„Daylight“ hat mich vor allem durch seine intensive Atmosphäre überrascht. Obwohl das Spiel mittlerweile schon einige Jahre hinter sich hat, schafft es immer noch, eine beklemmende und unangenehme Stimmung aufzubauen, die hervorragend zum Horror-Genre passt. Gerade das Zusammenspiel aus Dunkelheit, Sound und der ungewissen Umgebung sorgt dafür, dass man sich nie wirklich sicher fühlt.
Die Grafik ist zwar sichtbar älter, passt aber erstaunlich gut zum Spiel. Sie ist nicht besonders detailliert nach heutigen Standards, erfüllt jedoch ihren Zweck vollkommen. Die düsteren, verlassenen Krankenhausflure wirken trotz des Alters glaubwürdig und tragen stark zur unheimlichen Stimmung bei. Gerade weil alles etwas roh und unsauber wirkt, unterstützt das die bedrückende Atmosphäre sogar eher, als dass es stört.
Die Storyline ist mehr als nur überzeugend und fügt sich perfekt in das Horror-Setting ein. Nach und nach erfährt man mehr über die Hintergründe des Ortes und was dort geschehen ist. Diese Art des Storytellings funktioniert gut, weil es die Spannung aufrechterhält und einen motiviert, weiterzuspielen, um die Zusammenhänge zu verstehen.
Die Gamemechanik basiert auf einem interessanten Konzept: Man bewegt sich durch zufällig generierte Bereiche, sammelt Hinweise und versucht, den Ausgang zu finden, während etwas Unbekanntes einen verfolgt. Grundsätzlich funktioniert das Gameplay solide, allerdings lässt sich das System teilweise relativ leicht aushebeln. Beispielsweise kann man bestimmte Situationen entschärfen, indem man einfach auf den Boden schaut, was die Spannung in manchen Momenten etwas reduziert.
Die Horror-Elemente hingegen sind wirklich hervorragend umgesetzt. Besonders die Jumpscares und das Sounddesign sind extrem effektiv und sorgen regelmäßig für echte Schreckmomente. Der Einsatz von Geräuschen, plötzlichen Erscheinungen und der permanenten Unsicherheit, was hinter der nächsten Ecke lauert, ist fast schon kultig und gehört definitiv zu den stärksten Aspekten des Spiels.
Technisch gibt es allerdings auch einige Schwächen. Besonders das Speichersystem kann ziemlich frustrierend sein. In meinem Fall wurde mein Speicherstand mitten im Spiel einfach gelöscht, was so frustrierend war, dass ich das Spiel fast zwei Jahre lang nicht mehr angerührt habe. Solche Probleme können den Spielfluss natürlich stark beeinträchtigen.
Insgesamt merkt man „Daylight“ sein Alter deutlich an, und genau das ist gleichzeitig seine größte Stärke und sein größter Nachteil. Für ein so altes Spiel ist es wirklich beeindruckend umgesetzt, allerdings sorgen das Alter und die Technik auch dafür, dass Bugs und kleinere Probleme auftreten können.
Trotz dieser Schwächen bleibt „Daylight“ ein sehr solides Horror-Spiel mit einer starken Atmosphäre, überzeugender Story und einigen wirklich ikonischen Horror-Momenten.
Empfehlen lässt sich "Daylight" eher bedingt, da es zwar auf jeden Fall nicht für jeden etwas ist und wenn man großes Pech hat man mehr als nur frustriert wird, allerdings ist es an sich dennoch ein sehr gelungenes Spiel besonders für seine Zeit.

Wenn man sich gut darauf einlässt, dann fühlt man sich, als wäre man mittendrin. Die Aufgaben sind zwar gleich, aber die Story dahinter ist der Hauptfokus dahinter. :-)
Meine Erfahrung rührt daher das ich dieses Spiel bezwungen habe. Es konnte mich nicht einschüchtern. Dafür hab ich die Hexe mit der Fackel in die Knie gezwungen bis sie verbrannt ist.
Es wird einem Horror Connoisseur eine minimale Anzahl an stereotypen Mechaniken geboten in kürzester Zeit. Jumpscares, looping, Gegenstände finden und an einem Ort bringen, im dunkeln bei schlechter Beleuchtung irgendwohin rennen und so weiter. überraschenderweise habe ich trotzdessen spass beim Spielen, übelkeit und etwas angst verspürt. Spass weil man Angst hatte und übelkeit weil man Motion Sickness durch die wackelnde Kameraführung bekommt. Brötchen hats auch Spass gemacht. Ich gebe dem Spiel eine +2 ( von -5 bis +5)

1.Предсказуемые скримеры: Пугалки работают по одному шаблону. Через 20 минут игры вы уже понимаете, когда из-за угла выскочит призрак.
2.Отсутствие чувства опасности: Главная героиня может просто убежать от призраков, а наличие бесконечных сигнальных шашек делает противников практически безобидными.
3. Технические проблемы
На момент выхода (и даже позже) игра страдала от плохой оптимизации:
1.Низкий FPS: Даже на мощных ПК игра умудрялась тормозить, несмотря на не самую передовую графику на Unreal Engine 4.
2.Баги: Игроки часто жаловались на застревание в текстурах и проблемы с управлением.
4. Сюжет «для галочки»
История подается через разрозненные записки, которые не складываются в интересную картину. Игроку трудно сопереживать героине, так как о ней почти ничего не известно, а финал наступает слишком быстро и не дает ответов.

I'm probably one of five people who actually remember this game beyond it somehow being the first game made in Unreal Engine 4.
It sucks. The gameplay is linear and boring, the monsters aren't scary and you will only die if you let yourself, there's barely any audio, the story makes no sense and the ending is forgettable. I beat it in under an hour.
It's shocking this game was published by Atlas and it's solely remembered because of its engine and publisher. Not even PewDiePie playing it back then let to people remembering it.

Ich bin überrascht. Gruselige Atmosphäre. Die Story ist kurz gehalten und man ist auch sehr schnell durch. Schocker Momente sind garantiert. Die Grafik ist für dieses Spiel mehr als in Ordnung. Für einen gemütlichen Horrorabend vollkommen ausreichend.

The 2010s had a lot of these Slendy type games, Some of them struggled to have it's own identity due to the game they got the inspiration from, This one falls into that category. I'm also surprised that this was originally published by Atlus, yeah THAT Atlus.
Playing it was very familiar to me since these old games play and feel very similar to each other, So it was really easy for me to adapt. As for difficulty, Played it in Normal and it wasn't that bad, Mainly to get through the story and get as much collectibles as i could on my play-through. The game itself was also very short, Completed it in 5 hrs more or less, But i bet if someone else gives it a try they can beat it in less!
Despite some of the negativity that this game got almost a decade ago it isn't that bad, Yeah it's a little dated but still can be enjoyable for some. It's also very cheap so if you want to give it a try, Go ahead! Just keep in mind what type of game is this before doing so.

This game came with my GTX 760 way back in 2014. It took me 11 years to finally play it. Was it worth the wait? Nah.
You explore a procedurally-generated asylum, prison, sewer, and forest. Most of the gameplay consists of collecting notes while being pursued by [spoiler]ghostly witches[/spoiler] (which attack you every ~15 seconds after the first area). Once you find all the required notes, you have to run to a summoning circle that spawns a haunted item/key, which you then use on a sigil/gate before getting killed. At the end of each section, there are some bare-bones "puzzles" that involve simply moving a box and/or turning on a power switch.
Throughout this, a [spoiler]doctor[/spoiler] will provide vague philosophical musings and cryptic plot tidbits via your phone, which acts as a map and light-source. The story itself is [i]incredibly[/i] generic since most of the notes you find are "patient/guard/worker reports seeing spooky thing" or unremarkable historical photos.
I guess there a few decent jumpscares, but once you realize you can switch between glowsticks and flares (the defensive item) in order to conserve resources, the enemies are easy to manage. It's a mediocre experience overall but thankfully short.
If you want to explore a creepy asylum/prison/sewer, just play Outlast.
If you want to investigate ghosts, just play Phasmophobia.
If you want to collect pages, just play Slender: The Arrival.

Честно сказать, пишу положительный отзыв положа руку на сердце, слишком много косяков, а игра стала клише ещё в год своего выхода. Но, я помню, как в подростковом возрасте видел по ней прохождение и я сам хотел однажды пройти её. Мечта сбылась, я был рад сыграть в неё и поностальгировать. Однако, если вы не играли, то будьте готовы, что на одном из уровней есть баг с невидимой стеной и надо просто поиграться с настройками графики. чтобы он пропал. Из минусов: враги контрятся обычным игнором, пугливым людям будет страшно, а мне было всё равно, я просто ходил во главе этого паровозика из призраков, ни о чём не думая. В целом, разок сыграть можно, игра не настолько ужасна, как о ней говорят.

I wanted to recommend this game. Their are things about the game which are good an enjoyable. Their are some annoying bugs tho. After iv ran through the sewer part of the game their is a metal door which is open but its bugged, iv seen on YouTube you are meant to go through it, its open but I cant fit through it I cant walk into it, its just static an I cant walk through the open door something invisible blocks my path. After many attempts game resets an re starts install, uninstall, quite annoying.
Всех приветствую, чтож постараюсь быть обьективным. Игра как хоррор мне зашла, пугала не сильно, но напряжение было почти всю игру, от неё не следует ждать многого.
Справедливая на мой взгляд оценка 5.5 из 10.
Выглядит слабо по сравнению со многими хоррорами которые вышли раньше и на старых движках. Тот же Slender: The arival будет куда интересней и лучше, так же как и Amnesia. Не стоит сравнивать игру со Slender'ом там более интересный сюжет, геймплей и его подача.
Генерация локаций - её нет. Всё однотипно, коридоры, записки, предмет, выход, туда-сюда, туда-сюда. Не советую приобретать как я за полную цену, ждите распродажи, а лучше сыграйте пиратку.

This was added to the families account when a video card was purchased ages ago. This game is my nightmare, I would have it no other way. Puzzles feel good, I would recommend this for multiple playthroughs, which to complete the game 100% you will have to do.

Daylights only claim is being one of the first few to use the UE4 engine when it came out. Other than that it's not very scary, relies on random generation of levels and has a predictable story. The AI is easy to bug out and bypass and is pretty simple anyways. The same entity follows you around and will just teleport behind you. Extremely easy to beat by not looking at it and walking backwards into it will force it to despawn.

A 90 minute long Unreal Engine 4 tech demo masquerading as a semi-high effort Slender clone. As a Slender clone, it's crap by default. There's barely any story to speak of, or gameplay for that matter. Boring, procedurally generated corridors with constant cheap jumpscares.
The only reason this game is remembered at all, is that it's the first UE4 game ever released.

wunder schönes spiel schade das es nicht auf deutsch ist aber ist nicht so schlimm. mega coole Story Perfekt zu gruseln und dabei hab ich vor nix angst aber das spiel schaft es immer wieder mich zu erschrecken. ich muss euch das spiel echt raten zu spielen. ich würde es auch cool finden wenn es ein 2 teil geben würde. und das für 4 Euro finde ich es loht sich.

daylight has the feeling of a tech demo gone wrong. this isn't to say it's not graphically impressive for the time, but that it was allowed to be something *other* then a tech demo.
the game part of daylight feels woefully low-effort. i don't enjoy ascribing intentionality that hasn't been mentioned elsewhere to hard working developers, but it's hard to escape the fact that this was designed to cash in on the still-huge market of horror game streamers and little else. there's a story here, yes, but it's barely noticeable until the very end.
the game also relies entirely on procedural generation for its maps and everything feels completely artificial as a result. good horror takes a *ton* of care and attention and hand tweaking specific moments to maximise the fear and daylight has none of that. it's just identi-kit hallways, separated by doors. there are no memorable moments like the water monster in Amnesia or being captured and tortured in Outlast. it's just moving forward and clicking, stopping to get out a flare or glowstick.
progression is gated by metaphysical keys that represent the memories of the people that once inhabited the hospital and the surrounding island, but it's incredibly simple. here's the loop: you enter into a play area (as opposed to a story area), a spooky sound happens. you then find four diary entries, then find the key and proceed past the gate. that's it. i understand that games like Slenderman popularized this style, but honestly? those games did it *far* better. they understood pacing, and setup. also, Slendy was a terrifying foe. the enemies in Daylight can be defeated by holding up flares or.....by just not looking at them. VERY SPOOKY.
daylight is reluctant to step outside of the mold and the procgen structure is also likely is the reason for the incredibly thin story as mentioned above, which is primarily told through a doctor narrating your actions and diary entries/readables. is it possible it could have been anything more? who knows. the structure of the game really forces the story to be easily replicable across a possibly infinite number of hallways. but wow, it's so generic. spooky hospital with a secret. spooky prison with a secret. spooky woods with a secret. the ending is not worth the journey either. what's interesting is i remember coverage at the time talking about Jessica Chobot's (IGN) involvement as a writer, but if this is her best work then i can see why she hasn't written any games since.
the audio is also Fine I guess, with no real noticeable aesthetic other then "spooky noises" and voice acting i would describe as Fine. the real money went into the visuals, and the game does have some nice effects here and there and as one of the first games to use UE4 back in the day, it was extremely notable for it's visuals. but in 2023, the graphical power is let down by the sameness of the environments. also, the UI is incredibly small at 4k but i won't blame the devs for that.
should you play Daylight? no. in 2023, there are infinitely better horror games releasing *each day* on steam, itch or other platforms. you can do sooooo much better then this now. it's not even worth a curiosity.
Great short horror game.
I remember playing through this multiple times on PS4. It was fun to play it again on PC.
There is nothing fancy about this game, you just have a phone with a camera and some flares that help to see key items and a creepy guy talking to you as you progress.
Each level contains maze like areas which require collecting pages to unlock visions to proceed to the next level. While doing so there is an ghost lurking about that will harm and kill you if you don't find a way to hide from or outrun it. The whispering and noises I heard throughout the game gave me the heebies and although somewhat repetitive, kept me immersed just enough to find it to be an fun horror game experience.
Somewhat simple and fun horror game experience for $4.99. I recommend a playthrough.

Непонятно как к такой ноунейм инди студии первым попал движок Unreal 4. Видимо они стремились быть первыми... Первыми кто сделает не только первую, но и первую провальную игру на этом движке
It´s a nice small horror game to finish in about 2 hours.
ME ENCANTA ESTE JUEGO. Puede que no destaque por su gran historia o que graficamente no es nada del otro mundo pero tiene algo realmente especial, una gran ambientación y atmósfera para un juego tan corto, todo el audio, tanto la voz de la protagonista o los gritos de las brujas que acechan esta muy logrado. En su momento estaba a 20 fps en consola, ahora lo he jugado a 80 fps y ha sido una gozada absoluta.
An extremely lacklustre Slender clone (with Slender itself already being a low bar of quality) that's only claim to fame is being the first game to utilise an engine that, in hindsight, was mediocre at best.

Геймплей ну самый простецкий который можно придумать. Те кто постарше наверное играли или видели Слендера, где надо было записки собирать, чем больше их собираешь, тем злее враг. Так вот, тут даже это упростили. В игре 5 зон с монстром, на каждой надо собрать по 5 записок (любых), взять вещь на одной части карты и принести в следующую часть. Всё. Монстр в игре максимально безобидный, пока вы не смотрите точно в его лицо то оно не сделал ничего, можно просто стоять на месте и ждать пока уйдёт. Так же монстр перед лицом появляется только если баг, короче ваш шанс умереть в игре стремится к 0. Но даже так монстра можно отпугивать, для этого есть фаеры, лично мне их надо было использовать только для того что бы быстро преодолеть кусок карты на бегу, а так бесполезно. Есть синяя палка, светит не далеко, но подсвечивает ящики с записками и расходниками, самая полезная вещь. И есть карта на мобиле, тоже вещь весьма нужная из-за строения рандомного карты.
Вообще рандомное строение карты в теории вещь интересная, но по факту вышла какая-то фигня. Очень мало сделали комнат, примерно штук 4 на одну локацию и пару коридоров. А учитывая что карты могут сгенерировать этажа по 3 то это слишком мало и запутаться в них проще простого, по логике разработчика это должно было сделать игру интереснее для перепрохождений, но локации получились очень скучными и абсолютно не запоминающимися, что огромный минус.
[h1]Если вас когда нибудь спросят "В какой игре хуже всего подан сюжет и сам по себе отстой?", то Daylight будет лучшим ответом.[/h1]
В игре 100+ записок, в игре которая проходится за час. При это более половины записок - абсолютно бесполезные филлеры. Текста в них ну мега много, я не знаю кто в здравом уме будет читать всю эту шизанину. Да и ладно бы если сюжет тащил, но нет. Сама по себе история примитивная до нельзя. К тому же в игре есть озвученные диалоги, но информативности в себе они не несут вообще. Нет флешбеков, нет нормальный диалогов, нет вопросов и ответов. Да ничего нет. Как будто комментатор какой-то, не больше. И при этом всём игра свой сюжет подаёт на полном серьёзе, хотя по факту это даже за криппипасту не сгодится.

Графика в игре ну очень слабая, прогрузка вообще в паре шагов от гг. Огонь 2Д. Текстуры хотя бы не плохие кстати. Свет более чем отстой и прочее такое. Но анимации отличные кстати, особенно рук.
Техническое состояние очень спорное, ФПС проседает довольно часто, микро фризы иногда так же, не критично вроде, но не приятно в игре без графона видеть такое.
[h1][b]Итог: Daylight - хоррор без каких либо плюсов. Она не выделяет ничем хорошим, только минусы и проблемы. Плохо, очень плохо. Не рекомендуется даже к ознакомлению.[/b][/h1]

Auf jedenfall mal etwas origineller als die meisten Horrorgames bis 5€. Klar es ist mit uns bekannten Mechaniken, aber die Effekte, das Environment, generell die verwendeten Modelle und das Design reißen es raus und machen es Immersiv. Dafür dass es 2014 released wurde sieht es immer noch sehr gut aus und auch die ein oder anderen Stellen haben mich gut geschockt. Ansonsten läuft man doch eher so beiläufig durch, sucht Relikte und verirrt sich in monotonen Krankenhausfluren. Die Szenen gegen Ende fand ich doch deutlich besser und athmosphärischer. Die Geschichte behinaltet sogar noch einen nicen Plottwist in der Geschichte die überwiegend durch gefundene Notizen, Bilder und wenigen Voicelines erzählt wird.

So I've finished it for the third time, because I've been seeking out first-person horror titles that use some form of RNG or procedural generation, as I'm currently developing a similar title myself. And I think this game has gotten a bad rap. I can't speak to how much it was hyped early on, how much it may have cost on release, or how well twitch integration worked since that feature seems to be dead now - but for roughly five dollars, I think this game gives you a unique horror experience that is pretty dissimilar to the cavalcade of first-person horror titles on Steam and Itch, that focus on very short highly curated on rails horror house experiences. It tries to do something quite different, and I think for the most part, it's a success.
That being said, it is extremely short. My first run took maybe an hour and a half. My second and third runs, half that. This is fine for a lot of small indie horrors, but this game seems to be a larger project, and since it's procedurally generated, you just expect a lot more content.
This leads to the main problem: most of this game isn't procedural generation, and what little procedural generation is there, doesn't add very much to the experience. While extremely cool, and technically I love how it's set up to attempt a seamless experience by locking you in minor holding events with little puzzles while it generates the next random environment - it ultimately falls flat of what I imagine was the intention - a reason to play again. Otherwise, what is its point?
The story is so guided, the plot progression so curated, that the RNG elements are sort of meaningless. I know after the initial opening Labyrinth, I will always get the teddy bear, and then move into the big storage factory. I know after that I will have the prison segment, and then the sewers. Each section has the same item, the same exit tiles - and the RNG is barely there - which path you take to the item you need, and which resources you get, basically being the gist of it. The RNG element, at most, actually creates a rather frustrating aspect to the game, because each run can be wildly different in how difficult it is due to which features are random. During one attempt, I received no flares - which meant I couldn't defend myself. In another run, I searched the prison segment for a good 20 minutes, and the final note was just impossible to find, leading to eventual resource degradation and death.
The RNG loop is great in theory, but the game seems to realize that it isn't designed extremely well, and thus doesn't dwell on it, forcing you through the story at breakneck speed. This game could have been triple the length, with multiple runs into each area, there could be so much more flesh on the bones, considering how solid the base of the concept is. Sure, you need some additional checks and balances to make the RNG work better - maybe a better RNG haunt system, that isn't just an escalation of the same ghost getting more and more in your face until you pass through the area, but the idea is sound, and it's a shame it sort of feels stapled on.
Ultimately the game is a little confused, what they term ludo-narratological dissonance - because while the design of the story and overall narrative is very much an on-rails experience like most other horror games, the thing that makes this project stand out - the technical and mechanical design of the RNG / procedural generation - is given so little love, and none of the game is built around or supports it - so it's meaningless. You have the main character have the labyrinth tattoo on her arm, which is cool - but why? What is the reason for this labyrinth of the mind other than sort of a cool mechanic and maybe only very loosely tied into the overall plot we end up getting? This feels like two concepts stitched together. A cool psychological horror about an albeit tired mental health trope and perhaps underutilized lore about witches. And an interesting tech demo for a first-person horror that takes place in a procedurally generated environment.
All that said, it's the very least interesting, the narrative is decent, and while there are far too many notes, they are interesting to read, the mechanics for exploration are simplistic but unique, the puzzles are extremely simple but fine, and the game is structured ultimately, fairly well. It's a fun experience, but the procedural element, in the end, becomes more of a hindrance than a selling point. Is it a throw popcorn-in-the-air curated horror house game that so many people seem to want these days? No, but it's a cool game. If you like cool games, check it out. I'd be keen to see what else the developers have worked on after this.
Edit: Oh never mind, this game seems to have killed the studio, which was developing titles since 1995. What a shame.
It's a shame, the development creates a visual impressive game with great sound effects and ruins the gameplay with a first-class camera bobbing that cannot be switched off.

Daylight é um terror indie que desde seu lançamento me chamou a atenção pelos cenários, ambientação e gameplay bem intuitiva. O jogo é basicamente correr por um labirinto coletando recurso e notas pra passar de nível enquanto tem coisa te perseguindo e você vai progredindo na história.
É uma premissa OK pra um jogo indie mas eu simplesmente não consigo jogar porque a movimentação da câmera quando o personagem corre me deixa bastante enjoado e não tem como desativar isso(famoso Motion Sickness). Infelizmente não tem como zerar o game apenas andando né...
Ein sehr kurzes mäßiges Horrorgame. Die Grafik ist für 2014 super und auch im Jahr 2023 noch akzeptabel. Es passt zum Setting und Atmosphäre des Spieles.
Pro:
- Interessante Story, in die man einiges hineininterpretieren kann
- gutes Sounddesign
- kurz (mal für einen Abend)
Contra:
- kein Wiederspielwert
- schlauchige, eintönige Level
- Archivments wurden erst nach dem schließen des Spiel angezeigt und aktiviert
- Horror wirkt nicht so richtig (persönliches Empfinden)
- stupides Wiederholen von Aufgaben
- Jumpscares wirken nach einiger Zeit nicht mehr (Wiederholung, keine neuen Ideen)
Wer mal für ein Abend sich mit leichter Gruselkost vergnügen will und keine großen Erwartungen hat, kann für 4€ nichts falsch machen. (Besser im Sale kaufen).
Wer aber ein Abwechslungsreiches Horrorspiele erwartet mit krassen Horror, wird hier entäuscht werden.

Музыка очень добротная. В главном меню такая ненавязчивая, призрачная, эффектная. В процессе игры находится в постоянном сопровождении, помогает раскачиванию нервной системы, особенно, когда появляется вездесущий преследователь.
Звук бодро и нагло добавляет в эту симфонию свою партитуру. По-хорошему говоря, из-за звука, я полагал, что будут ещё разнообразные враги в процессе прохождения, но это оказалось не так. Резкие хлопки, шумы, крик неутомимого преследователя добавляло масла в огонь моих сжигаемых нервных клеток.

Доходило до того, что я бегу с фальшфейером, а преследователь появляется чуть ли не перед лицом и сразу исчезает, в какой-то момент враг стал появляться по кд в процессе моей беготни, тем самым дав возможность получить достижение на раз два, когда его получило всего 2,5% человек (хотя, как вариант игру просто бросали и всё);
[*]В игре есть генерация архитектуры уровней, по крайне мере начальных точно, но от этого ни тепло ни холодно, ни в радость ни в горе, ни в за*уй ни по*уй, извините, точнее просто не выразиться;

can't seem to finish the game since i get stuck after the sewer level. the door which is promising me freedom after you lower the sewer bridge is not opening properly hence the char gets stuck and can't get past.
overall a fun little jumpscare experience for a low price weren't it for the part i get stuck on

Ein absoluter Fan des Spiels, der gern dieses Konzept in heutigen Games sehen würde. Die zufällig generierten Räume so wie die abrupt und nicht absehbaren Jumpscares sorgen für den ein oder anderen Erschrecker und sind einigermaßen gut ausgeglichen. Die Story ist OK, aber meines Erachtens nicht der Rede wert, viel mehr sehe ich das Challengepotenzial beim durchspielen dieses Spiels, welches ich des öfteren mit meinen Freunden schon ausprobiert habe, zu sehen an meinen Stunden. ;D
Für kleines Geld auf jedenfall kein schlechter Fang! ^-^

Arkadaşlar fazla bok atmışlar ama o kadar da kötü değil. Grafikleri kötü demişler aslında gayet iyi. Zaten 1.5 saat sürecek bir oyundan daha ne bekleyebilirsiniz ki grafik olarak? göze oldukça hoş duruyor. Koridorlarda koşup anahtar büyülü itemi bul kapıyı aç şeklinde ilerlediği için kötü gelebilir ama inanın labirent gibi de değil birazcık aranıp yolu bulabiliyorsunuz ve anahtar itemi bulduktan sonra çok yakınında da kilitli kapı oluyor diyebilirim. Hikayesini anlamadım sunumu berbat kağıt toplayıp üşenmeden okuyup anlayabilirseniz buyrun, arka planda telefondan konuşan abinin kim olduğunu bilmiyoruz ve yardımcı olmak yerine bize küstahça anlamsız öğütler veriyor. Ana karakter sarah tepkileri falan güzel ama hani orada birileri var bir şey dönüyor falan dedikten sonra orada biri mi var falan diye soruyor yani sarahın söyledikleri bas baya tekrara düşüyor bulunduğunuz mekana ve olaylara göre tepki vermesi için uğraşılmamış. Story is interesting, but the negative reviews on story are the ones who paid no attention to the scraps here and there that explain things. If you just read the notes that are barely hidden then you get a good story that has an interesting end.
Przyjemna gierka z dosyć prostą mechaniką. Lokacje fajne i ponure, idealnie pasujące do klimatu panującego w grze. Czy polecam? Jak najbardziej :) Gierkę właśnie przeszedłem i pewnie zrobię to ponownie, gdyż zastosowano w niej randomowe budowanie poziomów :)

Pretty good indie horror, with quality surround sound.
The picture, special effects and part of the gameplay - terribly strongly reminiscent of UZombie. And Mercer's voice - which is voiced by Alexander Gruzdev - only further encourages the idea that this game takes place in the same universe.
Simple control - the player only needs to run away from the Witches, collect notes and try to bring the artifact to the door. These actions are simple, intuitive and well designed. But what is sad is the character's attempts to climb objects. This option in the game is implemented a little incorrectly.
The game has a mini-map on which you must navigate in search of an exit in the maze of intricacies of the corridor. True, while running, it is pretty useless, because you do not have time to consider it. And when you turn on the card - you can not move yourself, becoming an excellent target for the Witch. In addition, you can't move the map - which is why you can't think of the whole route.
In this connection, one should only rely on one's memory and attentiveness.
The plot of the game is quite primitive and does not shine with originality. But nevertheless, reading notes revealing the secrets of this place is quite interesting.
I recommend this game for purchase, horror fans. And also to streamers - due to the integration of twitch into the game itself. True, I have not tested this function, but they say that it works great and adds a lot of fun to the game.
I first watched this game on YouTube back in 2014, then finally played it myself in 2022, and now—here I am reviewing it in 2024! 😄
Comparing it to today's standards wouldn’t be fair, so I’m looking at it in the context of when it first came out.
The story is solid, the graphics were good for the time, and the atmosphere combined with the sound design is excellent. The witch can get pretty annoying, and the map design sometimes feels confusing, but overall, it’s a good horror experience.
That said, it can be tricky to run on modern systems, so be prepared to troubleshoot a bit if it doesn’t launch smoothly.
For around 5€, it’s worth checking out if you’re looking for 3–4 hours of spooky gameplay!

Does very well what it's supposed to do: Shock you. The procedural generation works, you get different layouts every time - none of the ones i had were broken. Once you get the mechanics of the game it becomes relatively easy - almost like a 3D version of pacman, but even that is still a lot of fun. Graphics are great, especially for it's age. One playthrough is around 2 hours, but the random generations makes up for it in further runs. 100% recommended for horror fans who want something simple but impactful once in a while.
It's also the only horror game ever to make me scream, was surprised a game could do that. And i played all the good stuff, Amnesia, Alien Isolation... only Daylight made me scream.

Ich habe mir das Spiel jetzt lange nach Veröffentlichung gekauft und muss sagen dass ich absolut begeistert bin! Damals hat es mir nach dem Ansehen von Gronkhs Lets Play schon sehr gut gefallen, aber nachdem ich es selbst gespielt habe, finde ich es sogar noch besser! Vielleicht beeinflusst aber auch etwas Nostalgie mein Empfinden ;)
Das Spiel hat mMn eine großartige Atmosphäre und Hintergrundmusik, sowie Story. Und auch wenn sich die Rätsel sich wiederholen langweilt man sich nicht, weil man immer neue Maps erkunden kann und sich Pläne für die Flucht vor den Hexen zu überlegen hat.
Es ist zwar etwas kurz, aber mit dem derzeitigen Preis kann man eigentlich nichts falsch machen!

I played through this a second time recently. And I gotta say, it's a really good horror experience... for the first couple minutes. After that, it just gets tedious. It's a shame too, the first level really does a great job setting up a claustrophobic and eerie atmosphere, but after the first spirits start showing up, it gets annoying. It's really hard to concentrate with that gargling noise in my ear and it just really takes me out of the moment. It's very obvious that this game takes inspiration from the Slender games which were also pretty bad.
Not to mention the story is extremely hard to piece together. Like I get that Mid Island was a burial ground for the witches who were killed there and that's why the hauntings were happening, but that ending left me with more questions than answers. Was the game all just a hallucination in Sarah's mind? If she's descended from one of the witches, why are the spirits so pissed at her? If there were 13 witches supposedly killed but only 12 graves were found, did her ancestor, the 13th witch, try to save her own life by selling out the others and that's why they're angry? What happened to Dr. Mercer? Why is he suddenly making contact with Sarah and why is it that through the entire game, Sarah never responds to him?
All in all, I found the whole thing really frustrating; the game really had potential with the buildup in the beginning and the world building through the diary entries and notes was really good, but it just wound up tripping over it's shoelaces in the end.

Es ist sehr Atmosphärisch, leider aber auch sehr kurz.
Jedoch wer das Spiel auf 100% haben will wird Spaß bekommen, denn dies ist gar nicht so einfach.
Es lohnen sich immer mehrere Spieldurchläufe, da man immer mehr Dokumente findet, die die Story komplettieren.
Es ist kurz, knackig und verdammt gruselig. Es sind nicht wirklich die Jumpscares die das Spiel so gruselig machen, sondern das Wissen und Hören, dass immer etwas in der Nähe ist.
It's a great little game, specially in 3D. Unfortunately I couldn't make the 3D work for me, and I bought it specifically to play it in 3D. I tried with an AMD RX 570 and a LG 3D monitor and got nowhere, seems 3D support is very limited so mind that if you want this PC version.

I got this game back in 2014, and didn't play it untill now... It's Ass, Short, Enemy is too easy to avoid, no challange. Only died because Steam melted my punkass.

Daylight is an action adventure with small horror elements, which was developed by Zombie Studios.

The aim of the player in each level is to look for notes and logs from the hospital's past, known as the "remains" by looking for markings with glow sticks. When all remains of a level have been collected, the player can acquire a "seal", an object that is significant for the hospital's past, such as a teddy bear and a Bible. Bringing the seal to the "Seal of Shadows" unlocks the next part of the building, allowing the player to advance further into the hospital and possibly freedom.
Finding remains can cause a mark on their arm that attracts the dangerous "shadow people". The player can either make them disappear with flares or lose them by running away. The player cannot access any weapons; the only tools available are glow sticks, flares, and a cell phone. The environment layout is generated randomly. The enemies and other antagonists are procedurally generated.
The game's UI includes the number of remains the player needs to find and the hospital threat level. The higher the threat level, the more likely monsters will appear.
