Closest to realistic cricket
Unable to play for the past several months. I receive the error message at start up that states I am required to be 'online'. I am online. My other Big Ant title plays fine. Performed the validation of files, still unable to play. Recent experience with BigAnt titles has not been great. Seems you are mostly testing unfinished products and shortly after the title is playable it is abandoned and then servers are no longer working to keep it playable.

Best cricket game so far
Such an amazing game and 2 co-op vs AI is the best thing ever where each player controls one batsman. Didn't even get to the part of bowling because how much it crashed. Tried a lot of online fixes but it still kept crashing.
Alternatives:
❌Don Bradman Cricket 17 sucks even more so that's not a solution.
❌Most other games after 2010 suck even more so that's not something we can do.
If you can and have a powerful PC and want to play by yourself only:

❕RPCS3 for PS3 emulation and playing this game there. There is no netplay there for now so that's a bummer. Maybe support for this is added there later, who knows. It's much more likely than these devs fixing this game at all.

Way Better than any of the Modern Cricket Games out there. Did give some trouble sometimes being a Very Old Game and all but overall its beautiful. Damn Shame they don't make em like that anymore.

I played lots of don bradman but recently I'm getting freezing problem with this game it exits abruptly after freezing during gameplay. All the progress is eventually lost I request devs to pls fix this.
Still the best of the series.
crashes a lot
Game doesn't even run, all it says that you need to be online to play the game, while my internet is just working fine and everything, The official website doesn't even shows DBC 14 server status, sad to see such a great game being thrown away by lazy and unprofessional devs. If you are not gonna maintain the servers then atleast let the players play the game offline only.
It's such an incredible cricket game but the game's completely unplayable due to extremely frequently freezing and crashing with no possible fix. Devs should fix this as they are selling a broken product which is unacceptable for paying customers.
I have to save and exit every over to be safe and not to lose my save game data. ive tried reinstalling repairing and nothing seems to fix the constant freezing im getting, would still recomend though

It is very good still in 2025, but maybe you"ll get bored a bit after playing for long but i clearly dont't got bored after playing for 47 hours

The game keeps crashing in career mode. Why would I make anybody waste their money? Yes, I love this game but BigAnt needs to fix this issue.

if youi are in search for good cricket game, this is it.
The game is not that bad but it crashes too often on Windows 11. I was approaching a double century (190) in a test match and it crashed out of nowhere. After re-launching the game, the progress was lost and it took me straight to the start of the test match. Disappointing!
This would be the best game about cricket I've ever played, but crashes, freezes, glitches, suddenly stops make this game unplayable. I played only 49 minutes and I had 8 times game threw me to desktop. BUT if you have no problems with that this game is terrific. That is a proper cricket simulator.
First ever game launched with multiple engine technology supporting in-built graphic peripherals making the game adaptable and addictive, Huge Fan.
Very good game. It has a steep learning curve though.

VERY GOOD GAME
DBC14 crashes often on Windows 11. I tried all of the tricks to make it work, but to no avail. It's difficult to relax during a Test match, wondering if and when it will freeze.

I've played numerous cricket games over the years and this is hands down the best. The player creator is fantastic and the game has a playability that is unbeatable.
In fact it can be argued that this is better than its successor DBC17. If that sounds crazy then play it yourself

It's a fantastic game despite being almost 10 years old. Even when compared to later Big Ant Cricket titles, DBC 14 in my opinion is head and shoulders above all. It's arguably the most realistic game in terms of depth, mechanics, physics and customisation options. It has it's drawbacks as well. But overall the most accurate Cricket Simulation to date.
Pros:
1- Very realistic batting controls which make premeditation of shot almost impossible.
2- Unique bowling controls are actually quite fun.
3- Graphics are very realistic even for a decade old game.
4- Dedicated Appeal button is actually a touch of genius.
5- Physics are as realistic as it gets in a cricket game.
6- Endless customisation options keep the game relevant for years to come
7- Career mode is very fun to play despite being very basic.
8- AI is quite competitive and makes you work hard for both runs and wickets.
9- Stadiums and Grounds feel very realistic in terms of scale and overall look and feel.
10- Community creations make team updates very convenient.
Cons:
1- Lack of On-field radar is very frustrating at times.
2- Lack of a batsman running camera/visual is actually very inconvenient and can make judging runs very difficult when combined with very dodgy camera angles.
3-Camera angles are very weird and quite off putting.
4- Lack of a variety of batting and bowling animations can get frustrating as there are no real differences between players apart from their physical features and names. Some different variety of bowling actions, batting stances, more shot animations, visible batting style differences, different variations of the existing shots and so on could've made it an even more engaging game.
5- Animations looks quite stiff across the board.
6- Wicket keeping animations are very jerky and unrealistic. Keeper hardly follows the ball and often takes catches with one hand. It feels as though it's just another fielder with pads and gloves on. Some more time could've been spent studying how wicket keepers operate to better implement these animations.
7- Ball doesn't carry to the keeper and slips more often than not even if it's bowled at 145+ km/h.
8- All test playing nations should've had at least one stadium/ground assigned to them.
9-Lack of keyboard controls can get quite frustrating. Devs could've taken a looks at previous Cricket titles on both PC/Mobiles all of which had unique ways of implementing controls which could've suited DBC 14 without compromising the realism of the game.
10- There should've been an in-game fixture editor that could've dealt with Career mode fixtures as they can get quite repetitive after a while.
Overall, it's a brilliant game especially considering this was Big Ant's first crack at a Cricket game and to have come up with a game that completely broke away from the blueprint of previous games and cemented itself as the new benchmark in Cricket titles must be applauded . Despite it's drawbacks some of which were self-inflicted due to curious design choices, this still is the most realistic Cricket Simulation to date and has introduced some very crucial features which are now replicated in all other Cricket titles.

I have played DB14 and DB17 and I have come to the conclusion that DB 14 is way better in terms of gameplay. Yes, DB17 has more modes and also includes women's cricket. But somehow, DB14 just hits you different. I love it. And hope BigAnt does something in their next game, I am hopeful.

Cricket games are coming regularly ... but after a long time from EA sports cricket 07, i find this game as the best of all. even in 2023... i feel this is the best cricket game of all time.
one of the main reasons in this game... both forward and backward shorts are played beautifully for all deliveries which you cannot find in other cricket games even till big ant cricket 22.

It's Really a Great effort by big ant studios. everything is finebut the only problem is AI.
This is still the best cricket game ever made! I don't know how bigants got it right in their first try and then bombed it every other title. Maybe greed got them after this passionately made successful game!
