There are some interesting ideas in this game.

How you have to feed the heroes loot and "entertain" them this way to build up soul energy or hope in their hearts. And then you can slay them, however i would not say that it's a game that feels pleasant to play.

The gimmick of feeding them loot before engaging them feels a bit too difficult to pull off as the heroes seem to always run towards the nearest monster and it's difficult to set up good kill boxes.

So for me i would not recommend this game at this time.

Bastante entretenido, dura poco pero cumple, envejeció bastante bien el juego. Solo tiene un problema, cuando mejoras las unidades, si tenes demasiadas invocadas, el juego se puede crashear, sobretodo en la última misión, así que piensen 2 veces antes de guardar partida, porque hasta eso falla.

It's an old game, cute goblin sidekick helping you get back your old power as a dungeon lord, works well on my Win11 PC. UI and game mechanics are fine; can't imagine any reason to buy unless you are wanting something nostaligic to play; plenty of dungeon management games around with similar gameplay - this one brings nothing new to the table, can be very challenging at times to juggle everything which is good for any players who enjoy strategy. The story has comedic value. The campaign is very linear. If you like building dungeons from the ground up this one probably wont scratch that itch as much as some other dungeon management games.

[u][b]Overview[/b][/u]
I suppose you could say Dungeons is a spiritual successor to Dungeon Keeper by Bullfrog Productions as they follow the same core concept. How true that is I can’t say for sure as I never really sat down to play it. Anyways, Dungeons has you taking on the role of the Dungeon Lord who must reclaim his position of power after being betrayed. To do this, he must collect gold, souls and muster an army to fight his way to the lowest levels and retake his throne.

[u][b]Visuals[/b][/u]
Given the age of the game, I think it kind of held up. It does show with some of the rather basic designs coupled with some stiff animation work. But overall it could be much worse.

[u][b]Audio[/b][/u]
Not a whole lot to really write home about on this. Audio quality is okay I suppose, though some of the dialogue is another matter. Some of it is done for comedic reasons, but others can be rather grating on the ears, your little goblin side kick in particular can be hard to listen to.

[u][b]Story[/b][/u]
Well as stated, the whole thing is about reclaiming your throne after your lover betrays you. You find yourself at the bottom of the hierarchy and must now defeat those who were once under you to raise to the top once again, unleashing evil to the world above as you go. For the most part it really isn’t all that involved, you honestly just spend most of your time simply trying to complete the objective for the current level before moving on to the next.

[u][b]Gameplay[/b][/u]
For the most part things are a little hands off as you spend most of your time waiting for things to happen. You’ve got Little Snots that go around digging, collecting gold, moving bodies and doing resupply runs around your dungeon. Your minions are based on Pentagrams that you have which will spawn a batch of them in to hold the position that the Pentagram is located in, attacking any enemies that wander into their field of view. What kind of minions you have will vary based on what nests you have in your area of influence as well as what level you’re on. Having nests in your influence will increase your population count, so it’s good to use some of the Pentagram’s to expand your influence to acquire a larger population count as well place Pentagram’s in strategic locations to have would be adventurers stumble upon them to get worked over.

Those that invade your dungeon are typically seeking fame, glory and untold riches, so you need to provide them with the kinds of things they’re looking for while exploring the dungeon. Gold, equipment, knowledge of the arcane, traps and fighting monsters are all things that those seeking adventure want. But not all who enter your dungeon are looking for the same things. There are a variety of enemy types from the rookie adventurer to the knight in shining armour that will enter your dungeon and are looking for specific things. Clicking on them will show what their needs are and how far along it is until those needs are met. Once all of their needs are met, they will then exit the dungeon. So why is it important to meet their needs? Because you want to drain their soul energy. Soul energy is used to purchase items to decorate your dungeon to increase its fame, which in turn makes you stronger. It’s also needed to purchase upgrades. So once an enemy has been defeated, you can extract soul energy from them by throwing them into jail cells where the energy will be slowly extracted and they’ll eventually die (unless you decide to be merciful and free them or a hero shows up and frees them).

As for you as the Dungeon Lord, you can control him and where he goes, who he attacks and upgrade him through points that you acquire by doing certain tasks during the mission. Improve stats and unlock new abilities. While in your sphere of influence you will gain stat bonuses based on the amount of fame that your dungeon has. This can make fighting in your area easier, while harder when fighting in areas that you don’t control. But if the Dungeon Lord dies, it’s not game over (unless stated otherwise) as he’ll just respawn back at the Dungeon Heart with it taking some damage. So long as the Dungeon Heart has health, you’ll be fine.

[u][b]Is it worth it?[/b][/u]
Dungeons isn’t a bad game. It has some interesting elements, but is also limited. I’m not entirely sure if it’s due to the technology at the time or the developers simply not having the time and//or care to expand on the dungeon elements. It would have been nice to have more options to improve the looks of your dungeon and maybe give a bit more reason to increase its fame beyond making your Dungeon Lord stronger. I’m giving it a thumbs up but with the recommendation to buy it when on sale and don’t expect it to be some high quality game. There are other games that tackle the genre better, but that doesn’t mean the game wasn’t bad, just average and would be more for those who are exploring the genre throughout the ages.

Un must pour les fans des jeux style Dungeon Keeper !

Après avoir passé de nombreuses heures à creuser, piéger et transformer des héros valeureux en simples lunchs pour mes monstres affamés, je peux dire une chose : j’ai adoré ce jeu. Si tu aimes les jeux où tu incarnes le Mal… vraiment le Mal, ce titre est fait pour toi.

Graphismes :

Les visuels du jeu plongent immédiatement dans une ambiance souterraine délicieusement macabre et colorée. Les donjons sont assez bien détaillés, avec un charme rustique qui rappelle les classiques des années 2000 tout en restant plaisant aujourd’hui. Les décors ne sont pas clinquants comme dans les AAA modernes, mais ils ont leur propre personnalité, ce qui colle parfaitement à l’atmosphère stratégique et humoristique du titre.

Gameplay :

Le cœur du jeu, c’est la gestion de ton antre démoniaque. Creuser des tunnels, aménager des salles, gérer les ressources et attirer des aventuriers naïfs pour les détruire est incroyablement satisfaisant. C’est un vrai plaisir de pouvoir façonner le donjon de ses rêves… ou de ses cauchemars ! L’équilibre entre stratégie, construction et petits défis tactiques offre une progression vraiment fun.

Ambiance & Narration

L’humour est omniprésent, parfois noir, parfois sarcastique mais toujours dans le ton du genre. Les dialogues et les situations rappellent les vieilles heures de Dungeon Keeper avec une pointe de modernité ludique : les héros qui débarquent en pensant « sauver le monde » finissent plutôt par finir dans mes pièges.

Musique & Son

La bande-son n’est pas révolutionnaire, mais elle accompagne parfaitement l’ambiance générale. Les thèmes sonores donnent une sensation de donjon vivant, entre couinements de créatures, bruits de creusement et rires maléfiques enregistrés au bon moment, ce qui complète parfaitement l’immersion.

Rejouabilité

Chaque partie apporte une nouvelle chance de repenser ton empire souterrain. Entre les différents DLC, les monstres à débloquer et les stratégies possibles, on ne s’ennuie jamais vraiment, même si certaines missions deviennent un peu répétitives.

Verdict global : Recommandé !

Si tu es fan de jeux dans le style Dungeon Keeper, que tu aimes l’humour noir et que tu adores créer des pièges impossibles pour les aventuriers imprudents… Dungeons est fait pour toi. Je le recommande chaudement à tous les amateurs de strategie + gestion de donjon. Une expérience unique qui donne envie de revenir encore et encore creuser plus profondément ! 👹🏰

There's a decently good looking and sounding game here... which, is a real shame all things considered...

If you're looking for a game in which you lord over a dungeon and kill any pesky "heroes" that would dare enter to steal your riches... then this is **not** the game for you... as the reality of this game revolves around babysitting and otherwise pampering the dungeon invaders as if they were "guests" or "tourists" traversing an underground theme park, which makes them "fat with soul energy", before you then kill them...

Consider this game a high effort (visuals/sound effects/voice acting/campaign with replayable levels/overarching mission achievement based stat point skill point trees/etc) proof of concept... around a concept that is more frustratingly tedious/annoying than fun/enjoyable...

Like I said... "There's a decently good looking and sounding game here... which, is a real shame all things considered..."

This game has a few good ideas in it, but it quickly becomes tedious.

You're the lord of a dungeon, and need to build it out so that heroes can explore it. However, unlike in Dungeon Keeper, a game I've seen this compared to, you actually want the heroes to come in. The more heroes fight and loot, their souls become more valuable, which is what you really want. In concept this isn't a bad idea for a game.

The issue is that there just isn't enough to do. There are exactly 4 rooms you need to build in any dungeon. A weapons room, a library, a kill room, and a dungeon. You want heroes to go through the first two to fill up their souls, before knocking them out in the kill room, and harvest the souls in the dungeon. This takes on average about 5 minutes to set up in each level of the game. After this, you kind of just leave the dungeon to do it's thing. This means you really don't manage your dungeon much.

So what will you do? Well, unlike Dungeon Keeper, you have a character that you directly control. You can explore the dungeon, and fight on your own. This is necessary as you have no means of controlling your minions. At all. So any objectives on the map, require you to go in alone to deal with it. The main downside here, is that combat is fairly one note. The strongest thing you can do is auto-attack. Spells seem fairly weak, so I stopped bothering with them aside from the speed and healing spell. Since the game knows you will be alone when raiding other dungeon lord's realms, your character is quite strong. Very little actually threatens you, and since combat is just click and wait, this gets old fast.

I played through the entire campaign, which is thankfully not too long. Most of my play time is literally just waiting around for the dungeon to extract enough soul energy to accomplish the next goal.

In summary, this game had a few interesting ideas, but just didn't develop them enough to be a good game. I am told the later games in the series got good, but this one is probably not worth your time.

Решил значится после третьей и четвертой части ознакомится с истоками... Ну с одной стороны интересно, с другой стороны душно. По началу вроде неплохо, но спустя пару-тройку миссий понимаешь что геймплей дико скучный. Вроде бы должен обставлять подземелье что бы героям оно понравилось и пофармить их, а по факту сидишь пол часа фармишь солдатиков ради пары кандилябров на стене. Да в дальшейшем когда появятся миссии с другими данжен мастерами становиться куда проще фармить (тупо бегай да захватывай пентаграммы), но становиться скучно так как боты однообразно действуют, а баланс не дает повеселиться.
Кстати о балансе, это какая-то дичь, за всю игру меня убили раза два, на минотавре подставился под цепи и солдатики бесконечно появляющиеся из портала в миссии где махаются два героя и одному из них надо помочь. Но все остальное время благодаря дико имбалансной прокачке, ты летишь и незамечаешь никого, аннигилируя всех по пути, челенджа особо не чувствуется, от чего по большей части забиваешь на большую часть гемплея. Да можно конечно не качать таланты и статы, но тогда аннигилировать будут тебя.
Так же вторую часть компании огорчили частые вылеты. Почти на каждом автосейфе и загрузке ролика игра вылетала, благо вылет во время сейва в большинстве случаев успевал сохранять этот сейв и не приходилось перепроходить, но все равно сильно раздражало.

Итог:
Не скажу что игра сильно плоха, возможно в сетевой игре она раскрывается сильнее за счет того что игроки ведут себя изобретательнее, но играть в нее в 2к25 скучновато, особенно после поздних частей. Юмор скучноват, но не скажу что сильно плох. Геймплей, по началу интересно, потом очень душно, т.к. большую часть времени ты проводишь по большей части в афк и душишься фармом. Сама игра на 2011 год как по мне сильно слабовата по сравнению с играми тех годов, но опять же задумка была не плоха (учитывая к чему она в итоге пришла).
Если вам захочется сыграть в нее ради ознакомления с серией, то времени много она не займет, пару-тройку вечерочков. А если вы ищете игру развеять скуку, то это игра явно не для вас, уж очень быстро она наскучит.

Game is manifestation of "good idea, poor execution". Dungeon tycoon type game where you need to level up heroes before harvesting them. Problem is due to how your hero system works, you are forced to work as janitor in your own dungeon. Cleaning up fed up heroes before they leave, making you go back and forth to kill them. Prestige points which gates items should incentivize "prettying up" your dungeon but in practise, it force you to spam best available items in some empty room just to unlock stuff. Generally unpleasant gameplay loop.

Игра по моему мнению неплохая. Провел в игре больше часов чем показывает.
Здесь приятная графика, интересный геймплей. Сюжет здесь среднячек, он банальный. В каждой миссии мы что то делаем. Но не понятно зачем и для чего. Просто монологи монологи и монологи. Но проходить было интересно. До самого конца некоторые миссии бросают вызов. Есть аналоги ачивок, типа выполни условия получи бонусы. В целом игра не плохая.
Не стоит игру строить исключительно на минусах.
А тут их тоже много. Баги баги и еще раз баги. А их тут достаточно. Есть миссии где я выполнил условия но не получил награду, под конец много сломанных достижений которые в итоге не дают бонусов их просто не засчитывают.
Баланс монстров очень странный. герои имеют например уровень выше монстров и при этом они проигрывают моим монстрам даже если разница в уровней 7. Стоит сравнять уровни герои просто помирают чаще чем успевают набрать душу. Босс Минотавр был куда жестще чем другие. Не говоря о том что последний босс забаговался, просто побежал из подвала навверх и застрял на лестнице и не дал сопротивления. были баги когда стражник не появился но по факту числится живым и призвать не возможно. Была миссия по защите лягушек. Я ни разу не умер но условие не умереть не засчиталось. Я потерял меньше 20 лягушек но и этот квестн не засчитался, я потерял 50% здоровья своему подчиненному а мне не засчитали этот квест (там условия не опускать его здоровье ниже 20%), есть квест где нужно найти сокровища. Я всю карту вдоль и поперек излазил, перезапускал миссию с 0. Но так и непонятно где она, каждый милиметр изучил карты. В общем не засчитали. В общем есть критические баги которые разработчик не исправил.
Вражеские герои и базы статичные и делают вид что сопротивляются. По факту прибегает герой отхыватывает точки и убегает. либо отхватывает от монстров и убегает и потом они не прибегают по долгу. А можно вообще не раскачиваться а побежать на базу и разнести сердце игнорируя все и даже стража. Я так пару миссий прошел. В обще баланса тут толком нет. Сюжет не затягивает вообще он тут непонятно зачем, не связан ничего не повествует. Бесполезен. Не затягивает в общем игра но пройти ее решил.

People keep comparing this to dungeon keeper and I haven't had the pleasure to play that game. So from a fresh lens yeah it's still boring as ♥♥♥♥. It has an interesting enough start where the premise is to design your dungeon to make adventurers feel accomplished and satisfied in order for you to draw soul power from them when you kill them. Like a really awkward dementor. That's a fine enough premise, in theory it's to incentivize creating a dungeon littered with small-fry and pretty ornaments and setpieces to draw adventurers into traps. What ends up happening is that the game centers around treasure piles designed to be the main attraction to adventurers that you then need to trap making anything else mostly useless. On top of this no monster your provided can actually outright kill an adventurer and the game doesn't really provide you with traps to do it either so it boils down to what others describe as a game centered around xp farming in an arpg because that really is what the game ends up being unfortunately. Maybe it gets better later but checking the reviews and seeing it full of mixed where some people have fond memories or just admit it's repetitive but love it despite that, which I respect, does make me realize I don't need to keep playing this.

У игры незаслуженно низкие отзывы, только из- за сравнения с серий Dungeon Keeper.
Это абсолютно другая игра! Не нужно их сравнивать, хоть они и похожи.
Если DK это симулятор бога. То тут смесь жанров из RPG ( прокачка) и стратегии.
Отдельно стоит выделить юмор, очень хорошие шутки и отсылки к другим видеоиграм и не только.

Viewed as a pure theme park style game Dungeons is an easy recommend. Lots of fun animations and watching the heroes enjoy your dungeon is quite soothing.

The one thing that kind of holds it back is how clunky the combat stuff is, which becomes more of an annoyance as you get deeper into the game. As you inevitably become incredibly strong via the management aspects of the game though it does still end up being quite fun.

Der wenig tiefgängige Wiederbelebungsversuch des antagonistischen Kerkermeister-Spiels, leider ohne den beißenden Witz des Originals und sehr zurückhaltend mit den Möglichkeiten, die sich einer dämonischen Inquisition bieten - wohl auch, um die Alterseinstufung nicht zu gefährden. Die Kampagne zieht sich im Melodrama in die Länge und gesellschaftskritische Töne wurden durch harmlose Referenzen ersetzt.

79 von 100 Punkten, gerade noch eine Empfehlung. Dass es so lange keinen Nachfolger für dieses Genre gab, hat da sehr nachgeholfen.

Dungeons wears Dungeon Keeper's skin like a cheap costume and hopes no one notices the smell.

You’re not an evil overlord here—you’re an underpaid therapist for monsters, making them happy so they can die. That’s not satire. That’s the core mechanic.

The gameplay loop is a beige circle of boredom, wrapped in UI that fights you, graphics that aged in dog years, and a tone so painfully unfunny it feels like a dare.

There’s no chaos. No bite. No soul. Just soulless “soul point” farming in a dungeon-themed spreadsheet with lighting effects.

This isn’t dark comedy. It’s comedy’s rotting corpse, propped up and forced to dance.

The interface doesn't resize properly with my screen's resolution, leaving some interface elements such as ability buttons partially off the screen. I've tried a bunch of different resolution options and nothing seems to help. The text size in my native resolution is uncomfortably small. All of these issues greatly diminish my ability to enjoy this game.

If you come from the modern Dungeons games like me and want to give the first game a try, don't bother. The gameplay is so different as the only game in the series and is not fun at all; it quite literally boils down to farming XP. To my understanding, the Dungeons as we know it had sort of a reboot with the second game. Dungeons II has the gameplay and storytelling as you know it from 3 and 4 and you should start from there if you want to give the older ones a try and the story from the later games also has its start in Dungeons II.

Dungeons is actually a very famous series where you control The Dark Lord, an overlord hungry for power and gold.

You're tasked with completing a bunch of missions all revolving around the Evil Forces beneath the ground, who are constantly digging and plotting to take over the surface world. That's about it for the plot that's more there to "easter egg" certain movies than to actually be relevent... (You shall not pass? Really?)

My problem with the game is that it really tries its hardest to be funny, and it's not... Not nowadays at any rate! This will probably would have made me crack a giggle back in the 90s... Now it's too corny to be taken seriously. Let's talk about how the game works: Your darklord has a "Dungeon Heart" (when that thing's life points go to Zero, you lose). Your Darklord also has levels and some RPG related stuff on the side, more on that later. Your goblins can dig through the dungeon and make a bunch of rooms; such as a library and an armory. You have three resources; gold, spiritual energy and prestige... You get all of them from the "heroes" that get into your dungeon, uninvited of course, with promises of riches and gold. Each "hero" has already a purse full of gold, and the more he's satisfied the more spiritual energy they yield. Thing is, when you build a Prison Room, your "incapacitated" heroes go in there for some lovely second-hand torture, that ends up also yielding more spiritual energy (let's just call it GREEN). GREEN of a hero increases the more they find stuff in your dungeon; gold piles, totems... You know, things you're actually looking for as you're exploring Skyrim as the HERO of that specific game. When the GREEN bar is full, it's time to incapacitate that hero, then your goblins carry them to the prison where they will generate GREEN resource. Prestige simply equates to the level of your dungeon. You can also lay about your dungeon some ritual cirlces that spawn creatures that fight these heroes; that's very important as some adventurers crave fighting monsters and their GREEN bar will only grow by having them fight your underlings.

That's basically the gist of the game; build rooms that attract heroes, when they are satisfied with their quest, incapacitate them and torture them, which helps you make your dungeon bigger, stronger and more appealing for the heroes.

Graphically speaking, this game is really bad; let's just say it really didn't age well, but I had fun building and "beautifying" my dungeon, but only THE FIRST TIME. It gets repetitive really quickly. I'd give the game [b]6/10[/b]. It's the cringe references and attempt at humour that's really done it for me to be honest.

This game holds a lot of charm and nostalgia for me, so I'm thrilled that it runs so well on my modern PC. I haven't had to mess with anything to keep it stable. I think that in my ~40 hours of playing, I've only had two crashes. Much better than a lot of other old games I remember playing from CDs. And that's good, because I can easily play for hours and hours at a time, and I lose track of when and where I am. Messing around, creating the most sadistic dungeon possible, and dressing it up so it feels bonita is addictively fun and relaxing.

On the other hand, the game does have a lot of jank. There's a freeze every time it autosaves, which can interrupt what you're doing. Animations frequently mess themselves up. Combat involves a lot of random number rolls to determine attacking, dodging, etc., but it's often unclear if your attack missed or if the enemy has a mana shield or invulnerability power active. Finally, the game has a very specific (and, in 2025, old-fashioned) sense of humor. Overall, I find it charming, but I can imagine other people getting annoyed or finding it cringe. Be warned.

TL;DR: the game runs surprisingly well on modern machines, and the gameplay loop is awesome. Some good old-fashioned jank holds Dungeons back from being truly great, but it can't stop the fun.

A dated but euphoric gem. It unravels a beautiful satire on dungeon delving tropes from the unorthodox perspective of the BBEG. Humorous and strategic game play allowing you to control the flow and path of unsuspecting heroes. Very wel thought out with a decent amount of replayability. I am grateful for stumbling upon this ancient treasure.

Палец вниз за всратый лаунчер без которого в игру даже зайти нельзя. Я купил игру в стим и не желаю регаться где-то на сторонних платформах! Благо умельцы за годы нашли как эту помойку отключить из автозапуска. Человеку который придумал такой подход с лаунчером лучи поноса.

"Let's copy Dungeon Keeper, but change a bunch of things to make a different game."

Cool. Did it work? No. This game feels like a bizarre concoction featuring some of the good parts of Dungeon Keeper, a theme park manager, and an aRPG.

You have a dungeon, where you can build things, expand, and so on. You then get invaded by heroes, which you first have to let loot your treasure, kill your minions, and... gawk at the props you can decorate your dungeon with, so that they may grow stronger, and are more valuable to slay.

The idea is good, but the execution is terrible. Your minions barely do anything, and you have to kill the heroes yourself with your own hero. Meanwhile, you also have to use him to do some side objectives on the opposite side of the map. This makes for a frustrating experience.
And, despite the fact that you can level up, and teach yourself new skills/abilities, the combat is nothing to write home about, and becomes tedious rather quickly, since you'll be fighting waves and waves of samey minions. Couple that with the fact that the controls are awkward, you get whatever this is.

Grałem w Dungeon Keeper, ale moja ocena jest czysto obiektywna.
Zalety:
- Gra ma oryginalne podejście. Pomysłowe..... i to tyle.
Wady:
- Trzeba założyć konto na innej stronie, bo nie można w nią zagrać.
- Ciężkie sterowanie, bardzo ciężkie.
- Gra nie zatrzymuje się jak są instrukcje. W ogóle nie ma możliwości zatrzymania gry aby przeczytać instrukcje.
- Gra bardzo powolna. Brakuje jej dynamiki. Przypomina grę w szachy.
- W instrukcjach mało co jest wytłumaczone i nie ma dobrego tutoriala.

Dungeons hat viele eigene Ideen und auch die einzelnen Level / Missionsziele sind abwechslungsreich. Wenn man vorher Dungeon Keeper gespielt hat und hier ähnliches erwartet muss man sich ganz schön umgewöhnen, direkt steuerbar ist nur der Dungeon Lord selber und teilweise ist es schwierig, an allen Orten gleichzeitig zu sein, wo er gebraucht wird, hier kommt man um gutes Timing nicht herum. Ich habe sehr regelmäßig gespeichert, das hat geholfen. In sehr seltenen Fällen konnte ein Speicherstand nicht geladen werden, auch hier half regelmäßiges soeichern.

Es gibt einige wenige Level, die erstaunlich schwer sind, vor allem wenn man sich verskillt.

Um die Bosse zu besiegen muss man sich immer etwas einfallen lassen, speziell bei dem ersten aufeinandertreffen mit Calypso selbst muss man ein bisschen nachdenken, wie man sie besiegen kann. Phase 2 ist dann viel leichter.

Alles in allem ein schönes Spiel mit vielen eigenen Ideen, teilweise überraschend schweren Leveln und genau richtig, um Abends eine Runde zu spielen.

I love the different take on Dungeon Crafting that is presented in Dungeons. The idea of luring the heroes in, making them as happy as possible, and then sucking the soul energy from them as they die is truly diabolical and befitting of the genre. Years prior to purchasing this bundle, I bought Dungeons on CD and decided to get the bundle for all the added content that I do not have.

My only criticism of the game is that the initial tutorial level didn't seem to clearly explain the goals for completion and I found myself clicking all over the place trying to figure out what I was supposed to do. It is possible I just missed something, but since I already had a pretty good idea what was up I figured it out eventually.

I came here after jumping in the series with Dungeons 3. What a sobering experience it was.

After reading by all that it is NOT the later games and not DK, but is about getting heroes happy and then "harvesting them, I went through the act of trying it. The first 3 levels I played were still part of the into into the game mechanics but oh boy was it clunky and no intuitive. Cutscenes are weird and distort your already confused world view. You have a weird character skill tree that sort of looks like a Dragon Age rip off?!

Requesting a refund (request in progress because i really tried (even with some Youtube walkthroughs) to remove some drudgery but it was just not rewarding and didn't hold the promise of more reward.
