I rented Dragon Age: Origins back when it came out and played a few hours before I had to return it, and I saw a friend play some Dragon Age: Inquisition back when that one came out, but I never played the series myself, so I recently decided to remedy that.

Having finished DA:O and its DLC's, I figured I'd transition intro DA2 and I have to say that, despite the criticism it gets, I'm having a lot of fun with it. The character models look much better and I'm enjoying that the story is somewhat linked to the first game, at least a the start, and that i allows you to import your save file from the first game to reflect your choices, and I'm also enjoying the cast of characters from this game as well as seeing some of the important NPC's from the first game pop up, especially since this game spans a much longer period of time than the first one.

My only complaint so far is that I'm playing it on Steam Deck and it's always annoying when the company makes you connect to their crappy platform in order to play their game. Other than that, I've noticed that this game feels much more linear than the first one, which makes it feel less like a big RPG, but I can deal with that.

Dragon Age 2 — страннаяигра для меня, если честно. Вроде после Origins ждёшь что-то масштабное, а получаешь игру попроще, но при этом она цепляет.

Сюжет — реально хороший. Не про спасение мира, а про жизнь в одном городе. Киркволл постепенно катится вниз, конфликт магов и храмовников накручивается, и к финалу понимаешь — нормального выбора тут нет. И вот это прям держит. Сквозной семейный сюжет я считаю отдельной звездочкой, мне нравятся такие истории, которые крутятся вокруг семейных историй и простым человеческим - это моя семья, я сделаю все, чтобы их уберечь. Приземленность тоже нужна.
Спетники отдельный кайф, они живые, со своими загонами, можно наконец-то отыгрывать через соперничество, что тоже радует. Правда я может путаю, но кажется Себастьяна на релизе не было, и честно скажу, именно он чет вообще не запомнился.

Но дальше начинается то, за что игру я готов простить, но все же:
Локации повторяются постоянно. Ты буквально бегаешь по одним и тем же пещерам и домам, только двери в разных местах закрыты. Сначала терпимо, потом уже начинаешь ловить себя на мысли "я тут уже был, епрст".
Боевка быстрее, более экшеновая, но с волнами врагов — это вообще цирк. Только зачистил — сверху ещё пачка падает. И так постоянно. Чувствуется, что игру делали на спешке. Но при этом, ♥♥♥♥, она работает за счёт сюжета и персонажей.

Если не ждать от неё второй Origins и просто принять как более камерную историю — можно нормально кайфануть.
В итоге:
Сюжет тащит, геймплей местами бесит, но в целом игра оставляет нормальное впечатление.

This game's development was rushed and you can tell. It can get very repetitive going through the small small areas again and again. The combat system while sporting intense devil may cry animations and blood splatters gets incredibly tedious with very limited build options and variety. And where this game attempts more fast-paced action-combat than its predecessor, it just gets dull so quick slashing through the same group of mindless enemies over and over. And while you may actually need to employ strategy (environmental weakness, hide behind everyone behind a rock, whatnot) for the bosses, they just are so spongey, it gets old.

Regardless, Dragon Age 2 remains of favorite of mine because of the writing--particularly the party members. It's a linear game mostly and it really benefits from being able to actually plan all of its story beats. The game stretches its narrative over 8ish years in the same place (strangely rare for rpgs), over which you really believe in the relationships between all of the party members. There are clear dynamics among the whole cast in battle conversations but also in the actual plot of the game. What I really love that's unique to this game however is how characters behave according to the protagonist (Hawke)'s political alignment in the game. This is mostly in the romance system. To romance a character you either level rivalry or friendship points which result in completely different routes and dynamics with the characters. Yes, you get to choose between friends to lovers or enemies to lovers--it's so cool and I don't know any other mainstream rpgs that do this. What follows are relationships with your protagonist that are custom to you but also incredibly developed and fully written (not "player-sexuality")

Secretly, my fav DA game. When I first started it the flaws where apparent and the short development time really showed up. But it makes up for the lack of intresting/non repetitive dungeons, by having a really intresting story, and companions. Different from DAO it has a set PC that can only have their appearance sligthly altered. For the story line I would say this was a good move. You get to know Hawke and the tradgedies behind their choices, an ordinary person wanting to make a life for themselves, not necessarily chasing fame and power but being given no choice (at least in my mind) and the consequences of too much hubris after gaining that fame/power. Again the companions are really strong, tho their companion quests vary in quality? I think the lack of unique dungeons has a part to play in this. If This game had a longer development time I feel like it would've been the best DA out of the series. 8/10 I really hope someone decides to remake/remaster it to it's full potential one day. Until then 1. keep an open mind if you want to play it, 2. it makes so much more sense if you have played DAO and 3. buy on sale if you can.

I have played this game numerous times when I was much younger, and now that I'm coming back to it... It's just as enthralling as it was. There may be a lot of similar, if not same areas in the game, but it still is as good as it was. I love it with every fiber of my being, even still. I recommend it.

A pesar de que me gusta la saga Dragon Age,siento que el 2 es el mas flojo de la trilogia.Empiezas bien,el juego te muestra lo que te puede ofrecer y mas,pero parece que a mitad de su desarrollo se apresuraron en acabar.El juego son 5 mapas que se repiten durante toda la historia(barrio,ciudad,tuneles,campo) luego de las primeras 3 horas te resultara repetitivo ir por los mismos mapas todo el tiempo.En cuanto al combate siento que no mejoro en nada a su predecesor.La historia comienza bien,pero a mitad de esta cae por completo y te das cuenta que se apresuraron en terminarla.Una lastima tal vez con una buena oferta te pueda resultar rentable,pero si puedes te recomiento el origins(1) o inquisition(3).Una valoracion de 4/10

日本語化MODが出ていた事もあり、PS3以来のプレイ。
修正MODも入れていたのでバグに関してはあまり気になりませんでしたが、地形にハマったりソフトが落ちたり等はあったのでこまめにセーブは必要かも。

日本語MODについて
・最後まで問題なく読み進められた
（不具合としては他のレビューで指摘されている通りDLCが機械翻訳気味、一人称が不安定だったり枠をはみ出る等、自分の場合は黒のよろず屋が翻訳されなかった）
・手紙やスキルが読めないなどあるが、英語wikiに全部載ってるのでそちらをブラウザ翻訳で読みながら進めると便利

よかったところ
・仲間の掛け合いがとても豊富（仲間同士はもちろん兄弟の状況、ホークの性格等によっても違う台詞がありダイアログが膨大）
・引継ぎ要素が細かく反映されていて前作からやると嬉しい
・戦闘がスピーディで楽しい。仲間タンクは１人だけだが両手剣前衛でも結構何とかなる（カジュアルでやりましたがナイトメアの評価も高かったようです）
・犬（DLC）かわいい
・サブクエや仲間クエスト等のボリュームがあり内容もリンクしてたりと面白い
・友好度敵対度が100までいくとロックされる（上げきれば他の仲間に注力できる）

よくもわるくもなところ
・DAOより綺麗になったグラフィック、その割にモデリングが…という人もちらほら
・仲間は好き嫌い分かれそうなキャラもいる

わるかったところ
・ダンジョンの使い回しマップが多い
・メインストーリーが難点多め
（前作は明確にドラゴンを倒すが目的だったけど今作は人同士でずっと争っててギスりがち。最後もこれからってところで終わる感）
・バグ多い（MOD使えば改善するかも）

DAOからの引継ぎが楽しいゲームでもあるので２からはお勧めしづらいのも難点。
本編はストーリー重めですがDLCだと比較的明るく仲間の会話も多い。
粗はあるけど世界観やキャラが魅力的で自分が歴史を作っていけるという、ハマると楽しいゲームです。

Dragon Age II is all about making the best out of a difficult situation. Given the circumstances around the game's development process, it feels almost like a miracle that BioWare managed to create a decent product.

There are plenty of reused assets and tilesets, which, to be fair, is not an entirely new topic for people who played some previous BioWare titles. But in the case of Dragon Age II, it feels a bit excessive at times. This also results in a reduced variety of enemies.

But what saves this game are BioWare's usual strengths: storytelling and character development.

The story isn't excessively long; it is intense, and it feels like the decisions you make really affect the outcome. Sometimes in unexpected ways.

The characters created by BioWare always feel believable, and the companions especially feel like real comrades in arms. Each one with their own views, motivations, and peculiarities. DA2 companions feel on par with their counterparts from the previous game.

Another important part of the gaming experience for me personally is the music and the voice acting.

The music is definitely on the same level as Dragon Age: Origins, creating the perfect mood for an epic adventure. The main theme is reminiscent of the main theme from the previous game, using the same motif and resulting in a feeling of continuity.

The voice acting is great. Every character's personality shines through the acting. My personal favorites have to be Varric, Merrill, and Isabela.

A pleasant surprise for the players who enjoyed Dragon Age: Origins is the return of some of the characters. Mostly as NPCs, but one of them even as a playable character.

All in all, Dragon Age II, despite all the difficulties, is a great RPG worthy of BioWare's name. 100% recommended for the fans of Dragon Age or BioWare games.

Я мало играл в игры подобного жанра, в целом мне больше нравятся шутеры с сюжетом по типу серии игр метро, но как только я запустил это на мой взгляд великолепие на своем стареньком ноутбуке в общаге, сюжет завлек меня больше чем, что либо. Я играл на обеде, ночью пока все спали, вместо занятий и в дни когда мне стоило бы писать курсач. В игре достаточно хороший сюжет и взаимодействие с напарниками для одобрения которых нужно изучать их и вникать в то, что они говорят дабы не выбрать фразу от которой они решат обидеться на тебя, особенно удивило их взаимодействие друг между другом в отряде пока они следуют за хоуком на новое задание. Все эти реплики и эмоции лишь еще сильнее погружают в сюжет и помогают проникнуться почти живыми персонажами.
Одельноможно очень долго говорить о боевке и о том, как можно использовать напарников подстраивая их действия в бою под разные ситуации, может в играх подобного жанра это конечно не редкость, но мне это очень и очень зашло даже с учетом того, что до конца разобраться в этом я не смог. Короче очень рекомендую даже с учетом того, что фанаты серии не любят эту часть драги.

首先这个PC版不支持手柄什么意思，手柄适配居然是主机板限定，逆天，键鼠操作看一眼直接不想玩了。不支持手柄的arpg游戏滚出我的库存好吗好的。

I wish they would remaster this game to what they planned for it to be originally, instead of the rushed job they forced on the developers. That aside, this game is one of my all-time top 5 favourites and I periodically come back to play it. I can't recommend buying it anymore because EA doesn't deserve to be funded for what they did to this franchise.

Pretty good sequel to the first one, I enjoy the combat a lot more in this one, to Origins and Inquisition, and the movement feels a bit smoother than inquisition, I enjoyed it, but i felt it lacked a lot of what dragonage origins had, but I think they just wanted to focus on the mistreatment and fighting between the mages and templars, vs just a game focusing solely on the blight again. Really good game tho!

Dragon Age 2 is a good game, that infamously had very little development time.

Combat is very good, characters abilities are very satisfying and diverse, although you need to play at least on hard to engage with the game's systems.

I thought writing and voice acting were top notch. Story is also very good. Props to writers for writing decent drama into the game.

There supposed to be questing end exploration part, but clearly, there wasn't enough time for that, so questing is mainly running around the city and checking in with different characters and exploration is just running through the gauntlet with the endless thrash mobs.

Overall there are too many fights especially if you playing on higher difficulties. But for me it didn't detract much from my enjoyment of the game. Enjoyed it as much as Origins.

1. Запустить Dragon Age: Origins
2. Запустить параллельно Dragon Age 2
3. Подключить/войти в аккаунт ЕА
4. Бух! И всё работает

Насколько нужно быть уродом, чтобы не сделать норм активацию дополнений за которые ты заплатил?! А как в будущем будет, если уже сейчас такой геморрой, ЕАшки? Вот по этой одной из причин пиратсво и выбирают, зачем человеку тратить время на решение проблемы со стороны издателя, если есть пиратка? Да, моё очко и голова просто полыхали от такой наглости! Браво!

[h2] Теперь про саму игру: [/h2]

Опять же из-за сроков от ЕА игру делали спеша за, кажется, полтора года. Масштабную партийную рпг за полтора года... Смешно и только...

В сюжетном плане игра мне в целом понравилась. Не толкинство, как в первой части, а что-то уже значительно своё. И мне понравился данный нарратив и дух 2 части. В рамках полтора года они сделали интересную сюжетную игру с выборами и душевными взаимоотношениями со спутниками. Хотя в игре фактически одна концовка, но всё равно хорошо.

В геймплейном плане уже смешано... Боевка динамичная и резкая, после долгой и неоднозначной боевки из 1 части, мне данные решения понравились всецело! Воин, разбойник, маг - все крутые! Только вот система снаряжений выглядит странновато и теряешься в ней. Играть 30 часов придется в одних и тех же местах, где даже мини-карту не поменяли, болванчики одни и те же.

Музыка и визуал игры - отличные, под стать новой части и её динамики.

Решения из 1 части как-то тухло переносятся, но опять же - полтора года разработки.

За такой промежуток времени игра получилась отличной, но если не учитывать это... То понятно почему игру встретили прохладно тогда, но в 2026 году игра смотрится лучше многих ААА игр, всё же Биовары хоть как-то пытались делать игры с душой, даже если их душили ЕА.

Игре даю 8/10 и меньше не хочу давать, может в 2011 и дал бы 6/10, но спустя годы игра воспринимается иначе. Данная игра мне понравилась динамичной боевкой, драматичной историей "из грязи в князи" с трагедиями и пожалуй самыми яркими спутниками в ДА.

Я не рекомендую покупать данную часть из-за проблемы с активацией ДОПОЛНЕНИЙ, так как не факт что мой или чей-то еще способ решения проблем поможет вам их активировать... Тут идите в бухты за "свободной" лицензией и не давайте денег ЕА.

Tylko dla fanów uniwersum. Gra jest plamą na honorze bioware (dawnym honorze, bo dziś już go nie mają). Zacznę od zalet: fajne postacie (nie wszystkie), gra dalej trzyma mroczny klimat, i dużo nostalgii, powraca trochę wątków i postaci z poprzedniej części i daje dużo fabularnie do DA: Inkwizycji. Z wad: wszystko inne, główna fabuła jest średnia, muzyka "zapożyczona" od DA: Origins, tak samo jak dźwięki interfejsu, potwory, itp, lokacje zrobione na kolanie, kopiuj wklej, zrób tunel gdzie będą potwory i tak powtórz 100 razy, grafika jeszcze gorsza niż w DA:O, gra nie jest jakaś specjalnie długa, ale lokacji miliard jeszcze pora dnia i nocy, więcej teleportowania się niż w Skyrimie. Zrobiłem wiele questów ale później nie mogłem się przeboleć i włączyłem konsolę i rushowałem fabułę i zadania sojuszników. Jak pisałem wcześniej: tylko dla fanów co chcą cały lore DA poznać, dla kogoś obcego: tylko po ukończeniu DA:O jeśli masz odporność na gównogierkową jakość i jakoś to przebolejesz do kolejnej części.

É um game bem sólido no que se propoe, principalmente levando em consideração por tudo que aconteceu no desenvolvimento dele.
Mas é bem esquecivel sinceramente, o combate arcade é a pior coisa de longe desse jogo, inimigo surgindo do chão feito rato, e os cenários se repetindo pra qualquer coisa, é meio complicado elogiar, sinceramente.
tirando tudo isso, eu diria que ele serve bem o papel dele como prequel pro inquisition.

As much as i LOVE dragon age origins i cant say the same about this game the combat is garbage the enemies have ALOT OF HP when im barely at the start of the game and i dont get anything to help me be more strong it feels like im a ant lowk.... and the companions dont do much by themselfs in dao they would use their abilites here i gotta babysit them all ill skip this and jump into inquisition hope its better than this like i love rpgs but i just cant play this. Also why is the dialogue bar on the TOP of the screen not in the middle i dont recomend this game its best you play dragon age origins its 100 times better than this.

Combat is way easier compared to Origins. You don’t need to micro-control every move you and your companions make like you do in Origins. You can definitely notice the same environments being reused a lot, but it doesn’t really stop the game from being fun. The companions are better than in Origins, imo. It’s also pretty impressive that they managed to make this game in such a short time, even if that big-ass level progress bar sitting on the screen is impossible to ignore.

Please don't buy this game if you don't intend to spend literal hours skimming through every available bug-fix mod there is just to be able to finish one single damn questline. I gave up. Of my 16 hours of "playtime" I spent 10 exclusively trying to get bugfixes from anywhere and restarting the game a few times just to be able to progress and during the rest of the time I haven't been able to complete a single quest without at least one crash to desktop or getting stuck in a freeze with a beautiful little "loading..." in the bottom right corner of the game.
I bought this game, because I was thinking about starting the whole Dragon Age story over once more before I get into the newest title, since it has been some time since I played it but this is just not worth the effort.
Where you at least in Dragon Age Origins have a good story and nice roleplay interactions (even with boring combat and an overloaded skill bar) in this game you don't even have that. The mainstory (well at least as far as I were able to play it at least - I have just started the second chapter - until the freeze of death and crashes made the game completely unplayable) is okay and the involved characters have decent voice actors. It's not breathtaking but it's not bad either.
The sidequests are a mixed topic, some are quite engaging and tell an interesting story, where others are just plain old "hey you! Me stupid. U help?! - answer yes -> get to a place you already visited 11 times to kill the same 30 enemies with different names and sometimes even in a different order | answer no -> "OK! But u help, u come back yes? -> go back to start"
The companion quests.... well this is difficult to say, I kinda enjoyed what I have been able to see but since I'm locked out of two by now since I can't continue without a crash or the loading of doom, there's nothing I can say about these.
The combat is okayish... turning up the difficulty just makes enemies deal more damage and have more HP but that's not so bad, many games do this. But you either go into hold-position mode and pause the game every 2 seconds and switch the controlled character to get a hold of the battlefield or you let the AI run rampage and they either die or they don't, they mostly die however every time they get themselves stuck in a crate or a door and there is not much you can do about it, except controlling them yourself at that point.
The level design however... oh boy boring doesn't even describes it. Maybe that changes during a later part of the game which I can't explore however but damn. You basically have the base locations doubled in day and night (same maps, different amount of npc) and these base locations consist of like 4? maps that are so small, you can completely map them trying to get into every nook in less than five minutes. Other than that, you have some special locations you won't see or visit except for talking to some quest npc and getting back into the same city map you came from or travel into the wilderness, and this is where things get really funny. So the wilderness has like two maps. One time a pathway that was barred before is open, anther time, it's not. And beware yourself if you get into dungeons/mines/caves for sidequests, you will end up in a cave with layout A or B and with a random number of doors / pathways open or closed. End of story. It will always be cave A or cave B. If you're lucky, you'll find yourself not in cave A or B but rather in warehouse-dungeon (which has neither A or B but still the same rules about random doors / pathways being open or not applies). Yes, this is a slight exaggeration, there are some specially designed places for some quests (mainly for mainstory quests though) but still. After some time everything started to blurr into the same slush and I didn't even bother anymore to check the room I checked 6 times already for treasure again, hoping to find another chest with some belt or glove that's not even worth some decent coin at the vendor, not to mention useless (yes, getting like +172 ice resistance is super cool... if there would be at least one enemy able to cast frost spells).

TL;DR: If you want to experience the story of this game, do yourself a favor and get over to Youtube watching any let's play where all the crashes and freezes are already edited out instead of investing money into a game where you'll spend more time trying to fix it rather than playing it.

Trza instalować EA app za co od razu łapka w dół. Gorsze pod prawie każdym względem od jedynki. System walki jest ciekawy na najwyższym poziomie trudności i to jedyny powód dla którego tyle godzin mam nabitych w grze. Jest trochę płynniejsze od jedynki i towarzysze są spoko, ale to tyle z plusów. Lepiej zrobić replay Origins i zaoszczędzić kasę.

Okay so, this is somewhat an interesting case of falling flat in the face of its predecessor in terms of its mechanics, choices and consequences. BUT! With its more intimate storytelling, interesting characters and its overall impact of the lore and setting of the DA wider universe, it's more than worth your time if you take it at its own pace... and maybe pretend the first Dragon Age isn't as good as it is; fans of the series can find plenty to enjoy here... or you could play Veilguard... your choice.

Synopsis

Our main hero is a survivor of first civilian town to get trounced by the army of doom from Dragon Age: Origins. The game's tutorial is fleeing Fereldan during the monster army invasion. Unfortunately Hawke and their family flee some place far more vile than the Archdemon's stomach - Kirkwall. I'd describe Kirkwall but I'd just be reciting lyrics from the song Light Up The Night by Protomen. The story is divides into acts for each few years you spend in Kirkwall; Which I shall now sum up with what I was thinking during each 90% of the time.

Act 1 "Gotta save, gotta save, gotta save, gotta save - CHECK THE COUCH FOR CHANGE!"

Act2 "Can we PLEASE stop provoking the minority group muttering 'race war' under their breaths every time you p*ss them off!"

Act 3 "Are we pretending this is a "both sides" issue? Cause one is being oppressed, and the other is gaslighting the first... Maker, I'm trapped in a social media drama!"

Epilogue: "I can't believe Jowan is no longer the biggest screw-up I've met in this world."

Cons:

Let's get this out of the way first, the game is NOT Dragon Age: Origins rather it's more of an exploration of the world you found yourself in in DAO. This isn't Lord Of The Rings, it's Life In Minas Tirith - noticing that the Stewart seems a little off, and some orcs are starting to show up outside - you aren't going on epic endeavors, you're reacting to them. The story is on rails, well hidden rails - most of the time, but rails none-the less, the combat is still sticky an unwieldy, and DA2 has much MUCH less moves to fine-tune the sort of fighter/rogue/mage you are. You have one city and a bit of a mountain to explore, there is no larger world - though part of that goes into Pros*.

Pros:

While many dislike the story, I actually like it. The characters all come off as those Collage students you're stuck sharing a dorm with - some of them may rub you the wrong way, but they'll all still have your back once you get to know them. Though you have less of a world to explore I found being confined to one city made my investment in said City come alive more. But without a doubt the best thing this game gives us is a hated villain, no, not the fundamentalist final boss, not the racist nun, nor the snooty noble super-boss or not even the great evil sleeping just outside the city - no, the true villain is Kirkwall - a city fouler than Flemeth's undies during her monthlies, a city that sucks more than Zevran at a brothel. The city is both a place you want to save and want to smack upside the head for being as screwed up as it is. The social issues in your home town are like the difficulty curve of Dark Souls - you want to overcome it just so you can whack it across the nose from now on whenever it misbehaves. Kirkwall outdoes both Saints Row and City of Villains for giving you a dystopia to try to unscrew up.

Standard EA F Up:

F**k the EA server and it's long connect times and mid-load crashes - that should go without saying, but still. The achievements your character did in Origins don't always load right - hope Nathan was in your party at the end of Awakening because otherwise the game seems to think he died - complete with swapping out an act 2 mission based on his death/survival. There is an ability exploit that let's you get moves without spending the ability points (basically get a move in preview without confirming it, move it to another slot on your tray and exit the preview and the move is still there - no ability points having been spent), not a complaint, just a F*** up. And there is a LOT of map re-use - quite infamously the development time was slashed until the team had to just piece together what they had and you can see it.

Conclusion: If Dragon Age: Origins was an epic quest across Middle-Earth with your Fellowship of heroes, Dragon Age II is a car-ride from The Shire to Minas Tirith with your rowdy Collage buddies - less epic, but more personable. It's up to you if that is a good thing or a bad thing; For me I still enjoyed it even if I must admit the previous game was more fun.

Recommended - but do keep in mind I am a weirdo.

Як завжди неперевершена робота від Bioware - карколомний сюжет, неймовірні персонажі, та гори епіку. Ідеальне продовження серії, яке зв'язує події першої частини та наступної. Ігролад на мою думку став трохи краще за першу частину. Вона також в рази менша за першу частину, загалом події обмежені містом та околицями. Але все ще присутні важкі вибори і неочікуванні повороти. З мінусів можна виділити хіба не дуже цікаві побічні квести - зроблені виключно для прокачки. Головна сюжетна лінія захоплююча, квести компаньонів цікві. Приємно, що можна переносити збереження з Origins, хоча особисто не помітив багато моментів, де це би впливало.

Tak, brakuje tutaj szlifów, bo gra powstawała "na szybko", co widać przede wszystkim w ograniczonej liczbie lokacji oraz powtarzalności walki, ale motyw skoków w czasie i samo Kirkwall robią wrażenie. Bardzo fajna zgraja towarzyszy i wciągająca fabuła. Zręczny pomost między klasyką, a nowszym podejściem do gatunku.

I don't know where to start. It sucks. I think its a good start to start from. It's rushed and I don't blame Bioware for this. Doesn't change that this game is extremely ugly despite having graphical improvements.

Gameplay consists of fast-paced ARPG shenanigans while having the core as Tactical RPG. Why? Nobody knows. Game is too fast to be played as TRPG and too restrictive to be played as ARPG. Oh, and lack of controller support makes it even worse. It doesn't even help that your gameplay is neutered even more. Remember how in DA:Origins you could zoom out to the point of D&D camera angle? Gone! So casting spells and some AOE skills become a chore which used to be easier when paused in DA:Origins. Minimap is almost useless. You can't access world map properly. Lack of armour sets for companions. Every gear restricted to Hawke, even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ swords. The only positive thing about gameplay in DA2 is that they actually streamlined classes because earlier all classes except for mages were almost the same, and now that's not the case. A good thing. Removal of bonuses like backstab damage to a skill is despicable and bad. Did I tell how the animations look janky because it uses the one from DA:O which were meant to be for a slower game? UI looks ugly like some toddler clipped some fonts and stuff. Dialogues got hit by "Pick something, speak something else" disorder that only Mass Effect had and not only that, dialogue wheel is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ addition, especially the way Bioware designed it. You can't access stuff for all characters even if you're in resting place which wasn't the case for Warden in DA:O. Skill tree is streamlined, so yeah ig. Did i mention how every subarea is "Go to same area for a billionth time?"

Voice acting is there for main character which is a plus imo. Story is actually nice. It's always nice to see when games have their politics done really well. I love them for it. Characters were also pretty great albeit choices were neutered and all the evil choices were cartoonishly evil. Yeah, that's it I think. I can't even think of positive for this game because it's that bad. I'm glad I'm finally done with it and I'll probably never touch it again unlike DA:Origins which I will probably revisit every year or so

Seguindo a história do precursor da trilogia, com jogabilidade aperfeiçoada e gráficos melhorados, só tenho elogios para este jogo. A história é muito boa, a dinâmica interessante, dificuldade na medida. Acredito que tirando o fato de que se abre o aplicativo da EA Games todas as vezes que se entra no jogo, não tenho elencado pontos negativos. В игре отвратительное управление. Оно настолько ужасное, что у меня через час игры уже руки дергались от злости и раздражения. Игра пилилась под консоли того поколения 100%. Ощущается, как старый порт с консолей куда для галочки прикрутили клаву и и мышку рассчитывая, что любой адекватный человек и так с геймпада играть будет как тот же DMC. От того первый Ведьмак над управлением которого все смеются на деле в миллиарды раз удобней тк делали его напрямую под клавамышь. Оке, понимаю... Эпоха такая была - массыч, второй ведьмак, ассасины, все беливили в консолепобеду и рынок ориентировался в первую очередь на ps3 и бокс, но добавьте тогда в игру нативную поддержку геймпада, вы ведь уже ее разработали и играть на геймпаде было очень комфортно. Но нет, нативки тут нет, а еще никаких нормальных модов нигде не найти. Есть стимовский режим поддержки big picture, но работает он отвратительно тк просто назначает клавиши на кнопки и в игре буквально интерфейс не подходит для подобной игры. На консолях HUD ориентирован на переключение окон способной через зажим бамперов и тд, по другому уместить десятки заклинаний на геймпаде никак и в целом ощущается такое управление очень картофельно. Самое смешное то, что в этой игре консолесодержащей идентичной натуральному просто не работают некоторые фишки вроде тактической паузы которая по идее должна давать возможность поставить битву на паузу, оценить ситуацию и удобно раскидать свой мощнейший мувмент. Интерфейс для удобства меняетсядавая доступ ко всем абилкам и всю нужную информацию, камера меняет положение и тд. Но в этой игре ты просто ставишь время на паузу и выглядит это как издевка тк только так можно удобно нацелиться на другого противника. Это буквально единственная фишка тактической паузы. Постоянно ставить игру на паузу что бы у тебя получилось навестись курсором на модельку врага правда воспринимается как злая шутка. Очень грустно тк вторая Драгонага моя любимая часть и игра моего детства и я уже много лет хотел еще раз погрузится в эту потрясающую вселенную, но когда банальное обыскивание карманов мертвого врага вызывает нервный тик.... Короче либо пилите нативку геймпадов, либо снимайте крестик. На всех форумах начитался советов в духе "Перетерпите, подождите, привыкните, станет не так больно и вообще наверху там умные люди сидят не надо лодку раскачивать, просто подождите и привыкните", но сама игра часов на 25, видимо первые 10-15 надо потерпеть.

Рекомендовать могу только из-за эпического финала и сюжетной части серии как заполнение пробелов.

В остальном же... по сравнению с первой частью - меньше фэнтези, больше борьбы за место под солнцем в городе Киркволл. От задания к заданию приходилось бегать и избивать: неугодных магов, граждан, преступников, работорговцев, храмовников, отступников и кунари. Приходится в игре сражаться не против Мора, а против людей в определённых кастах. Весь путь - это становления персонажа "из грязи - в князи", но на крови и жёстком выборе.

Союзники же - это не просто спутники на всё готовое, это так же персонажи со своей проблемой, которая выливается в конце игры и только от ваших взглядов зависит, кто вы в городе и за кого.

[h2]Финал[/h2] Это прям вишенка на торте, не зря половины нудных часов беготни и решения проблем связанных с историей, были выполнены.

[h1]Dragon Age II: Ultimate Edition — десять годин в одному підвалі[/h1]
Скажу одразу: позитивну оцінку поставив виключно через почуття ностальгії та повагу до сценаристів (персонажі та сюжет мені сподобалися). Усе інше — це суцільний жах, який зараз виглядає ще гірше, ніж на релізі.

Порівняно з першою частиною геймплей став легшим, простішим та менш перевантаженим. Додали динаміки, тепер бійка з кількома ворогами проходить дуже швидко. Але щоб не дати гравцю пройти гру за три години, мобів спамить просто ордами. Найсмішніше, що я не бачу різниці між квестами, де пробиваєшся крізь вороже місто, та звичайною прогулянкою нічними вуличками. За кожним кутом ховається двадцять розбійників, до яких ще два десятки стрибають із дахів на допомогу. Кіркволл (головне місто), мабуть, «найбезпечніше» місце у світі.

Сюжет тим часом доволі цікавий і дає можливість відпочити від ролі рятувальника всього світу. Головний герой тепер майже ніхто й робить собі ім’я з нуля, а весь екшн зосереджений навколо одного міста та його жителів. Імпорт збережень із першої частини привносить багато маленьких, але приємних деталей: записи, камео, спогади героїв. Супутники вийшли непоганими. Ніщо, звісно, не замінить мені постійні сварки Морріган та Алістера, але нові друзі теж молодці. Кожен персонаж краще розкривається через особисті квести та розмови. Найбільше мені сподобалася Авелін, яка перетворюється з випадкової знайомої на найкращого друга, що балансує хаотичну особистість Гоука (Хоук? Hawke? Це прізвище головного героя. Тепер ми не дефолтний персонаж будь-якої раси, а вже сформована особистість). Фінал також сподобався: нарешті гра, де неможливо просто «виїхати» на харизмі та змусити всіх стати друзями. Добро і зло треба буде обрати особисто та вирішити долю інших, базуючись саме на своїх переконаннях.

А тепер найголовніше. МІНУСИ. Або просто мінус. Гру робили трохи більше року. Тому в нас менше десяти локацій, більшість із яких жахливі. Усе. Одне й те саме підземелля я пройшов, мабуть, сотню разів. Один і той самий будинок бачив з усіх боків. А яка кепська зона за містом... Більше двадцяти годин я бігав туди-сюди одними й тими самими локаціями, раз за разом, квест за квестом. Під кінець уже хотілося ригати від кількості повторюваних елементів. Фу.

Якщо колись уже грали й хочете згадати, як воно було — гра підійде. Усім іншим краще в Mass Effect зіграти чи що. Бо інакше цей технічно сирий та порожній продукт годиться тільки заради історії. Мене до кінця дотягнув тільки сюжет із персонажами, хоча гру хотілося дропнути вже неодноразово.

Dragon Age 2 is a strange little title in that, if I had to put a number on it I would call it a 6 out of 10, but it's my favourite kind of 6/10 game, and in many ways I much prefer playing these kinds of games than those "easy-to-recommend" games with fewer visible seams. It shoots for the moon and doesn’t quite hit, but God does it take its biggest swings with some seriously limited resources

Dragon Age 2's strength is in its story and characters, and in some places its visual art. I enjoyed DA:O's writing a lot in its individual elements, such as in the characters and individual questlines, but holistically it kind of wound up going places I found just a little dull, and the parts that I found most interesting, the bizarre, worldly and entirely irreconcilable politics of Fereldan and Thedas at large, ultimately wind up being sort of overshadowed by the Darkspawn plague which threatens the world. Uniting the realms is fun and all, but it feels very "tidy" in a way that I felt didn't really suit the dark tone of the game (I realise this is very subjective, your mileage may vary on my opinion here). This is not true for Dragon Age 2. Despite the brighter color palette, DA2 is MIRED in its mess, and there's nothing tidy about where it ends up. It revels in the irreconcilable in a way that I found deeply compelling. Unless you are paying very close attention, and probably using a guide, you are all but guaranteed to make choices that result in mistakes, errors, and deaths, and I mean Deeply Personal deaths here. Deaths of folks you've come to care about, dying pointlessly for reasons that feel awful to see play out. The game has such strong emotional highs and lows for its main character. At times the supporting characters, even companions, will do things behind your back, they'll lie, they'll leave very suddenly, and they may not come back. You are not always in control, your opinion on how they should behave doesn’t always matter, and while that limits your agency, it improves characterisation tenfold.

Things escalate in ways that are not world ending by any measure in the way DA:O's stakes are, but which feel way more personal for just how much Hawke, your main character, can lose on their way through Kirkwall. I felt this game's big emotional moments in my heart in a way I never really did with DA:O, for as much as I loved that game. The character romances are also way more enjoyable in this game. I found DA:O's romance pretty whelming, all things considered. I felt much more interested in the characters when we were discussing their backstories, relationships to the world around them, and their potential futures, rather than in those moments when they were trying to bone me. Dragon Age 2's romances feel much more involved in their writing and set-pieces, there are a lot more ups and downs, and through the friendship/rivalry system you can have a much more complicated relationship with them. DA2's romances also involve much more bisexuality this time around, which, as a bisexual woman, was appreciated. Thanks for letting me bang Isabela, Bioware! I realise bisexuality is pretty commonplace for RPGs nowadays, but for the year this was made, and coming to this from DA:O where your romance options as a woman are truly limited to those three characters who I really wasn’t super invested in from a romantic standpoint, I felt way more comfortable and interested in the romantics of this game than its predecessor. My only complaint is that I can't romance Varric. Let me top the hairy, suave dwarf please. Bioware can you please update this game 15 years later to romance Varric? Please.

DA2's weakness, and it's a big one, is its gameplay loop. It's boring as hell. There are no other words, it's dull and when it's not dull, it's frustrating. I've played games with reused assets and enjoyed them, and I am not averse to walking back and forth through the same environments over and over (I've played through Pathologic 3 times, I have a high tolerance for boredom), but in this it's truly just boring with very little to make this boredom feel warranted. There's nothing to manage in these long walks between interesting story moments, nothing fun in learning boss weaknesses, and every fight goes on for approx 20% longer than it should. The combat movement is faster, slicker, and in some ways more involved, it SHOULD be more fun than its predecessor, but the sheer quantity of it, combined with the frustration of some of its more tedious encounters, makes actually playing this game an exercise in endurance in a way that DA:O never was. I recommend playing DA2 on easy if you choose to play it. This is boring, but it’s better than being both boring and frustrating. The gameplay loop here is just so uninteresting that it doesn’t warrant engaging with any of its challenge, even on normal, which isn’t hard at all but has occasional moments of turbulence that I suggest just skipping altogether by turning the difficulty down. The seams here are so visible, and so crooked, that it makes it kind of hard not to recommend just watching a playthrough for the most interesting bits and skipping playing the game altogether.

But, at the end of the day, I am still recommending this game. I’ll admit DA:O is the superior title, by far, if you’re going to choose between the two, choose that one, but the story here is just that good in ways I've seen very few fantasy games be, and the journey feels like it meant something to me, even if, in its moment-to-moment elements, I felt bored and frustrated. Its plotting and character drama focuses in on what I truly loved about DA:O and exorcises those bits I found fairly generic, and for all of the repetitiveness that comes with running back and forth through Kirkwall, it really does start to feel like home, and a real, living place, sometimes in spite of, and sometimes BECAUSE of this repetition. I felt situated here, I love it. It's a squalid, cruel mess, but there are good people in it, and it's worth fighting for, even if, ultimately, no one in the game can agree on what Kirkwall actually IS either in its past, its present, and in its destiny. In some ways, the fact that the gameplay is a dull mess kind of serves its story in a weird way. It’s a slog, a mire, but not without glimpses of beauty and worth, and so is Kirkwall. Will you save those glimpses of goodness? Do you have what it takes to be a champion of this ailing city that distracts and frustrates? Will you love it, despite the ways it fails? What does saving and loving it even look like? I’m dwelling in pretentious territory now, but that’s why I call it a great 6/10 game. It reaches for greatness and its reach is too long for its grasp, but missing and landing amongst the stars is much more admirable than succeeding at being mediocre, which is a sad problem for a lot of “pedigree” games these days. Three cheers for Dragon Age 2! You glorious little mess!

피난민으로 시작해 동네의 챔피언이 되기까지, 가족과 동료를 지키기 위해 고군분투하는 이야기입니다.

바이오웨어사의 게임은 동료 시스템을 빼놓을 수 없지요.
<매스 이펙트>에서도 다양한 동료와 전투 경험을 쌓고 우정을 쌓고 애정을 쌓고 콘돔도 쌓...진 않았지만,
아무튼 이 게임에서도 동료 시스템은 빛을 발해서
덥수룩한 수염끼리의 뜨거운 입맞춤도 거리낌 없어 플레이어의 손에 땀을 쥐게 만들어 줍니다.🫠
단순히 우정을 쌓는 동료만 존재하는 게 아니라 대립 관계를 쌓는 동료도 있기 때문에,
마법사와 템플러 사이의 갈등 속 이야기 선택지 외에도 동료 간의 선택지까지 신경 쓰다 보면 멘탈 강화 효과는 덤이죠.

전작보다 훨씬 빠른 전투 시스템이 되어서 단점도 있겠지만 싸우는 맛은 더 좋아졌습니다.
하지만 동네가 너무 계획도시처럼 도긴개긴인 것은 돌아다닐 때마다 흐린 눈을 강요하게 되네요.🫣

그래도 단점보다 장점이 훨씬 많아서,
이야기에 빠져 동료들 험담을 하며 열심히 싸우고 다닐 수 있었던 시리즈의 2편이었습니다.👍

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Electronic Arts (EA) customer support.

My account was compromised, despite the fact that the email address associated with it had remained unchanged since the account was originally created. At no point was it flagged as suspicious when the email address was suddenly changed and two-factor authentication was added. This should have triggered security concerns.

When I contacted EA to recover my account and explained that the email address had been improperly changed, I complied fully with the verification process. I provided my IP information and answered all requested security questions. After waiting two days for a resolution, I was informed that my account had simply been closed, with no recovery option provided.

As a result, all of my EA games now prompt me to verify access using the compromised email address or the two-factor authentication set up by the individual who stole my account. This has effectively locked me out of all purchased content. At this time, none of my EA games are playable.

I have invested hundreds of dollars in EA titles, in addition to the significant amount of time spent playing them. The loss of access to my account and purchases, combined with the lack of meaningful support, has been incredibly frustrating.

Unless this issue is resolved, I will no longer purchase or support EA products moving forward.

Disregard my playing hours, i have completed this game 2 times in the past elsewhere.

As for the game itself, this is by leaps and bounds the best in the franchise. Yes even above Origins. I really cannot for the life of me understand why this was not more successful. This game improved on almost everything from its predecessor: It had far better graphics, better story, better combat, better characters, better pacing, better controls.

It is game you should still play today for the story and characters. It has a very grounded story. If you are tired of the "i am a nobody and i am the only one who can save the univserse" plot most run of the mill RPGs use, this is not one of them. In this you are just a refugee attempting to rebuild your life with your family in a foreign city. There is a lot of civil strife and political tension, and you attempt to climb the social ladder and solve problems in the process of become the de facto leader of the city. Along the line you will meet a lot of well written characters with their own personalities to aid you in your journey.

Combat is more action this time around, and that is a good thing. As a person who grew up with Fallout 1 and Baldur's Gate 1, i saw Dragon Age Origin's combat for what it really was: an attempt to consolize Baldur's gate combat and make it pulpable to the unwashed mashes who only know how to play with a controller. As a result, Origins was a game that did nothing really well, it was tedious and boring and slow but it also didn't offer any real tactical challenge or choices. It was basically garbage. At least Dragon Age II dropped the pretenses and become more action-oriented and faster, so combat was a fun distraction until you continued the true good bits, the story and dialogue...

So yeah, this is a great, excellent game to get on a sale and try out. Stick with it and you will be rewarded with a quality story and characters with personality. They don't make games like this anymore.

Блин, надо было считать сколько раз использовались в квестах одинаковые пещеры/склады. И ведь если сроки поджимали, неужели нельзя было просто не добавлять однообразные энкаунтеры в одинаковых локациях... А сделать упор на исследование. На протяжении 3 актов встречался один и тот же склад, который использовался даже в сюжетном квесте в 3 акте.

Ты можешь быть благородным рыцарем, подлым наемником или саркастичным мерзавцем, который шутит даже тогда, когда его собираются принести в жертву. Это камерная драма, где сопартийцы — твоя вторая семья, со всеми их скелетами в шкафу и приступами одержимости демонами.
Геймплей: Кровь, пот и одинаковые пещеры
Боевка стала быстрее, злее и... мяснее. Маги теперь не просто машут палками, а вызывают бури, а воины превращают врагов в фарш одним ударом двуручника. Да, мы будем бегать по одной и той же пещере десять раз, потому что у Киркволла явно был один архитектор-минималист, но когда в дело вступает комбо-система и тактическая пауза — на декорации уже плевать.
Ultimate Edition: Полный набор безумия
В этой версии у тебя есть всё: от возвращения к семейным корням в «Клейме убийцы» до встречи с тем самым парнем в «Наследии», который испортит жизнь всем в следующей части игры. Плюс куча шмоток, которые заставят тебя выглядеть как настоящий Защитник, а не как беженец в обносках.
Вердикт
Самая спорная, но и самая душевная часть серии. Это игра про людей (и эльфов, и гномов), а не про спасение мироздания. Она несовершенна, как и сам Хоук, но именно поэтому её невозможно забыть.
Оценка: Пять золотых из Глубинных троп и одна кружка пива за счет заведения. 10 Варриков из 10.
