticeably worse in this game than in its predecessor despite being built on the same engine, the game is way more prone to frame drops even on powerful machines and specially on AMD hardware, this is specially true against specific enemy types.
The syncing of the position of players on each player's screens is noticeably worse compared to the previous game, which can lead to a lot of unintentional friendly fire incidents that were a non-issue in EDF5.

Overall a great game that is worth a try that is elevated significantly if you are already a fan of its predecessor or the franchise in general.

Great game, but Glaukos can suck a nut. Not in a fun way, either. Even on Normal mode, that damage output is insanely high. ~970 armor, and that big ♥♥♥♥♥ can burn through over half of that if she catches you in a bad spot. Her attacks are telegraphed to a degree, but that only helps so much with how extremely widespread anything she does can be.

Whoever's idea it was to have their damage be THAT high on the "intended difficulty" can go to hell. God have mercy on the souls of the people who try and finish this game on Inferno.

(and no i'm not lowering the difficulty, my parents didn't raise a quitter.)

まずはじめに断っておくが、私だったらこのゲームを人に勧めることはしない。フルプライスだが反応は賛否両論（2026/03/05現在）な所からもそれは分かってくれるだろう。

このゲームには数え切れないほどの欠点がある。
まずグラフィックはPS3時代にも及ばない。間の抜けたような街並みに色褪せて見える空、子供の頃に遊んでいたゲームを思い出すかもしれない。

更にプレイヤーの強化システムは運にことごとく左右される上に地味で苦痛に感じる作業を毎回強いられる。ステージごとにセーブポイントのような仕組みも無く、くたばったらステージの最初からやり直しだ。

プレイヤーのキャラクリエイトも存在しない。皆没個性的なマスクで顔を覆い、自分の色を出したいならアーマーの色を変えるくらいしかできない。

今あげた3つからして既にこのゲームがフルプライスに値しないと分かるだろう。そして更に言うなら他にも数え切れない程ある。

それに対して、このゲームの美点はたった一つしかない。

それは

『あまりにも面白すぎる』所だ。

このゲームを始めた時、まず4つの兵科を提示される。小回りが利き射程に優れる『レンジャー』、自衛が難しいが優秀なサポート能力と戦場を支配する能力を併せ持つ『エアレイダー』、空を支配し天空から敵を裁く『ウイングダイバー』、重厚な武装に身を包む人型機動兵器『フェンサー』。

最初のステージでは貧弱な武装しか支給されない、いいや、『残されていない』。あなたは壊滅した人類に残された僅かな希望であり、しかし誰もが生きることに精いっぱいで戦うことに回せる力はほとんど無いのだ。

それでもめげずに戦うあなたは更なる絶望に打ちのめされる。これまでの戦いは序章に過ぎず、敵は人類の何万倍もの余力を残していたのだ。しかしプロフェッサーの導きに従い、敵の要衝を攻撃し続けた時、大きな変化が齎される。

初見であるならなおさらこのゲームはあなたに『慣れる』事など許さない。一見雑魚の群れに見えてもほんの数匹だけ『色の違う』敵が混じっている事がある。彼らはあなたの油断を的確に突き、命を刈り取る。

还是挺有趣的。
整体剧情演出相当带感，情怀拉满，第一次回到过去时，选关界面的UI配色直接变回5代，那种怀念而激动的感觉一下就起来了。
由于游戏存在时间逆转的背景设定，虽然有着各种素材复用，但每次轮回，语音和演出也存在着一些细微变化，让人确实感觉到随着每次时间倒流，整个世界也随之改变。
玩法和前作相同，依然是刷刷刷，但除了空袭兵的无人机之外，和前作相比，其他打法刷满之后的体验没什么改变，已经深入体验了前作的话，本作打个主线看一下剧情就行了。
除了部分特效有略微提升之外，画面质量一如既往，牺牲画质换来的是宏大而激烈的战场感。
优化比前作差，怪多的时候配上AOE攻击，掉帧明显。而且一旦遇上大批量刷怪，又或者出剧情对话，就会卡顿。
怪物寻路容易出BUG，很容易遇见怪卡在地形里团团转，甚至有一关，怪卡在刷新点位置，被地形挡住，差点打不着。
本地化也有些瑕疵，尤其是在各类专有名词上，常出现对同一事物，本作与前作叫法不同，又或者语音和字幕对不上的情况。
DLC1是剧情相关，DLC2则纯粹是来耍宝的，深刻证明了在EDF的世界中，战略情报部有多不靠谱。
最后这个价格嘛……实在是过于高端，建议等打折。

If you're wondering why the reviews are mixed, it's because EDF 6 used Epic Games' online servers so you needed an Epic account to go online. It's fixed now and does not need

Without spoiling anything because EDF 6 is best played blind. Despite your victory over the Primers in EDF 5, the Primers will still win regardless. But the arrogance of the Primers and their need for a perfect victory is the downfall you will exploit to defeat them. DLC 1 of EDF 6 will make it clear why.

The Earth Defense Force gameplay loop is being thrown challenges that you and friends have to solve by bringing specific loadouts. It can be more enemies, unique versions of enemies, unique enemy compositions, etc. Each enemy has weakness that can be exploited but with so many enemies and only two weapons, you and your friends have to cover the weaknesses of each other's loadout but not every loadout can beat every mission so you have to experiment based on your experiences fighting enemies.

With EDF 6, it is the best EDF by addressing every weakness EDF 5 had.

EDF 5 didn't have that much enemy variety compared to EDF 4.1 but 6 has more or less than twice the amount of enemies 5 had. It makes loadouts require more thought to be put in them. Enemies can feel oppressive if you don't know how they work but once you do, they feel extremely fair and well designed. Enemies can be similar looking but act and have different strengths and weaknesses.

5 had the issue where the music felt generic but the devs tried and it made playing the game super enjoyable. Unfortunately, reading the music titles and listening to them is a spoiler so I recommend completing the game first.

The last thing I didn't like that much about 5 was that story didn't feel as utterly hopeless as 4 did but 6 fixes that because the Primers will go all out in 6.

One neat thing that they changed was that some buildings have commercial fronts like some buildings can have a restaurant, bookstore, butcher, and there are even gas stations with a convenience store. You can't enter them but it helps the world feel lived in rather than buildings being rectangular skyscrapers.

An issue I have with 6 is that the optimization is a lot worse than 5. You're already locked to 60 fps but it can drop 30 when enemy numbers are in the hundreds in the moment.

So this is a really fun game for what time i have put into it. I didnt get super far due to the loss of my best friend who I would play this with.
What i can say is the game starts slow, but ramps up a couple missions in. Maybe one day ill finish the game and finish the fight for him. As it sits its hard to play this game any further. I recommend it.

どちらかというとおすすめかなぁ…という感じのおすすめです。
グラフィックは綺麗になってるし、ストーリーも面白かったです。

ただ、ストーリーを理由にしてコストやリソースをケチった印象はやっぱり残りました。
こんなに何回も繰り返す必要はないと思うし、５の使いまわしでない新規ステージは二、三倍ぐらい欲しかった。
あと暗いステージが５よりめちゃくちゃ暗くなっててまともにゲームができない印象を受けて残念でした。
前作で最悪だった視覚妨害は減った印象ですが、やっぱりラスト付近でやってきてなんだかなぁ。
それとラストのストーリー展開が意味がよく分からなかったです。ガンガン攻撃されてるときに難解な説明されても分からないですよ。
武器ももっと種類を増やしてほしかったです。

ただサブ武器はよかった。ダイバーのセイバーが強すぎてレイピア必要ないのがよかったです。
あと繰り返すなら再プレイでストーリー部分が長すぎなので、スキップ機能つけるのが今なら普通だと思いました。

あと本当にグラウコスは面倒で嫌でした。何も楽しくないうえにしつこすぎるボス。
味方がいっぱいいるマップで一個上の難度をクリアして強い武器で一方的に倒すと快適です。

地球防衛軍が好きでストーリーが気になるなら、まぁセールでやってもいいかもしれない…という印象の作品でした。

Never before has a game felt like more of a pile of duct-taped mechanics interacting poorly.

The weapons are wildly unbalanced, the difficulty will ping-pong between trivial and nearly impossible, some classes just get screwed over entirely by certain mission types.

The story and characters are barely present, and what is present is more funny than compelling.

On all accounts, there is no reason this game should get a positive rating, and yet...

It's so damn fun to play with friends.

It feels like an immensely fun experience is being held at arms length from the players by the devs, and you know what, when they do let you indulge, it's worth it.

so im gonna write a genuine review on this because it deserves it. the game overall is very good amazing graphics great class rundowns great wacky weapons. couple problems tho. it honestly is sad that todays era of games are constantly rushed or unfinished. i remember when edf 4 came out that game was unbelievably good. the story feels rushed i clipped through the ground, runs not so great. i am giving them a thumbs up because they deserve it but honestly not happy with the way it turned out

1.) ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the game gives you the most useless weapons to start off with. Even on the easiest setting it takes 3-5 business days to kill one ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ enemy. I don't need retarded souls like difficulty on the first ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stage.
2.) Annoying as ♥♥♥♥ cut scenes that no one asked for.
3.) Game interface is clunky as ♥♥♥♥ and annoying.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game is pure ass. The weapons given do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, even on the easiest of difficulties. Constant, stupid ass forced cutscenes that are just annoying. Game interface is annoying and half assed. I asked for a refund on this ♥♥♥♥ bomb. It's not even worth buying on sale.

The EDF series is something you either love or you don't.
Graphics are dated. Voice acting is cheesy. Physics are questionable.
What they focused on was fun. This game is fun.
Underneath everything is fairly well thought out game. Most weapons have a purpose, and really difficult levels are a sort of puzzle you have to figure out.

Free Mother Earth from hordes of giant aliens and monsters.
Cover the screen in explosions,
Level cities in the process.

Crazy good fun with friends, can be challenging on your own.

I really wish they supported more than 4 people in an online game, that would be incredible.

Absolutely fantastic. I just can't get enough of this series. I am the type of person that has been replaying all the games in the series repeatedly on every difficulty level and with every player class.

EDF 6 is a little disappointing in one respect which is that it has some repeated levels from EDF 5 (not just the maps but the script as well) but over all introduces a good amount of new enemies and map scripts as well.

For someone that was replaying the previous iterations ad-infinitum it is a welcome fresh batch of levels and experiences.

The music on the new levels is less symphonic and more electronic/modern but is actually really good in its own right.

Something has changes with the sound design as well which has a grittiness and increased "thud" to it that I enjoy. It's less "tappity-tap" and more "thunkity-thunk."

I'm running on a 12-year old rig though I did I upgrade my graphics card in 2019 to a 2060 RTX. So far it runs just as good as EDF 5, which is excellent. Perhaps late missions will provide some of the disappoints I've read about but so far, so good.

I read a lot of disappointing reviews about this iteration of the series which kept me from diving in for a long time but all those complaints were for naught as far as I'm concerned. The best part of EDF is it provides an old-school kind of pure fun arcade game. Some folks seem to want something completely new with each release but I love that they keep providing the same raw experience again and again with enough new tweaks to keep it fresh but without tainting the formula.

There's also some quality of life improvements worth mentioning. Your character now automatically vaults over objects instead of running in place at a standstill. You can also jump and automatically climb up slightly taller obstacles. Ranger includes a new "backpack" which lets you carry a variety of objects such as grenades, turrets and vehicles that can be activated with a separated button or key. One more extra weapon on the battlefield.

After making sure it ran alright on my antiquated gear I purchased the mission packs as well. They are both fun though mission pack 1 starts with a a mission that you can't lose since you don't get to do anything before it's over.

Mission pack 2 is really hard but has new horribly challenging new enemies. It's a "battle simulator" that is as close to an "endless mode" that EDF has ever had. Each wave gets harder. It is not actually endless since there are only three or so waves but each one gets harder and you can just generally stay in place. It's super hard and super fun.

Totally recommend for any EDF fan whose hardware can run it. I'm running on an i5 from 2012, 16G system RAM and an nVidia RTX 2060 with 6GB on Windows 10, 1080p.

レンジャーの性能がまともになり、シリーズでもトップに面白いと思います。
最終局面では感動しました。
DLCは難易度高すぎて微妙です。

オンライン同期ズレが酷く、洞窟で有利だからと爆発物を持ち込む味方がいれば誤爆だらけでまともに遊べません。
ドロップアイテムの自動回収が無くてがっかりをシリーズが出る度にしています。

Oh my god the first mission is an absolute joke. I don't understand how they think we need that tutorial, they talk like they are 5 years old FFS.

The view is FAR too close to the player character and the player character is FAR too much in front of the crosshairs and yes you have 4 options, however they are ALL terrible.

But the game is really good.

本作は友人と特定の不満(＝本作の不満点)を共有して愚痴を言い合うコミュニケーションツール
おすすめする理由が無い
本作ならではの面白さを無理矢理考えることも難しい

改善可能箇所はほとんど放置されたままであるにも関わらず、プレイヤー側の過去作で強かった要素の調整と、プレイヤーにストレスを与える要素の追加には余念がない。
プレイを不快にさせる要素がふんだんに詰め込まれていて、良いゲームを作ろうというつもりが感じられない。これ気にならなかったの？という部分が常に付きまとう。プレイして最も本作から感じられたのは、面白いストーリーを見てくれ！という押しつけがましさ。話を見せられているという感覚が終始強かった。
ストーリー上の謎と真相、装甲が改良された敵、破壊された市街や漂う死体など、演出面に力が入っている一方、その弊害として周回性、敵を倒す快感やそのための利便性（視界であったり移動であったり）は鑑みられることなく、あまりにもゲーム性を犠牲にしすぎている。これはゲーム中あらゆる場面で氾濫しており、過去作のゲーム体験と比べるにゲーム性が非常に劣悪になったと言わざるを得ない。
よしんばあのストーリーにするとしてもゲーム部分をここまで演出に寄せる必要は感じられず、演出とゲーム性の兼ね合いはもっとやりようがあったのでは？
ストーリーの題材に扱いが難しいものを選択しており、題材の面白さを十分に反映できているかと言われるとそれも疑問。これでストーリーが心底面白ければまだ評価も変わろうが、この題材ならば自ずと備わる”普通の”面白さに留まっている。この題材を取り入れたメリットよりもデメリットの方が多く目につきすぎてしまう。
ゲームの仕様面に関しても思った通りに遊ばせたい（＝それ以外の遊びを許さない）という意図が透けて見える。最初から最高難易度に挑戦していく高難易度縛りプレイや、そこで得た武器で無双するサクサクプレイは行えず、オンラインでの武器アーマー縛りも健在。どれだけ素早く敵を殲滅してもストーリーを語る無線が入ってからでないと次に進めない。過去作でできた仕様を用いた裏技やテクニックも潰されている。遊びの幅は作を経るごとに落ちて行っている。
開発がこれをテストプレイして（自己満足以外で）十分楽しめたのだとしたら大した才能。
以下長めの箇条書き（良い評価点も最下部に🐜）

・空中の敵に連続ヒットさせると遠くへ飛んでいき最悪クリア不能になる
・上記挙動のためNPCが敵を遠くへふっとばしてしまう
・敵が散り散りになってしまい、こまごまと近づいて行っては1体ずつ倒す羽目になる
・敵はフィールド外に自由に移動でき、指をくわえて眺めるしかない状況が稀にある
・稀にフィールド外の地形に敵が引っかかったり、地中に埋まったりしてクリア不能になることがある
・開始地点や想定上の移動ルート、敵の出現地点がフィールド外に近いミッションが多いことも一因
・敵の被弾範囲が小さい、細い、狭い上に動きが速い。さらに特定の敵はわざわざプレイヤーから逃げて背後を取るように動く
・特定の敵は手順を踏んだり、タイミングを計ったりしないと倒せず、また多くの敵はよく狙って撃たなければならず、気持ち良く乱射できない場面が多い
・一部の敵が攻撃を無効にする盾を持っており、これをダウンさせる必要があるが、ダウンからの復帰が早い
・この盾を持った敵が2体、3体と重なっていると長時間に渡ってこちらの攻撃が無力化されるためしょうもない
・先述のような仕様からか、あるいは武器が弱いのかその両方か、敵がやけに固く感じられてしまう ⇒ 一掃する爽快感の減少
・ネタバレになるので詳細は避けるが、最後のミッションが圧倒的に面白くないクリアした達成感よりやっと終わったという疲労感が強い
・大型の蜘蛛の糸が障害物を貫通して飛んできて引き寄せられ、プレイヤーが建物などに引っかかることで頻繁にハメ殺される
・敵は障害物に武器が埋まっている状態だと、障害物を貫通してこちらに攻撃を行える
・特定の敵の攻撃範囲が広すぎて避けようがない上、距離が近い場合は透明度の無さすぎる攻撃エフェクトで画面が満たされて見えなくなり、プレイに支障がある
・視界/画面が遮られるような攻撃を行う敵が増えた。終盤に行けば行くほど女王蟻の酸レベルで何も見えなくなる攻撃エフェクトが増える。
・移動時にひっかかる障害地形（ちょっとした段差など）が多く、プレイヤーは動きを制限され大きな影響があるが、敵には影響がない
・段差を乗り越える動作に専用モーションがあり、これは自動的に行われるが、意図せず発動することもある。モーション中はキャラクターがその場に留まる上に操作不能かつ無敵がなく、上記地形と合わせて死因になる。
・敵の死体が消えるのが遅い上に当たり判定も持つため、視界、射線、移動を妨害してプレイヤー不利要素にしかならず不快感が極まりない。今作はサイズの大きい敵も多くプレイに相当の支障がある。
・新しく入手した武器よりも成長した低Lv武器の方が強く、武器入手の喜びが薄い
・こちらの武器の射程よりも敵全体の武器の射程の方が圧倒的に長く、こちらの武器には威力の距離減衰仕様もあることもあって撃ち合いが理不尽

・強い仕様を持った敵が多いため相対的にレンジャーが弱くなりすぎた
・レンジャーのダッシュは走り出しが遅く、走行中は射撃できない上に視界が狭まり、ダッシュを止めるとブレーキモーションが入りすぐに行動できない旋回性能も悪く箱回収にも使えない
・ウイングダイバーの一部の武器タイプについて、弾薬の仕様が変更されており使いづらくなった（個人差有）
・ウイングダイバーのエネルギー効率が変更されており満足に飛べない。頻繁に着地したり、武器にどれぐらいエネルギーを使うかというエネルギー管理にリソースを割かれすぎて使って楽しくなくなった
・ウイングダイバーのコアはエネルギー消費も緊急チャージも早くなったので、飛ばずに地べたで緊急チャージしながら超火力を放つのが強い運用のひとつというコンセプト崩壊を起こしている
・エアレイダーが圧倒的につまらない
・場所の都合でエアレイダーの支援要請がそもそも使用できないミッションは過去にもあったが、今作はそれに加えてストーリー上の都合で支援要請できないミッションが増しましに多く、エアレイダーだけ理不尽な武器制限を強いられる
・吹き飛ばしや後述のラグの問題もあってエアレイダーのゲーム体験は非常に悪い (プレイヤーによるが)マルチプレイではエアレイダーの存在がマイナス要素
・レンジャーも一部とはいえビークルを要請できるようになったため、エアレイダーの存在意義がさらに薄くなったなぜ統合しなかったのか…もはや量増しのための存在
・コンバットフレームの移動の操作性の悪さは相変わらず
・コンバットフレームがちょっとした段差から移動する度に長い着地モーションを行う

・1ミッションが冗長なことが多くダレる
・1ミッション内で同じような展開を繰り返すことがある（倒せ！⇒やったか？⇒復活⇒倒せ！⇒やったか？⇒復活を4回ぐらい繰り返したような…）
・ストーリー重視の弊害か、ストーリーを見せつけるためだけに待ちぼうけのような状態になるミッションが多い（こっちはシューティングがしたいのであってアニメや映画を見たいわけではないんだが？）
・テキストが表示されるだけのイベントカット、イベントスチルのような場面が一切スキップできないことに加え中途半端に長く周回性が悪い
・移動するだけの場面でNPCの足が遅く、プレイヤーが目的地についてもNPCの到着を待たされ次に進まないためこの間の時間が虚無
・大量の敵が投入されて後からNPCの援軍が追加…という流れが多い盛り返したり反撃の熱さを演出しているのかもしれないが、追加される敵が多くて援軍到着イベント前にプレイヤーが全滅したり、援軍が現れても足が遅くて間に合わない、主戦場到着前に援軍が全滅するのが茶飯事
・上記のように、味方の新兵器や増援を演出したいがために無茶苦茶な量の敵を出現させるミッションがかなり多い
・プレイヤーではなくNPCの新兵器にあっさり殲滅させて終わることもあり、プレイヤーの努力を馬鹿にするような締め方のミッションがある
・前作プレイ前提のストーリー（ただしストーリー内容自体は悪いわけではない）
・ストーリーに力を入れて長いスパンで展開される割には、ストーリー上重要と思われる複数の転換点イベントがミッションとして用意されておらず、無線通話中に”すでにあったこと”として省略されている
・ストーリー上の都合もあり、今作内だけでなく前作からの使い回しステージも非常に多い
・たびたび同じようなステージ、ミッションを行うため、クリア後に周回する際にはすでに見飽きていてモチベ維持が難しい
・イベントの演出中、レーダーやレティクルなどのHUDがほとんど非表示にされてしまいプレイに支障が出る…というか死因にもなる
・NPC通話である無線通信が入るたびにカクつき、時折アプリが強制終了する（アプリケーションクラッシュは現在修正されているかも？）
・ラグが大きく、意図せず味方を爆発に巻き込むことがあり範囲武器の使用にストレスがある

・引き続きミッションに合わせて装備を変更するコンセプトだと思われるが、装備マイセットやお気に入りなどの機能が変わらず無くここに関するユーザビリティが無手入れ
・ライサンダー二丁持ちや、特定装備を用いたフェンサーの高速機動など、従来作や前作でできていたプレイヤーに有利な仕様がない
・相変わらず被弾すると移動速度が極端に落ちるため、今作は連続ヒットする攻撃も多いことから1発あたるとそのままミッション失敗になることも多い
・Lvの低い武器の性能の低さ具合が相変わらず極端で、0をマイナス方向に伸ばしたよう。低難易度の武器でのプレイは武器性能の低さにストレスが溜まる。
・非アクティブ中の武器のリロードが行われない
・ハードをクリアしないと上の難易度が解放されない
・アーマーや武器箱拾いを伝統だの醍醐味だのと言うなら同じくシリーズ伝統のプレイヤー有利の仕様もオミットするなと言いたい
・Epicと連携する必要がある
・PC版とPS版でクロスプレイできない
・上記内容を加味すると値段に納得感は一切ない（セール中の価格ですら怪しい）

▽良い点
・プレイヤー武器のエフェクト…派手な爆発やレーザービームなどは健在
・ボイス…シリーズの面白さの1/3ぐらいを担ってくれている
・NPCの武装等は少し改善されている
・NPCの配置量や配置されるミッションが圧倒的に増えた
・節足動物、ロボット以外の敵バリエーションが増えた
・演出に力を入れているだけあって、(前作プレイ済み前提の箇所を含め)局所的にテンションの上がる箇所はしばしばある
・達成率がオンオフ共有になった
・一応PC版同士、またはPS版同士のみでクロスプレイ()対応
・従来作のような処理落ちがない

Earth Defense Force 6 is a MASTERPIECE. Within the context of the EDF series. Outside that context it is a rather odd game.
The story is surprisingly clever and it plays with player expectations - sometimes in big twists in the story, sometimes in small details that only players with EDF4.1 and 5 burned into their memory are going to notice.

Beyond the genius of the main story, the overall game (aiming for 100% completion) feels less fun and satisfying than previous EDF games. This is subjective and its hard to explain but I think it comes down to the game being made longer while trying to layer new weapons and harder enemies on top of EDF5. Since the range of weapons and enemy forces has been increased, it is now much less likely that you'll have moments where the challenge is *just right*, and far fewer moments where a newly unlocked weapon makes you feel OP. Your weapons either feel feeble, just about adequate, or excessively overpowered and enemies simply melt in an unsatisfying way.
Playing online helps since weapons and armor are restricted to scale with the mission, but even then weapons that are supposed to be devastating just feel feeble and the clutch victories that make EDF online legendary are rarer.

EDF games have always had a long mission list and EDF6 can feel conflicted in it's attempt to deliver a larger and more complex story. Missions can be slow and boring, to serve the story. Following the story can be drawn out as the story is drip-fed from mission to mission.

Overall it's hard to recommend that people try it, which is a shame since there are elements of genius in the game. I'd say EDF5 or 4.1 remain the games that I'd recommend anyone picks up and has a go at at some point.
If you enjoyed 5 then I would say this is a MUST PURCHASE though you might ultimately want to go back to 5.
