It's actually crazy how this DLC feels so crazy chaotic yet becomes an absolute slog to get through. The arenas go on for way, way, way too long.

Seriously, it is so unimaginably frustrating to go through a 15+ minute arena, mess up something or run into a bug, then have to start all over again.

This DLC should not have been split into two parts. They both could have just been released as one $20 DLC, but Bethesda wouldn't have been able to milk $40 out of their players for an experience not even half the length of the base game.

This is just like Doom Eternal, but shorter and much more difficult. There are some "new" enemies, so to speak. I guess they're more like new versions of certain enemies that behave differently, and make the battles more challenging.

I was constantly bombarded with "LOW AMMO" and "LOW HEALTH" notifications at the bottom of my screen. I never died this often in the base game. These few levels will require a lot of practice if you didn't already "git gud" previously.

The additional achievements/milestones are minimal. Beat each level, beat each level on Nightmare, beat each level on Ultra Nightmare, have 5 lives in Extra Life mode, etc. Nothing new here.

So, why am I upvoting? Because I know there are players that love new challenges like this. That is literally the only reason.

If there's a way to cost effectively get this DLC and Part Two together, do it. Otherwise, it's not worth just having the one.

Исключительно сюжетное дополнение, если вы думаете что здесь будет какой-то уникальный геймплей то не думайте так больше, да есть нововведения но они очень незначительные. Сюжет бы потянул на полноценную новую игру но такое чувство что сценаристы бесезды тупо не смогли его нормально растянуть. Продолжительность обоих частей The Ancient Gods примерно как 3-4 уровня (главы если хотите) в оригинальной игре. Ну и да нарезать и так не большое дополнение на 2 части по 5000₸ это сильно конечно нечего не скажешь ♥♥♥♥♥.

Oyunu bitirmeden söylüyorum. sadece başlarındayım belki ortalarındayım ama bu kadar rezalet bir şey görmedim. A****** sana hiç bir şey söylemiyor sanki oyunu oynamadan ezbere biliyomuşsun gibi yaptırıyor. Bir şeye sıkıosun vuruosun ne yaptığını bilmeden. Yaptığını görsen bile oyun sana hızlı ol diyor ne yapman gerektiğini söylemeden. Ya büyük bi DOOM hayranıyım ama DLC'yi yapmasalardı daha iyi a*****. Başları güzeldi ama biraz oynayınca insanı sinir edio. Oyunda bi kaç yeni şeytan var zaten onlarda çileden çıkartıyo. Spirit diye bi tane ruh gibi şey var alıo şeytanı amına koyim Optimus Prime yapıyo s*** yapacağınız DLC'yi, harbi s****. Bi de bir tane yer var her yerde patlayan yumurtalar bi de gördüğünü gönderiyo diyo hepsini öldür çileden çıkardı a**** yok oynamasanız daha iyi 12 Dolara değmez max 1,5 dolar. Oyun sırf zor olsun diye herşeyi çok fazla zorlaştırmışlar gameplay oynanılmaz kadar zor ve sinir edici. Önerebileceğim tek şeyi müzekleri ve hikayesi a**** geri kalanı b*ktan daha kötü. Sometimes I wish there was a neutral review option. I just finished part 1 of TAG and started part 2, and while I love fighting the hordes of demons the game throws at you, the new gimmicks and enemies are tedious and annoying. This dlc isn't bad, but now I see why it's reception is mixed

これをプレイしていくと、
素人は嫌でもタイピング能力を身につけられ
経験者はより高みを目指すことができます。

何が言いたいというと、マウスコロコロではなく
キー操作で敵にあった武器を素早く出さないと間に合わないほど
大量のデーモンが出てくるからです・・・。
しかも強いのがわんさかとｗ
勿論、本編超えのアスレチック会場も用意されていますよｗ

本編はまだマウスコロコロでも許してくれる
チュートリアルだったんだなと実感・・・。

最終ボス・・・なにあれ色々終わってんだろふざけんなｗ

I feel like the Doom Eternal DLC is an unnecessary expansion; it doesn't relocate us in time after the events of the base game, although they could have given it a little more context. You finish Doom Eternal and you're already in a strange base; things happened, right?

They added new enemies, yay! Why do I have to pay, in my case, $12 for a DLC that falls short in story and the only good thing about it is the enemies and the gameplay?

The level design is just too bad and repetitive after coming from an excellent campaign. This DLC felt very overwhelming and boring. I have nothing against the developers; they could have put more effort into it. I'd even venture to say they didn't need to release it at all and explain everything in art books. But anyway, this is just my personal opinion.

Wer Doom wegen seines schnellen, aggressiven Kampf‑Gameplays liebt, wird hier enttäuscht.
Ancient Gods verwandelt große Teile des Spiels in ein frustrierendes Jump‑and‑Run‑Experiment, das mit dem klassischen Doom‑Flow kaum noch etwas zu tun hat.

Statt Arena‑Kämpfen dominiert präzises Platforming mit engen Dash‑Fenstern, Stangen‑Timing und Trial‑and‑Error‑Passagen. Das bricht den Spielfluss komplett und fühlt sich eher nach einem Parkour‑Minigame an als nach Doom.

Jump & Run kann ich auch woanders haben – hier wirkt es fehl am Platz.
Wer das alte Doom‑Gefühl sucht, sollte sich gut überlegen, ob dieser DLC das Richtige ist.

The Ancient Gods Part 01 is a geat expansion to DOOM Eternal! However, if you're not comfortable in playing hard games, or games in hard difficulty in general, you should enable cautions, as this story expansion will test your sanity, so unless and until you wanna some extra challenges or stress in your life then start playing the expansion.

Also the level design felt toned down compared to the main game! But yeah this expansion continues the story , so you need to play this if you wanna experience the aftermath of DOOM Eternal. (:

Super fun, it's more of the Doom Eternal gameplay that you probably love. A bit harder, though, so you might want to turn down the difficulty a little.

The 3 levels are beautiful, and while the music isn't anything too crazy compared to the base game's tracks, they're still great.

Outside of the levels, the rest of the content is in the form of support runes and the new enemies.

The support runes... well, they're neat, but they don't really do much if anything. They're like a tiny little bonus you can get if you search for them.

The new enemies are reallllly annoying. Some in a good way, like the turrets, the whiplash spectres, or the Blood Maykrs (Depending on if they let down their shield ever or not).
But then there's the spectre. I didn't find spectres difficult, just annoying, and not in the fun way. They're manageable in most cases though.

The bosses are cool. Maligog is an interesting fight, and the final boss is super tough (though by that point you have a bunch of extra lives)

Well, if I enjoyed it, why am I not recommending it? Simply put, it's not worth 20 whole bucks.
All you get is 3 levels, some new enemies which are slightly annoying, and that's it. At least in TAG2 there's a new weapon, but as it stands unless you realllly love Doom Eternal, this DLC isn't anything special and not worth the price.

Very mixed feelings on this one. On one hand, the story is incredibly convoluted and dumb. They're trying to make Doom into a space opera, something it should never be. Doom is at its best when it's just a humble vehicle for fast-paced demon carnage. On the other hand however, the action and intensity of the levels is dialed up to 11, even a 12 out of 10 at times. It is a legitimate extreme challenge on Nightmare in a way that's fun for me. And for me, gameplay matters for than the story in a game like this, so I do recommend it despite some serious reservations.

Понравились уровни, они здесь новые и симпатичные. Музыка тоже обновилась, неплохо

Конечно же не понравилась, как многим, халтура, в виде закидывания мобами гг. В первом уровне так вообще только шаг ступи - сразу орду насылают, перегнули. Но бывают ситуации, когда разработчики действительно придумывали что-то интересное и какие-то уникальные стычки. Ну а в общем-то геймплей и не поменялся.
Добавили дополнительных плюшек кое-каких, но это на суть не особо повлияло

Сюжет дальше продолжили крутить и некоторые моменты прояснились. Но намудрили тут дядьки и тетьки... такое себе...
Опять же, уже не раз замечал, что продолжая историю в виде дополнений, образовываются дыры и несостыковки. Фантазия создалей улетает и они забывают следить за языком. [spoiler]Мне, блин, очень сложно представить как сознание Всеотца можно ОЦИФРОВАТЬ. Он создатель вообще всего - как это возможно? И когда Палач разрушил сферу Всеотца, то, по моему мнению, ткань мироздания должна вообще рассыпаться. Мне кажется, что все держится на Всеотце. Он дал жизнь всему, значит вместе с ним и должно все кануть в лету. Но может даже если не сразу, то затухнуть со временем, деградировать. Слишком серьезные "условности", в моем сознании такое не укладывается...[/spoiler]

Финальный босс порадовал, дал немного пропотеться. Думаю, больше всего запомнится из всей игры, по сравнению с остальными боссами.

Если бы не любовь к Doom 2016, то, кажется, забросил бы гораздо раньше...

Played Dark Ages and didn't love it. Wanted to go back to Eternal, realized I hadn't beat the DLC. 100%-ed the main campaign on Ultra-Violence already, so started this on same difficulty. Thought I was just knocking the rust off from bad Dark Ages habits and not playing this one for a while. But no... maybe I should start reading more reviews BEFORE buying games.

The challenge is fun for a while, but then having to retry every segment several times starts to just feel like a grind.

Každý DOOM som prešiel na Nightmare ale tu som to vzdal po 20 minútach a prepol na Ultra Violence... no ešte aj tak som mal problém to dohrať... proste šialená obtiažnosť ktorá sa už fakt nedá užívať... Okrem toho asi nemám čo vytknúť, je to proste DOOM ktorý milujeme. 8/10
