Secuela clásica y super disfrutable aún a día de hoy, incluso a mi gusto para jugar actualmente me gusta más que el primero, como en el primero he leído críticas de problemas en los inputs pero desde luego que yo no he tenido ninguno, he completado el juego al 100% y siempre que he muerto era fallo mío por pulsar tarde o demasiado pronto, el director's cut no merece mucho la pena pues solo acorta el final sin ser siquiera la idea clásica de que los tesoros fueran solo para eso, pues siguen siendo obligatorios, pero esta bien que se añada pues es contenido que se descartó y mola poder verlo y disfrutarlo.

This continues the tradition of being more of an interactive cartoon than a traditional video game - but with some meaningful improvements. Like Space Ace, the prompts are much easier to hit than in the original Dragon’s Lair, which helps make the experience feel more manageable and less like pure guesswork. This sequel also follows a more defined sequence of events instead of the random scene order from the first game, making it feel more like a proper story rather than a chaotic highlight reel of death traps. That said, the classic mode is still punishingly vague - no prompts, no mercy. But once again, Don Bluth’s animation is the real star here. Dragon's Lair 1 required memorization and timing. Dragon's Lair 2 requires the ability to observe everything on the screen and to mentally filter out the unnecessary parts. Thankfully, throughout Dragon's Lair 2, flashing objects in the background (and the cues of sound effects) are the game's way of telling you when to press up, down, left, right, or sword. Dragon's Lair 2 is more forgiving and easier to play than Dragon's Lair 1 was. Both games feature the distinctive traditional animation style of Don Bluth.

Dragon's Lair 2 might offend Christians and Jews during the Garden of Eden stage. Dragon's Lair 2 might offend feminists. Dragon's Lair 2 might be too intense for children due to the many different gruesome ways that the protagonist can die when the player makes a mistake.

( That said, I personally love both games. Back when they first came to arcades, Dragon's Lair 1 and 2 were the sort of video games where a crowd of onlookers would gather behind you as you progressed further and further through each game. It was confidence-building, then AND now. )

Cela coupe le rythme du jeu puis les situations sont vraiment desastreuses par rapport au premier : Le monde d Alice en passant par le paradis et beethoven c est vraiment n importe quoi .... la realisation est tres bonne mais cela reste quand meme un QTE qui se termine rapidement (moins de 10 minutes)

What I remember about Dragon's Lair 1 that appeared in the video arcades in 1984 when I was 11 years old was that one only had to remember 4 or 5 sequences in a row to complete a cutscene and that the cutscenes would appear randomly with the exception of the final cutscene that involved the dragon where one had to do 12 or whatever the number was sequences in a row correctly. Never saw that in the arcade but saw that in the DVD version of the game I bought many year back. In this version of the game (I did not count it) one has to remember 12 or more cutscenes in a row to complete a sequence. That is nearly impossible and goes against the spirit of the original game. Where the cutscenes made sense in the original game it does not make any sense in this game and are far less enjoyable. The original game had more of a dungeons and dragons vibe and theme and here we jump from eden to beethoven's piano and the entire game has been reduced to a farce. Luckily I bought this on a steam special and now I know this game does not improve on the first game and I guess that is worth what I paid alone. How it is possible to get something right with the first game and then get it completely wrong with the second game I don't know.

I loved this game so much! It was hard yes, but despite all the deaths this game is more than worth it. Though yeah, the price is a bit much for this and the other games in the pack so it might be best to wait for a sale, but the game itself is super fun, especially after the first playthrough when I got the hang of the stages. There are a couple glitches though, as the cool patch they gave for quality of life has, at least with the other games but I didn't see anything of note here, messed with the timings and broke some gameplay, and I think broke some death animations as I have noticed for at least the other games, but I don't remember any mismatching here, but even so the watch game option is available so you can see all the animations regardless of glitches. It took me 4 runs through the game, 2 technically with the other 2 being runs through the first 6 levels to get the double negative achievement, but they were still a fun experience, even if I needed to take breaks between stages as in this game they are super long. At least the lives counter is almost worthless in this game as there is no points system and the only thing it does is make it so you have to reclaim treasures again if you hadn't beaten the stage yet. But yeah, if you get this game, it is super fun, and I highly recommend you play without the move guide, as the move guide just makes you focus on that instead of seeing the gorgeous visuals which tell you how to react in their own special way. Though this is in my opinion the most difficult of the 3 games, but all the game asks of you is to beat it, so just relax, remember the patterns, and enjoy the show.

"Dragon's Lair 2: Time Wrap" es la continuación de la historia contada en el título anterior "Dragon's Lair". Aquí volvemos a encarnar a nuestro tan querido y desaventurado caballero el cual acabó por casarse con la princesa que salvó en el pasado juego pero con la mala suerte de que vuelve a ser secuestrada esta vez por una especie de mago ilusionista bastante poderoso.

La historia es bastante entretenida. Siempre me ha gustado la manera en la que se cuenta la historia de esta saga. Es básicamente un corto de animación que, sin necesidad de diálogos, cuenta una historia con claros tintes épicos a la par que cómicos.

El soundtrack es repetitivo. Está claro que la banda sonora busca asemejarse lo máximo posible a la utilizada en los dibujos animados clásicos de cuando estaban las tiendas que ofrecían máquinas recreativas. Sin embargo, al cabo de un par de intentos, la banda sonora se hace muy repetitiva principalmente por que siempre usa los mismos efectos aunque no se le puede negar que están muy conseguidos.

El gameplay es idéntico al de su predecesor con algunas diferencias. En este título la mecánica jugable a seguir sigue siendo la misma. Es una historia de fondo en el que se nos pedirá presionar ciertos comandos en un periodo de tiempo muy corto (QuickTime events) con la esperanza de que nuestro héroe avance hasta la siguiente estancia y vuelta a empezar. A medida que avancemos nos iremos encontrando con objetos que, si interactuamos con ellos, funcionarán a modo de coleccionables los cuales nos permitirán disfrutar del final que nos ofrece este título.

Los logros son de dificultad fácil. La verdad es que no me ha costado conseguir el platino de este título pues es simplemente jugar una vez tras otra. Algún que otro logro se debe de conseguir realizando una acción muy concreta pero que es fácil de detectar el momento en el que debe de realizarse. A excepción de ese par de logros, el resto simplemente consta de no fallar ningún comando o simplemente finalizar el juego en distintas dificultades que tampoco le añaden mucho juego.

En conclusión, ¿Recomendaría este título? Pues no veo porqué no, la verdad. Es prácticamente idéntico a su predecesor "Dragon's Lair". Los personajes estreotipados de carácter cómico, la historia entretenida y ligera, el gameplay aceptable y una música que, aunque olvidable, es disfrutable. Nada de lo que ofrece este título es el descubrimiento de la panacea pero el conjunto de todo lo mencionado anteriormente lo convierte en un videojuego bastante disfrutable con el que echarse unas risas e incluso sentir un poco de nostalgia con el estilo tan particular que usa tanto en la animación como el tono que busca expresar. Si disfrutaste "Dragon's Lair", disfrutarás este juego sin lugar a dudas.

Играл в режиме Director's Cut(не знаю, чем отличается от ориджинал). Что сказать. Мульт красивый, но как игра это кошмар наяву для эпилептиков, а ещё резкая, как диарэя. Но и это бы ладно. Там оказывается надо собирать сокровища. Обязательно. Только узнаёшь это постфактум и приходится перепроходить всю игру заного, тк тут нет выбора уровня. Советую кстати сначала посмотреть игровой мультик, там можно понять, где эти дерь мо-сокровища брать. И да, взять их с первого раза не всегда получается, даже если знать, где они((

Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp is the Sequel to the original Dragon's Lair...and succeeds at that! Dragon's Lair II works just like the first one, where you have to make the right choice at the right time without messing up. What Dragon's Lair II does better than the first one, though, are the Stages. This time, there are only about 8 stages which are all connected. These are MASSIVE. Don Bluth had more time with the Stages and was able to be more creative, as now Dirk has to go to different timezones to collect treasures with the help of an speaking time machine. If that doesn't sound crazy enough, the Stages are even more crazy, with having to make a move seemingly every second, as there is a lot of stuff happening. Luckily, Don Bluth always highlighted most of the moves you were required to do, and many that weren't were obvious. A Stage alone could take 10 minutes to beat, as the setpieces are huge. Speaking of setpieces, these are:

The Dragon's Lair (with Singe's skeleton being in the background, cool detail), the first encounter with Mordrock, Daphne's new kidnapper and the original owner of the Castle, Alice in Wonderland (which is somehow a time period and is very reminicent of Disney's Alice in Wonderland), Garden Eden (Adam and Eve are even in it, just not biblically accurate), Giant Beethoven (once again, how is this a time period?) Ancient Egypt and last but not least: the Final Stage with Mordrock. There was also a Pirate Stage planned but got canned. You can even see a Pirate flag when Dirk gives all the collected treasure to his kids (he has like 10 of them, truly a busy man Dirk must be) which is clearly a leftover.

Yeah, really. When I said this game's stages were massive, I meant it! The Animation once again is done by Don Bluth and is a clear step-up from the original. It's more detailed and impressive, showing how just great of an Animator Don Bluth truly is.

Even though the Gameplay stayed the same, there is a new mechanic: the treasure! Treasure is collected in each stage, which is required to progress to the final stage. This got dumped in the Home Computer ports of Dragon's Lair II (which are not worth checking out). Back to the treasure: There are about 11 treasure pieces to collect throughout the stages. These are: an Arrow, a Bow, a Key (another reference to the first Dragon's Lair as it is the Key Singe wears around his neck), an Egg, an Ace, an Hammer, a Butterfly, two golden Apples and an Hourglass. Whenever the player didn't collect all the treasure, he has to start over again and try to collect all the treasure once more. The Steam Port, however, will save the treasure you already collected and will only require you to collect the treasure you missed. It's an interesting mechanic that isn't immidately known, as the treasure is easy to miss on a first playthrough.

Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp was really succesful at the time of it's release, being the Nr. 1 Arcade Game in November of 1991. The first Dragon's Lair released 1983. That was 8 Years after the first Dragon's Lair Game! Not surprising considering of the huge setpieces, Don Bluth's beautiful Animation and improved gameplay, which makes Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp worthy of an try if you enjoyed the first one. Don Bluth nailed it once again.

Показалась еще сложнее первой из-за того, что динамика как будто возросла, а чекпоинтов внутри сцен вообще нет, а сцены большие. В итоге при смерти надо с самого начала сцены играть. В первой комнаты были маленькими. В итоге, оказывается, еще, что для концовки надо собрать все коктебелсы. Тут я вообще офигел. Но я приноровился и прошел игру дважды, в оригинале и директор-кате. Без подсказок, как и первую, даже не буду пытаться. Первое время вообще смотришь только на них. А мультик можно и в меню целиком глянуть.

Rispetto al primo capitolo questo gioco è più lineare. Per chi sa apprezzare le animazioni a tecnica tradizionale, adorera questo gioco. Basato come gameplay praticamente solo su "Quic event", il gioco risulta più difficile di quel che sembra. Le immagini in movimento sono cosi divertenti e folli che distraggono facilmente. Inoltre, per sbloccare il finale, è necessario raccogliere alcuni oggetti durante l'avventura, e trovarli tutti non è semplice. E' un ardua sfida. Mi spiace solo che il doppiaggio italiano sia assente.

This game ate so many arcade quarters, yes it kinda loses something not being in an arcade cabinet, it is sort of the original fmv dvd game, but it is such beautiful Disney style classic animation. If you can, buying a table top style arcade contoller definitely helps versus using a modern controller or keyboard.

Это прям лучшая часть трилогии. Здесь игра более благосклонна к игроку. В оригинальной части нужно было самому догадываться в какой момент и в какую сторону нажимать кнопки (я говорю про классический режим без подсказок). Здесь же интерактивные объекты подсвечиваются желтым, что дает визуальную подсказку о том, что нужно делать и куда прыгать. Тем самым игру вполне реально пройти с выключенными гайдами, что я и сделал. К тому же, если тупо жать кнопки по гайдам, то игру пройти не получится, так как по ходу сюжета нужно отыскать все спрятанные артефакты, а для этого нужно жать не те кнопки.

Szczęście nie trwa zbyt długo coś o tym wiem.Bijcie na alarm nasza Daphne znów została porwana tym razem przez złego czarnoksiężnika Mordroca,który chce pojąć ją za żonę.Któż ach któż przybędzie jej na ratunek... ? oczywiście Dirk,który będzie musiał przemierzyć czasoprzestrzeń (dosłownie i przenośni) aby odzyskać ukochaną. Druga część przygód dzielnego rycerza obfitująca w twist jakich mało (rzecz jasna w analogu animacyjnym).Wszystko wykreowane w niesamowitej głowie Dona Blutha. Polecam bo kontynuacja dorównuje oryginałowi.Pady w dłoń i zróbcie show bo szlachetność oraz bohaterzy są w cenie.

Si buscas por internet un longplay de Dragons Lair 2, lo más probable es que encuentres vídeos de escasos diez minutos de duración. Piensas que el juego seguro no es la gran cosa y que hasta el más novato se lo puede terminar. Pero en cuanto tomas los controles... ¡ay amigo!, no es tan fácil avanzar como creías. Lo de ensayo y error está más presente que nunca.

Esta secuela salió allá por el 91 en máquinas arcade, y con la entrada de la nueva década de la animación (quizás la última época buena de la misma antes de que casas como Pixar, DreamWorks o Sony Pictures Animation nos aburriesen con un corta y pega anual), el producto se masticaba muy superior a su original de los ochenta. Ya de por si, el proyecto de Dragons Lair fue arriesgado y avanzado a su tiempo. Don Bluth hizo un gran trabajo con el equipo de RDI Video Systems y el éxito fue indiscutible. Pero esta segunda entrega deja ver los fallos y leves errores de su antecesor si se comparan.

Para empezar, "La máquina del tiempo" muestra de forma lineal una persecución para rescatar a la Princesa Daphne a lo largo de ocho etapas temáticas donde visitaremos lugares del mundo como Egipto, cuentos clásicos como Alicia en el País de las Maravillas, e incluso hechos históricos como Beethoven en plena ráfaga creativa (ojo al guiño de Elton John). Incluso iremos al mismísimo Jardín del Edén (la Eva con sobrepeso intentando ligar con Dirk, el héroe protagonista, es de lo más divertido que dieron los videojuegos en aquellos nostálgicos noventa). Esta variedad de entornos no existía en la primera entrega donde todo ocurría dentro de un mismo castillo pero de forma aleatoria, llegando a repetir algunas secuencias a la inversa para estirar un poco la experiencia.
Además, en Dragons Lair 2 se nos reta a ir consiguiendo varios objetos que irán apareciendo durante el viaje por los distintos mundos, pudiendo hacernos con ellos pulsando la tecla correspondiente. Esto hace que sea muy rejugable.
Como capricho personal, destacar que, al igual que ya sucedía con el título original, hay infinidad de animaciones de muerte cargadas de humor que casi invitan a que fallemos al pulsar las teclas para poder verlas todas y admirar el gran trabajo que realizaron los animadores.

El único aspecto negativo que creo destacaría de esta versión disponible en Steam, es que habiendo jugado a la versión en DVD de Dragons Lair 2 hace unos años (entre 2006 y 2007), se notan ciertos problemas de detección y coordinación de las teclas con el tiempo real del juego. Resulta confuso pulsar, por ejemplo, la tecla "arriba" cuando sabes de sobra que es la que toca tanto en el momento como en la situación de la escena, pero que el juego te diga que lo has hecho mal. Creo que en la ya mencionada versión en DVD el margen de error era más flexible, o al menos no era tan puñetero como este. Salvo ese detalle, recomiendo a todos los valientes subirse a la máquina del tiempo y explorar lo que una vez fue un gran referente de las películas interactivas. No hace falta haber jugado al primero para disfrutar este.

Ah Dragon's Lair 2!

Even better than Dragon's Lair in its scenario and of course voice actor (The two snakes are just marvelous)
As always high quality animations from Bluth and Goldman, only positive comments in these points.

However the difficulty level of the game was highly diminished mostly because of the numerous choices that a well designed story can suggest rather than a linear dungeon from the first DL. You can finish the game in 15 minutes without the helper.

But anyway still a great game and a great classic, can't wait to see the Netflix movie coming this year!

Этот обзор будет практически идентичным для трех игр от [b]Digital Leisure[/b], так как эти игры идентичны в геймплейном плане, и немного разные в целом. Чем же хороша эта игра? Безусловно, своим безумно красивым визуальным стилем, пожалуй на этом плюсы закончились xD

Эта игра, учитывая нынешние реалии не имеет геймплея от слова совсем. Ты будешь нажимать на 5 клавиш в течении чуть больше 10 минут, которые растянутся на 30-40 из-за неоправданной сложности. Можно подумать, зачем придираться к интерактивному кинцу того времени, но кинца то вы и не увидите. Игра требует настолько быстрой реакций на Move Guide, что времени на разглядывания картинки у вас не будет. И ведь не удивительно, потому что игра была создана для игровых автоматов с целью вытягивания твоих шекелей. Однако, пройдя одну игру, вы поймете, что остальные не вызовут у вас больших сложностей.

Еще из минусов, хотелось бы отметить рваные анимации в некоторых моментах, где вы промахиваетесь, а герой делает верное действие, после чего умирает. Сломанные достижения тоже не очень радуют. Отсутствие сюжета удручает. Проклятые сокровища тоже напрягают.

Подытоживая, игра не стоит своих денег сейчас, если ты хочешь проникнутся классикой, то в случае с этой игрой это можно сделать на YouTube, так как жанр позволяет. Тогда вопрос, почему обзор положительный? Дело в том, что почти ко всему этому, покупая игру, я был готов. И моей целью было именно своими руками познакомиться с отцами всех QTE.

Dragon's Lair 2 is a great experience. It's not like most games these days, but I still enjoyed playing it a lot when I used to play it as a kid.

The version I played back then was a cheap port to the PC and even that version was like heaven when compared to this piece of trash.

Pros:
+ It has high resolution video
+ DL2 is just a fun game to play / unique experience to be had on it's own
+ The featured animation of the cut pirate stage was a nice addition

Cons:
- The "director's cut" is a joke. Literally all they did was [i]cut[/i] the final boss from the game, making it anticlimactic and far less fun to play.
- The game straight up doesn't work with keyboard controls. You [i]have[/i] to use a controller, because for some reason it only picks up every 10th key-stroke.
- The game doesn't save properly (most of the time you can't restore a game anymore and it doesn't remember your settings).
- The Settings can not be changed mid game.
- The game crashed on me a couple of times.
- The user interface sometimes works.
- The game is way overpriced, even when it's on sale for 5€.
- There are way too few achievements.
- There is no way to turn off the movement-guide overlay, even when movement guiding is turned off.

From a programming standpoint, making a game like this is as easy as it gets. And I have no idea how they even managed to screw this up so bad.
If this is version 2.0.0, I don't want to know what 1.0 was like.

Like Space Ace and the first Dragon's Lair, Dragon's Lair 2 has the same quick-time event-style gameplay, so if you've enjoyed your time with the other two games, this one should be an easy buy as well. The same fantastic animation by Don Bluth is present in this game as well, and it's still just as much fun to watch everything, even the deaths.

That said, there's a lot of things that improve the game compared to its predecessors as well. The flashing lights are always present to tell you which action to take, rather than only sometimes, so a lot of the frustration when playing without a move guide is gone. One could argue this frustration is replaced with having to find secret treasures throughout the game or else repeat the whole story again, but most of them are relatively easy to see, and the game is pretty generous with telling you where they are with the flashing lights. There is also a lot more generosity in the timing of the action prompts: mashing the buttons until an action is taken seems to actually work in this one compared to the stricter timing in the first Dragon's Lair. Finally, the new locations are incredibly diverse and interesting, ranging from standard time travel locations like Prehistoric Times and ancient Egypt to more out there locations like the Garden of Eden or during a piano performance by Beethoven.

Like all other games in the Dragon's Lair Trilogy, however, this game is incredibly short if one knows what they're doing. Ultimately, it comes down to how much you like the gameplay and animation of these types of games. Personally, I'd recommend them due to my own enjoyment with them, even if I've never played them before. There really aren't many games like these, and I think the uniqueness and charm of the experience alone is worth the sale price.

Это первый взгляд на игру. Не путайте с понятием "обзор". Здесь я делюсь с вами настоящими, живыми ощущениями и эмоциями от первого запуска игрового продукта и не имею опыта полного прохождения. А ещё я часто раздаю бесплатные ключи к играм!

Сиквел очень странной и безумно короткой аркады. Вторая часть стала мягче относиться к игроку, давая ему больше времени на реакцию. Однако введение артефактов, которые вы должны собирать опираясь исключительно на свою реакцию сломало логику геймплея, которую задал оригинал. Управление никак не обыгрывает появление бонусных действий. А так как большую часть времени игрок смотрит на индикатор кнопок артефакты проходят мимо. И об этом вам предстоит узнать лишь после полного прохождения игры. Разработчики искусственно заставляют нас переигрывать. Лично мне такой подход неприятен и никогда не нравился. Однако рисовка стала ещё лучше. В игре появились диалоги, которые чуть оживили происходящее на экране. Я всё так же не могу порекомендовать эту игру другим из-за её специфичности и кривости в реализации.

Вторая часть Dragon's Lair удалась на славу! В новом QTE-фильме разработчики от жанра "Приключение" перешли к жанру "Психоделика" причем, что называется "с гарантией". Теперь игроку не только нужно вовремя нажимать кнопки во время просмотра, но и удивляться, насколько забористое курево было в Америке в начале 90х, когда создавалась игра. Полет фантазии впечатляет… При всем прочем, игра на любителя и посоревноваться в геймплее может лишь с тренажерами по быстрому нажатию клавиш.

So nice to be able to play a game that I was never able to beat in the arcade before it disappeared. Spent far less buying it on Steam at this time than I probably spent in the arcade. Some of the interactions are touchy in places, but all are manageable. I know it isn't for everyone, but it was a nice piece of nostalgia for me.

Rispetto al primo titolo si nota una maggiore fluidità delle animazioni quando si passa da una sequenza all'altra, sfortunatamente questa volta non ci saranno dungeon casuali, ma ci si troverà a giocare una storia completamente lineare suddivisa in capitoli, e sarà necessario raccogliere dei manufatti. Ogni volta che si muore si riparte dall'inizio del capitolo, fatta eccezione per il primo capitolo che facilita un po' il giocatore, facendolo ripartire da dei check point. Il gioco senza suggerimenti, lo si finisce in circa 4 ore.

Riguardo al gameplay devo dire che l'azione in gioco non è facile da seguire e le principali cause sono inquadrature talvolta troppo distanti o cambi di inquadratura repentini (parecchi in questo titolo rispetto al primo), anche i movimenti richiesti non rispecchiano sempre l'azione del personaggio in gioco.

This game is just as good as the first if not better. Keep in mind it expects you to already be good at Dragon's Lair type gameplay from beating the first, so it's a lot harder. Just as much heart, even more story, both a perfect example of the "expendable hero simulator", but the polar opposite aswell in that it is one of the great video game lovestories of all time. Come see Dirk and Daphne's cute kids!

Что я могу сказать игра сложнее 1 части.Определённо.Без гайда (как это обычно делаю)вас ждёт попа боль.Мало того что игра сама по себе усложнилась дак теперь в ней ещё и колектибалсы нужно собирать.Причём обязательно.А так как ты этого можешь не знать (особенно если сунулся впервые)недопонимаю твоему не будет предела.Дон Блут тот ещё сукин сын даже хеппи энд и тот надо проходить.Но мне нравится.Анимация явно вышла на новый уровень.Сразу видно что у него не было ограничений ибо фантазмагория ситуаций в которых побывает дирк поражает.Из минусов слетевшие настройки посреди прохождения.Решил я пройти игру без гайда по движениям (благо всё стало в разы понятнее и запоминать надо меньше)ну и решил я на середине игры сохранится и пойти спать.Так вот не совершайте этой ошибки эмулятор сохранит игру а настройки поставит стандартные тобишь мув гуид будет включен.Проходить игру без мув гуида ради ачивки на последнем уровне ну такое.Так что посчитаем что я всё выполнил кроме пред последнего и последнего уровней.А значит я вполне могу судить игру.
Вывод:Игра шагнула вперёд в плане анимации и простоты но в итоге дон блуд засунул ещё больше жопа раздирающих геймплейных фишек и за чего игра стала сложнее хотя всё выглядит проще.Но я скушол и мне понравилось.Дай ещё.И он дал в игре Space Ace но это совсем другая история.

Dragon's Lair 2 is even harder that the first game due to the fact you have to collect hidden item which is pretty annoying on some level. Its a decent follow up for the first Dragon's Lair, but offer nothing more then harder gameplay, but still there is a easy game mode allowed.

Dragon's Lair 2: Time Warp é a sequência do clássico do arcade Dragon's Lair. Nela vemos Dirk tendo que salvar novamente a princesa das garras de um terrível mago, dessa vez usando uma máquina do tempo para perseguí-lo em diferentes épocas e lugares. A animação nesse segundo jogo consegue a proeza de ser ainda mais detalhada e fluída que a de seu antecessor. A estrutura do jogo, porém, muda um pouco aqui: ao invés de ser dividido em várias salas que aparecem aleatoriamente até o final como o primeiro jogo, o segundo jogo aposta em uma história mais linear dividida em épocas - se o jogador morre, volta para o início da época. Também foram adicionados flashes de luz que indicam que direção pressionar, ausente no primeiro jogo, o que evita frustração por não saber o que fazer. Eu pessoalmente gostei ainda mais desse jogo que do primeiro. Além da versão normal, ainda tem a Versão do Diretor com um final diferente.

Much like Space Ace, this port of Dragon's Lair 2 is the same as the port of the first game, but without any of the special features, making it not really worth the ten bucks.

Dragon's Lair 2 is longer than its predeccessors, and yet much less coherent. Its just weird. The plot follows Dirk (still a silent doofus) trying to rescue Daphne (still an over-sexualized caricature) from an evil wizard, who wants to put a cursed wedding ring on her finger that will turn her into a monster. He does so by stealing a futuristic time machine (that speaks with the voice of a stuffy old English guy) from a Scottish snake and using it to pursue the wizard (who is the time machine's brother!?) to other lands such as the Garden of Eden (occupied by fat campy angels and an aggressive, obese Eve) and Alice's Wonderland (which manages to be weirder than you'd expect). Its downright trippy.

The individual scenes are much longer here than in previous games, meaning if you screw up you better be prepared to play back through the whole five-minute sequence again. It does a better job of telegraphing what buttons to push and when than its predeccessors, though, making the little button prompts at the bottom of the screen obsolete, especially as they can lead you astray if you're following them blindly.

This is because the game has a whole "treasure" mechanic, where there are several treasures hidden in each scene that you must collect to be able to access the game's ending. If you reach the last scene without all the treasures, it makes you start all over again. They're a nightmare to find without help and the button prompts never prompt you to grab them. I ended up just doing the "watch the game" option so I could see how it ended without having to replay the whole thing over twelve times. Not a great mechanic.

Again not sure if this is a bad port or a problem with modern pc setups (graphics card or boosted cpu's) but is unplayable.

I am a fan of the origanal games (Dragons lair 1 & 2 and Space ace) they are challenging games needing quick reflexes, but this game runs like a kid on a sugar rush hyperspeed (video feed so fast you cant see it let alone make a choice) then sometimes slugish and slow, its controls are unresponsive at best.

A decent game, where you go through quick time events to save a princess.

The game looks pretty good, like the other games in the series.

However, it falls in the same pitfalls as the other Dragon's Lair and Space Ace. The game is short, and QTEs isn't the best gameplay. This game has more gameplay than the others, as you have to collect these treasures to beat the game, but that just makes you press a different direction during the game. Still pretty fun though.

Dragon's Lair 2: Time Warp es un juego de Quick Time Events (QTE) tipo Arcade, donde los reflejos y estar atentos es lo principal, tenemos el uso de 4 direcciones y 1 boton que es la espada, pero con eso basta para crear unas situaciones muy dificiles y poner a prueba tu habilidad y concentracion este Dragon's Lair es mucho mas frenetico que el primero no para la accion literalmente de inicio a fin, en este titulo habra mas variedad de stages desde el medievo hasta egipto, y otros lugares que no quiero hacer spoilers pero si son muy variados a mi me gusto muchisimo aparte el arte las animaciones son IMPRECIONANTES hechas por Don Bluth un animador muy talentoso de los 80s/90s , ademas en el sistema de juego se agregaron unos coleccionables que debes encontrar para poder acceder al final real del juego, tiene una dificultad bastante buena, me parecio una experiencia muy refrescante a pesar de ser un juego "viejo" ya no se ven juegos asi, mucha gente dice si es un QTE pues velo en youtube cosa que no recomiendo no es lo mismo no es la experiencia completa. recomendaria que jugaran el Dragons Lair 1 y despues el 2 pero tranquilamente se puede jugar directo al 2pero claro que lo recomiendo es genial!

Lo jugue con un control de xbox 360 y no tuve ningun problema y tampoco ningun crasheo.

En un Windows 7 de 64 bits.

A hard as nails classic arcade game of greatness. It is a gorgeous game that has visuals to appeal to all forever. Unfortunatly with how hard the game is and how they have stacked the gameplay, you dont get to notice as much in the animation as you really should to fully appreciate it. However it is a full experience and it is well worth the money just to able to see the game animation let alone play it at home without having to spend 50 dollars in quarters. If you like animation and dont mind hard challenging games. Pick this up. Also please if you like this support Bluth in his efforts to create a movie. He needs all the help he can get.

This is the ultimate game of the Dragon's Lair "Trilogy". Now remastered and looking better than ever!
This game learns from Space Ace and Dragon's Lair and makes the most polished interactive cartoon you'll ever see.
I'm especially a fan of the option to watch the entire cartoon in one uninterupted burst. Some stages need a checkpoint, because you are expected to make 20-30 correct button presses w/o an error, but it's really not that hard. There is a telegraph for every move (even if sometimes it's a little hidden) and you can have big on screen arrows blatantly tell you what needs to be pressed if you still can't get it. This feature was needed more in Dragon's Lair or Space Ace, where there were quite a few areas that you had to figure out.
They also redid the achievemtns remove one requiring you to play perfectly through over half of the game. Now it's much more reasonable and actually pretty fun.

I really love this game!
The animation is really great, and no wonder, Don Bluth drew all this masterpiece! And the game is so fun to play. Actually, Its don't really feel like a game, it feels more like you just get inside the cartoon and do all the action there.
I like this part more than first cuz all scenes more "connected" to each other.
And I died alot of times there just because i saw some beautiful moment and wanted to take a screenshot. lol

It's a shame that this game not so popular, as it should be.

Trop content d'y rejouer, il était trop difficile sur Amiga, là avec les aides c'est super.
Fonctionne très bien sous W10 si l'on installe KLite codecs comme indiqué dans les discussions du jeu.

Dragons Lair 2: Time Warp plays much like the first game, except this time it is more difficult. This game should only be bought to complement the first Dragon's Lair with after you finished the first game. DL2 is honestly more frustrating thanks to needing to find all of the hidden treasures to access the last level and checkpoints being spaced out by entire levels. It is a harsh experience for those learning how to get through each part without hints on, and the repeated dialogue you hear may drive you insane. It doesn't really improve from it's predecessor in any particular way and is more or less the same way of playing except harder. Despite flashes that do give you a general hint on what you should do, there will still be a good handful of times where you are conflicted between two directions it could be, guess wrong, then have to replay the whole level again. It is in my opinion a little worse overall compared to the first game. Only get this if you must have part two of Dragon's Lair after completing the first game and don't mind an additional challenge.

No life limit, much harder, all fun. One golden treasure is hard to find, but is still possible to collect. I reccomend this game to anyone looking for a sequel to the original Dragon's Lair.

Okay, so I'm a huge fan of the original Dragon's Lair. I played the first game to death on my DSi and Mega CD. Dragon's Lair is a simple yet fun and thrilling game. I understand not everyone is too fond of the trial-and-error gameplay as well as the lack of interaction, but for me thats what defines Dragon's Lair and makes it both charming and compelling as well as the beautiful hand drawn art by Don Bluth, the great sound design and the humour.

I eagerly awaited to play Dragon's Lair 2 for many years, eventually catching it on sale on Steam, snapping it up instantaniously.
For starters the graphics are just as amazing as the first, and the inclusion of collectible objects throughout add a speck of replay value and depth.
But I can't say I enjoy this game unfortunatly. Dragon's Lair 2 is more difficult than the first, you really can't afford to blink or twitch. But the problem isn't the onslaught of commands needed, but the problem stem from the lack of structure unlike the first game. Dragon's Lair 1 had you travelling through room after room, they're relatively short save for a few that last a little bit longer.
But in Dragon's Lair 2 you're not following this structure, you're just moving foward in rather large sections that feel like they last forever and with checkpoints not being as abundant as the ones found in the first game mean that, especially if you're going for the special items, you're gonna have to see the game over screen a lot. I mean, Dragon's Lair 1 will only have you repeat a 10-20 second sequence, whereas this is much more stingy; being forced to repeat a few minutes worth of gameplay.
But honestly, this wouldn't bother me too much but what makes it all a grueling experience is the inclusion of voice acting. The majority of the first game has very little voice acting. But this game has a lot. Due to the amount of deaths you will have to listen and listen to speech that is repeated every time you retry. Its irritating. I can't play the game longer than just a few minutes at a time because of this. It may sound trivial, but when you play it, you WILL know the pain of repeated voice clips. I honestly do believe this pulls the game down, the first game is hard on newcomers but was never annoying. This annoyed me, and as a result upsets me.
Is the game that bad? Not really. Not recommended doesn't necessarily mean the game is bad, but between this and the first, I would 100% ALWAYS recommend the first Dragon's Lair to this. Its much more balanced, its funnier, has a thicker atmosphere and is simply more enjoyable as a whole.

Se, come me, si ha giocato al capitolo precedente deve per forza giocare anche a questo. Don Bluth si riconferma con il secondo (ed ultimo,purtropo. Sigh sigh...) capitolo di Dragon's Lair. Ricalca il capitolo precedente fedelmente però non rinunciando al suo inconfondibile stile in chiave disneyano,che ha reso quest'opera una perla,venuta direttamente a noi dall'era d'oro delle sale giochi.

Avoir un superbe court-métrage de Don Bluth sur son PC ça vaut le coup.
J'ai déjà regardé le "film" plusieurs fois, il est vraiment génial, encore bien meilleur que le premier.
Bon après c'est sûr que 10€ le dessin animé c'est un peu cher, mais quand on y réfléchi, pour une telle oeuvre d'art par un tel maître ça va encore.
En plus y'a une version jeu interactif il paraît ;-)

If you haven't played Dragon's Lair 2, or any of the Don Bluth games in general, imagine a cartoon animation fused with Geometry Dash. Highly difficult, fast reactions, trial and error, and memory. Dragon's Lair 2 is a challenging full motion video game where you must push the arrow keys and space bar at the right moment.

The story continues from the first Dragon's Lair. After the protagonist Dirk the Daring freed Princess Daphnie from the dark magic of the Dragon's Lair, she gets kidnapped by the evil wizard Mordoc, and must use a time machine, which is oddly the nicer brother of Mordoc and talks. He must travel through different time zones and worlds to save Daphnie once again.

In gameplay, your mission is to push a button according to where a yellow flashing light appears. You have less than a second to react. The button depends on which direction it is from Dirk, the player character, or if Dirk's sword is flashing. If so, use the space bar. For experience, I too found the game pretty challenging. One death and you start over a level. Major levels are about a minute long each, the first level has two checkpoints, and the last two are pretty short. I ALWAYS play without a move guide for the most thrilling game experience. Just like what Nostalgia Critic stated in his review of Dragon's Lair, it's cheating! Without the guide, reaction times are quite slim. However, if you replay some levels and get used to the moves, it shouldn't be that stressful, especially if you are forced to replay the whole game if it tells you you missed a special "Treasure", which brings us to the next feature. Each level has at least one treasure item that flashes with the next move. Collect them all to enter the level were you fight Mordoc. There are also two modes called "Original" and "Director's Cut". In Original, you HAVE to collect all treasures to proceed to the Mordoc fight. In Director's Cut, the treasures are not required, but grants an alternate, easier Mordoc fight when they are all collected. One last thing about level gameplay, most of the levels have a chance to be mirrored, making it harder and disorienting if you played the level before.

For presentation, Don Bluth directed and animated the FMV for this game. Bluth was the legendary animator for some of our favorite nostalgic movies like Land Before Time and An American Tail, and he was called down to do a series of games by Digital Leisure, like this one! The level concepts are really clever and creative. Seeing how Dirk travels through different time zones, there are typical eras like the Prehistoric Times fighting flying creatures. There are even crazier-looking levels like the one where Dirk slides "Through the Looking Glass" into Wonderland! This is one of the most innovative video games I have played, and love it. This is why I like replaying this game. I'm not only watching an animation, I'm playing it!

To conclude, the game is okay. The appearance is outstanding and really takes me back to when I saw "All Dogs Go to Heaven" and "Bartok the Magnificent" as a kid, which were other movies he did by the way. But I do think it should be longer, or the price lower, speaking of price, I purchased this on sale and so should you, my opinion. Bluth is also trying to get back to animation and developing a Dragon's Lair movie. I sure hope he does it!

I rate this game 8/10. To summarize: Great animation, innovative gameplay, creative concepts, but a bit too high for price and a bit too short for length.

Unlike the first game, this game is made more frustrating by all the unnecessary hoops set up. You'll be asked repeatedly to retry 3min long button sequences and if you screw up, you have to start all over again from the beginning. This is not fun. Dragon's Lair and Space Ace are the better games to go for. Dragon's Lair 2 leaves you feeling cheated most of the time, which will frustrate you. One example, is when you progress through half or more of the entire game, only to be notified you missed one fo the bonus treasures. So now you have to start ALL THE WAY FROM THE BEGINNING of the game because you missed hidden button presses. That's complete bull**it.

It's fun for the novelty, but if you want a fun experience, avoid this and stick to Dragon's Lair or Space Ace.

Хорошее продолжение первой части Dragon's Lair, вышедшее в далеком 1991 году и рассказывающее нам об очередном спасении принцессы Дафны, уже жены Дирка, от посягательств старого волшебника на ее руку и сердце. В этот раз мы посетим не один замок, а сразу несколько эпох, побывав и в Эдеме, и в Древнем Египте, и в доме у Бетховена.

Практически все осталось таким же, как и в первой части: потрясающая рисованная графика, созданная бывшим аниматором Disney Доном Блутом; геймплей, полностью состоящий из лицезрения мультфильма и множества QTE; Дирк, все также чудом выпутывающийся из самых сложных и опасных ситуаций. Отличия от первой части минимальны: система артефактов, необходимых для доступа к последнему уровню, бОльшее количество QTE на сцену (как мне показалось), ну и уровни больше не идут в случайном порядке.

[i]Я не могу рекомендовать эту игру, ведь у нее те же самые недостатки, что и у первой части - короткая продолжительность и весьма сомнительный (на сегодняшний день) геймплей. Но если вам понравилась первая часть, то вам наверняка приглянется и сиквел. 6/10[/i]

Now this was one game i used to play down my local arcade all the time and i absolutely loved it,coin after coin would go into the machine and i would allways feel like i was playing the best game in all creation.

Then i grew up,i still love this game (thats why i bought it and the original) but find that my love for it has dimminished somewhat.I think its because we have so many good and great games these days that we forget where games first came from and how simplistic they were,but i just dont feel the same playing this now as i did when i was that YOUNG man all them years ago.

Now let me say this the game itself is still the same,and DON BLUTHS animation is still as great as i remember and so is the voice acting and the in game music.Its just not the same experience as i remember and to be honest i have played through twice and dont think i will be doing so again in a hurry,which is a shame as one of the most fondly remembered games of my childhood has not stood the test of time and thats why i cant reccomend it to gamers of today.

I still love the game but find that the magic has worn of and i dont know if i should have played it again as now i know what great games are i cant really settle for just sitting pushing buttons in one direction or the other and hitting A to use my sword at times.
So i would reccomend it but only in the sales (and if it was cheap) and yes i would in a bundle also,but i cant in all good merit really reccomend it at the price it is.

Cette nouvelle aventure de Dirk l'intrépide est incroyable. Longue, variée, originale... La liste de ses qualités prendrait trop de place ici même, il faut simplement y jouer pour comprendre.

L'aventure commence quelques années après le premier, et Dirk est heureux papa d'une bande de mioches qu'il a eu avec la princesse Daphne. Seulement voila, la princesse s'est de nouveau faite capturer et Dirk va devoir (bien malgré lui) retourner la sauver !

"Zeitlose" Grafik, da wirklich gezeichnet. Schaut Euch mal die Bilder an. Wunderbar!
Herrliche witzig, farbenfroh und ideenreich. Steuerung funktioniert ausgezeichnet.
Filmmodus vorhanden!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ansonsten eigentlich nur: "Drücke die richtige Taste zur rechten Zeit". Das aber dafür hammerhart.
Geht also heute eher unter die Rubrik "Gelegenheitsspiel".
Wir schauten damals nur "Bauklötze", und versammelten uns jeweils gruppenartig um den Kasten im Spielsalon :-)

Allemal ein paar Euros wert! Don Bluth "Kunst" vom Feinsten.
Vielleicht bei der nächsten Ermässigung?

Новые приключения Дёрка и Дафни, по всем наборам признаков очень похожи на стандартное коммерческое продолжение. Оно не привносит ни значительных изменений в геймплей, ни каких-либо откровений в историю.
В целом нововведение в игре всего одно - небольшая система артефактов. Теперь для того чтобы увидеть финал игры нужно в процессе прохождения собрать все артефакты, разбросанные по локациям. Это не доставляет особого интереса, поскольку в целом они не имеют никакого смысла. Также, отныне, действия происходят не в одном замке, как это было в первой части, а в разных мирах. По сюжету мы используем машину времени, чтобы догнать злобного волшебника, укравшего Дафни. И вот тут и кроется ещё одна проблема игры. Эти миры заимствованы, и в них происходит, по большей части, полное безумие. Герою приходится проходить через нелепые преграды, а учитывая в разы уменьшенное количество чекпоинтов (теперь они есть только на переходах между мирами), это сильно утомляет и кажется глупым и бессмысленным.
Но при всём при этом игра почти не теряет своего родного колорита. Дёрк всё также еле выкручивается из опасных ситуаций (и всё также подворовывает золото). Также игра радует доброй порцией юмора. Ситуации хоть и глупы, но довольно забавны (чего только стоит сцена в садах Эдема). А уровень с Бетховеном даёт очень мощный заряд энергии, уж очень он хорошо с режиссирован.
Из Dragon's Lair 2 не вышло великого продолжения, но и провальным его не назвать. Если вы заскучали по счастливчику Дёрку, можете смело брать игру, но не ждите от неё каких-либо откровений. 7.0/10
