While generally the game is a Puzzle Bobble clone, Dynomite is a pretty good casual game. Simply shoot the eggs at three or more with the same color. But look out! Another type of egg will be added if you don't stop that damn bird from reaching the top.
Sure, the game is fun and all, but the real treat is its own adventure mode, where you have to collect the fossils from the Mesozoic Era. If you need a break from the game, you can save your game, and you can come back to it later.

I have loved this game since popcap was still on disks. Very fun and nostalgic for those of you seeking such things. A little buggy at times, but such is the problem with older games being played on modern setups. Other than that, a great game!

decent little puzzle bobble clone with some very crusty dinosaur themed visuals. Also has some of the just weirdest music i've ever heard for a game like this its all like 80s synth techno music not at all what i'd expect from this game

One of PopCap's earliest ballistics puzzles. Dynomite! Deluxe combines a colour-based match-three puzzle with a bouncing projectile. If you know Puzzle Bobble (AKA Bust-A-Move) or Frozen Bubble, Dynomite has the exact same basic gameplay. You shoot eggs at a slowly descending wall of eggs to match three or more together causing an explosion. You can bounce eggs off the walls for trick shots. If the eggs close in too much, you get stomped. Simple, yet fun.
There are four game modes:
- "Endless Puzzle" is the default game mode. In this mode you try to hold back a descending wall of eggs. Periodically Whirley will appear and try to fly to the top of the screen with a new egg colour to add to the puzzle. You can shoot him to stop new colours being added, which is pretty neat. You get warned right before Whirley appears so you can be prepared.
- "Stomped Puzzle" pits you against preset puzzles, which you must clear away. If you fire too many eggs, Mama will get angry and stomp you for a game over. Just figure out how to clear the puzzles with as few shots as possible.
- "Fossil Challenge" requires you to extract fossils embedded in puzzles. There are two sub-modes: "Strategic", which is slow-paced with trickier puzzles, and "Panic", which is fast-paced with simpler puzzles. There is a progression of different fossils, and you can view the fossils you have obtained in the museum screen.
- "Time Trial" is a casual game mode in which you try to clear away many rows of eggs as quickly as you can. You cannot lose, you just need to clear away the eggs.
As with most of PopCap's old catalog, Dynomite works well via the latest Proton Experimental as of this writing (19-08-2025). The game also has a Platinum rating on ProtonDB. So Linux users should have no problems with this game.
Windows 8, 10, and 11 have some major issues with the game. Again, this is similar to the rest of PopCap's old catalog, which also tend to work very poorly on Windows versions newer than 7. Users have reported issues including all sound being missing, fullscreen not working, broken scoring, and eggs randomly changing colour. Some users report it works fine on their systems, so your experience may vary. Windows 7 and older usually run the game fine. On 7 and Vista you may need to set compatibility mode to Windows XP first. As is often the case these days even for current titles, this Windows game runs notably better on a Linux system via Proton than it does on the latest Windows.
Overall, pretty good. You can get this for about a dollar during some sales; for that price this game has good value.

I played it as a kid and I'm happy to be playing it again. Even though its repetitive, I find it fun to try and beat my high score and the nostalgia of finding the game again makes me happy.
dynomite (or eggsucker if you played the og) is the best bubble shooter out there in the world, unlike other games similar to it, dynomite has a personality and charm with the goofy dinosaur theming. the gameplay itself is addicting and you could spend hours playing, there´s also some other nifty sidemodes where you can play so more hours to the counter are added. raptisoft should have gotten the rights back of this so he could make a sequel, i love blasting those eggs

Je suis tombé sur ce jeu, Dynomite Deluxe, et comment dire… C’est CE jeu. Oui, CE jeu auquel tu joues quand t’es au boulot et que ton patron est juste derrière, ou quand t’es au CDI en train de te cacher entre deux cours. C’est le genre de jeu qui te suit partout, t’es jamais vraiment pressé de finir, et tu sais qu’il va t'occuper sans que t’aies à te creuser la tête. Un jeu simple, mais diaboliquement efficace.
Dynomite Deluxe est un puzzle-game dans le style "bubble shooter", où tu dois lancer des œufs de dinosaures colorés pour former des groupes de trois et les faire exploser. Chaque niveau te demande de vider l'écran d'œufs, et plus tu avances, plus ça devient stratégique. C’est super accessible pour les débutants, mais tu risques de t’arracher les écailles sur les derniers niveaux tellement ça devient coriace. La mécanique de jeu est simple à comprendre, mais c’est ce côté vraiment addictif qui fait que tu vas revenir encore et encore, même après une session de rage.
Ce qui est cool, c’est que Dynomite Deluxe est un jeu léger, pas gourmand en ressources, ce qui veut dire que tu peux le faire tourner sur n’importe quel vieux PC. Genre, ton vieux PC portable de 2005 ou même une calculatrice avec un écran à deux couleurs, ça passe. Et l’aspect préhistorique avec les dinosaures et l'ambiance rétro ajoute vraiment un charme particulier à l'ensemble.
Les graphismes ? Ouais, c’est du pixel art old-school. C’est pas du AAA, mais honnêtement, ça donne un vrai côté nostalgique, et pour un jeu que tu vas faire tourner pendant des heures, c’est largement suffisant. Si tu veux un jeu qui ne te prend pas la tête et où tu peux enchaîner les niveaux sans trop réfléchir, c’est ça. Tu vois bien de quoi je parle.
Mais ATTENTION, il y a un truc de fou que je veux absolument mentionner : S'il vous plaît, mettez une mise à jour pour qu'on puisse avoir un éditeur de niveaux ! Que l’on puisse créer nos propres niveaux et les poster sur le Workshop. Imaginez un peu… Personnaliser les œufs, ajouter des cosmétiques pour nos dinosaures, et qui sait, peut-être même des skins ! Et s'il vous plaît, relancez le mode coop online, là c’est du big troll, vraiment. Je sais que vous pouvez le faire, vous avez déjà tout en main pour ça. Alors les devs, faites-le, je vous en supplie, faites-le !
Bref, un jeu fun, accessible à tout type de joueur, et totalement passe-partout. Je me vois bien l'emporter en vacances ou le lancer entre deux tâches au boulot. Parfait pour s’évader, même juste quelques minutes.
Alors, n’attendez plus, mes petits dinos ! Que la chasse aux œufs commence, avant que Mama Brontosaurus n'arrive pour tout écraser !

My Oma introduced me to this game over 20 years ago. Still holds up. Simple when you need, complex when you want. Satisfying sound effects, though I turn off the anxiety music lol.
I miss my grandmother, this game has brought me back a lot of good memories of sitting on the floor in her office whilst she played her PopCap games. It brings back a lot of nostalgia.

Played this since I was 4, decent little bubble shooter game. Aim for a sale though. 4 modes, 2 endless (1 only if you're good enough), but they have extra levels of difficulty too.

I was craving some classic Popcap games, so I bought Dynomite! deluxe to play again. Its very fun and addictive to play, just like I remembered. I do miss the old Popcap. I wish EA hadn't bought them. :(

Loved this game as a kid, love it now. Great way to enjoy yourself when you have like 20 min to kill or something. One of the most satisfying bubble pop type games I've played.

I used to play this all the time on bubbleshooter.com before flash shut down! I was genuinely shocked to find it here.
It's your average bubble shooter kinda game, except the eggs don't really stop moving, which makes it a lot trickier. Combos are encouraged here, too, which is another difference from the standard formula.
For whatever reason, this version doesn't like to save settings unless you get some kind of patch, though, so just be aware of that.
