Honestly one of the prettiest HOGs I've played in a while. Every location feels like it was pulled from a fairy tale illustration, the hand drawn art is just gorgeous. Hidden object scenes especially, I caught myself just looking around instead of actually searching. Runs about three hours on expert, never drags. Easy recommendation if you want something beautiful that doesn't eat up your whole evening.

[b]Chronicles of Magic: Divided Kingdoms[/b] es una aventura en 2D para un jugador que mezcla puzles con búsqueda de objetos ocultos. La presentación es bastante pobre, pero las ilustraciones están bien y el tema de la magia le da un extra distinto. Entretenido para un par de sesiones ya que más corto y lineal que otros similares. Eso sí, en inglés.

Los Reinos Blanco y Negro vivían en armonía hasta que el Rey Blanco muere envenenado en un banquete. Airados, una guerra estalla entre ambos reinos que termina con la muerte del Rey Negro. Han pasado algunos años desde entonces y nuestra protagonista y su hijo, Nevin, viven tranquilamente en una cabaña aislada hasta que un Caballero Negro secuestra al pequeño. Nada detendrá a una madre para salvar a su hijo.

Viene completamente en inglés.

En este tipo de juegos hay algo que se nota bastante rápido, cuando Artifex Mundi sólo publica y no desarrolla, ya que la animación es bastante pobre y éste no es una excepción. Las ilustraciones y los fondos en general, están bastante bien, pero cada vez que hay alguien moviéndose o una cinemática… deja bastante que desear. Al menos la historia con la magia por medio es bastante amena aunque no sorprenda en ningún momento.

La mecánica de juego principal es la mezcla entre pantallas de objetos ocultos y puzles más tradicionales. Como ya he comentado, las ilustraciones son buenas así que no tendremos muchos problemas con lo primero. Algunos objetos estarán detrás de otros u ocultos de alguna manera, necesitando combinar un par de ellos para dar con el requerido, lo que da cierta variedad. En cuanto a los puzles, son más sencillos de lo habitual, incluso hay algunos que se repiten como los de seguir una receta o utilizar un pergamino mágico. También tendremos la opción de buscar coleccionables, en forma de cuervos y figuras de ajedrez, pero sólo afectan a los logros.

En caso de atascarnos tendremos acceso a ayudas y pistas o la posibilidad de saltarnos un puzle o mini juego. El uso de estas se ve afectado por la dificultad que tengamos: casual, avanzado o experto. El modo experto nunca me ha gustado en estos juegos ya que suelen estar estructurados de manera que te lleven de un sitio a otro y en dicho modo no tienes forma de saber adónde ir. Si olvidas un objeto lo pasarás mal para encontrarlo, éste al menos es bastante lineal y no tendremos que lidiar con más de cuatro localizaciones a la vez. Normalmente pongo casual o avanzado pero sin utilizar ayudas o pistas. Este además tiene un cuarto modo que te permite cambiar cada parámetro de manera manual.

La historia debería durar unas 3-4 horas. No se desbloquea nada nuevo una vez terminado.

Il y a trop d'objets à faire attention, de plus c'est toujours dans le sombre, jamais à l'extérieur ou très peu. Puis au moment où il se balance le jeu beugue. Impossible quand la flèche est jaune d'attraper quelque chose pourtant la flèche était dessus l'objet. Je ne peux donc pas aller plus loin. Quelle poisse d'arriver à la moitié sans pouvoir terminer.

It's...okay. I got it at a 90% discount during Christmas, and for that price it was fine, but I can't recommend spending more. I bought this because I really liked another game by this company (Grim Legends: Forsaken Bride) but this one wasn't as good as it imo. The story is really bad, and while I know people don't play hidden objects for the story, things happen that don't make logical sense within the story context OR using IRL logic, to the point it's just better to ignore everything entirely. The animated scenes aren't as nice as the other game either.

As for the puzzles....they are okay, assuming you get this game at a discount. The huge downside is that the hidden object part doesn't change the objects you search for or shuffle the positions they are in, so it's really only 'good' once.

Introduction of Chronicles of Magic: Divided Kingdoms is worth of praise even if it played the brothers-leading-a-kingdom trope. Usually, on certain occasions, leading with this trope feels overused. However, on the entrance of the game, it reminded me of good and evil story plotlines. It is clear that this game had something it offer.

This is a spectacle of its own. The concept of the scrolls is very intuitive for the storyline and necessary for the plot. It had an interesting small puzzle concept where small POVs appear to the players. It renders the game more unique.

It had unexpected plot twists, yet I do have a love and hate relationship with this game. I am unsure why two of the quests did not trigger for me and I am in no energy to repeat the story as of the moment with a new profile so I will be leaving my achievement progress in a little over ~90% complete.

PS. The child's drawings on the first scenes is very cute!

I had a 2 and a half hour worth of run for base story with intentions of a 100% run eventually. I will try on a second profile next time. As for my rating, this is a recommend and will land on a decent [u]7.5/10[/u] for lore, plot, playthrough, and everything in between.

Die Geschichte kennt jeder wenn es um den Weißen und Schwarzen König geht, aber es macht Spaß es mal so zu spielen als man es kennt durch Büchern aber es gibt auch eine Schach Geschichte um die Schachfiguren und um den Weißen König und Schwarzen König.

Aber zum Spiel finde ich es wirklich gut gemacht aber hätte auch schwerer sein können ich finde das es eines der Einfachsten Games des Entwicklers, aber für ne Sammlung ist es ein muss, für einsteiger ist es wirklich super leider gibt es keinen Daumen für Neutral daher den Daumen hoch.

I'm giving Chronicles of Magic probably a 6/10. It's decent, but there are far better Hidden Object Mysteries in the Artifex Mundi collection. The locations are generally interesting. My main objection to the gameplay is that there's a location we can only visit once, where the protagonist's kid has been taken, and clicking on the kid leaves the location behind. I chose to try and free the kid immediately on entering the room, rather than taking the time to search for optional collection objects, which blocked me out from completing that achievement.

HOPA od Artifex Mundi, które około dekadę temu taśmowo tworzyło gry tego typu. "Podzielone królestwa" nie wyróżniają się od reszty tego typu gier. Ba, nawet wypadają nieco gorzej. Mam kilka gier od AM za sobą i tamte były po prostu ładniejsze (poza pojedynczymi przypadkami). Grafiki były elegancko narysowane, barwne, przyciągające wzrok. Tutaj tak nie było. Większość plansz jest mdła, nijaka, nie zostawała w pamięci. Obrazki z szukaniem wielu przedmiotów były niekiedy wymagające, bo niektóre przedmioty zlewały się z innymi. Same łamigłówki to standard. Nic się nie wyróżniało, niektóre jak zawsze naciągane. Fabuła jak zwykle przewidywalna, choć ze zwrotem akcji, który i tak niczym nie zaskakiwał, bo takowe rozwiązania fabularne były w innych grach od AM. W ten tytuł grałem z synkiem. Dla czterolatka część rzeczy była oczywiście za trudna, ale w niektórych pozwalałem mu się wykazać, jak w łączeniu kropek podczas rzucania zaklęć, w łączeniu niektórych przedmiotów, czy szukaniu konkretnych rzeczy. Sama gra podobała mu się. Co jakiś czas wspominał o tym, by razem usiąść przed ekranem i uratować chłopczyka. Pewnie jeszcze do niej powrócimy.
Dla mnie to pozycja niewyróżniająca się. Średniak ze wskazaniem na „nie”.

The Collectibles can literally take up half your screen and there is no way in hell to miss them. Mini-games... I forgot. But I don't think I struggled with any, so... Makes sense. And well...

It's not that bad. I liked the use of magic scrolls. Often. I thought it was ridiculous how the wolf/dog was used, but okay. And I may have figured out the twist from the beginning. Not the follow-up one though.

Didn't really hate it. Good for not thinking for a few hours. That's all.

If you want to fill your HOG need then this one is alright at best.
The mini-games are alright, the main attraction, the HO puzzles, are well done.
Soundtrack is ok, but speaking of sounds, the VA is ... not that great to put it mildly, not the very worst, but still they fall right bellow mediocre.
Story is decent, is cliche and you see the twist from a mile away, however it is alright enough.
I am disappointed that there is no bonus chapter, this makes it, when comparing it to other HOGs, a bit short.

So yeah, this is just a mediocre HOG, it scratches that urge for such games but that is all, does not really stand out.

"Chronicles of Magic: Divided Kingdoms" is a free mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as a nasty cash grab by the mobile app developers, Artifex Mundi. A typical Artifex Mundi Hidden Object puzzle game, the type you normally see on mobile app stores or even as browser apps. There's literally hundreds of these on Steam, most of them published by Artifex Mundi, many of them free on mobile app stores, but this one will cost you money on Steam. There's a fantasy/magic theme to the game, but this is a just a veneer over a tired and overdone set of hidden object minigames and Adobe Flash tier puzzles, wrapped together with a bunch of static screens that you "move" through by tapping your finger on your iPhone screen.

While these kinds of games are popular amongst casual gamers, it's difficult to argue this is a great value proposition as a PC game, especially considering the price of this compared to the hundreds of free HOGs on the mobile app stores.

From a technical perspective, as a mobile app, this doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.

There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision.

Because this is a mobile app, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the iPhones that the mobile app was designed for. These are unfortunate handicaps and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was an afterthought for the iPhone developers who are to blame for this. The mobile app is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for mobile phones forces upon a game. Once more, mobile devs have made gaming worse for everyone. I didn't spend thousands on building a gaming rig just so I could pretend it's an iPhone.

These technical defects push this mobile app below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

The mobile app never really caught on with the millions of gamers on Steam, with a very low peak player count close to launch, and then just a handful of players launching this mobile app every couple of days. This is undoubtedly caused by factors such as those raised in this review. It's always helpful with buying decisions to consider how popular and successful the product is, and unfortunately while this did accumulate a few participation trophy reviews, overall, people just aren't using it.

So, should you buy this mobile app? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam?

Once more we see greedy mobile devs trying to scam PC gamers. On Steam, this is $15 USD, on app stores, it's free. A fun little game from House of Fables. I would recommend getting it on sale, as it is a somewhat short game (don't let my playtime fool you - that's 2 1/2 playthroughs because I'd missed a couple of achievements). As with other House of Fables games, the artwork is quite good, and the story is entertaining. One small caution: some of the hidden object scenes suffer slightly from localization/translation issues (e.g. calling a doily a tray cloth), but this didn't really detract from my enjoyment.

Игра красочная и приключенческая по традиции серии. Здесь также по традиции играем за маму пропавшего ребёнка. Мама отважная и даже владеет магией. А противостоять будут очередные злые силы, которые распространяют скверну.

В игре очень красочная иллюстрация и в этом плане тут можно похвалить художников. Иной раз бывает откровенная халтура, где даже искать предметы является мучением. Тут же всё прекрасно. Головоломки хоть и не всегда логичные, но вполне можно обойтись без руководства. Только с предметами для коллекционирования нужно быть внимательным, потому что они периодически исчезают и появляются. В остальном же прохождении трудностей не возникло.

Game was great, but a tad bit long. At least you get your bang for your buck. Game has:
- Great voice acting
- 46 collectibles
- Good balance of puzzles and HOG mini-games
- Item combining and finding pieces for items
- use of magic scrolls to cast spells in order to progress
- good ambient music
- a few complex characters (all voiced)
- interaction with a few animals

Took me 16 hours to finish 2 playthroughs and get all achievements, but that is because I missed a collectable at the very end of the game. I highly recommend this game. Score 10/10, but get it on sale.

This one was pretty standard hidden object adventure game fare from Artifex Mundi. If you like this genre you know what you're getting in to. The graphics are good except when it comes to people who always have this weird appearance to them in Artifex Mundi games, something with their animation engine is weird. In this one you're a mom trying to save their kidnapped son, except you can use magic if you find a corresponding scroll. There are collectibles, and an indicator showing you there is a collectible on the current screen, but if you missed one like I did you will have to replay the game because there is no backtracking in this one. Every few screens leads to an entirely different area. Puzzles in this one were super easy, barely an inconvenience. I did not struggle the least bit with any of them.

I think this is one of the better Artifex Mundi games on Steam but I do have to say one thing negative. I find the kids really creepy looking in this one. Thankfully there's only two of them but still Nevin and the little girl Underground are really weird looking when they're talking to you. The adults look fine so what went wrong with the children? If you can get past that the puzzles in this one are pretty fun. The achievement to finish a Hidden Object Puzzle in less than 30 seconds is a real pain though. I think you should play it though if you like this type of game.

Chronicles of Magic: Divided Kingdoms is another hidden object point and click adventure. The story follows a mother trying to rescue her son after he has been kidnapped by a knight. After tracking down the knight you find out that the mother's son is needed as a sacrifice to end a curse placed upon the land. As any mother would take that, the mc has none of it and continues her efforts to rescue her son. Because, only over her dead body would she allow her son to be sacrificed.

The overall narrative of the game is easy to follow while also at times being fairly predictable. The game consists of a general stereotypical fairy tale explanation for everything with the exception of the two kingdoms being represented through chess pieces. These chess pieces can be found as a hidden object throughout the game, along with another set of hidden objects; crows.

The game mechanics have you utilize your visual skills along with a system to cast spells on objects with the use of a scroll. There are a few difficulties to choose from based on the level of challenge you want from the game, as well as a custom option. The difficulty you choose does not effect achievements at all. The casting system was easy to understand and use. The way objects would fit together or be used also logically made sense for the most part, which is always a plus in my book for a good hidden object game.

When it came to collecting the hidden achievement based objects things took a bit of a dip. The chess pieces were for the most part easy to find if you were looking. The crows are another story however. When crows would appear, players had a limited amount of time to collect them before they faded. Sometimes this counter also overlapped with cutscenes making it difficult to claim a few of them. If you miss one during your play through it's also difficult to backtrack. I missed a few in my first play through and ended up having to start from the very beginning because there was no level selection option. This is what is separating the game from many fantastic hidden object games. If players also didn't get the movie watcher achievement on their first play through for whatever reason as well, this also makes the subsequent play through longer than it needs to be as well.

The puzzles of the game are decent, primarily making use of hidden object scenarios, but still incorporating a few other types as well. These puzzles however are not enough to bring the game into the upper levels of hidden object games.

Overall while Chronicles of Magic: Divided Kingdoms isn't the best or even the best of mediocre hidden object games, it still possesses its charms. The overall story may be more engaging to a younger audience than an older one due to cliches and various foreseeable plot twists. The puzzles aren't too difficult and could serve as a good introduction for younger audiences into the hidden object genre especially due to the short length of the game. If you like the magic aspect or want a story with a bit more depth to it, consider checking out the Hidden Fables series out. Another series of games that can serve as a good introduction to the hidden object genre.

This is a hidden object game with an interesting story. The game is full of puzzles and object search areas that need to be completed to get to the next part of the story. The achievements are also really easy to complete. It takes approximately 3 hours to unlock the achievements and the trading cards.

Visually the game is really beautiful with loads of details. I must say that the characters are not the prettiest I have seen, but it's definitely something different.

The music and sound effects are nice. The voice acting was better than the other 9 clues game.

Overall everyone that likes hidden object games, would definitely like this game.

Wie immer bei Artifex Mundi sollte man nur im Sonderangebot kaufen. Die unverständliche Schwäche beim Übersetzen sollte nicht zu sehr belohnt werden. Es kann doch nicht so teuer sein jemanden damit zu beauftragen, der Standarddeutsch kann und auch das Spiel mal ansieht, durchspielt, damit der Sinn stimmt. "Bolt" mit "Bolzen" zu übersetzen, das ist zwar als Beispiel rein formal eine gültige Lösung, nicht aber wenn es "Blitz" bedeuten müsste. Nehmt doch zwei oder drei Schüler, Studenten, Rentner oder Arbeitslose, gebt denen die Spiele gratis zum Fehlerfinden und Fehlerkorrigieren.
Ansonsten finde ich dieses Schriftrollengetue in dem Spiel manchmal etwas etwas übertrieben, das Spiel insgesamt kann man aber empfehlen.

Пожалуй это первая игра такого жанра, где я не делал перерывов в прохождении - 5 часов пролетели быстро. Рисовка приятная, текстурки красивые, головоломки несложные. This is one of the newer games by AF, so the visuals are really nice and the story isn't half bad for an HO game. As usual, the achievements are ell within reach in one playthrough, though there is a little bit of a confusing moment that happens at the very end of the game. It happens when they ask you to highlight the "patterns" on the table, when, in fact, you need to highlight the stains on the goblet in the middle. Perhaps it was just a misunderstanding or translation, but I found myself struggling with this part for awhile. Either way, not too bad.

3) Interesting Magic sequences (minigames)
4) 2 types of collectibles to collect
5) Good news that you don't required a "Full completion of Achievements on a Profile" you can sorta cheese it with another profile if you're afraid of failing the "Precise Targeting " achievement
6) Okay-ish story (just the voice over...ugh)

Again, this one has modern graphics, of the newer crop of Artifex Mundi games, plus mechanics that also feel from the newer crop... perhaps not the most recent ones, but certainly more advanced than older hidden object puzzle games.
No bonus chapter here, it's the entire story in one shot.
Speaking of which, you are a mom who has her son kidnaped in some plot around two Kingdoms that were on the verge of peace until the kings of both sides got killed in weird circunstances.

It's... pretty similar to a few other hidden object game stories, which I guess isn't a huge surprise given how many of them follows the folk tale fairy tale mix.

Anyways, recommended!

3.3小时通关，大部分都是寻物谜题，小游戏都是很简单的，适合我这种脑子不太灵光的hhh再难一点我就要卡很久了。
这还是我第一个找齐全部隐藏物体的游戏，隐藏物体在每个场景有提示，找到隐藏物体那个提示才不亮这点我很喜欢，天知道其他解谜游戏我眼睛都快找瞎了还没找齐，不过机翻是am家老问题了，铲子又翻译成黑桃，笑死，本来还想吐槽剧情来着，玩完就忘了。
让我数数有啥经典要素，动物嗷嗷叫，盾牌螺丝刀，钻石玻璃刀（虽然那玩意明明长得像水晶而且为什么能切出个长方体）反派经典要抓个人，经典反转，一开始特别像好人的往往是反派，虽然建模是有点搞笑（，不过这游戏总体玩得很开心，因为简单还是通关了

Chronicles of Magic: Divided Kingdoms is a hidden object game where you play as a woman named Gillian, a citizen of White Kingdom as she went on a journey to rescue her son who was kidnapped by a mysterious knight from the Black Kingdom, which was cursed and separated from White Kingdom years ago. This HOG is made by The House of Fables, who made Dreamwalker: Never Fall Asleep, which I regarded as one of the prettiest HOGs I ever played and piqued my interest in this game.

The artwork is just as beautiful as I expected, despite the other having a contemporary setting and this a fantasy setting. The aesthetics of the town and castle levels as well as some costumes are really beautiful, even compared to fantasy masterpieces such as Elder Scrolls and Witcher. The hidden object sections and minigames are pretty easy and fun as well. There are no annoying, difficult ones, which is the way I like it. And lastly, they are able to build up tension on the final chapter and have a pretty cool, kinda long (for a HOG) boss battle at the end.

The main weak point in this game is the voice of Gillian, the protagonist. She sounds okay most times, but during the more emotional scenes she sounds very forced. There's also no extra game sadly, as an epilogue would be cool as I would love to see more of the cities and castle's aesthetics with a longer resolution. However, they wrapped up and explained the story pretty nicely, so it's not really necessary.

Personally, I think Chronicles of Magic: Divided Kingdoms is one of the better HOGs I ever played. Beautiful artwork, pretty good story with twists, and easy minigames. Get it if you're a fan of the more fantasy-themed HOGs, or if you simply just want to look at beautiful medieval fantasy aesthetics.

I played for 10 minute white people story a magic knight kidnap a little boy I'm not sure why but he might get he's butt hole poke I guess. And the mother chasing after him doing crazy magic stuff and I wonder why she doesn't tell the police in the game but I'm interested in what happen to the boy so I will keep playing to the end. And I will update my the review when I complete the game.

Storyline is fast that little boy also taken by a queen seem like he's being pass around and shared by everyone.
The theme in the game is pretty cool and some of the puzzle is kinda like wtf but but overall it's a fun game puzzle game.

I really enjoyed the concepts this game introduced, and the storyline definitely kept my interest! It did take me a while to get into, just because I had been super busy when I first started the game, but once I got started I found I enjoyed it a lot.

The story follows a mother trying to save her boy from some knight that stole him from her, but there are a lot of twists to the story that change as you learn more information. I was particularly fond of the idea that magic existed in the kingdoms and you could use them to progress in the game. Now, there weren't a whole lot of hints as to where to use the spells later on, but I really enjoyed the map telling you where everything was. Once the game ended, I found that most of my questions had been answered, and the few questions that I did have wouldn't have benefited the story at all to continue with.

The game itself was very short, something that you can finish within a few hours. The game is not too difficult that you can't progress, but the game also isn't too easy that you get bored within the first hour of playing it. I absolutely would recommend playing the game though, it is a fantastic game~
